Former Lands Minister, Gladys Nyirongo, has been arrested for two counts of abuse of authority of office.
Mrs. Nyirongo was arrested, Friday by a joint investigations team on the Ministry of Lands.
Anti-Corruption Commission Public Relations Manager, Timothy Moono confirmed the arrest in a statement issued to ZNBC.
Mrs. Nyirongo has since been released on a K10 million ACC bond in her own recognisance and is exepcted to appear in court, Thursday.
She is alleged to have directed a lands officer at the ministry of lands to generate offer letters of land in Lusaka’s Foxdale and Chamba valley areas to several people in contravention of land allocation procedures.
The Former Lands Minister is also accused of abusing her office as lands minister when she directed a junior Technical Officer in the ministry of Agriculture to subdivide a former ZCCM farm for herself in contravention of land procedures.
Mr. Moono said investigations into corruption cases continue and more arrests will follow.
