  1. I just want to ask the repulican president, what he is doing abt the issue of building a morden stadium in Makeni just b4 Baobab college on a reserved land for government.

  2. The government wants our teams to always win and to produce miracles on the field but is not prepared to invest in sports. At such an hour as this, when wherever we go we are greeted by modern stadia, it is such a shame to play host to other nations in substandard maize fields that we call football stadia.

  3. Just to inform the House, Nigeria under 20 here in Canada at the on going Fifa under 20 world cup, has been crushed to four unanswered strikes in extra-time by Chile.

  5. In a key group B match with Zambia, hosts Algeria were inflicted a bitter 1-1 draw on Monday, resulting in a disappointing exit in men’s soccer competition at the ninth All-Africa Games.

A last-minute goal by Zambia and the elimination from men’s soccer games stunned the Algerians. Some of the 10,000 home supporters plunged into a state of chaos and violence, which lasted about 15 minutes, were seen after the match.

Algeria need a must win to cruise into the semi-final, as was expected by their home supporters.

Before the match, Algeria ranked the third with just three points from two earlier group games — a 2-1 victory over Egypt in the opener on July 9 but a surprise 1-2 loss to Guinea on last Friday. Both Zambia and Guinea got four points.

The unfavorable situation forced Algeria to stage fierce attack against Zambia after the game was started amid loud cheers and slogans from home supporters.

But Algeria’s threat was not enough serious in most time of the first half until the 44th minute. Algerian forward Amine Mohamed Aoudia made use of a loose defense and headed for a goal thanks to a flank pass from midfielder Hadj Bougueche.

In the second half, Zambia enhanced their attack, but their attempt to score a draw received a major blow in the 78th minute. Zambian goalkeeper Kakonje Kalililo was expelled from the pitch by the referee after an unreasonable behavior against a nearby caddie.

Ten-men Zambia would not give up and continue to fight, and their unswerving efforts got paid off in injury time when Zambian forward Christopher Musonda made a header goal.

The sudden goal led to a state of chaos in the stadium when Algerian fans threw things like plastic bottles onto the pitch and even against Zambian players. Some Algerians even pulled off the plastic seats and threw them into the sky.

The Algerian police and security forces interfered and dispersed local fans before escorting the Zambian team to their bus. With the draw, Zambia ranked the second place in Group B with five points and reached the semi-final.

In the other three games on Monday, Guinea scored a 3-2 win over Egypt and ranked first in Group B with seven points. Cameroon also got seven points in Group A after a 2-1 victory over South Africa. The other team that reached the semi-final was Tunisia, who drew 1-1 with Ghana in the day.

The semi-final of men’s soccer will be staged on Thursday, with Cameroon facing Zambia while Guinea playing Tunisia.

    Zambia can learn from Brazil!!!!!!!!

  8. #15 We need to be proud of Zambian products. Brazil is good footballing country and they have good players around the world but we will never be them.

By the way, how do people from the village behaviour since you seem to know better?
