  1. I really do not know whats gonna happen this weekend in Cape Town. Although our chances of qualifying to Ghana 2008 are slim, there is always hope. If we can quickly hit Bafana with two quick and unanswered goals, that will be it. But it is an extremely huge mountain to climb considering SA have assembled their best possible squad. All the best to Chipolopolo anyway.

  2. Chipolopolo must play that lady luck smiles on them on sunday.

Zambia has arguably one of the best frontlines (strike force) in Africa and has scored in more than 90% of her recent matches but our undoing comes from the midfield where we lack composure and vitality. The defence is our worst department as we usually let in goals that we are not supposed to.

Therefore come sunday, if our midfield and defence are not well marshalled then will have kissed goodnite to hopes of Ghana 2008.

Otherwise all the best to mother Zambia

  3. I agree with u Billy. If we can score two quick ones, we will be in Ghana next year. Benni is coming, but I do not think he is a threat to our defence. Iam glad Zuma is out for this game.

  4. Viva Rokana United!!
    Viva Nkana Red Devils!!
    Viva Nkana FC!!

  5. Forget the tactics. I have previously said we must pray. That is the only way we can win in Cape Town. The team needs a lot of luck and a lot of support

  6. #5. Brace yourself for some theological debate.
Anyway,IF the past trends are anything to go by, we are winning in RSA. Isn’t it ironical that when we least expect it, our team gives us the result?

  7. Former Orlando Pirates and SA under-23 (Amaglu glug) international striker Gift Leremi has died. Gift died in a car crash on monday night. At the time of his death, Gift was playing for PSL champions Mamelodi Sundowns. For those of you who watch SA soccer, Gift is a talented player with lot of future. However his career was marred by a lot of controversy, particularly out of soccer behaviour. The reason why I am reporting this is that both Bafana and Chipolopolo’s meeting on sunday will be characterised by the deaths of their soccer stars, which will be a sad day indeed. Zambia’s Chaswe Nsofwa died in Isreal which we all know already. Some players in Spain also died. It is sad losing players just like this. Some of us soccer is the main form of intertainment, but if our sport is characterised by sorrow every week, then it is sad indeed.

  8. Guys, am not trying to be unpatriotic. We have no team to talk about. Let the best prepared teams qualify and save our hard earned Foreign exchange ob other things. The best we can do is to start assembling a young team and expose them abroad. Going to the AFCON will be a waste of national resources. South Africa is another useless team on the continent. We can beat them at home but that will not make us a better team.

  9. Those in Cape Town, can we have some information on where to get tickets for the Zambia match. Do I just show up at the stadium? Any data about the logistics will help.

Ya I don’t expect a win, I will just show up at the stadium to meet some Zedians and the bloggers.

  10. Thanks Sibs. See you at the match. Will you be there? It will be nice to see al you SA bloggers there. I hope Zambia surprises us since nobody expect them to win and there is virtually no news fom the camp to create any such expectations. Good luck mother zambia

  11. number 1,3and 11 cold you please highlight me on sashi chalwe. We have beaten southafrica at thier tuff before, remember the late timothy mweetwa’s goal? However in the interest of soccer let the best team win

  12. Soccer Fan # 7 i’m trying to make plans to get to the game in Cape Town.Though im might not make cos of finances not allowing. But if the game was in Pretoria or Joburg i would definitely been there.Jozi to Capetown is same distance as Jozi to Lusaka. We will be with the boys in prayer and support.I will just be going to the WWW Raw on Friday at the Coca cola Dome.

  13. Sashi Chalwe used to play for Boem Celtics. But he has been offloaded this season to an unknown team. I wouldnt be surprised if he resurfaces at one of the Mvela Clubs.

  14. I’m desperately trying to organise passage to Cape town this weekend, hope to see you all there. Let’s support the boys, I believe an upset is on the cards. No let me rephrase, Bafana beating us will be an upset, we have everything to gain and absolutely nothing to lose.

  15. In terms of head to count count bafana bafana is much better tan us. I have seen Mcarthy training in camp. Has any European Pro arrived for Zambia? This is where we shall lose the match beacuse of indequacies in plannning, organising and general management. South Africans know, even Pareira has confessed that this will be his strongest test since taking over as coach for Bafana Bafana. Does PP know that Benni is in Camp, what plan does he ahve to beat Bafana Bafana? I saw on SABC last night where it was said that PP and Mbesuma believe ZAmbia can beat South Africa.

  16. Am eagerly waiting for the Bafana Bafana/ Chipolopolo match. It will be interesting in that Mcarthy is back after imposing a self exile. Zambia has assembled what it calls the strongest team it has ever assembled in the recent past with four of its top players in Europe- Jacob Mulenga at Strassbourg in France, Christopher Katongo at Brondyby in Denmark , Isaac Chansa at Helsingborg in Sweden and CollinsMbesuma at some club in Turkey, Andrew Sinkala in Germany, plus South African based players. South Africa felt of calling Benni after their blunt showing against Scotland. For South Africa to beat Zambia, it has to be at its best ever, because the Chipolopolo’s strike force is reputed to be one of the sharpest in Africa – Felix katongo, Christopher Katongo, Jacob Mulenga, Collins Mbesuma and others are just feared here. Zambia’s weakest link has been the midfield, which seems to have been solidified with the recalling of Isaac Chansa, Andrew Sinkala and Ian Bakala. I can bet for Zambia.

  17. Go Zambia Go fight and and Conquor SA’S Bafana Bafana in thier own back yard. If they did the same to us in Lusaka why cant we? I am not dreaming but just beieng an optimist that anything is possible in Soccer. 90 mins will be Zambia’s Reckning time.

  18. “Meanwhile, Zambia have given notice they mean business by selecting a formidable squad that includes players of the calibre of Christopher Katongo, Collins Mbesuma, Isaac Chansa, Jacob Mulenga and the South African-based trio of Free State Stars goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene, Golden Arrows defender Joseph Musondo and Moroka Swallows striker Songwe Chalwe.

South Africa have virtually assured themselves a place in next year’s African Nations Cup tournament in Ghana and need only avoid a defeat by three goals or more to make the proposition a fait accompli – while Zambia, it would seem, will need a victory over Bafana to earn one of the 16 places reserved for the 2008 finalists. – Sapa “

  19. McCarthy can only perform if he is playing with intelligent players such sa those found at Blackburn.Bafana players are not that smart so i doubt the synergy. We will beat SA no doubt and we will qualify for Ghana 2008.

  20. Zambia can qualify by simply beating BAFANA BAFANA.It won`t even matter about the score margin and in this case even 1-NIL can be enough.Three best runners up will make it to Ghana 2008.Zambia tend to perform best when you least expect them.SO,I wouldn`t be shocked if we beat Bafana on their home turf.

  21. Nkethani and Billy Mwanza are just as good Remember the way Kaulu used to praise Biily. What is needed is working as a team and this team has been together long enough from under 23.

  22. I still feel Tana is the best defender we have. Very strong and a leader. The first game Vs SA, he did not play and now he is injuired, anyway let us wait and see
