Economic Zones coming

Share

Commerce Minister, Felix Mutati says there is an urgent need to speed up the process of setting up the two multi-facility economic zones.

One will be in Chambeshi and the other in Lusaka
as agreed by the governments of Zambia and China.

And Mr. Mutati said it is important to include
Zambian experts in the management structure from the
initial stage of setting up the economic zones so that
there is quick transfer of skills to Zambians.

He was speaking in Xiamen, when he met the management of China Nonferrous Mining Company CNMC which will spearhead the establishment of the multi-facility economic zone in Chambeshi.

The Minister said the government will identify
qualified engineers, accountants, economists and other
local professionals who will work with the Chinese.

The President of CNMC, Luo Tao agreed with Mr. Mutati
on the need to include Zambians in its management
structure in Zambia.

The Chambeshi multi-facility economic zone will be the
first of its kind in Africa to be set up by China.

And CNMC President said his company has already agreed with a Chinese firm that will set up a factory to manufacture malaria and HIV/AIDS drugs in Zambia.

Mr. Luo said many Chinese companies are interested in investing in Zambia because of the country’s conducive investment policies.

  1. Last warning for Imposters. Cybercrime is punished by Laws of Zambia.

An Internet crime Bill was enacted by the Parliament, and was signed by the President in 2004.
According to this Computer Misuse and Crimes Law, convictions of computer hackers and other offenders may result in sentences ranging from 15 to 25 years.

  2. Good news for the economic zones. Inclusion of Zambians in management positions should always be a must. We shouls also make sure that no deadly chemicals are added to the medicines for HIV AIDS.

  3. #5 SAGE,Iam threaténing anyone, pipo should know that there is a law to prosecute anyone who committe a crime on internet. Many think they cannot be traced yet it easy to get them. SAGE I already know about this including the latitude and longitude of this hashcode firm. Last time didnt just want to report the Administrator for allowing this to continue. Those who are debating should know so that they are not caught up with the law without their knowledge. I know someone tried to remote my portable PC, he risks to be traped.

  4. EASY the problem here is LT. Lack logins means everyone bloging here is anonymous. If the site has no rules to what would you hold bloggers accountable? People already know that they can be traced. I think you should devote your time talking to B Kabaso ([email protected]) rather than threatening people for no reason. I understand and i detest the idea of people using “other peoples ID” but on this blog you dont own the ID you are using. My advise , take it up with Kabaso.

  5. #7 SAGE, Kabaso is also anonymous, do you want me to take action against him the blog shall be closed. because of no action my concern is what is the data used for which being stored. monitoring traffic is easy and you can follow where it is coming from. Ask the people from Estonia they tell you more about it. If you promise finish the new blog soon then its okay.

  6. Easy, if you have nothing constructive to contribute please stay away.Let people debate freely on this forum.Learn to respect other pipos opinions. It is pipo like you who have made Africa lag behind. What the Minister is talking about is nothing new. We needed that in 1964,not now.Do you think you can go to China and be incorporated in their management team?Zambians are already qualified to manage all sectors of the economy,we don`t need chinese input.

  7. Easy,
Kindly consider reading the cyber laws without lenses next time. You seem to be aiming your baseless cyber laws assumptions on Grade 3 kids in Chavuma or Samfya certainly not even a fourth Grader in the West. Yours on that has no nod of rationalism. It lacks observation, analysis, logical inference and acceptable Generalization.

May be men of good will dedicate you a sagacious Sophist to sock you in Epistemology-the study of the foundations of knowledge, help you examine the nature of cyber laws premises and enlighten you on how they work unlike the enduring confusion in your head so far. I know you have the capacity to learn.

  8. Zambians do you Mo Ibrahim? Court from him: Were you certain of success?
I was convinced that there was a market and that it would be a success but I had no idea to what extent. The need of individuals to communicate with each other is the same in Africa as anywhere else, but Africans felt frustrated due to the almost complete lack of available landlines. We were the first to take the bet that cellular telephony could fill this void. The first networks were introduced in Uganda and Zambia and we immediately sought partners to invest alongside us. During the first five years, we made more than ten financial presentations to potential investors. SAGE are aware that Zambia is the first country to introduce mobile phones.

  9. OASIS PULLS OUT OF NCC
HE Oasis Forum has adopted the Non-Governmental Organisations Co-ordinating Council’s (NGOCC) position to stay away from the National Constitutional Conference (NCC) which is being spearheaded by the government. .

    COMMENTS
The so called Oasis Forum and its sister NGOCC can go to hell Zambians will soldier on without their input in the future. We fought for independence, have preserved peace and are collectively determined to usher in a new constitution. All these pseudo NGOs fronts of destruction have done is advance counter progressive agendas and useless intrigues. We dare them they can go to hell and hung.

  10. What do the OASIS FORUM real want? Power to rule or what? Its very discouraging how this NGO is behaving. Before the SADC Summit they are agreed to everything. OASIS is just like Sata who will agree on sth the first day and disgree on the another day.

  11. I have said before that it is easy to trace anyone on the internet & that it is not good to use insults on one another or to use another person’s ID. No one controls the IDs we use on this blog. But we have thousands of unused names or words in many languages which we are free to use like Prakash, Choi, Patel, Mulenga or PhiriJ and so on. I like this blog where we can share our views without loging in. I of course belong to other international blogs where I log in. But wherever I discuss issues, I make it my aim to agree or dissagree with others without insults or calling each other names. This is what I have argued that we should have on LT. It is also in line with my christian ethic although this is not a christian blog.

  13. Sorry, bloggers for the repeat of my posting in 16 & 17 under two different names. My first posting in 16 was refused due to my visionary name that it had been used already. Then I used my other name TimothyZ becuase I thought that that my first posting had not gone through.
