FAZ hands Warriors Coke Cup semifinal passage

Share

Faz has handed Kabwe Warriors their passage to the semifinal of this years Coca Cola Cup.

This is after awarding Warriors the win from their abandoned quarterfinal match against Green Buffaloes played on August 24 at Independence stadium in Lusaka.

Warriors will now face Nkana this weekend at Nkoloma stadium in Lusaka for a place in the finals to be announced later.

The other semifinal match will see Zesco United take on Nkwazi in a 12:30 kickoff in what is expected to be a Coca Cola Cup doubleheader at Nkoloma.

The match against Buffaloes was abandoned at half time after the first assistant referee was hit by an object from the spectator stands as the match officials were heading back to the dressing room.

The referee then decided the situation was not safe for them to officiate and teams play the final 45 minutes with Warriors enjoying a 1-0 lead from the opening half

Buffaloes meanwhile have disclosed that they will appeal the decision that might force another delay in Warriors and Nkana penultimate stage match-up.

Warriors are the Coca Cola Cup defending champions after beating Forest Rangers 2-0 in last years final.

  1. Kabwe warriors is great team when it comes to cup games and am sure they will reach the finals and i flew into the country to come and watch the game. GO warriors Go!

  2. I don’t think Nkana can shine over Warriors in Lusaka where almost everyone is warriors.I know we will carry the day because we’ll be seeking to avenge the 1-0 loss we suffered at their hands in barclays cup on the copperbelt where they have a respective following .Viva Warriors!

I forgive you because you donot current live pa ZED so you are detached from what is happening.

Granted, Warriors is good in cup games, but not when they meet Nkana FC!!

For your own info, we ejected then in the inaugral Barcklays Cup a few weeks ago. You should have saved yourself alot of heartache by staying where you are. The money you spent on the air ticket could have gone a long way in poverty eradication!!! Not coming here to watch your team Warriors go down to the Red Devils Nkana FC. I predict a 2-0 bashing.

    Long Live Patrick Kabamba!!!!

  4. #2. Davy Chile,
Everyone at Nkoloma will be in RED AND WHITE!!
Nkana is one of the few, if not the only team that enjoys massive support countrywide. It does not matter whether they are playing home or away. If you are in ZED i invite you to Nkoloma Stadium tomoro to witness this for yourself.

The Barklays cup, Coca Cola Cup and Mosi Cup ALL belong to Nkana FC this Season.

    Viva Kalampa!!!

  5. FAZ is an incompetent lot!!!
They have delayed in making a decision on this matter. With reports that GBFC are appealing against this decision, there is a possibility that the game might be postponed. I forbid!!!

  6. Faz took too long to be make a decision. As for Warriors the won’t have it easy against Kalampa! The old days are coming back where the Nkana vs Power,Nkana vs Warriors ,Mighty vs Warriors rivalry used to get us to pack the stadiums. Go Kalampa.

  7. Unfortunateky Kalampa fans have to wait for a while. The game has been postponed becoz GBFC has appealed against the decision.

The culture in FAZ amazes me. I saw this coming. Surely, how do you leave such decisions to the last minute? If FAZ was a serous organization they could have made this decision a long time and leave enough room for the agrieved party to appeal. We could not have gone through this nonsense!!
Anyway, maybe that is expecting too much from a FAZ that is full of jokers!!!

  9. I feel the Football Ass. of Zambia should let the Under23’s play the Cosafa semi-final against the Mambas of Mozambique i don’t know what you guys think. It’s just a suggestion the use this as a training game before their next Olympic qualifier in October.

  10. I know Mozambique is an improved team but let’s not just look at lifting the Cosafa cup which we have easily done in the past.Lets give these young guys an opportunity to have match pratice.Their next game should be against Senegal or Cote-Devoir away the need to be real prepared. It will be tough cos Senegal and the Ivorians are still in the race unlike Mali who are completely out.

  11. Lusaka yonse ni Blue & White ,Warriors.Nkana 4yrs mu division 1 Cha Nsoni.People in Lusaka have 4gotten about you.Mukalila kuli Warriors.Everyone in the stadium will be like Wa-rr io rs.

  13. Ba Davy Chile(14), osa sobela na Kalampa.Tuli kutali buti tili na supporters club nakuno!!Ndise tenze kuitamba Devil Devil during our unmatched dominance of the local league many moons ago.All good things come to end at some time….remember Warriors went into D1 also. The only difference is that Warriors “killed” everyone there and bounced back due to strong sponsorship from ZR.

Tisakila makobili…tikaya peza tibwela kuchita monga Abramovitch and then we shall see our team back to it’s former glory. After kugula, first item on the agenda is to change the name back to Nkana Red Devils FC !! Ka FTJ kenze ka supporter kasu ndiyekamene kanachita influence the dropping of the Red Devils tag !! At the time FTJ was in the middle of a religious frenzy and our team was not spared his hypocrisy !!

    Devil Devil !!
