Senior Chief Kalindawalo urges subjects to engage in mineral exploration

Senior Chief Kalindawalo of the Nsenga people has urged his subjects to undertake mineral exploration in Petauke District.

The senior chief said the district is endowed with plenty mineral resources that
remain unexploited.

The traditional ruler made the call at a meeting with village headmen held at Mtondo
Basic School in his area, yesterday.

He advised people who were aware of areas with potential mineral deposits, to help
with the information in order to facilitate investigations and subsequent
investigations.

Senior Chief Kalindawalo said regretted that his subjects languishing in poverty
while the district was endowed with mineral wealth.

Meanwhile, mining activities are already taking place at Sasali in chief Sandwe’s
area west of Petauke boma.

The chief, however, regretted that such mining activities, that have been taking
place for the past ten years, have not benefited the local people.
