NPS bus reduced to asshes in Mwinilunga

A bus belong to NPS Bus Services has been reduced to ashes after it developed a mechanical fault on its way to Mwinilunga district but no lives were lost.

And when Zambia News and Information Services rushed to the scene found the bus
reduced to a skeleton.

The bus was gutted by fire around 24.00 hours on its way to Mwinilunga 25 kilometers
outside the BOMA and only 6 people were reported to be on board before the bus was
reduced to ashes.

According to one of the eye witnesses who sought anonymity, the bus was stationary
when it was suddenly engulfed in hell fires.

Speaking at the scene Mwinilunga District Commissioner, Webster Samakesa, said he
was saddened by the development.

“Truly I am very saddened with the burning of the NPS bus because it was one of our
reliable means of transport,” he said.

He stressed that NPS bus services was among the most reliable transport that local
people frequently used when traveling to and from to the district.

“It is a serious below to the district in terms of transport as the bus used to
services Mwinilunga, Lusaka directly,” he noted.

Mr Samakesa explained that the cause of the fire has not yet been established as
investigations have since been instituted.
