Clergy slams tortoise bizzare scenes

Share

Two Lusaka Faith-Based organisations have condemned the practice of wichcraft and delivery of threatening letters to people and institutions in the country using the tortoise.

The organisations have also asked Inspector General of Police Ephraim Mateyo to
device a mechanism that would ensure that culprits are severely dealt with.

The Christian Faith Mission Centre (CFMC) says the church is concerned about the
reported cases of satanism and wichcraft as well as the delivering of threatening
letters to some businessmen and some institutions by tortoise on the Copperbelt.

(CFMC) Pastor-In-Charge Pastor Peter Chanda says the practising of witchcraft and
sending tortoise to deliver threatening letters is an indication that the work of
the devil in the country is at its highest level.

Pastor Chanda called on the christian community to be strong and prayerful in an
effort to curtail such vices.

Pastor Chanda told ZANIS in an interview in Lusaka today that the people practising
wichcraft should stop issuing threatening letters in the best interest of the
nation as such actions are frustrating christianity in the country.

The Clergy said there was need for the Zambian people to uphold the declaration of
Zambia as a christian nation and stop issuing threatening letters to people who have
defaulted in payments.

Pastor Chanda warned that those using satanism and wichcraft will be sent to hell
for their actions.

The CFMC Pastor -In-Charge further appealed to the Inspector General of Police
Ephraim Mateyo to ensure that he devices a mechanism that will ensure that the
culprits are severely punished.

Pastor Chanda said the Inspector General of Police should come up with extra
remedial measures that will assist in punishing pepertrators to deter others from
such vices.

He has since appealed to the public to desist from practising satanism and other
vices saying this would affect the christinian faith in the country.

And the Independent Churches of Zambia (ICOZ) has advised the Zambia citizenry not
to practise satanism and wichcraft.

ICOZ Chairperson Reverend David Masupa says although the Zambian Law does not
recognise wichcraft, people should not take advantage of the Law by practising
wichcraft and satanism.

Reverend David Masupa told ZANIS in a seperate interview that it is an abomination
to be using tortoise when sending threatening messages to the people as this is
against Biblical principles.

Rev. Masupa said his organisation is concerned about the continued reports of
tortoise and pigeons being used to deliver letters to businessmen and institution on
the Copperbelt.

He said his organisation condemns the practice in strongest terms as it is not
Biblical and Christian.

Rev. Masupa said when Zambia is a Christian nation and about 80 percent of its
people are christians, there is need to promote christian values and principles
which can help in strengthening the christian community in the country.

The two Lusaka based clergys’ sentiments comes in the wake of a number of reported
cases of tortoise and doves being used to deliver letters of threats to businessmen
and institutions in the country for defaulting payments and other cases.

Yesterday, a tortoise delivered a letter to a Kitwe Magistrate, Phabious Numbwa with
a message demanding the release of the two prisoners whom he allegedly jailed and
currently serving jail terms at Kamfinsa prisons.

This was after another tortoise delivered a threatening letter to a Ndola
businessman. Similar bizarre events have also occurred in Kitwe and Luanshya with
local businessmen being targeted.

  1. PragMAFist is a former teacher at Chizongwe. One day he found a pupil smoking dobo in the bush. He threatens the boy by reprimanding him to the Headmaster. The boy pleaded to work in his backyard garden and eventually they all smoked the weed:
PragMAFist:(after making a puff he passed over dobo to pupil) mwaice kadobo ako.
Pupil: (pupil puffed in return) ba sir, kadobo ako.
    PragMAFist: mwaice, kadobo ako
Pupil: (the pupil getting higher for every puzzi he made and said the following) ka s

  2. #1 cont..
Pupil: (the pupil getting higher for every puzzi he made and said the following) ka sir, Chidobo ico.

You can add what happened to PragMAFist and the boy

  3. Maybe its just me but, I don’t see much relevance in your Dobo scene to this associated story about witchcraft. I stand to be corrected.

  4. I do not understand the comments by the pastor and the Reverend. Are they suggesting that the police should deal with the people practicing such activities? Are they suprised that such things are happening even in a Christian nation? Lets read the time we are living in, then we will understand why certain things are taking place. We need to pray, and only the grace of God can deliver us. Even if the country was 99% christian, the 1% can still bring alot of such things.

  5. Such things may also need a scientific explanation. How do you know maybe such things have been physically trained to deliver letters to certain areas just like we train dogs. Looking at that the story of that girl who claimed to have risen from the dead, the truth came out. The girl did not die, she was just a psychiatric patient from Chainama Hospital. Look at the confusion she made. Even wasting govt resources for DNA tests.

  6. Be prayerful – no evil, no witch is stronger than the blood of Jesus. Pray for all black magic to weaken. Expose the witches and let them come falling down in disgrace.

The Police should be involved when these threatening letters are proved to be from the sender (witch) because threat and harrassment is law breaking. No one has the RIGHT to threaten anyones LIFE.

  7. The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ must rise in one accord in prayer and fasting against all these evil plans of darkness. Our Lord Jesus gave us power ( Luke 10:19 declares behold I give unto you power against the devil and all his hosts.

  8. Hey guys is this for real?Maybe these things have bin trainned to deliver msgs just like #8 said,Ha!ha!ha!. If this is witchcraft or satanism,we seriously need to be praying all christians and non christians. We just got out of hallowen and so satan is active.Lets keep our country in God’s hands and uphold that declaration of it being a Christian Nation.Let’s not take these things light and here I speak for myself as well coz when I first heard abt this I literally burst out laughin.Lets Pray!!!

  9. I agree with Gluco. We shouldn’t rush to declare witch-hunts when there’s a possible natural scientific explanation for the issues. We all know what can happen if we do not carefully draw the line between state and church(just look at what happened in 15th-16th century Europe when people were been burned at the stake based on hear-say accusations). The issue of threats can be dealt with by the law-what happened to natural causes? Must we believe everything has some relation to the devil?

  10. Were is Dr Vongo? I am sure he rise to the challenge with his association to address this small matter of deliveries by Tortoise.
