  1. What a squad. Only about five of the players from this squad will go to Ghana alongside Europe and SA based players. Shame.

  2. Its really an insult to have people like Teddy Mulonga run the most loved sport in the country. Why can’t this fag resign? Most of us we were hoping to see Zambia Playing better side by now instead of wasting tax payers money play TZ, what can we learn from them?

  3. Bushe kanshi ninshi yashupa pa zed?
When our friends are playing friendlies with credible temas like Australia and USA, thats when we are busy playing with Tanzania with a weakened team, many of wom wont even be playing at the AFCoN.Instead of concentrating on proper preps, the coach starts conducting trials. And yet pipo think we ll pull thru the first round. What a joke!!!

  4. Well guys at least we know no that FAZ is up to s**t. We can mourn and mourn and nothing will work out positively. As soccer fans lets unite and give the guys all the morale support they need. Good luck Zambia.

  5. for sure Zambians labeniko ukuwina africa cup. We can see ourselves in preparations. Kwena pa Zm pacili utulo sana in terms of soccer!

  6. PP once coached top team in TZ super league.Manje nachaula ati after AFCON nishi jobaz yavana so he has gone there to sell his CV and dont be surprised ngamwaufwa ati PP ni coach wa TZ national team.Honestly, under FIFA ranking we are 60 and TZ 106 in the world. If we win it will be useless to celebrate fanika TZ ni baka budo ku osccer.

  7. Zambia national team can only attract teams that are at their level. Let’s be fair to FAZ. The likes of Brazil, Argentina, Portugal, Italy cannot ply their boys at great cost to their tax payers to play a makeshift outfit like Zed. Wake up and smell the coffee. Zed must earn the respect to play elite teams. Ghana cos they qualified to the world cup and held their own against Brazil can now play Brazil in friendlies. Twachepa sana, ishita taila fika play TZ for now!

  8. The best Pat can do is strengthen the same squad that gave Bafana2 a drabbing…things like sharpening the frontline, toughening our backline, forming cohesion in the Mid-field. Making the team adaptable to change when need be, strengthening their mindset and self believe. Zambia can do it. Proposed outwork routine.

  9. Anonymous Soccer Fan i beg to disagree with you South Africa has been able to play bigger teams but the are ranked lower than Zambia in the World Rankings.Namibia played Saudi Arabia who a few weeks ago whacked Ghana in a friendly.Friendlies has nothing to do with what you saying but just the right connections and being able to Negotiate. On #9 atleast i can agree on some areas.

  10. honestly, faz should have no problem getting friendlies. they should have them organized, they know these dates are coming up, like everyone else does. tunisia is in sa group, tunisia would want to play southern african opposition in preperation, we want to play north africans so it works out for both of us, just organize yourself faz. the same as the teams in group a, we could have friendly against ghana, against morocco, against guinea.

come on faz get people who can arrange these things.

  11. Anonimous, as much as we agree that big teams like Brazil wouldnt be willing to play agaist us i friendlies, i guess we could line up friendlies with some good african tema such as Ghana, Nigeria Tunisia etc.
Mind you they are also preparing for the same tournament and would defnetly like to meet some African opposition outside of their groups.
As long as can can prepare well in advance we can manage to play one or two of them good teams

  12. Tanzania 1 Zambia 0,Final score.Tanzania scored in the 2nd minute. Zambia
    Michael Pinto
    Clive Hacilensa
    William Cinyama
    Kennedy Nketani
    Rodgers Kamwandi
    Shafti Kakunta
    Rainford Kalaba
    Adubelo Phiri
    Francis Kombe
    Ignatius Lwipa
The report says Michael Chuma scored the only goal against a ‘Star-studded’ Zambian side. The report does not indicate who was the 11th player for Zambia.I honestly wonder what we got from this game someone tell me?

  13. # Sibs,

I have confirmed the results and you are right. It is so sad that we have to lose to a second-string TZ team.

Any it is now common knowledge that we have lost direction and we need redemption.

    Below is my posting

  14. MARCIO Maximo’s policy of putting faith in youngsters was rewarded instantly, when the Kilimanjaro Stars defied the odds to stun Zambia 1-0 in a friendly match played yesterday at the old National Stadium.

Maximo came under fire when he decided to drop experienced players in favour of young, inexperienced ones for upcoming Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup matches as well as next year’s joint qualifiers for 2010 World Cup/Cup of Nations finals.

But the critics were silenced just two minutes in

  15. I think the problem with zambian football is too much experiments with the team, how on earth can Phiri play a different team for preparations and another team for the AFCON?twali belela ukusebana pa zed…kaili na Great Kalu twalimupontela kale…

  16. You are all refusing to accept swallowing bitter pills which unfortunately you have to. Anonymous soccer fan no 8 is very right and frank with the way things are. How do you expect big teams to come and waste their valuable time and tax payers money playing weak teams like Zed? You can see for yourselves now Tz is hammering Zed big time. That’s the level at which Zed is under that Chikala Phiri. lets concetrate on playing such teams like lesotho, Swaziland, Malawi to avoid humiliation.

  17. The most disturbing part of the whole thing is that we lost to a second-string Tanzanian team. Twasebana pafula. Tuchitepo chimo.

  18. Sorry guys I could not give you the final score due to technical problems. Iam sure by now you the final results. I watched the game and to be frank with you guys, I was shocked to see Zambia playing like a secondary school team. A lot has to be done before the team travels to Ghana. I would love to see Zambia reach the semi finals. Support the team and good luck

  19. Twasebana bane pafula! Bushe tukasambilila lilali? Was PP preparing the NT for Afcon or Zesco utd for the confederations cup next year? Are we realy serious as a country in everything we do? NCC, FOOTBALL PREPS, STADIA CONSTRUCTION,SA2010, 2011 ALL AFRICA GAMES…Let us not even blame lack of funds, pafya bupuba shilamoneka(bye-elections). Atase!

  20. These are the repercussions of having semi-normal or is it abnormal people in crucial leadership positions. This is too much. Faki this is bullshit. Matha fakas dont learn.

  21. At times one can sympathize with the guys that are insulting. Our leaders don’t listen.I know all has been said on this blog.Earlier on we were told the N.T was going to camp in Germany for a week and then proceed to Nigeria/Togo…. Latest is that Faz has presented a Budget of so billions to Govt part of this is to camp the team in Spain or Italy. What has happened to Germany now? Not that Gelemani is better but i feel Faz shud have started planing immediately we beat South Africa now we
    Cont

  22. find ourselves making last minute preps like playing Tanzania with a team which wont play in Ghana serve for 3 players or so.Check out Kaumba’s comments after the team was whacked 4-1 and look at Steven McClaren who’s just been sacked as England Manager,he said “i take the Ultimate responsibility of what has happened i pick the team”.Gentlemen we seriously need an Expatriate coach to work with P.P after the A.Cup.Theres a lot of inconsistency with some of the local Coaches.Today we beat S.A
    Cont

  23. tomorrow we going to lose to Tanzania or Chad.Lets also take P.P and F.Simukonda for further training the will make us more proud in future and then maybe we can judge them better when the fail. When we beat Mozambique 3-1 in the semifinals of the Cosafa i thought P.P would keep the same team for the final but alas the team changed. The boys that played in the semis if the had played in the final believe me or not would beaten S.A ,that game wouldn’t have gone to penalties.Consistency.

  24. Well guys what haven’t we said on this blog concerning the FAZ and GRZ lack of seriousness. They have been insulted and called all sorts of names but its like pouring petrol on a flame. May be to show them how concerned and frustrated we are as fans, how about boycotting all home WC 2010 qualifiers and push for the impeachment of the FAZ executive.

  25. Lekeni nefyakulanda nomba. Natuchita exhaust fyonse. The only thing here is to persuade govt & faz to act and bring about sanity in Zambian soccer, issues like stadium, friendly matches, player selection, expatriate coach recruitment, preparation for 2010 (forget about Ghana 2008 we are out), All-Africa games 2011 and infrastructure, etc, should be dealt with now. PERIOD.

  26. RN Pretoria #36,We yet to know if we will play those games at home or away.We just pray it’s not the later.God help us!

  27. In Zambia mostly,we are let down by Soccer Administrators as talent is in great abundance,i dont see any reason why zambia shud fail to call pros for friendlies when south africa is doing it almost every month, patrick lacks common sense when it comes to the selection of players and his assistant was a failure at his former club…ifyabupuba fye abakulu…

  28. #37 Anonymous

I agree with you. We need to convince these people in authority if the face of zambian football is to change positively.

  29. it’s actually true that we are consciously and willingly about to throw away our little resources come Ghana AFCON 2008. Im lamenting terribly because all that we have paid in the past as tax will be wasted just like that. I tell you, there is nothing at all except embarrassment that we will achieve in Ghana. Take my words seriously!!

  30. How long has Zambia been participating in the Africa cup of nations since it started? Why have we never ever qualified to the world cup? why do we have poor stadiums, poor coaching staff? Will our going to Ghana next year make any change?

  31. While Zambia was busy losing to a second string Tanzania, Nigeria, using their second string team, beat Switzerland 1-0. What hope do you have at the Nations Cup finals against such high flying teams as Nigeria?

  32. Iwe#42 Fred K waba amatako ukubutuluka. stanyoko what are you trying to say we mbwa we.bring out your own opinion chikala. You are no different from P. Kaumba and Phiri- dander-heads.

  33. molakisi # 44 Malawi, thanks for the insults, it shows that you are still childish. here you do not just need to just talk anyhow, think first and ask yourself questions. can’t you see that we need to look at what has gone wrong in our soccer in Zambia. without thinking about such issues, we shall not make progress as the saying goes, “words are words, explanations are explanations but only perfomance is the reality”. Zambia needs to adress many issues if soccer has to improve.

  34. #44 Molakisi, Malawi, chikala cha wiso get out of this blog matha faka. What wrong has Fred done stanyako. I have been monitoring you chikala. Wabe tole kwikoshi pumbafu. You cursed ass-licking hyena. You are a frustrated chap trying to vent your inabilities on innocent people tomba noko. Faki you.

  35. At last we hearing some good news that The National Team is to play Algeria,Tunisia on 6/01/08 and hopefully Spain and Nigeria. Thanks to the Football Association of Zambia for this,it’s good to give credit where it’s due.We just hope at least 2 or 3 of these games materialize. Please don’t give us heart aches by trying to play Spain without the a full team otherwise we will be given a terrible hiding.

  36. Sibs, man where did you get this unbelievable news from. If its really true, then that will be great. I hope its not just one of those talks by FAZ.

  37. #47 anonymous makaka. For you its not suprising to try and hit back that way. Infact you’re just a hoodrum from Chibolya compound and I know you for real. I just wonder really how you manage to access the net kolwe iwe. Fred K #45, sorry for the words used.

  39. #46 anonymous makaka. For you its not suprising to try and hit back that way. 40. Billy #49. It’s in the Times Of Zambia.I couldn’t believe it either the Faz General Secretary Fidelis Banda said this in Lusaka yesterday.

This means that Zambia will avoid all the other Top 12 Teams in Africa for the Draw of the 2010 World Cup in Durban. The First 12 Teams will all be in Pool A of the draw where 12Groups of 4 Teams will play each other on home and away basis.12 Group winners and 8 best placed/
Losers, will then be later in 2008 be drawn into 5 groups of 4.Then the 5 winners (Cont)

  46. Thanks Sibs for the info. Whatever the outcome of Sunday’s WC 2010 preliminary draws, we should take each and every team in our group seriously. Upsets are the order of the day in football these days. Check what happened to England.

  47. Yeah, that was some good info post #60 Sibs RSA. One thing I have noticed is that we have very passionate Zambian soccer bloggers that have critically analyzed the problems facing our game. The question to ask is, “Are we all backing at the wrong tree?” Like somebody pointed out, we need to turn out words into action. Neo says, “I’m a movement by myself, but I’m a force when we’re together.” Let us unite as a force together and wake FAZ up from their slumber to revive Zambian soccer!

  48. DRC is win over Zambia very much if in same group company for world cup. Government of DRC now workn very very hard to enter world cup qualification. But Zambia is destroyed by coach now.

  49. The information being given by some of the guys here is so helpful to some of us, not those fools and *****s who are continously insulting each other on this blog. They should all go to hell without exception b’cause they are just the same in character- Anonymous#59, Molakisi#44 and Mudenda#57. I don’t want to see such rubbish again on this blog from any of you. Keep your dirt away fron us!!
