  2. Chamanga is the fastest striker in South Africa. His hat trick in 20 minutes has broken the record. He is also on par as a top scorer in the PSL.

  3. Jacob Mulenga akosefye umwaiche, he will go far. He has the physique and height, and the french like such players. Thats why they like West Africans. Players like Drogba, Benjani, Essien, Adebayor etc started in France and then ended up in big leagues like the premiership. All the best Jacob.

  4. Billy #3 .I totally agree with you on Jacob if he carries on like this he will go far.Give him another season or two in the French Ligue1 then he will have developed and matured into a seasoned Striker.Guys what the criteria for a Player being voted the Most Valuable Player of the Season? Is it his achievements, skills & ability on the pitch or the number of cards he got in a Season. Then if its the cards then Defenders who are more sustainable to Red & Yellow cards won’t stand a chance cos Contd

  5. the will be ducked points.I know its different if one player Head buts another player on the chest or hes been insulting much officials and the sent off.I am not saying Kalaba or Mayuka deserved the award more than the other.I personally don’t mind if either one of them won but it had to be on Merit and deservedly.

  6. # 4&5 Sibs I hear you.Kalaba is the player of the season and no doubt about it.If you remember very well, Willie Chikuka picked up a quarrel with Kalaba and his father early this year that is why he did not want the young man to be crowned player of theyear.Granted, Kalaba has a poor disciplinary record other measures would have sufficed to correct this. We should not dwell much on personal issues.Mayukwa is a good player for the future and he needs encouraged to go forward. He does not this mes

  7. I wholeheartedly agree with you guys, Sibs and Kemps. Kalaba is the rightful winner of the award. Merit matters, but of course discipline is important. But we cannot take anything from the young man (Kalaba) that he is Zambia’s best local player. Welly Chikuka has some scores to settle. Mayuka is a star but most importantly future star.

  8. if indeed the young man Kalaba is indisciplined then he has no future in the game.Kalu and Charles succeeded becoz of humility and personal discipline.if the pocket change the young man has is already confusing him he will never amount to anything…he will just join the long list of wasted zambian talent!!Ba Chikuka probably had a point and unless Kalaba’s father is like Benjamin Bwalya Snr,the boy will never succeed….so sad!!

  9. Just a comment for Chamanga, i was not personally impressed with his game in our last COSAFA loss to RSA. If he has to prove he is better than Adubelo. He really needs to pull up his socks.

In football, anything is possible. Chamanga can definitely do better

  10. I agree with number 9. Chamamnga has been average for the national team. How can we be excited about one game where he scores five goals in a weak league. Chamanga has had his opportunities and failed period.

  11. Guys I honestly believe Mayuka should go to Ghana. Katongo will miss the first match. The only player capable filling the void is Mayuka.

  14. People I think Kalaba is still growing in his game and he needs our support. We have a lot of players down in the past by just saying they are indisciplined so they must rot in hell. It is a wrong mentality.

Kalaba needs our support. Look at Nigeria they were struggling with Obi Mikel’s discipline but look at him now (a world star) Some people need advise and support.

Lets protect our youngman. We are very fast in judging people. We all have weaknesses. Kalaba will go a long way in football

  15. I agree with Kemps #15. Kalaba needs counselling and encourangement. He is young and needs proper guidance. Remember how indiscipline Wayne Rooney was 3 years ago. He has been rehabilitated and is now a world class striker. It is not too let. We should not let Kalaba follow Emmanuel Zulu’s foot steps.

  18. Kalaba is a great player and can do much more and definately deserves the footballer of the year honor and will definately be a motivating factor going to AFCON.
As for Mayuka he is an upcoming star who should take this as a challenge so that he will play better next year.

  19. RMK 1 #9 and Anonymous #10, I totally disagree with your analysis of Jame Chamanga, what do you expect a player to do when a team is assemebled just 2 days before the cup final? And the supply line was not effective for zambia in the Cosafa cup final against South Africa Now read this. James chamanga on wednesday scored 2 goals against Free state stars and Moroka Swaloows won 2-0. He i the leading top goal scorer in PSl with 9 goals. All playes in the team have had a chance and most of them

  20. have disappointed. Its not only chamanga. The whole team has failed the nation when it is expected to deliver and then you single out one player, you are not being fair. To me Chamanga is is good he has the pace and skill and he deserves a call up to the national soccer team.
