Chieftainess Mwenda of Mazabuka in Southern Province has condemned the defilement of a four- year- old minor and has since called for the immediate arrest of the suspects linked to the sexual assault.
The Chieftainess told ZANIS in Mazabuka today that all men found guilty of sexually abusing minors will be castrated instead of handing them to the Police services.
Chieftainess Mwenda said she will work closely with management of Chikankata hospital to ensure people suspected of defiling minors are immediately castrated to reduce the rising cases of defilement in her chiefdom.
She complained that her Chiefdom has of late been turned into a defilement base because most of the culprits were allegedly left scot free due to the absence of Police officers to man Malabo police post.
The Chieftainess said it is disheartening to see minors being defiled and their lives ruined while culprits enjoyed their freedom.
The royal highness said, she has since gone into a partnership with the Law and Development Association (LADA) to help sensitise her subjects.
Last week, Chikankata Mission Hospital Administrator, Richard Bradbury said the hospital administration is concerned with the increased cases of minors defiled and receiving treatment from the hospital.
Mr Bradbury told ZANIS, his administration has since sought the intervention of the Chieftainess to help reduce a wave of defilement cases.
Mwenfumu how do you castrate people without letting the law take its course.what shes advocating for is unconstitutional.There is a need firstly to change the law.At the moment there is no law which states that all defilers must be castrated.Its very disheartening to hear such cases and one wonders why a sane man can sleep with a 4 yr old girl.Its really bad i think its something to do with traditional healers who cheat HIV positive patients that they get cured by sleeping with toddlers.Others do it in the hope of becoming rich.This is nonsense and any traditional healer advocating for that must also face the wrath of the law,for abetting a crime.

Much of we really appreciate the centiments from victims and societies! but we must first of all change the law as learned counsel#1 put it, then enforce.I think our legislatures are listening and eforts are been made to reduce this crime,so far the minimum sentence of defilement is 14 years meaning one can be sentenced even for life depending on the gravit of the case!
Lets open our eyes and look for these men and women abusing children and report them to the authorities. We actualy live with them in our homes so be mindful and observant!

#5, If you have a child, let alone a girl, you would do better than say that to the Chieftainess. What she is saying is out of emotions expressed by a mother who loves her child. What these defilers need is a much more stiffer punishment that would leave a mark on them. What is a 14 year jail term to a man of 22 years? He will come out of jail at 36 years, a time when he is even much more sexually active. The govt needs to come up with a severe punishment for these devils!
Lets establish what really causes defilers to f**k innocent children.Then we can tackle the problem from there.it could be mental disorder,psycological,myths or total madness.i know of a man who used to sleep on the same bed with his 9yrs old daughter after his wife died.He ended up defiling her repeatedly.unfortunately nothing has been to him despite reporting him to the police but the daughter has since been taken away from him.
The law has to be stiffen on the devils.catration is not a solution, its against human rights charter of the UN.
What if the suspect is castrated and then its found out that actually he didnt defile the child. How do you reverse the process of castration? Remember castrated bulls will never have the ability to sire calves and so is a man who undergoes voluntary or forced castration.
Much as i dont support defilers, let the law prove they are guilty before they are sent to the hospital for removal or may be decapitation of the manhood so it will never rise up from its sleep

Thsre is need to open up a child offenders register so that all the offenders will be registered.Certain jobs such as those involving working with children should engage people who have undergone thorough screening.
I’M for the castration! I would personally nail those balls of the men who rapes children. Small children are tortured by grown up men who savagely abuse them. Almost every woman has had unpleasant experince when she “does it for the first time” but the pain and trauma that those innocent kids have to go through will have a life long impact on them.

Subjecting a 4yr old to any kind of sexual penetration is not only unconscionable, it is inhumane and degree of attempted murder.It leaves both physical and psychological trauma on the victim. Such trauma manifests itself in various ways as the victim grows. They can become murderes, rapists,of the worst kind as aresult.Perpetrators of these types of heneious crimes should be punished accordingly by instituting constitutional laws that will harshly punish these pigs in such a way that they will never see the light of day again.But we cannot allow ourselves to become a lynch mob nation!
Here in this state, there has been very strong advocation for such sexual predators,especially pedophiles to not only register as sex ooffenders, which they are already required to do,but also to be monitored by GPS if out on the streets again after serving lengthy sentences from as much as 30yrs to life if convicted of child molestation/defilement. Obviously we are not at a stage where we can electronically monitor such offenders but as someone suggested a sex offender registry is a start and uncompromising lengthy harsh sentences, say 40yrs, a formidable deterrant. Galvanise our lawmakers to take up this matter ASAP by lobbying our MP,s and Ministers.
It is sad to note. This is a case that needs a lot to be done in as far as area of sensitizing the general public is concerned. In as much as making the punishment stiff can contribute to reducing numbers of such incidents, the other part would be to have Zambia adopt or participating in social activities as Child/sexual abuse Awareness week with teachings including but not limited to: child abuse prevention, child abuse education, why child sexual abuse occurs, and how to identify child sexual abusers etc.
Would be great if the process of sensitizing is done both in communities and in schools. In some traditions/Zambian cultures; it has been noted in the past (dont how prevalent the problem might be at present) that young girls have always suffered sexual abuse at the hands of their brother inlaws mostly in times when the brother inlaw’s wife was pregnant etc. Sadly almost all the cases have gone unreported, (either because when the young girls brought it to the attention of adults, they werent believed, or the family did minimization of the issue for fear of what happens if the bread winner is sent to jail etc) the poor girls suffer emotional scars/wound caused by the event for the rest of th

Defilement = castration, i think Parliament would not object to amending the law. It’s a befitting punishment for such a veil and repulsive act.
