Forum for Leadership wants First Lady to be the next President

Share

The Forum for Leadership Search – Zambia has announced that it will be petitioning First Lady Maureen Mwanawasa on her decision not to participate as a presidential candidate in the 2011 presidential elections.

Forum Executive Director Edwin Lifwekelo told ZANIS in Lusaka today that his organisation would be going round the country to collect signatures for the process.

Mr. Lifwekelo said the first lady has leadership qualities that can add value to Zambia’s democratic dispensation and to uplifting the standards of women and the country as a whole.

He added Mrs. Mwanawasa can contribute significantly to both the political and economic governance of the nation.

He however stated the responsibility of choosing credible leaders lies with political parties.

Mr. Lifwekelo said political parties such as MMD need to be given time to identify a credible leader that will take over from president Levy Mwanawasa.

  1. This is why Africa will never develop, leaders want to rule forever. No way, WE WANT CHANGE. You’ll face the wrath of my vote as i put it into the ballot box.

  2. Edwin Lifwekelo is at it again, He is one of the first people to call for Chiluba third term, He had teamed up with Mike Zulu. With funding from state they initiated the third term debate to an extent that it the third term became an institution. Remember third team adverts on Radio, TV and newspaper, that was Edwin Lifwekelo work. Remember He was paid to register PF as a founder while Sata was still MMD SG. Just like the way Chiluba paid him, the first Lady might have paid him to paddle the debate. This are just the first stages of the debate. Next time it will be an opinion poll in support of Maureen.

  3. not impressed! Ifyabupubafye!! I suppose nobody woill agree that she is instigating this debate, huh? Well, I’ll give you a nickle’s worth of advice- she and her cronies are behind all. They want to conme back and say that “she did not want to stand for Presidency, but then ppo were asking her to”- cheap nonsense!

  4. y not? if Hillary can stand so can Maureen. ‘one for oneself and God for us all’ not her fault her husband is a president!! she can aspire too.

  5. Canadian! Thats why there is confusion in the democrats. Coz bill wants to hang on to power thru hillary. The couple even resorted to tribalism, (or do you call it racism). I used to respect and love bill. Not since they started playing race cards all for the sake of greedy.

I am sure what he saw between the legs of monica totally confused the chap. or his he doing this for fear of being divorced by his husband. sorry is it wife? This thing is contagious-women slaughter has come to zambia!

  6. #7, canadian, your comparison of the Clintons to the mwanawasas is an insult to our intelligence, let alone to Bill and hillary! But I guess U R right. This is the kind of thinking that all psychophantic African leaders eventually come to think that once they get in the door they are entitled to continue ruling over their people ad infinituum.

  7. #4, DPP, thanks for the timely reminder. Come 2011 and the new presido has been sworn-in, let’s remember to investigate the *****s such as Forum for Leadership Search Zambia and Lifwekelo, Teka Farms, ZESCO, and the entire family tree B.S.! and then throw them all in jail and throw away the keys.

  8. Please Lifwekele this is not your Zambia alone. Are you sponsored by the first lady? Where are you getting the money which is making you think Zambia will be ruled by the Mwanawansas in 2011? Your memory is very short and your name speaks for itself. You better keep the money your agents are giving you to try to destabilize Zambia for your children or you will be a sorry sight in 2011. Remember how some NGOs in Fredrick Chiluba wanted him to go for 3rd term because they were benefiting from his money? this how it is with you now. You are wasting your precious time buddy…. NO 3rd TERM for the Mwanawansas.

  9. to hell with that! ata….amano ububi! and please dont compare hillary with maurine! coz hillary is a 100 levels above our first lady!

  10. Ati forum for leadership search….! kuki banani….? Edwin is just trying to earn a living…kissing up to LPM. waste of time find something better,…get a life.

  11. We do not want leaders who are imposed on us. Edwin, its not up to you to tell us who is the right person. I think we are educated enough to know who can lead this great nation. if you want a job in govt. just say so, you dont have to hide behind jokes like this one. kafwile ukutali Edwin. twakana bamwanawasa. abash.

  12. Dont we have high calibre people that can save us from this nonsense,is presidency a bedroom thing, wife en husband, hell no, then betty kaunda en later on regina or vera should come first, this maureen babe should relax, she is wasting her time here in zambia it can not happen cause we gat more obarma’s than states do.
    sata where are you

  13. I thought Maurenn made a statement to the effect that she was not interested in contesting for the presidency.

  14. Number 7 it seems you have a very shallow way of analysing and comparing politics. Hillary has proved herself and rose through the political ranks over the years. Right now she is a Senator. She was not petitioned to stand as democratic presidential candidate by some useless bootlickers. And right now her fight with BArack Obama shows that she is a seasoned ploitician who doesnt want to rule the country through the back door

  15. This issue is dead and buried… Zambians we are more sensibles than most in the region. Maureen is not going to be president. Any adoption of her will just be a step backwards as Zambian will end up voting for Satanic Verses so that he can fix the Family Tree once and for all. LPM and your Maureen Go while Zedian are still smiling at you

  16. here we go again. has he been paid or what? its time we stop this stupidity. its polluting our ears, can’t take it anymore. the guy must be insane or something like that.

  17. The organisations push for the first lady to president so that they can still get favourable treatment and positions after 2011. This is why you see a lot of blind overzealous followers pushing for Mrs Maureen Mwanawasa, they are stakeholders and if change in leadership was to come in 2011 they will lose their positions of prestige.Same thing happened with Kaunda and Chiluba governments the people that stand to lose and to be replaced will be the most vociferous towards keeping the old leadership

  18. this is interesting, i heard one time that maureen had a secret lover.may be things have started to show, she cant rule Zed even in the next world. one zambia one nation, not one zambia one mwanawasa one.

  19. Ba Chips thanks 4 that info. But which (spokes chola-God forbid) asked her to stand 4 presidency? To me this is like testing the reaction of people (and they know it) to their (mwanawasas) fantacies of staying in power for keeps by passing a rumour in form of a question. After confirming what they already know, then quickly maureen goes public to say she’s not interested in standing 4 presidency. I dont know what the leaders of zambia think. They are full of sh%t. 1st it was kaunda taking us 4 fools, then chiluba, and 2day is cabbage or is it garbage? You must be out of your heads to think that zambians will continue to be stupid *****s. cont.

  20. In the 1st most if not all zambians who went abroad I am pretty sure would like to come back and join their brothers and sisters and contribute to the development their belove and beautiful zambia. However, dont scare them with your careless stupidity. Do you think zambians are that blind as to fail to choose for themselves. Guys mubeko serious. Just drink chibuku and eat the money you are being bribed with with your families instead of daring zambians with such myopic foolishness.

  21. You mean Inonge M.Lewanoka shud be given chance since she has already shown to be more than capabe yeap.Cool, theorgof abantu bonse willbe collecting signatures fromwest tonorth toeast allaroud zambia.Inonge standstand stand

  22. #32
Inonge can be a better devil than those seeking 4 the third term bid. The lady is of high calibre and she exihibits good leadership qualitities compared Moureenhoho. Let her try but this will not come on a silver plate, she will have to prove her worth to the electrorates in all corners of Zed. One Zambia, One Nation.

  23. off-side!

This issue was closed by Mrs Maureen Mwanawasa herself.

The latest from L. Edwin is to deceive the Zambian people of something happening behind the scene. yaba.

Let us see how this game will unfold.

  24. I used to work for Barnetts/Supreme group back and this Edwin fella was contracted to collect monies owed by customers of the group, my Lord did they get the dough? Edwin skimmed them clean and was no where to be seen. With money calling the tune this time around, the man will definitely do anything to have it. His is such a pathological lover of money.

  25. I was so proud that Mwanawasa is a no-nonsense democratically sound leader. He called for the SADC meeting to discuss Zimbabwe while in the back door he is looking for a third term thru the wife….poor Africa. Power corrupts, i guess.
I am not against Mama Maureen running but why just after her husband…wants to use state’s rigging appurutus to remain in power?

  26. Oh hell no! Lord have mercy! What on earth is going on in Zambia. Its evidently clear that it is indirect continuation of her husband’s control of state house. Please spare us this dictatorial rulership and the hour has come for old papa Mwanawasa to go and let young blood take over.

  28. iwe lifwekelo ishina ububi uleichindika amano ububi, think before you open your toilet to talk fool.To hell with your pay master.

  29. Maureen sucks………………who the hell does she think she is??????? Satan get behind us, we want peace in our peaceful Zambia

  30. Let’s not be too harsh with the first lady. She may be genuinely inspired by other female leaders like Sirleaf Johnson of Liberia or Angela Merkel in Germany. However, we know very well that there are a also other capable Zambian women for presidency like Gwen Konie. Let them step forward and challenge the president instead of leaving it up to his wife.

  31. This is the reason many Zambians abroad cant come back and its sad. I know many if not lots want to come back but its politics thats chasing them away. Govt, can you behave yourselves. We miss our brother and sisters. Uncles and Aunties and we want them to be in Zambia. You guys fought so we can be free in Zambia but your politics is chasing people away and they are going back to the colonial masters that you fought against. Why are you doing this, you fought so we can not be slaves to the west yet your politics sends us to be slaves to the west. Zambia, WAKE UP AND GROW UP. I urge all political leaders to take some history or civics classes on Zambian as well as African history.

  32. Ok, every Citizen has aconstitutional right to aspire for anything and that includes the presidency. Maureen can cotest if she wants and you the voters can reject her democraticaly just like the Clintons are being rejected in the US. While Iam on the Clintons, Please #20, check the History of the Clintons Political machine before you continue praising Hilaary’s Political career, its one full of Flip floping and a lot of dubious and suspicious dealings. For starters, check out “The Clinton Chronicles” Maybe it will give you a clue of who the Clintons really are. You can find it on Google Videos.

  33. Very sad indeed. Of all the people why Edwin Lifwekelo? Is he just alone in his head or he is with demons confusing him. Very soon it will be Alfred Saila and the generation party. Once again we dont want an indirect third term and who ever is advocating for this must be stoned.

  34. Kolwe a shilabengwa enda nabufyonoka Bring them I will win the elections in 2011.Edwin come on with Maureen and see red

  35. LT Admin, can we please have worthy news than covering Kandile’s (suckers)like Edwin. No different from parliamentary prostitutes. (Sorry I meant crosstitutes).

  36. LT Editors:

Please do not become a platform for anarchy in Zambia by allowing nutheads such as Edwin and Moleen to derail the nation. Sex is sweet, but so is decency in the country. Far and most, we want decency in tha governancy of the nation. Do not let sex starved people become our leaders.

  37. First Lady Maureen Mwanawasa will only become president in Edwin Lifwekelo’s wet dreams! Not in Zambia.

  38. First Lady Maureen Mwanawasa will become president only in Edwin Lifwekelo’s wet dreams! Not in Zambia.

  39. Who knows maybe edwin tested moreens at parliament hotel. How else can one exlain this. You never trustthese mmdThey slaughter and ones someone slaughters they go mad.Thgey kan do anything.john niwovuta ask Dany.

  40. Myself #48, ‘The Clinton chronicles’ is a satirical/propagandist book-pamphlet penned by a conservative think tank foundation of the republican party in its all out effort to keep Hillary out of the White House. Also pay attention to the fact that many of these conservative forums and media in the USA are embracing Obama while fiercely bashing Clinton. As for Maureen, many have blogged that Zambians are too smart to be hoodwinked again. So why not let her exercise her right as a citizen and let the ballot box sort her out if that were the case?

  41. For all that has been said. I beg to learn the political expirience which the oga madam has? Apart fom being a lawyer and first lady. I believe her other duties involve charities….
Let her start as a councilor somewhere and show us what she can do. Not as oga madam but servant of the people. Maybe in the next 500yrs!!!!!!!!!!
