Sata out of danger

Share

Patriotic Front Leader, Michael Sata, who suffered a heart attack on Friday, is said to be out of danger.

Mr. Sata who is still in the intensive care unit at Johhanesburg’s Milpark clinic in South Africa, is also reported to be responding well to treatment.

This is according to PF Spokesperson, Given Lubinda.

Mr. Lubinda said in the Zambian capital, Sunday that Mr. Sata’s condition has tremendously improved from the time he was flown out to Milpark clinic on Saturday.

He said doctors attending to Mr. Sata said the PF leader will be moved from the Intensive care unit to the cardiac ward in a few days time.

Mr. Lubinda said the opposition party is hopeful that Mr. Sata will soon recover and return home.

Government facilitated Mr. Sata’s evacuation after President Levy Mwanawasa issued a directive to fly out him out for specialised treatment.

  1. That was a good gesture by the President of the republic of Zambia.Continue with that kinda spirit sir. This shows that no matter how people might differ in the way they handle their political tables, they still have that love for each other.Zambia…zambia what a good democratic world we have.
    I love Zambia

  2. I hope he will appreciate the president for this and stop his simple attacks over the presidents healthy.

  3. great news Hon Sata. Hope you move out of IC Unit as soon as possible so we can get your true condition from the horse’s mouth.

In the meantime, all the best in your recovery Mr PF President Sata MC.

  4. I wish this man a quick recovery too, however, I hope this was a learning curve for him… pity it’s a bit late, my mother tought me not to laugh at other peoples disabilities when I was very young.

  5. Quick trecovery sir. I hope this is not just a political statement. how can someone be out of danger when he is still in the intensive care unit, and he is expected to be out of the same in a few DAYS time. Why days??????????? and not minutes?
All the same quick recovery sir and come home so that you tell your story.

  6. I can’t wait to listen to ba Sata’s comment over this evacuation to Milpark Hosp. in RSA.
    A quick recovery please.

  7. Great news.Just food for thought,my uncle recently died of similar condition as there were no facilities at UTH nor resources to evacaute him.
If we improved the standards at UTH,even our president could do his annual MOT there thus serving all and sundry and saving more lives and saving our scarce forex.

  8. #14 bondate mu teni? ko kwalusaka, mui ketile? Good point unless all the presidents see the need to improve our hospitals, the poor will continue to die while them are flown abroad, i wonder how they feel, by this act of sending patients out and selling or marketing RSA and they call themselves a GOVT SHAME ON THEM!!!
    Meantime WAR TO THE VOTERS.

  9. MAKWETI {14} WHAT DID YOU UNCLE DO FOR MOTHER ZAMBIA?

THE AGENT-FINLAND{6} SHOW US A PICTURE OF YOUR MOTHER OR WIFE WE SEE IF THEY LOOK BETTER

  10. He draws crowds and people go their to listen. He has alternatives otherwise people would not be drawn to him. We wish you all the best Honorable Sata.

  11. #17
LIFE IS LIFE ITS NOT A MATTER OF WHO DID WHAT? WE ARE ALL EQUAL ON EARTH, CHULA, DONT THINK LIKE A FROG MAN!!!
START BY SHOWING US YOR PICS MAN HOPE YOU ARE NOT A REAL FROG!!!

  12. # 21
    Well said.Thanks.

But to you # 17…You are the same people who were criticising levy’s looks not too long ago. levy looks better than this old cobra…ghosh. You must be a real frog( watch yourself).

  13. I repeat: “The looks” Not such people for plot 1. I have never seen such ugly looks among the past and current presidents.

  14. Daddy ba Sata you are over working youself for nothing. No one in this outside world would like to be ruled by a dictatar thats what you are yes!!!!

  15. Your time for presidency is long gone, please give us a breake let other people sell their capabilities to the people of Zed.Enough is enough allaaa!!!

  16. The Agent-Finland! I think u such a bunch of useless materials.We need brains,not beauty where leadership’s concerned.show us yo father’s pic.Keep it up Levy,quick recovery Cobra.

  17. My uncle King Cobra was critisizing other leaders for being active in politics whilst they were “sick”. What about him what is he going to do? Suffering an acute heart attack is not a simple thing where someone can recover within a year and besides you need a lifestyle change…..no smoking, few women, less talking and you do notneed to easily get excited. lol he will get advice from his friend FTJ. The King Cobra has been critisizing other leaders for going abroad for medical treatment…what about him? Lesa ni malyotola…

  18. # 26. Sirtm
Sata has no brains. I can prove to you that he only has cadre mentality. Have you seen his CV? in 1980, I personally handled his CV.Its below average.

  19. the life of a human being must be respected whether this person is good or bad, big or small, rich or poor.the line is the life of mr.sata or levy must must be respected.big ups to levy for allowing his opponent in the political world,to access medication from SA.let us be real here the fact is it is not levy paying for sata’s medications in SA but the people of zambia who ar highly taxed.i think the president should just declare and make it open for every zambia to access medication from SA.we can see now that the govrn.has fail to provide

  20. Ali #31, I can’t make sense of your last paragraph, especialy where you state that the ‘the president should… Chizungu chanipita, do you mind posting again in simple english?

  21. So, Sata knows when he will die. He is ‘not dying now’. But he better cut down on smokes, stop using viagra, if indeed he has been. kwik recovery bosses…we do not want to miss your comedy. But, i am afraid, the line about Levy being ‘sick’ will has lost the punch now.

  22. Those that were wishing Sata ill health will be very disappointed. Perhaps they are already so. God is the source of life. If your appointed time is not yet up no matter what the ill wishers say it will be in vain. Get well Sata. Wishing you the quickest recovery. God is with you.

  23. HS, all people are dissapointed. Even top PF well wishers are, because this makes him just as sick as levy. Heart attacks have a tendency to recur just like levys strokes, full-stop.

  24. # 30 Ukutumpa, you have no tompwe, wechipumbu we. You should respect elders. Your CV will take you nowhere, neither will it enable you to enter heaven. Fool.

  25. Its good it has happened to Sata. He was loud-mouthed and criticised Levy for going out of the country for check ups. Now the same Levy has ordered for Sata’s evacuation. This is the end of chi Sata. He will die a miserable old man. Wooo no state House mudala. PF you are finished cos everything was in Sata’s hands.

  26. Do these chaps (politicians)understand the constitutionally Zambia is a christian nation ?all equal under God s eyes?Leaders should stop flying themselves Abroad for treatment at the expense of tax payers s money. They are no special at all.Let them learn from Sadam Husein and his family who never abandoned their people.True leaders will try to receive the same treatment as the ordinary people. lets build own hospitals and train our own doctors.why should we believe other conutries are better than us?

  27. Ka Ba Joze, Chapi & Kuku must be bitting each other’s bottom in shock waves haah.Could we hear them say “with us, its together with our Presido Sata in the grave”

  28. It seems to me that too many Zambians get involved in politics simply because they have nothing better to do than criticise. I’m not calling no names but you know yourselves.

  29. WITH HIS MENTAL STATUS NOW COMPLETELY DISORIENTED, THIS ANIMAL SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO COME CLOSER TO STATE HOUSE, MAYBE HE CAN NOW TRY CHAINAMA FOR …THAT CAN REALLY SUIT HIM. WHAT DO U THINK?

  30. It is pointless insulting those who support Sata. The fear that some people have for Sata is a direct result of the poor constitution that our country has. Our friends in India, Jamaica and other progressive third world countries do not have such fears about their leaders. This is because the Indian prime minister has limited powers. On the other hand, the Zambian president can do anything he wants, including locking up leaders of the opposition. He appoints and orders about the Inspector General of police, who has to do what the president says. Such powers are bound to be abused by the likes of Sata. We are fortunate at the moment that we have LPM. The next one might not be as principled!

  31. This is the reason zed has a problem with leadership you can tell from the way you guys are talking, every time its trashing somebody ,why not constructive talk, accept to differ in a proper way then move forward to find a good solution to the problems facing the country.

  32. Why whenever a Zambian leader gets sick we send them out of the country for treatment? Why can we not get good enough treatment at UTH for our leaders? Are Michael Sata, Levy Mwanawasa, or Frederick Chiluba better than 12 million Zambians that they deserve treatment abroad? Say what you want about KK, but at least he receives his treatment at UTH and does not drain taxpayers money to support him at fancy South African clinics. Think of all the health equipment to service the nation that could be purchased for the price of one of Chiluba or Mwanawasa’s trips. It is a shame that while people are dying of treatable diseases only a few miles from the National Assembly, Sata is being airlift

  33. #51 ‘We’ don’t send them to South Africa. They send themselves. We just vote them into power. They then become our masters and there is nothing we can do about it. After getting our vote, they can even come and arrest us and put us in prison if we criticize them. We have given them too much power! That is why LPM can refuse to sack his nephew but he can order the disciplining of others who so much as criticize him or his friend Mugabe. The new constitution needs to clip these people’s wings.

  34. If it is true that Sata plans to refund the monies that govt has spent or is spending on his specialised treatment in SA, then the man is too proud and surely the man is not presidential material and he could be wasting his supporters’ time.Unless Guy Scott was trying to do some politics over this matter! He is a national leader and i feel govt is duty bound to do that without asking for refunds from those that have been flown to SA for treatment. If Govt had kept quite the same people and his suppoters would have been making noise. Please why not appreciate than trying to say this and that for cheap politics.I am amazed!

  35. Country men and women where are your morals? Why are you happy and other sad when someone’s life is critically in danger? Be moderate in commenting,If you are’nt sata’s fun then just consider him as your brother or Zambian,African and wish him well than making sad and bad comments like that!
The man is a politician and yes you can critisize him or suport him but that doesn’t make him an animal!Don’t you think we need pipo like him on the opposition to challenge gvt and give them a had time so that they produce results to the zedian! so chill guys! I am not his fun but he’s human and he deserve to live just like anyone else!Make nice comments on this blog not insults,be objective and focus.

  36. Sata will refund govt – Dr Scott

PATRIOTIC Front (PF) vice-president Dr Guy Scott has revealed that PF president Michael Sata has indicated that he will refund the government all the money that will be spent on his specialist treatment in South Africa. …

  37. # 55
You shdn’t be suprised that Sata can utter a statement like, i would refund monies spent on specialised treatment in S.Africa. The man can utter anything today and deny it the following day. This is all candre mentality and lack of education. The thing is, where will he get that money, yet he is on record of having abused the widow money ( late Mtonga’s)? The man is bankrupty and should show remorse and appreciate what Levy has done for him.

  38. he will get some money from Taiwan. i thought he is again going to present a paper somewhere.
you see friends, scott and lubinda are now becoming moppers for sata. have you forgotten how they defended sata over the funeral money?

  39. dammm u zambians have very bad words very bad stupidi zambians.. damm yall funny 4 real

  40. Let him Refund the money. I will wait to see the refund Receipt posted online. He should not forget he has one more ticket to pay to come back, dead or alive

  41. Impombo, like 61 and others nashifula pa blog and all constructive debates we once used to see have gone to dogs, I mean to such dogs.

  42. Whether you hate him,HK & Agent Finland, the fact remains that you are heartless and crude in your behave and if you had a gun you can shoot him. pipo like you are a threat to society and peace. But God will help him and come back to politics.Without him the so called muiltiparty democracy wouldnt have flourished. No minister has ever done some of Sata’s achievement.

  43. #62 Anonymous You are one the big ugly dull dogs!!!If it’s surely gone to such dogs why are you blogging?

  44. #63, What achievements are you talking about?.. You must be a fool to believe Sata played a “constructive” role in Zambian democracy. The man only does what makes him popular without meaning it.
I credit him though for being a good example of what a Zambian Politician should not be. I would not even waste my ‘Chipolopolo’ on him. He has enough Cigars, Whiskey, Concubines, and viagra to to him justice. .. Let us see if he will mention the Cabbage again in similar terms… I will present him a Cabbage at LUN when he lands and see what he does with it..

  45. Ladies and gentlemen, such blogs are for intellectual discussions. If you have mungike mentality keep away. There is no need for insulting each other when the same politicians you are fighting about eat together, send each other for speciality treatment and will in future be in same political parties.

  46. Mr. Cobra, i wish you a quick recovery. Get well soon and if you read this, please, know that God loves you and he wants you to give Him your life. Come to Him the way you are and He will guide and protect you.

  47. # 69

Your prayer is incomplete. Pray that Sata repents, stops smoking, drinking, stick to one wife and then he will have good health.
    AMEN

  48. king cobra known for being a chain smoker a heart attack was just a matter of time. what more with your regular use of viagra!!! . risk of further hearts are related to stress. You fight Levy, counselors, MP over NCC and your self. This knocks out of the presidential race. You are now less than a cabbage. You have the best reason now to stop smoking!!!!!!!!!!!

  49. #61
He has announced that he is going to refund the money. Your hate for Sata has blown up in your face. Have a nice day while you wait as Sata shows you the receipt of the refund. 😀

  50. Ati he want’s to refund GRZ? So this is a first statement a presidential candidate makes after his life has been saved? will this man ever know how to say thank you?

  51. # 72.and your camp

Lesa nimalyotola. The way Sata hates the Chinese and everythin about China is the way others have responded on this blog. Why don’t you pity the Chinese when he speaks against them day in and out. God knows how to avenge.

  52. Sata is useles. he is as useless as…. Kaya(I don’t know). the devil’s mouthpiece in Zambia. What Zambia did for you is priceless…. galu

  53. Ba sata which church do you go to? how can you say you know that you wont die? are you god? pliz my dear god forgive this man who seem not to know what he is doing.

  54. I wish Mr. Sata a quick recovery. In order to sustain his health, Mr. Sata MUST stop smoking cigarettes or tobacco. There is enough body of evidence that smoking causes alot of illnesses, such as lung cance, heart ailments, etc. Those of you closest to him advice him to drop the smoking habit now otherwise he will become another statistic associated with smoking tobacco.

  55. When a heart attack strikes, it does not give you a chance to go to the bank and withdraw your millions. Satan should be grateful for our taxes and H.E. LPM for acting fast enough. No money can buy what Zambia did. next time it happens, we will wait to see how fast Scot will react.

  56. siya mahule, South african soccer legend, Ace ntsolengue, died while having sex with a prostitute in his car in 2006.

  57. #63 you must be very mad!!! which achievements? *****, remeber sata was in office with chiluba and supported the man we call a thief today untill almost the end of his office, i remember he was spearheading the 3rd term issue for chiluba coz he was benefiting from a corrupt govt because he is corrupt and shallow minded, He sld jst appreciate what LPM has done to him. We wish him a quick recovery coz we need him on the opposition bench to put some presure on the rulling party as they produce results, supporting sata on tribal ties is stupid.

  58. I hope Sata will respect LPM after his evacuation now!LPM is good parent and presido!PF thugs have to appreciate now!

  59. Hon Sata should be advised to take a good rest from active politics and possibly retire on account of the severe heart attack. The PF could do well to learn from other parties who left it too late to find a suitable replacemant to a convalencing leader. My personal view is that PF needs to face up the reality of being without Hon Sata in the 2011 elections and prop someone else from within their ranks. And there is need to be level headed about refunding government the money used in the evac.Right now the least one can do is wish Hon Sata a quick recovery not forgetting also to pay due gratitude to Govt.Otherwise why not pay upfront to the Air ambulance or refuse the offer altogether.

  60. The Zambian version of Savimbi is slowly but surely vanishing, thank god… we may now start exploring our oil reserves peacefully.

  61. juju#85 you are completely out of the way, you have missed a point, are you ok? to put you back on track we are writting abt sata is out of danger and not oil, jst wait the oil issue will come 4 you to vomit.

  62. # 80, Where are you driving us to? Are you suggesting that what happened to that footballer is what happened also to sata. Can you shade more light please, I cant see the connection between the headline and your story.

  63. Advise to PF , as a party they should recall what happened to UPND in 2006 just before thier so called conversion , their then President Anderson Masoza ! did not leave a succerssor nor was the party prepared for someone to take over. Please dont be foolish to think a heart attack is a joke! soon or later the PF President will find it difficult to be President of the party…now is the time to mobilise Given, Guy Scott and whoever is in PF to take up the challenge….i would be dissapointed if the go the UPND way …….replace a Bemba by a Bemba….oh am not wishing SATA bad but reality is reality…let him rest and give chance to others.

  64. Sata should stop being childish and learn to appreciate that he doesn’t need to refund govt any money that has been paid for treatment. Every Zambian is entitled to the best treatment. There is no need in politicising the govt’s prompt arrangement to have him evacuated to SA. Does he think we appreciated him him more as a peoples man who doesnt need public resources for his upkeep? I would have been happy to see him rise above politic and let everyone know that for once he can say thank you to the govt for taking care of me. That is being human and very much Zambian! We appreciate good deeds! So plz Mr. Sata, we need good example from you. Or at least that the Zambians in general!

  65. I wish Sata swift recovery. We love him so much bcos he is the only aggressive opposition leader we have and the ruling party fear him very much.HH is in China and then will proceed to meet Clinton and Obama. One thing he must understand is, China is developing fast bcos of it’s cultural background.Zambia will never be like China.Far from it. It would have been better if he went to Botwasana and learn how Batswana are serious with issues to do with national development i.e. roads, bulding etc.
But why travel that far when Botswana is just at our back yard.
May be nabo bele mukulombako ulupiya ku tu ma Chinese.

  66. I totally agree with you my brother.THe old man knows how to do politics. And this is what is needed in Zambia at now.He must continue staying in politics until akatekepofye atleast one term. Actually we Zambians need leaders like him because we are too passive.Look at our roads in the townships, pathetic!! e.g Livingstone-Zimba road and many more. Why!!And we have tolarated these standards. Most young people in Zambia who were born muma 80s think this is normal. Now!!

  67. I am angry that Sata was whisked off to SA for treatment when others who have been on the waiting list for a long time will die in the process, but my anger is also directed at the President who sent this guy to SA, why? I know very well had LPM not acted promptly today we we would be disccusing just how callous the President is, and all those PF cadres whould be crying for Levy’s blood. If Sata is going to refund the money for the trip and treatment, well and good, that money can be used to send someone one on the waiting list to SA.

  68. i am disappointed with the comments made about sata, levy, and the government.sickiness is sickness, help is help, governments duty is governments duty.let us say things that shall help us and not express our emotions by use of abusuve language.we need people like sata. imagine a world with only ‘bad politicians’. imagine a world with ‘only good politicians.’zambians, let us reason and do what need to be done for our nation to develop.

  69. #47,30,75 I dont know I can explain ur behaviours, plse stop contributing on this blog, coz u sound like animals who have no respect for leaders like Sata. Indeed your ARE DOGS.FOOLSH PEOPLE. MAGALU IMWE, BACHIMBWI.

  70. #93 Do not be silly. Appreaciate the fact that Sata’s political contributions has resulted into a lot of positive change in this country. At the moment he is the only credible opposition leader Zambia has. The special treatment accorded to him is well deserved consideration his current social standing. Do not just yappy yappy you dull chap. Think objectively

  71. #93 If all who have positively contributed to the develpment of our country would be given the same treament, Zambia would be bankrupt, admit it!!! Mr Sata is no pauper by any means and if he repays the money, then he will be setting yet another example, I am not as dull you want to make me, it is dull to just support your leader even when he has gone against his own convictions, so there!!!!!

  72. Whenever life is preserved we rejoice. But what about the less popular unnoticed Zambians, will we let them die because they are not known. Please improve the medical facilities at UTH and other big hospitals. We must not allow our own people to be buried alive in this time and age.

  73. SATA STOP USING VIAGRA ON SMALL GIRLS IN KABWATA,YOUR WIFE CAN COPE WITH ONE ROUND PER WEEK BUT YOUR GIRLFREIND WILL DEMAND FOR ONE ROUND PER DAY WHICH YOU CAN’T MANAGE…YOU ARE TOO OLD.

  74. sata is a stinking racist and tribalist. If he ever entered state hse, all other tribes and pipo who are not black would suffer and pay for his failures in the KK and FJT goverments.
Thank god he is incapacitated, but not knocking on heavens gates.

  75. Given Lubinda says no one should politicise Sata’s sickness and govt’s quick action to evacuate the PF leader to SA. But i thought it is same PF leadership that is now politicising the issue by intimating that they would refund the govt over the expenses incurred. Isn’t that not trying to play some very cheap politics indeed Given? Why do we have dishonesty Politicians in this country? It is high time we demanded real leaders and not flip floppers.Zambia is too precious to be left to such characters when it has a reserviour of quality leaders both men and women including the vibrant youths who can do better at national level than just politicking.Learn to say thank you.

  76. #90 hat off to you.

To those claiming that Hon MC Sata is the only opposition in the country right now, I have question for you. Is providing credible opposition opposing anything even that which is right or well meant?

Right now Hon Sata is seemingly opposing my President LPM’s help for him to receive his own much needed medical attention. Is that credible opposition?

Please, Zambians, let us learn to appreciate. There is no need for Hon Sata and most you us myopic supoorters of him to put more pressure on him to refund the GRZ with President LPM’s timely help. Hon Sata will only worsen his condition by thinking how he will have to refund the money. Gorw up and give thanks Mr Sata.

  77. #106 continued…

(Gorw) … Grow up and give thanks Mr Sata… where credit is clearly due.

I wish you a quick recovery so that you can show some sense of gratitude for once in your lifetime Mr PF President MC Sata to my President LPM’s well meant help to you and indirectly to your PF sympathisers.

In the meantime, please Mr PF president consider carefully whether you still need to put more pressure on your aging body system. We surely need your contribution to the Zambian political arena, but let your help come first. We can certainly cope with your Mr PF Presido Sata as an adviser to someone fit enough to lead the PF to greater heights.

All the best in your recovery Hon Sata.

  78. This attitude of flying politicians outside the country when they are sick is a sign of failure and mistrust in our medical staff,in short it means we have no doctors or drugs in zambia to manage them. whats so special abt 1 person forgeting the whole nation which cant even afford SIMPLE investigationS like endoscopies,ECG,x rays etc in their districts.

  79. Refunding government is the best way of thanking Zambians.Lets hope the government will channel this money to the betterment of health facilities in the Country.Lets hope other leaders learn from Sata.He has really set a every good example to you ones and others.

  80. Hi Zambia,

Mr. Sata is a man I have deep respect for, think he has had a good run but its really time to step aside and give the mantle to someone fresh and new!!! Nothing ill intended but men pass on but ideas will last forever. I am a strong supporter of most of Sata economic (and not political policies and traits) and I know they will be passed on to fruition in due course!

Sir, we love you but please give it a rest and please write us all a book about your life!!! It will be a best seller!!!

  81. tomlee, why are you asking about that chap who died while screwing bcos you know very well that it was actually your own grandpa involved.MHSRP.Ulekwata umuchinshi iwe. Care mwana, note that one of your uncles is screwing your wife.Ine nakwebe pantu ninkutemwa mune!!

  82. tomlee, why are you asking about that chap who died while screwing bcos you know very well that it was actually your own grandpa involved.MHSRP.Ulekwata umuchinshi iwe. Careful mwana, note that one of your uncles is screwing your wife.Ine nakwebe pantu ninkutemwa mune!!

  83. I Just want to comment on other people’s comments about the sickness of the son of the soil – Mr. Micheal Sata. if my memeory serves me right, it has becoming a tendency of most of the people to find a loop hole when a person is sick. people are looking for a way to vent their frustrations or disappointments and when that chance is found they just say or do whatever their anger command them to act. those who are sayinfg bad things or evening going to an extent of insulting mr. sata have only got a grudge against him. we know them because king cobra is a thorn in their flesh. sickness is sickness whether a person is a politician or not. let us not add more pain on Sata’s family and his party

  84. Mr. Sata should appoint someone from his family to head PF because nepotisim is allowed in Zambian politics.

Well done to LPM’s gov’t for sending sata to RSA. I just hope Mr. Sata comes back ok bcoz ‘most’ politicians that are sent to RSA don’t come back. Mr. Sata has done a lot for Zambia in his own way through out the 50s to this day, we should thank and learn from him just as we learn from other Zambians great or small.

    One Zambia One Nation

  85. This subject really has attracted interesting comments and i must admit, am so excited that finally, i have fixed ba Sata. I have long been hoping for this kind of thing to befall ba Sata.
My appeal to you all bloggers is to pray for me that am not too excited to fall victim too.

    Get well soon ba Sata.

  86. People must learn to have respect for their leaders in Zambia. Let our multiparty politiccs mature. Let us remain united and let us only differ in terms of policies, ideas or principles and not on personal matters. Men come and go but ideas and policies are here to stay. Leaders and their electorates should to bury their petty differences after elections and thereafter share ideas unselfishly.

  87. “Pride goes before a fall” now King Cobra is busy trying to final a “politically correct” explanation as to how he found himself a beneficially of Levy’s benevolence, hence the shallow gimmick of he wold repay the money spent on his evacuation and treatment. Ha haaaha! I am looking forward to that day when he calls a rally in Lusaka to present that payment check!!!! One would expect someone of that ripe age to be real.

  88. #117. Mwaiyasa mpikili amutwe nobaku-cooko (You have hammered the nails on its head Mr countryman).

THe mjor focus of our politics must focus on developing our great nation instead of always alluding to petty personal issues. With time we will prove to the whole nation and the world in general that cold tribalists have the ones who accuse others of the evils they personally do.

Even the devil is recorded as an accuser of brethren in the Holy Scriptures (Revelation 12:10 + HOLY BIBLE …for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.)

  89. #112&#113, why do you have to be so sacarstic on tomlee #108? He was just interested in the details, just as any blogger, and nothing offensive. Lets not be abusive to innocent souls. In fact, you sound to have taken this matter very personal. Was it you that was in the car being screwed, just as your name suggests? Your comments sounds a confession.

  90. I like the way King Cobra does his politics and this healthy for our beloved country.HH is in China lobbying for funds from china. China has the worsty human rights abuse in the world.

  91. LT Admin. please help us with certain usernames and language being portrayed on here – they really look offensive to most of us and can be disheartening to sober minds.

  92. Get well soon ba kateka ba Sata. The entire nation is praying for your quick recovery.God is love.
God bless Zambia and it’s people!!

  93. Mr Sata you should be careful, we have a presdo of death at plot 1 whose relatives die every year like flies. He can now turn to his political opponents.

  94. SPECIAL TRIBUTE to PROF. MUBANGA KASHOKI
I wish to invite intellectuals to join me in applauding the stand Prof Kashoki took in respect to the BRAIN TUMOUR he developed.
The government offered to evacuate him to South Africa for the brain surgery but refused. He instead insisted on showing how much confidence he had in his former students expertise that if given the equipment would perform beyond expectations. The government ended up buying MR-OR,Endoscope,stereotactic guidance equipment and the brain tumour operation was carried out successfully at UTH.Due to his foresight we now don`t evacuate anyone to have brain tumour operations.
It`s time we developed our own CARDIC center …cont

  95. Bakoswe na ba kolwe nabafula pa blog headed by HK. Let the learned colleagues and those who want to contribute positively like #131 do so and not these other people abashafundwa who continue to show their ignorance.

  96. Cont fro #131
I think it would be wise to develop our own cardiac center which could benefit the whole nation. How much resources do we have to waste to realise that we can develop our own health facilities that we can be proud of.
Instead of always reacting after the fact, why can`t we pre-act for once.

  97. No.124 you think you have a more sober mind than the rests? We know that right now you are slaughtering someone’s wife every weekend in Lilanda.

  98. The idea of refunding the govt had me thinking, the govt should make available a special fund for all Zedians who can afford to pay back after treatment. That way all Zedians can benifit, instead of only political leaders.

  99. #135. I only wish you knew how far away I am from Lilanda or may I write from Zambia. Since I don’t fall in the category of your level, I will gladly inform you that I respect your OPINION While I ask the good Lord to forgive you for you know not what you are doing.

#136. I also got to think about the fund-raising issue serious. Why can’t our hospitals or the MOH introduce an equiptment-buying-fund-raising fee to each individual who goes to our hospitals which could then be used to buy specialist equipment for our struggling hospitals. This could reduce expectations from and full dependencies on the government.

    Just my thoughts!

  100. LT cant you find a better picture for this old man. i thought he looked better than this. if this is how he has become, ma, he must be careful the way he opens his mouth. i can imagine the type of air which comes from such a mouth.

  101. #136 and 137, another way of meeting medical costs is for a proper health insurance policy.People with health insurance can afford to pay economic prices for the services. This would make the hospitals charge economic prices for their services and provide for recapitalizations.I only know of one insurance firm offering medical insurance in Zed, and they’re doing it as agents for a UK insurance firm.Just like we pay third party insurance on cars, health insurance should be made manditory. It doesn’t have to be exorbitant.Imagine the 7 million adults in the country paying say ZMK 100,000.00 a year, this would be very nice for the hospitals.

  102. #133, Indeed, why can’t we pre-act for once. Poor planning is runnin our country to the ground. A bit of central planning may not be so bad for our country after all. Atleast, it can be a conduit for pre-ating.

  103. True #142. I actually have Medical Insurance with an insurance compay from here – where I am at.

Let the private sector and/ir ZSIC – if it still exists – take up this challenge and offer these pwoerful facilities to our fellow country men and women including children.

  104. Hats off Mr PF President MC Sata for thanking our incumbent Zambian President Levy Patrick Mwanawasa for helping you. This clearly shows beyond reasonable doubt that you can act as expected sometimes.

Continue recuperating well so that you can get back to your work and we can all hear you giving thanks publicly to Zambian President LPM for his timely help to you and to other GRZ individuals who are evacuted to elsewhere when they are in need like you were on saturday afternoon.

Be blessed and condolences as you mourn your son’s loss through death.

  105. this sickness has really changed sata’s hard rocky heart. his humility and good words has shocked me. i just hope he has changed for good.

  106. All,

Please forgive me for the years of my idiocy here.I have foolishly & unconsciously insulted Levy & MMD because of of a US $ 2500 scott has been paying me to build anti MMD environment. Good leadership is governed by the rule of law what has happened in Zambia where my Presido Sata was evacuated to South Africa on government bills .That is good leadership and governace where decision making is based on principle not hatred. There is true leadership in MMD.Guy Scott with all his failure in Lusaka Central has just been exploiting our ignorance. Asking for MMD forgiveness for the years of insults on you.

  107. #34, bamudala ba zulu….sorry my comment ended with a conclusion.le me make it clear.the people of zambia who are accession such medical facilities abroad are few if not only the politicians and the presidents family.the govern.keeps on saying that such facilities are open to every zambia but practically it not not true.we people on media seeking help from the community to take their sick relatives abroad for treatment.if that was open to evry zambian we would have not seen people pleading for help on media….cont.

  108. i am told that some hospitals in foreign contries are running with zambian doctors so it is not that we dont have doctors but the govrn. has failed to run the country.if they serviced our hospitals those docs wouldnt have gone there.most zambian with complicated illnesses just without bein helped by the govrn to send them abroad so kwati apapena batumine ba sata ku SA pakuti ba mwanawas bakapangilepo ishina.the whole idea was good but we want to see even the poorest zambian accessesing medications from SA or abroad.in fact sata can manage to pay for his bill if we allow him to do that but there are people who cant even pay anything but they need medications.we need justice and equity

  110. Mwebo, did anyone really believe Sata would refund the money for his evacuation and treatment in SA? Guy Scott being Muzungu would have refunded the money if pressurized, but not a Zambian Ha !! This is now yet another piece of the national cake that he has been served! he will not re-pay even if he has the capability to do so, he thinks the country owes it him but then, so do many others, judging from what I read on this blog.
