ZESCO has repaired its two generators which had tripped off at Kafue Gorge Power Station.
ZESCO Public Relations Manager Monica Chisela has confirmed that the two machines are now back in operation.
Briefing the press in Lusaka today, Mrs. Chisela said one of the generators was restored yesterday while the other was restored this morning.
She however said it has not yet been established what caused the two generators to trip adding that the matter is being looked into.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Chisela has disclosed that the Democratic Republic of Congo power inter-connector line is still disconnected.
She said this has made it difficult for ZESCO to secure supplementary power from that country to meet the demand.
Mrs. Chisela said currently ZESCO is relying on its own power generation which has proven to be inadequate.
She has since urged customers to use electricity with caution and avoid needless and wasteful use of power.

I am fed up ZESCO lies with their heft salaries. It is not easy to find a job with ZESCO because of nepotism. What good do you expect from such an institution? They have put their stomaches first.
its is sad even to talk about zesco here.mmmm you may wonder how the state owned institution running without a plan.we have read so much about zesco issues and we seem not to be getting a sollution from them.every now and then we are hearing some breaking down from the utility firm.ohhhohhhh shame the on zesco.the nations industrial activities been grown in the last few yrs but this utility company has never thought of expanding its activities…they are just inovetive to get more money from the poor zambians and make them stay in the dark.ohh ohhh poor zesco

They should privatise ZESCO. Look at ZANACO and compare its service delivery before and after it was privatised. Their are no more queues when collecting money. Maybe when ZESCO goes, even the loadshedding will also go coz people will be getting the service they pay for.
there is nothing good about that whether the generators are restored or not.we cant see any change in our communities.we dont have power so why anouncing something which is not making change?toomorow we will hear another different story from zesco

i even wonder why we should talk about ZESCO. It is just a total heap of non sense. I pray that a competitor comes on the scene and maybe they will wake up from their slumber. WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!

talking about Zesco its useless to me coz we don’t even have power and moreover its even worse. next time we will hear all the generators are completely down. Zesco management have really failed to do their work am sick and tired of all their tricks.
