  1. Guys,Zambia is heading in the right direction.

    MUFULIRA CHANGES FACE

  2. We don’t need all these shopping malls. What Zed needs are production and manufacturing industries.

  3. # u are rite on the dot. we have markets and they are plenty. we need production, manufacturing and assembly lines so we can sell finished products. why shud we be buying apples and oranges grown on foreign land?

  4. I agree with #3 industries can create plenty of jobs. With shopping malls we will just be window shopping foreign goods. If we had industries and assembly lines we could also be selling our finished products instead of relying onother countries.

  5. This foreigners are now coming with strategies of going away with HUGE monies at the end of the year, after using our poor zambians. We need our own manufacturing companies where zambians can work without being insulted in the wages and also physicals insults.

  7. All the critics here are losers. For God’s sake lets give creadit where its due. manufacturing and production industries have never been ‘thick’ on the ground in Zambia historicly. I agree this sector creats alot more jobs however that does not mean one has to over-look other sectors in the economy. construction and infrastructure sector is also something that attracts investors. so whether its roads, hospitals or shopping malls its all part of a wider picture in getting infrastructure up to scratch.

  8. The problem with these shopping malls is they sell 90% SA produce.
All the friuts, most of the Veg and almost 90% of the canned foods are from South Africa. zambia can not win. Those goods comming from SA pay little or no duty because of SADC or what ever it is called. Only Raw materials leave Zambia and are just passing thru SA anyway, duty would not have bein paid. So those goods from SA enjoy free duty, a ready market and the expence of Zambian produce.
Shopping malls , Shopping malls…, We are being pickpockedted.

  9. I think its one step in the right direction. The facility will be able create some jobs.

Maybe if some manufacturing industries are set up or revive the old one, they could be able to sell some of those products.

Its high time the C/B had some structures like the planned one. Most attention has been shifted to Lsk and L/Stone. That may in future create other forms of investment. Good Start!!!

  10. Whilst I appreciate comments from 10,11 and 12. This particular investment would be a purely business transaction. The Government still controls a big portion of the health and Education sector and so its up to Government to come up with plan that would attract such forms of investment.

  11. shap #15, which mad council would allocate land for a University with all that thugery motorists suffer from UNZA students. A mall is better.

  12. Sanchez, should I take that as a good feedback??. I am having trouble understanding your view about the allocation of land and investment. Please help.

I am not a shap too. I am a professional. I would appreciate if you use my blog name or the number.

    Thank you
