MMD not in crisis – Mabenga

Share

Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) National Chairman, Michael Mabenga has reiterated that there is no leadership crisis in the party.

Mr. Mabenga said all the party organs have continued to work together and are praying for the quick recovery of President Mwanawasa.

The MMD National Chairman was speaking at the party secretariate during at a press briefing in Lusaka on Tuesday.

He said people spreading rumors that there is crisis in the MMD should scrap the notion as the party’s operations are normal.

“I want to agree with what the Vice President said in Livingstone yesterday. There is no crisis in MMD. If anything the party has become even stronger as we have united in praying for the quick recovery of our President,” Mr. Mabenga said.

And Mr Mabenga says NEC will soon hold meeting to discuss and resolve amicably the disputes between the National Secretary, Mr Katele Kalumba and Chairman for information and Publicity, Ben Tetamashima in order to avoid bickering in the party..

And Chief government spokesperson, Mike Mulongoti has dismissed rumours that before his departure for Egypt, President Levy Mwanawasa left the instruments of power with defence minister George Mpombo.

Mr. Mulongoti, who is also Information Minister, says Vice President Rupiah Banda is fully in charge of all government functions.

He says Mr. Banda is receiving support from all line ministries in implementing various government programmes.

Mr. Mulongoti was speaking during a live National watch programme on ZNBC TV Monday night.

He assured the nation that cabinet will continue implementing various government programmes despite the Zambian leader’s absence.

  1. Mabenga is not different from Tambo MBEKI, How can he say there’s no crisis in MMD? WHY holdig a meeting if there’s no crisis? You can tell from the story that crisis is there.

  2. who is Mabenga cheating thta MMD is not in crisis? the sooner they realise thta there is a crisis in MMD to do with leadership succession, the better for them. HH has already set the laed. He was on Radion Phonix “Let the Peiploe Talk” Programme today and has set the nation on fire, am sure any doubting Thomases have cleared there doubts about this man the Obama of Zambia.

  3. Wow!! So this instruments of power business is true, te? I thought people on this blog were just politicking and there was no such thing. I guess we have smart and informed people on this blog. I hope they are no shushus or former shushus.

  4. Who is Mabenga cheating that MMD is not in a crisis? the sooner MMD realises thta there is a leadership crisis in the Party as regards who the successor to Levy is, the better for them. otherwise HH has already set the nation on fire.He was on Radion Phonix “Let the People Talk” Programme today and i couldnt agree with him any more, he is the next President of Zambia.

  5. #3, believe me when i tell you. Some of us work directly in those Offices concerned with “info”. Stay tuned……

  6. The “instruments of power” issue must be cleared urgently because both Mr. Mpombo and Banda are visibly power hungry men. Please LPM say something before you die.

  7. #2 and 5-UNZA NIJA, please tell us more. What did HH say? I know that the man is really capable of winning the next elections given the fact that he was only around to campaign for the 2006 election and yet performed better nationally than some poor finishers who had been there from word go. HH performed better than Sata in Isoka, most of Eastern province, some parts of Central province and most rural parts of Lusaka province. He also performed better than Sata in North Western and Western Provinces. There were only two provinces were Sata had a presence without HH showing a good one and these are the Copperbelt and Luapula. No wonder the final tally of the results shows HH on top of Sata.

  8. MMD shall indeed be missed by its blind followers and members like Mabenge … wait until the final whistle is blown!

  9. The gov’t exit strategy is to “continue implementing various government programmes despite the Zambian leader’s absence.” until 2011

  10. Yes UNZA-NIJA those of us who are not priveledge to listen to that program fill us in. The young man makes too much sense. Go HH gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

  11. #2 You cannot compare Obama and HH.These are two different personalities.Obama has overcome many obstacles to be where he is but comparing the two is a little bit too forward.HH might be excellent locally but not so on the international platform.

  12. Abena Copperbelt(12),

Those are blogs of UNIP Vigilantee remants. What can they tell us beyond what ZNBC and all other established legitimate news houses have already released? The Communique has been released after a long seniors’and founding fathers had their heads up this afternoon. The post newspapers is running every point this evenning. Those UNIP cadres are in the tradition of twisting things as if UNIP will ever ressurect.LT is doing a perfect job.

  13. Obama does not promote an agenda that favours one section (neither the blacks or whites or hispanics but the entire US population).

  14. Can some one fill us with how HH made his millions? That may help us understand him more than listening to what he said on Radio Phoenix. Is this guy not a salesman? I just heard he sold a freezer to an Eskimo. Let us know about this guy please before we heap praise on a worse to have walked the Zambian streets. Is he not in the line of succession of those to be prosecuted for corruption after selling the mines and other companies cheaply but getting tonnes of millions to go into his pockets?

  15. No crisis in MMD,that sounds too good to be true. What you do now will determine the future of your party. We can only issue timely warning but cannot determine the outcome of MMD meeting.Zambia is not MMD,its beyond it,if they decide to do childs play with issues at hand then tough luck. Why we talk about MMD is because they are a ruling party, otherwise we would not waste our breath on them.If your Leader is ailing then all is definitely not well anxiety is automatic.Even in a Home when the Father of the Home is poorly and in a coma,no matter how hard you try to put up a brave face it cannot hold.Teta and Katele are not an issue right now,Levys illness is an issue.please ba Mabengaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  16. Hakainde Hachilema, is the man, Not a bootlicker like Micheal chilufya Sata. Sata is a Opportunist to the very core. Remember, he was the last one to ditch UNIP, he defended Kaunda like a merciless Lion, and when Chiluba was busy ochestrating his Third term bid, micheal sata was at the helm, again he was the last man standing for Chiluba before dicthing him. For these reassons I think HH is a credible leader. Go HH even if Una etaya pali Sakwiba Sikota.

  17. #25 both are opportunists in my opinion.By the way all of us have done that unless one is not from planet earth. As for the millions he made when they sold the mines anybody else would have probably done the same!Russian politicians have done that too.We live in a world of opportunities and if I was faced with one now I wouldn’t resist it.It is baseless to continually judge someone by how they sold the mines and so on.Look at what he has to offer. If he has it then let him get the vote.

  18. Can those of you who are so sure that HH is a thief provide the evidence and report him to the police than just making baseless claims on this blog. It is being shallow minded to keep saying he is a thief and yet not provide hard facts. People who are against Sata are saying why they think he is not a good leader. If you have no facts its better to keep quiet, anyhow what is happening here rymes well with the saying that ‘an empty tin makes the loudest noise.’ Cause assertions of HH’s theft are coming from pipo who are empty in terms of evidence.

  19. Learn this important lesson from me.Let all these politicians sell themselves and allow the people to decide who they want themselves.
I for one have a BIG PROBLEMS with people on this blog campaigning by using character assassination against other peoples choices.Remember Hilary Clinton and her ending? You cannot sow hatred and expect people to give you favour.

  20. Hilary Clinton would have won the presidential elections in my opinion but she turned nasty and people don’t buy nasty goods.America was going to have the first woman pres…
Some of you need take a leaf from the US presidential race and swap your aggression and blind loyalties for something better.

  21. Politicians are never straight people. The problem comes when one is held in the highest esteem at the expence of the rest.
N.B If you are not important all by yourself without bringing other people down then you are not really important.

  22. its not Character assassination but facts. Sata ascendency to politics is well known.Bloggers like me are simply pointing out his inconsistencies. Remember voters have a short memory. Sata history is well documented and people have a right to know the type of leaders they wish to elect. The fact is that its had to point out any issues with HH. Katele and Mabenga, remember the 2 billion Kwacha, who defended them, Sata,Have you ever heard him condemn Corruption? Remember the term Ubomba mwi bala alya Mwi bala!!!!

  23. HH won’t be a president!!he came into politics through tribalism.we all know that.unless u’re telling stupid people who are still sleeping. After mazoka’s death all tongas wanted a tonga 2 succed him including ngande mwananjiti, and that’s what happened.sice tht moment, UPND destroyed mazoka’s vision of the party.HH was not known in politics and has never been in politics before. He came from sleeping and became UPND president. Now how can you expect a person who knows nothin’ about politics to become a president?I’ve never seen tht before in a democratic party, only in africa.upnd chose a leader who had no post in the party.where on earth?that’s why sikota, chisang, lubinda and others resigned.

  24. don’t forget always that begining is important in politics.Look at obama and clinton!they wouldn’t have stood 4 USA presidential election if they were not dem- senators.if u want to be a president, join a party and become popular within the pary ,then a president of a country.

  25. #33, I still maintain the invitation extended to you in the other thread for a COMPUTER SYSTEMS company in Zambia. Have a great day though.

  26. I cant tell whether the hand in the picture is waving goodby or…… well, maybe i should just read waht it says on top. Ah Aha “the hour has come”. How prophetic.

  27. Amano Mambulwa,
If you think the whole lot of MMD political and operational fraternity has no clue in navigating through the
terrains or lack internal machinery to analyse, forecast and launch out for victory, you must be dreaming. The victory our most Presidents is by the input on politicians’overhead rhetoric but party strategists ever ahead of games. You will never see or hear them struggling for a platform.MMD is solid and will reign beyond this setback.I give you my index finger for your celebrtion should defeat manifest.

  28. Those who support HH know it for sure that they support him on tribal basis. The guy is a novice in politics and will always remain like that. We want his history. Lay it down. Why hide facts about him. Let us judge him as we have judged other politicians. He will never ascend to Republican President. Why do you think Mazoka failed to be President? Unless you Tongas climb trees from the top, then we expect this novice to rich the top. But since he is always at the top. He has nowhere to go but down. You will cry and cry, but he will never get to be President. Eventually we shall get someone to replace Levy and become President, and HH will remain a Tonga party president. That’s all.

  29. “Now how can you expect a person who knows nothin’ about politics to become a president?”

What does the word POLITICS mean?

#34, What about Texas billionaire Ross Perot, see “ht tp : / / ww w. answers. c om/ topic / ross-perot”? Was he a US(A) senator at one point in his life?

  30. Thanks for your well elaborated tribalistic opinion #38. Why are you not providing us with your username on LT?

Is it because they say “coward hyena lives longer”. I must clarify that I do not mean you are ‘hyena’ please #38 in case you have never come across this saying.

“Let us wait and see” – Dennis Liwewe, come Presidential election day.

I don’t do predictions, but I assure us (Zambians) that many of us will be in a rude shock some day.

  31. Hichilema,Sata and Nevers Mumba will never serve zambia has President. It better start trickling down their flattered heads that its a “Covenant” among active citizens to that fact. Unless 18K of us are wiped naturalcalamity.Reasons are outstanding for generations.

  32. #40 hehehehehehe, do you really want my name? Do you call yours a name? All the names here are as good as anonymous. Do you any difference in yours and mine? I don’t. Now, about HH. Can you help us with his history and where he got his millions. That could be a better discussion than our pseudos or anonymous identities.

  33. #42, I need your name so that I can know who exactly I am addressing. You know too well that bloggers on here have been wrongly attributing changes in mindset by some character ‘Anonymous’ who makes perpendicular postings on one topic. Thus, I need to know who wrote what so that I can follow that person’s arguments.
On HH’s history, I do not know it – save his CV and biography I have seen something. Please, take note that I am not HH’s campaign manager neither am I in his campaign team.I am merely appalled by sentiments by persons like you which lack evidence but are built on tribalism.A fair question is: Has GRZ failed us by it’s failure to accuse and prosecute HH over his well-made money?

  34. #33 russia_moscow, you are around. Please attend to my problem before you start making noise here. You were boasting about knowing java and I gave you a practical question but you have decided to keep quite. Please prove your claims before we beging filling in the blanks!!! Your hatred for HH will not take you anywhere. We don’t like talking about what we do because we think it is immaterial and boasting but you told us, so please help us.

  35. Please, #40 ask GRZ to expose HH’s billions making instead of showing failure to comprehend simple truths about HH?

I have written somewhere on here that to the best of my knowledge I have never voted for the UPND or any of its former and current leaders in my whole life, even if I am a pure and true Tonga born from a Tonga mother from Monze and father (deceased) from Choma – Mapanza. I hope this information about myself is enough to show you that I need proof from you about any supposed ill-dealings that HH is alleged to have committed in making his money. For the sake of interest, could you please truthfully provide information regarding your tribe #42?

  36. How do you know it is well made money if not a speculation on your side? The question you should ask is how much did he make in the selling of the mines? How much of that was under the table? Probably that will help us understand how dirty this guy is. How do we start accusing others of theft and leave out HH? This guy was the negotiator and salesman. And all of a sudden he has millions. Doesn’t that raise some suspicion in those that glorify HH? Or are they paying a blind eye because he is a tribal neighbor?

  37. Mwe bantu saying HH is the man, please educate yourselves. One does not become President or win elections by being popular with the middle and upper class in Zambia. Most of you on this blog, like me, are probably abroad or in a low density area. We don’t really count. Sata is the most popular leader together with his PF, not only did they do well in last general elections but they have consistently hammered MMD in bye elections. What has HH accomplished? Your opinions on LT don’t matter, Sata and crew will obligerate UPND come elections, only the party in power MMD can find a way of beating them. That’s the reason Prof. Chirwa cannot form his own party but wants to be adopted by MMD or PF!

  38. #46, the question is not about those supporting HH? GRZ has enough if not all information HH’s billions, so why don’t you or GRZ accuse him (HH) of conducting himself (HH) in an unbecoming manner over the sell of those mines?

#46, this is the information we need not petty tribalism. GRZ has put Mr FTJ Chiluba (Hon. doctorate – Malawi, I think), Katele and others but not HH on corrupt charges. So ask GRZ to bring HH to book for his (HH) money if you have issues with that instead of showing ignorance about the law of the land (ZAMBIA) and failure to accept truth in front of your eyes. Please, anonymous – I still need your username so I can address you properly.

  39. “Doesn’t that raise some suspicion in those that glorify HH? Or are they paying a blind eye because he is a tribal neighbor?” – #46 – Anonymous.

What suscipicion #46 – Anonymous? We need evidence to present in the courts of law and not mere speculation bent on nothing but tribalism.

  40. #47, there are some nice facts regarding the last presidential elections on: ht tp : / / ww w. lusakatimes .c om / ? p = 3 2 4 1 from comments #444 – #457 posted by a well-researched man/woman in the name of ‘Abena copperbelt’. The election results clearly stipulate that HH is more popular country wide than Hon Sata. Hence your assertions about the PF are unfounded. Please, provide data to the contrary instead of misleading us who have read on these things.
May I take this opportunity to inform you that fo sure I am far from home like you have rightly obsereved although I was last there in January this year and will be there, by God’s grace, shortly from today.

  41. I thought Zambia was declared a Christian Nation. Honestly people, this is not time to talk about the next president leave everything to God lets just commit our president in our Daily prayers and the first lady they need our prayers in this difficult time. I Know some of you may say Lesa afwa abayafwa, but let us seek him first than All those things shall be added unto us.

  42. ….obsereved although….must be… observed although….

Also, remove the spaces in the web link if and when you want to use it.

Have some nice and decent blogging.

  43. #54 where is the guy who declared Zambia a christian nation right now? In court! Zambia is not a secular state, I am free to practise and express any religion I want, check the constitution. Those were mere convenient pronoucements by a crook and his cronies and are not enshrined in law! The rule of the land is the constitution not the bible, break the law and you will be tried in court by judges using the law of the land kept at Manda Hill, not in church using the scripture!

  44. If you look for a fault in anyone you will find it.This is the time for all presidential candidates to show us what they are made of.I hope it is not just a one man’s show several people to choose from.

  45. Anonymous with your tribal sentiments, am gladyou do not make the final say on who becomes president. Zambia still has apresident in the name of Levy Patrick Mwanawasa. My hopes and prayers are that he gets better and retires honorably on medical grounds when he comes back. All zambians need to give him a salute and a heroes welcome when he gets back. thats what I pray for. With that I lookm forward to who will Zambia post Levy. As for HH, he worked for an acounting firm called Grant Thornton as a manaing partner together with another HH at grant thorton this time by the Name of Hamuwele.

  46. The gorvement (chiluba) contrated GT to facilitate the sale of ZCCM assests. This meanrt the legal part, assessing the value of some the assests and so forth. HH had already made most of his money by then. He invested wisely in his farms, a security company to mention just a few. Its simply wise investments and not the Chiluba type of corruption that gave him what he has. HH came from the village and made it. Thats the little of what I know for you grade seven failure called anonymous. Go to school my friend.

  47. To tell he truth am tired of levy and his friends. I would love to see this as a way of changing GRZ. its too much of the same old people. stealing elections and staying in power. Thats how it is you steal an election you get sick on the job. Now am seeing a situation where we will have a dead president ruling til his term of office ends. Look at how they are avoiding artical 36. Its three weeks and some days the country is not sure wats condition LPM is in. Some of these guys just have to go. am praying. Some people are praying for LPM to recover am praying for a change of GRZ.

  48. Its an inexcusable insult to compare a stinking tribalistic bigot like HH to a gallant son of the soil Obama who has overcome worse bigotry to be where he is. Obama did not ascend to the Democratic Party top post by virtue of Jesse Jackson rounding up all of America´s `Tonga` tribes to vote for him, no! He did so by inspiring in people, black or white, a hope for change they can all believe in. If Tongas here think other people have a short memory like theirs to forget so easily, they will be shocked. There is no any self respecting Zambian who can vote for such a tribalistic skunk, I would even vote for that thieving wizard Kalumba and die than vote for HH [Hakasuntwe Hakazwee)

  49. Imwe, anyone can be pres in zambia.certainly not HH! Twakana iyo! Tonga tribal label(no offense meant to so- called Tonga bulls) sticks 2 him. What is the history of Tongas?i leave it 2 u.now MMD wil field maureen.symphathy vote must work.i prefer chirwa.meanwhile sata is a threat.of course not rulin myself out.by the way bloggers cant we also rule?we all sound sensible at our keyboards.ar we just ruling in cyberspace?we can change zambia going by our keystrokes.am i makin sense? Go 4 it guys!

  50. The only non tribal tonga politician is VJ. It’s a pity he wasted his career and his health is telling. However i still think he can rule for 1 term to teach tongas how to be a national leader or join national party. So baneni give us a national leader and will vote for your tribe mate. By the way ndine mu tumbuka, I don’t damn who tribe man/woman is my President as long as he’s good. My choices by no order of merit:
VJ: 1 term, may pardon pruderers??

  51. Cont’d G. Miyanda: good but ego centric, therefore need less presidential powers
Caleb Fudanga:good, immature politically need political adviser as VJ
    N. Magande: same as Caleb
    F. Mutati: good and mature
Bob sichinga: good and mature but without party
Hopefully of the above will my/our President

  52. Those who dent HH has a triblist are themselves triblist, come it time to move on,HH adresses in bemba, lozi, tonga nyanja etc, tell me how many other leaders tdo that, sata only adresses in bemba throughtout zambia, do they call him a triblist no,So next time you want to dent HH has a tribalist, check yourself first, cos you are the waste tribalist, they is nothing esle you can contribute other than calling pipo names, contribute constractive critisism,

  53. #56 Dante, so many tantrums will not take you any where, i better stay in a country decalared a christian one than an islamic or secular state becoz there are more benefits, e.g. plenty of peace that is no where near islamic or secular states. by the way, the term zambia is declared a christian nation is part of the same law you are talking about kept at manda hill.

  54. While, for once I thought am a Kenyan, I thought HH was a Lou and Sata a Kikuyu. I said so because i think sentiments from sadistic people like Mushala, Gershom and big Sando possibly same person. Zambia is a country of 12 million, anyone can rule. the Tribal card has been used for a very long time. It simply means that anyone other than from Northern or Eastern province cannot lead a party without being labelled tribalistic. Mazoka was labbelled one, only accepted after his death. Sata led a party, Ben Mwila led a party, Dan Pule, the list is endless, no one labbeled them tribal despite the fact that the majority of their members hell from the same provinces CB, NP and LP.

  55. but you know what blogers.HH is not a trabalist himself.God forbid his caders are trabalists,Last time i supported him to the last moment when his supporters started shouting a slogan which said “vote your lacal team”on that ground he lost my vote.He has much to do to change the attitude of his cadres than he has to campaign.

  56. WHATS THIS THAT MABENGA IS TRYING TO POTRAY,THAT THERE IS NO LEADERSHIP CRISIS IN MMD?WHOEVER TOLD THEM THAT WE ARE CHILDREN NOT ABLE TO READ THE WRITING ON THE WALL?MM IS CRACKING AND CONTINUES TO DO SO.THE ONLY PERSON SEEMINGLY IN CONTROL IS MAUREEN,AND SHE IS CALLING THE SHOTS.SHE MORE FEARED THAN LPM.SO AS LONG AS SHE SEES IT NECESSARY,SHE WILL BLOCK ANY ATTEMPT TO SUCCEED LEVY IN MMD,AND LET ALONE THE CALL FOR A BOARD OF DOCTORS. MARK MY WORD HOW CAN A COUNTRY BE KEPT IN SUCH DARKNESS OVER THE PRESIDENT’S CONDITION?

  57. Very funny! let MMD foul themselves to an early exit out of govt. They can wait but should not delay us as a nation.Inasmuch as LPM’s sickness is a sad thing and we pray for his recovery,we cannot just sit back and do nothing.HH has started campaigning but refuses to start the wheels of the changing process-trying to buy some votes like he makes more sense than sata.we can see this!

  58. #70 Didi I totally agree with you. The only time a leader is not labled tribalist is wen he is a bemba. Such superior complexes are what led to kikuyus in kenya and hutus in rwanda get beheaded by their countrymen who were fed up with being looked down upon. Why do some pipo think that only a bemba is fit to rule this country? Bane dont take the peace we have for granted; it can easily go up in flames. For those who dont know, Somalia was the first country in africa to adopt multipartism and it was hailed as a haven of peace the world over. Look where it is now; a failed state because of people with tribalistic tendacies like the ones being exhibited on this forum.

  59. I agree with #74. Yes HH himself is not a tribalist or claims not to be. But the majority of Tongas are tribal and personally i have never met a tonga who doesnt support HH. Much as he is brilliant himself, the attitude of the majority of tribal mates will cost him a ticket to State House.

  60. I personally think bembas are the most tribalistic people in zambia and if we dont watch them carefully they will bring anarchy to this country. Tell me how many bembas speak other languages in zambia? A bemba can live in monze for 20 years and not bother to learn tonga, but let a tonga speak tonga in kasama and he will be called a tribalist. Speak lozi in your own home and you will be called a tribalist but a bemba will come and speak bemba in YOUR home and that is perfectly ok. HH is called a tribalist becoz most of his support is from southern; yet sata gets ALLL his support from bemba lands and nobody has ever looked at that as being tribalistic. Dont take other tribes for granted

  61. I agree with #74 . I have never seen a tonga who does not support HH. When you are in southern province it is HH badala .Generaly tongas are tribalist. This may cost HH A ticket to miss plot 1

  62. HH tries to come out clean in public and i like the way he has avoid Sata’s Childish sarcasm over time in politics. But HH is not an angel in himself.these are the same people, you people, who have been receivers on most privatised govt asset. can’t that explain how they have grown so rich.these are the same people who advised govt into this failure.them too, there many aim was to finish privatisation and have a share in everything rather than proper long time privatisation

  63. watch the space HH is is burning like bush fire in califonia the man has won the confidence of people.yesterday all the people in the city of lusaka were all listening to radio phoqnix.i couldnt believe it more especialy the cloud which waited to see him after the program it was amazing.security had taff time lusaka police chief had to go there himself to check on the situation which was mistaken to be a meeting

  64. For those that are saying HH will not be President, who are you to decide or judge??If he has good leadership qualities, we (ZEDs) will vote for him. The fact that he is Tonga doesn’t mean he is not Zambian. Forget about Sata he is too old to be President, we need a health and goods leader be it HH or whoever..

  65. Can someone enlightened fill me in, have we ever had a Bemba for President in Zambia? For all i know Kaunda’s father was a missionary from Malawi and Chiluba hails from Luapula where there are no Bembas per se.

  66. HH’s slogan some two years ago was “vote for your local team” but now he is pretending to be an ‘OBAMA’ like kind of politician..dont ven argue i listned to his interview on radio phoenix yesterday! how nice..lol

  67. # 83 “bgy” What was HH saying to attract too much attention? Please let me know I didn’t have a chance to listen to the Radio….

  68. If YOU FIND THAT ALMOST ALL TONGAs ARE TRIBALISTS,ITS OUR JOB THOSE OF US WHO ARE NOT TONGA TO HELP THEM CHANGE THEIR ATTITUDE THAN JUST CONDEMNING ALL OF THEM. I PERSONALLY HAVE MANY CLOSE FRIENDS AND BUSINESS ASSOCIATES WHO ARE TONGA AND NON TRIBAL,THE TRUTH IS THAT THEY ARE VERY STRAIGHT,TRUTH AND STRICT IN THEIR DEALINGS.TABAFWAYA BUKABOLALA IYO ,BUT HARD WORK. LOOK AT ABENA COSTAIN CHILALA. SO LETS NOT LOOK FOR SPECKS IN OTHER TRIBES’ EYES WHILE IGNORING LOGS IN OURS. IM HALF SENGA AND BISA.

  69. I was a supporter of UPND until Mazoka died and the UPND made it clear that what they needed was a Tonga for President and nothing else. I would never vote for HH no matter how brilliant people claim he is. UPND you started the tribal talk dont blame others. People watched on TV as declarations were made about the need for a Tonga President those of us not Tonga were thrown out of the party. HH you made your bed now lie it. Why do you want us to vote for you when you cant allow a non Tonga like me to be President of your party? HH ask your tribesmaen to vote for you period! I still mourn the loss of Mazoka who made me feel welcomed in the UPND and not this chancer! by the name of HH

  70. #88 “zast” We don’t know the whole truth about our President’s sickness so why should we keep praying for him?? Maybe he is dead already…

Let HH or whoever has good leadership qualities lead our country.

  71. No.41 you are right neither Hichile, Sata or Nevers will become president but the issue is who is our next potential president is it Miyanda? Where is MIyanda can some one tell me still in politics? WOuldnt he make a good president what do you think blogers? As for Hichilema no ways he will divide the country into pieces remember how the TOngas behaved when we thought Mazoka won the electons that year. HH may be good but the fact that he is tonga its doest make him a good canditate Tongas are TRIBALISTIC pls always remember this

  72. #90 DUDE MKIZE – Thanks for educating all the TRIBALISTS
I’m not Tonga as well “Half Tumbuka and Senga”

  73. #1 how can you compare Mabenga to Mbeki. Mbeki is so intellegent and no one can dispute this. he said there was no crisis in Zim after the elections because no one had died by then. when pipo where killed he said its a pity Zim is going thru such a thing. Today the parties signed an agreement and the talks have started this is how intellengent pipo work they do not talk senseless like Mabenga the best word he would have used was there are no divisions in MMD not CRISIS.

  74. Mwasosa ba-#90. I must make mention that I have no problem with people calling me a tribalist as long as I know I am not one even if I am a full real Tonga.
However, I have a problem with people who fail to provide credible evidence on information which they fabricate. While it is/was known that Tongas are polygamists, you still find some Tongas who just have one wife; Lozi’s (tribes that constitute this one) eat hopani, you still find Lozi people who don’t eat hopani; Bembas steal, you will find Bembas who can never be associated with pilfering; and so on and so forth.
Let those who think they have a case against HH raise it with proof instead crying out like gongs which are uncontrolled.

  75. #93 TKC you are a tribalist. What language do you want me to use for you to understand that it does’nt matter who becomes President i.e HH or whoever as long as they have good leadership qualities. Dont judge a person according to their tribe, you are behaving like South Africans..

Miyenda is a good leader I agree with you but its seems we “ZEDs” dont like him. He can be a good President….

  76. YOU ARE WELCOME WENA NJOBVU KAZI,TRIBAL TALK BELONGS TO THE STONE AGE.THIS IDEA OF BRANDING EVERY GROUND ROTTEN IN A BASKET,SIMPLY BECAUSE YOU CHEWED ONE WHICH IS SUCH IS WHAT HAS MADE MOST AFRICAN COUNTRIES LAG BEHIND IN ECONOMIC EMANCIPATION.OBAMA IS HAILED BY AMERICANS OF ALL COLOR,RACE NAD CREED BECAUSE OF HIS CREDENTIALS.AS FOR ME I DO NOT LOOK AT ONE’S TRIBAL INCLINATION BUT WHAT HE OR SHE ABLE TO DO FOR ZAMBIA’S BETTERMENT.I WISH THIS TRIBAL TALK CAN CEASE,ITS SO NAUSEATING MWANDI.AND RETROGRESSIVE,TO SAT THE LEAST.

  77. We all know that as a country we have lucked so much in terms of infrustructure development ,but look here is a young man ready to devote all his time to serve his mother country.
Look at these young leaders and what they are doing in their countries:Barack Obama (46 years),Kikwete(Tanzania,45 years),Meles Zinawi(Ethiopia,46 years),Kabila(DRC,below 40 years),surely our own HH around 46 will surely make it.
It is an era of leaders with fresh blood and ideas.

  78. Can I be educated on what people mean when they say tongas are tribalistic? Do they kill other tribes? Do they steal and approriate what is not tehirs to their tribe? Do they employ only tongas when they are in positions of influence? If the answers to these questions are in teh affirmative, please provide Concrete evidence, otherwise, your arguments will alawys look like attacks against tongas. I have not seen anyone a sustained argument on bemba tribalism which by the way is there for all to see.. the Jobs, the leadership positions, the disdain for other people especially tongas. In truth, they just feel threatened that others have more substance to offer other than baseless attacks

  79. tha hr has gone,it came way to back and we ain´t gonna live in the past no more.I for one totally agree with you # 101.We need more young guys to take over and the ma ma dalas should go back to the land and look at the world food crises.

Mosccow Russia…..me add is [email protected].
    Hope to hear from you

  80. If HH does not have leadership qualities, I ask fellow bloggers to focuss on his flaws i.e. Is he really capable, rather than Is he Tonga? Becasue when you do that, it makes you look full of hatred. Provide us with evidence of his thieving and corruption. That sale of mines story wont sell with some of us because if that were teh case, HH would have been arrested by now, especially going by the fact that people hate tongas so much. Please provide evidence.. why are you not doing that?

  81. y cant pipo like nervas mumba,HH and the likes of sakwiba and miyanda join hands. i think they can mek a very good team of young political leaders.SATA IS A FINISHED MAN

  82. Petty accusations on the man of the moment, HH, by ba-Hon. Sata which is synonymous with most sentiments on here.
“When we are trying to teach Hichilema governance, but the boy is twisting the story like as if he is privatising Zambezi Sun,” he said…Sata also said MMD national secretary, Katele Kalumba, should be given a benefit of doubt because he was innocent until proven guilty…”You can’t judge him. He is innocent until proved guilty,” said Sata.’ – Hon. Sata. see: ht tp: / / maravi . blogspot .c om / 2008 / 07 / there-would-be-vacuum-in-pf-without-me . ht ml for more details.

  83. #90, thanx for your comment, Atleast someone today has spoken something sensible. With time there’ll be no tribes as people will be half this, half that. or even quarter this quarter that and half that. Check this combination, Half Lozi, Half Bemba, or Half Tonga, Half Aushi(abena Luapula),half Tonga, quarter Bemba and other quarter portuguese!!!!! For me I’m half ngoni, half ila. Interesting isn’t it!!!!!!

  84. If i was to be waken up from my sleep,i would go for HH.
You overstand mankind.Zed does not need radom politicians,
if any thing we don´t loud politricians too cos all the do
is make alot of noise without sense in whatever they say.
Those talikng bout Tonga been tribalists, have an ice age mentality, long tym we thought Zed was one but guess they say so cos they are.
    1,not Zedians maybe
2,still living in the past(ice age)
3,they just don´t know waht they are talking about.
4,never in their life tym have they gone to any place apert from the provinces just in Zed to see for theselves.

You will never walk in a Tongas man home and live on a hungry belly hence any able Zedian is able

  85. Lindsay you have hit the nail on the head about bembas. Last year I found a bemba man whi has been living ina village in mapanza for over 10 years. This guy was still speaking in bemba and everyone else accomodates him. cant imagine a tonga man in a village in Kasama speaking tonga. It just does not happen. In short everyone must conform to bembas and if the ydont, tehn they are tribalist.. How many bembas speak other languages and what does it say about them?

  86. #112, I also met one, I think, last year who had been staying in Monze for about 5 years who could not answer me back when I greeted him in Tonga. This incident happened when I was travelling from Livingstone to either Mazabuka or Lusaka somewhere just after Pemba when the man joined us having come from doing some business in rural Pemba area.
What shocked me is that that Bemba man made mention that he learnt at Monze Secondary school and his father and family, I think, had stayed in Monze for some time too.
Despite all this, he failed to respond to: Mwabuka buti. This forced me to speak to him in another language probably Bemba or English – but his English must have been tricky 4me.

  87. Dudu Mukize & Njovu Kazi,
Your arguments are what i call “Objective thinking.” Zambia is too big for anyone to point at a particular tribe as being tribalistic. lets educate each other where we think a friend is lacking. Noone tribe holds the monopoly of leading the country and so any good leader should get the support of thoz that vote with objectivity. There are good tonga people and bemba people as well as other tribes, but i think it was wrong for certain “tonga” individuals to proclaim “vote” for a local team, but that definitely should not be the basis to condemn everyone that hails from there like some insults we are hearing on this blog now directed at everyone who comes from South

  88. ‘Sata’s Patriotic Front is presently facing serious challenges, and in particular they need to confront head-on the danger of intra-party factionalism. This danger has its roots in several factors: the rough handling and marginalisation that many outstanding party leaders have experienced at the hands of Sata has left a strong legacy of bitterness and resentment – the walking wounded. This has cultivated tendencies towards excessive defensivism, and also habits of counter-factionalism in some cases, with party leaders running the danger of falling excessively into the same type of politics they have been criticising in the ruling MMD – of palace manoeuvres.’-POST Editor on:maravi.blogspot.c om

  89. Im somehow disappointed the way supposedly learned people are portraying their ignorance on this blog. I wanted to assume that any person who has access to this site is educated, but to my surprise its like there is a mixed multitude.I ve read all the articles from #1 to 101 but what I find is Tongas are tribalists, Bembas are thieves etc, what benefits do such sentiments have when you are supposed to argue sensibly and propose with sincere reasons that a Mr A can be a better president than a Mr B. Iam sick of this kind of approach to issues, please change. If you have nothing sensible to write you are better off keeping quite. I would love to see mature ideas here esp. that Im far from home

  90. #112, 113, One day I was trying to navigate myself in the interiors of Chibombo, were you find lenjes and tongas. It was a challenge to communicate since I know neither of the two languages. To my surprise I founda Bemba man, nicely settled in this area amidst the so called ‘tribalists’. That man saved my life that day. I just thank God the tongas and lenjes who allow everyone to settle in their areas. In my line of work, I’ve even met Bemba/Ngoni headmen in tongaland. So, who is tribalistic, tongas or bembas?????

  91. I don’t understand people like #112 who is asking why bembas can’t speak other languages well, it all comes down to our history in the mining sector. When the Lozis sold the mines in copperbelt province while sitting in some village in kalabo back in 1890s to Cecil Rhodes and Co. and the mines began to be operational commercially, there was need for labour, for some reason a lot of northers got to CB early and began to work for the colonial gov’t and in the mines and as a result of that Bemba became the standard language to be used in CB and this have been like that since then. The bemba language grew and spread naturally because other Zambians who were working in the mines had to learn …

  92. #118 the point I am trying to make is, why is it that when you go to Southetn province and find a bemba man, that man will alawys speak to you in bemba even after having settled there for over ten years, but you WILL NEVER find a tinga man sitting in bamba land for so long and still speaking tonga? I am not talking about the Copperbelt! For those not wanting to talk tribe, the truth is that this is an issue and we need to discuss it

  93. #109 ESK! Thats the spirit. The earlier we abandon this tribal rhetoric the better for the development of this country. Lets now focus on the ability of presidential candidates based on their profiles rather than where they come from,as long as they are Zambians vying to lead all Zambians.
And for those bloggers that think one candidate is a thief or incapable, I for one am ready to listen to their argument as long as there is evidence to that effect and not just based on unfounded hatred. Abash hatred in Zambia!! Viva one Zambia One nation!!

  94. #118 You must be one of the chaps who have been advocating to make Bemba an official language in Zambia. I have been following the nonsense you have been writing from the beginning, to hell with you. All tribes are just as important in Zambia.

  95. Great stuff #117.#118 my experience with the Bemba man took place near Monze which is in Southern Province and not CB. Anyhow, I am not asserting that all or enough Bembas must learn Tonga or any other Zambian language. Im merely stating the fact that some of us have been able to accomodate everyone in this life. Some people have mistakenly taken me for a Zimbabwean when they found me a group of Zimbos. I am constantly mistaken for a South African also. This is simply because I am able to communicate just in basics of most of the Sothern African Languages.Advice to my fellow Zambians is that learning other languages increases a person’s level of sophistication and you gain instead of losing.

  96. Cont’d from 118

To learn the Bemba language to work and communicate with others in CB. Bemba has not been forced on anybody. It is not like Lozi where some Lozis have tried to force other tribes living near them into speaking Lozi when they have there own languages, that is tribalism which has been planned. I have seen how Lozis try to force everyone in western province to speak or use Lozi so that they can spread their language distribution but it can NEVER work. The Bembas have not done this and that is the beauty of it. However, you do find some Bembas who try to use the language distribution issue to look down on others which is not good too. I am half Bemba, half Nkoya living in RSA

  97. I need to understand what people mean when they say tongas are triablistic. As a tonga person, this generalisation is very painful. I do not consider myselt tribalistic at all and I have lived in multicultural contexts both inZambia and abroad. I am a law abiding citizen who pays my taxes. I have never been involved in antisocial activities, so I need for those calling all tongas tribalistic to please elaborate. Sre tongas going to kill off everyone? Are they going to steal and give the ill gotten goods to tongas to teh eexclusion of all others. Please help me undesrtand.

  98. #123 I don’t know about Lozis since I am not one, but my point is, in Tonga land surely no one has forced that bemba man to speak tonga becasue he has been freely speaking bemba for over ten years and everyone accommodates him. You know On a number of occassions pople have walked to me and my sister and asked us why we love speaking tonga. But what should I speak? I grew up in Mapanza and the language there is tonga and if I am spaking to my sister surely you dont expect me to speak bemba. Does speaking bemba make me any less tribalistic?

  99. Please spare us from this tribal sentiments. I have had Tonga friends from the time I was young. The question of tribe has never arisen to me. They were friends and treated me as such. In fact I married a tonga and my in laws accepted me with both hands and none complained that I was a chewe from Eastern. So all these tribal sentiments I don’t buy them. The Tongas are the most lingua – flexible people if I am to use that term for lack of a better one. There is no problem for them to tune to home service and speak in their beautiful tongue when they are together. Every one does that. The Bemba do that; the Nyanja speaking do that; why should it be a problem for Tongas please.

  100. “We are hopeful that it is just a matter of time…he is under good care,” he said.
Mr Mulongoti said updates on the President’s condition would be given as and when it would be necessary because medical personnel attending to him had a time table for releasing information.
“The President’s condition is stable, so there is no need for concern or worry. Medical personnel will let us know if there is any change,” Mr Mulongoti said.
Mr Mulongoti called on leaders to exercise caution, dignity and sensitivity when debating Dr Mwanawasa’s illness, so that they do not offend his relatives.
He said the law provides for privacy even for those in public office.

Surely experience is the best teacher Mr Veep Rupiah Banda. I am very much behind and with you on this one.

  102. #125 It is not a crime to speak your own language anywhere in Zambia. If you want to use Tonga then that is fine, I know a lot of Zambians that speak their own language any where freely. Personally I have no problems with any tribe, I just understand how certain people are brought up and how the are taught to believe. The problem in Zambia is that people don’t travel a lot outside the urban areas. It is a good culture to learn about other people’s cultures and languages if you can. I find that it helps to harmonise things. I can speak all languages across Zambia and this skill have made me a lot of friends. Let us not be tribal.

  103. I hope this tribal talk is all humour. We need credible leaders for the country regardless of their tribe. The same blood runs in the bodies of a tonga, bemba, lunda etc.Looking ahead I think General Miyanda will do this country proud.

  104. #125 Rosemary. I have observed that noone will give you a proper reason why they call tongas tribal. Dont bother yourself therefore about people who use hatred as their reason to lable a particular tribe. As a reasonable person all you need to do is focus on bloggers who are making positive contributions and ignore the ‘tribal champions’. That way, you will find your life easier. I have seen quite a number who are objective on the blog like ESK, Concerned citizen, Hhehhehhe and a few others.

  105. It is a pity how as Zambians we let golden opportunities go by because of the stereotyping we inherited from our ill educated and less exposed ancestors. For sure these tags we are putting on each other without facts to back our ascertions show how shallow minded we are. Zambia is in critical need of a good leader and all we do is to support poeple on tribal lines. I still reiterate that we lost an opportunity in late Mazoka but thank God LPM redemed the situation. Here is another opportunity in HH and I can see it slipping away. HH is already rich and I believe he wants to offer service to his country. He can afford anything in this world without being a president.Be objective quality first

  106. I liked what Gen Miyanda said in the post of today….. he has a cool head. Let us not create a crisis where there is not one. He has qualities that we might be looking for…… he could be one of the options when we reach the bridge of change of leadership. In the meantime its a wait and see its situation.

  107. Big ups #131 and 132.

Let us develop our Zambia. We only have one and it saddens me to note that we are so behind infrastructure-wise, technologically and economically compared to most of our neighbours even Zimbabwe and not to mention Japan.

Please, Zambians, this is time to rise about petty issues and focus on how Zambia must look like and be in five (5) years time.

2030 is too far. We need 5 year plans in place so that we can cut the social divides.

  108. HH is a great man indeed!! Each topic on this blog involves his name and evokes emotions from both supporters and haters. Even when he is not the subject he attracts so much debate. I have observed that his headline story on article 36 attracted the most blogging. Fellas get yourselves a life and leave the man alone. Otherwise you haters are making him look like the real threat he is to the one you are hallucinating to get into plot 1. Why don’t you for example debate on ken Ngondo, Miyanda, Nawakwi, Katele etc if you think HH is not a factor? Why mention his name a million times if he is merely a provincial leader? Pilizi mafela guide me on this.

  109. #135 I do agree with you though the problem with the General is that he has no team that he can work with. Unless probably he joins some camp, which one I do not know. For this reason I feel the young man (HH) still stands a better chance. What do you think?

  110. Caesar, concerened citizen, and even anonymous, Thank you. I will not say any more. You are right. I am just getting wound up and there is no need. We should just recognise that we all have a lot to offer regardless of where we are from.

  111. I believe that HH, Sata and any politicians thinking of going into state house must address the online community even though we don’t make a difference in terms of voting. The key success of Obama has been how his campaign team has used the internet to campaign and raise campaign funds through the internet. It might be to early for us but politicians should be seen to be in touch with the times. Just having a website for a political party is not enough, we want live blogging between HH or Sata against the online community so that all those with questions can ask the candidates what there plans are and from there we can determine who is going to be the better leader for the nation.

  112. #130 Observer,
I totally agree with you on Miyanda. He may have his weaknesses as any human being, but the man has high morals. Am sure even LPM wouldnt be disappointed to leave the office to a person like that. But the only problem he has is that he doesnt trust most of the Zambian politicians and as a result he is alone. He needs some influential people to help him campaign. He has already made his mark in Zambian Politics and all he needs is to stand in rallies and assure Zambians that he is ready to offer his services. Those who read the Post today will agree with me that there is a lot of wisdom from his comments on the situation in the country. It kind of gives you some hope.

  113. #135, how was the Ministry of Education run when B. Gen. Miyanda was then minister especially the affairs of UNZA? UNZA was affected by 2 long closures of about 7 and 8 months respectively. And yet, UNZA is the higher most learning institution we want to see economic, political, social and technological advances to emanate from. The 2 long closure aforemention resulted in a loss of 2 academic years, a thing which has delayed most of us then UNZA students for a considerable time in this life.
Ladies and gentlemen, time for experiments has ended. This is time to utilise tested human resource(s). Zambia needs an economist or engineer or scientist at this critical point in time of our history.

  114. I SALUTE YOU CAESAR(#114),IF THIS BLOG HAD PEOPLE OF SUCH SUBSTANCE ,WE WOULD HAVE BEEN SHARING VERY PROGRESSIVE IDEAS AND SOLUTIONS TO THE MANY PROBLEMS THAT ZAMBIA HAS. IM A PROGRESSIVE PERSON AND LOVE THE LIKES OF YOU.AN EVIL MIND WILL ALWAYS CONDEMN OTHERS AND PRAISE SELF,THESE ARE THE TRIBALISM TALKERS OF THIS BLOG.IF I SEE SOME GOOD IN A BEMBA,TONGA,LENJE,KAONDE,LOZI,NGONI,LUNDA,LUVALE,CHEWA,ETC,I WILL EMULATE THAT AND STRIVE TO IMPROVE MY PERSONALITY.

  115. 138, I agree with you 101%. The young man’s name is littered everywhere on this blog even when the topic is far from being about him. He definately is the most popular on this blog. Only time will tell, all he needs is to get organised at the grassroot level. Who knows maybe he can be our saviour, God willing.

  116. #144 – Rosemary, kamujatisha noba-cizi bangu nchito mpati njomwajata eeyi. Amupone kabotu oko kufumbwa nkomubedde icalino.

  117. Viva Miyanda that the way you taught sata manners on what he thought he was going to win suport by calling a board.HH is intelligent he consulted extensively before come up with his position.i like the way miyanda explained the article 36,38,39 on the post.sata must be ashamed the wise advise from the General has cleared the issue.there can never be a vacuum in government system.the board can not be intertained at this moment miyanda said.the procedure is far from the shalow knowledge sata has for the board to be instituted

  118. Am kind of confused with the kind of comments coming from Anonymous. I dont know if its one person, but that aside, Anonymous #142, your idea is very brilliant and i love it. Thats the kind of ideas we need to have on the blog. You have my support on that one!
As for #140, I dont have much problem with HH. But my opinion is that if he has to make a mark, maybe what he needs now is to go to various provinces, recruit people in key positions in his party from each of these provinces and gain some confidence from lower class group. As it is now I think he is mostly in touch with the middle & upperclass more than the actual voters.

  119. When people were busy jumping up and down for the lake A. Mazoka in 2001, I was considering women candidates like Gwendolene Koni (spelling) and Inonge Mbikusita Lewanika. Ultimately, I did not participate in voting for I saw no credible candidate then. I still have my 2001 voter’s card for those of you who want to see it to come to terms that I never voted for UPND and its leaders before in my life even if I am Tonga.
I was attacked by some of the non-Tongas who were agitating for ‘vote-wisely’ at UNZA who claimed I spoilled the Presidential Results. By the way, I also did not vote for M(r)s Nawakwi as Munali MP in that same election. I hope this time, I will implement the ‘vote-wisely’.

  120. What concerns me most is the issue of morals. Some highly educated fellows are today in courts being persecuted for plunder. My prayer is that this nation will find a man who will not personalise national resources, but a man who is visionary and selfless and also intelligent. This is why it pains me that while our man is lying sick in hospital, political vultures are getting set to take advantage. I pray that he recovers so that we have time to vote with cool heads in 2011!

  121. #33, russia_moscow. I have a problem in java. I am trying to run a security program employing RSA algorithm in ECB with PKCS1 padding. The problem is that the command below;

    “import org.bouncycastle.jce.provider.BouncyCastleProvider;”

    gives the following error shown below;

    “package org.bouncycastle.jce.provider does not exist”

Please help man. I am not a programmer in java but just trying to develop interest. What do I do to correct this error?

  122. viva sata viva pf we need implementation of policies not university theoreticians, who even as they are economists but they still cant explain the relationship among appreciation of kwacha, high copper prices, high taxes and high food prices all they know is theoretical fiscal policies which they implemented while stealing zambian money. we need pipo who can act and not entice the pipo on the platform like ftj

  123. Appears we are all tribalistic here.Bemba this,Tonga that.look lets talk facts.HH is brilliant but his cadres-some on this blog-are tribalistic.that wil cost him.Sata is a crowd puller.he speaks politics of the stomach.but he is old&may b end up at percy.Miyanda has no allies. Chirwa must choose another party.u seem not 2 see that Maureen is a real threat.she wil use the symphathy vote. MMD wil use her.4get tribal politics.but then again mwebantu why cant we join in the fray?lets rule with them.

  124. #154 -Anonymous. Find HH’s profile on: ht tp: / / zambianchronicle . com / 2008/02/17/ zambia-votes-11-hakainde-hichilema-vs-mr-michael-sata-king-cobra-for-president-2011-week-2 /

In the above, just remove the spaces such that the web address becomes compact. All the best as you search for more on HH and other credible and educated leaders.

In the meantime, I wish the President Mr LP Mwanawasa (SC, Hon. Doctorate-USA) a quick recovery and good health.

  125. #157. Big Sando, I am serious considering your suggestion or is it a question:
‘but then again mwebantu why cant we join in the fray?lets rule with them.’

    Enjoy yourselves people.

  126. All level headed people should be wary of Politicians (people aspiring for public office) especially in a poverty stricken country like Zambia. Just because someone says “Iam going to develop the nation” does not mean he will do that.

The constitution and the rights it upholds for individuals is the core issue. We all have different backgrounds and aspirations in life but we cant rest our lives on the basis of promises made by Polititians.

  127. ladies & gentlemen how does tribalism become centre of this?sata HH and everyone is a tribalist but its only the degree that differ and if you not one yet its only probably that you have not just found yourself a victim yet.just wait. Support your local-young-aged team.”Ulembwe wachipuba wapwilile muli tumfwe”

  128. # 1 i think we might swallow our words here, mbeki seems to be making headways . BOB and Morgan are sorting things out now

  129. How many Politicians will go and campaign on the basis of facts witout some vote buying mechanism in place. All practice some form of rigging in one way or another. The masses are moved by sweets strung to them in form of sweet sounding promises. Chiluba was a master at this. Yet the blame truly is on the masses. Why concentrate on the Politicians when you still dont have a constutution that protects against and abets against abuse. The sweet sounding words I guess. No matter who is elected in office, without a proper constitution, will find a platform suited for abuse.

  130. #145 hhehhehhe, I agree with you one of the most criticised ares of Miyanda’s performance is the University. But lets start from the time he was Minister without Portfolio, then VP. The man showed good qualities of leadership and high morals, but it appeared our then president did not have a soft spot for straight persons, (the case of LPM in 1994.) After demotion to Education Minister, FTJ seemed determined to discredit Miyanda such that even decisions that Chiluba made regarding UNZA became so unpopular, but they were all attributed to Miyanda.
E.g wen students were brutalised in 2001, Chiluba never condemned the brutality like LPM did recently wen 2 students were shot at by Police.

  131. #163 good. HH is a useless chap who only wants to enrich himself the way he store money from sale of mines. Miyanda can
    do better.

  132. enough of tribalism from all of you in this blog!!!!!!!!!!!!
lets discuss sensible issue. who is more credible among mpombo, teta, katele, mabenga, lupiya, moreen etc to rule zed

  133. #169 Mr Cockroch – How do you choose such a name. Whenever HH is mentioned, tribalism starts. This means that the guy (HH)is tribal. To avoid the issue of tribalism, lets not talk about HH as president coz he is useless and a big thief. Maybe we need to try Danny Pule (Joke!!!)

  134. I am still puzzled at the picture on this article. Why all of a sudden people are saying there is crisis and the MMD symbol has resurfaced. Maybe its time they changed the slogan to “the hour has gone”

  135. #168 – say what you like but you are making HH prominent on this blog. Why don’t you leave him alone if he were useless like you say? Why do you pipo like that name HH? It is becoming like air we breathe on this imaginary forum – the blog. Why not talk about prominent politicians who can win and who are ‘useful’

  136. #154, The minimum number of animals HH has his farm with the lowest number is 700 and he has more than 22 such farms. He has more than five international companies and he has served on several board where he has been chairman. These include Barclays Bank Zambia Ltd, Sun International, Greenbelt Fertilsers etc. His full complete profile cannot fit on this page unfortunately, but on his downs, he lost the 2006 elections after winning convincingly at the convention which had delegates from all the provinces of Zambia. You will realise that HH won landslide against Sakwiba Sikota. Even if all the votes from Southern Province where to all be given to Sakwiba Sikota, HH would still have won.

  137. The way some people defend some Politicians, you would think that those Politians are Angels, imaculate, with full and complete formulae for shooting Zambia to stardom (if there ever is/will be such a thing). NCC is a more serious issue right now for the country. Not mortal men in the form of Politicians.Traditinally the tribes ruled themselves or were conquered by other tribes, not so now. Then, numbers did not count, courage counted. Tribal Politics takes us back centuries. Quit this tribal nonsence.

  138. Which sections of the Constitution are retrogressive and how can we ensure that those sections do not form part of the Constitution?

  139. Do not be misled by the know it all attitude that HH potrays that he has answers for all the problems Zambia has. He might have the commercial background etc but that is a completely different ball game compared to running a country. Fellow Zambians do not be gullible, take your time in chosing a leader please. Even Chama Chakomboka promised paradise if he was voted into office because, he said, he knew where the wealth of the nation was. Why not be patriotic and advise the current govt. on how it can be done better than wait until you are in office?
    Think again!

  140. #172. You have talked sense Mafela-Senga hill. So we progress.
#169 cocroach, from the names you have mentioned, I wouldnt go for any of them. I think for now MMD needs to reorganise themselves. They have had a good leader in LPM…though he was not liked by many when he came into power, the man has managed to rise to the occasion and instill some confidence in majority of Zambians. Without him, I see MMD struggle to pull it off this time. Remember he was their unifying factor? can you imagine Katele winning the party Presidency and Teta supporting him, or vice versa? I doubt. The way I see it, there are 2 camps in MMd already. One led by katele, and another comprising the family tree!!

  141. The constitution making process if properly done will ensure that whether be it a Bemba, Tonga, Kaonde his tribe will not matter, it will not be “its time for us as well” atitude. The President will truly be an office and not an individual per se.

As it is, the guy who occopies it, in a way is justified when he says to quote “power is sweet” because like it or not it is open to abuse.

Let us be seen to be going forward for once.

  142. HH is famous on the blog simply because he has been the last speaker. When Sata opens his mouth the same will happen. If you want to look at who is most popular between HH and Sata… refer to the last election. Sata got more votes than HH. Is the situation the same? it looks like. Nevetheless these two are not my option for President. HH allowed tribalism when he jumped on the scene from nowhere to assume UNDP leadership. He sponsored those Tonga for UNDP Voices. Sata is too old and fragile. People lets learn in life. Sata just survived a stroke 2 -3 months again. You want to put in pressure cooker position again.

  143. Akashambatwa in ‘The Post’ July 22 observed that it was unfortunate that people now regarded money as a qualification to aspire for higher political position. He charged that some people that currently aspire for govt. office were likely to be thieves because they could not tell the people that they honestly earned the money through productivity.
He was right in every sense. Most of you think that simply because HH is rich then he has the right to the Zambian Presidency, this is not the case, not this time around.

  144. #178, I would like to remind you that the UPND is on record for having been producing an ‘ALTERNATIVE BUDGET’ parrallel to the one the GRZ provides for a long time now. So your comments on ‘Why not be patriotic and advise the current govt. on how it can be done better than wait until you are in office?’ need to be re-evaluated and maybe echoed to PF and Hon. Sata.

#166, thanks. I here you on B. Gen. as Minister without Portfolio and republican Vice President with the ‘(the case of LPM in 1994.)’ you have mentioned. Nonetheless, I do not want to go into that because I think Miyanda is really cool only that he has no National appeal – check 2001 and 2006 P. Election Results.

  145. #180, what do you understand by democracy? This follows your “HH allowed tribalism when he jumped on the scene from nowhere to assume UNDP leadership.”
Kindly inform us how HH allowed tribalism as in, how did he do it?
To the best of my knowledge, there was a convention from which the then acting President Sakwiba Sikota lost the UPND Presidential election clearly with only himself to blame. Tell how delegates from all the 9 provinces could vote for HH, and not Saki, in terms through tribalism. Are you saying NW, N, E, Lus,W,Luap, C and CB provinces are all Tonga lands? UPND was a leading opposition having sympathisers from all tribes across Zed then and now too. Justify your claims!

  146. H.H cant see the crisis, my foot,!!!!!!! Sata has seeen the crisis, H.H will see it when its too late.

H.H wants to rule Zambia, his current stance gives you an idea how a poor stratagist he is.

We are taking over, you chaps will run, you will scamper-twalateka uno mwaka nakabili.

For the chaps who dont support Sata fine-we know the reason-you are not BEMBA

  147. Some people here who think are balanced in there positions are not, becuase they are inclined clearly towards certian Polititians regardless of the realities of the present Constitutional imbalances. How can you say to a boxer, jump in and wack your opponent when clearly there is no referee to officiate the match. It is a free for all kind of situation. If either opponent decides to use underhand methods, what the hell. This is the situation in which we are. Dont encourage office abuse because you are dealing with fallible human beings.

  148. Anynymous, can you comment on the Executive Powers in the Cosntitution. I seem to think that too much power is still vested in the Presidency. Thsi is why people look up to teh President for anything, including when they want to set up a company. the President runs everything

  149. # 185 Abuse of office will not occur if the constitution was strengthened and followed. It is because of the fallibility of humanity that we have rules via the constitution. Let it be obeyed

  150. #184. This;
‘We are taking over, you chaps will run, you will scamper-twalateka uno mwaka nakabili.

For the chaps who dont support Sata fine-we know the reason-you are not BEMBA’
is serious tribalism. It is sad to note. But please reconsider your position again. Its you again – or am I mistaken. Sorry, and forgive me, if I have mistaken your blog-name with someone else.

  151. I have always wondered why people talk about tribalism. I, however, found the answer when I gave a lecture in Kenya three weeks ago. People talk about tribalism when they think they have lost competitive advantage. In most cases, they are either incompetent or lazy fellows who want favours they don’t deserve. And those of you championing tribal politics know that you are in one of these categories. Anyone can rule Zambia just like anyone can feed Zambia. How many of you ever talk about tribes when buying food? Even Chiluba, the most irresponsible man in Zambia always eats food he has never grown and doesn’t care but complains of victimisation when he is caught stealing. Be responsible!

  152. You pipo who are claiming to be learned why do bother to answer back chaps like #184? It seems you are all on the same level. PERIOD!

  153. Did you know that Kamuzu Banda former presdo of Malawi was a medical doctor trained in the UK? Did you now that Robert Mugabe has six earned degrees one of which is from Oxford? Don’t be fooled by appearance simply having “billions” of Kwacha or running a company however small does not make one suitable to be president. If this was the case then we should all vote for BY Mwila as he was a billionaire long before MMD or the famous Prof. Chirwa who as he would like it appear is more intelligent that all 10 million Zambians.

  154. #190 Intelligentia, you seem intelligent to me, just like your name. Chinsali MP, #184, I wish you luck in your campaigns. You can also put up your profile here so that people can see what you have to offer. If you deserve it, we will surely give you the vote rather than making us scamper when you take over.

  155. Zeddy where are you?Am intersted to hear your comments on this topic am sure you will say that MMD is rock solid.

  156. Chinsali MP #184.You say HH will see it when its too late. Too late for what? You seem to know very little for an MP.

  157. No 190, Chiluba could have made mistakes, i want to agree with you but how objective, fair, sincere are you when you say Chiluba is the most irresponsible zambia?

Which province are you from THE INTELLIGENTIA? Be honest

No 189, i stand by my statement

We are taking over, you chaps will run, you will scamper-twalateka uno mwaka nakabili!!!!!

If Northerners/Luapulans were tribal, Katele, mbulakulima would have lost since they stood on MMD tickets.

You Tongas, can yopu tell us why MMD failed to grab one seat in southern province? Did MMD perform so bad to warrant such results? Can anyone who is not UPND win any seat in southern province apart from livingstone which is cosmopolitant

  158. THE HEADING ON THIS TOPIC IS MMD NOT IN CRISIS BUT LOOKING AT ALL THE CONTRIBUTIONS IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS A TOPIC ON HH RATHER THAN MMD. ARE YOU GUYS DAFT OR ARE JUST BEING DULL? IF YOU WANT A TOPIC ON HH JUST WAIT FOR IT

  159. #187 That is part of the current debate (NCC) proceedings and you will note that a number of issues are being discussed. I would be telling lies if I gave an outright answer but I,m inclined to believe so. The History and realities of our time do constitute the process of examining the excesses in the Executive powers of the President. The views of those oposing this position, in my opinion are most useful in arriving at a educated and enlightened position. I hope this partly answers your question.

  160. iwe ka cocroach Chinsali Mp you ve been littering this site with your acient language. why dont you zeep it. you have nothing to say but due to your inferiority complex driven by poverty and stupidity you want to come out as a smart ass . how damn you are. keep quiet before i insult your parents. son of a cross breed between a hyena and a monkey.

  161. Thanks #201. I sincerely hope that Presidential powers are clipped and that the Constitution captures the collective feelings of most.

  162. Sure pipo.topic is MMD crisis.stop the tribal nonsense.no one seems 2 b puttin my fears in check over maureen.MMD are fighting.comprise candidate cud b her.sympathy support wil spur her on.if she takes over, mpombo, shaka&company are safe.ifall we local bloggers stand as MP’s we can change zambia.am standin 2011.how about a vote on who takes over in MMD.i and hehehe wil count the votes.or maybe u choose who counts?to vote just type name.is it maureen, mpombo, chituwo, katele, mabenga, teta, shikapwasha or magande?

  163. HH might make a good president but he needs further scrutiny, especially how he got so rich. Sata is a chamelleon, we can not risk our country by making him president. For now, ba Levy is a good president, lets all pray for him. Our God is miraculous, He shall heal Mwanawasa.

  164. # 202. My friend I think you are too had on Chinsali mp, kindly use language that reflects the home from which you were raised. How would you feel to be describe like that? Peace

  165. #200 Viva Lusaka Times sense at last.

Here is my contribution MMD is not in a crisis just some crazy Niggaz who wanna take advantage of the situation. Teta’s point is however still valid whether LPM comes back fit or otherwise the MMD must start the process of leadership succession may I recomend Brig.Gen. Dr Brian Chituwo for presdo I think he is capable and not a cheap talker.

    Any comments?

  166. #202 we don’t need your insults… we are here to educate each other. Respect is very vital, dont waste our time by insulting cocroah…..If you have no new ideas, keep quite you will not die!!!!!!I wonder where you come from, you are a shame to the society.

  167. SINCE SUPPORTERS OF BOTH SATA AND HH ARE ACCUSING EACH OTHER OF BEING TRIBALISTS, MY QUESTION IS ON WHAT GROUNDS ARE THESE ACCUSATIONS BASED, CAN ANY ONE OF YOU FROM EITHER SIDE LET ME HAVE THE COMPOSITION OF THE TOP BRASS OF BOTH THE UPND AND PF HOW DO BOTH PARTIES COMPARE IN TERMS OF HAVING A FAIR REPRESENTATION OF TRIBES IN THE LEADERSHIP HIERARCHY FORGET ABOUT THE TRIBE OF THE LEADER OF THE PARTY.

  168. The government clearly confirms that there is a void in the Presidency at home, they needed to reconvene parliament and amend a supplement to this specific statutory instrument. As it is right now, and as per secretary to the cabinet’s notice, Rupiah’s acting period expired on July 2nd… Mwanawasa did not stipulate that until he returns but was unequivocal on the end date. “Gazette notice number 307 of 2008, which falls under the statutory functions Act – the statutory functions of the President (Delegation) notice 2008, indicates that President Mwanawasa delegated the functions of the president to Mr Banda. “It is notified for public information that in exercise of the powers contained in

  169. contd…
Article 39 (1) of the Constitution of Zambia, His Excellency, the President did delegate the functions of President to His Honour Mr Rupiah Banda, Vice-President of the Republic of Zambia, from June 28 to July 2, 2008,” reads the notice signed by Secretary to the Cabinet, Joshua Kanganja.”

  171. Buju, No 202-me a cross breed, my foot.

My mum is chinsalian, Dad is a chinsalian also.

I am Bemba and i have no apologies for that. For your bad language, i do not blame you, i heap the blame on your parents and above all YOUR MOTHER NEVER LOVED YOU.

Inferiority complex, ne mwina chinsali, my foot!!!!! Poverty-am not on the list of poor people, my parents too, my siblings equally.

Say what you want Buju, we are taking over and you caps will run, you will scamper. mark my word.

The fact is H.H. has not seen any crisis as at today like Mabenga.

You chaps, the fact is no matter how you much you pretend, succession shall come to pass.

FACT-LEVY WILL NEVER RULE ZAMBIA AGAIN

  172. Why are you guys going on about tribelism. The blessing of Zambia is that we don’t have one tribe more than others we have big 4-Bembas-North, Luapula, Tongas, Lozi and Easterners. No point of forming a tribal party if you want to be prez. So however can win more than their tribal will rule especially if you capture CB and LK and along line of rail. 91 apart from Eastern, MMD won everywhere, 2000, Mazoka did well south and LSK but failed CB, last elections Sata took CB, LSK but failed in rural areas. Does this not show you that support from your tribe will not take you to State House and Manda Hill?

  173. #202 You & yours have stinking blood, your mouth is full stinking insults why cant you for a change ignore fools like #184 or you are the worst fool ZED have ever produced.

  174. PF composition

    Guy Scott is not Bemba,
Given Lubinda is not Bemba but lozi
Nchanga MP who replaced chimumbwa is not bemba but tonga
Should i go on and on???

Can you H.H. supporters give us names of UPND MPs(UDA MPs)who are not Tongas/Southerners apart from that chap from north western

  175. SATA SAID HH IS A PROVINCIAL LEADER THEN I WAS FORCED TO GO AND CHECK ON THE ECZ PRESIDENTIAL RESULTS. I WAS COMPARING ON HOW THE TWO PERFORMED AGAINST EACH OTHER. SATA BEAT HH IN 68 CONSTITUENCIES AND HH BEAT SATA IN 82 CONSTITUENCIES. THEN I ALSO CHECKED ON PROVINCIAL AND I FOUND THAT SATA BEAT HH IN 4 PROVINCES THAT IS LUAPULA, LUSAKA, NORTHERN AND CB. HH BEAT SATA IN 5 PROVINCES THAT IS CENTRAL, WESTERN, SOUTHERN,NORTH-WESTERN AND EASTERN.I SHOULD THINK THAT HH GOT MORE PROVINCES THAN SATA BUT SATA GOT MORE COUNTED VOTES BECOZ HE HAD PROVICES LIKE KUSAKA AND CB WHICH HAS MORE VOTERS.WE SHUD CONSIDER AN INDIVIDUAL AND NOT TRIBE.MY DAD BEMBA AND MUM BEMBA

  176. #219 UPND has MPs in Central, Western and Northwestern (outside southern). If you talk UDA there is eastern province MPs including Chifumu Banda. The Bemba candidates in UPND/UDA lost to PF just like the tonga candidates in PF lost to UPND.

    So get your facts right.

The Top brass in PF is Bemba – Sata, Mumbi (except Guy who you know realistically speaking is not a factor for plot 1 purposes).

There is also the recent Bye election results in Eastern province where UPND (without UDA) beat PF. Imagine it were presidential elections. It shows HH would beat Sata in eastern Province. More later. gata go.

  177. I AGREE WITH MY FELLOW UNZA GUY, WHEN WE ADVANCE AN POINT WE MUST ALSO PROVICE STATISTIC SO THAT WHAT WE PUT ACROSS CAN NOT BE DIPUTED BY ANY ONE. I KNOW DEMOGRAHERS ARE THE PEOPLE WHO ARE TRAINED TO DEAL AND INTERPRATE FIGURE. U SHUD PROVIDE US WITH A LOT FIGURE BUT NEXT TIME TRY TO INTERPRENT THE RESULTS U HAVE GIVEN US. THIS ARE THE PIPO WE ON THIS WEBSITE WHO TALK WITH FACTS .KIP IT UP MY DEAR FELLOW.

  178. HH GOT THIS VOTES BECOZ OF THREE POLITICAL PARTY FIELDING ON PRESDO, THAT IS BIG WIG UNIP LITTLE KNOWN FDD & TRIBAL UPND. WHAT WAS IT CALLED SOMETHING LIKE DDF OR SOMETHING!

  179. #220, goes to prove that since we don’t have an electoral college like the USA, Sata clearly beat HH. In Zambia we go by the popular vote. Also note that Sata’s PF beat UPND in both popular and constituency voting.

In Canada, for edxample, half of the population is in Ontario, win outrightly there and marginally in say Quebec or British Columbia (next popular provinces), you form government. Forget about the other 9 provinces and 3 territories. That’s the popular vote.

  180. annymous. fool or no fool i stand by statements and i dont bow down so easily. i still maintain the stance that cocroaches are the worst tribalists to have come out of zambia.

  181. We are sick and tired of this topic can LT please change it. We have had enough of HH and Sata. This topic is stale. LT dont behave like the nigerian blog called nairaland.com. Any body who is not serious should check it

  182. i do agree with 18 that for real dont compare your HH to obama they are very diffrent one HH has got no speach to capture pipos attention which obama has to prove himsel and the USA not zedian pipo that are very tribleslit in USA they fellow vibe no your HH one day all of us who are abroad we should go home to vote and see what will happen to my view if the USA race was in zed pipo who have voted foe clinton but not in america
so try to look at hh very close and then you know why sata has quality

  183. Sata lost in southern, H.H lost in luapula-fine.

Unza demographer-Why did Sata do so well in Lusaka and Copperbelt? Only Bembas live in these areas????

In my opinion, Lusaka and C.B are a better reflection of who a better candidate is than these remote areas where you find alot of tribal fundamentalists.

My father in chinsali voted for miyanda, can you easly find a tonga man voting for a non tonga? H.H without going to chinsali in 2006 got 1500, can a bemba canditate ever get 1500 votes in the tonga/lozi land-sata got 4 votes in nangoma.

  184. #227. Chikumbuso you are right. Seems people have run out of ideas on this topic and have now started insulting each other.
However, my worry is that which ever topic that comes is only dealt with by the first 3-4 bloggers before it turns to “HH-Sata” debate.
Can you imagine on this topic how many people actually talked about the mabenga issue. Maybe that would give you an idea of what people are really interested in hearing at the time like this.
B4 i go I must also compliment #220 UNZA DEMOGRApher for providing facts on his arguments. Big up to you man!

  185. 124 SHUD NOT ALSO NOT PRETENT THAT HIS BRAIN IS TO SMALL TO REMMEMBER THAT EVEN PF HAD AN ALLIACE WITH ULP. THEY GOT MORE VOTES FROM SAKI SUPPORTS. EVEN THE LAST BY ELECTION UPND WENT AS A POLITICAL PARTY AND THE STILL BEAT PF. WANT ARE U TALKING ABOUT. DONT JUST URGE FOR THE SAKE OF URDING. THINK BEFORE U WRITE.

  186. #231, HH’s getting of 1500 votes in Chinsali shows you that the UPND is organised country-wide. Hon. Sata’s 4 votes in Nangoma tells you that there is no PF representation at all in Nangoma. Therefore, the UPND is a national party while PF is a regional party (or is it tribal).

I hope this explains the logic which you seem to have delibarately failed to notice.

  187. No wonder Politician take advantage of you. You are so eager to vote for them without proper incentives and ideas.

  188. #235, please this is not a porn site. Even if you have challenges in the English Language please spare us your insults. They are utterly disgusting and not welcome in this age and era.

  189. There is urgent need for our brothers and sisters from southern province to change the way they relate to those from other provinces. They know very well that this true, they are selfish and always want to be on top. Tribalism is detrimental to development.

  190. OUR ZAMBIA VOTTING PATTERNS IS ALSO INFLUENCED BY THE TRIBE OF A CANDICATE. LETS TAKE THE 2001 ELECTION.WE ALL KNOW THAT Gen. TEMBO,Gen MIYANDA, and most LEADERS COME FROM THE EAST. THE 3 GOT MORE VOTES IN EASTERN PROVICE.SATA, MUMBA,MWILA PERFORMED VERY BABLY IN ALL THE PROVINCES BUT IN NORTHERN AND LUAPULA THEY DID BETTER.THEN MAZOKA ALSO DID WELL IN SOUTHERN, WEST LUSAKA. THEY NEED A DEMOGRAPHER TO TELL THEM THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE POPULATION.NO ONE CAN WILL WITH CERTAIN PROVINCES I WILL SHADE MORE R

  191. #240, Mazoka won in North Western and Central provinces too. I think he (Mazoka) did well in Eastern Province also.

  192. #….Umwi muntu wakaamba kuti, “respect a fool to avoid noise for the onlookers may not notice the difference”.

  193. #…Nkabela, taata buju, koyozyayozya akuba tondezya kuti swebo tobaku musanza tuzwa kumaanda nkoishigwa kabotukabotu mbuli mbotueledde kukkala aabantu mucisi cesu and amunyika boizulwa.
…Upone cibotu, buju, kufumbwa nkobele omulongwe

  194. i had a rare privilege of having a chat with HH today when he came to buy irrigation pies from my enterprise today today. I have met Miyanda, Sata, Nevers Mumba, Prof Chirwa (at the Post News makers forum and many other high profile politicians but the attention andcussion i had with HH within the 40mins i chated with him is somthing i have never experienced with others. The man is so polite, mature, respectifu, articulate and is clear with what he does and wants to do now. I have no doubt from now that he is the best candidate we have now for Pres. He ghas invited my family for dinner nxt wknd.May God guide that brilliant son of Zambia.

  195. Shidada # 241, Sorry I did not come back to you concerning accommodation in Windhoek. I managed to get one at Windhoek Country Club Resort and Casino. thanx for your response.

  196. I want to inform theeeee nation that now I can type but I can’t talk proparely. However, know for sure that I will be back and am not ready to step down like most of you think. Sata and HH are not presidential material of this country. If things go bad my wife will take over and chipo my baby will be assisting her from time to time. RB for now consult KK on national issue and let him sign for me all unsigned cheque and give them to chipoya.

  197. 249 just because you have been invited for dinner so you want Zambians to vote for him.Bamibosha with food and you give him a discount.Be real HH is cone man

  198. Mr. Chinsali MP, mwalateka again, educate me, has there ever been a Bemba president in Zambia??? Coz the other time I checked I was told neither Kaunda nor Chiluba are Bemba. As for LPM I am sure he is of the Bantu Botatwe. I think thats why there has been some positive change in Zambia. Insults as much as u want but Tongas are hardworkers and honest

Buju ndakomba baleke banyina mulawo pe. Lez mwini ngubika basololi.

  199. #253, mwabandika kabotu kapati ba-Mimi. Tobali amaano atucite izyamaano nkambo tuyandika kubatondezya busololi mbobubedde.

  200. Adventurer,ok. It is one of the best and most expensive hotels in WHK. How long are you here?

  201. Its time to start identifying leaders whether LPM is alive or not. The fact is that this is his last term

    Ngande Mwanajiiti
    Felix Mutanti
    Elias Chipimo Jr
    Kellys Kaunda
    Lee Habasonde

  202. Tongas are not just being honest here, how can any self respecting person rise to power the way HH did and think the stench of tribal bigotry shall, even with time itself, stink-off? As Maximus stated in the blockbuster Gladiators, `what we do in life echoes in eternity`. HH evokes an overly bitter tribal taste in the mouth of most Zambians who still clearly recall the Tonga xenophobic cries of `tulamujaya Saki sunwe pe!`. Were he elected president, do you expect him to prevail over rabid dogs like Sejani and Mwananjiti when they break loose on a spree biting everyone they think is in the Tonga way to Plot 1? Never, so the can go to hell ad hang, “magalu ya chiwewe”

  203. The correct list is:

    Kadobi,
    Munkombwe
    Katele
    Kabuhaya
    Mabenga
    Mwaanga
    Pule
    Kabuhaya

This is the lot most Zambians can relate to easily and it shows why the dogs have to to the nation.

  204. # 257, Those NGO persons you have mentioned are not credible, especially that chap Ngande Mwananjiiti from Afronet. He had been stealing money from his big pocket NGO claiming to be a Human Rights activity. Is it he not the one who stated that UPND can only be led by a Tonga. How can such a chap be a person be a leader?.

  205. Chinsali MP, Your questions are noted. I can prove to you that Chiluba is the most irresponsible Zambian I have ever known in public office. As to how objective I am, I can assure you that I am very objective as i told Chiluba what I am saying now.

As for the rest of you debating tribalism – I would advise you to read Mandela’s speech – “An ideal for which I am prepared to die” and you will see that tribal or racial talk is utter nonsense. Just be responsible and NEVER apply for a job you cannot do like Chiluba did!

  206. come on people whats the hate about tongas, they gat money , yes they gat it, from hard working. so work hard as well and you wont have time to hate cos your mind will be pre occupied with making the money baby …………… for the haters infor my fiancee is bemba am tonga bull so hate more , chibaba iwe

  207. #255Hhehhehhhe and Mimi what is so ‘KABOTU’ about that? Can’t you guys see anything but tribe?
This site has gone tribal crazy because of people like you.I don’t think you guys are happy because all you breed is divisions. How can you just refuse to be objective?
It does not matter where one is from…And if you feel some so called superior tribe or whatever has treated you badly -hard cheese. We need to move forward in life and not just gets stuck with this tribal nigger belief.

  208. And those of you going on and on about how HH got rich should know that the wealth of the British Empire came from its colonies.Look at America which was founded on slavery and piracy.
So before you crucify HH drop you silly pride and study him.Get to know his agenda before you judge him wrongly.Yes he may have obtained his position for other reasons but one has to look at it objectively. How can you judge someone before they utter a word?

  209. UNZA DEMOGRAPHER,you are right for sure. And if this pattern continues sure without fear or favor we all know that Sata verses HH one on one Sata will win bacause Eastern people would rather vote for their Mbuya or tribal cousin. That just the way it is in Zed like it or not!!There are more people residing in Lusaka,Copperbelt,Luapula,Northern,Parts of Central where Sata would get most of the votes.Realism is better than optimism.Bemba is a the biggest Zambian language because Zambia has many Bemba like tribes like it or not.So if people vote on tribal lines then we see Sata winning.HH is a good guy,he must sell himself in the Copperbelt,Luapula,Northern, half of Central,if he is serious!!

  210. #236 hehehehehehe, the logic is simple. Tongas are so tribalistic that they couldn’t do what people in Chinsali did. Don’t you think that could be the most logical way to look at what happened? Thank for the confirmation of what we all have been thinking about. Bembas are not tribal but tongas are. The evidence has been presented here by you thru these results of how the votes were cast in these two areas. One other advise, hehehehehehehe, you are in a hole, please stop digging.

  211. Task force, take a leaf from the Belgrade cops who nabbed Karadzic. Xavier Chungu could be in Lusaka itself, take a close at all heavily bearded chaps. Start with Mpombo!

  212. What a useless site! I opened it to read on the comments by Mr Mabenga only to be engulfed by te HH ……..
Zambians are generally petty. Please learn to grow and, discuss serious matters and stick to topics.

  213. #267.
Check facts before posting bemba’s are not the largest, just because a large majority of people speak the language doesn’t there all bemba.

  214. # 272, I think #267 is talking about “largest language” not as a tribe. For the tribe, you are right. For the spoken language, #267 is right considering the difeerent Bemba dialects that are spoken.

  215. You are all stinking tribalists who want to label others as tribal. Hola I was asking the Chinsali MP to clarify his claim and so what is so tribal about that?? Do not be too sensitive when it is coming from your neighbour and ignore it when it is coming from you. Is it because I used Tonga at some point? What a shame.

If anything there is no tribalism in Zambia, its just here on this blog and just by a few disgruntled people. All the Tongas who have said anything tribal here have all been on the defensive coz someone brought it up. Check your facts. Are we not to defend ourselves? sha.

  216. Northerner. How dare you only mentioned HH and leaving out SATAnyoko in your comment. Get out and go masturbate if you cant stand the heat on this topic. This discussion is not for toddlers like you who is still sucking your thumb and your nose flowing with mucus. Go to bed kid. Mummy would like to tell you a bedtime story.

  217. hola aint gat time for you ,the time i was out i was making me some money , pity for yourself man, get ur lazy self a life and do some constructive, me and my bemba fiance my friend paka infa, am sure u heart is bursting with shame tonga bull for life…

  218. Mimi my sister, go get a rest before somone even annoys you more. Besides, you’re getting too addicted to lt.com. eh! Never forget that you’re out there for school ka.

Oh, you can reach me on my new ID [email protected]. Good luck.

  219. I think this debate on Bemba and Tonga is nauseating. Why can’t this debate be suspended……… Give us a break please, its One Zambia, One Nation. Viva Nationalism. Free men we stand under the flag of our land, Zambia praise to thee, all one strong and free!!!!! Who is Tonga or Bemba but Zambian!!!

  220. Job I hear, thanx for the reminder. It is quite addictive and I heed your advice. By the way when did disclose that am at school? You have kind of caught me off my foot.

  221. #284 Don’t worry my bro we shall always be what we are. Okey let me now write a chapter for my desertation. Have a good night and keep working hard.

  222. this blog stinks like the tongas. some of you guys want to sleep with mimi. do you know if she is a man or woman? ask her to send you her pic. you will never ever think of her in your life. she is a man-eater. if you want nightmares, go ahead. i know and was with her at high school. even real bulls in the tongaland wouldn’t look at her twice. where do think this thing of being on the blog came from? no man in life and will never have. she compensates her flaws with fighting with guys.

  223. #267, please look for the most used language and tribe in Zambia on the net carefully. Google will give you results.
#268, PF has no structure in Southern Province. In fact, Hon. Sata clearly said in his 2006 campaigns that we (PF) does not need votes from Southern Province because he had 8 provinces where he was popular.
This was one of the most tribal sentiments I have ever encountered in my whole life. Politics of divisiveness are evil. We do not need such in this age and era. Please.
On your analysis #268, I am afraid I will inform you that only a person who has serious lack of analytic methods will agree with it. Please, re-look at it carefully and re-consider your position.

  224. #286, please my man/woman reduce and eventually ceased to use such insults.

As a real Tonga, I feel extremely sad that a mature person of your calibre ould raise such terrible insults. However, I understand that you,#286-Anonymous, did not want to insult us (Tongas) but the devil used his tactics to overwhelm you.

Please, confess and repent on that sin before it is too late. Otherwise take care of yourself and try always not to do evil #286.

  225. #Anonymous
You are the Bemba ***** causing problems on this blog shut up if you have nothing productive to say.

  226. You tribal inclined bloggers should know that issues of tribe are very basic and elementary. We have the economy to sort out so what’s your tribe got to do with it?
LT used to be refreshing after a hard days work but now one has to put up with this pertpertual tribal war. When will you ever learn?
If in your sick head you think your tribe is so special then why is Zambia amonst the least developed?
I am beginning to believe that you can take a villager from a village but you cannot take the village mentality out of him.For some of you it will take your children’s children to prove to you that all fresh is the same.

  227. #21 only time will tell but the real driving force behind this man is Zbigniew Brzezinski. This is being his Mentor.

  228. #291. This “you can take a villager from a village but you cannot take the village mentality out of him” really works. I have seen it work for sometime now and most of us villagers will definately agree with you on this your new belief beginning.

For sure, we have got a Zambia to develop. The question is how do we do it (develop-ment)? Is it going to be through tribalism? Is it through putting into Presidential office tested economists, enginneers or scientists? Is it putting into Zed Plot 1 a person without an O-level and/or JSSLE certificate and possibly a Grade 7 certificate? Is it through putting some character who is well-known for telling lies to suit an occasion that save his face?

  229. #293 what we need is someone who has what it takes to be the next pres. not just because he comes from a certain tribe. That is immaterial. Also if people do not give him the necessary support he will not succeed.
I for one would not careless who goes to plot 1 as long as the economy improves and people aren’t taken for granted.
Can you imagine Zambia among the least development?According to statistics even Uganda is now doing far much better than Zambia!

  230. It’s more to do with common sense than education, look FJT a trade unionist who sold the country down the river. Is it through putting some character who is well-known for telling lies to suit an occasion that save his face?, FJT was before he turned on his masters. Levy, is trying but you are only as good as the people that you work with. tribalism?,we are a product of it ,KK would either bribe you with a cabinet place or fire you. FJT was just a tribalist and still is to this day.

  231. #294, we need atleast 17 hr18min sleeping time. And so, having been a PG for some time as a monko pa-Camp, sleeping is immaterial when you are on National duties like these ones – checks and balances.
I have noticed that sentiments echoed on here are being answered by relevant authorities in the other newspapers like the Zambia Daily Mail and others. Hence the need not to sleep carelessly.

  232. mmhymmmm ah we mwe!!!! who the hell does this GOVERNMENT think they foooling..

    ATASE!! KABEPENI IMBUSHI!!!

the hour is ANALOG we need DIGITAL!!!!

  233. zonda uzalema CHIBUKU sinizaleka , it hurts the hater tonga bull is my signature. i urge y`all to work hard.

  234. If the most Honorable FTJ is tribalist, how would you classify HH? Chiluba saved the nation from oblivion due to poor economy and shortages. Probably thats why Mwanawasa is in hospital. God is punishing Levy for persecution of the innocent FTJ. God is working with that terrible friend of yours, Levy. God burnt his brains.

  235. Anonymous, you are a sadist, By the way I know who you are. Please don’t grab my beer without asking me first next time we meet. You have a fake smile, now I know what lies in your heart. Hatred!!! How do I know you? Go figure.
Please check your gramma before you post your comments, i know its hard for your level but try. No more beers from me.

  236. This blog is now stinkin 2 high heaven! The topic was&is MMD crisis.non of u are willing 2 discuss this, why? I think this calls 4 draconian measures. I,as Big Sando am going 2 pound each one of u on yr tribal heads with my national sledgehammer! Since LT seems toothless,am takin over control.all tribalists&insulters,i wil kick yr sorry backsides! Stop the nonsense! You shud all b ashamed. Tribe dnt matter.my dog which is half bemba&half tonga(take joke seriously) can think better than most of u. Understood!

  237. God save us from tribalism. The only consolation is that with zambia’s life expectaancy pegged at 37years, most tribalists on this site are living on borrowed time and will soon depart from this earth with their tribalistic tendancies. And luckily their children cant identifty with any single tribe becoz of inter-marriages; that is the only thing that will save us from ending up like Rwanda, somalia, kenya etc. I thank God for this short life expectancy. Absah tribalism

  238. Shocking that Tonga`s want to rule also, these are chaps who never had chiefs, it took the colonial masters when they came to say-you guys you need traditional rulers.

Read history, you will not find hear about Chief monze of 1805, if you go to other tribes, you will find Litunga of 1800. Mpezeni of 1812, Chitimukulu of 1750.

Lets just form two football teams in zambia and see who are better

    Tonga Bulls Vs Bemba sons

Umu Tonga mutonga-will end here for now

  239. #309, somebody asked you a question that you have not responded to. Could you kindly explain your statement to say, “twalateka again and you will scamper”, I am not particularly interested in the scampering bit because you are too small to make anyone run but my interest is, Has there ever been a Bemba president before in Zambia? Not too long ago on this blogg Bembas went out of their way to prove that neither Chiluba nor Kaunda are Bemba and certainly not LPM. On the other hand I have never heard any Tonga claiming that there has ever been a Tonga President but I believe LPM’s tribe is closely linked with Tongas. Please shed more light.

  240. #314 Bemba’s have always been in the background stealing and all the former presidents have been serogates off them.

  241. No 314-Lady Sue

We Bembas, we are not tribal.

Kaunda grew up in Bemba land, we accepted him and will never doubt/question his being bemba. Kaunda`s reg on tribe reads “Bemba” not TONGA

    we ruled with him.

Luapulans/Northerners are one, if you know history the two provinces were one as at 1964.

Northerners/Luapulans are united and civilised. A bemba will never call mabwe a nyuku-nyuku, a namwanga cant look at a bemba in nakonde as an allien. A bemba in mporokoso cant look at sata(a bisa) as a non bemba.

I hope the unity we have i have explained above answers your question.

Twalateka again, you chaps will run, you will scamper

  242. Imwe banthu imwe, stop talking tribe please,it sucks, stinks and nauseats. We have intermarried so much pa Zed,intermingled so much that tribe no longer seems to be an issue.Lets talk issues and development. What are the issues,MMD crisis,Maureens firm grip on it,identifying a leader from all Parties Zambian with all the necessary qualities to rule Zambia and not based on tribe.Levys seem to be gradually gliding down the issue list now,he needs our prayers of course. Thus what happens when you take people for granted they kick start the process of hunting for a leader and iam sure every Zambian is doing it.By the time MMD gets out of stupor they will no longer have a hand on the process.

  243. I am sure this debate on this blog would do with a little bit of moderation.I fear the tribal talk, some may be doing it innocently without knowing the implications, they are ghastly. Its not a laughable matter, and Zambians do not play jokes with Tribal talk. The world has moved so much, foreigners have intergrated into almost every other developed Country of the world. There economies cannot do without foreign experties, yet we as Zambians we want to talk of ourselves in tribal tones yet we are all black with a flat nose, come on abena Zed.Tribal discrimination is worse than corruption, nastier than racism, its premitive. Thus why Ba KK spend alot of time on ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION we need that slogan

  244. ALL PROVINCES ARE IMPORTANT FOR ONE TO WIN.SATA AND HH LOST TO LEVY BECOZ THEY WHERE ONLY POPULAR IN CERTAINTY PROVINCES.SOME PIPO HAVE URGED THAT SATA WON.IN MY VIEW HE LOST.THIS IS BECAUSE HE DIDNT HAVE DEMOGRAPHER TO ADVICE HIS CORRECTLY. HE THOUGHT BY HAVING CB AND LUSAKA WITH A SUPPORT OF NORTHERN AND LUAPULA HE WAS GOING TO WIN.LITTLE DID HE KNOW THAT THE POPULATION OF ZED HAS 35%N URBAN AND 65% IN RURAL.EVEN MAZOKA MADE THE SAME MISTAKE BY THINKING THAT BY HAVING LUSAKA, SOUTHERN, WESTERN, NORTH-WESTERN AND CENTRAL HE WOULD WIN THE ELECTION BUT HE LOST.IF CERTAIN PIPO THINK THEY CAN NOT CAMPANY IN CERTAIN PROVINCES AND CONCETRATE ON CERTAIN PROVINCES THINK THEY ARE MORE VOTERS,NO GOVT

  245. UNZA DEMOGRAPHER IS MAKING SENSE TO THIS WEBSITE,HE IS PROVIDING WITH SENSE.ALL WE NEED IS TO LOOK AT WHAT A LEADER IS OFFERRING.LET NOT DISCUSE WHAT THEIR SUPPORTERS ARE ALLEGED TOO HAVE SAID.IF WE DENY A GOOD LEADER TO RULE ITS NOT HIM OR HER WHO SUFFERS IT IS THE PIPO OF ZED. COME 2011 LETS LOOK AT WANT THE CANDIDATES WILL BE OFFERRING FOR OUR NATION.ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION.

  246. #316, following “Kaunda`s reg on tribe reads “Bemba” not TONGA”, which ‘reg’ are you referring to?

Mine (Natinal Registeration Card) does not show my ‘tribe’ name – in this case Tonga.

  247. CHILUBA IS THE ONE WHO BROUGHT ABOUT TRABALISM. THE BIG MAN TRIED TO CONTROL TRIBALISM.WHERE EVER HE WENT TO HE PREACHED “ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION” WHEN CHILUBA CAME HE DROPED IT. HE WUD GO TO WESTERN PROVINCE AND THE PIPO OF THAT PROVINCE 90% SPEAK LOZI BUT HE WUD USE BEMBA.WHEN IT CAME TO APPOINTMENTS HE APPOINTED MORE BEMBAS IN HIS CABINET WHICH MADE OTHER PIPO FEEL NOT APART OF THE COUNTRY.WHENEVER A CABNET MINISTER WHO WAS NOT BEMBA RESIGNED AND FORMED A PARTY CHILUBA CALLED IT A TRIBAL PARTY. THIS Y NON BEMBA LEADERS ARE CALLED TO BE TRIBAL IT CAME FROM CHILUBA.

  248. I AGREE WITH UNZA DEMODRAPHER. HE HAS EXPLIANED Y SATA LOST.SATA SAID HE WUD NOT GO TO NORTH-WESTERN, SOUTHERN AND WESTERN PROVINCES TO COMPANY. HOW DO U EXPECT A MIRACLE TO OCCUR FOR SATA TO GET VOTES.OUR LEADERS TO GO AND COMPANY IN ALL PROVINCES.

  249. #326, you are quite right when you indicate that Mr Chiluba FTJ (Honarary Doctor – Malawi) brought tribalism to sweet great Zambia. I just want to add that his right-hand man, Hon. Sata had and still has a great part in the coining up of tribalism in Zambia.
The important thing to note is that people are coming to light over this scheme which the two named advanced to us all Zambians. So, going by what one blogger in the name of Chinsali MP mentioned above, we infer that Bembas in the name of Mr Chiluba and Hon. Sata brought tribalism in Zambia. This explains the tribalism support and comments that are coming from tribal Bembas excluding non-tribal Bembas who have shown objectivity on here

  250. levy is a mirable and he has always be a miracle.when he was involved in a road accident he was taken to south africa. he stayed in the hospital for 3 months.can u magine. today he has just been in the hospital for 3 weeks.he will come back.

  251. Chiluba a tribalist! well

How many ministers today are related(not fellow lenjes/lambas) to levy? FTJ could have appointed bembas, fine and i agree with you, but not what we are seeing today. if you are objective and dont hurt chiluba as a”Bemba” , y are you not condeming levy today?

Relatives 2 mwanawasa-shikapwasha,chituo, shakafuswa, namulambe, mulongoti, masebo, muteteka, lesley mbula, saifwanda, mpopmbo, peter mumba etc.

If you are objective, condem chiluba and mwanawasa for nepotism/tribalism. Who is more tribalistic? Levy or Chiluba? Be objective

  252. #328, UNZA DEMOGRAPHER has come at the right time. He has made a lot of sense to this debate and confirmed my earlier point that PF (Poor Finishers) are a regional party. That is why HH was able to beat Hon. Sata in some parts of Northern Provinces because the UPND is a National Political Party having apeeal from masses of all walks of life across the country.
Ton this end, I re-submit my analysis of the 2006 Presidential Election results I pointed to ill-informed and ill-motivated #286-Anonymous that Tongas did not vote out of tribalism but on wisdom because PF has no party structures and appeal in Southern Province while HH performed well in N. Province owing to the UPND’s having presence

  253. #338 cont’d…there. To win an election you need to be learned and you need learned people who will offer expert advice to you. You do not need to be dictatorial silencing your advisers – who may be trying to help you win an election.

This need for a presidential material to be educated to make sound decision is what Hon Sata and his PF are lacking.

Now, here is free advice, elsewhere you pay dearly, to the PF if they ever hope to win a Presidential Election, stop being tribal and regional; and then form party structures in all the 9 provinces of our great nation. See to it that you put someone with a Grade 12 O-level or equivalent certificate to stand for Republican President.

  254. what i was puting across was that chiluba is the one who started calling non bemba political leaders as tribal.whenever a non-bemba came up he was called tribal. chiluba wud adress the pipo in bemba even when he knew that they dont speak bemba. when it comes to kk he wud try to speak the language of the local pipo and it made they feel that they a part of the country when their leader spoke their language.but a leader speaks a language which is not theirs in their land it makes them feel not part of the leader.i never and i have never heard chiluba say one zambia one nation.

  255. Who has/had more relatives in cabinet between chiluba and Levy???

    Who is more tribal??

A Tonga will never rule Zambia, period!! Not in our life time, not even in God`s time

  256. I currently feel a profound desire to replenish the propellant of my motorized vehicle. Therefore, I cordially request you to transfer, from your subterranean reservoir, a sufficient quantity of the combustible fluid of the highest octane rating to fill the appropriate receptacle of the said means
of perambulation to the brim. (IN short fill my car tank)

  257. #340 cont…that Presidential candidate must have a character which is not a flip-flop.In Tonga we say “capya kooku’ meaning jumping up and down, to and from, because today it is happening this side you are the here and tomorrow it is happening that side you change your initial position to that new side.
The candidate be of sound mind.Issues of questionable character especially lying in public must nowhere heard of for that candidate. A point in case here is where Hon Sata claimed to have been given a one-way ticket to USA from a public lecture when in fact it was a two-way return ticket and the alleged China-man stealling of his passport of UK cameras showed false. No tribalism and racism.

  258. WHEN WE COME TO ZED POLITC IT IS ALWAS BEMBAS AND TONGAS AT EACH OTHERS NECK.FROM 1964-73.KK,KAMPWEPWE HAD CB,NORTHERN,LUAPULA,AND EASTERN.NKUBULA HAD WESTERN,NORTH-WESTERN,SOUTHERN CENTRAL AND PART OF LUSAKA.THE COUNTRY WAS DIVIDED IN 2 PARTS. KK HAD TALKS WITH NKUMBULA AND NKUMBULA AGREED THAT A ONE PARTY STATE SHUD BE ESTABLISHED TO ELEMITE DIVISION IN THE COUNTRY.THAT IS THE TIME WHEN AUTHER WINA COINED ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION.IT MADE US UNITE.I WILL COME AND EXPLAINN THE POLICIES KK HAD PUT IN PLACE TO BRING UNITE IN THE COUNTRY.

  259. THIS IS HOW KK DID IT.KK CONSIDERED HIMSELF AS A BEMBA,HE APPOINTED LOZIS AND TONGAS AS PRIME MINISTERS THEN HE APPOINTED THE EASTERNERS AS THE SG OF UNIP.EVERY FELT PART OF THE GOVT.HE WENT ON FURTHER BY TRANFERRING GOVT WORKER TO PLACES THEY DIDNT COME FROM SO THAT IT BRING ABOUT INTER-MIRRIAGE.KK WAS A MAN.MOST OF THE COPS,SOLDERS WHERE NOT SENT TO PLACES THEY CAME FROM.THUS Y WE HAVE PIPO LIKE THAT FOOTBALLER LIKE NYAMBE MULENGA.EVEN US WE SHUD BE PREACHING UNIT AND NOT DIVISION.LETS NOT CALL PIPO AS TRIBAL OR THOSE PIPO FROM CERTAIN TRIBE CAN BOT RULE.ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION.

  260. #345, thanks very mcuh for your good contributions. This has brought knowledge to the ill-informed and ill-motived people. “One Zambia, one Nation” is the motto. Atweende kulima ciindi camana, basa. We have got about 11 million Zedians to feed and provide good infrastructure, jobs and other things we have seen in better-developed countries than ours at the moment.
We can change our great country and Nation. If we are willing we can do it without a problem. Let us make sure characters with questionable reputations do not make it to Plot 1. This is the only way we will make progress as a Nation – a people ready to face the challenges in this day and age.

  261. Hon. Sata’s flip-flopping:
“We are not urging government to send a team of doctors, there are already doctors attending to the President. Under medical ethics, the doctors who are attending to the President cannot reveal the confidentiality between them and their patient,” he said…Sata said Zambia was not an island, hence it should learn from other countries on how they handled the situations when their heads of state were ill.

  262. Mr hehehehehe or is it mr hihihihihi what time do you produce children when you are always blogging 24/7!!!!!

  263. Just for the record ,a quick reminder to the bloggeres who have no historical facts. Zambia became an independent state because of our fore fathers who worked hand in hand to bring zambia where it is today, and these people included tonga heroes like southerner harry nkumbula, lozis like m sipalo and various politicians from all walks of life and tribes. at the time these people lived and ate at the same table and spoke in english which was the language they could all commune in. nkumbula was highly respected by all northerners worth their political name.however the eduational rivalry in small minds still exist today on which tribe has the most educated people.
    ..ctd

  264. Crisis or no crisis. data has it that Ba Sata’s brain has been couried to France to put in ba Mwine’s head. as we speak, Sata’s head is empty! if fact he is like a headless chicken now.

  265. it does not matter all zambians must and should work together and the so called educated of these bloggs should lead the way in doing that if HH is as inspiring as obama from what i have read then am sure nothing will come in his way not even tribes. The worrying thing is the so called anonymous beings are the ones we normally have drinks with in pubs abd parties and they carry with thenm such bitterness!!
its ok for bembas to speak bemba where they wish just as its ok for lozis or tongas to do the same however, if youre in Cb its only logical that you speak in bemba if you want to get by just like you wont die if you ask were the market is in lozi if youre in mongu, …..

  266. Nkumbula was good nomba amaule(Prostitutes),

He is among the first zambians to have paid for sex, hearts off for him.

Thats waht failed him, hope H.H. is not like nkumbula especially that does not drink beer.

  267. #348-Anonymous, I am on national duties and so there is no time to sleep and relax.
Anyhow, I am a young unmarried man who is still searching for ndule zapa zed. I will be going home for some relaxing time before I proceed with more studies soon, so tuyakubona mbuli zintu mboziya kuba.

Anyhow, thanks for the concern and take care my man/woman, #348.

  268. #337 Good point but at least levy is not a dictator, do u know that when FTJ went to mongo trying to get a 3rd term he spoke bemba to Lozi’s. What do u call that?

  269. If the people of Chinsali can elect one such as #353, then they are finished coz he is one of the most irrational beings on this blogg. I pray to God that my brothers and sister in Chinsali can see through mediocrity and do the honarable for betterment of our land.

  272. Leave the Tongas alone, they are mature and very understanding people. Look at the sacrifice Nkumbula did by allowing Kaunda to be President. He made a bold and humble decision which is not easy to make. Why didn’t Kaunda opt to let Nkumbula rule?? Such a gesture is a sign of leadership and strength. Abatonga nabakusula iwe Chinsali MP, show responsibility young man and leave out the name HH in your contributions

  273. Dont cheat No 363.

Kaunda had to take the driving seat bcoz Nkumbula was a womaniser.

Enroute to London, Nkumbula missed a flight in RSA bcoz of a white lady. Thats what lead to K.K taking over.

If you want to cheat, we shall unleash data which is just on our finger tips.

Nkumbula, ati he allowed K.K out of principle, No, No, osa nama.

I challenge all of you to ask elderly people

  274. #364 iyo tata ndimukalamba naine wine wintuka. I was only trying to reason with you to be a bit more objective and look at people with an open mind. Over your claim about Nkumbula you can believe what you want. But my question to you is, is it true that there are no Bemba womanisers?

  275. People we are all Zambian’s enough of this nonsense, now you know why the zed government doesn’t work it’s because of people like you! The British were very clever people; they knew what there were doing when mapping out our borders!

  276. Northerns are thiefs that causes tribalism, they should also be reported to animal rights group for eating monkeys!.

  277. You can’t even spell thieves…Do you know that monkeys have the highest IQ.Hence Northerns high levels of intelligence

  278. #368.BEMBAS ARE THIEVES BECAUSE THEY EAT MONKEYS. MONKEYS BY NATURE ARE THIEVES AND ARE VERY DISTRACTIVE ANIMALS EVER KNOWN ON PLANET EARTH. HOWEVER ITS OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO HELP THESE BROTHERS AND SISTERS TO REFORM INSTEAD OF CONDEMNING THEM.ITS JUST BECAUSE IN THEIR TRADITION STEALING IS NOT A VERY SERIOUS WRONGDOING.BUT AM SURE THAT IN FUTURE THEY WILL REFORM SINCE PLUNDERERS ARE BEING ARRESTED NOWADAYS AND THAT ZAMBIANS WILL NEVER,NEVER, AND NEVER AGAIN ALLOW A THIEF TO RULE AND RUIN OUR BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY.

  279. IT IS TRUE BA POST THEY JUST HATE HH AND THEIR CANDIDATE SAKI IS NOT DOING WELL.WE KNOW THAT SAKI’S LAW FIRM CENTRAL CHEAMBERS IS THE LAW FIRM WHICH RESPENTS BA POST AND SAKI HAS BEEN THEY LAWER SINCE IN 1990.THEY WANTED THEY FREIND SAKI TO WIN AND THATS WHY THEY WERE BAISED TOWARDS SAKI AND REPORTING NEGATIVELY ABOUT HH.EVEN SAY HH WON COZ HE IS TONGA AND SAKI LOST COZ HE IS NOT TONGA.BA POST THEY KNOM THAT THEY WERE ABOUT 825 AND LESS THAN 94 WERE TONGAS.AND HH GOT OVER 70%.BA POST SHOULD BE FAIR.WHEN THEY WRITE ABOUT HH ITS HH BUT WHEN THEY ARE TAKING ABOUT OTHER PIPO HH IS ALSO ATTACKED.

  280. IF U WANT TO KNOW THE PIPO WITH HIGH IQ AND THE MOST EDUCATED GUYS U JUST GO TO UNZA,NIPA NRDC,CHAINAMA,HONE THEN ASK ABOUT WHO ARE THE MAJORITY IN THOSE INSTITITUTION.HEY THE TONGA CHAPS ARE EDUCATED.THE MOST EDUCARED CHAPS ARE TONGAS

  281. TRIBAL POLITICS IN Patriotic Front (PF) Party, Guy on Hon. Sata.
“If you replace him, which other person can you bring who can make such noise and speak deep Bemba, which villagers can understand? So it’s very difficult but there wouldn’t be a vacuum,” Dr Scott said. “There are people in PF, even people we don’t know who might become presidents. What he said is just one of those things to make people talk and put chimwela morale in the party.”

  282. Sili, probably you are Tonga. Probably very educated, or mostly likely very immature and forgot that you cannot an English sentence in capital letters.

  283. #22, If you want to know about HH, and how he amased the much talked about wealth, ask Sakwiba Sikota, he has all the details. He should be the right person to report to the ACC.
