Mweene Saves The Day for Stuttering Zambia

Share

Zambia conjured what is now a traditional out-of-jail performance by once mighty Chipolopolo after squeezing into the semifinals of this years Cosafa Senior Challenge Cup via post-match penalties to eliminate Zimbabwe 5-4 on Saturday in Secunda, South Africa.

Hero on Saturday for Zambia was goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene whose cheeky rolled in final penalty secured their passage to a semifinal rendezvous with defending Cosafa Cup champions South Africa at Thulamashe.

Mweene’s penalty came as a mighty relief after Elijah Tana also cost Zambia with near-miss with the first spot kick but luckily for him Highlanders and Zimbabwe goalkeeper Washington Arubi fumbled with the ball before it bounced to cross the line.

The Free State Stars goalkeeper’s reputation as the safest pair of hands in Zambia were earlier enhanced during the penalty shootout when he saved Zimbabwe’s third spotkick attempt from Highlanders red-hot striker Cuthbert Malajila.

Overall Zambia failed to spark with coach Herve Renard using all four of the strikers; Emmanuel Mayuka, Roger Kola, Felix Sunzu and Francis Kombe, whom he has taken to rural Mpumalanga only to fire blanks inappropriately so in this coal mining region.

“Am not satisfied with this game and the only good thing is we have got to the semifinals,” a visibly relieved Renard told SuperSport TV at the end of the match.

Meanwhile, Tana made an impressive return after 7 months in the wilderness despite his near-miss although he lost the battle of ages with Malajila on 83 minutes when the Highlanders striker stole the ball from him in the box but found Mweene too alert to the challenge.

And Zimbabwe will also feel a wee bit hard done by when a seemingly clear 79th minute goal from midfielder Charles Chiutsa of Monomotapa was mysteriously ruled for off side.

Tana also threatened from set pieces with his free kicks and aerial abilities and Renard will be hoping for an improved showing from the Zambia captain on Wednesday against South Africa.

However, Clive Hachilensa had a torrid afternoon at right and his position and future in the team under Renard is in serious doubt.

Zambia now shift camp to one of the most remote artificial pitch venues in Africa in rural Thulamashe, a stadium Mayuka, Judge Mkandawire and Henry Banda are very familiar with that location after playing there last December in the Cosafa Under-20 Championships.

  1. Let us wait and see where Renard is taking our team. I reall doubt this guy. Anyway let us give him chance to finish all the qualifying matches and then we judge his capabilit to coarch a national team. Guys is it true that collins is with sundowns now?

  2. Mwapusukeni ba zed. 4 games and only 1 goal from the penalty spot, am gettin very very worried with our strike force. We need an urgent solution to this problem!

  3. well done boys.Renard think, study and plot Safrica’s downfall. It can be done,we have done it before and we can do it again

  4. #9 ubukula means you cant even squeeze through, even dangerously.we are ok but we need resources that match Safrica for us to call for championships within the region. This is so far what we deserve as we have no national stadium,no local or internationally recognised coach. So given the circumstances- well done boys

  5. Luckily for us, South Africa are featuring a “developmental team”. Renard, you have a lot of work to do. All the best Chipolopolo.

  6. 4 example how could he play Henry Banda in central midfield wen the boy is a winger? Banda has hardly seen any game tym at Zanàco. No wònder they say if u pay peanuts u get monkeys! We r watching, any more out-of-jail performance… Wapya we shall crack the whip!

  7. FAZ you must be ashamed of your choices.this renard guy is fake,he is jut sucking de money he does not deserve.phiri was by far much better.how come the same team under phiri was playing better ,under renard its all disappointing.zambians wake up and talk out

  8. The only good factor is that only Togo has scored against us in open play. It looks like the defence and goal keeping depts have been sorted or nearly sorted out. My only fear is that if we conceed first then we shall have a problem. BUT what happened to the u-23 team that beat Swaziland and Botswana but several goals? Who were the strikers who scored and where are they?

  9. The team is not in the class of other great footballers we have had before so please do not blame the coach.

  10. Guys its the coarch to blame with the way he select the players, and his style of coarching he cant even stand up and give instructions. me, i started a long time condeming hing him.

  11. Lets advocate spending money on people who cannot afford drugs in hospitals than these chaps. We need to take at least two years to restruture the local league and youth soccer! I am scared going to WC with this caliber of players will be an embarasment. Cricket scores easy.

  12. #3(Aisha say) YES that futike boy collins is with sundowns now!
This coach is not bad the boyz should die a little for mother Zed not kulalyafye ubwali alaaaaaaa!
anyway, so far so gud. we need all these young boyz for da future not that TANA shaaaaaaaa

  14. Mamelodi Sundowns have emerged as strong contenders to sign former Kaizer Chiefs striker Collins Mbesuma after the Zambian striker was spotted at Chloorkop this morning.

Mbesuma was with Sundowns’ new signings, who were going through their paces under the watchful eye of assistant coach Simon Ngomane this morning.

ProSport International director Mike Makaab confirmed to KickOff.com that Mbesuma was at Sundowns.

“We have had preliminary discussions with Sundowns, but are still waiting for Ted Dumitru to return from Egypt where he has gone with the team for their CAF Confederations Cup assignment,” Makaab said. KICKOFF.COM

  15. This Renard guy was the physical trainer with Ghana, this is his first crack at serious coaching. We are not serious and deserve these results!

  16. u idoits dont blame the coach, thats the problem of you zambians whenever there is a foreign coach u expect miracles, this guy only advices the players how to kick the ball its up to them to score,at the moment zambia has useless players, the team wont even qualify to africa cup cos i dont see zambia beating togo at thier home after striggling to beat zimbabwe, the GRZ should just concetrate on other sports like boxing

  17. u *****s dont blame the coach, thats the problem of you zambians whenever there is a foreign coach u expect miracles, this guy only advices the players how to kick the ball its up to them to score,at the moment zambia has useless players, the team wont even qualify to africa cup cos i dont see zambia beating togo at thier home after straggling to beat zimbabwe, the GRZ should just concetrate on other sports like boxing

  18. That is the problem with chaps who clean other pipo’s asses in England …wanting 2 insult bloggers 4 nothing!

  19. Its not right to blame the coach, obviously you don not expect him to score,he tried everything within his means using all 4 strikers available imwe! That Rodger Kola chap should know that his playing football and not wrestling.

Zimbabwe also made life diffcult for us as they didnt play an open game (they only played fast counter attacks). They concentrated on defending making it had for our strikers. In my opinion the coach advised the defenders to avoid man making system so that they could potentially play as attackers, now the major weakness of this was loose marking which almost cost us a goal.

  20. I watched the game and I shud say that I was not impressed with the frontline. Kola and Mayuka are good players but they need a lot more experience. I shud say that against Togo we need a strong front line with experienced players of Katongo’s calibre. I hope Sundowns signs Mbesuma who is training with them so he can regain his fitness. We still need that guy upfront to partner Katongo. I followed the game with keen interest and I must say the Mayukas, Kolas, Sunzus are still raw, but I am not taking away anything from them. They are good for the future.

  21. Bo Nyambe, cleaning toilets n old person’s vomit is much better in B’ham than critising a coach who has not done any better than Patrick Phiri so far hey?

  22. Bo Nyambe, cleaning toilets n old person’s vomit is much better in B’ham than critising a physical trainer who has not done any better than Patrick Phiri so far hey?

  23. Our performance in the Zambia / Zimbabwe game was poor.We had defence and and mid field strikers were off duty, dozzing heavly and waiting for game to end.We needed two seasoned and aggressive strikers to blend with the new boys.I can’t see these young boys (strikers)breaking the defence for Togo.Something should be done after this COSAFA games.Harry Milanzi could’ve led the attacks and make the new boys rise to the occasion. The guy has been scoring goals there in Angola coaches are advised not to be personal when dealing with national issues such as football its taxpayers money. We have alot of players all over.

  24. #39 You are right. A lot has been said about the new boys but I believe they need time to grow. And I believe COSAFA is a good platiform. Now we know what they can do. But against Togo we need seasoned players.

  25. We are not condemining the coach we saying the truth. Renard is not a coach he is a physical trainer mwebantu twapapata. I also watched the game defence, midlfield and striking force horrible even that goal Zimbabwe scored its an off side aumfwile fye uluse referee. Lets recall Mbesuma, Harry Milanzi, Bakala and if possible Sichone if he is in a good shape twapapata ba Lwandamina landeni no musungu wenu. Naleka nine Na K

  26. The road is very rough 4 our nation team, looking at the the perfomance,it’s very unfortunate that these chaps can’t find the back of the net in 4 games under renard except penalties.4 REAL HOW DO U EXPECT 2 WIN without scoring goes.any way heaven knows.

  27. There is just no way we can only score on goal out of all the games we have played so far. Come on coach swallow your pride call Mbesuma the boy is gud chancer we need him at all cost. yes we know you want to build a new team, but the boys are fresh they need to be matured. If the Mbesuma as been in camp I think he should have regained his fitness.

  28. I watched SA play Namibia. They played a good game. Zambia didnt play well yesterday and Kalusha said they had used unexperienced players..if we continue experimenting in the field of play then we are not going anywhere. He said Zed had used young players like Mayuka and Kola who are under 20…he mentioned the come back of Tana. Surely are going to beat Togo? Namibia Coach openly said he was watching Zambia Zimbabwe game coz he wanted to see the way Zimbos plays as a prep for qualifiers. those that watched the game did you see Tana? iam sorry i didnt see him. let us wait and see what wednesday has for us.

  29. To be quiet honest Zambia did no play well neither did Zimbabwe play any better.1st half i would give it to Zambia & 2nd half to Zimbabwe.Though Zim created better scoring chances, had a clear goal disallowed & hit the up right from a freekick.K.Mweene didn’t have much to do in the game.He was only busy during penalties where he did well as usual.Defense C.Hachilensa had a bad game like LT says most of the Zim attacks came from his wing .They found it easy to penetrate that wing.Tana maybe Zed best player of the day.He showed good leadership & was good on on set pieces. The only problem i saw the man was lacking on pace.If he was marking a fast player like Chris.K he would had a tough time.

  30. F.Kasonde not so impressive in defense though he used his height well. Simwanza & H.Banda tried in the midfield though they got tired in the 2nd half.J.Mkandawire may be a good player but the guy did not whip a good cross for the strikers the entire game he lacks experience.R.Kolala had two scoring chances but the boy cant shoot yah! Mayuka also could curve a chance for himself the whole game.May be as the say,”a Striker is a good as the service that he gets”.Mayuka was not serviced.Though both Kolala & Mayuka have played in all Reinard’s games non has found the back of the net.
If i was Reinard i would try & give F.Sunzu a start see what he can do.Like Billy says the two boys are still Raw.

  31. thanks for a good run down of the game Sibs. I sure the boys will be looking to improve on this performance come the next game. It’s still experimental like all the Cosafa teams, let’s be patient, Yah the boys found a way to win.

  32. Zed did not play so well, so did zimbabwe.

The idea of starting with Kola and mayuka was not good, Mayuka/Kombe is better combination in my opinion.

Hachilensa failed to rise to the occasion, chinyama was eqaully a shadow of himself.

Tana-not the tana of yesteryears but accounted for himself well.

    Mweene-thumbs up 2 u, twalumba!!!!!!

The team needs to improve more so that they will be playing the hosts-south africa on wed.

    Good luck Zambia!!!!!!

  33. Zambia used a local team except for K.Mweene.Is that the best we could come up with if yes then we have a lot of work to do.I for one i can’t blame the coach cos thats the material he found.Any way lets see how the boys play on wednesday in the semi-final.Most people are forgetting that P.P won the COSAFA with the likes of R.Kalaba,Chris & F.Katongo in the team.Guys like Mbesuma at his best played in the other preliminary games before the final.
I feel it is too early to judge the coach. The boys were the ones playing the should put the ball in the net not the coach.Unless the coach left good players back home(apart from Mudenda) then we can blame him.

  34. Good analysis. I watched the second half too. Tow players were outstanding for Zambia, Tana and Mweene. Though Tana lacked speed as someone has indicated, but with time he will regain his fitness and his aerial prowess is good. I did not like Hachilensa, most of the Zimbabwe moves were coming fromm his side. He must leave the tam. Remember he cost us the game agianst Cameroun and that school boy defending is still in him.

  35. Point of correction on #47. Kolala scored in the friendly against Iran.Though he has a lot of work to do in terms of his finishing.

  36. Did you watch Botswana/Mozambique? The Swanas played better than us. The question is why is he changing players like clothes? Landeniko na Renard ba FAZ please

  37. give al the time he needs to finish us with his experimental team and thoughts. This is no way forward fro Zedian football.

  38. hey!well done”chipolopolo”
Renard you have done a gud job to bring Tana back on the pitch,I really love that guy.
come on mweene, well done, continue with the same skiles and I have been praying that,1day you find yoself playing ku Arsenal.

GO GO CHIPOLOPOLO BOYZ…….here we come SA SA SA!

  39. well i agree with Sibs i do not blame the coach as well. we need to give him support. his seat is very hot and some coolant from us supporters will do him good. which team do we use in the CHAN qualifiers?
#53 Bots played better than Zambia yes…pity they were axed.
    Chips welcome back long time………

  40. Mweene and Tana were good, but Mweene was much better. Kola tried but he doesnt know how to shoot the ball. But anyway COSAFA is a good platform to test these players. But my concern is against Togo particularly upfront. Our srtiking force has failed to score a decent goal for the last four games apart from the penalty Katongo scored against Isihlangu. This is very worrying. I cant blame Renard as this is the best team we have locally. But I believe that the coach shud have a look at other players abroad who can add value to the team. There are so many Zambian players abroad at least one or two can be found.

  41. I dont when Zambia will be a true football team. The kind footbal displayed yesterday was shambolic. Katwish nga ni lack of talent olo bupuba fye.

  42. At the end of the day a win was recorded. The plain truth is that the Coach can only do with the material at hand. Unfortunately the local league seems to have stopped producing players of quality like Gibby Mbasela, Jack Chanda, Fanny Hangunyu of yester years. I have deliberately not mentioned our former playing machines such as Kalu, Charlie, Wis for Wisdom Chansa etc. Any coach could shine with such wealth of local and international talent, which UNFORTUNATELY Renard does not have both locally and foreign. We need to be patient enough.

  43. The team definitely needs to improve. With all due respect however the pitch was a shambles and i know Zed is only used to playing ball “on the floor” like the Coach said. I still feel PP could have done a better job however…this RH guy is starting to give me the jitters…whew…mwapusukeni ba Zed!

  44. Is it true that Kalaba has been loaned to a 2nd Division. Quite worrying….will our players ever make it in competitive leagues in Europe

  45. Its never too early to tell when someone has a vision…..At least they can show you which path they are haeding,Renard hasn’t shown that…..Al he has shown as far as I am concerned is the kind of “Job-On-Training” if there is such kind of English

  46. Bane coaching is a pressure job u need 2 show wat yr strategy is. At the moment Renard has NONE! The game against Zimbos showd the lack of structure and inconsistency exhibitd in the earlier 3. The midfield has been non-existent. Those of u who ve followed Zed under Renard may ve noticd we r using long balls. U cant score goals with such an akward systems. The strikers are starved of balls no wonder Kola(nb not Kolala) had 2 drop into midfield to look 4 balls. The same happend 2 Chris Katongo in the previous 3 games and he ended up looking lost. So let this coach show us he is more than a physical trainer than shuffling players in unusual positions they ve neva playd b4 like Banda . Beat SA developmental side convincingly or else my patience with Renard is running bcoz he has no Credentials and our performance is pathetic so far under his reign. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE FROM BEATING EGYPT AT AFCON TO FAILING TO CREATE CHANCES AND SCORE AGAINST MEDIOCRE OPPOSITION! PLEASD BA ZED WE DEMAND BETTER …

  47. #67 what are you talking about? HARRY MILANZI? ha ha ha you should be the worst commenter on this blog, if you aint got any idea about zed football, its better you don’t comment. Milanzi was Milanzi when he was playing for “Manjanja” 97-99 season, as at now it’s time for young guys to prove themselves.

  48. So far so bad.from the time renard took over zambia has never scored in openplay.Okay he realises we need to do more about getting. And they just played unfortunately from the look of things he hasn’t done anything about the identiied problem(lack of goals).I think he too does not know what to do about it.kalusha could train the boys to score but went on the pitch himself to score (not good).Lack of goals is not just the problem of strikers, Barenard, kubombelachapamo-look at the build up & how the strikers are getting the passes.I think at this level renard can not be complaining about the same problem after 3 games-he can’t get them to score after 3 games? And we still giving him a chance.

  49. continued #72
Bakalu please realise early enough and swallow your pride this man was a mistake from the start.Phiri was far much better.Next he is going to tell us the same thing Burkard scarcistically said to us that he wasn’t the one who scores and could not get on the pitch to score goals for them.the lads have the talent we’ve seen mayuka score many times. This PE teacher can neither realise nor tell what is wrong.

  50. But Ba Phiri nabafuluka. Zambian soccer bali ikatilapo. Chashupilefye ku Ghana AFCON 2008. Ni defence yatwipaishe fye. Otherwise that team was good.

  51. bring back patrick phiri, mbesuma…….to hell with the physical trainer he cant read the Zambian game.ba kalu dont experiment with the national team.

  52. #72 KellyMicheal. I agree with you entirely my bro. I dont see Renard inspiring the lads anymore than he has done so far, and as at now, the quality of the game displayed against Zimbabwe leaves so much to be desired……looks likes we had a far much better side with Phiri. I know others may say we give Renard more time, but in my opinion, I think what he has shown to us so far is his best, and I fear our country may become just a training ground for coaches who have less experience.

  53. Wow looks like soccer bloggers are back. Anyway, this PE coach is making PP look like a star, Just like FTJ made KK look like a great leader. Why can’t this PE teacher get our boys to score. PP made them put 3 goals past SA, 3 past Sudan, 1 past Egypt, 1 past Cameroon. Even Kaumba put 3 past Swazi, with the same material this PE teacher has. Anyway the jury is still out for me on this french PE teacher. And I doubt he has much time to experiment. Zambians fans have been starved for too long and PP was doing just fine to take us to the promised land..looks like we have just been taken back again into the wilderness.

  54. For sure. I think this guy has just taken us back. He doesnt seem to know what he is doing. How come the squad is not scoring goals now. Against Togo, Swazi (home and away forget the penalty, now against Zim, we cant score. I am now beginning to doubt his capabilities.

  55. The two Tongas, Mweene and Sinzu saved Zambia. All the Bembas boys were just passengers in that game. Viva! Ng’ombe ileende!!

  56. No 79, dont bring tribal issues in the game of football.

    Did Hachilensa play well?

If Nketani-a tonga bull had not played at Ghana 2006-we would have gone far, should we say zambia lost or a tonga man made zambia lose?

Dont bring tribalism in football more so that tongas makula.

Kalu, Chitalu,Charles Musonda,Kelvin mutale, jacob mulenga, eston mulenga, mwitwa, johnstone, etc are bembas. Mention great tonga footballers also

Fact-when Zambia used to feature Bembas and easterners-we were doing so well. the moment we brought in these funny tribes, it has been disastrous……

  57. Renard is a physical instructor and not a football coach. but then i wouldn’t blame the guy as he is only earning a living like us all. The pipo who hired him are to blame, kalu in particular, and the sooner this guy goes the better.

  58. For how long is renard going to complain about the teams inability to score goes from open play? The fact that he is even complaining is failure on his part because by now he should have found the solution to the apparent problem.
I say apparent because these are the same players who were able to score under coach PP and now someone from france on KCM payroll comes to tell us that they can’t score.

  59. Let the TONGA BUSHMAN KEEP QUIET ITS FOOLS LIKE HIM THAT EMBARASS US TONGAZ! ZWA SUNTWE EBO! PLIZ BLOGGERS NDAKOMBA IGNORE THE LUNATIC..

  60. Guys i think the guy who made tribal comments # 79 is not even Tonga, he is just trying to get bloggers to hate Tongas and trivialise a serious forum on our football to petty tribal hatred. The football has nothing to do with being Tonga or whatever. Lets ignore such chaps and not respond to injure other well meaning Tongas on the forum. I love Mother Zambia and i love you all Viva Chipolopolo!!!!

  61. #86 i totally agree with you Habwatu. This guy most likely has a serious grudge against tongas and so he will take every opportunity to have them criticised even where its not necessary. I even wonder how the tribal topic should be brought in the football? #81, My appeal to you and other bloggers is please lets scrutinise some of these comments carefully before we start unleashing unprintables to the innocent people in the name of tribes.
Lets talk football, and ignore tribal arguments!

  62. We are all Zambians guys. Lets not intertain this demon called tribalism. Do not forget what happened in Rwanda and or Burundi.
Lets all speak the language of soccer. One Zambia., One tribe.

  63. My advice to all serious well meaning bloggers is to ignore those fond of posting comments on tribal lines. Let us embrace the One Zambia, One Nation that KK preached. The comflicts afflicting countries like Rwanda, suddan and other troubled nations are all a result of tribalism.

  64. Habwaatu #86 Good that you read this twit’s stupid intentions. He tribalises every issue on the blog. I think he grew up in some remote village with three neighbours only and doesnt know our cosmopolitan intergration. While we have all moved on, he lives a lonely life in the past and so he wants all of us to join him. No ways Viva Kennedy Mweene! Viva Chipolopolo! Viva One Zambia One Nation!

  65. Anyway getting back to the soccer our team looked physically unfit. In the second half they visibly tired and the defenders were at the mercy of the fast running Zim forwards. Do something about physical fitness coach. They should also feed these boys well so that they can have some physique. Also, the kicking of high balls and long passes when the players have no ball control is not strategic. Please coach one goal in four matches is terrible. Its just like last weekend’s local fixtures were teams couldn’t score five goals come on where is Bernard Chanda’s spirit? Where’s Kelvin Mutale’s spirit where’s Ucar’s spirit? Wake up boys!

  66. That tribal chap reminds me of one political party where they said only a Tonga can succeed that great man we all respectd. Now we ve Hakaivotela Heka (HH) because of backward people like our Mazabuka blogger! So sad. Well back to business lets wait for Wed and see if we shall improve other wise we shall be baying for blood . England gave all the time to one Steve McLaren even when it was clear he was not advancing the three lions. THE RESULT? ENGLAND MISSED EURO 2008! Meanwhile, one Zambia, one nation. GOD BLESS THE REPUBLIC OF ZAMBIA including the unbridled tribalists!

  67. The coach is to blame. He is supposed to teach the boys the aspects of scoring , shooting etc. Run drills to that effect and generall striking skills. If not what do we need him for ? just to select players and speak English?

At least we beat Billionaiers !!!!

  68. Pipo remember Zim is not a pushover. They have won the tourney three times as well. They have had better players lately, playing in proper teams abroad unlike us. The fact that we beat them on pernalties should not discourage us. Most of all lets look at our league structures. We have no team left in the African competitions after round 1, even at club level we have no strickers. Basic football like shooting at goal is tought at club level not a national team level. Unless we are saying there are players the coach left out whom he should have selected then we can’t blame him for failing to score. Maybe lets blame him on the tacics used on the field of play eg long balls.

  69. #97 there is no such thing as a push over team in modern football.the coach needs to do some thing about the poor performance we are displaying in the past games

  70. Nga ni Kalusha aleke no kulandapo. After atu gon’ga coach he starts saying we used a lot of unexperienced players. Thats what you expect from a very very unexperienced coach. Thats what is feasical for him and thats what he can handle. We are already out of the tourney and beating Togo is out of question if we continue using the unripe material. We need experienced players.
My ideal players: Mweene Tana Sichone Sinkala Bakala Felix Chris Jacob na bambi akakosako but these are experienced please include them twapapata…

  71. Yes, i agree with #79 that had it not been for Mweene’s individual efforts Zambia would have been nowhere. Tongas are now becoming great footballers. Watch out you some tribes in Zambia for Tongas will soon produce world class footballers

  72. The type of football that you will always see @ nat’l tim level is directly proportional to the quality of the futbal you will see at club level. what type of futball do we see at club level, to begin with? garbage in garbage out!If a player can’t score in a local league do you see him scoring in an int’l game? Today’s strikers need two seasons to score the number of goals that overlapping defenders like Kapambwe Mulenga used to score in one season.

Further to that, let us be reminded that there is no such thing as a bad soldier: only bad generals. What football(and all other sports disciplines except boxing) is lacking is QUALITY LEADERSHIP.no quality leadership no quality futball

  73. it’s high time the government redirected its resources to sports disciplines which bring honour to the nation not heart breaks.Imagine if the monies spent on futball were spent on swimming, boxing and chess!1

  74. Below are views of Sundowns Coach about Mbesuma:

Moloto was also frank about overweight striker Collins Mbesuma and 2004/05 PSL Player of the Season who is training with the squad. The former Chiefs and Zambian star has not been signed by Moloto.Said the Downs coach: “Mbesuma is training with us at present. I want to address his fitness level. He is under a special programme. But I have not made a decision on whether to sign him or not. Of concern is the fact he struggled in Europe and is not a regular for Zambia. But we will wait and see. I am not in a big hurry.”

  75. ba zed, always polomia when they play, always mathematical….when this team is beaten then we are ok or abc beats abc then we are fine,ma labishi, die a little for the country and do us proud like those days 1994 finals, lyonse tingo dwala ngati muteya ah!

  76. #33 u must be mad, dont think all zambians in england do odd jobs like cleaning, nyambe is a professional electrician working for an international firm and has better quallification than your forged diploma from matero university,

  77. yes am in support of tongas,we are sick and tired of these thieves called bembas who claim to know eveything yet they are just useless bustards, keep it up mweene, hachilense, etc
