Levy died a sad man- Maureen

Share

First Lady Maureen Mwanawasa has said the last two months have brought anguish and pain to her soul.
Mrs. Mwanawasa said the period during the sickness and consequent death of her husband has been difficult and full of pain.

In a message read on her behalf by her Senior Private Secretary, Florence Chawela, Mrs. Mwanawasa sadly said the burden without her husband will not be easy.

“This day is your 60th birthday and our 20th marriage anniversary. We had agreed on a big combined celebration. Now this month, which was meant for celebrations, is a death and mourning month. Celebrations will have to wait until we meet again,” lamented Mrs. Mwanawasa.

She described her late husband as an agent of unity, good governance and an ambassador of true leadership.

“You were a visionary leader. You believed in equality under the law. Bold in justice and I will treasure the years we practiced law together,” said Mrs. Mwanawasa.

She said her late husband believed in working hard for Zambia and died in the battle front.

“You died a sad man ,though, because no one believed you,” she said.

And Foreign Affairs Minister, Kabinga Pande, broke into tears as he read the last paragraph of the obituary for the late Dr. Mwanawasa.

Mr. Pande could not hold his pain as he read: “You laid your own ground of good work. We will do well to build on his foundation.”

Mr. Pande, who earlier in the obituary outlined the many development programmes and achievements during Dr Mwanawasa’s, term said his commitment to the improvement of agriculture in the country is evident.

“He turned the Zambian economy from doldrums to prosperity. He died on duty while fulfilling his ideals of democracy and integration which he believed in,” said Mr. Pande.

  1. Levy s passing away can be used to make Zambia a prospeorous nation, everything is in our hands and with God s help we can do it.No one can stop us.we stopped dictatorship, colonialism, third term and now its time to stop failure and poverty-continuing the legacy while cracking down on the family tree.Ours shall be a government of laws and not of men

  2. Ba maureen.its really been a difficult time of your life. 2 months of great pain. will surely keep you in my prayers. we ve lost a loving father of zambia MHSRIP

  3. Let us stop handing our country to foreigners and do something sensible for ourselves. The problem is we think we are not good enough, Guys we can do it with the right leadership. May Levy’s soul rest in peace and may God guide us and give us better judgement as we choose a new president.

  4. Sad moment indeed. LPM, May Your Soul Rest In Peace. You did your part, you made your sacrifices which took you to that grave. You had your own weak points, like any other human being. But you did your part, you touched many lives, you brought sanity and integrity to governance, you turned our economy around. Sad that you are gone. We are yet to see though what the scroungers, are up to. In your death, they see opportunity to steal and to ruin the very economy you single handedly built. From their behaviour in the short time you have been gone, it is very clear that whatever improvements we saw in the economy where the result of your efforts alone, not them. Rest in peace Levy.

Make sure you have itunes on your pc then you can access it thru coppernet winamp sometimes gives problems

It is true he died a sad man to think of the many times he almost would have quite because we never appriciated his work.
My the GOOD LORD KEEP YOU SAFE rest in peace our dear president

  6. If you surround yourself with greedy and vultures like Mulongoti, you will definately die a sad man.I agree that the late lpm could not have achieved as much as he could have wanted to but because the he let himself be surrounded by evil and bootlickers.Mulongoti once told us how close he was with chiluba but after he was dropped as deputy minister loyalty changed he became anti third term ,banda be careful your age might might withstand these guyz chitala, mwanga, mulongoti.Mwanawansa had no team ,lets now look for a political team with a good captain. The late was a good captain but he had no team

  7. Good msg from the 1st Lady. My strong appeal, now that the galant leader is put to rest, please stay away from politics and/or issuing related statements. LPM MYSRIELP!

  8. saw the funeral on tv. sad tho. let the fights now begin. Sad man yes coz you forced him to stick to it and did not help him. poor man. RIP Levy tho i didint really like you. watch out for the post.

  9. Maureen we grieve with u. But the Zambian people do not owe you loyalty. The POST your boys think what levy said is the GOSPEL . Shame on the. Even if he had an opinion,he is not god that he cannot lie. He has no infuence coz he is mortal. If RB has betrayed levy, then he has done what Levy did to FJT.Stop the hatred POST. And dont use scriptures wrongly. BA NKUSA!

  10. What is this hatred on this blog about the POST. I think some of you are overdoing it. Is this a jealousy issue about how successful they are continue to be?

  11. The Editorial comment by the Post today is grossly unfair on RB and literary speaking Stinks. On the day when the Late President is being put to rest, they choose to use hate and quote from the bible to make RB look as if indeed he is Julius Iscariot. Be reminded that all promises made of what was going to be normally changes when the leadership changes for whatever reason. In the Corporate World, one would have been promised a particular position by the boss but as soon as he/she is moved to another role and a new boss comes in everything may change and that role you were looking forward to take on becomes a thing of the past. What is the Post afraid of?

  12. Fred Membe can print as much junk as he likes, but Rupiah Banda is going to plot 1, as Sexy M put it,

he better not start battles he can’t win,

he’s surely deluded with his self importance, all things do come to end Fred, please be wise

  13. Indeed I feel so sorry for maureen. No woman is zambia has had to see her husbands dead body for such an extended period of time.it must be torture. The media has been so hostile towards this poor woman and putting words in her mouth. Why should people now doubt that Levy died a sad man if his wife said so. She was with him in his moments of weakness and saw what he as going thru. Its so sad that people show sooo much appreciation when someone dies but when they are alive take them for granted.I hope we will learn to appreciate the people in our spheres of influence while they still have a beating heart.

  14. Yes he died a sad man because you were taking off your clothes for Darlington Mwape. I really don’t think that he was sad because we did not want to believe him. This is politics and it is not for the faint hearted. He should have known if politics was right for him when he was awoken from sleep by FTJ.

The POST is really going to create anarchy in Zambia. It’s editorial comment reaks of insolence, disrespect, stupidity, hatred,down-right low class, and clear patriotism to a legacy they are trying to promote.I have no beef with them passing opinions, but the language needs to be toned down.We cannot submit to this stupidity. They want to behave as though they are saints who have never done wrong

  15. I honestly dont care what the post have said about RB but he is not a good successor of LPM’s.Frankly, we need someone a lot higher than LPM in education, thinking, integrity, morals, principles, age(younger),developmental ideas and leadership qualities.Sure RB doesnt even score one of them. This has been LPM’s biggest failure lets face it.He failed to groom a successor or even to put as his deuty someone who could takeover the country should he become incapacitated or dead.Surely, he behaved like that fool Jesus talked about who was busy planning for tomorrow when God intended to take him the following day.LPM should have known that he was not immortal. Surely, he has done us a diservice and

  16. It is only after buring someone that it sinks in they are really gone and those tears start coming down Mwelesa twafweni Ninshi twachita fwebana benu??

  17. Ba Maureen please don’t complicate things. If Levy died a sad man then what type of death do so many Zambians go through. Some people don’t even have food on their plates. Being a President is a duty to the mass and people vie for that post because they want to be powerful. Look at Mugabe, still doesn’t want to leave that post. If indeed one is a sad person, well there are so many avenues to follow. It’s either you resign and tell the people as to why. Levy for the last 7 years didn’t utter any word of sadness. If anything he was so happy a person having achieved what others failed so please don’t start manufacturing lies. RIP LEVY

  18. cont…from #34 on second thoughts I feel his failure is bigger than his achievements. He has failed to safeguard what he tirelessly worked for.In 60 days or so the country could be going down the cliff should we put wrong and selfish chaps in office. This is an extremely delicate moment and as Zambians we should unite and put all artificial borders behind. If it means putting a Zambian of Asian origin in office who has the qualities, abilities, vision etc to propel the country to higher heights lets do so.We have a great lesson to learn from the Democrats in USA who have accepted Obama a half “Kenyan” as presidential candiadate and from Botswana where the incumbent is a half British by descent.

  19. Post Editorial comment for today. Which betroyal is greater, the Chiluba-Mwanawasa or the Mwanawasa-Rupiah. Both men were picked from nowhere. The post is indeed up to causing arnachy in the country.

    To LPM MYSRIP.

  20. If levy had 1min to listern to the gud things being sayed am sure he wil concider them a mokery. In 7yrs all u did was critsise.in 2006 u voted him out it had to take tricks of JV .”u never know the use of a gud thing until you have lost it”

  21. The Post newspaper has changed from an independent paper to a magande dependent paper, who says what LPM said was always right, how many people have rejected LPM during elections, and remember Zambia is not a mornarchy, and what are you saying about the people who are nominating RB in the districts

  22. We suspect that Maureen’s alluding to the late LPM-SC sadness is designed to a garner a sympathetic response from the public which she hopes will be translated into a sympathy vote come November for the MMD.

She should have informed the nation of his sadness when he was alive ,when it was still possible for him to be helped.

  23. Please LT post some picture of the happenings on your site. Am out of the country and that is the only way i can keep memories.

  24. # 34 Einstein Good comment mwaiche wandi. LPM surely should have known that he wasn’t immortal!!!

And for ba Maureen, YES LPM could have died a sad man because of so much pain that she caused him starting from the death of LPMs mother in a mini-bus inferno, the affairs with this so called Darlington e.t.c.

However, let LPMs soul rest in peace bacause ACHULA PAFULA!!!

  25. Robert Mugabe should not have been at the funeral or said something good about Levy. When you say something as evil as he did when Levy was in a coma, words of praise after that do not carry weight. If it were up to me I would have barred him from coming -at least initially – to register Zambia’s displeasure. That is why ma Zambians bana ti doba!

  26. Papa J dont just open your mouth like tetamashimba and mulongoti, wat success are u taking about? wat does success mean? as we speak post workers are paid on the 40th of every month and have just shown us that they are impartial

  27. Whats happening to this “great” once upon a time post newspaper? Their editorials of late stink!!! Is it jobs being protected? No wonder ka Fred M’membe is fighting battles with one Dan Pule…Shame ba Post.

Lets now hear tomorrow what they will say in their campaign bid for one dull Magande now that LPM has been buried.

  28. #24
I dont think its the hatred for the post its the hatred for there choice of words at a time we a buring our president with other heads of state in the country who will be welcomed by that same person as acting president totally unacceptable

  29. #40 you are right. The Zambian constitution provides for the president to leave office through resignation.LPM never considered this route for sure nor did he even ever made a attempt. We know KK tried it in in 1968/69.LPM resigned from his veep’s post so surely a STATE COUNCIL would have known that there was recourse to his sadness. However, LPM wanted power and he gave up his JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES(JW) faith because they didnt support indulgency in politics by its members. For me thats when I started doubting LPM’S principles because when he joined them he knew what they didnt support.Cleary,he was just as power hungry as any other politician. No,no,no Ba mama ba Maureen you are lying

  30. #55 Uchipo mwaiche wandi imrprove on the spellings, your comments otherwise make sense sometimes. Why write like one PONYAX with a lot of spelling errors? Its burying and not “buring”. This word has a totally different meaning…

  31. Fred should just mind his own business with his marriage of convenience – he is such a sell out. To think the whole country rallied for the post at one time… He’s betrayed the whole nation. Brother Amos, we all understand where those comments are coming from but please pump some sense into your boss before we ALL start digging into his bismirched life…

  32. #57 These radio streams mwaiche wandi are not connecting. I have tried itunes and even WINAMP as recommended on the Coppernet home page but all in vain. So what do you want to tell the poor mummy since she cant get it?

  33. plz dont put words in her mouth, its true this time the family wanted to well come levy in the family, and death has cut everything.sorry for that……..
Ba madam L.P.M WE PRAY THAT U HAVE COURAGE IN THIS DIFFICUIT TIME.Be strong and courageous thank GOD FOR EVERY THING…

  34. Dear Magande supported the salary increaments for constitutional office holders – a 300% hike if am not mistaken. 300% in a country where more than 80% live below the poverty line…surely?? is that a leader we need? continuity without change?? Every Jim and jack can now come to Zambia in the name of “investment” and piss all over us and its ok – when we complain then – we are being ungrateful. its unfortunate that LPM had to go out like this but quiet frankly I for one will not miss him as much as the Chinese, Indians, Boers and White Zimbabweans will. May he find peace

  35. #60
You might need to restart your internet connection turn hub off from mains then dont play radio stream directly from itunes but instead play it from coppernet site.
Just before you try that if you are navigatign to the site with redio streams on coppernet you will keep getting this problem instead connect directly from the main coppernet page with the radio stations on you left side bottom page.
and ba LT Gen thanx for the correction i will try to keep up.

  36. I am more worried on the nepotistic structures of LPM govermennt. I mean when you have a government full of cousins and aunties, there comes a time when people have to realign themselves. I think the Post are practising heresy when they begin to misquote holy scriptures to sedate the public into thinking we must respect Mwanawasa’s wishes. Let us be clear Zambia is not personal property.

The Post have released scriptural misquotations in industrial quantities to misquide people into accepting Magande. Leadership is given by God, so even ba Rupiah Banda is a present from heaven. The Post is a good paper but sometimes they encouraged unforgiveness may be inadvertently. That era has ended.

  37. The post will finish now. Their writings EB shows panicking and childishness. I remember seeing Amos Malupenga in Nov last in Berlin when the presisent came here. He looked like a Kaponya. No wonder Post is reporting like this now days. The shanty compounds in Lusaka and copperbelt shows Levy failed. Maureen is power hungry like she confused. I do not support RB but with Post behaviour, it will be okay to sort these greedies. If I were RB I would close Post for insuling immediately. Never will an individual or president in Zambia develop Zambia but group of Zambians or simply Zambians.

  38. watched the funeral procession live- very moving-condolences to all zambians on the loss of a great leader- Levy may your soul rest in enternal peace.

  39. My heart goes out to Maureen and the family but the statement of saying sad man i think is uncalled for.If she means sad man in the sense of what he went through leading to his death we would agree. She knows that being in politics let alone head of state you have to be thick skined because criticisms come from all directions, in my view LPM did well in circuming to the negativity.I remember how he used to hit back at Cycle Mata-well MHSRIP .

  40. Now that the great one has been put to rest, we need a new and independent president who will answer the following questions;

1)amount of money spent on sustaining the family tree in embassies and other institutions
2)source of the money kept in secret accounts at Finance bank which are used to finance mmd elections and for which the benificiary is now known
3)amount of money paid to private lawyers for the task force on a monthly basis and value of recoveries from shortie and his tandem.

  41. [email protected]

I as a responsible citizen have written to the post to point out why the editorial for today was detestable and not at all in the best interest of Zambias as a whole so i age all of you to do the same this might be just one way for them to realizing that even reporting has boundaries
    [email protected]

  42. I can tell the Post for them to behave properly otherwise will lose respect for them especially if they are chapioning the causes of Dipak. Dipak should advise the BJP(Baratia Janata Party) and not the MMD, they are adults they know what to do. Ba Rupiah fear not your time has come to rule. God has handed over the leadership, just remember to honor him with your deeds.

  43. #67 Anonymous, spot on.Zambia doesnt belong to one person even if they are president. If anything,LPM has never been the ultimate choice of the voting population for he has never obtained above 50%.Zambia is not a monarchy either where thee would be a lineage. Zambia is a democracy where people freely choose their leaders at all levels.LPM envied FTJ’S technique of handpicking-how sad and sameful. It is heavily piercing to hear that people are busy intoxicating the ZAMBIANS that Levy’s WILL must be respected what an insult to the Zambians and utter nonsense.Only what is written in the zambian constitution will be and should be respected.

  44. #40 Uli shilu. Don’t expose your little understanding of the English language. Read the article again mataba iwe. In the article “Mwanawasa died a sad man” should not be taken literally to sound the way you want it to resonate mambala iwe. It’s an indirect way of saying he was less than pleased that people had little faith in his programs. It appears chi # 40 derives alot of savage satisafaction out of denouncing people who are more important than him. Get a life.

  45. No, former first lady, LPM didnt die a sad man. YOu are the one who has remained a sad person, for all your scheming and utterances.

N0 55, Mugabe has grabbed land from the British to give his people, he has not sold Zimbabwe Airways and University of Zimbabwe is not on recess because of money despite the inflation. Mwanawasa together with Chiluba and Magande have even sold off ZANACO, and if rumours are true, see where ZESCO is going.

  46. # 58 LT GEN from AMCO its improve but not ” imrprove “. Kulibonesha taaa. Wanyela mubunga mwana. PONYAX is always great and what is important here is the message and not the spellings. Shakutuke mwaiche nchili nechili lishi caba LPM and MHSRIP.

  47. people may not agree, but in tough times, it is mature to reconcile. i appreciate mugabe’s presence. thank you for your support zimbabwe.

the post thinks they are so influential! i am not impressed with the editiorial comment on RB. it stinks. what are they upto? natives need to learn to talk appropriately… and please dont quote the Bible to justify nonsense.

  48. today i weep for the first time you are really gone mr president farewell LPM hope you are in heaven.I agree wth maureen he was never appreciated, hope we will learn to appreciate & acknowledge our leaders while they r still alive ZAMBIA this thing of praising people wen they r gone is useless. So far we have been blessed wth Good leaders is what i say & see we’ve never really had it bad we r amongest the very few african peacefull countries.Thank u JESUS.

  49. 1.SATA IS A SICK MAN.ANOTHER HEART ATTACK AWAITS HIM WHEN REAL CAMPAIGNS KICK OFF.TAKE HEED FELLOW BLOGGERS.
2.LET RUPIAH & MAGANDE UNITE FOR THE SAKE OF DEVELOPMENT.WE NEED THESE TWO “QUALIFIED” ECONOMISTS.VIVA RB & MAGANDE,ABASH SATA & GUY SCOTT.
3.SORRY HH CANT JUST BE OUR PRESIDENT,HE IS REGIONAL.BY THE WAY AM MARRIED TO A TONGA,I LOVE HER SO MUCH BUT I MUST ADMIT SHE SHARES THE SAME REGIONALISM AS HH,BUT 4 BETA 4 WORSE I WILL LOVE HER.

  50. How do you expect a person to die a happy man when then corupt chaps he wanted to send into prison like FTJ are still enjoying watching English league at Mandahi.
Besides no one can die with a smile coz we don`t know when Jesus is coming thats if he will ever come back pantu pakokola apo aila.

  51. #77…Its #68 not #67. You are right yes, Ambia isn’t a monarch and therefore choosing ones succesor is out of contest!!!

  52. Can someone paste on this blog the Editorial comment in today’s Post so that we can all see what Meembe is upto this time

  53. Does anyone know whether any of the dignitaries spoke at the burial. Finally, Mrs Mwanawasa looks sorrowful. I now feel sorry for her and the children.

  54. Well put #86
I also once dated a tonga and there is nothing wrong with them but they are regional in terms of thinking at times but agian in politics once you have the power there is always those tuma favours otherwise ati balitulekelesha so whatever party or president the relatives issue is always there

  55. Ba LT this picture you have given us was Maureen smilling or crying. If she was crying then she should continue doing it everytime coz she really looked nice. Nice smile Maureen.

  56. Does anyone know who the unnamed person running for the MMD presidency that Katele has refused to name on the 20hrs radio news is? Could it be Maureen running for the presidency even before the dust in the tomb has settled? Does the shame of this woman have any bounds? The family hasn’t even had a chance to discuss with her traditional funeral issues such as; how her husband died, why she abandonded the funeral home to galavant the country, the widow seriously “eyeing” those coming to mourn her husband, not to mention her “new deal” mourning style of the widow sitting on sofa’s in front of elderly people kneeling before her.

  57. #89, Thats blasphemy now!!! Why not stick to the issues at hand being discussed? And the spelling is “corrupt” not “corupt”. Your english is equally wrong as we dont say “when then corupt chaps he wanted”

  58. I agree #46 it’s like blackmail to say no one believed in Levy’s efforts. He wasn’t an angel he angered many of us by not listening sometimes. You can’t expect people to have liked everything. It’s sad but I hope people will not become sentimental and be moved by emotions. We need to look long and hard by what is happening and see who is positioning themselves for what.I disagree with those who want to guilt trip Zambian people.I personally have never voted for Levy.I’m sad at his passing but I had very strong criticism about his stance at times.Like take the NCC for instance it became a battle of wills between him and the Oasis forum. He was an insecure president. That’s why the party has no vice

  59. Its sad to hear and follow whats happening home on the political ground, its seams so many hungry lions have come out in wanting to succeed LPM, WHERE is democracy? i believe in a democratic country like ours,a leader should and will be chosen by the population of the country, anyone who thinks can lead, let the people decide,we are in this mess today coz of past leadership of leaving succesors,if and only do we choose our leaders democratically we will in future have no problems like this one.REMINDER TO ALL LPM was one handedly chosen by FTJ and if LPM one handedly wanted to leave MAGANDE on chair, thats not a democracy, the people need to choose leaders, not the other way round.

  60. our government should not have allowed Mugabe in whatsoever cicumstances to attend the burial ceremony. As a political statement to all those that treasure and value democracy…Come on guys you should have shown more backbone and not be wishy numby pumby..may be Mugabe came to share some of his old stinking political ideologies to our gullable, passive, greedy, bigheaded, corupt, fatcats policians of ours.

  61. #99 True, Zambia isn’t a monarch but a democratic state. This issue of a succesor is a non-starter!!!

May the best man win the coming presidential bye-elections. I for one, would want to see alot of change in the Zambian politics. MMD shouldn’t be allowed to continue as they are a bunch of HUNGRY LIONS just waiting to finish off the little hard earned resources we have.

  62. Indeed LPM really died a sad man because he never lived to see the fruits of his achievements because the are long term. may anyone who is going to take over continue from where he left and and even do much better. you will never appreciate what you have until you lose it, thats the way it is mama ba maureen.

  63. Bloggers ,its the lack of respect for the rules that we set ourselves that find ourselves talking about succession in a democracy. Its the same lack of respect for our rules that is causing chaos in the MMD and promoting RB as frontrunner for the MMD nomination.

Once we develop an appreciation for the standards we set for ourselves the better off we’ll be.

  64. Of all possible negative human attitudes, the one we hate the most is disloyalty.
And, of all the positive ones, the one we value most is loyalty and firmness of principles. We would say that the one we detest the most is betrayal of principles, and the one we most admire is loyalty to principles.

It is in this light that we judge the decision and actions of Rupiah Banda to succeed President Levy Mwanawasa. Rupiah was picked by Levy from the doldrums. From nothing, Levy nominated Rupiah to become member of parliament and his Vice-President. Rupiah has over the last seventy-one or so years never been a political heavyweight in our country, especially not over the last seventeen years.

  65. I know nobody wants to die or get sick or injured but I don’t understand how baLevy could have died a sad man. The man had an education, mariege(s), children, a career, a business, became president of many things including the nation Zambia. Many would be very, very happy and grateful to God if they lived half the mans life.

  66. Rupiah owes everything that he is today to his new-found friendship with Levy. Without Levy, Rupiah would be today nothing in the politics of our country, let alone in the MMD.

Rupiah knows very well what the wishes of Levy on succession and the future leadership of this country were. He also knows very well where Levy placed him in the scheme of things. But he has decided to ignore his friend’s wishes simply because he is dead; he is not there anymore. If Levy were around, there is no way Rupiah would be doing what he is doing. Rupiah would certainly not be a candidate for the presidency of this country with Levy around to supervise things.

  67. However, Rupiah’s decision and actions in these matters are not a product of oversight nor are they unconscious, but rather they are deliberate and conscious. Rupiah has allowed himself to be blinded by ambition, by the prestige and benefits that go with being president of the Republic of Zambia.

For this, Rupiah is ready to sacrifice whatever relationship he had with Levy. For this Rupiah is ready to ignore or discard Levy’s wishes.

It is understandable that the temptation is huge, is gigantic. But character is measured by how much one can stand such temptations. Rupiah has certainly failed the test of loyalty, of honesty. He is not a man one can trust. What Rupiah has done is not

  68. The speech was moving but got political at some stage. Especially when she talked of LPM’s ‘enemies’ becoming her enemies as well. It began to sound like she’s angry with a lot people – if not all Zambians. This is no time for antagonism.

  69. What Rupiah has done is not different from what Judas Iscariot did to Jesus Christ.

Well, we are told in Sirach 12:8 -12 that “when things are going well, it is hard to tell who your real friends are, but in hard times you can recognise your enemies: even your friends will leave you then. But when you are successful, your enemies will act like friends. Never trust an enemy; his wickedness is as destructive as rust. Watch out, and be on guard against him, even if he acts ever so humble. He is like a metal mirror that rusts away if you don’t keep it polished. Seat an enemy at your right hand, and the next thing you know he’ll be trying to get your own place of honour. Put him next to yo

  70. Number 101…It´s true about what you said. But my brother, the problem in ZAMBIA is that one does not know who is REALLY A TRUE AND VISIONARY LEADER..evidence.. what is currently happening, for me it looks like child play. What politicians should always remember is that TALK IS CHEAP!!

  71. Put him next to you, and he’ll overthrow you. Then you will realise the truth of my words, and be stung with regret when you remember them”.

And in the same book of the Bible, at 20:29, we are told that “gifts and bribes make even wise men blind to the truth, and prevent them from being honest…” At 37:1, we are again told that “anyone can claim to be your friend, but some people are friends in name only”.
The same Bible also reminds us that “nothing that comes from bribery or injustice will last, but the effects of loyalty will remain forever” (Sirach 40:12).

  72. We cannot think of a more contemptible man – our power of imagination fails us to bring into our minds’ eyes – a more despicable man than the man who betrays his friend who has done so much for him, who moved him from a nobody to the second highest political leadership position in the land, and abandons his friend after he dies even before he is buried. This is a man as low as we can picture.

  73. It is said that true religion rests on love. It is equally true that loyalty rests on love.
Well, Rupiah can say it is his democratic right to seek adoption and become the MMD candidate in the forthcoming presidential by-election. Yes, this is legally correct. But the argument doesn’t end here. He can only say so if he is ignorant of what loyalty means. But hasn’t he ever heard of a saying: ignorantia non est argumentum – meaning ignorance is no argument. Loyalty is a sentiment, not a law. It rests on love, not on restraint.

  74. We are also told that life springs from death; and from the graves of patriotic men and women spring living nations.

We pledge to Zambia our love. This is a place of peace, sacred to the dead, where men should speak with all charity and with all restraint; but we will hold it a Christian thing to hate evil, to hate untruth, to hate disloyalty, and, hating them, to strive to overthrow them.
Deception is always a pretty contemptible vice, but to deceive the poor of this country is the meanest of all crimes.

  75. Rupiah’s behaviour should be a good reminder to all of us that no matter what laws we pass, no matter what precautions we take, unless the people we meet are kindly and decent, we won’t make much progress. We say this because integrity, decency come from human beings, rather than from laws and institutions.

We don’t believe in the law of hate. We may not be true to our ideals always, but we believe in the law of love, of loyalty, of honesty, and we believe you can do nothing with hatred. We would like to see a time when man loves his fellow man and forgets his own personal interests, his tribe or his race.

  76. But Rupiah and his sponsors should remember that people are loyal to those who are loyal to them. People have faith in those who have faith in them; those who know how to respond to friendship and the trust they have received.

Given his conduct, can Rupiah be said to be a man of loyalty? And let us also look at his sponsors – Vernon Mwaanga, Mbita Chitala and Mike Mulongoti, among others. Can these men truly be said to be men of loyalty? Ask Kenneth Kaunda, Frederick Chiluba, among others, if they can say that Mwaanga is a man of loyalty? And ask those who know Chitala and Mulongoti if these men can be said to be loyal to anybody other than themselves. These are the men who have taken

  77. These are the men who have taken it upon themselves to guide Zambians in choosing a successor for Levy. And Rupiah – this clearly disloyal and dishonest person – is their choice!

All we can do in these moments is to remember a thought of Commandante Ernesto Che Guevara’s: “The present is the struggle. The future belongs to us.”
We are not crazy. We know very well what we are looking for and what we are doing and why we are sacrificing ourselves.

We see the suffering of our people, we see the poverty everywhere, we witness despair wherever we go. We also saw the bit of light Levy was bringing to the lives of our people and how much some of them appreciated. And this is reflected in

  78. And this is reflected in the way they are mourning him, they are missing his presence. We see clearly the opportunity Levy was creating for them to try and meaningfully address their suffering, their poverty and despair. We feel the blood boil in our veins when we see opportunistic politicians trying to squander this great opportunity Levy has created and we convince ourselves of the need to do something, whatever it may be, to ensure that our people continue to move forward, and not backward.

The Rupiah lunacy going on needs to be stopped by all men and women of goodwill. Lunacy is always distressing, but sometimes it is dangerous; and when you get it manifested at such very high lev

  79. and when you get it manifested at such very high levels of the state, it is about time that it should be quickly put away.

The Zambian people needs to demand the new type of nationalism which puts national needs before sectional or personal advantage. We say this because our country means nothing unless it means the triumph of a real democracy, the triumph of a truly popular government, and, in the long run, of an economic system under which each man and woman, boy and girl shall be guaranteed the opportunity to show the best that there is in them.

  80. If we don’t quickly move in this direction, our people will soon get fed up with this system of apparent democracy – not real democracy – in the country. People have grown accustomed to mixing up politics with their economic activities, using their democratic freedom in much the same way as we use cosmetics.

In an honest political environment, virtue opens a way for itself, merit prospers, and conniving, greed and cheating fail.

This is the way we see things and this is why we find Rupiah’s conduct contemptible. We truly find him a despicable man – a man who can betray his friend before he is even buried, a Judas Iscariot of our time.

  81. You Zambians, no wonder we do not move forward. You are busy castigating the Post and Maureen with Levy. If we were serious planners, we would not be talking about such right now.THINK, what do we need to do from this minute, to move our nation, develop, etc. Stop wasting your time with the hatred coming out of your loud mouths.

Think twice, if you dont, shut up.

  83. Rupiah, a shameless Judas Iscariot

Of all possible negative human attitudes, the one we hate the most is disloyalty.
And, of all the positive ones, the one we value most is loyalty and firmness of principles. We would say that the one we detest the most is betrayal of principles, and the one we most admire is loyalty to principles.

  84. I’m not a sypathiser of RP nor NM.in my opinion the post Have become very desperate. i hope Ruphia is picked so that we see how stupid/foolish they will become.Right now they have become irrelevant.Even when people wanted Magande i think they have made him more vlnarable.Because it looks like the post have been bribed and have launched a dangerous personal attack on RP.
The attack has become so personal and shows the un-zambian culture of hatred.shameful

  85. skillz
how can meembe talk about RB betrayin mwanawasa when mwanawasa was the biggest betrayer after being given a job that pipo die for bye one magnanimous Chiluba, we know meembe is a homosexual or is it bisexual seeing as he has a pretend wife..

  86. So what if Rupiah was pickedd from the doldrums? Even Kaunda to be the first Prime Minister Of Zambia, his in name had to be inserted in the constitution. So umodzi Kumaba!!!!

  87. I beg to differ over comments that Mwanawasa betrayed Chiluba. This is exactly what Mwanawasa tried to implant in us during his seven year namely that theft is bad. Yes, he was hand picked by Chiluba but it did not entail that he had to dance to Chiluba’s music or rather cover up what he had done plundering of the economy. Let us not develop this mentality that Mwanawasa betrayed Chiluba. He did not. What he did is called JUSTICE. Let us not confuse an act of being honest and that of betrayal. Mwanawasa spent 7 years teaching us that theft was wrong and one engaging in such activities would be punished. Let us build on the foundation he has he left and not destroy

  88. Levy was an advocate of good governance. It is true, many of us did not believe in him when he started his first term, but by the start of his campaign for the second term, he had converted most of us into true believers, including me.
He believed(s) in the future of our young nation, unlike most other politicians who are in it for themselves to line thier pockets.
The best we can do is to continue on the road to economic prosperity and good governance by remaining vigil and holding our leaders accountable, while working hard for the youth of this nation whilst instilling pride in them.Letting them know that to be born Zambian is not a crime, but truly a privallege.MAY LEVY’S LEGACY LIVE ON

  89. The monument of progress rests at the embassy pack in front of cabinet offices.Though you die with the burden of not believing in you when you were doing the right thing,i stand to believe that amongst the people whom you shared life and governance with, there are some who believed in you they shall carry the candle you have lighten for every one of us.And amongst those growing now who have wittnessed how dear you have been honoured not only by your fellow Zambians but by those from other countries, they too are feeled by the passion that if only a man do the right thing,if only a man can strive for good there is much greatness in that.Rest in pease Mr president.

  90. #132 Anonymous you’re a nut case. Yes Mmembe’s timing is a bit absurd but making a relative comparison of LPM and RB to that of LPM and Kafupi is insane. What Levy did to Chiluba wasn’t betrayal but a courageous stance on behalf of chaps like you that has worked out positively for the majority of poor Zambians. You guys must open your eyes. Has it not yet dawned upon you that people behind RB can not be trusted? They’re the same people we’ve been calling wolves and jackals – the same characters who recked our economy. Be careful what you wish for. Mark my word, 12 months from today, Zambians will regret the blind choice they’re about to make. We’re better off with Sata RB and his gang.

  91. The President has been intered, his wife Madam Mauren gave a political speech during the church service at Parliament, proclaiming that her husbands enemies are now her enemies.

I would have expected her to tell the nation how she had lost a friend, how he made her laugh, how he was a good father etc.

To make matters worse, she didnt even weep at her husbands grave, and left even before the burial ceromony was concluded. What sort of precedent is she setting for African women?

Her hunger for political power has blinded her, and now this is the woman we are supposed to believe that LPM SC had annointed a successor. Please!

  92. Cont…..Her desperation even sent her to RB, promising him an endorsement on condition that Magande doesn’t lose his cabinet position, and she be appointed as Minister. Reliable souces inform me that RB replied saying if he loses, he will retire to his farm where LPM SC found him, and expects that Magande would do the same. Regarding her request for a Ministerial position, the souce informed me that RP asked to mourn her husband instead.

  93. Am not ready to critic mama Mwanawasa just yet. for the simple reason I don’t know what it’s like to lose a spouse.

Maybe she’s in a state of shell-shock, the force of the tragedy on her brain compromises her ability to think straight. The not weeping at the grave site, the walking away before the finale. All of that can be misinterpreted by someone who has never been thru that experience.

Maybe in her confusion and her desperation, she seeks to hold on to her late husband by acquiring a position in government. to let him continue to live thru her. I have no idea. i will lay off mama Mwanawasa for now.

  94. #141 and 142 If what you’re saying about Maureen talking to RB in that manner is a lie, may a serious curse befall you. May you never prosper in your life for speaking ill against a widow of a former president. May calamity and desperation follow you through out your life and may you never have children.

  95. @12, Mugabe’s been here was planned to show his gat a human side after all…gathering support for his existent.

    RIP LPM

  96. #146 Ba prophet are you a devil worshipper? what’s all this cursing and your mouth is foul man. You are a shame on this blog. Go and join Haamanjanji at the railway station to hell.

  97. As we put our great leader to rest, we should celebrete his great achievements. Watch out for fake former leaders of UNIP who are now posing as MMD leaders, who achieved nothing during their prime time in UNIP and now want to deceive Zambians that they can deliver. These people are going to wipe ALL the achivements that our GREAT leader did. Beware of RB who has no previos record of achievement.

From nothing, Levy nominated Rupiah to become member of parliament and his Vice-President. Rupiah has over the last seventy-one or so years never been a political heavyweight in our country, especially not over the last seventeen years. Rupiah

  99. Let’s stick to the facts, let’s respect one anothers opinions and above all let’s use gentlemanly language towards each other on this blog.

Our thinking should be directed towards determining what party will best take Zambia forward.

  100. Mum Maureen so touching, but for most of the mourners with their crocodile tears and compliments they are not different from Mfwiti Mugabe shameless hypocritical chameleons. Bamumbi munda. You never appreciated anything about LPM inspite of his good works and sacrifices for mother Zed. Repent of you Hypocrisy and learn to appreciate people while they are alive you liars. May God forgive you. LPM rest in peace!

  101. Of all possible negative human attitudes, the one we hate the most is disloyalty.

  102. #151 Prophet you’re clearly out of line man. The truth from #142 seems to have unsettled you. You are so quick to you curse you even misunderstood the humour from Sweet Power. Homie, you are the one to run not me I ain’t scared.
Your curses will bounce back on you and your organs will stop functioning, no children, no future for you. Good thing too cuz there’ll be no more of your evil prophecy.
By the way I don’t believe in that cursing bull, so try to pull one on me, it won’t work. Not even if you asked the devil.

  103. Well i just can’t believe the venom in that post editorial, that article is so VILE!!

i mean where do these guys get the audacity to label someone all these names, and for what?.. because someone(Rupiah) is execising his democratic right,

Seems Membe is really pissed here,Rupiah must have surely touched some raw nerves here,

this is proper abuse of press freedom, not even the pro Republican Fox news network attacks Obama/Dems with such foul verbatim,

Membe again calm down, you can critiq someone without being so vile,

be advised that scribes are not immune, some have bn indicted for genocide in places like Rwanda,Yugoslavia etc for simply imflamming emotions in tense times,

  104. Yes lpm had alot of Mugabes around him both Locally and Abroad. His passing on has only revealed and comfirmed their hypocrisy. Today baleti iyo we appreciated his principles and values when he was alive they actually creiticised and opposed him Left, right center bakaboke!
Mugabe nuci mumona aletutuma alefilwa ukufungulula amaboko. Umwenso ewaci muleta. Lesa amyafwe.

  105. I STAND TO BE CORRECTED FELLOW BLOGGERS BUT I FEEL RB HAS THE SAME QUALIFICATIONNS AS MAGANDENOMICS.HE HAS A DEGREE AND A MASTERS IN ECONOMICS FROM A HIGHLY RECOGNISED UNIVERSITY(LEEDS).SO WHERE IS THE DIFFERENCE??????WHAT IS THE POST TALKING ABOUT?
-BEHOLD THE POST IS BURNING-LET MEMBE BURN WITH IT.HIS HEART IS FULL OF HATRED!!!!!VIVA RB VIVA.WHETHER THEY LIKE IT OR NOT,SWEET RB IS “THE NEXT”

  106. If I could turn back the hands of time, I would tell KK to subotage those elections that turned Zambia into a house of thieves. You Guys are still babys and really do not know what it means to stand up for Ideology. You use words whose meaning is outdated!!
Ba Kaunda that was Iron Leadership..Respect!!Ba Chiluba .. the hour came for you to Steal. And ba LPM it is sad to hear you are dead. Actually this is the time for some Politicians to get a good beating, because I am tired of silly politics.Get a Strong man on that Prez postion and stop telling Jokes.h Some times Love aint enough or should I say sometimes “Democracy aint enough”. One Zam , One Nation…back to One Party Demo.

  107. President Levy Mwanawasa was truly visionary but just a bit too slow for the constitution. The best for Zambia lies on a very good constitution that safe guards the bill of rights for the people and all the systems and institutions of governance.

Guarding the people from tyrants, vultures and hyenas who may abuse Zambians again. It would have been the best gift to have left for Mother Zambia. A true rule of Laws not Men;-Regardless no one should be above the Law as we see it here in civilised countries

    Anyway he set the NCC; hope the CIVIL Society and the next president will take it as a matter of urgency. Mwanawasa;
May your soul rest in heavenly peace. You will be missed truly.

  108. #156 A little phychology on you and you’re already fletting like a headless chicken. I can literally read between lines that I scared you to hell. That serves you right – stop posting disgusting lies on this blog bastard iwe. You’re burning with hate of the Mwanawasas because they’re more successful than you wenchushi iwe, kapondo, koswe. Keep on with that attitude until it eats you up. It’s just as well your lineage will end with you.

  109. why cant all these comments be sent to the editor they do have emails and its called a pertition that actually tells them such language is not acceptable even if the person is not your favoured candidate i have already sent them a diplomatic email you do the same

  110. #164 what’s phycology? something you learnt in your years of wizadry? what the f~k is fletting? where did you have english class? dude you can’t match me, which bush are you blogging from? you have computers there? or are you using tortoise technology from Katele headquarters?
you probably think i’m posting from Zambia, great mistake, in this part of my world people are still shopping and having fun. by the way, my lineage has already been passed on, one of them chicks in high school just had to get me laid, you’re kinda late bro. the difference between me and you is that I AM and you’re the wanna-be. wanna be me? you don’t stand a chance in f~ng hell. tough luck. so jack your ~ss off pal

  111. Ba maureen.its really been a difficult time of your life. 2 months of great pain. will surely keep you in my prayers. we ve lost a loving father of zambia MHSRIP.Zambians pliz vote wisely in november.

  112. The usual praises…..tamwaleka ubufi and face reality!!!!!!
Levy fired Kabeta ku ZAWA, Chona ku Task Force coz he had to protect friends like Mahtan and Oddyseas Mnadaleseus Oddyz annd many others but today he has done a lot teeee!
Lets vote and change the copper export taxes for our Local treasuty to be fat and not Magande’s or Levy’s british accounts to be fat alone….the local civil servant gets change while we sit and wait for a consistution which was already made by Willa Mung’omba and Levy refused it after they presented it to him at the same time to the press and the general public…remember how upset he was with chief and Willa…Lelo at ni Hero…pipo,Zeros are not HEROS pliz

  113. This is the way we see things and this is why we find the POST directors’s conduct contemptible. We truly find him a despicable man – a man who can betray the country to have their man at plot 1. He a Judas Iscariot of our time. He will soon be burried when his ‘finished’ paper stops selling.

  114. Last week President Mwanawasa informed the nation that Mr Mukelebai had opted to resign his position following numerous allegations about his suitability to continue holding the office.
Mr Mwanawasa said he then advised the DPP not to resign but go on a 45-day leave after which Government would find him a scholarship to proceed on sabbatical leave.
The President also read out two anonymous letters he received which alleged that Mr Mukelebai had an eight-hour meeting with Mr Chungu at a hotel. Tuesday, January 13, 2004 ZAMNET

  115. Ba Maureen Mwanawasa, the country feels sorry for you and your pain as someone who has lost a partner. MHSRIP. However, that being said, can you now STOP making too many statements about what Levy wanted, what Levy said etc etc. The man is gone. He wasn’t too bad a leader, but he wasn’t faultless either. We must now as a nation decide who is going to be the next leader while you begin to pack up and make way for the next leader and first lady to move into Plot 1. Please don’t tell us what to do – YOU were NEVER our President, you were just a first lady and now a FORMER first lady.

  116. …. and another thing ba Mama Mwanawasa. Be very careful about your future actions and words. The past years you have done things and hidden behind the MMI or the ‘first lady’ cloak – that era is over. Mwalasebanya nomba. A lot of people know about what you have been up to, not only with Darlington Mwape, your long time lover but some corrupt things as well, which Levy did not even know of !

  117. #177, may thoughts exactly. And now that its all over hopefully we can move forward as a nation and stop this underserved praising and wasting of govt funds

  118. Ba LPM tried his best but we will also remember his worst eg recalling old guards from retirement instead upgrading new blood (Mbula et al in the Defence), raping the constitution though he claimed to uphold the rule of law (Nevers appointment, Mukelabai’s tribunal, Task Force when ACC/ DPP could have done the job, rigged elections including Magande’s MP win etc etc.

  119. Ba Maureen is at her lowest ebb and i pray that she will find strength in God alone. The Post must not incite this good woman to go political just yet, she needs some time alone with trusted friends and geniune family. She needs to guide her children after such a difficult time and not to be pushed into politics. I was saddened reading news on France 24 that she was jeered by mourners.

Ba Maureen, Jesus Christ is the husband to the widows, please find your strength in him.

  120. mwanawasa is not the first person zambia has lost. What about the great kapwepwe and other freedom fighters who past away sometime back?why should Mwanawasa’s kid insult the nation?

  121. LPM died a sad man ’cause neither u molin believed in him. If LPM was a husband and father, which he was, molin should be concerned about going back to her village, where ever it is, for ukupianika (Ulinechiwa) and stop playing the psycho game on Zambians. The constitution will and should take care of the political part. There are many widows in Zambia who have suffered the same fate. There husbands in life were more “presidents” than LPM because they took care of families, extended families with very little they earned toiling the hard soil. unfortunately, those “presidents” have no one to remember them, save their wives and dependents. The real “first ladies” now widows never cry foul.

  122. #141, Do you pipo realise as the ‘Chief morner’ Maureen had to leave, otherwise she d have locked the visiting presidents at the site? Mwe ma Zambians mukondema things you dont understand. If the presidents left before she did, temuchinshi, to her, to the Z. She did the right thing. The poor woman has been dignified through out the moarning thus far. It was good to hear she accompaned the casket around zambia. give credit were its due.
But post dont drag her into politics yet.
    lpm rest in peace.

  123. When one makes a statement one must be clear! Why did the former first lady not expalin what she meant by he died a sad man? Umwaiche buti alipama.

She needs help I think! I also think that it will be difficult for her to grasp and understand the sudden loss of power and influence that she once wielded.

Now she will see who her real friends are!

  124. I use THE POST as shinda paper because it digs deeper and i have no problem soiling my pants with amashinshya. The best we can do is use the post exclusively for this purpose. If you find it very hard and rough, use a bit of water to soften it. U will not regret and toilet paper is very expensive but ngawaka chekula ka post and especially where Fred’s head is and use it to scoope the staff out, awe mwandi, u will always want to go to the toilet pantu ilomfwika bwino

  125. Fred Membe dont think you can dictated to zambians, what betrayer are you talking about? why didnt LPM himself tell us his whishes on who to succede him. IF you thinks RB has betrayed LPM,fine then it sweet revenge because LPM betrayed FTJ.

  126. The spich that Patrick made was very encouraging and that meant him be a real man as compered to his sister who was insulting us in the presence of other heads of state .That meant her be a real child who wait for instructions from her mother or father.

  127. I never liked the post from the day it was conceived. M’membe capitalised on the very lack of the critical analysis of zambians in political issues. Zedians cannot be fooled anymore my friend M’membe. I wonder if at all you sometimes peruse through LT blogs because here you will find pipo of high calibre. pipo who have just refused to buy your copy and paste lies. May the soul of LPM, together with that of your toilet paper called the post rest in the much needed eternal peace.

  128. LPM was not a dictator and he knew that in politics and in a democratic nation, not everyone would always agree with their President ! I think the former first lady better stop over-using her late husband’s name. Can she now mourn him in silence with her family.

And since she was quite the committed wife (NOT!) can she also enlighten the nation on the THREE trips she secretly made to Zambia while LPM was lying in hospital either dead or close to dead ? When we all thought she by his side. What was she moving ? And with whom ? These trips at tax payers expense… watch this space !

  129. #189 kwena walasa. to date this is the most impressive definition of the POST newspaper. Membe ni ndoshi. #193 Can someone please update on what the Sister said about us

  130. The POST seem to be succeeding in decampaigning Magande. I wonder why they have harboured such a hatred for the finance minister who is believed to be behind Zambia’s economic success. Sad indeed, the post is slowly dying like the MONITOR.

I could be missing something. Which bible was Fred M’membe quoting in claiming RB is a Judas? I seem not to find the book called Sirach among the 66 bible books. Or perhaps he quoted it in Greek, Hebrew or Aramaic. Please help.

  131. #40, I agree with you. LPM was a man who spoke his mind so please, don’t put words in the mouth of our departed leader.

At the same time, this could be a clean slate for our politics – the next president cannot prosecute the former. Let’s move on and build Zed, mwe bantu please!

  132. One possible reason could have died a sad man is the nature and type of death his mother died. Imagine your so called wife moving around the world in posh cars and planes while your mother is using a toyota hiace minibus overloaded with petrol. I can imagine the mother died an extruciating and painful death such that levy got traumatised forever cos he knew rite from that moment that his maureen was not at all with him in spirit and heart. So the bottomline is MAUREEN IS THE CAUSER OF THE SADNESS SHE IS TALKING ABOUT.

  133. because the market did not provide. There is only so much the market can do, and government is needed where it fails to deliver goods and services.

I have a few suggestions in my manifesto, please feel free to add to them.

  134. sad day for zambia, but what hurts the ex frist lady is that she has no more power.by the way is it true that the is a well known lady in lusaka who,s fee is k1m kwacha per round? got an e-mail on her acts and list of men who have been victims.

  135. LPM set a standard, next Pres must attempt to fit on his shoes.Nothing less.Zambia deserves better than the likes of SATA,RB,CHITI etc.

  136. Somebody help me. what has gone wrong at the post? or is it just my judgement that something is seriosly wrong in bwinjifumu?

  137. Maureen is phony, how can she allow the body, be teken all over the country. All govt heads in provinces could have sent representatives.

She is also guilty of politicising the death. MMD Panse!!

  138. The coming goverment will not work under such working ways. We will follow the Mwanawasa way of work. Yo RB is just a chancer who we will stop. he has no support in goverment. Wait and see. we have the goverment machinary to stop RB and we will stop him. MAgande will be the next man in state house and we will support his works.
Coming from the eastern provice is no passport to become the head.

  139. Imwe bantu what is happening with the Post? We rely on the post and Lusaka Times for news back home but Iam surprised Post hasn’t yet posted today’s music. What’s happening? Anyone knows?

  140. Am sorry that the President is dead and he was a great man in Zambia and i hope we will have a good President who can leard in Zambia like he did…. THANK YOU

  141. #209 Iwe mambala leave Maureen alone! I think the decision to take LPM to the provicial headquarter was a good one, a greater chance for many to mourn and pay their last respects to a great Leader. Utumano ubuche…!

  142. LPM was a very great great President but nw people are still crying for him because he was great i hope they will choose a President that can keep Zambia….

  143. Someone at the Post will be arrested for defamation and locked up after being vundumulared up at 3 in the morning. Wina azalila!

  144. The Post has not been paying workers on time. He has pumped money into Zambian airways. Mutembo Nchito and Fred are facing bankruptcy.

Thats they’re calling Banda a Lunatic.

Bloody Post. Its time to pack up and go

  145. Mwashika ba Levy bane, iyee how sad. Please post more pictures or let us know of any other sites showing the burial. Kuno Australia I don’t think they even said a thing about it, or did I just miss it?

  146. Can we now move foward it is not for country to be sad for a longer time, too much sad news over one person. Let that sad news be on the first lady like any other widow. They so many great pipo who have died and families like the Nkumbula of this world, Kapwepwes, Winas,Tembos and them but the country did not mourn forever.

  147. Its so sad n all touchy. Thanks a lot 2 all those helpin us thru this difficult n trying time.I may b away frm hom bt am also in great pain. All thoz bak hom we r 1.may hs soul rest in intenal peace.Chimbuya C sorry abt yo lose I which I ws thr wit u,bt jst no tht I am thinkin abt u,b strong n keep well.

  148. Am very disppointed with the former 1st lady Maureen, How can she say your enemies were my enemies there was no better term maybe she could have said you made alot of friends. your friends become my friends. Indeed she needs to be taught again

  149. This has been a sad moment for our country. I pray that God continues to bless us and help us grow stronger and united. We have so much potential as a nation and a country. May god grant us a leader who will continue the late Dr Mwanawasa’s work and may our late president’s soul rest in peace.

  150. Ba Post have a problem.fred thinks he can choose for the zambians who he wants to have as president of zambia.lets not allow him to make zambia his playground as he is now taking things too personal. he did it with sata and now RB. let him grow up. rest in eternal peace Levy.

  151. BA POST, NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY ABOUT RB; NOTHING WILL CHANGE ; WHY DON’T YOU PUT YOUR EFFORTS IN ADVOCATING FOR YOUR CANDIDATE RIGHTLY ; YOU ARE NO LONGER A POPULAR PAPER;YOU HAVE BEEN DIGGING YOUR OWN DITCH AND SOON YOU WILL BE BURIED FOR GOOD TOO!
GOD WILL DEAL WITH YOU IN HIS OWN WAY.

  152. Remember Chiluba hand-picked Levy from his sleep and Levy bit Chiluba’s finger. no one expected to see FTJ going to courts of law and then you expect RB to just go back to Eastern province to do what?

Twalosha sana mwe!! Let us now do some developments. Another reminder it is not MMD going to state house but PF!!! Mu bwato. We know Sata will just rule for three years and hand over to another person, we have another Mandela in the making. Sata God bless you and I am sure you have started grooming a Joshua!!

  153. How can a widow leave her husband funreal. Mrs Mwanawasa where were you going leaving the the visting head of states en rushing to state house you are shame to woman folk of zambia

  154. We hope that on the night before MMD candidate selection RB will not be assassinated as it was with Paul Tembo. Someone please check on him tonight. we don’t want another state funeral.

  155. AT THIS TIME MAUREEN , IT IS BETTER TO KEEP QUIET OR LEST YOU SHALL SAY THINGS THAT WE NEED NOT TO KNOW? WHO MADE MWANAWASA SAD ? WAS IT YOU OR OTHERS ?
AND WHAT DID YOU DO TO MAKE HIM HAPPY YOURSELF ? OR ARE YOU TELLING US THAT YOU ARE ALSO AN ACCOMPLICE ?
MY SISTER LILA FYE AND SHUT YOUR MOUTH FOR THE TIME BEING. RIGHT NOW YOU ARE THE ATTENTION OF EVERY ONE , DON’T SAY THINGS THAT YOU WILL REGRET FOR THE REST OF YOUR YOUR LIFE?

  156. This lady moreen is a big liar, she want us to believe that she’s so grieved and yet she is happy that her minsion is accomplished,if you wanted to celebrate your mariage this month you could have asked your husband to step down and continue with your private life.and don’t tell us that you will die without a man friend, just two weeks from now we shall see people visiting and say we have come to mourn while there will be an intruder.

  157. 5 Reasons why PF will never rule Zambia

    1. Personality Cult
    2. Uncourteous Leadership and Demeaning humor
    3. Dictatorial Tendencies
    4. Urban Political Party
    5. Unsound foreign Policies

  158. Mingeli Palata-Say what you want, PF is taking over.

If you dont want to believe that PF is taking over fine-join your fellow wishful thinkers with ver shallow analysis-The Post.

They have said that they will never talk about Sata-i wonder what they will write when PF wins.

    May be the headline will be like this;

“A named political party defeats MMD”

    Yabaa…..

Ba post baba mu ndeke (zambian airways)-ifwe twaba mu bwato

  159. palata SATA is going to state house get it right and from me UBWATOOOOOOOOO PF NIZZZZZZZZEEEE…… every1 is in the boat except you

  160. By the way continued #234 that’s not to say I have confidence in RB. We just don’t want resources going towards another state funeral. i believe anything will be better than the MMD

  161. A few issues, first the post is behaving like a political party. Brethrens, i have travelled around the world but i v never heard a media that has stopped covering someone because of indifferences actually they even cover you more if you differ with them. To me that is childish. Sata will become more popular now. Second, their editorials for sure are pathetic…how can they sink so low to be biased? The times has really behaved maturely. Abash Post, Viva Times, Viva SATA!!!!

  162. u know wat guys we ve buried now lets look forward anyone with the speech maureen wrote pliz post it here we need it in time

  163. We mourn with the first Lady and her family. But in doing this may I submit that we do not owe them our loyalty. Our sympathy is enough and that must not be used to drive us into making decisions in Mrs.Mwanawasa,Mr.Magande or Mr.M’eembe ‘s favor.
Mr.Mwanawasa’s(M.H.S.R.I.E.P)wishes were his personal opinions and true democracy allows us the people to make our own choices without fear or favor.
We do not owe Mr.Mwanawasa any favor for doing his Job,the job that we elected him to do by his own choice.Ba Fred and the rest of them are not Zambians saviors,we appreciate what they do but they must not take us for a ride.We have our own minds and can make our choices without their opinions!

  164. So what if he died a sad man where you seen someone laughing and rejoying when dying. We all dont whant to die no wonder sadness comes in. Dont blame the death of levy on zedians your should blame your lust and creedness for worth!

  165. I have never seen a widow leaving her husbands burial site before other mourners. Why did Maureen leave even before invited heads of state? I was really really disappointed. If anything she was supposed to be the very last person to leave…..!

  166. i’ve been collecting these interesting acronyms from all over the internet.

  167. i think SATA did well to stop associating himself with this paper called the ‘POST’,i reckon they wuld be covering him like the way RB is being covered in their editorials…The post..the paper that digs rubbish…

  168. VERY TRUE! The Post is headed for its downfall. It has completely abandoned its principles and adopted the stance of a political party – a childish one for that matter. The Post, for whatever reason, have become nothing but a mouth piece for Meureen and magande. The Post can make you vomit these days. No one should impose a leader on us – not even Levy. Whatever he may have said was merely his opinion as one person. We are over 10 million. We don’t want him to impose someone on us the way he was imposed on us by the EVIL ka Chiluba. NEVER this time.

  169. “We will always remember you(LPM) and love you,,until we meet again,,on the other side, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Lesa uwasukaaaa elesaaaaaa, lesa uwa suka lesa,
We will always remember you(LPM) and love you,,until we meet again on the other side aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa”

  170. LET ME TELL YOU Y THE POST IS DOING THIS NOW PIPO. 1. THEY NOW HAVE THE AIRLINE WITH THE BROTHERS, 2. THE BROTHERS HAVE NOT BEING PAYING FEES AT THE AIRPORT.3 ITS NOT RUNING THE WAY AN IAR LINE HAS TO RUN AND NAC CAN SAY THIS AS WELL AS AT TO DAT THE HAVE TO PAY ZMK 13B TO NAC. SO THE NEED MAGANDE SO THAT THEY TELL HIM WHAT TO TELL THE MD AT NAC. TIME HAS COME FOR THE AIRLINE TO GO, THE POST TO GO, AND FOR MD AT THE POST TO KNOW THAT ZAMBIA IS FOR EVERY ONE AND NOT THE POST..I ONLY HAVE 2 PIPO WHO MAY GO IN TO PLOT 1 THIS TIME SATA OR RB THATS IT….

  171. please help me understand when how maureen can accuse all of us of not appreciating levy?i thought he was elected to work not and that he was drawing a salary and allowance as appreciation!!!Leaders are dont go into politics to appreciated.i know she wrote the speech under great emotions, but the bible says from the abundancy of the heart the mouth speaks.please please help me understand her speech…………

  172. Iyee imwee!!! The young eye-candy Mrs. Banda is now the Acting First Lady!! Ni zee!! You can take that fact to the bank if you want!! Maureen had no idea that such power could slip out of her hands so suddenly. My dear, ulimbe.

What’s this I hear that Rupiah Banda’s cabinet will be picked from the National Archives and Lusaka Museum?

  173. Viva Anonymous-No 254.

Thats what is happening-the post want to protect their business interests-we all know

    …ifwe twakana

  174. can please someone tell me when the widow of mwanawasa will leave state house, maybe she will wake up to reality that mwanawasa is dead…

  175. What do you expect from the post when the writers are not even jounalists. No professional ethics at all. mmembe is an accountant from CBU( UNZADO then) while Amos Malupenga has just a collection of certifactes of attendance from varous workshops. AM was seen crying uncontrollable on TVZ a things he has never done for us relatives. Shame on you Amos god will judge you. Am terribbly ashamed.

  176. #249 continuation
    MMD:
    Movement for Marijuana Dealers
    Movement for Monkey Doers
    Movement for Major Diarrhoea
    Movement for Media Dictatorship

  177. The Post! Yaba! Did u guys see yesterday’s editorial in the post? Shame! I was at pains trying to differentiate it from one of the political parties. Anyway it’s common knowledge. The chaps know that they’ve to support those they’re close to (Maureen/Magande) for fear of going down should the por-Chiluba regime take over. The Nchitos (Zambian Airways) & The Mmembes would shut down if their close MMD allies lose the top seat to some1 else. Anyway, come Friday we’ll know which way things are going. By the way I don’t mean 2 say I saupport RB, No! Am not in support of anyone!

  178. #24 .Get it clear the POST used to be successful but not anymore. for yo info their employee go without salaries for 2 months

  179. 33. Such comments do not come from a person born of human being. wher did you grow up from? Are u a satanist who has no feelings? when someone has died you don’t say such things.

  180. #263. Mapa. Are u related to that shameful Amos Malupenga? There are some stories cooking about him no wonder he wept uncontrollable on TVZ. I could hardly believe a mere journalist would go 2 such length crying. Alelyako!

  181. Guys, life is strange! Nobody is appeciated while alive. Let them die, u will see praises coming. It is normal, so just keep working hard. Don’t wait for someone to say yu are gud! otherwise u will never work or let alone be appreciated when you die. That is my motto!!!

  182. Wont the fact that RB was born in Zimbabwe become a problem once the race gets under way , because i can see this going to the courts of law and evidently an injuction could be put in effect till it is clear if RB surely does qulify to be President .
And if the opposition play there cards just right by the time RB gets the all clear it would be too late coz the ellections would have been done with long back . there are alot of Factors that the MMD has not considerd in this state of panic for re ellection .so far its all been MMD this MMD that dont be fooled by the opposition being silent at this time there up to some thing huge . imy opinon its the begining of the end of MMD .

  183. Like i said before .. WE have a very shot memory ..
Was it not the same MMD the put a clouse thet disqulified KK from standing because he was born in Malawi or some thing like that and i even remeber some poor MP or some cahp got deported for the same reason coz of Birth country.
So today now bwcause its suites them it is ok if RB was born outside zambia …i Dont think yhe opposition are that stupid ..infact if were PF OR UPND or is it UNDP i would be hopping they MMD vest there intrest in RB so they can self destruct with there own rules.

  184. Why does MMD to day not have a VPEE
because LPM made sure that that the thret was delt with once and for all ,because if you remember back then all the the candidates viying for the vpee position were against LPM being president.
Now fast forward to 2008 , ASUME RB is pesident Highly unlikely but all the same what do you think he will do with the other 16 candidates that wanted his job , the Shikapwasha’s and all ..he will put them in check once and for all for some if not all could be the end of the road for them and they dont see that , blinded by greed.

  185. Fred Mmembe has over the years gained so much influnce that his agenda during the last sven years, does more often than not become the nations agenda. He has marshalled a tight knit of leaders who he summons to fight his causes. Many in the Govt circles worry that he literally hijacked Mwanawasa’s presidency that certain important decisions wree made in Bwinjimfumu and merely implemented from State House.
There’s now rife speculation that the empire Mutembo and Fred nuilt in the last few years in Zambian Airways and The Post is under serious Financial trouble and threat that if a miracle is not found the empire will collapse before them. For the New President, its personal survival that a f

  186. I agree with 248. What a shame. How can Maureen leave before the burial programme is over. This has never happened before. Poor Levy

  187. By the way, why are people refering to Former First Lady? I thought she is still First Lady until a president is elected? Is Mrs. RP Acting First Lady?

So Mama Maureen, take heart and appreciate what Zambia are saying. Wait for the death of eith Chiluba (so called Thief. You will see how pipo will praise him for bringing Multiparty democracy to Zambia. And for KK’s death, I know the world will come to a real stand still, but during their time KK was called killer who killed Simon M. Kapwepwe, Nalumino, etc.

  188. Have we lost our minds? Levy was not a God, he was a man. He ruled and now he is gone. We thank God for him.
Maureen is trying to imortalise him, Zambians wake up, we are not shot of leaders, i bet you there are some who can and will do better than Levy. Life should continue! Zambia is not a Monarchy! We have no proof that Levy choose Maganda even if he did He was not All knowing therefore his choice is just that His choice and not Zambia’s. Let Magande stand He will loose

  189. The electronic Post has not been updated because the dumb-ass fool who wrote yesterday’s editorial has diarrhoea arising from anxiety after thousands of people protested by e-mail about the editorial. The imbecile is shyting in his pants and rumour has it that that RB has ordered the attorney general to instigate charges of defamation. Well, he can use the paper Post to wipe his sorry arse.

  190. Rt now we have no president…so we have no first lady…Mama Betty Kaunda, Vera and Maureen are former first ladies….first lady is not a constitutional office….

  191. Vote ERB as for now, just for 3 yrs in Power.

    2011 will be hotter.

Magande give chance to ERB to misprove him self,as long as he
    return you as FM.

  192. Biggie Jim #198,The scripture Sirach is not in the regular bible the protestant or the pentecostals use its only in the catholic Bible as its part of the apocryfics. These are additional books that are in the catholic bible which Luther didn’t believe they were part of the God’s word, He chose to take them out.

  193. I have seen the Post and it stinks, Those gys are just trying to Protect Zambian Airways which is not doing so well. and i hear that Magande and Maureen are shareholder in Zambian Airways can someone shed some light

  194. In a democracy, the wishes of the majority prevail. The Post is getting so worked up to the point of insoulting the Acting Republican President. If Meembe is so principled and believes strongly in the tenets of democracy, why won’t he let the MMD pick their candidate in accordance with the party’s constitution?Whats this business of anointing a successor? The POST has truly lost it.

  195. Its nasty. Almost all the candidates have stains on them. Rb is surrounded by by the Chitala and Vj whereas Magande is standing to protect the interest of the select few… Mmembe, Muareen, Nchito’s… Sata is just a wrong chap… If only HH could improve on his brand and marketing….

  196. Maureen, is the one. Hard hearted woman. News has it that there are two camps at the funeral house the Maureen camp and Mwanawasa’s relatives camp. They Mwanawasa’s relatives were opposed to the idea of taking the body on Zungulila but she (Maureen) objected saying she wanted to do it. Did you see her dozing when Mabenga was reading his speech, what kind of a widow doses at her hubbys funeral, where is the emotion. Then she left before the funeral procession, saying she was tired….heelloo is it just me, I would never leave my hubby’s funeral procession, I would be there to the end.

  197. Please let us now pray for mother zambia now that your Leader LPM is resting. We promoted the post because we Zambians like promoted hatred. The post is there to encourage hatred. I call on People of God to pray for them so that they are Delivered. M’Meembe please do not divide us if you are a true Zambian becauce if you do…. God will punish you. Remember you are now failing to pay salary. Who knows maybe it is God’s punishment. Pleace repent the Post.

  198. Please repent the Post.

  199. # 297. Barosteland, neither are we going to allow the lozis to rule because u guys yo tribalism spans from dividing zambia into Barosteland
and the other part of zambia to calling other tribe manyukunyuku. so we are not ready for that!!!!!!!!!and for yo info no real bemba has ever ruled zambia before waba pamputi

  200. I feel the Post should tone down a bit. They should not behave as if they are compromised. They might have a point but you see RB is just upholding LPM legacy he used Chitala and VJ a lot during campaigns. Both of these guys were heavily reward during LPM’s rule… We been crying for LPM to be upheld what is the problem now……

This also confirms democracy if far fetched in Africa……

  201. Relax Yahweh is in control.By the way, only the lords prayer was written in the bible for pipo 2 recite and know.We pray from the heart twapapata.

  202. The dying of Levy as sad Man proves that a good number of people in our country are not real…”they easily forget..” has he stated..Pastors watch your words!!! and everyone who is saying good things about LPM God is seeing you…

  203. All you people saying all sorts about Maureen have no idea what she has been through let her be at peace only God can judge her no human. She has been through a rollacoster of emotions she has to look out for her children her family her well being unless you forget that you chaps practice property grabbing regardless of who dies even those that didnt even have a painy on them. She is being a strong woman in public you dodnt know what is happening behind closed doors. She is not a weakling like some of you the whole world is watching is she is # 1 crying on top of her voice you will be the first 1s to say she is acting and looking for sympathy. JUST LET HER BE

  204. “your enemies became my enemies…” too strong and touching indeed even to the one paying the tribute esp if the interpretation can refer to what shall become of the people whom LPM had reconciled before his departure. Maureen should reflect on this statement and make peace with pipo who reconciled with Levy.

  205. RIP levy. Its pity the so called “the church mother bodies” and “civil society groups” who barely few weeks ago called u all sorts of names are now in the lime light with a mountains of accolades. WHAT A SHAME, HYPOCRISSY!

  206. LETS JUST VOTE FOR MMD AND LET THEM CONTINUE BECAUSE THE PARTY HAS EXPERIENCE MUKUTEKA INKOKO NE MBWA. HOWEVER, WE ARE HUMANS WHO CANNOT BE COMPARED TO LIVESTOCKS AND DOGS.
    NOW THE QUESTION IS THAT:
ARE WE GOING TO VOTE FOR MMD AGAIN?
IF THE ANSWER IS YES, WHERE DO WE BELONG?

  207. And that statement”your enemies were my enemies” was uncalled for honestly, apa pena bali missa. So what enemies was she referring to, she just embarrassed herself in front of those heads of state. Why not talk about her life with hubby.

  208. Bane Zambia Should go forward …………Pafwa abantu pashala abantu leaders should not use strong words such as enemy……..Nga bakateka shani……

  209. MAMA MAUREEN MWANAWASA…..may God give you strength in this hard time you are going through.our dear president may you rest in heavenly bliss.you did what you could and thank you so much for every effort you did.know man is perfect you cant please everyone batata thank you for all you did.you will be missed.

  210. LPM, indeed we shall miss u. you were a great man. as for Zambians, let us look forward to a peaceful election. Now, that amos malupenga of the post newspaper which i think is now owned by one former first lady. we all know about his affair with one female minister, whom i dont have to mention coz most pipo know.if u dont know, ask me. I will tell you. his poor wife opted to be posted to serenje to work as a magistrate there because of this shameless man.
How he dare say bad things about rupiah Banda. Ba amos , mutekanye sana. we shall wash your dirty linen in public. I can never buy the Post because it contains mostly rubbish news. I feel for those reporters whom editors feed with crap.

  211. People why not think of Kabinga Pande he seems a credible person and he ahs been with Levy all along and knows his vision and he was the last person to be with the big man.

  212. #306 But saying good things to comfort/genuinely appreciate the good and having been critical of the president about what he did wrong may not always be incompatible. It’s only if you substitute one for the other. There is time to cross swords for good of the Z people and a time to lay down swords and be together like now. But I hear you there are some pastors they call muselela kwakaba in Bemba.

  213. That Miriam (LPM’s eldest daughter)why didn’t she read the bible verse or put the wreath on her father’s grave. If she was trying ukupesha ba Maureen she peshad herself coz that is her father.

  214. #287 Victoria falls,

Thank you for responding to my question. It all makes alot of sense now. Fred M’membe, a self confessed aethist quotes wrong scripture from a wrong bible to advance a wrong cause.

  215. the post is a tabloid newspaper, One learned south african observed that there is no quality newspaper in Zambia. And thats true.

  216. advice to maureen mwanawasa. it is very sad that you have losta husband. Trust in God and look after those children, including mirriam and patrick. You now have more people who dont like you bcoz of your outbursts and general behaviour, My sister , you are no longer first lady and God knows why this had to happen. If i were you, i would lead a public life with my children and pray to God for guidance in this hard time.Avoid the public.do not even show bias towards any mmd candidate. None of them are being faithful to you. they wil all abandon you once they are in power. be careful.

  217. let pray for maureen that god sees her. what leadership what mother carries such foolishness in public! she tried to mourn but is too strong and peharps busy.

  218. If the Post is the paper that dig deeper, why didn’t they dig and find out about the $1.5M withdrawn during Levy’s illness. And if Magande is the man they claim he is , why did he allow it? Isn’t he Mr “Strict” financial something something? He is strict on us the common man but not on themselves. “what is K20bn?”, He said. Sad but I don’t think he has a good heart to be a leader. He is still IMF brainwashed..

  219. IF YOU WANT SALARY INCREAMENTS FOR MINISTERS AND MP’s, PLEASE VOTE FOR ULUPIYA BANDA

IF YOU WANT UNIVERSITY NOT TO BE OPENED PLEASE SUPPORT UMUGANDA NGANDU

IF YOU WANT FAMILY TREE TO CONTINUE, DONT WASTE TIME TO SUPPORT BA SHIKAPWASHA, BA CHITUWO

IF YOU WANT ANOTHER CONSTITUTION REVIEW WASTE OF MONEY PLEASE GO FOR WILLA MUNGOMBA

IF YOU DONT KNOW POLITICS OR WHAT TO DO PLEASE GO FOR KOPLANDE

IF YOU ARE AN HYPOCRITE CHRISTIAN NEEDS POWER DONT HESITATE TO SUPPORT NEVERS MUMBA

IF YOU WANT RAILWAY LINES ON WATER AND SKY, PLEASE SUPPORT KAVINDELE

PLEASE YOU CHOICE IS AT HAND.

  220. Im sure when Maureen said her husband’s enemies became her enemies, Miss Crueller Devil had Sata and Mugabe in mind. But she should realise that keeping grudges is not healthy. Next time its her
who will be rushed to France. She should be able to look back and try and be like her husband, to reconcile with those who she termed as enemies in her speech. May God deliver us and give a good president with a kind hearted wife.

  221. It was a sad and touching moment as ZNBC showed the funeral proceddings. LPM May your soul Finally Rest in PEACE.
Mama Maureen you and the Kids are in our prayer.

  222. Rupiah Bwezani Banda, a celebrated Zambian diplomat and politician, was born on February 13, 1937 in Gwenda, Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe).

He married Hope Mwansa Makulu in 1966 and two have five sons. He was educated at Munali Secondary School, University of Ethiopia, Lund University in Sweden, Wolfson College and Cambridge.

From 1960 to 1964 he was UNIP’s representative in Europe and was named Ambassador to the United Arab Republic in 1965, serving until 1967 when he was moved to USA to serve as Zambia’s Ambassador there for two years.

From 1970-74, Banda was the Executive Chairman of Rural Development Corporation and served as General Manager of National Marketing Board o

I DONT LIKE THE POST NEWSPAPER
    I DONT LIKE MEEMBE
    I DONT LIKE ZAMBIAN AIRWAYS
    I DONT LIKE MAGANDE
    I DONT LIKE MAUREEN
I DONT LIKE THE NCHITO BROTHERS
    I DONT LIKE UNIP
    I DONT LIKE RUPIA BANDA
I DONT LIKE MARRYING GRAND DAUGHTERS
AND FINALLY I DONT LIKE WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW.

  224. I got surprised even because i expected South African Presidnet Thabo Mbeki to appreciate the late on his efforts concerning Zimbambwe’s critics and the like as he was a SADC Chairman, but all in vain. Anyway, only God knows.

  225. Ati he informed his wife on various developmental projects to be done. may be as a campaign gimmick. he was given 7 seven years and he shud have told the owners of the country who put him in power that this is what he intends to do so that we know rather than saying such things now knowing that he wont wake up to defend himself. Bufi molini alebepa, nafulungana.

  226. plz help me…i want to find out why everyone”s top pat is painted Red and Green, while mine comes in Gray…Napapata bwafwilishobu not ukunshuta.Cheers

  227. Guys stop talking about foolish businesses like the POST and others…we are not ready to be ruled by freemanson!!! Hell is waiting for them

  228. What makes people think that the “policies of Zambia” where in levy’s head. people there is a Govt in place just like in any organisation policies are never in the head or a sole property of the “Managing Director”! we should not be bound by people wanting us to believe that unless Mwanawasa’s “stooges” take over then Zambia will somehow grind to a halt!. Zambia will continue. Let everyone execise their political choice, but don’t force a choice down our throats. Kabinga my foot!\

  229. 343. J.J
mbeki is not like zambians e.g maureen,# 343. J.J, dipak, teta mulongoti who speak anything anyhow anywhere, he is objective

  230. MRS MWANAWASA DOESNT’NT GET IT.
    I DONT LIKE CORRUPTION
SETTING UP A FAMILY TREE IS CORRUPTION
ACCEPTING A NOMINATION FROM A CORRUPT KAFUPI IS CORRUPTION
ALLOWING A NOLLE PROSQUI FOR…….YOU ALL KNOW WHO ….. IS CORRUPTION.
ALLOWING KATELE KALUMBA TO GO SERVE IN THAT CAPACITY HE HOLDS IS CORRUPTION.
IT FOLLOWS THEREFORE THAT LEVY WAS STINKING CORRUPT.SEE??????????

  231. #343 Kwata amano boyi. Nbeki gave a speech according to the occasion, it was a funeral and so it wouldn’t have made sense for him to start talking about Zim at the state funeral. Stop thinking like Maureen twapapata. There is time for everything!!!

  232. #343, there are places where such issues are supposed to be talked about. Surely you did not expect the heads of state to start talking about Mugabe. Respect is what was being shown.

  233. God’s Child #348. Yours is coming out grey on your computer so that you dont vote for yourself, to give yourself a thumbs up or down. On other computers your contribution has red and green. I have just given you a thumbs down….for not figuring it out on your own….

  234. It is easy to show appreciation to a spouse because he/she is close. Political leaders are remote and looking after the affairs of so many individuals who only know the leader from TV or newspapers. It is the job of citizens to doubt their leaders and to keep them under scrutiny.

This is the nature of politics and every one who joins politics knows this. S Zamians did not do any thing bad to Levy. He did his job well and Zamians did their job well and the country was able to move. Nobody did wrong. It is the nature of the beast. RIP LPM

  235. I salute you Provoker!, Muwememuweme, I Salute you HURRICANE GUSTAV and all of you who are not blinded by the MMD and the silly strategies. And Oh by the way we have no sympathy for Maureen because of the way she hs conducted herself. Thats not how a Widow behaves, also she has been more quick at advancing her Political ambitions than mourning her husband. I mean surely where have you heard a widow conducting Interviews!

  236. Katele Kalumba stated that a political heavyweight has surfaced in the race to MMD Presidency tomorrow, I stand to be corrected but I have a strong feeling it’s Maureen Kakubo Mwanawasa. Anyone out there who has heard what the MMD meeting slated for 09hrs today transpired? I tell you one will make a Grammy Award winning movie based on our political clowns.

  237. The whole funeral has been made even sadder by the fact that the burial ground was prepared by a FOREIGN (CHINESE) firm. I still cannot understand why the Cabinet thought it was best to use a foreign firm instead of a Zambian one. Future generations will wonder at this. But I can already visualise someone saying that the Zambians at the time(NOW) were not clever enough to form companies. SHAME ON US!!
There can be no economic progress if people do not value and respect their own skills.

  238. MAUREEEN HAS JUST FILED FOR ELECTION AS MMD CANDIDATE. THE UNDECLARED CANDIDATE HAS DECLARED. WHAT NEXT MOTHER ZAMBIA? POST SHAME ON YOU AND YOUR CORRUPT FRIENDS

  239. Strange things never cease to happen in Zambia. Now Maureen has ditched Magande and filed her own nomination for the MMD presidential candidacy – Problem – her standing as a member. Katele’s undeclared candidate is no other than Maureen Mwanawasa.

  240. READ THIS!

“The ruling party has received 17 applications for its presidential nomination, including from Mwanawasa’s predecessor, Frederick Chiluba, who is on trial for corruption. Among the other applicants are Banda, finance minister Ng’andu Magande, health minister Brian Chituwo and home affairs minister Ronnie Shikapwasha, as well as Mwanawasa’s former vice-presidents Nevers Mumba and Enoch Kavindele”

  241. Levy didn’t want the Veep in MMD and he was just forced to have one for the republic becoz the constitution comanded he…this is why he failed Nevers to have Lupando/ Rupiah who could do nothing but just for formality….in the actual sense his wife was the Veep, that it why she feels it’s time for her to take over

  242. Its not true for someone to say Levy Died a sad man, because when he was leaving for Egpty he had a great smile on his face when saying bye to the Zambians which expressed how he felt for his people inside him. An on the second thought, did levy know that he was going to die at that moment for Mollie to claim that he died a sad person, that is only God’s secret. let us just mourn our hubby, father, President in peace and stop thinking on his behalf because we will never be him and we are not God. Levy has gone a happy man because he made peace with all the people he had great differences and MHSRIP. Traditionally the Former First Lady has not even mourned. no more family tree Mollie

  243. YOU SEE HOW EVEIL THIS WOMAN IS. FTJ HAS NOT APPLIED THAT IS A MISTAKE. MAUREEN IS THE ONE WHO HAS APPLIED. THIS IS A SHAME ON HER. ONE WOULD THINK SHE KILLED HER HUSBAND IN ORDER TO TAKE HIS JOB. NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY SATA CAMPAIGNS LIKE THAT. SHAME TO ZAMBIA. WHAT A WAY TO REMEMBER THE SO CALLED GREAT LEADER. HE WAS TAKING ORDERS FROM HIS WIFE. ICHIBUMBA WAS FULL OF HOLES!!

  244. The ruling party has received 17 applications for its presidential nomination, including from Mwanawasa’s predecessor, Frederick Chiluba, who is on trial for corruption. Among the other applicants are Banda, finance minister Ng’andu Magande, health minister Brian Chituwo and home affairs minister Ronnie Shikapwasha, as well as Mwanawasa’s former vice-presidents Nevers Mumba and Enoch Kavindele.

  245. Maureen, shame on you. I wonder what she is really lacking in her life. Is it too much to do, that she stays out of politics and mourn her husband. That bemba song about that woman who’s husband died, then soon after she started goin to bars and the like, reminds me of Molleen. Champesha amano.

  246. Maureen, shame on you. I wonder what she is really lacking in her life. Is it too much to do, that she stays out of politics and mourn her husband. That bemba song about that woman who’s husband died, then soon after she started goin to bars and the like, reminds me of Molleen. Champesha amano. Baba sambika kuli ba Levy, now she thinks she can be our president.

  247. If MMD NEC decide on Maureen, that is their end. Dilema for Post Newspapers will be who to support between Maureen & Magande.

  248. Can people learn to campaign for the candidates they believe in, rather than de-campaign or insult other candidates its like everyone knows whats wrong with a candidate and why they shouldn’t be voted for. Hey all of you please tell us why you think the man you are supporting should be supported and not why the one you hate should be hated more! not fair!.Sometimes you hate a person when you don’t even know why you should hate him/her. We all said the same about LPM in 2001 (He is going to be a puppert, he can’t talk eloquently and all sorts of unmentionables)LPM turned out more different than that. People open your eyes!and try a look at the brighter side of every individual

  249. Wapapusha Lusaka, iwe wemwanakashi, nshakulumbule inshina nalakwabakofye, nabantu bonse baliiishi ukuti iwe walifwiilwa ala ngawalichindikofye twapapata. Tabalashiba nabalumebobe abashile ichitemwiko walalanda palupato ati YOUR ENEMIES WERE MY ENEMIES.

  250. #164. Is it true that Maureen has submitted her application for MMD Presidency? Can someone confirm pliz! Is he the same they refused to declared yesterday as a very formidable person?

  251. His Excellency the Vice President had 30 minutes private talks with the Rwandan President Paul Kageme. Media was not allowed to cover the secret talks. Later after the meeting Kageme advised Zambians to choose a President of their choice.

  252. Levy died a sad man coz you madam Mwanawasa were so greedy and ambitious and failed to heed the advice of KK who noted that Levy was not in very good health. I believe Mwanawasa would have been alive and would have seen all his children grow were it not for opportunistic people like Maureen and others. Now Levy is gone…madam former first lady, may you fade into obscurity from whence you came!

  253. Bemba what do you have against HH, you will regret if you vote for PF , please remember you can fool pipo sometimes but not always. Our time to rule has come, just watch and see

  254. It is incredible that MMD had to run to UNIP to source out their candidate for presidency, if indeed the rumours are true that RB is their choice. Short memories this chaps have.Corruption, wako ni wako, cronynism will come back with a bang. Who would forget these things so fast??

Never say die , UNIP is back through the back door, as soon RB wins the presidential elections the Kaundists will take charge already Dr Kaunda is frequently visiting and calling goivenment house, V for victory we are back

  255. With all that nepostism in Levy’s regime, his death has suddenly made him a hero.we zedians are such interesting fellows. Some are even saying he left Zed a better country than he found it,What do these same people have to say about daily fuel price increases, increasing poverty levels, lack of drugs in hospitals etc.The man did some good things alright but he was far from perfect.

As for the post editor, there is time for everything. If its time for de post&z/airways2go down the deepest grave it dug,so be it! Magande is not the best thing that will happen to zambians mind you he’s behind the hefty salary increments for his selfish being and must have promised to rescue the post once in powr

  256. PIPO LET’S US NOT BY PASS FACTS WHEN DID RUPIAH BANDA BECAME A DEMOCRAT… THESE GUYS WERE JUST PUSHED OUT OF POWER BY THE MMD THIS DOESN’T MEAN THEY STOP BELIEVING IN THEIR IN ONE PARTY STATE…(DICTATORSHIP)..LETS US LOOK BEYOND WHAT WE CAN SEE

  257. we don’t know what to think of the MMD,how can all these compete against one post?don’t they trust each other?they are confusing us ,please help.

  258. #1 just use itunes to play phoenix/qfm at coppernet. When you click the link some file called ‘listen.pls’, make sure you save it to somewhere like your desktop. Then right click and select open with itunes and you will have it saved onto your itunes and it will open. If you do it this way you won’t have to waste time going to coppernet just open itunes and click away. bewear though at this time of day teh traffic is ridiculous

  259. The Post is afraid of something. The family tree is still occupying the important posts. What is your worry? Judas Iscariot led to death of Jesus. RB did not kill LPM. LPM is dead (MHSRIP) due to natural causes and anybody can take his place as President. He did not own the country. The Post and Maureen do not own the country either. Let the people decide without the insults of the Post

  260. Please, stop misleading other people. If you dont have facts try the Post newspaper where lies are published and not LT. Or else I will start censoring your coments

  261. The Maureen story so far is rubbish but there will be a press brief later in the afternoon i think from both MMD and Government relating to RB and hopefully all other issues

  262. Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger

  263. #405
chachine we are backwards even in electronic media that was yesterdays news ba bigy OF all the constructive issues raised you pick on that??

  264. Z-Chick do you know what they mean when they say he left Zambia a better place? they actually mean to say he left them better than he found them. MMD talk has nothing to do with Ordinary people, Whatever people thinkMMD is not for the masses they are in it for themselves. Fred Mmeembe is only trying to salvage the already introuble Zambian Airways. You know at this point anyone who has gone to school can rule Zambia! we should not be fooled by cheap talk of legacies If Levy woke up my God! he too would be surprised. He did his part let do ours but not through stooges like RB or Magande

  265. interesting things happenin in zambia. former first lady filing her nomination papers? and what kind of speech did his daughter give?

  266. It’s hard to describe what “The Post” has become. We need to mourn them as well. MMD’s problems are theirs and we can only watch……

Since when did the post become such shameless, blasphenous character assassins with zero objectivity? i am shocked. Is RB the only one standing with Magande by the way?

Even those of us who think magande may be the man for MMD are utterly disgusted. We will think twice before we spend 3pin on your sleazy newspaper!

  267. #412 Ama Elders
I understand when you refer to Magande as a Stooge but on RB i would like you to clarify if you dont mind. Because i am of the opinion that most politicians are stooges at the end of the day it just depends for what reason other are for the greater good of a nation while as it seems Magande is for personal and other business interests. There is always something bigger than the individual in politics LMP was stooge of developement hence his links with the waste where good and we didnt like it.FTJ was a stooge to his corrupt ways by which his Gov was being run hence the brown envelops ruled. As for KK he just lost direction because like LMP he thought no one appriciated what

  268. WHAT HAS REALLY GONE WRONG IN MAUREENS HEAD, SURELY YOUR HUSBAND IS BARELY A WEEK IN THE GRAVE AND YOU ANNOUNCE YOUR INTENTIONS TO REPLACE HIM, I GUESS I WOULD NOT BE WRONG IF I SAID YOU HAD SOME THING TO DO WITH HIS DEATH. COME ON MAUREEN, GO HOME BAKAYE KUPYANIKA.

  269. What has happened to Membe? Has he been compromised because of Zambian airways or is he aspiring to be the next boyfriend to Maureen?

  270. Its very obvious why the post is being very negative towards RB.Amos Malupenga is going out with Sylvia Masebo and Fred Mmembe is gay (homosexual) according to very liable close quarters of his inner circle. Thats why he has engaged himself in his marriage of convienience

  271. cont…417
he had done for this country hence his outburst of “STUPID I DIOTS”
i dont want to add more to KK coz if you dont know it the man is well known all over the world some people still thought he was still president. If he had been behind bars He could have been level pegging with Madeba.
Politics is a dirty game those that have thought its only about saving the people have died just look at what happened to J F K and others.

  272. RB is a disgrace.MMD you are going to fail if you let this man go for election. He’s got NO substance to lead ZED.Look at people parading behind him it tell everyone how rotten his head Is.Thats why he goes for teenager”’HE FAILS TO STAND HIS GROUND ON WOMEN OF HIS AGE,Can he stand pressure? pliz we are not in the laboratory.

  273. I take all these are rumour mongering going round the blog, coz official report has been issued to confirm that MAUREEN MWANAWASA (The first widow) has filed in for nomination as MMD Presidential Candidate. True for sure false rumours spread faster than bush fires. Let’s wait for tomorrow or if possible this evening to get some official stand point.

  274. Thanks CIA, you rock! You may just want to look at what is or who driving the RB Agenda? Did Levey pick RB from active politics? hell no! the man was at his farm with his 20 something chick. RB has no persuasion but its the chaps behind him that worries me. The guy has remained mute over the salary increament Silence is agreement!. These two teams are preaching continuity Coz they know what they will miss when they leave the Govt. RB is the cover page of the Chitala, Teta and most worrying VJ’s. To me RB is a political light weight. No wonder Levy chose him coz the guy was no a challenge. We need political Stamina no sell outs. With Due respect to RB, he is simply not the best

  275. I totaly agree with #134. Betrayal was the most trencherous thing Levy was going to do if he covered the corruption and plunder of national resources the Chiluba regime did, imagine cheating the 13 million plus people compared one man.
Some of you making contribtions on this website are in the developed world i.e. USA,the entire Europe. Imagine if those fellows were busy pocketing national resources all these past years, those hytec trains and sky scrappers were going to be biult, just to mention afew.
The only advise to Maureen is that she shuould stay away from politics, her late husband has done us proud as a young democracy and as growing economics.

  276. Live broadcast of Press briefing by Tetamashimba on 14:15 Radio QFM at 14:15 Zambian time, Internet access through Coppernet available.

  277. Maureen laments that noone believed LPM, well then there must have been something very wrong with him. Even I didnt believe him!

  278. It truly is a shame if maureen has filed in as MMD presidential candidate. The comfort is that its only the MMD and that would be the end of it.A party full of cadres rather than people who reason. Big shame.

  279. Teta says the Nec has resolved for RB to stand but they will consider tomorows meeting and that they will be going what the provinces have said

  280. Levy`s pass on is a great loss to Zambians & the Mwanawasas.God bless the Mwanawasa family & confort them during this trying moment. MHRIEP

  281. Mmembe,
I am a qualified Accountant. Employ me as MD for either The Post or Zambian Airways.
When my time is up, I will anoint someone of my choice as incoming MD. That your reasoning and The Post’s too.

  282. Can anyone share what Teta is talking but pa QFM,,seemingly shooting down Magande,,,Ba Mwanawasa mwatusha muma PROBLEMS,,internal wrangles sure!!!!shame,,MMD can you be mature for once!!

  283. He says the person to stand (RB) does not mean he will be party president as there will be a conversion where they can make a decision on the party president. If NEC was to automatically select RB there would be unity in the party and that peopel in provinces should believe there members as the nec will follow there wishes.

  284. Zambians, let us bring back Super Ken from retirement to stir this country forward for the remaining three years as we look for the next leader. We need wisdom and guidence now.

  285. Actually he is not shooting down Magande though he has had a go at Maureen that she should go back to the farm and produce food on Magande will the so called development issues which he claims has responsibility for has been credited to the late president and not a single carbinate minister as is being stated by Magande camp and the aspirant should have a constitucy where votes are automatic and he has no constituancy.

  286. Do you know that Levy’s body decomposed go to thepicturemonger.blogspot.com thats where picture of his body and funeral are before he decomposed and after.

  287. It better not be Maureen Mwanawasa who is the undeclared candidate otherwise we people will start saying she killed her Husband, the President of Zambia so that she takes over as President of Zambia. Please we don’t want mashamos anymore. We can’t have a widow as the President of Zambia with LPM(MHSRIP) Ghost still fresh in State House.

  288. Ba Maureen iam told you submitted application to stand as President. Its a shame this shows you had a hand in the death of your beloved husband. What are we going to tell our chidren. Stop it. Mipamba. First loshya abalume bobe.
Ba Post you have now thrown out the interest of Zambians. You have become personnal. If you Mmembe has something personnal against RB use other avenues not the paper. Thank you.

  289. MHSRIP.My advice to Mollie
    1.Stay out of politics
    2.Keep your mouth shut
    3.Ditch Darllington
4.Ditch the Post and remember do not throw stones just yet -you are still in a glass house.

  290. zambians you are BIG,I LOVE THE WAY YOU CONDUCT YOURSELVES IN DIFFICULT TIMES LIKE THIS ONE,I THANK GOD THAT HE HEARS ALL OUR PRAYERS,THE PRESIDENT DIDNOT DIE A SICK PERSON,NO…GOD HEARED AND HE DIED HEALED,MAY GOD CONTINUE TO SHOWER US WITH MUCH BLESSINGS.

  291. He states that 8 provinces have shown support for RB. He say statistically country wide RB stands a better chance compared to Magande because even his own province wont vote for him. The only letter left by LMP was that RB should continue as president until he comes back and there is no other will. He also states that Magande is good as finance minister and not president. Those standing agaist RB did they deliver where they come from eg pande Delivered in his constituency. The nomination are tomorrow LMP asked RB to bring E/Pro to MMD

  292. LPM appointed RB as his trusted friend, identify leaders by what they do ati people are afriad that RB will remove them from office once elected

  293. CIA,

How long is the speech, TETA must be boring the nation..In a nutshell what has the guy really said? Could you kindly paraphrase what he has said in one sentence….

  294. We thank God for the peace in Zambia. Our prayer is that it prevails. May God raise a leader of integrity come next elections.

  295. Levy may your soul rest in peace
I hav never seen a zambian widow behaving like the way ba maureen behaved during her husbands funeral.she’s been making headines in the news during her husband’s funeral.Regarddless of her being the first lady, she was supposed to follow the zambian traditional rules. she shud have kept quiet until after burying her husband.SHE SHUD GO AND SEE ALANGIZI AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

  296. He says if there was a person from anyother province be it northern southern etc he would still be doing the same thing he is doign as long as they where VP. He say it will be very easy to canpaing fot RB because they wont even have to use plans like they would have to for other candidates. Why should MMD leaders with RB with a foot in state house be removed do to others as you like them to do to you.

  297. KM….
Ala ba Maureen niba strong widow. I was spooked 2 c her nenkokolo ku burial…most widows w’d have lost strength 2 put on such. And she was so strong…ukwikatilila abana….indeed, she mourned with “dignity and courage”

  298. Ok he is still talking to sum up
He says RB should be given the chance he has managed well in this period and all should rally behind him. Those that know politics well in NEC know how to win and loose power and they will vote RB tomorrow and that there are fears that RB will do something to the lates family but this is not true coz he will reconcile all aprties involved.RB brought eastern province Magande has no constituency and hence cannot take the stage now. Others should stand 2011.Teta says he is missunderstood as a politician.

Ba LT am trying to up date people ya

  299. He says look at the bigger picture and those people that have no agenda. He also had a go at the post for belittling RB and well not that he mentioned tthem by name but if they continued in this manner do not expect to still be smilling. They will reconcile and make up with all those that are insulting RB should they win.
Awe mwe the speech is going on and on ….

  300. Teta says he is very confident that RB will be endorsed by NEC tomorrow as he is the only right man who can take over from the late LPM. He says he wonders why some people are against the idea of picking on RB as the candidate. He has also refuted claims that those people rallying behind RB have been bought and that some where lodging at Chrismar Hotel. According to Teta, RB is the greatest among the 18 who have submitted their applications.

  301. As MMD wrangles deepen, the opposition would have done their home work and seal all areas MMD stands a chance, but it’s a pity we have no credible and sound opposition political party to point at. You can imagine how easy it would have been for the opposition to clinch the highest seat if they were organised.

  302. Finaly he is finished he also raised one important issue that while the body of the late president was in the other room there was some people in the next room campaigning etc…Also the issue of campaigning using the media to insult each other should not be allowed
You should hear full details of it on the news

  303. He also gave an example that Mbeki was not really Mandelas choice the people refused the person Mandela choose because they wanted Mbeki

  304. For those of you that really want to see some pics, if it helps google Danny Pule and scroll down to the lil templets on the left, there are a number of pictures that will pop up when you click on a certain name e.g Maureen and children or Mugabe and Chiluba etc… Good luck…

  305. People please Levy did not die a sad man as stated it should have been said that he died not knowing how much we Zambians apprecite his rule.

  306. Levy died a sad man because of his wife.she was caught red handed in egypt thats why he collapsed. Why do you think mirriam refused to lay the wreaths together with her stop mum? learn to read in between the lines. Dont be cheated by a moveing tribute.

  307. This country is not a monarchy where a son or close relative succeeds the monarch, neither is it a farm or chattel for an individual to bequeath to a favourite child or relative. The post has surely become irrelevant to this country. This blind hatred for RB will boomerang on them and their minion.

  308. This is what Maureen said: “Levy died a sad man thinking that Zambians did not appreciate his work as head of state, but to me, you died an accomplished man”.

  309. Our Father in Heaven will not take Zambia where His anointing will not protect us. I believe God our Maker will make a way for us who love Zambia. We only have our one Zambia, some of you may have dual citizenship if hell broke loose (God forbid) you will run back to your countries of origin. An indigenous Zambian will be on the knees to ask God to crash the Gustav that wants to rise in Zambia.

  310. Maureen, the post and company should not start telling us to vote for who LPM wanted. LPM was intitled to his own wish of his successer. Let the wish of the nation prevail. Period.

  311. #482. That’s true some chaps r in the habit of alarming the nation with unfounded rumours. Where u even there in Egypt to start saying Maureen slept with Darlington hence fueling Levy’s sudden illness?

  312. That President Mwanawasa in his last cabinet meeting stated that he wanted a younger leader than himself to succeed him. This ‘disqualifies’ Banda 71yrs and Magande 61yrs against Mwanawasa’s wishes. Mwanawasa was 59years.

  313. Zues you have a point proponents of Succession should realise that its possible Levy never even picked a successor and that Maureen and Magande (The business partners) just made it up, I mean we can’t prove anything not that its even worth proving anyway!

  314. It is rumoured that in the event that MMD does not pick Banda as a candidate, UNIP or a new party will adopt him to ensure eastern province’s realistic chance at the presidency is sustained

  315. Ba Eddy, what overwelming qualities, you mean his campaign in Chilanga, or the Un-accounted for Funds at Ministry Of Finance or the fact that he thinks K20biliion is nothing topay themselves hefty perks while the Zambians wallow in pure poverty. Twebeni limbi mulyabonse!
    Anyway its your democratic right!

  316. Dear former first lady,
Please keep away from politics in order to allow yourself to mourn in private. Now that your great husband is gone, you have to watch yourself and look after yourself to self guide your intergrity.
Do not over rate yourself that you can decide who becomes the next president, you can’t. You will just cause harm to yourself and your family.
    God bless U

  317. Now i am begining to think levy died the very day he was air lifted to france. Maureen mourned and may be thats why she has been extraordinarily strong as though te mukamfwilwa. remember mike rose up to tell sata that he cant go to paris. bishop mpombo said no to the pictures, mambo said no to revealing the medical bill. so this could have been the time they were embalming him for the rigorous tour the body made around zambia.

  318. plse weight yo words b4 coming from yo mouth!avoid pre-judgmental mind.compare the death of Levy and Jesus, who died a sad man for sake of other?zams

  319. Sad … from Maureen…. may levy’s soul rest in peace. But then again, Is it appropriate for Maureen to go for Presidency if she really cared…… Is it all pretence! Did this woman really care???Somebody help me here.

  320. #502, i totally agree with you. the man could have died just about that time. Logically, maureen underwent phycological therapies and all for her to remain strong and behave the way she has otherwise she would have broken down during the funeral and the parading of the corpse.

  321. # 504, sorry the reason why i did it was to tell zedian coz tamumfwa if someone says a thing just once. I gat lots of staff to debate on and post. Read my other blogs and you wont find any thing repeatedly pasted on all the flash items. I am just speaking my mind ok. The other thing you can do is just ignore the blog as i also ignore blogs that are pasted on many news items. Just read one of them and dont bother to read all but one and the same issue.

  322. Eisntein, I really feel bad about what you have said about LPM. Even if you hated the Late President, that is not the way to talk, its better to keep quite if you dont anything constructive to insteady of just condemning so that you can be seen as a good writter. Please let us give credit where its due, even if u hated LPM at least he did alot of things. Cant it just sink in your head why LPM had been picking his Vice’s from outside? He was sorrounded by selfish people that did not have the country’s interest at heart. Pliz bane tuletontonkanya b4 opening akanwa. May Levy’s Soul Rest in Peace while you continue quarreling pafyapachalo instead of focusing on God.

  323. #356-Thanx dear u realy helped me,indeed u r a Vision career.

As 4 u #357-U say it best wen u say nothig at all.

Levy may have died a sad man ,but his legacy leaves on.

  324. kindly mind yo language, maureen.compare the death of Levy and Jesus, who between the two died a sad man for the salvation of mankind?how is the relationship between yourself and mirriam ?be humble and God will exalt u.no wonder remarriage is not good at all.

  325. Sad man indeed, how can a sick man cling to power, he would have given way to health people to rule.

Being President is not for the sick, it is very stressfull. No wonder the cabbege went a sad man.

Sata must learn a lesson from this. The Presidence is not for people with a sick heart.HH rules.

  326. Plot One does not bring happeness. Levy was human first,a bunch of relatives died while at PO. Maureen was cheating on Levy. This will make man sad, very sad

  327. If a serious minded President takes over Fred Meembe of The Post will end up in Prison like the Canadian Press Mogul, Ba Fred has capitalised on the Zambian gullability by taking in everything he says even commenting on cases before courts of law with impunity worse more insulting. We know that had your Uncle A.Wina become President you were promised to be the first Information Minister but this was not to be hence your insults and worped editorials – WHAT A SHAM

  328. Who do you expect RB to speak against salary increments when he has been so mute about it. RB, VJ, Christone Tembo and Findlay are Mandrax drug traffickers! Please dont vote for them, they are worse than Kafupi. Nalikwanda is calling and will be able to accomodate all Zambians. Think wisely!

  329. RB has a small brain, he only promised ministers with heavy salary increment forgeting that its the poor civil servants who vote. Friendly advice : Your employer RB are the poor and the poor civil servants.

  330. the man is dead.lets forget and move on.firstly, lets have a new taskforce that will be selective and only investigate the last 7 years.its only fair right.lol.lpm’s administration was the biggest joke to this country

  331. Ok i didnt know that Amos can can go out with masebo. Why didnt he put her picture front page everyday

  332. Atleast he died a sad man, for many Zambians, 80% of them are living sad in povert. I wish they could live happy then die sad like Levy and our politicians. Levy died sad because he thought of what he was going to leave behind and just that Presidential power, office and money could not keep him.

  333. He died a sad man coz you yourself Moureen pushed him to his death by your record hunger for power. Shame on you. You even had teh guts to walk out on the mopurners who left the comfort of their countries just come and pay their last respect for a guarantee and couragers LPM and mourn with you as well. All you could to was embrace your biological daughters as if they are the first and only opharns. I hope you wont groom them to take after you. The least you can do for our dear LPM (MHSRIP)is to inculcate good morals in his dear children and unite the entire familly.

  334. In death we tend to respect even rogues. That’s only human. Levy died a sad man coz he didn’t complete his life time project for the ‘Family Tree’ or the ‘legacy’. Besides, this same Levy never won an election fairly and squarely. He forced himself to power and we all know what that can do….

  335. Indeed RIP LPM,@Maureen u r rite u knw y LPM died a sad man?Becoz u were not found with him wen he nided u the most but bizy bizy wth D.Mwape

  336. IWE CHI MAUREEN WHAT HAPPENS TO MMCI NOW THAT YOU ARE BEING EVICTED FROM PLOT 1?
WILL IT DIE A NATURAL DEATH LIKE HOPE FOUNDATION?

AND THE SO CALLED GRAND DAUGHTER(WIFE) OF RB WHAT ARE U GONA SHOW OFF WITH TO THE PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA

  337. I AGREE WITH YOU MY FRIEND HAMABISI, THE MONEY WILL ACTUALLY GO UNCLAIMED. SHE WILL JUST CHEW THE MONEY MEANT FOR THE SO CALLED MMC AND FORGET

  338. Maureen was pursuing her MBA program in France wilst the hubby was in a coma. Did she anticipate the Levy was gonna be in a coma for more than a year? Shame on Maureen

  339. Ba VJ MWANGA, What legacy will you leave behind? When you show up in election times, shivas grip pipo, WHY. Are you able to prove pipo wrong? Please help some of us innocent Zambians.

  340. Mwanawasa was a product of corruption. He leaves behind a legacy of nepotism, corruption and fraudulent elections. No wonder he died a sad man!!

  341. Died a sad man because it’s you molin who made him sad. How do you low yourself by sleeping with another man, and you thot you were the two of you. Shame on you! The FLIES saw you and caught you red-handed. Men out there, who would celebrate seeing his wife battling it out with another man? Who on this earth? Even male dogs fight over a female dog. Molin, I wanted to marry one of your dotas but I am giving it a second thot. Batata LPM, Rest in enternal peace and do not even 4give molin in your eternal sleep!!

  342. and no one will that mwansa, we should only hope have someone who is intelligent enough to develop our poor country zambia.

  343. Look at it another way. We will all die, we have lost our beloved ones, our parents, siblings and very close people. We Africans should learn to move forward. Moreen has her own sins she has committed with one Darlington, now enjoying the fruits in Europe. Lets look forward. One stereotype of Africans, by whites, is that we are ’emotionally incompetent’, crying over spilt milk. Most impressive of the funeral ceremonies was the French send off; short, flawless, orderly. Who recorded that? Back home we had soldiers in all sorts of attire, show of force, against who?

  344. levy’s death made me believe that one can never buy life. the state he was in knowing his govt they would have bought whatever it would have been just to keep him breathing, but one thing for sure is that our lives, are in the hands of the creator, the almighty, glory be to Him .to the family stay blessed

  345. THE TITLE OF THE STORY IS A BIT MISLEADING. I THOUGHT SHE WAS GOING TO EXPLAIN HOW HE DIED A SAD MAN. BUT I THINK SHE’S TALKING MORE ABOUT HIS DEDICATION TO WORK RATHER THAN DYING A SAD MAN-I DONT KNOW!

  346. Ba Levy we shall miss u big time. plse let us learn from this experience that dealth can come any time, so prepare for it no matter who u are and what u have God will ask u to account for time u spent on this dirt earth. be prayful people.

    remain blessed.

  347. “This day is your 60th birthday and our 20th marriage anniversary. We had agreed on a big combined celebration.”

In a way it was a BIG COMBINED CELEBRATION…after all!!!! Though not in a way expected…Be of Good Courage…. May you find Peace in God Alone…

  348. When i think of Mwanawasa’s death it really touches my soul and it beings sorrow and pain in me. I really loved him so much, his death came a shock to mother Zambia. I will never forget ichibumba, he was an inspiration to me.

  349. So what if he dies a sad man? we have lost a lot of important people, including my Grand father, but am not complaining.

So what can you tell me chi maureen? just keep quiet if you ‘ve got noting to say. Was Mwanawasa the owner of Zambia? That was just an opportunity accorded to him. So stop making noise.

Please LT remove this nonses on the Popular list, it is now outdated

  350. Thanks for the auspicious writeup. It actually was once a entertainment account it. Look complicated to far added agreeable from you! By the way, how could we keep up a correspondence?
