Identify yourself, Mulongoti tells the undisclosed candidate

The MMD’s chairperson for elections has demanded that the undisclosed presidential candidate be revealed to the other candidates eyeing the presidency.

Mike Mulongoti says the party constitution has no provisions for those who apply in an undisclosed manner.

He says this is because all party activities are done transparently.

Party National Secretary, Katele Kalumba, said, Wednesday 17 members including one undisclosed candidate have so far applied.

Dr. Kalumba said the undeclared candidate has had their membership status undisclosed until now.

He refused to name the undeclared candidate but described the person as a formidable force.

The MMD National Executive Committee is meeting, Friday to elect a candidate for the forthcoming presidential by-election.

    Anyway, the electrorate is very diverse, and the way we look at issues is a big variation.

    other staff may just be formality. Sata only explains the tax reduction, how he will get funds he does not explain. So whether it is in his manifesto or not we will not mind. We will get what he speaks out, because from the abundancy of the heart the mounth speak. Other staff is just on paper, but he believes only in tax reduction. If he has something else in his manifesto let him explain, we will listen and judge it.

  83. I dont know how the MMD operates ,but I’m wondering why there should be an undisclosed candidate when the closing date has elapsed and all nominations have been received? Mulongoti is right in demanding to know who this candidate is, but I doubt if its a requirement that all candidates be disclosed by the National Secretary.

    Most of the candidates who’ve announced their desire to contest the MMD nomination have either done so in person or through their campaign managers,so the undisclosed candidate bears the responsibilty to follow suit too.

    Mulongoti should just start campaining for his preferred candiadte worrying unnecessarily about the “ghost candidate” wont help matters.

  84. Let us be objective. The mounting confusion in the MMD over the issue of succession is an indication of Levy’s failure as a leader. Competent leaders do their homework and do not leave behind such confusion. If people were given jobs on merit, you would not have this level of confusion and opportunism among leaders.
