Sata challenges RB

Share

Michael Sata has challenged Vice-President Banda to state publicly if he had officially resigned from UNIP. He said MMD had shown a lack of confidence in its party members by adopting Vice-President Banda. Mr. Sata  was speaking on Sky FM Radio in Monze yesterday.

He said Vice-President Banda has surrounded himself with all sorts of questionable characters. Sata said there were strong signs of regionalism and opportunism in Vice-President Banda’s camp. “Rupiah was born in Southern Rhodesia. He’s not brave enough. He’s never come out in the open to say he has come out of UNIP. President Mwanawasa once said that Professor (Clive) Chirwa should start from the branch; which branch is he, Vice-President Banda coming from? If he is elected President, Zambia will go back 360 degrees backwards,” Sata said.

Mr. Sata said he had a proven track record in public service as opposed to Vice-President Banda who served in several government positions but with nothing to show for it. Sata said recently, Vice-President Banda’s Cabinet approved hefty salary and allowance increments for constitutional office holders and senior government officials.

“When he was at NAMBOARD, he never employed anybody except people from Chipata. Rupiah Banda is a known tribalist and his tribalism is so cheap because he even discriminated against the people from Katete, Nyimba and Petauke. As far as he is concerned, they are supposed to be led,” Sata said.

He urged Vice-President Banda not to deceive himself into thinking that he would build on president Mwanawasa’s programmes because he was nowhere close to the late president.

He also said political parties and individuals who were questioning his health status were just scared of him.

“Rupiah Banda is older than me. I’m challenging all the political party presidents that we go and test for three things, HIV, Kaposi Sarcoma and let them examine our hearts,” said Sata.

Sata also said Lusaka lawyer, Dr Rodger Chongwe, was supporting Vice-President Banda’s presidential candidature on tribal grounds.

“Comrade Rodger Chongwe is trying to use tribalism thinking that if he comes in the open to support Rupiah Banda and when Rupiah Banda is elected, he is going to get his (Chongwe’s) US $2.5 million but that should not be our preoccupation,” said Sata.
He said former president Frederick Chiluba and president Mwanawasa refused to pay Dr Chongwe the US $2.5 million which he was claiming from the government after being shot in Kabwe on grounds that the judgment was obtained in a foreign country and the Zambian government had not been given an opportunity to defend itself.

Mr. Sata begins his campaign trail with a rally in Kafue this Thursday 11th September at 14:00hrs.
On Friday 12th September, Mr Sata will hold a rally in Chilanga, Lusaka at 14:00hrs.

  1. There is nothing constructive Sata is saying in this article.Let him start addressing issues development and national matters,we are behind time,is being born in southern Rhodesia an issue?

  2. HH for President Sata for vice President coz if you vote for Sata to go in state house there will be another bye- election but he is a hard worker to build a good and happy zed….Go…. HH and Sata.

  3. Ba Sata we are with you, this is your time to make it You have the ountry at heart. Give it your all.You have my support. its about time things changed for the better. The world is developing and we are alwas behind. Do you know how that hurts. Give s a chance to smile by improving thins. Butfirst find your way to plot 1.

  4. This old skinbag talks disconnectedly, jumping from one issue to another. There is no flow to his discussions!U stinking nicotinebag 360degrees means we come back to same place!not better off not worse off!Kaponya u will never go to plot1 to embarras n bring chaos in Zambia!

  5. Sata just likes saying the things people want to hear. But you’ve gatta hand it to him; the guy really knows how to use people for his own selfish goals. I have listened to the man several times and apart from being a people-pleasing speaker, he never says anything sensible to write home about; he goes on and on and on mixing up unrelated topic. Makes one wonder how his brain works like.

  6. WE DONT NEED MYOPIC CLOWNS LIKE No.3 WHO FAIL TO BE OBJECTIVE. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE FOOL IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHO U LIKE OR DONT LIKE. IT ABOUT WHO CAN DELIVER.

  7. Ba #2-CHOMA1 be constructive when critisizing important issuess..your not liking the man doesnt mean whatever he say does not add any value to the nation… U mean you are so dull not to get any sense from what the man has said…
VIVA SATA, VIVA HH….Deliver us from evil

  8. We are at a point were should not look at people but at issues. Lets give Sata a chance, he does have a point we just have to trust him. Other than him, i dont see anyone else. PF/UPND join hands you will make it.

  9. SATA and his trash talk as usual.

I must say I am very impressed with RB’s composure through all these onslaughts from the Post, HH and SATA…not once has he responded to any of them…it takes a great man to show such restraint.

    Enough of this SATA nonsense…

    Zambia deserves better!

  10. @ #2, YES been born in Southern Rhodesia is an issue becoz tht man is a foreigner.By the way wats the current name 4da same Rhodesia?

  11. Let’s deal with matters of polcy, I support the merger of PF and UPND. careless talk by Sata will only make him lose crediblity. He should talk of what improvements he hopes to bring to the nation.

  12. Michael must sit his old goods down and start on his campaign instead of these smear campaigns about a man who basically minds his own business. Tribalism is not as serious as some people make it out to be! Eish, what we should worry about is NEPOTISM!

  13. 15 CAN SURELY TRASH NO WONDER GOVT IS FULL OF FOSSILS. A GUY RETIRES TO FARMING ,FAILS TO PAY HIS WORKERS TERMINAL BENEFITS AND IS CALLED BACK TO BE VICE PRESIDENT AND NOW HE HAS A VISION AS REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT ARE WE JOKERS?

  14. #12 sorry but all I saw in that article were mere accusations and not facts,my countryman being born in Zimbabwe isnt an issue?where was kaunda born?let us not sink so low.I have great respect for Mr Sata.He was talking of HIV and so what?are we suppoesed to start discriminating against HIV people

  15. First, Mr. Sata says RB is born in Southern Rhodesia, then he says he is tribalist, which one is it? Has RB attacked anyone, insulted anyone, or personalised political issues that matter? And yet the masses are screaming Viva Sata!! When a man is silent, it doesn’t mean he is stupid or cowardly, he is being wise and choosing the words that come out of his mouth wisely. When people start personalising issues, you know they are weak and are afraid.

  16. No15. Its good that u know that Zambia deserves better. I have been following your comments on the PF president and its clear that you harbour a natural hatred Abhorrence for the old man. In this world we have introverts and extroverts. Sata is a proper sanguin, a true example of an extrovert. RB on the other hand is the opposite of Sata no wonder he appears calm and collected. The bad thing is that we don’t know for sure if the man has any defence at all for whatever has been said against him. One thing I know is that all the three probable candidates we have have never been consistent. Its the nature of a politician but we as voters should be beyond such petty issues.

  17. choma 1, you are right. These clumsy utterances are what are going to cost PF-UPND. And this politics of viloence just shows how far we should leave primitive tactics, with Maybins comments of sorting people out. Zambia does not need a bunch of anarchists. Let’s look at Congo and our brothers in Zim who were killing each other. Zabia’s too good for that. This is not the ghetto, we aremature enough to converse rather than speaking through pangas, machetes and violence.

  19. Yebo sata, some people complained of your age,but what about RB and it’s true RB is UNIP.and why is that MMD is always settling for an outsider as their candidate, this means that there is leadership crisis in MMD.How can we vote MMMD party which as no quality leaders, let’s be serious people, just help me count how many MMD members with high calibre.

  20. McCain was not born in US and yet he is standing in US. Both Sata and RB themselves were not born in Zambia as Zambia was not a nation then. What is wrong with us and this culture of hating foriegns? We are too petty and should stop this stupidity. The real issues that should be addressed in this election are: unemployment and underemployment, Doctors and the provision of quality health, Agriculture and our defunct NCZ, Fuel disruption and electricity, water cuts in Lsk

  21. mr. sata is talking nonsense, let him concentrate on his campaigns and lose peacefully. he has run out of campaign words and if so , let him borrow some good words from his comrades. Sata is known by his endless criticism and he will never rule this country. He has never supported someone genuinely or criticized anyone over genuine reason, he always does that out of his foolish, stupidness selfish desire. So stupid Sata shut up , you are irritating.

  22. Those shooting PF,have you looked at the successes of each presidential aspirants?Give me proof that Sata cant develop Zed.Among the 3 only Sata can safely say he has contributed positively to the development of Zed.HH sold the mines has he told you how much he made when he wronly advised the Chiluba government.VIVA PF.

  23. No 28,i know you, your days are numbered on this earth with your bad language,SATA has not insulted you, but what has made you so stuborn, you deserve not to be on this land, it’s your choice you are welcome.your mouth has brought misseries to your life.

    Signed: PF SECURITY WING.

  24. no 28 you are shallow minded and dull.you have no constructive contribution to this forum so just pack your cadre mentality.

  25. Mwine M.

It is not hatred, you will note that all of my postings are based on pure documented facts pertaining to who MCS really is…this is what my concern for Zambia is based on.

If we value democracy, development, peace and unity then SATA is definitely not our saviour.

I challenge you to do a subjective background search on MCS’s political life and ask yourself whether it would be prudent to have the full executive powers of the President vest in the hands of a man who has, on numerous occassions, hired mobs to intimidate and assault those with divergent views. Can such a man, whose policy flip flops from day to day, be trust to dictate our foreign policy?
    Facts not emotion!

  26. Stop all issues of tribalism and descrimination. The leader of zambia has already been chosen by God, just wait for the day.

  27. Ba sata you are the man. We want you to be the next CEO of Zambia. Work hard on your campaign in all the provinces of Zed. We want you to win with 51% of the valid votes cast on that day, if El is willing.

  28. It is Africa we are talking about not so? Even I can be president. All I would need would be the police, Army, civil srvice and the Media.

  29. IS IT POSSIBLE FOR PF AND UPND TO UNITE AND DISLODGE MMD FROM THE PRESIDENCY? THIS IS THE ONLY WAY THAT RB WILL LOSE. HE IS NOT STUPID- HE HAS ALL THE STATE MACHINERY AT HIS DISPOSAL. DAN KALALE , JUSTICE MUMBA ALL REPORT TO HIM IN REAL TERMS- HOW DO YOU EXPECT THEM TO BITE THE FINGER THAT FEEDS THEM!!IN 1991 KK LOST ONLY BECAUSE THE OPPOSITION FORMED ONE STRONG FRONT THAT CUT ACROSS TRIBAL LINES. TO DAY I SEE TRIBALISM EVEN AMONGS THE LEARNED PEOPLE. PEOPLE, AS LONG AS HH AND SATA DONT FORM ONE FRONT , THE MMD WILL CONTINUE WITH ITS OWN ( NOT LEVY’S!!) LEGACY OF PLUNDER.

  30. RB do not listern to the last kicks of the dyiny horse. This man is finished not even FTJ corrupt as he was could not entrust him with the top job ,so why should pipo in Lundazi trust this thug?Viva RB.

  31. Let not Sata start talking about people and the opposition. We want him to tell us and convince us that he is going to bring development and is well capable of taking Zambia to higher and greater standards.

Sata here I vote for you once again!!!!!!!!!

  32. A bird at hand is better than two in the bush. Voting for Sata is like throwing a wild political card.. at least we know the MMD is a devil but we don’t know what kind of devil PF and Sata would be… vote wisely. Vote RB or HH.

  33. Please people, help me here. I hear there are some people who have opted to support Sata and provided him with a jet for his campaigns

  34. Panga welding, suitcase full of GRZ cash ,LPM(RIP) leaving boma coz sata was super corrupt….and pipo still pretend all these things never happened. GOD HELP US….words of late LPM on possibility of sata being president. The only development i see sata bringing is kissing FTJ’s little feet out of trouble …MMD is true uniting party, look at the composition of PF mps and UPND mps …no PF south of Lusaka and no UPND north of Lsk. ..And u call them leaders..PLS!

  35. No. 38. CALL ME KAPONYA OR WHAT YOU WILL. DEEP DOWN YOU KNOW I HAVE SAID THE TRUTH. COME NOVEMBER, RB WILL BE SWORN IN- ALL BECAUSE YOU NON-KAPONYAS CAN NOT READ THIS CURRENT SITUATION CORRECTLY. IN 1991 THERE WERE NO DIVISIONS ON THE BASIS OF REGION. MMD AND KK LOST EVERYWHERE. APART FROM WINNING IN NORTHERN AND LUAPULA PROVINCES WHERE HE IS BELIEVED TO HAVE COME FROM ,FTJ WON IN SOUTHERN , WESTERN , N/WESTERN, CENTRAL AND PART OF EASTERN PROVINCE! THE CAMPAIGNS (AND POSTS ON THIS SITE)ALL REEK WITH TRIBALISM. WHAT IS THAT IS SO DIFFICULT FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND WHEN I SAY THE ONLY WAY TO KICK OUT MMD IS FOR THE OPPOSITION TO FORGET ABOUT WHAT YOUR MOTHER TONGUE IS AND FORM ONE UNITED FR

  36. No.33 Anyone but SATA.

To err is human, to forgive is divine, so goes the wise saying. I have been a keen follower of Sata and through all his political career it is his uncensored speech that has landed him in problems. On the other hand Sata has had a positive impact in every functional ministry he’s worked in. He is a perfomer, he researches well before he acts. All of us can drive over the Lusaka flyover bridge, walk past the Merzaf flats and at that time walk into a scheme operated clinic and say well the man has worked. The interesting thing about humans is that we are never comfortable with a territory we have never trod, suffice to say; Mr Sata is the only familliar face.

  37. Between the two Sata has more experince in politics as compared to RB. If you took two groundnuts and one had holes in it you would have to be careful when eting it, hence be careful with the groundnut you have no Idea what taste it will deliver.

  38. From chilanga go to mongu and solwezi set the good fire burning. Win the right thinking minds. Dont consentrate in places where they love you. Go teo the Zedians the massage. You are the number one bastard at winning arguments. Remember to mind your language your ‘jocks’ can be awful at times. Go talk taxes, foreign investment, jobs, food security, electricity, corruption,… levy’s legacy, you are the only one who knows. forget about king fred’s support and no reconsiling with him til he brings what he store. We dont need a teenager first lady and her grandfather.Go

  39. SATA has just praised RB in his remarks without knowing:

“If he is elected President, Zambia will go back 360 degrees backwards,” Sata said.

Those who support SATA, please teach him some little geometry; when you turn 360 degrees you go foward not backward.

So in short is accidentally admitting the truth, that RB is the mad to go forward.

I hope that SATA will turn 180 degrees, because he seems not to know how to turn.

the man is full of nothing back attacks and accusations; so HH when you form a pact beware of querreling, and attacks – it’s part of policy for PF, though not on paper.

  40. # 34, which leader has been chosen by god? The old thing from the farm? Mr. Banda Nyoni from Chipata, this is the triblism pipo are talking about. Stop it,
HH or SATA my friend whether you like it or not. What nonsence!!!!

  41. WHAT ACHIEVEMENTS PLEASE DID HE MAKE 30 YEARS AGO.

people are so blinded, some half complete houses numbering between 100 and 150 at achievement.

Please do you call that an achievement. May be we understand achievement in different languages.

Tuma health coupons which never materialised you call that achievement. IS THAT ACHIEVEMENT?

let him talk about tangible things My goodness

  42. Continued No.50

I have tried to trace RB’s political career and something tells me he is not suited for the top sit. His private life is not any better than Sata’s. I am sure if we went digging there is a lot of stuff that can come out of the ground, bottom line is we are humans. HH has had his life spent in a corporate environment. Theoretical understanding of economics does not qualify one to lead a nation. He was an active participant in one of the most disastrous privatisation programs in the world and his emergence to politics brought out divisions in his party and clearly labled my Tonga friends as a great tribal region. Being objetive is seeing beyond personality.

  43. Anonymous #56. I wonder which country you live in. If infrastrucural development is not an achievement then I wonder what is? Go to Chilenje and take a census of how many families are living in those same houses.

  44. OUR FRIENDS TALK ABOUT BUILDING HOUSES, ROADS, AIRPORTS, HOSPITALS, CLEAN WATER FOR EVERYONE, MINIMUM WAGES FOR WORKERS, EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK, EQUITY POLICIES, SECURITY FOR ALL, ACCESS TO FINANCE, LAND ALLOCATION AVAILABLE FOR ALL, GUARANTEED PENSION.

AND SATA IS VOMITING RUBBISH, MY FOOT

IF WE ARE NOT CAREFUL WE WILL BECOME A KAPONYA STATE.

PLEASE LET US HAVE SOME PRIDE, NOT THIS RUBBISH

  45. fellow countrymen and women, have u noticed that its in the mwanawasa govt where we have seen lawyers getting rich thru dubious means and yet the late was a lawyer himself. i wud rather vote for a farmer or a teacher not these educated thieves.

  46. i.e. Lost the Munali seat to Mr. Kampata former Headmaster in 1983 for Munali Secondary school. He was removed as FAZ President for not performing. I don’t have any thing I can attach RB to other than that of being VP. What else has the man done to warrant your support other than the fact that he employs some of your relatives who you share with and not the rest of us. So the 3 Discuss issues from what you know and not what you think you know. I may not like RB or HH but I don’t need to demonize them, My saying SATA is the leader for now and if he become president will not add any real value to me but may be will help my relative get out the poverty they have been in for the past 17 yrs.

  47. #59

ARE YOU PROUD OF THAT SURE, THAT IS LIKE YOU HAVE GIVEN UP.

    PEOPLE THAT IS LAUGHABLE.

THIS IS WHY IT IS EASY TO BE HOODWINKED.

SURE MEZARF IS AN ACHIEVEMENT. WE THE PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA AND THOSE OCCUPYING THOSE MEZARF UNITS DESERVE BETTER.

SO YOU THAT IS WHAT WE EXPECT WITH SATA. MY GOODNESS

  48. Plesae, mwebalefwaya HH can you first tell us how he amassed his wealth.I for one would like to be very clear on this matter.I Dont want to vote for some body with a funny background. njebeniko

  49. This time round. let’s discuss issues! What plans does King Cobra have for the nation: education, health, fuel prices, inflation, employment, investment, agriculture, foreign policy, crime, housing etc, etc! There is a lot to talk about – many serious issues. PLEASE,for a change, let the voters be guided wisely! As for me, I will vote for someone who will convincingly articulate issues close to the people’s hearts. KING COBRA, WE ARE WAITING!!!!

  50. #56 & 60 , it seems you dont know the flyover bridges on great east road and church road do you. mezerf, uniforms for nurses and the historical record lusaka city council holds of having buses and making more money. if these are not achievements, then show us your candidate who has achievements.
i wud rather a dictator was in state house coz most of u are lazy and dont want to work but sata makes work move forward.

  51. Note that Sata’s interview above was from a live radio discussion..so bound to cover various topics. If you want Sata’s issues then log onto his website.. www . michaelsata . co. zm and a file called “The way foward for Zambia”

#33..you must be stuck in one of the embassies abroad and wondering wheather your job is safe..stop sweating..you may be maintained despite being a cadre from MMD.

  52. You guys and your president (SATA), educate him a bit. Look at this “If he is elected President, Zambia will go back 360 degrees backwards,” Sata said. Your President doesn’t know that going back 360 degrees means you get back to your original position.

Come on PF members. You deserve better. VOTE RB.

  53. SATA proposes to cut down Tax without explaining how he is going to make up for that that loss in revenue.

You see, on the surface Tax reduction looks good. But how do you go forward, he lacks that. He is just their to hoodwink.

  54. Basa!..I hear this HH has been paid by MMD and pomised to revival of his bankrupt companies if he stands and SPLIT the vote.
Fellow UPNDs, please lets wake up and stop this greedy and selfish plan. mebo ndime mwana muTonga and I have proof of this plan.

  55. YOUR FRIENDS ARE BUILDING MORDERN AS AS A RESULT OF PRUDENT ECONOMIC POLICIES AIRPORTS ALL OVER THEIR COUNTRIES AND ALL WE CAN TALK ABOUT IS ‘PROVIDED UNIFORM FOR NURSES’

    THIS IS VERY SAD

  56. YOUR FRIENDS ARE BUILDING MORDERN FACILLITIES AS AS A RESULT OF PRUDENT ECONOMIC POLICIES AIRPORTS ALL OVER THEIR COUNTRIES AND ALL WE CAN TALK ABOUT IS ‘PROVIDED UNIFORM FOR NURSES’

    THIS IS VERY SAD

  57. Only HH, as Zambian President, has the capacity to carry on with Levy’s programmes with Magande as his minister and probably Maureen as Vice President – since that position will be free for now. the rest of the ministers can be keep but those who will not cooperate can leave before 2011. RB’s MP nomination can end if HH assumes power.

    Go Zambia, gooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

  58. Ba Sata spoke to LPM for 2 hours and he pulls it out of himself to believe that he has LPM’s legacy. So then what about RB who has been the Late’s VP for 2 years, dont u honestly think he is in a better position to carry on the legacy. Ba Sata muletontokanya mudala! Think about what u saying.

  59. #67. Thanks for the info about Sata’s website. Hope the people in Shangombo, Chama, NaBwalya and Chavuma will read it. Otherwise, the voting pattern will be the same as 2006. Let Sata connect with the people by discussing ISSUES with them during his rallies. The website is good, but like the State House website, how effective is it as a campaign tool? THINK! THINK! This is Zambia!

  60. Sata-there you go again, talking nonsense.not every zambian is a kaponya so talk sense.& for the record 1.Salary increment-a lie which started by Maureen Mwanawasa-check your facts. 2.RB was born in Zimbabwe-his zambian parents were immigrant workers in Zambia and under the constitution which everybody seems to know nothing about anyone living in Zambia at the time of independence automatically become a zambia unless they didnt want the citizenship. by the way all you haters living abroad you do realise that this is the same discrimination your children will face 1day-RIGHT! 3.Sata so will chase the Chinese to bring in Taiwan? guess thats the only way to pay them back. A’Banda 4 President!

  61. Now im confused he is challenging other candidates to test for HIV Kaposi Sarcoma and have their hearts checked. Now lest see who reacentyly has a heart attack??? as for KS which usually manifests itself in HIV infected individuals does he even know what that is. ok and so if a candidate test positive. ba tata besu lets not use that route

  62. Why are we wasting time on this non-issue?
    SATA is an opposition leader.
    He wont be president.
Let them strugle, the president will not strugle to assume office.
Look at Mwanawasa, he did not strugle, but was followed up while the SATAs were strugling.
Now its RB, no strugle; he was just followed up at his farm in eastern province.
Therefore, some people are struglers, while others are leaders.
So let those who have begun to panic form pacts and spend sleepless nights, but come 31st October, RB becomes 4th president of Zambia.

  63. Anonymous #73. In this world those who don’t appreciate in little things even when given the whole wealth to play with, they will never appreciate. I can tell from the way you portray yourself that you are either one of the most fortunate ones not to have grown up in Zambia or you are just unappreciative. I am not a Sata fan, neither am I an HH nor RB man. I am a Zambian who has lived in this nation and I’m proud to be part of this wonderful nation. It is my duty to choose the best leader out of the unfortunate options that we have and looking at the current scenario, Sata is better poised to become the 4th Republican President unless otherwise rigged.

  64. leave it or get it sata has a proven record, threfore stop the nonsence u are talking about.show us the records of rb. Mr SATA SIR whether they like or not we are voting 4 u. PABWATO NI ZEE.

  65. #82

I get what you are saying, dont you see that going for SATA will be a huge disruption of the little progress we were beginning to make.

Surely the evidence is everywhere. The guy does not have principles.

Today, he will say ‘the post is good’ tommorrow, ‘the Post is bad’

Today chinese good, tommorrow chinese bad.

Today HH is good, tommorrow HH is bad

You cant trust him for consistency nor for guidance, or for progress.

  66. Sata has a record which you can proove. Go to UTH, when Sata was Health Minister, UTH changed, doctors never went on strike during his time, when he was local govt minister, lusaka for example was as cleaner as Sydney. Council workers were also paid on time. Now what has banda done? Nothing

  67. #82 why is it always assumed that when the opposition lose the election was rigged? i think we are getting tired of this excuse.

  68. no 79 en 80 are fools indeed, they dont know anything pliz forgive them. SATA has been there for us since 2001. whether there are election or not he been pushing these chaps in government so i think this time its indeed MR SATA for PRESIDENT. who knew rb before Mwanawasa appointed him his vice? HH should make a pact with sata

  69. Let’s face facts… SATA will never be president. Not in this life time. RB is our next president. Those with hopes for SATA please be careful depression can be very dangerous. U might suffer from that after the elections

  70. theanswer#88. It is a well known fact that this thing happens. Elections being calculated, recounted, and delayed is seriously a signal that something has gone wrong. Do you recall how many days it took for the results from Luapula and Northern to be announced??? Reason…

  71. Careless Talk won’t get Sata to Plot 1. He lost in Eastern Provice becoz of careless talking. When Levy won in Eastern I was so mad at my family members for voting for Levy and I asked them why they voted for Levy with all the poverty and unemployed issues.
There answers were that they couldn’t stomach Sata’s careless talk and dictatorship behaviour.

  72. Sata is trying to find out whetehr MMD can make anyone presido because clive chirwa who could have made a lot of sense was told to start from grass root level, but RB was hand picked and some pipo dont even know him.Now look at tendencies in MMD can you trust these leaders?Thatswhy ni pa bwatoo.Bane dont insut ba sata pantu he made MMD to work so lets give him chance.

  73. #89 are u sayin that the MMD victory in 1991 was rigged as well?? For me really the questionable election was 2001. In 2006 opposition just weren’t smart enough by using selective campaigning. MMD campaigned countrywide that’s why LPM won.

  74. who vowed not to deal with the post newspaper?who went to apologize later on? we’ll see who will apologize after 30th October. I think politics of personalities are long gone. simple minds discuss people. great minds chart the way forward.

  75. #53 right on the spot. Sata has displayed his ignorance in simple numeracy, sshurely turning 360 degrees let you face where you were facing and if zambia was moving forward then RB will turn 360 degrees and face forward again. RB is a carear diplomat and he will certainly not answer all that trush. by the way no one was born in zambia before 1964 because there was no zambia and if one is a foregner how can he be a tribalist. VIVA Sata king cobra lets go tribal and spit all our venom for the last time if we make it to plot 1 then the rest will sort it out.

  76. #92 I understand your concerns but am sure if rigging was widespread then how come the evidence is so elusive. There was a court case after 2001 but there never any evidence of ballot papers being duplicated and the like. Maybe I’m just unaware so if u know where there is evidence of rigging please enlighten me. I like to keep an open mind. Show me some evidence.

  77. Its a PACT… a government we gonna have, President Sata, Vice-Pres HH. Finance minister : Ng’andu Mangande (just left MMD).

  78. But what is wong with Zambians, A 26 year old man has carnal knowledge with a 13 year old girl you take him to prison saying he is a child defiller but no one has ever challenged Chi Rupiah Banda for marrying a small girl of over 30 years age difference this makes me sick! Screw you zambians!

  79. The Post On Zambian Airways:

The Post is not the wealthiest business in this country. But we were happy to stake our US $3 million in this business. The Post does not get any ngwee, kwacha, cent or dollar from Zambian Airways. Even the directors of Zambian Airways do not, unlike other directors, receive any sitting or other allowances.

This business has grown from a turnover of US $3 million in 2002 to US $40 million in 2008. And not a single cent of this has ended up in our pockets.

  80. Ba JB#91. Don’t be too sure, you are just one vote out of the millions of voters we have around the country. Imwe just campaign for Ba RB. We are not stopping anyone after all we don’t know how your mood will be on the actuall polling date limbi mukayachinja amano mu booth. Lets be constructive not destructive. We need to mature and rise above such cheap politicking. Sata leads the largest opposition in parliament. His counsellors run the biggest municipalities in the country. He was only a few votes short of a victory in the last elections, when he’s on radio the station has an obedient audience, when he’s in the paper the newspaper sells. Such a man can not be under rated.

  81. Cont..We know that there are those who want to kill this business because one of its shareholders, ourselves, have been critical of Rupiah Banda and the people that surround his campaign for the presidency. Does Rupiah want to start his bid for the presidency by killing one of the biggest indigenously-owned Zambian companies?

The accusation that Magande promised The Post money for Zambian Airways in return for political support is so ridiculous, so stupid. It can only come from empty heads. We hope Zambian Airways will take the opportunity to explain what role the Minister of Transport and her ministry have played in this matter.

  82. Mulozi ati the wife who is 29 yrs is an adult. For your information the lady is 29 shes a primary school teacher who i hear has gone to unza First year. So the ager difference is actually 42 yrs. I thought my age difference with my wife was abit wide (8) but maaaawe! 42 awe achilamo mudala. Bonse bayopa kupamba daaam ba Banda how disgraceful.

One should also get data on Mrs SATA isnt she 35 or somethin?

  83. U guyz who is rb. i didnt know that a sensible person can vote for rb as president.n way my my reseach about this man is not conlusive so i will get back to after a further research coz i cant find anything gud about rb.

  84. The peason who first proclaim another as tribal is the one who is a tribalist. Lets debate issues, not personalities. Grow up guys.

  85. I know ba SATA started courting her during her 7th year when he was a minister of Health. That girl was sponsored by ba SATA ku UK to do her postgraduate.

  86. for those who are non PF.. give ur email adrress and will sent to you PF’s development policy. It will surely change the way you think about PF. VIVA SATA

  87. Let RB rule while we look for credible people because currently I see none. Few ba someneka Dongo na Sundu, Mulenga and Jelita we know how a country is to function ngacili icikashana. Bushe Ba SATA nabo niba candidate? HH I am yet to know someone who has worked for a company and made so much money. Is he a thief or what? please explain how you got iyo dunkus under ZPA.

  88. Make a pact so that you can be packed together as you to MMD’s victorious RB.
The man does not insult so when if he looses what do you think he will be doing, eh?
At least for SATA he has alread got something to do; he can continue insulting and quarreling, reconciling only when he has been helped. And pick another quarrel with someone else.
But, as for leadership it is for leaders like RB.

  89. EasyE. What education does he need that RB has? RB kept licking his fingers every time he flipped to the next page. Does RB and your self know that, this is unhygienic. Could you pliz school RB on this or else we shall go 400 degrees instead of the 360 stated by Mr. Sata. And for your own information this is a figure of speech which probably has nothing to do with little science you know. So stop being petty and deal with issues. By the way who says politician should know every thing. If they did then you and me would have no role to play in their day to day running of parties or the Nation. Politicians are supposed to politic and politic intelligently. This politicking is based on facts or

  90. Viva KING COBRA chi RB is a seasoned diplomat and very well aducated dont let him talk about economy lets go tribal against him if he doesnt answer spit more venom untill our wind pipes get jummed. Good start in Monze, like supporter #30 lets insult until our mouths get rotten. if we can only get to plot one the rest will be history and it will sort itself. there will be more money in there pockets, no chinese, no tax, cheap fuel, free medicine in hospitals and free schools.VIVA SATA

  91. Sata supporters, i wish differ with you because the achievements mentioned above which you & your president claims to be personal achievements attributed to Satana were government projects which can’t be attributed to one person. Moreover, it’s the same incomplete merzaf project which lead to LPM’s resignation from his position of VP on moral grounds under FTJ. Where have you been? no wonder SATA’s friend FTJ once said ” Zambia people are docile and forgetful” Under cycle matter, this country would experience the worst form of misappropriation of funds and corruption.

  92. In light of the obvious yet never proved government rigging,it seems to me the only way forward for these two political giants(PF & UPND) is:they should aim to unseat the MMD from PARLIAMENT first then the presidential elections tackled last otherwise this will be another fruitless venture.

  93. #106,
the problem is not that a sensible person can vote for RB; the real problem is that # 106 does not think that that can happen.
Anyway I seem to understand #106’s problem; he is wondering how someone can get a vote without insulting.
It is sad that some people think that you can only see sense in a person if that person carries a sack of insults.
If insults are what brings votes then RB wont make it.

    Very, very sad indeed!

  94. FACE REALITY, THE OTHER REASON SATA AND HH COME TOGTHER IS TRIBAL.

COMPARE THE VOTES SATA GOT IN SOUTHERN PROVINCE IN 2006 AND WHAT HH GOT IN LUAPULA AND NORTHERN PROVINCE YOU WILL UNDERSTAND SOMETHING.

LETS CONTINUE TO FIGHT TRIBAL PROBLEM ITS NOT A SMALL ISSUE IN OUR COUNTRY.

THEN IF HH AND SATA CANT MERGE LET THEM GO INDEPENDENTLY BUT RISK WASTE OF RESOURCES BECAUSE MMD IS STILL VERY POPULAR.

  95. #122 on the issue of tribalism, i feel i speak for every blogger when i say Zambians today have gone beyond tribal issues (by virtue of intermarriages we have come to accept each other). it’s the politicians who when requesting our votes remind us of our tribes

  96. I think you guys (#53,68 and others) talking about turning 360 degrees are not understanding what Sata was meaning. He means going 360 degrees back to the postion one was at or is at.This means that no change will take place. To explain further it means no development for the years to come will be at the same level we are today. But If you Vote Sata and the pact you will see drastic change in Zambia in terms of positive development and thats what we need. There few leaders like him who want to come together for a common good rather than being selfish. He is a great leader. This is a great move by both Sata & HH now there can be no question of being tribalistic.Viva opposition.

  97. If the fly over bridge done twenty, thirty years ago which should infact be attributed to KK is being called development and to be used to compaign for Sata, then we do not know the development we are missing in Zambia.
Zambia requires a new approach if we are to come out of this mess. New and indeed younger minds.A revolutionary mind that thinks of Zambia as a whole. Not people that only think of the rural areas when it is election time like now. God help us

  98. What the two have done is a gesture of not only maturity but having a great vision for our mother land.I do believe when voted into power, these guys will work. Will see lots of development.People with different skills and background which have brought development to the country and individuals. Sata has a record of being the man of action. HH having acquired wealth also shows that he has not only created employment in peoples lives in on way or another but shows skills of a good manager.Let us see what the two guys can deliver. But certain poeple after elections should be maintained, Felix Mutati and Magande. They have contributed well to the economy to allow continuity.incase of reshuffles

  99. Please people why are you so short sighted. Sata failed to run his own party by bull dozing it. He is the PF President, Spokesperson, secretary…..In short he is a dictator and he will never change because that is his nature. VIVA HH for better for worse VIVA Mwaiche

  100. Lazy people with no zeal to work hard and make money for themselves will always point an accusing finger claiming those that have made the money are either satarnists or thieves. Those that question HHs wealthy sould first try and find out the traditional culture in which the man was born. In that culture mwana a zyalwa ba mukowa balamupa ngombe. So at birth HH was a couple of cattle richer than any averrage child in Zambia. What he made there after added to what he had at birth. If you look at his so called wealth, most of it is the value of the Cattle he has ku LUTANGA or MUHIMPATI ZYAKWE. Dont bland your friends thieves or satanists for your failure in life.

  101. #123, Troubled Zambian you are dead right. Some politicians and their supporters tag others. How come one man is tagging all others as tribalists? Watch out Zambia!

  102. This man (SATA) that u are putting your hopes in has no stand on any issue. He changes position like the wind. Today he will say this tomorrow he will say another thing. The only thing he seems not to change is his ambition to be president. He wants to be president at all cost, no wander he says anything to please his followers like Mwene M #103. Be warned the BOAT is sinking.

  103. Ba RB one day paTV baleyeba ba ZESCO at Balunde amalaiti by 300% as if its not enough epapene bele mugovt basuminisha increment ya yamaconsitutional workers! mwema Zambians mwalaba shani at nibamudala ba Chilufya no mwaice HH baimishe lulu wakutulandilako? Elo ababa bantu balemibepa pali ecom=nomy mubepushe incito efyo shifulile mucalo. insala nilekaleka! ubunga K56,000. Ba Gabriel wacita bwino ukwibukisha abantu ukuti amalection ngayapita tushala fye na Sata euletulandilako bonse aba ba opposition balayapacani! Awe ine nshilelandila abena Zedi ndeilandila palwandi forward nipa Bwato! Fwebana Zedi fwebali pazedi nifwe tumfwa ubukali! kabiyeni NCH mumoni ifyo icipatala cili! Viva Sata and PF

  104. How can SATA claim that he can work with HH when he cant work with his own Mp’s.

So many contradictions in this guy.

Who does he think he can hoodwink.

  105. Viva Sata and HH we shall support you bonse whether MMD, UPND, UNIP, FDD Chebo kwingila muchibwato “everyone in the boat” with PF VIVA SATA

  106. Ba Pink Lady – the fact that the media always want to inteview Sata and even us the voters also have our ears glued to what the man is saying does not make him a party multifunctional. The man appeals to the ordinary Zambian, he speaks straight to the emotions and feelings of ordinary people. The party organs are still running well ever heard of Guy Scott, Given Lubinda??? Some MP’s that are regarded as outcasts did not go into PF to serve the people but to enrich themselves. A good example of such is that former MP from Chingola nomba people have gone beyond such politics – the man lost on an MMD ticket. Just wait…

  107. MMD = high cost of mealiemeal, high fuel prices, high salaries for ministers, high loadshedding, high levels of povert the list is endless! while PF = low taxes, mo jobs, mo money in our pockets and better hospitals!

Ba Sata bebeni amaissues yacine! forget about where RB came from. Ala mulatweba ifyo tufwaya ukumfwa! Lilya mwali muministry of Health ubuyantanshi bwamoneka. Dont talk about RB mwalaleka bamwishibe abantu.

  108. #123, #134 when SATA called HH a tribalist the term got stuck on HHs forehead and he never recoverd from it and thats how he lost but then it only helped MMD because PF lost the elections. Now that PF is proposing an alliance with UPND the tribalist is RB.if it sticks then maybe the alliance can have an advantage and if it doesnt then MMD might get a landslide.Wait and see which politician is a tribalist because zambians are not but. ” they are not the Motors they are the conveyour belts”

  109. Sata is back to his old ways! Immature, untruthful campaigning lacking any substance whatsoever. Say what you may about old man RB, but the bali exhibits sober & mature qualities. Cycle Mata & his reconciliation with the shady Post will never get him to plot one!!!

  110. Engines #142. People the fact that you and me are beyond tribalism does not mean that everyone is beyond it. Tribalism in Zambia is rife, the only thing that saves us is the many tribes that we have. I attended the Mulungushi function when HH was being unveiled – the crowd was speaking Tonga, I was made think all Tongas in lusaka were present at that meeting. Then try in a public place depending on which region you are in proposing a name from some different region and the story will explain itself. As much as we want to run away from this issue tribal inclination will always be an issue in politics. We can only pretend.

  111. Talking of Mmembe, the brother is pissing his pants off right now! Since when did GRZ start ‘victimising’ Zambian Airways?? C’mon people, this private airline simply has financial difficulties & Dora Siliya or RB have nothing to do with that. How do you expect NACL to operate if the chaps don’t pay up? Why aren’t other airlines like Zambezi Airlines asking for the same favours??

  112. No one should receive special treatment here, a free market should allow for healthy competition especially among the Zambian airlines!!! I fail to comprehend how a company with a $40m turnover can fail to pay off the $1.6m debt? Fact is, these guys are failing to service their long term debt obligations from internally generated cashflows! That’s why ZCCM-IH refused to invest in their little venture. Airline industry is in turmoil globally incl the US, so it would be extremely futile for GRZ to try & save these chaps. Bwana Mmembe, humility is a very important virtue. You insulted RB, so if he wins elections, don’t expect any sympathy! Say bye to your $3m investment into a ‘black hole’..

  113. I am looking for a President who shall consider renegotiating existing contracts with investors for the benefit of all i.e Investors and Zambians – a 50/50 situation.

In most privatised companies qualified Zambians are increasingly being replaced with foreign colleagues; middle management inclusive.

Shame to ZED !!! Discuss real issues affecting you and generations to come.

  114. How own earth can he convince the people that his PACT with HH is without malice when he cant work with his own MP’s?

How will he wriggle around such a dichotomy?

  115. the boat is on we are sailing to the state house here we come we dont need a govt with full of women (banda, teta, mulo goat shika) to lead us we need a lion to change the situ. in zed viva SATA

  116. #102. The Post,
This is the problem with African Businessmen; They want to always blame the govt for their own inefficient.
When you make your clothes dirty please learn to clean them up with your own detergent, you are a private firm.
Who told you not to honour you business operational responsibility?
You think all Zambian are very dull people, you owe NAC alot of money and you want the government to give you a soft loan by differing your payments.
You cant even tell that NAC needs cash for its operations. Zambians are not fools. Now you are looking for symphathy from us; clean up your own clothes; you are not a parastatal,OK.
You mess up and blame others, why?

  117. Mwine M, Thanks for articulating sata’s achievements. The Man has really contributed to the development of this country wheather as opposition or in government. In opposition he has kept the gvt in check.

I have observed most of the people condemning him are actually those who are in diaspora, my question is What have you done for your country?

And please can any of the RB supporters list some of his achievements in his political Life

Come October 30th, My vote is on Sata because atleast he seems to understand the problems of the ordinary Zambian.
Some people are increasing their salaries by 300% while most civil servants are getting below K 500,000. Choice is yours

  118. PF-HH pact? something smells fishy here. I can’t trust Cycle Mata for one minute. Even if HH accepts a VP arrangement, I know for a fact, Mata will pull a fast one on the young chap as soon as he’s sworn in! I think we’re stuck in a catch 22 situation, so who between Cycle Mata & RB is a lesser ‘devil’? The answer is pretty obvious don’t you think?

  119. Just listen to Sata he never said anything of substance but just waffling and character assasination. Please base your compeign on issues. We are not interested in cheap talk of house wives and house boys. Grow up Sata damnit!!!

  120. Whether you like it or not, Sata is the next presdo! let’s be obkective in our arguments otherwise the whole blog is meaningless. You people saying Sata has no direction in this article, did you listen to the whole interview on radio? RB in his address on TV just the other day said a whole lot of things… thanking the nation for being peaceful, the famous OILO story, zesco etc. Would just be justified to conclude that he had no coherence in his talk? Why aren’t you talking about RB being incoherent? VIVA SATA AND PF. You’re just making the man even more popular with your hate talk. TALK IS CHEAP… WE NEED ACTION

  121. Talk about development issues Mr Sata if MMD decided to adopt RB it is there problem. Tell us what you will do and will vote for you if it makes sense. Most people did not belive in Levy but now look at the record he has left behind.People still remember how you behaved on FJT third term bid.It will be Sata or HH or RB in November whoever talks sense personal attacks will not work this time.

  122. Stop discussing whether RB is Zambian, UNIP or Eastener, that is irrelevant please ba Sata. Zedians want to hear what you are going to do for them. They know that you do according to what you promise and therefore people are waiting to hear your promises. Do not foreget about the young man HH you should always work closely. HH to take over in 2011. Efyo ifwile ukuba

  123. Imwe bantu please abash cycle mata…let’s discuss developmental ideas and progressive leaders NOT people who spend all their time talking trivial issues

  124. Ba # 41 you are not practicle ,you are a real armchair critic. Ubwato hasnt sunk. It was the pulling engine that was a problem. Now the Chinese have promised a brand new pulling engine because they are no longer interested in fixing the so called Inkoloko. Inkoloko yashima, Ubwato bwaya,VIVA PF,VIVA KING COBRA

  125. #30 the problem of you such pipo whom don’t want to kill yoself, kiss other pipo’s ass. Ever since you have known sata can you mention any day anywhere where he had talked a word of praise to someone without critics. we don’t need commanders to rule this country, we need those with good heart

  126. In politics every issue is important. I have just been reading the newspaper and Banda says he will support football once elected as president. Isn’t that petty??? Someone tell me which one among our former presidents has not supported football? Banda is still trying to draft a campaign strategy, Sata has been campaigning from the day Mwanawasa (MHSRIP) was sworn in for the second term. A lot of issues that people have thought Sata is just yapping have turned out to be real issues of concern. sata in opposition has kept us informed and has kept the govt awake. Tell me what Banda has been doing apart from standing in for the President? Anonymous#159, I’m afraid we will have to do with Ubwato

  127. I agree with #163.We (PF)got a new 450hp engine from China. so ubwato bwala tufisha mu 2011.Elo abena HH kuti basenda bu Captain wa bwato after Ba SATA.

  128. Ba mtk live#164. I know you are Zambian, mature and responsible please check your language. LT has given us a good site for us to express our views and not for you to practice swearing in American English. Uko kuba shallow. Lets not just grow up as a nation but as individuals as well. This is why we have a leadership generation gap. look at the people standing Banda in the 70’s, Sata in the 60’s HH in the 40’s where are the others? They are busy being children like you mtk.

  129. Zambia will always be ruled by easterners or the wife of president will be from eastern province like vera chiluba. we are wise pipo!

  130. #155 Kay has asked a very important question. Those of you who are calling for the status quo are those not even in the country. You feel there will be a change in your situation if the current situation changes. Can some one provide me or us with the achievements of RB. I should think he was in Gvt.its not every leader who uses his /her influence in leadership to better others, RB is one of such.Sata has that track record of working for the people when he was in Gvt. Can we get RBs record? He advocates that Ministers and other get 30 million iand above while the common person gets below 500,000.What type of a leader is this? He is spineless with no shame. He is more of a stooge than a leader

  131. ACTIONS, NOT WORDS ONYL. PABWATO THIS YEAR. ENOUGH TALK PLLLLLLIIIZZ!
SUPPORT FOOTBALL??? IYEE! HOW CHEAP BA RB. The man has found himself in a pair of shoes too big to fit in. VIVA PF. VIVA SATA!

  132. #164, what “people” with good hearts are you tlaking about? Don’t be so naive! Sata is winning this time my friend. He’s a critic because he speaks for people who can never speak out in public… e.g. yourself. So many things are not right in this country and you want the man to just smile along? No way!

  133. SEE HOW DULL SATA IS!! HE SAYS ELECTING RB WILL BE GOING 360 DEGREES BACKWARDS. HE IS DESCRIBING A CIRCLE WHICH MEANS COMING BACK WHERE YOU STARTED FROM. HE SHOULD NOT WALK IN WATER WHOSE DEPTH HE DOESN’T KNOW. CURRENT TIMES DICTATE THAT A PRESIDENT MUST BE SHARP IN TALK AND APPEARANCE. WAKE UP ZEDIANS

  134. You Zambian out there listen, when you are living in a house that has too many rats which are irritating, never should you bring in a big snake (cobra) from the bush to eat up those rats, because if you do so, it will bite you when those rats are finished or run away. never be friends with snakes, they are your friends when they are flooded, but when its dry, they turn against you and probably bite you.
    So “DOn me” be careful

  135. #104. The Post,
Why can’t this wrong mentality come out of our minds.
Why do we keep thinking that govt should run our business?
You mismanage your own private investment then you cry fawl to the govt.
This is grade three commerse; that when you are in business and are renting, dont fail to take care of your rentals and project your costs.
Now, Zambian Airways wants tax payers money and now they are making a lot of noise to make it look like someone else is responsible for their position.
Ah, you guys! Is Africa going to continue to think like this honestly?
    Sad!

  136. Cry, our beloved Zambia!

If we do not carve for ourselves a place in the world of the 21st century, we shall forever remain in the doldrums.

Zambia needs a young, educated, pragmatic, inspirational and principled leader in order to progress. So let’s not be too emotional over this critical election issue but ‘shop around’ very carefully.

The totality of our national destiny cannot be put in the hands of the “honourables” that are being discussed on this forum. They leave too much to be desired when Zambia deserves much, much better.

If it’s a matter of ‘quarter a loaf is better than nothing’ because we are squeezed for time, then let us be damned.

  137. Sata’s supporters sometimes can be so steeped in support that they forget that Sata is only human and he has screwed up in his life before and all those mistakes will come up for scrutiny now. We don’t hate him. We just are skeptical that he can rule Zambia. And by saying that we don’t mean that therefore HH or RB is the better candidate. To me none of the candidates we currently have is credible. The three of them, Sata, RB and HH, are blood-thirsty tribalists who are going to divide the country. So I actually don’t care who wins because the result is the same. In fact I would rather have the most unfit among them so that I know he won’t rule for long before he dies and we can have change!!

  138. Sata cannot fool anyone about this tribal talk. I hope people can see through him. HH, wake up. Sata does most of his talking in bemba. He thinks Bemba is the official language of Zambia. He is the tribalist. Dont vote for him.

  139. Sata still thinks its 2006 where he can sweet talk us into giving him votes. Guess what its 2008 and we older and wiser and we not prepared to give our votes to you just for a song. Speak issues mudala instead of trying to engage RB in a war of words. That games played out.

  140. If only all bloggers based OUTSIDE Zambia could vote, Zambia would have the greatest Government and World’s greatest economy, democracy, most intelligent… need I go on? Alas, not even .0000 per cent of you chaps will even cast a vote on October 30! So much for your criticism of teh brave and decent voters who will actually cast their votes in exercise of their right!

  141. Sata has no program to offer Zambia. His is to criticise, Levy’s NCC, Machungwa etals participation, PF MPs campaign for him, RBs birthplace….sic, did Sata choose his birthplace?

He has never spoken about how to improve our lot in Rural areas. There you find real patriotic voters who will give him NO CHANCE. Ask him and he will acknowledge this. Otherwise why did he want to deputise as Levys Widow during the national mourning? His agenda is to shoot at somebody, not issues.

His current campaign program show his myopia, believing Zambia is at Kamwala Shopping centre or Kitwe’s Chisokone market. Monze at radio station, not rally then Kafue followed by Lusaka. As far as his nose, always

  142. What qualification does Sata have.. standard what? What is is vision for the country? This man does not understand many things, he gets confused. That’s why he keeps on shifting positions on important national issues. Lets give the job to someone who is literate and level headed.

  143. Pastor J, you have come, dont bother us with your little understanding of politics, most of these leaders have honouraly doctorates.

  144. Those of you who hate Sata, you hate facts as well pantu ifishika ngabakwebelapo filakalipa. The man is always factual, and not bitting about the bush, thus why he even have good records of public service coz he talk straight above all he is the man of actions unlike most politicians we have in Zambia. This time nipa Bwato,go Sata go.

  145. I know the old man sata’s language is usually unpleasant.
Fellow Zambians lets us not pretend. Are all following the American presedential campaigns. How people you call progressive are digging Sarah,Obama,Mccain & biden’s past. You can not separate the character from an individual it is a lie.We are where we are because we didn’t bother to look at Chiluba’s past.Let the candidates discuss issues and at the same bring out what we need we dont know about them. Please not insults………..

  146. Whereas i really want the opposition to win, reality is that MMD is still wining! Ba SATA should have concentrated to campain in Western, N. Western and southern otherwise trust me he wont win. If you only win in Lusaka and this time around they are sharing the votes with HH and MMD . Mind you the people are not foolish Mr SATA is sick, unless you dont live in Zambia. As long as HH and SATA both stand RB will Win thats reality……….i mean i hate reality but thats what will happen. Both SATA and HH are greedy…in this case HH should have agreed to be vice , but i for one know SATA is a bad dictator and would not want him to lead, in the end we end up with Rupiah Banda and thats our ne

  147. The truth of the matter is that there is absolutely no comaprison between Mr. Sata and RB. Where RB continues to behave with dignity, Mr. Sata’s wants to bully his way to the top. He obviuosly has not learned anything. He chooses to use the same tactics and stragergies that lost him the last two elections. He is RB’s best campaigner.

  148. we are just voting for formalities otherwise we already know who the president (RB) is and its very sad coz his not our preferred man and Ba VJ are you not tired of rigging?

  149. We Zambian must reasonable enough thinking that Sata is a leader. This man is not a national leader. He is just fit to be Provincial Minister.Sata does not evalute issues in a humble way he people to think the way he wants. In addition he has been spoiled by Lubinda is the worst politician in Zambia. So Sata should be very careful with Lubinda. The Prolem with Mr Sata is that every one is not good except him.Remember that it is Sata who tomented the Late President Mwanawasa since 2001.He used to insult President Mwanawasa day and night without any just cause. He should be thankful to God that he reconciled with the late before the president died.Mr Sata is shameful to the politics of this country

  150. Ba #197, enlighten us of any leadership position that Sata held and failed in? provoncial minister??? Be fair in your talk… FACTS please. If you have nothing logical to say with substance to say, just zip it. We don’t need mediocity on the blog. Save it for those who care.

Please All, let’s be objective in our comments!!!

  151. You have my full support Mr. Sata.Dont wonder about campaigning in lusaka.Go out to places where you are not popular.go..gg sat.viva my support vava……

  152. We need change for the better. When our friends the Nigerias in the diaspora are busy going back to Nigeria to start multinational companies , what are we doing ? Going to work in the UK and USA as maids and cleaners looking after the aged and we think we spending our time well. Wake up people, there will come a time when the world will no longer feel sorry for us and stop giving us aid.

We need to take charge of our destiney .Lets take out all the old politicians and new will a new lot. Do not expect different results doing the same thing 100 times. MSC , RB and the rest have had 45 years . What is it that they did not do that they will do now, in the next three years !

  153. I hear that RB is going to Northern Province for official visits. Can someone clalify, is it official visits or campaign? Please RB keep away from gov funds else the net will caught you!

  154. 1. The problems we are experiencing are of own making. It is a shame that Government through its Ministers should making an issue of a commercial debt of only US$1.6 million . We are very petty , no wonder we sold our jewel mines for US$ 30 million – the kind of money spent on football players. We just have it wrong – our measures of success – three girl freinds , a japanses used car and an incomplete house.

My appeal to the younger generation , let rise to the occassion and change the destiny of the country. We cannot be having the same people leading us.They have no ideas that can take the country forward. Look at the lot trying for President – they have been doing politics since 1950

  155. If God be for this coutry Zambia who can be against this country? God is yet to surprise Zambia, our God does not withhold any good thing from who believe in him. This Zambia was not declared a christian nation by accident.
TRUST GOD coz our GOD has plans for Zambia, plans not of evil but good. God has something better for us all in Zambia.
    LET GODs WILL BE DONE.

  156. If God be for this coutry Zambia who can be against this country? God is yet to surprise Zambia, our God does not withhold any good thing from those who believe in him. This Zambia was not declared a christian nation by accident.
TRUST GOD coz our GOD has plans for Zambia, plans not of evil but good. God has something better for us all in Zambia.
    LET GODs WILL BE DONE.

  157. The campaigns coming out are shallow or should I say rubbish- tribal talk , place of birth , political party affiliations etc. That’s cheap

We want discussion of real issues that can take Zambia to a level like our friends who are making real progress.

Please do not promote people to their level of incompetence

  158. lets elect a leader who can drive the nation to development a person with avision and love of the nation.trying a change is the only solution . lets not stick to the same vomits

  159. we just have to wait upon God’s choice and not just saying anyhow.Godly choice is the best! All we need to do is to work hand in hand with our brother who is going to win then development will continue. one love!

  160. WE NEED THIS MC/HH PACT,WE AR FED UP OF MMD.PIPO OF ZAMBIA RB WILL NOT DO ANYTHING FOR ZAMBIA.HH AND MC CAN DO BETTER.NO PACT IWILL GIVE MY VOTE TO RB.PLIZ DONT LET US DOWN,SWALLOW YOUR PRIDE FOR THE SAKE OF DEVELOPING ZAMBIA.

  161. #210, please leave out GOD, our Creator, in all this Hon. Sata campaign.

God’s Will will be done for Zambia. At this stage, just concentrate on reading the news and writing your opinion with facts that can be useful instead of irrational and illogical out-bursts.

  162. THE MANNER IN WHICH YOU WOULD LIKE THE COUNTRY TO BE IS IN YOUR VOTE, GO IN NUMBERS AND REMEMBER TO VOTE WISELY ON THE 30TH OCTOBER,MUTAYAMAKOKO IS WITH YOU.

  163. It’s hard to understand that people can still waste their time listening to Sata’s nonsense. We once had a “Kaponya” as president and you all know where we ended up.Now you want a “clown” to be president?

People should also look at Mr.Sata’s INSATIABLE thirst for power. It is not his destiny to rule Zambia.

    WAKE UP ZAMBIANS!!

  164. Fear Fear fear “He’s UNIP”, “he’s a foreigner”, “he’s a tribalist”, “HIV Test” Ku sabaila uku! what is Sata scared of? Can somebody help? Mwati alifye bwino? Even on his photo he looks so scared.

  165. Its not about changing MMD. The issue is the man who will be doing the top one job in the land and making decisions for all of us. At this point what counts is who will give us the best deal and all we want is kutoppinga umoyo watu. Our RB doesnt seem to have what it takes, HH is a new comer on the scene and Sata needs abit of a tranquiliser. HH and Sata together will be the winning team!!

  166. I agree with Musiye, what we need is Sata and HH to work together and they will deliver, the problem that is at hand is MMD is bringing back the looters VJ, Chriton Tembo, Mbita etc together with Mulongoti and the noisy Teta, we will be in trouble, after helping RB win elections they will force him to sign for their fat salaries and Venon will be busy trying to recover from the set backs of being out politics (try to fatten his frail body). Please let us push these two (Sata and HH) to work together and rescue the nation those vultures

  167. #216.you are a beast of no nation a chicken that eats its own eggs and deserves to be imprisoned under a basket patriotism is what we true zambians need to add on the sense of pride we have for our country
