We shall beat them even if they team up-RB

Share

Acting President Rupiah Banda has expressed confidence of   the party scoping the forth-coming October 30 Presidential by-elections.

Mr. Banda says the Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) is a strong Party which will never be intimidated by the opposition political parties even if they teamed up in the October 30 Presidential by-elections.

The Acting President was speaking to Journalists shortly after arrival from Chililabombwe where he had gone to watch the joint Zambia/Togo 2010 World Cup and Africa Cup qualifiers game in which Zambia won by a goal.

Mr. Banda said the MMD  was ready to  win the opposition in the forth-coming October 30 Presidential by-elections because the party  is  credible  and  capable of delivering to the Zambian people.

He appealed to the MMD members to campaign vigorously to ensure that the Party continued in government and fulfill the late President Mwanawasa’s vision of developing the country.

Mr. Banda said it was the late President Mwanawasa’s wish that the MMD party continued in government in a bid to uplift the living standards of people and propel the country’s national development to greater heights.

Earlier, Mr Banda called for  mature and issue based campaigns.

Mr. Banda made the call at Kasompe Airstrip in Chingola this morning before departure for Lusaka.

He said the forthcoming by-election messages must be based on the developmental agenda of the country.

He said the people of Zambia wanted to know how the political leadership of the nation would help the citizens to provide answers to people’s basic needs.

He said it was the MMD’s agenda to provide more schools, health centres and provide the necessary leadership that would improve the livelihood of Zambians.

Mr. Banda said politics of name calling and insults were long gone as Zambians were now focused on development in all the sectors.

He said the MMD cadres and members should send the right campaign messages to the people of Zambia so that on October 30, 2008 all may vote for the ruling party for continuity with programmes that the late President left in place.

Meanwhile Mr Rupiah Banda is tomorrow expected in Chipata to attend the Kulamba traditional ceremony of the Chewa people of Katete district on Saturday.

According to the program released ZANIS in Chipata by the Eastern Province administration in Chipata yesterday, Mr. Banda is expected to touch down at Chipata airport at 09 hours.

He will then go to Mama Rula lodge for a briefing before traveling to Katete to pay a courtesy call on Paramount chief Kalonga-Gawa-Undi at Mkaika headquarters, where the ceremony would be held on Satruday.

The programme also states that after the courtesy call, Mr. Banda will depart Katete for Chipata where he is expected to pay condolences to senior chief Nzamane of the Ngoni at his palace, on the death of his son.

The Acting President will have a night stop in Chipata before going back to Katete to attend this year’s Kulamba ceremony.

He is expected back in Lusaka on Sunday.

  1. ba “MONEY” Banda shuwa do you know what your are saying.
Pipo wud only vote Rb bcoz they are unsure about Sata.
Thats why these guys shud team up.
    HH – PRESIDO
SATA – FATHER OF THE PARTY OR ADVISOR

  2. RB and MMD should be aware that the people of Zambia expressed their desire for change in 2006. This time the MMD will surely be shown the exit door. We need people who can shake Zambia’s economy and end partisan and tribal politics that have divided us for so long. Zambia deserves something better and that is why Sata shoukd be given the chance for these 3 years and HH will take over after. Sata is the man Zambia needs.

  3. RB thinks its easy to pull through, sorry it wont be easy this time around even if he uses public resource to campaign.
The merge for the opposition should be now, lets out smart MMD AND ITS Tandem of thieves, croocks and witches.

  4. Chachine ba Lt am posting tuu kwikili.
its these commedy ya pa Zed that is making me so mad.
    Struggling Comedian where art thou?

  5. United Patriotic Development Front…thats the party taking ova next mnth..nt ths rubish frm a person hu maries pipo younga than hs children.viva change

  6. Lelo niba Mr Banda. Baka rige utuma election, Dr Banda. Amamaaa a Banda! Shut your gob a Banda imwe!

Unless you do a Bob Mugabe!

  7. Who cares if sata give up or not. If he does well after three years, he can continue. I am for the idea he is given a chance. Between Banda and Sata, I believe sata can do better. Sata has something to prove to the nation. He want to do better than Levy.
Let HH, partner with Sata, and let us see how Sata will run with it.
    Tubatwalile sembe bakayonawile Sembe..Tubatwalile.
HH should also conserve energy in case Sata does not pull it… But am sure Sata+HH will deliver the win.. But then we take our breathes..What next… I cant trust RB and his TETA, MULONGOTI, VJ and the dirty crew of MMD…

  8. As long as MMD does not answer the question of employee rights, worthless salaries offered by the ‘investors’, zambian empowerment in working environments and high cost of living, am afraid they will get worse votes from Lusaka and Copperbelt provinces than LPM got in 2006.

  9. The headline should read… “RB confirms rigging algorithm is now in place.” … yes RB we know you will win, you are MMD – you know all the trics in the book…why? because you made the tricks, why dont you just tell us what the elction figures will be since you already have rigged the election. RB 39% Sata 31% HH – still counting ballots in Monze.. Tonga Bulls Stand up

  10. RB should realize than he will not beat PF/HH becoz it is not about who beats who in the elections. The people of Zambia are the ones who are deciding in the election; unless MMD has plans to overlook people’s wishes by stealing the votes.
RB will not people PF/HH;the real fight is with the people of Zambia who want increase in their income and social welfare for children and old people, which unfortunately MMD has not done in 17 yrs…So please it is not about beating PF/HH; it Zambias will beat MMD by not voting for them this time around.

  11. HH for President and Sata for advisor or Veep. Otherwise, Maureen for VP while Sata can run as Minister without Portfolio.

  12. picture this, sata wins the by-elections then out of excitement suffered another heart attack and dies! people, why take chances on old sick people? vote HH!

  13. Iwe ka tona muleke umunobe ako ni ka flag ka ku Dongolilostan.
i agree with No.18 Sata presido for 3 yrs and HH executive PM

  14. Am I the only one bothered about RB’s activities at the moment? Most of his programs are centered on visiting traditional chiefs and their respective ceremonies AND here I am thinking he is the Acting President.

Now of course some people may say nothing wrong with it BUT I beg to differ. These so called Chiefs have been known to be corrupt. They receive all sorts of material benefits with a promise of compelling their respective subjects to vote for the sponsors. RB is claiming the election should be about issues therefore there is no need to seek for favours in this way thorugh illegal activities.

I have to end by stating the obvious, VP’s in Zed have no specific duties to …

  15. HH for president no compromise… Sata for Chairperson womens League or ministry or something that involves women and chitenges to wear to recieve HH at the airport.. Chilala for VP

  16. I think Mr RB Banda will be in for a rude shock. The PF-UPND merger that has begun like a rumour is a very strong force, one that he should not underrate.

  17. RB knows that both HH and Sata wants plot 1 and if not careful, PF may have taken problems to UPND. Unless PF who are pushing for this pact are willing to let HH be president, then RB will be ashamed as he will quickly leave, otherwise the difference sthat may come as a result of deciding who takes the presidency may give advantage to RB who seems not to panic. While Sata is having rallies in Kafue and Chilanga, Banda is attending traditional ceremonies and attending funerals because he knows that the electoral pact between HH and Sata cannot work due to Sata is hunger for power and his willingness to just ride on HH so as to get to state house which HH is also very much aware of.

  18. Problem ili ati ba RB namulaba ukwebati ukulosha teku vota iyo. Zambia does not need right campaign messages. We need a leader we can trust. we just cant trust you. am sure the new gratuity is enough to last you forever seeing u r well above the lyf expectancy limit for zambians.

  19. Chengelo you have a wiyadi sensi of yuma.
you are not sleeping yet, i thot i told you to go and sleep.
Dont disobey orders iwe ka noti cheng

  20. I have to end by stating the obvious, VP’s in Zed have no specific duties to do hence they are only assigned traditional and religious ceremonies most of the time. However, RB is Acting President and he must be seen to be performing important national issues otherwise people may begin to see him as only being as good as a VP end of.

  21. no 30 abena Copperbelt ba ku blu4ntain mwa sosa bwino yama.
kuti natemwa nokupa kalya ka kazeni kenu.
Anyway we shall tok bwino bcoz chi chengolo alumina kuti cha saboteja

  22. Be careful with RB, he will take us 30 years backwards. I agree with HH, RB belongs to the past, he does not fit into our new system of governance. He may come with him a one party state mentalility, already they want to sink Zambian Airways. Typical of the UNIP days. give Sata a chance for 3 years only.

  23. Bemba Bull… there is no such thing, u should change ur name to Bemba Fish on a broken down Lori headed for sale on the copperbelt. Bulls in bemba land are scarce and hungry…. That why PF symbol is a boat only good for fishing, please take the bemba boat to mpulungu harbor and put it to work. Tonga Bulls Ovation

  27. Ya ba RB at least u talkin sense and not name calling. Thats the way forward. Ignore the juvenile Sata and dont be tempted to answer back. Do things properly.

  28. MAPENZI #40: Howz about leading the way !!!

#42: Who cares about FTJ! People are making him a hero, as if he can control the whole country! The two may be in his pocket, but nothing lasts forever. We are not stupid. If RB, Sata or HH, become too full-headed and make unnecessary compromises to free plunderers, we’ll go for their throats and kick them out! No one wants to go back to where we were. We have worked too hard to reach here and no bastard will dare take us back. We are no fools. FTJ better be careful, Mwanawasa was civilised and restrained everybody. Now, FTJ should be careful not to appear too arrogant because a lot of people are still annoyed. A lot of people died in his time

  29. NO WONDER YOUNG PEOPLE CANT GET JOBS IN ZAMBIA.INSTEAD OF SUPPORTING A YOUNG, EDUCATED PERSON FOR PRESIDENT,THEY ARE BUSY SUPPORTING OLD PEOPLE WHO ARE OVER 65 YEARS THE RETIREMENT AGE.SO WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO GET YOUR CHANCE AS YOUNG PEOPLE?YOU NEED TO KEEP THE WHEEL TURNING.

  30. Discussions should focus on 2011. At that time PF will field Willie Nsanda type while MMD may have the Bwalya Chiti type. Though Lubinda has tried hard to modernize and sugarcoat PF perennial anarchy, the chaos will continue and he may at best feature as vice. This time around, MMD will get a presidential landslide margin reminiscent of 1991 coming from the East, West, North West, Central and parts of Northern provinces. Luapula still dicey but keep in mind new “bridges”. Watch this space.

  31. #47 Chiko is it you I met today at the Emabssy?

Batata sorry kuya bebele ku Zed! Back to Chawama where you came from.

    Ubwato!

  32. Sata has chilubas vision ..which we dont want..Sata wanted chiluba for 3rd term and we all know who chiluba was… Sata has chilubas vision…RB is good sata with his smoking habits will not take as anywere…

  33. #48 so called kokoliko; remember that the constitution is in the hands of the seat holder… as long as FTJ, VJ and the tree powered laptops are behind him, all i can say is Twateka again, Oh Yess!!!

  34. NO.51 you are right.RB acilamo ukukota. No wonder he is visiting chiefs and traditional ceremonies. He has no clue what he up against. He stil thinks like 30yrs ago.Chiefs are not as prominent.Sata lost despite the Mwata intimidating pipo in liverpool.

  35. Sata can only operate well if there is someone on top of him. Otherwise, it could be a National Disaster to put him as the number one man without anyone presiding on top of him. He simply has dictatorial tendencies and can never be trusted by educated people.

  36. ALL OF YOU WHO ARE WAFFLING ON THIS BLOG SEEM TO BE OUT OF THE COUNTRY IN THE DIASPORA PROBABLY AS ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS AND YOU WILL NEVER VOTE. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ZAMBIA SINCE YOU JOINED THE DIASPORA. COME ON THE GROUND AND SEE HOW RB IS GAINING GROUND. THE PROBLEM IS THAT YOU ALL SEEM NOT TO UNDERSTAND AFRICAN POLITICS. BELIEVE ME YOU EVEN THE ELECTION IS JUST A WAIST OF TIME AND RESOURCES. THE FACT IS THAT RB HAS ALREAD WON UNLESS IS FOOLISH HE WOULD LEAVE THINGS LOSE. BUT ACCORDING TO THE WAY I HAVE UNDERSTOOD AFRICAN POLITICS IT IS VERY DIFFICULTY TO UNSEAT AN INCURBENT OR ATLEAST SOMEONE HOLDING THE INSTRUMENTS OF POWER UNLESS HE IS WILLING TO GO. SO YOU BETTER WATCHOUT

  37. RB failed to win a parliamentary seat at one tym. he just doest have the brains. at his age i think he has lost a lot of brain cells including those used for reasoning. Honestly chi #54 u cant match RB with the ‘Deadly Alliance’ PA BWATO!!!!!!

  38. Lets not be carried away.we need to listen to what and how all these presidential aspirants/candates are going to deal with so many issues that our nation faces today and in the near future.we need to go into these elections with an open mind.We cant say RB,Sata or HH is the best out of them all before thet can even open their mouths to campaign. We are educated enough to make assessments from what they will say during the campaigns.Whatever they promise oplease quiz them how they will deliver.Never be cheated again

  39. Iwe # 59 we have been sending money to our parents and family members, we have been putting kids through school, and sending a lot of gifts that people would never have seen or had. We are not illegal, we are the true Government in the Diaspora, because we take care of our people whil the government Robs them. B*stard dont say anything else, go discover another boat to help sata

  40. Nzwa kucooko kwinikwini kuzwa mulaka wacuundu ku Monze, tata Chengelo Alumni. Nokuba ikuti bamama bazwa ku Pemba. Ino webo uzwa kuli nkoko? Twakaile kunjila muzyisi zyabantu bamalumbu twachona. Pesi kwalo kuvota ndalangwilwa kuyo vota ikuti batacenjeli.

  41. #59 walimonako incumbent uwo beta ati ACTINg? RB is only gaining ground from job seekers and gratuity beneficiaries. LPM was a Great Man with a following full of ifikopo (empty heads). MMD its your turn to swallow a bitter pill against your will. u will wish u cud turn back the hands of time and replace ba shikulu ba RB with Magande or mutati or anyone with brains. thats why #55 is very true to a larger extent than u the ‘#59’whatever it is that u discover and say.

  42. I hope the one who posted this on LT is not using it as something to discredit the Tonga tribe.I am not sure whether it is something we need to be talking aboutThese days parents dont make choices for their children on who to marry.I got married to my wife without the approval of her parents 16 years ago but today they are so happy with me and can noyt hope for a better son in law.So man dont blame any body but yourself and your girl friend for the failed relationship

  43. #64 my blood is from Kazungula area rural Monze district, if you get off the train in monze u can see my family home accross from the silos. But i was raised on the copperbelt, i am also alumni of Kitwe primary school and st johns convent school…i had a short sting at kansenshi primary for grade 1 and 2 before moving to Kitwe

  44. Disunity in MMD ni Sata (2000). Disunity in Oasis forum ni Sata.(2006) Disunity in ULP ni Sata ( late 2006). Disunity in Lusaka city council ni Sata (2007). Disunity among PF MPs ni Sata (2007). Unless you paint a leopard, it is always a spotted animal.

  45. BLOGGERS #6, 11, 17, 23, 24, N 35, u r really living in the past. in fact u v got no vision 4 zambia as individuals. you r so myopic that u cant even see any sense in what others r advocating. zambia is one of the terribly backward countries in the world in the presence of all natural and human resources. dont further be blinded by the scientific and technological developments in diaspora. wont waste time on u chaps.

#30, its not PF or SATA pushing for the merging of PF n UPND. Its the well meaning pipo of zambia. havent u been reading the blog? BLOGGERS at home n abroad (+non bloggers at home) have been writing to PF with a plea to merge.

  46. #59 i dont agree with you on unseating the current Govt it can be done, the issue is there’s too much vote splitting, dint you see how many pipo wanted to stand on MMD b4 RB was chosen if we have two presi candidates PF and UPND merge, goin by 2006 trends….. things can turn around. how ever i do agree with u over bloggers like Chengelo alumni dont worry about him probably he’s doing 3 jobs & 15 hours or work per day.am sure hes a night guard. you think sending $400 to relatives is development, what gifts cant you are a JOKE. you shold come back to zed you will fill outa’ place.

  47. IWE # 66 MY POINT IS THAT THESE COMMENTS YOU ARE POSTING IMWE BA DIASPORA WONT CHANGE ANYTHING. US ON THE GROUND HAVE ALREADY READ THE SITUATION. IT IS A MATTER OF 30 OCT YOU WILL READ THAT RB HAS BEEN SWORN IN. UNFORTUNATLY FOR YOU WILL JUST READ NOT EVEN HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO WATCH ON OUR LOVELY ZNBC TV. THEN YOU WILL CONTINUE WITH YOUR FOOLISH COMMENTS US WE SHALL BE EATING WELL. COMMENTS ARE YOURS POWER AND MONEY ARE OURS.

  48. #59 Keep the bitterness to yourself if you were denied a visa at the embassy. Keep trying and in the meantime give us a chance to enjoy ourselves whilst we’re still kubulaya. Don’t be cheated dear, this place is good and we send cash back home to support relatives. And who told you that a seating government can not be defeated? Ask Kaunda. Boy, if you’re RB’s nephew, forget about entering the gates of state house.

#69 Chengelo; uli muchende – keep up the spirit.

  49. lets talk about constructive issues and share ideas that will build us ,not silly issues. things have changed here, pipo buy cars like Cell phones,(not on credit) pipo think big and long term. we need a goverment that suits our time, we cant be driving mercedes benz cars in Potholes, or build houses where there are no sewer lines or running water when you are asked to pay land rent and service charges to govt. these are things we want to address. not petty issues. if you out of touch with reality in Zed rather you focus on Obama and macain.

  50. I think rb is the right man, look at his age, i mean the man is full of wisdom, he is mature and a family man and good looking than sata, i am lov`n him.go go go go RB, all bloks on LT are for you.

  51. #69, Chengelo. Musa ba-baama ba-zwa ku-kazungula. Nkabela andime ndilazulwa kuya. So taata, ndiza tuliamukowa. kuti alacikonzya, akaka musa inga wandilemebla lugwalo mu-email. Kuti, kobona mbulikuti ingatwabandika, utamuki kulemba mpoona aawa kutegwa ndakupa iaddress. kopna kabotu calino.

  52. RB go back to the farm MMD time is up we are tired with your lie you have failed to up lift living standards since 1991

  53. HH is the right man for presidency. He is capable of performing even far better than late LPM. Sata as his vice president. Sakwiba Sikota wayilasya.

  54. Zambia can change for the best under the leadership of HH and Sata as vice. If you allow RB then you should except the thieves to finish all the money.

  55. #77 Ba Zambia. I love pople like you who contradict themselves. People buy cars like mobile phones? Yeah right! But you are complaining about those swimming pools on the roads right?

    A car is a necessity!

  56. ba LT ninshi namumpata tee? comment yandi tamuleyi displayer. tamulenjebanako ati ‘you are posting too quickly slow down’. why ba LT Why manchita akapuba? fellow bloggerz i have sent a lot of contributions which hasnt been displayed. help!!!

  57. VJ has assured RB that they will pull thru. Jacob Zuma is not the right person for RSA. but he stands for the people. thats what makes him acceptable . Morgan isnt the best person Zimbabwe but pipo want change they look to him for that. Sata. isnt the best person in terms of personality, charisma or diplomacy, but do we have a choice?? we need change, we need some one who will represent the ordinary person. for now that is Sata if we have to move forward lets settle on PF. K10,000 per liter of petrol, potholes every where.

  58. Tonga Bulls Stand up, # 79 email me at [email protected]… and also send me your email… #76 if you ever run for president i will be your running mate, you are a very eduacted tonga bull and I salute you for backing me up against these ba Kwabalala. Tonga Bulls for life!

  59. # 69,your sentence is supposed to be,” i am also alumnus of kitwe primary school” and “not i am also alumni of Kitwe primary school”.Anyway sorry for the correction and keep up with your hog wash analysis.

  60. # 79 CAN YOU JUST TRANSLAT. YOU JOIN RADIO 1 IF YOU WANT TO TONGALISE THE OFFICIAL LANGUANGE HERE IS ENGLISH. IF YOU DONT KNOW ENGLISH GO TO NIGHT SCHOOL.

  61. #89 What point are you trying to score? I’ve not seen anything different between what you wrote and what Chengelo wrote. And your typing sucks!!!

  62. The least one can do is give out their e-mail address. Batata you are risking ka laptop kenu. There are Nigerians on here!

You are warned. Watch this space!

  63. #91 do u see all these none tongas want to attack us because they see that we will not allow them to steal anymore… Zambia will be saved by TONGA BULLS

  64. If you people u want to choose someone because of experience and CV, then Ludwig Sondashi is yo man. But we need development & change. I think Cosmo Mumba is better than RB(both r useless), dont u think so guys? We need PF-UPND Pact. If RB wins, expect Saki or Ngondo as veep. Viva Sata, Viva HH.
    Kashimani Ka Nalolo

  65. to hell with with r.b.and his tandems of thieves .let’s hope h.h n ba mudala ba sata will heed to merging there has never been a better opportunity to get mmd out

    aluta continua

  66. ZRA has always exceeded collection target. Fuel levy is always collected and no body talk about it. our roads are pathetic yet Duty on used cars is alarmingly High. its works out to about 98% of CIF.
as for Zesco they opted to do a 4000km optic fibre cable costing $43million US. instead of installing gas turbine generators to ease the current load shedding.zamtel should ve been left to carry out links. it appears zesco is comms carrier and Power co.KCM is allowed to buy fuel duty free yet zambian airways is being grilled over a 1.6m debt. its this nonsense we must say no to. PF. should be given a chance!!!

  67. Ala iwe RB! nge ifyo uleyumfwisha bwino? nelyo MMD has done more harm than good…..if people can pay 11pin 4 a kilo of rice or 20pin 4 2 kilos of sugar…while i pay 3pin for rice and 2pin 4 a kilo of sugar here which is one of the rich countries in the world.MMD has ruled this country for many yrs but the economy has shown to get worse than before, donors send cash every time to zed but no one knows where the cash goes ,,i guess its the same cash u using to campaign instead of helping the country and the needy zedian…am sorry for them lucky me.. hey i forgot about the death rate @ zed u do not have proper hosp` there ,,, if u had LPM would have not gone to France

  68. Surely you pipo think HH can rule? Not just yet he needs experience first may be as Sata’s vice.In 1991 we put Chiluba without experience and you saw what happened.HH has never been in government he requires this experience first.Ba Sata has all the neccessary amunition.

  69. #95 there are no nigerians on this blog and you bembas are not smart enough to be fraudulent. u guys are just common thieves. You just steal with no plans!

  70. Iwe chi RB..WAT ISSUE BASED DO U KNOW..iF Mcain and Obama are failing to stick to issues..what worse with Zed politics..You will keep sweating as Sata keeps availing you Upper cuts..one two one two..until you submit..We hear you are trying to bribe HH so he insists on standing and SPLIT the vote…we are watching you with jabs in the meantime…before a knockout blaw..

  71. #90, thanks for your contribution. Please, advise those using other languages like Bemba and Nyanga to use the Official languge too.

  72. Zambia shall never be ruled by a Tonga.Cant you get it thru your thick head. The list will grow Mazoka,HH,Magande, cengelo alumni. You loser.

  73. #106, you are in for a RUDE shock. Please, remove the NEVER in your “Zambia shall never be ruled by a Tonga.Cant you get it thru your thick head. The list will grow Mazoka,HH,Magande, cengelo alumni. You loser.” statement before you regret it or faint for no apparrent reason except your tribal tendencies like Hon. Sata himself.

  74. Nice point #93. Zambia will be saved by best voters of Tonga nature from SP. No trickers will be allowed to get an easy ride to Plot 1 using us.

  75. #106 There can never be a Bemba Bull – maybe a Bemba Goat. Only Tongas are bulls and sorry you’re not one of us – you goat.

  76. Ka Tona. come back to ZEd if you want to see for self. thats why am saying we need a Govt to suit the current times. fix those potholes.there is way too much cars on these roads that were build many years ago, you make noise yet you wont even vote you will not be able to contribute any thing to Zed. i hope when you die there your body will be flown to ZED like LPM Sc. other wise you will be fired @2000deg celcius.and you will be flown here in a Jar.

  77. #112, please. Some of us are on National duties. We are fully Patriotic Zedians and just do the needeful for us – by making sure Hon. Sata does not get anywhere near being the President of Zambia. Then we will come and develop Zed together. Take careful care and be good #112.

  78. #106 are u truely Bemba? I am 100% Bemba but I don’t support your tribal sentments. Zambia can be ruled by any one from any tribe.

  79. Are these real tongas that are decampaigning themselves and hh? Zambia is a nation with 12mullion pipo from 73 dialects in 72 districts. Do they think they own this country? How d they behave given plot one? It will be worse than the family tree. We are talking stoping the ‘teenager with her grand father becoming first lady’ and their tandem of opotunistic thieves. Let me teo you, this guy’s force is so strong with the Village power. It’s near unstopable like the Tsunami. instead of coming together you are putting potential partners off with your tonga nonses.See how you will put HH in power with all the Bulls! You are disgusting.

  80. # 30 you have just spoken the whole truth. RB will be at an advantage if the unit will lead to misunderstandings between the two parties. We pray that it does not.

  81. Sata has denounced the UPND &PF pact today at a rally in Kafue. He says HH shld stand on his Party’s ticket & he’ll stand on his Party’s ticket.I knew this pact wld nt wrk coz of Sata’s selfishness. The man had already settled for top job even b4 the indaba btwn PF & UPND MP’s cld begin. This is the end of Sata coz he cnt win these elections alone

  82. Go Go Goooooooooooooooooooooo ba Sata. Reverse gear. Matako kuntanshi Go ba Sata.

Sata has denounced the UPND &PF pact today at a rally in Kafue. He says HH shld stand on his Party’s ticket & he’ll stand on his Party’s ticket.

  83. #115 Texas, You dont understand what we stand for, its not about the tribe. Its about good governance and no more thieves. Tonga Bulls are educated God fearing and extremely hard working loyal citizens of zambia. We are tired of standing by while the north destroys our Country. It is our Moral Duty to save the country!
Disgusting = SATA and his canoe

  84. Ignorance is a killer to our young ones here. How i wish some of you kept yourselves relevant to the Opportunities of tangibly building your future than wasting time on things you have no control on. Dream on it continuity referendum with MMD.All your parents’ votes are spoiled votes if cast on anyone other than MMD.

  85. #118, thanks for the data. We have always known Hon. Sata to be tricky – and this why he can never be trusted to be at Plot 1. He is only consistent with trying to get to be President of Zambia and everything else changes to suit his ambitions by trickery.

As UNZA monks and momas with well meaning Zambian Citizens, let us make sure Hon. Sata does not get to State House as President. If not HH as President, then RB will be fine for the country Zambia.

HH go for it alone and show them (all-skeptics about your capability to led well) that you can do for Zambia what people of selfish backgrounds do not think.

  86. Those pipo suporting HH dnt even have voters cards. So there4,wheather they dnt want Sata,i’ll surely vote for him bcoz he’s a credible leader. Its like HH & UPND were brought to oppose SATA instead of MMD Which shows that HH does knw what exactly he’s to do.UPND has no vision.

  87. Al u pipo bringing ur useles folish tribalism here..u mean u cnt read pipo’s moods..are u teens?spare us ur stupidity,and if u respnd ur 2 tyms stupid..iritatin hah!!

  88. #115, Texas, I am sad to inform you that I am very disappointed with your mentality on here – LT. Please, re-evaluate your thinking and post sound things regarding Southerners in the name of Tongas. As #121 has rightly put it, we as Tongas demonstrated in 2001 that we mean well for mother Zambia. Even in 2006, we again proved that Zambia was better without Hon. Sata as President of Zambia.

And it is this track record that we are using to say, Tongas will once again help in saving mother Zambia from Trick-stars – in the name of Hon. Sata.

  89. 99% of all comments who support HH & SATA are by ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS who won’t even vote in the coming elections! Your comments are nothing more than HOGWASH coz no one reads them in Zambia except a lucky few. I you wonder why RB thinks you won’t hurt him? Dats coz he knows you are all EMPTY TINS!

  90. MMD is goin bane come 30 Oct we want change if u think RB will continue with Late PLM’s vision thats all sh!t. the truth is RB has no vision of his own and MMD is in sh!t becos PLM is gone.

look at his face his fat eating and enjoying public funds and shagging this tuma 20 year old girls. this is the same chap that is taken to court because he has not payed his workers retirement at that company of his. on top of that salary increaments for minister!!!

I have my doubts about this man. Come 30 Oct vote wisely, how can 10 million people get it wrong.

  91. Well said #123. Sata will never rule this country. If what #118 said is true then the chap has just shot his right foot with his trickery.

If HH can’t get to plot one, then let grand pa with his teenage wife rule us. At least easterners have a thread of morality.

  92. Please ensure that you turn out in numbers to cast your votes and give the MMD a good run for their money. They seem to know that a combined opposition front will test their resolve to the limit.

    May the peoples choice prevail!!!

  93. It is either HH wins the 30th October 2008 or RB for we do not need experiments. Hon. Sata has failed us many times and in many areas. Him and his PF have never held a convention making him a dictator. He single-handedly influenced the expelling of his 26MPs he termed NCC rebel-MPs.

Now, how does a normal thinking and learned Zambian trust your Hon. Micheal Sata? Please, spare us the insults. We know what is good for our great nation Zambia – and nothing will stop us from exercising our right to defend Zambia from inconsistent individuals like Sata. A fair question I have always asked is: why did Chiluba FTJ give the Presidency to late LPM instead of his-close-friend hon. Sata?

  94. #129 yes i am a security guard at a company that gives its security guards unlimited access to a PC and the world wide web. But I will never be a thief because i am not from the North!

  95. Cengelo alumni i have just been corrected the list of Tonga losers is as follows Nkumbula,Mazoka,HH,Magande, and you of course. You will always come close but am afraid you will never get there.Truth hurts. No 114 am not a tribalist.

  96. Pipo in the streets r disappointed with Sata’s u-turn on the UPND & PF pact and most r now looking to HH for the winning ticket btwn these 2 old recycled politicians (Sata & RB).HH run the race,we PF supporters r behind u coz we knw the pwr tht lies in u.

  97. ALL THOSE IN SUPPORT OF MMD, let me warn you after 25 years of rule you will remain as poor as you are now. You make me belive that you are same UNIP chaps that dont like changing for good.

  98. #134, someone said, “actions speak louder than words.” A tribalist is a TRIBALIST and your sentiments indicate nothing short of a full-blown tribalist. You may defend yourself, but we can not be fooled and everyone who reads yours statements in this thread will realise that you are what you are regardless of the defend you can put up.

  99. #118 is dull.Firstly,he ddnt read todays post were UPND said they would continue campaigning dspite the talks.Secondly,he doest understand bemba not noting what Mr ?ata said in kafue.Dear, pliz b4 taulanya ifisu?hi think.I hope my masage wil make u wise.

  100. yaba SATA and HH no compromise then MMD wins again wether we like it or not.

SATA to sell fish thats why he wont win. HH uncertainty clouds it too much.

    MMD wins period

  101. Sata knows that his chances of getting to plot one lie in the hands of the Tonga vote. That’s all the reason why his trying to court them. Sorry sir; you can fool the other tribes all the time but you can’t fool Tongas not even once. We, the Tonga bulls will frustrate Sata’s efforts and ensure that his selfish ambition remains an illusion.

  102. Bambuli you cant wait to hear from HH why the man has changed his mind, i feel this caculator boy is too pompus. Read Sata’s website about the merge, this boy is skitting what do expect?

  103. All bloggers, please do not worry yourselves about who will be winning the elections. HH started campaigining 2 months or so before LPM got sick and eventually died. So the only person who has been READY for these elections among the three: HH,MCS,RBB is HH. The fruits of his timely campaigns will be seen in the next 7 weeks.

Go HH, gooooooooooooooooo. Zambia forward – as even Hon. MC Sata has now copied from the UPND as his message for this coming election.

Zambia shall surely be saved by well-meaning people.

  104. Ba Sata and Ba HH can make a good team if they work towards each others strengths.

Ba Sata is person you either love or hate there are no grey areas as far as describing him can go.

Ba HH is silent worker and represents the future of Zambian politics.

We hope this pact works so that all this tribal talk nonsense can be put to rest.

    One Zambia One Nation forvever!!!

  105. I will be quiet because Nkumbula left us at the hands of northerners and Mazoka was poisoned by them. But i will not cry over spilt Milk. # 134 your day of reckoning will come. Tonga Bulls Im Out

  106. Well put #141, I cannot add more to that. I will now wait for the POST’s new day’s issue at 24 hrs in the next 35 minutes fro news about HH’s progress and Sata’s own destroying of his boat.

  107. For the love of yourself #134, you’re not a bull but as someone earlier pointed out, a goat. All those people you mentioned on your list did not fight in vain. Can’t you see that Southern province is the most developed province outside Lusaka and the Copperbelt. It’s because of the efforts of people like Nkumbula and the like.

  108. Hope Banda will die before he finishes this remaining three years. May be these Tongas can have a chance , if not then all is lost. so Tongas pray hard for the demise of RB

  109. Zambians are full of surprises! You have recovered from the Chiluba era and now you want to go back to the same era via SATA! No idea what planet some people are on.

  110. #151 Jeepers! You’re disgusting – how could you even think of such a thing even if you really want your Sata to rule. Your posting is very disgusting and I’M OUT. I better concentrate on studying P3 (for those doing ACCA) than reading such evil postings.

  111. #75.DISCOVER do not be so foolish by telling us that you are pa Zed that flag on your comments shows that you are not pa Zed.chikamba!!!!!!!!!

  112. the zambian economy is trury doing good. you guys if you try to experiment by choosing a wrong leader we will be like our neighbour, whom i wont mention.

  113. As the bible puts it: A man plans but the Lord directs his course. You will quarel about Sata Vs HH but only God knows whether they will ever presidents for Zambia.

  114. GUYS THIS IS NOT WAT THIS BLOG IS FOR,(SHOOTING EACH AZA ON TRIBAL GROUNDS)LETS BE ISSUE BASED TO HELP AZAS WHO ARE READING TO CHOSE THE BEST PEASON FOR YHE TOP JOB,NO INSULTS PLIZ

  115. #159 do you know the price of mealie Meal, Meat etc? Don’t just judge the economy by the exchange rates, inflation rates and interest rates in isolation. May be as Zambia we should have different indicators to show that the economy is doing well or not. If you are in Zambia u will agree with me that the real income has reduced drastically over a couple of years or so unless your employer has doubled your salary which is unlikely.

Zambia is thriving mainly on donor funding even for elections which is very dangerous.

  116. Ha ha ha! I work for the Intelligence. When PF & UPND had a joint rally 2 months ago, govt panicked 4 their lives tht this pact wld get them frm office.2day govt celebrated wen Sata denounced the pact. What does tht mean to u all?Sata is a big fool !! Am hurt even though am in the system.

  117. #159, How can the Zambian economy be doing good when you are one of the ten most poorest countries in the world? At independence Zambia’s economy was equal to South Koreas but today the South Korean economy is 100 times bigger and stronger! Your ignorance is really disturbing!

  118. Sata has missed an opportunity 2 b pres or vice pres of the republic, thats it for him.HH has a chance depending on how he plays his cards.

  119. #159 somebody is cheating you that the economy is doing well. The best places to see how the economy is doing are Kanyama, Chibolya,Kamatipa (Kitwe), PP Zambia (Chililabombwe), Mushili (Ndola), Chiwempala(Chingola) etc. In Luanshya (some areas) somebody said when u buy mealie meal u hide so that neighbours will not know that u have mealie meal otherwise they will come and ask for assistance (poverty).

  120. Good night bloggers it is already Friday morning here in Zambia. I need to rest for work this morning. God bless you all even those who are insulting.

  121. Even rigging has its limits. I just dont think that any wrigging tricks will be able to win this MMD any votes. The time to change is now. If MMD rejected the annointed Magande. Why should Zambians accept RB as the chosen one to continue Levy’s legacy. Enough is enough!

  122. OPPOSITION UNIP deputy secretary general Reverend Alfred Banda is reported to have said that the Acting President Rupiah Banda has not officially resigned from the former ruling party UNIP.

  123. # 169 Anthony Kasongo elections are never about the candidates appearance, name, or even the ticket he stands on but rather what one is offering like in a marriage proposal (will he better the lives of the people?)

  124. # 170 you also need help and I hope that like me you will travell to go vote because much as desagree with you on wether there is anything as the chosen one or not I think your views are useless if you can’t put them to use (I mean voting my dear).

  125. # 171,

Seemingly, you and your Rev.Katwishi are out of touch with issue based campaign MMD is entrenched in.Hear us,”Political parties are like social clubs, membership is by choice”.One does not need permission to renew party membership or completely stop renewal of it as a way of resignation.A normal and organized party with real time membership data determines its membership by the annual renewals and paid membership card held. Ask yourselves when did RB last renew the UNIP Membership??? When did he last attended to UNIP functions? When did he start uprooting UNIP from Eastern? He has held an MMD card since February 2005.Has UNIP ever sent him a letter asking why he stopped newals?

  126. MMD has access to tools of vetting anyone.Anything disqualified, would not be given access to statecraft at Executive level that RB has been in the last 2 years. Many are the times LPM left him his executive office implied powers. When President Mwanawasa was appointing RB he had all files at hand on RB and as lawyer Wamaloya, he found all files clear and fitting RB in the executive office as No.2 for 2 years now yet Rev.Katwishi and the Post found him fitting. When MMD chooes it has done its thing.MMD at its discretion has capacity to know anything on anyone in and outside the country it has the need to know on.Hence its decisions will never be at the discretion of misfits overrating selves

  127. Pragmatist, Why deny the fact that RB is still UNIP member read the post for today. It shows how you MMD are brainless and crude. It is a matter of fact he is UNIP member and there is no problem with that. Just accept that Levy picked him from UNIP coz you dont have your own members who are seasoned politicians to stand opposition pressure. Come on Pragmatist be real.

  128. HH, pleasee go it alone as UPND. We are sick and tired of these political marriages of convenience. Please, speak to Maureen Mwanawasa(for she knows what late LPMwanawasa had as a vision for Zambia) and see if she can be your Veep when and if you (HH) will win the 30th Oct 2008 elections. The rest of the Cabinet can be kept for a while accept RB whose nomination should end when and if you (HH) take over as President , and then you will replace the remove the non-performing current-Ministers with UPND officials with time as they will mis-do things the UPND and possibly Maureen Mwanawasa way.

  129. Hon. Sata is in need of financial help. Hon. Sata needs the UPND’s votes. To these ends, he is seeking HH to join him (Sata) in a PF-UPND PACT.
On the otherhand, he (Sata) wants to portray or show a picture that it is HH who is not willing to work with him(Sata) so that he (sata) can convince people who lack objective thinking to blame HH as the one who (HH) is not serious wh=ith the possible PF-UPND PACT.
This campaign plan by SATA and his PF has to be frastrated by all well-educated and well-meaning Zambians. Let us who aere knowledgeable no fall to Sata’s tricks which he failed to complet in the Chiluba-led MMD – which was retrogressive in Zambia’s history.

  130. My dear youngman Pafwenamwine # 176,

You are lacking judgement to see how much a zero return your issue is.UNIP is a mother of all party politics in Zambia.Resignation could be a silent issue by non renewal of Membership card which many have done.Mazoka,Mwanawasa, Mark Chona,VJ Mwaanga,Dr,Peter Matoka, John Mwanakatwe and Emmanuel Kasonde,FJT Chiluba all held UNIP membership cards. But have you ever head them staging a rally or press conference announcing their resignations? prolonged none renewal of membership and subscription to MMD registry is authentic resignation. We challenge to produce a UNIP register where RB has his renewal entered since 1997.

  131. VJ Mwaanga has made a lot of mistakes in the past and this time around, I am sure he wants to go downm in the book so Zambia as a man who corrected his errors and reformed for the better, I think. For this reason, he (VJ Mwaanga) will make sure he provides an environment for the most free and fair elections Zambia has ever held.

Just ask yourselves why we are being provided with TRANSPARENT BALLOT BOXES for the first time. probably, in our voting lives as Zambians. This must be testimony that the new-deal MMD government has tried to facelift their image to the common Zambian.

  132. how about the debate among those that want to lead us?tell the voters what u stand for,i mean reall issues baba.we want to c,u RB,if there is nomoney for the sponsor, dont worry, pipo are ready to sponsor the debate,ok?

  133. RB twalanda sana. Nabola tulateya sana nomba ukwingisha awe. Abena RB batila Bola sinjomba yai, koma zigoli. So let us cast our votes and see what happens. RB Zwa.

  134. The thing of meeting the chiefs must be watched closely, it is not a myth that in the past brown envelopes were delivered to the chiefs, watch out for VJ’s hand in this campaign tactic. By the way ba mudala ba Sata is from Chitulika in Mpika, technically he is a subject of the mwine Lubemba and as such he is entitled to attend the Crocodile thing as a royal subject, no one would chase him as they did when he followed the moving coffin!

  135. RB is being overconfident. People are still talking about the infamous salary increment they awarded themselves. By the way, aren’t these the same people who tried to do away with the elections? Where has this confidence come from all of a sudden?

  136. If Banda riggs the polls, it might spark a massive wave of violence like we saw in Kenya, mark my word. The people of this country are sick and tired of being cheated by the same dry old politicians like Mwaanga and unexorcised terrible witches like Katele or indeed lucifer himself, Sata. We need a new breed of politicians and in here I have the likes of M’Membe in mind.

  137. Its high time we stoped looking at these so called leaders for a better Zambia.
What exctraordinary think will sata or hh or rb do? the real heroes of Zambia’s success are the so ‘kaponya” who push the wheelbarows, the farmers who grow their crops without fertilizers or high tech irrigation, the teachers who get peanuts at the end of the day, the doctors who earn a tenth of what their counterparts make.
    MY POINT?
lets stop leader worshiping, lets develop a good work culture, and lets stop complaining about corruption coz we are the ones who let it happen. take action, don’t just complain.
Yes we need leader but we must be willing to be leaders ourslves.
    vote wisely too.

  138. Pragmatist, you cant swallow your unnecessary propaganda.During Kaunda rein, we all were forced to have UNIP cards coz that was the only political party in Zambia. So for you to argue over Levy picking an outsider as VP shows how you lack the stamina and will to achieve what Levy wanted to do. Even this time you dont have real men and women to deliver only to plunder what Levy had achieved through salary increasement 300%. Only pipo like you cant see the will to serve and uplifting the standard of living for those less able to speak for themselves. You are in USA enjoying coz of your shushushu job when you cant even think of your relatives living below poverty line. I do believe levy

  139. Contd: wouldnt have accepted this day robbery by MMD. Who benefits from the so called boom of the economy? The ans is well known. You can use govt resources for elections and claim victory through any means. Democracy is far in Zambia till that time when all political parties will have access to govt resources during elections.

  140. I think certain times we should give credit where its due at this juncture RB has made the most mature speech. The campaign is not to degrade some one or insult, but to tell the people of the nation what that particular party wants to implent once elected.

  141. Ba Chengelo, ala tribalism is bad. It seems you have learned nothing from all the experiences you have gone thru in life. Sometimes you should use yo mirrors and point at the image you see and say you a fool for what you stand for. Bushe kubuTonga tamukula? Amano yatu ITT Supersonic Radio tulya musenda kuchema tayapwa? Ala having cattle is not riches. Ngombe munani. Mention one rich man in the world who boasts of cattle? Ba Masai have cattle, are they rich? Maybe to yo standards. Who wants to eat yo cattle that has foot and mouth disease? Nobody! Ala farming yaliya technological. Moreover few people want to eat red meat. Levy was enjoying red meat, where is he now?

  142. #187 Dini Zulu,

The people that will rig the elections for RB are the opposition. The so called UPND-PF pact has failed to take off, meaning serious split votes resulting in RB having the slight majority vote that will usher him softly into plot 1. By the way, one big advantage of a failed pact is that it will push Sata as far away from plot 1 as possible as it has always been in the past. Personally, i have no serious problems with HH or RB, but i have my worries with Sata in plot 1. If pushed between Chiluba and Sata, i would vote for Chiluba, the later wisely gave us LPM.

  143. Ba Pragmatist, it seems you have very little knowledge or no knowledge about the formation of MMD. Of the people you have sited, who do you say did not announce their resignation from UNIP? And if you have one, what role have they played in the multi party politics? If RB did not announce his resignation that to others for sure could a problem. Public official like RB have to do things publicly. Politics is not like family affairs. If RB is not able to tell the nation which party he represents, that by itself is justification for him not to stand for an election, unless he declares independent. MMD after having him voted as President can declare that he is not one of them.

  144. Voting for Rupiah Banda is allowing UNIP to come back in power. remember nao akesala utupunda twa kuya Abroad and no more apples in Zambia.

  145. Its interesting that RB has done well to memorize the phrase “issue based campaigning”. One wonders when he will pull it off himself and let the nation know what he really stands for instead of hiding in the late president’s vision or legacy. Can he be trusted to be his own man, deliver the goods and inspire greatness in the nation? I doubt it! The sad thing is he is winning

  146. Imwe banthu SATA wamene mulimbilikila ayamba kuyopa he is now asking for some alliance with HH. he calls everyone a tribalist and gets away with it, this time he wont i can assure you. he has lost the Cobra used its last vernom in 2006 and its now a pet providing entertainment. VIVA SATA Lusaka Playhouse and VIVA RB plot one.

  147. #180 Pragmatist, it would appear that you are either ignorantly passive of political history or you are devoid of analytical intelligence. The individuals you have mentioned resigned from UNIP(if ever they were members)by default. The moment they publicly rejected and renounced the One Party state in 1990,it was enough to show the whole world that they did not want to be associated with UNIP.I do not think your RB ever did that.We are not interested in his silent resignation. As someone pointed out earlier, he is a public figure who needs to clarify his party affiliation.Just coz he was handpicked like a tomato does not make him MMD.Inwardly he is still UNIP and a cheap opportunist.

  148. whe RB becomes presda,ma guess is Gen Tembo,Roger chongwe,Tentamashimba,Nervas Mumba will be full cabinet ministers, yaba,i wish ministers were chosen out side parliament bane

  149. Chengelo and Tonga bull you are right. I have seen alot of Bemba postings and nobody has commented. This is one zambia one nation if you can’t get what they are discussing then pass.

  150. HH NEXT PRESIDENT OH MY FOOT. PLEASE CHECK YOUR FACTS. WHERE WILL HE DRAW THE ALLEGED SUPPORT. HE IS SELFISH AND FAILS TO TAKE ADVISE. THOSE IN THE DIASPORA MOST ARE ARMCHAIR CRITICS. WE WANNA VOTE WISELY WHILE YOU JUST CONTINUE CONDEMNING.

  151. #37 are you sure about the UNIP days in those days thats when we had Zambia Airways DC10 those big planes things started changing wen kafupi came. All i can say these elections will be very interesting lets just all perform our patriotic duties by voting wisely and i guess just wait an see. VIVA democracy

  152. 179 who are the well educated and well meaning Zambians, and what % of the voters register do they comprise? Besides I doubt you are in Zambia so your voice will carry no weight at all. The people on the ground are the ones who vote and most of the time they do not go with the so called ‘educated’. Do you know Zambians sure? Yaaba!

  153. Ask RB or Sata – they have the UNIP experience of playing to the tune of the Zambian people. Amasha yamukulu kuboko!!

  154. #28 do you know chilala very well?come to mkushi & kapiri area and get issues concerning ritual muderes.some times find time to vist Zambia for you get things on charecters like chilala.

  155. WITHOUT PF AND UPND PACT ITS AS GOOD AS SECONDING THE PROPOSAL THAT WE FOREGO BYE-ELECTIONS SO THAT MMD CONTINUES.

CONGRATE MMD YOU HAVE ANOTHER 3YEARS

SATA AND HH ARE TO SELFISH TO COME TOGETHER BUT THEY HAVE DECIDED BOTH TO LOOSE.

HH ALSO IF HE MAINTAINS THAT HEART WIIL NEVER BE PRESIDO( ASK MIYANDA). LEARN TO BE HUMBLE AND TAKE TIME TO LEARN POLITICS.

  156. Tulefilila munsenga ba mbuli, better improve on your personal hygiene before you think of sending someone to state house. This is a presidential election where the numbers matters.SATA commands support in densily populated areas. (Lusaka and Copperbelt). With Northern and Luapula in the bag already,Winning 80% of the votes from Lusaka, Kitwe, Ndola, Chingola, Mufulira, Luanshya,Chililabombwe, Kabwe, Kapiri Mposhi and some areas from Kapiri towards N/Province, You are all sank.

  157. #196..What if he penetrates Lusaka. that doesn’t count my friend. The people that count are the rurals. they are unable to decide wisely, they are easily convinced by Shake Shake and Pamelaz.remember what happened to sata in 2006: he had support in the urban areas Lsk and CB but lost because of the rural voters. i suggets the introduction of weights so that maybe rural areas votes should carry less weight (maybe 0.5). and those in urban areas should carry 1.

  158. A critical analysis for this BY-ELECTION RB can only win if OP are involved because it is understood that even this time around they will rig for RB they are bosting being bought new BMW to use in this BY-ELECTION 30 of this vehicle and it beleived that 10 are on the copperbelt. Look out for these people. we live with them if they to rig they will pay.

  159. sata loves the limelight too much….his know it all mentality is dangerous. The way he treats those under him eg MPs is pathetic.I wonder ,really wonder if he can democratically accept to leave plot 1 for any reason what so ever….i wonder

  160. What my fellow bloggers should ask is why virtually all initiatives for a political pact between PF and UPND are coming from the PF and not the UPND. To date, the only high ranking member of the UPND who has warmed up to the idea of a PDF/UPND pact is their Vice President, Kapita. The others have adopted a hard line position that they should take a leadership role in whatever pact emerges. These hardliners actually believe UPND is a stronger and bigger party than PF!Their position is that a pact is only acceptable if HH becomes president in the event of a victory and Sata takes the vice presidency and the cabinet positions are shared equally. These UPND hardliners are not ready to compromise

  161. The only problem we have here is VJ “trik star” this chap needs to be observed. Or else we will find ourselves in the hands of MMD. If u look at last elections honetly which village here in zambia have a population of millions of people.these were all lies.

  162. Let us be realistic.
RB is more popular than any other candidate.
The only possibility of real challenge would have been if SATA and HH formed a pact.
But since both HH and SATA want to rule, the pact is already a flop.
Sata already declared in Kafue that there is no such a thing as PACT with HH, he is ready to stand.
Right now chiefs are campaining for RB in villages while Sata and HH think it is unnecessary to associate with villagers.
And you sata’s supporters, instead of going to villages to campaign for your leader you are busy blogging, oh!
RB has support from all corners, while HH and SATA it is their favourite line of rail, which they split among the 3 of them.
    Wait and see!

  163. For those against RB too Bad because he is going to win! Sata is not a trust worthy character and HH does not have national presence!

  164. banda shud not be cheated by cardres who are saying hes got support in all provinces…let them buy us chibuku and fwaka but we wont vote for them,,,sata++hh=win pabwato kwaza kubele

  165. Max IS RIGHT…why is HH quiet!!!! If HH thinks he can go it alone..SORRYYYYYYYYYYYY. He better start doing something else other politics..maybe CHARITY WORK. If HH and SATA do not unite..Then RB WINS…plain and simple. Forget about 2011..RB would have consolidated himself by then…Politics in Zambia is a very unpredictable game…someone completely new might come on the scene in 2011….HH will be irrelevant..MARK MY WORDS

  166. You guys like #221, where do you get this data about line of rail, this is what the MMD was saying in 2004-2006, Sata will be a walkover but guess what Mwanawasa beat him by not more than 400,000 votes which means if HH did not stand there is a possibility Sata would have won the election!!!

  167. THIS TIME IT IS UNIP, PF AND UPND. MMD HAVE SILENTLY GIVEN UP AND SECRETLY HANDED OVER POWER TO UNIP. RB HAS NEVER BEEN MMD MEMBER. THEREFORE, HOW CAN YOU BRING A PARTY INTO POWER AGAIN WHICH HAS FAILED TO FIND THEIR OWN PRESIDENT FROM THE PARTY BECAUSE OF UKUITEMWA.TOTAL CONFUSIONS.

I URGE AND ADVISE RB IF HE WILL BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT TO DISSOLVE THE CURRENT CABINET FIRST AND APPOINT NEW PEOPLE FROM UNIP HIS PARTY AND OTHERS FROM OUTSIDE SO THAT THESE MMD CROOKS KICKED OUT.

A RULING PARTY WITHOUT A LEADER SIMPLY MEANS LEVY WAS THE ONLY LEADER. NO WONDER HE DID NOT FIND ANYONE TO SUCCEED HIM BECAUSE ALL ARE FOOLS AND CADRES WITHOUT CALIBER

  168. Badala ba chengelo alumni its too much, what are the Bembas done to you. please live them alone. Am a Tonga lady married to a hard working, kind and intelligent Bemba. Its people like you my brother that cause civil wars. imagine what zambia can be, if you were president. GOD FORBID.

  169. Let Chilala continue feeding the nation. That is a fundamental contribution he makes to our nation. Dont polute him with politics please.

  170. OPPOSITION UNIP deputy secretary general Reverend Alfred Banda yesterday said Vice-President Rupiah Banda has not officially resigned from the former ruling party. …

  171. All i can say is i feel sorry for poor OLD RB. Nobody genuinly thinks he is the man for the job. No one in a million years would ever consider him for PRESIDENT….not even Levy himself. He just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

If he does get into office it will be because the opposition doesnt look too good at the moment otherwise humpty dumpty would have fallen off the wall.

  172. Fellows stop talking about the pact coz Sata blatantly refuted such claims yesterday. Speaking in his usual vernacular, the Cobra rejected ever having entered a pact with UPND suggesting HH to be president. So u c what we meant that he’s such an inconsistent person. The other day while in monze, he was quoted saying he can take a background role and let HH be president, yesterday while in Lsk he vehemently refused the idea. And such a man should be trusted to lead this country? It’s pity Zambia is currently suffering from ‘Leadership Deficiency Syndrome’ (LDS). We can’t find a selfless leader this time around, they all want to champion personal agendas! God save us from these venomous humans

  173. #221 did you carry out an opinion poll recently!stop cheating you have only hears the voice of MMD party followers not the voice of all the people in the rural areas

  174. Ba Chengelo, if this is the alumni for Chengelo that beautiful school that produces some of the best young men, now I think you are not a chengelo alumni. .

  175. MMD is keeping too many retired people in government ministries, the police, army, airforce, Embassies etc. Many have passed the legal retirement age of 55. These people have gotten their pensions and are back on the pay roll. This is theft of public funds. It needs to be checked. RB will still keep them because they were appointed and held by LPM. That is one reason RB should not be voted in.Let the young people take over and overhaul the civil service. The civil service is on go slow. Help mother Zambia.

  176. #230 what is interesting to note is that the post newspaper has of late become fond of printing news that benefits their cause.i.e.
their editor showed partiallity towards the Magande/Maureen camp which led to sata’s tongue lashing.
Now with UNIP still holding claim to RB the post is more than willing to publish that article in the hopes it will ruin his chances.

  177. This election will be won in the rural areas. RB is confident not becoz they will rig, no but becoz he knows the votes are in the rural areas.Sata & HH will campaign and try and win the votes in the urban areas but already these we all know will be shared amongest the three or is it two aspirants.Be real, RB will win Eastern, N/Western, Western & Luapula. He will get good votes from Northern, Lusaka, Central and Copperbelt.Sata will will Copperbelt, Northern & Lusaka. Get a few votes from Luapula and Central.HH will win in Southern with some votes from Lusaka, Copperbelt, Central & Western. Unless the opposition adequately strategise & forge as 1 and win the rural vote, am afriad RB will win.

  178. Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall as acting vice president…..Humpty Dumpty fell hard off the wall when he tried to be president……and all the king’s mulongoti’s and king’s vj’s couldnt put humpty together again.

  179. No.234 kiniti zabulezi yoo. Sata ubata kubusa ni HH niyena ubata nto yeswana.Bohi the pact is the only way and since we dont have one, we are doomed tate

  180. #212 Anonymous – While I appreciate the views being expressed on a pact I feel if such a victory was achieved there would be more confusion than unity can be achieved. The problem with our current political leaders is that they are all power hungry. Coming up with someone to lead the nation would be a debate that would destroy the same pact. They have tried these pacts before – Nevers and Ben, HH and Nawakwi, Sata and Sakwiba… On the other hand Zambians would be cheated because if these guys need a genuine pact it should never come at the time of elections. Why can’t they work together even before the polls come to mind. If PF and UPND formed a pact my vote will be unfortunately RB’s.

  181. No 224 HH is quiet because kuli nkani zama plots.Read today”s Daily Mail on the web.Bafuna kumu caya contempt of court. They will arrest him and then release him after the elections.MMD is a govt of laws.In this way there will be no pact with PF.

  182. Baneee, there’s a nice campaign song on Sata web, we shall play and dance to it when RB Wins go RB go Wako no wako, umozi ku mawaaa , yafika time yafikaaa, let these Tonga -Bemba now sit and watch mature people in power.EASTERN POWER YAFIIKAAAAAA….

  183. Unless the opposition adequately strategise & forge as 1 and win the rural vote, am afriad RB will win

  184. VIVA RB go for it big man, we are behind you. We can not give this country to this jokers. HH/SATA non stater. You will tell me in near future.

  185. I just recently learnt that the flags on your postings are indicative of where all u cowards who are posting comments are taking economic refuge or is it asylum from. Its amazing how unpatriotic punks like you can get the nerve to comment on what is going on here and attempt to sway the voting zambian public with your silly ideas and base thoughts. All you talk about is nothing but crap. Leave the debate to us who have weathered the storm here back home. Come on guys give us a break and apply that crap to your host countries that you do slave labour for.

  186. these tonga bull s#@t i think we nid to rid zed of such useless creatures. we’re taliban ka dont push us even bush has failed us.watch it you tonga bull s@#T

  187. Anyone interested in watching the Late LPM arrival from france/Egypt and Zambia follow the mega video link below i believe it might be there for only there for 24 hours

    megavideo.com/?v=7UMHEESD

note before the video buffers you will have a poker popup just close it

i have found all the links but i will see if there is a way for me to post all of them because you need password RIP

  188. #77…”pipo buy cars like Cell phones”…I think is what is wrong with the situ back home. Buying foreign produced wasting assets like cars and cellphones. Why, why, why?!!! What good does that do to our country? Mind you the per capita income (average yearly income) is still less than $400. Why not invest this money to build businesses and factories that will employ many people. These can even be car or cellphone factories. The chain reaction of spending, then, trickles down to even more and more people. Think outside the box!

  189. Personaly, cant vote for RB.What good legacy did he leave when he was in power? We need people who can work and leave a goodmark otherwise, its a HUMPTY DUMTY story. And please let RB explain about NAMBOARD(NKHANI,SIMAOLA)

  190. 234. mulozi wa niti,

I pity all those who cant see reality on the ground.
It will be terrible to think 2006 election results are still something you can rely on.
You better read times and events, otherwise you will remain in the past.
The enonomy was not as certain in 2006 as it is now; some benefits have began to show up which have even caused sata to admit that he does not need to chase Chinese. Sata has seen that, I hope you seen it too. That and many other areas of development have changed public opinion about MMD.
In short the politica environment has changed since 2006, fewer chances now for the opposition.
If you can’t see this wait for your shock!

  191. whether pact with UPND or not, we are going ahead voting 4 SATA.by the way guyz no matter wat HH will never rule Zed coz he is not a politician but a GOOD MAN.Leave RB to make noise and he will be shocked.

  192. Actuall i think Gabriel u are an Angel. where were have u come from? pliz help us make micheal sata chilufya win the by elections.VIVI PF

  193. Wednesday 10th September :Presidential hopefuls Rupiah Banda and Hakainde Hichilema dashed to watch the Zambia vs Togo soccer match in Chililabombwe. The two were welcomed into the stadium to the sounds of deafening chants…. Rupiah! Wawa! HH! Wawa!..Sata!..Pabwato! Pabwato!

  194. RB claims MMD is strong enough to win the Elections, is he MMD or UNIP? What is his MMD Card number.
UNIP is coming back to power with RB in Government. MMD goes with Levy. Who is the MMD going to feature in 2011 since the hand picked RB will openly be under the UNIP ticket where he has a Party Card?

  195. hey guys HH is a good man very brave but he is not a politician but a business man and will never rule zambia. PACT or not we are voting PABWATO

  196. Following Zed politics is like listening to the story from the Zambian writer series of ”Kaleya Mateyo’s Iliyashi lya mutatakuya (the never ending story)”. Only this time, the audience is so full of assumptions and will not let the story flow. There is too much demonising of charactors and insulting of actors to the point where, the weak minded have become victims of false analysts, strategists and campaigning cadres without ethics. This has resulted in confusion and current trend of Zambians voting for the liked charactor despite the clear cut short comings of the individual as a leader (blind followers).

  197. A hint When RB wins mulungoti will be VP,teta GRZ spokes person and magic katele will be cleared with cases and become foreign affairs minister.Christon tembo aka,vj foreign service atleast for three years.Rb will be grooming mulongoti for 2011 but there will be wrangle coz katele wants to be candidate 2011.they are also aiming to bring sata down to his knees.Ba sata tabali clear about the pact with mwanamucende hichilema.

  198. cont’d
It makes one wonder whether we really want to see the good ending in the story or we are simply agents of our own doom.

  199. Please stop this tribal discussion on this well meaning web. But remember there are no Bemba bulls, since when? there are only Bemba Fish or he goats. shut up.

  200. This time its PF nangu bateya njuka, If they give just take and eat but dont vote for MMD, ‘Umelembwe wachipuba wapwilile muntumfweni’RB will remain broke and alone after elections, naka sweet 16 kazabasiya! umugazebo wakalipa?

  201. iwe DX dont you know we bring back forex to zed and build big houses thats what literate people call development.go to nite school you fool

  202. RB IS EDUCATED BUT HE IS NOT SHARP AND INTELLIGENT POLITICALLY. HE PAST HIGH POSITIONS HE HELD IN OUR COUNTRY HAVE FULL OF HIS FAILURE RECORDS. HE IS AN EDUCATED LOW CALIBER MAN WITH LESS LEADERSHIP WISDOM COMBINED WITH LOW PERSONAL MORALS WHICH MAKES HIM EVEN PROUD OF MARRYING UMWISHIKULU WAKWE.
HE IS NOT EVEN PRESENTING THE WISH OF MWANAWASA BECAUSE THE PEOPLE SURROUNDING HIM WERE THOSE FIRED BY MWANAWASA BECAUSE OF THEIR INCOMPETENCE. IF HE WINS THIS ELECTIONS WHICH IS LIKELY, HE IS GOING TO BE A TRAGIC HERO.
WHEN MMD WERE CHOOSING RB, THEY FIRST LOOKED AT WHO CAN FAVOUR THEIR PLUNDERING PLANS, SECONDING BY WHO CAN WIN AND PROTECT THEIR INTEREST AND PAST MISTAKES THAN LEVY’S WISH.VERY SAD

  203. too much hatred for Bemba speaking. Please remember that they account for 49% of the population,so if they can vote the way Tongas do it, then they can always put their choice at state house.

  204. A serious thinking person can’t vote for R.B.the guy does not know why he is in politics, how can a presidential candidate of a party belong to two political parties and worse still marry a wife who is as young as his daughter. If he can’t respect the constitution of the MMD and the rule of Nature(Thou shall not marry your daughter) Then are you sure he is going to respect the rule of law and later on the constitution of Zambia. It is only logical that Sata is the next president just look at the turn of events.Sata gets sick reconciles with LPM and Levy dies.Who ever imagined sata could reconcile with LPM?

  205. Correction.. What if he penetrates Lusaka. that doesn’t count my friend. The people that count are the rurals. they are unable to decide wisely, they are easily convinced by Shake Shake and Pamelaz.remember what happened to sata in 2006: he had support in the urban areas Lsk and CB but lost because of the rural voters. i suggest the introduction of weights so that maybe rural areas votes should carry less weight (maybe 0.5). and those in urban areas should carry 1. This is because people in the urban areas are able to see and judge rightly.. not ise kumunzi!!!!!!!!!!

  206. #251 Uchipo, I went to the site it’s not yielding any tangible results. yest I can see “Late President Zambia Levy Mwanawasa” but there’s no way to get the video playing.

  207. Those who are supporting the sinking bwato – please explain to me how having Sata at plot 1 will benefit Zambians? In 2006 his main gimmick was anti-chinese rhetoric verging on xenophobia. He now says that he does not mind the chinese so what is it that he has to offer? Please enlighten some of us. What is Sata’s vision for Zambia in twenty years time? What are his policies on education, HIV/AIDS, the agricultural sector, rural development to name a few?

Also, can you please show me how the PF as a party is democratic and how decisions are made in that party?

  208. It is necessary to agree and reach a compromise as opposing factions if
    • the end results weigh heavily against both sides
    • the end result will only work to the advantage of a third party
    • One side has more experience in the field beneficial to the other.
    • Their goals are for the benefit of the electorate
In the case of HH and MCS as opposition leaders, HH stands to gain executive experience from MCS for him to stand a better chance of leading in 2011. It is important to note that they must be encouraged to include intonation of the benefits of their pact to the country and its people with an emphasis on good governance.

  209. Someone said that if you are fighting with a blind man and he sounds over-confident, check his foot – he might be standing on a stone which he will fling at your face when he gets the opportunity. What stone is RB standing on? VJ? I hope he does not make the mistake of underrating King Cobra, because RB is a new player in the current political scenario. Sata has been down this road before, and he should know all the perilous corners by now. Watch out, uncle Bwezani!

  210. The best man here for plot 1 is no other than HH.Which ever way you look at it. Fellow youths lets support this man who is near to our hearts.A vote for HH in these elections is a success for mother zambia and a vote for Sata or RB is minus (-) to the development and progress of mother zambia.VOTE HH!!

  211. Tonga bull? My foot! Tonga losers sounds better. You shall always be led .You cant lead twakana. If not sata then ba RB.The alternative will invite a coup.

  212. RBmust realise that its not up to him. We dont even know much about him other than that hes an old timer. this is an insult to us the young pipo… who says we cant lead.. we dont need old men in state house enough is enough we want fresh blood…. talema please

  213. No283 Akapilipili you must be right. So far no Sata supporter has attempted to answer my questions. Please educate some of us as to what Sata has to offer Zambia. You never know, you might even convince us to vote for him.

  214. For those of you supporting HH (hakaivotela heka) please this guy cant win he has no political experience he just came from nowhere.Just as much as he is good at stealing privitised money and then investing for personal wealth does not make him a potential president lets face it the guy is a thief and we cant trust.Viva Pabwato!

  215. Man or woman with a censored name “bemba bull”, please note that stealing or copying without permission other people’s customary titles or names may be criminal.

  216. Sadam Hussein family is being kept by Kaunda. Umu Chinese naiba passport yandi. I will build you houses in 90days. How many shant compounds in Zambia? Are they not more than 90? Bufi!!!!! Sata is backward. Bembas are good people but do not be misled by Sata. Only Sata can say who is a tribalist. 2006 it was HH, now it is RB. Zambians wake up!!!!!!!!

  217. #285 – CHIBUKU MOSI; SURF THRU michaelsata.co.zm, Sate gives us tangible and workable promises. I’m afraid HH needs practical xperience, you can not gorvern theolatically, gorvanance calls for sound xperience.

  218. #2 What have you seen in sata surely? Are so blind that you have not even any good economic changes that have come into being in the last few years that levy was in power? I think you need a big spectacle to see these changes. Please remove the ones you are putting on ( I mean the ones that only see sata alone). You should give credit were it is due. Sata is a finished chap who just needs some rest like Kaunda and his minions. Sata is old mwe bantu twapapata. Nangu nimbwa ngayali ikali nga yakota ishala fye neshina ati yali ikali….lets not compare the way he was kudala and today……

  219. Sata fired his own MPs for agreeing to work with NCC. Now he is calling them back.Dont you see the kind of a dictator you want to put in power. That is a clear warning. Dictators should never be given a chance to be president. You will never dialogue with them. The age of dictators is over.Zambians are not blind. Even the nick name of King Cobra is a clear warning of his danger. Most people who fraternise with snakes die of snake bites.A person who underates other tribes should have no room to be president in Zambia.

  220. This man called Hakaivote Himwine (HH) will end up just as PRESDO CANDIDATE in his all life time – nothing more nothing less. He has tried before, he is trying this time and will try again and again – nah!!!

  221. So God did not bless Zambia mwe! If Sata is the kind of person who people with their eyes open, without any intimidation or violence vote for, then I see no future for our country. The whole purpose of democracy is to ensure that dictators are not able to rule us and make us suffer and yet here people are thinking of voting for somebody with dubious democratic attributes, who wanted the Chiluba third term and was part of that governemt that brought high corruption to Zambia. He does not even bother to foster unity amongst Zambians and thinks that Bemba is the only language worth speaking. Can you imagine how he will embarass us at international meetings? Anyone remember Idi Amin?

  222. sata ni mbuzi….busy smoking himself to hell. Imagine Sata’s portrait as president. Too ugly any its IMPOSSIBLE for Satana to rule. He should just go to Mpika as a ward chairman.
Most of you chaps are not registered voters, can not stand in a queue for more than one hour and your wishes for Sata and HH are like empty tins making useless noise. Sata western Province = Zero votes, Central = Zero, Eastern =zero, Nwestern=Zero, Southern =Zero, luapula =zero How can he win. Forsake Njoka. Time wasters.

    RB ya pa mbale

  223. What is this crap about HH-Sata merging, It wont work because they are both greedy to be no.1. HH has claerly stated that he MAY CONSIDER sata to be his no.2 when he gets to plot 1. HH should go it alone and forget about the finished Sata who will have no teeth by the time he finishes his campains. It would be foolish for a fly to accept to be closed up with a dead corps….

  224. #293. I wish to humbly ask you to stop talking about KK in these discussions. KK’s great contribution to Zambia’s freedom and Africa as a whole we are enjoying should be well understood by all who can read or know about where we are coming from. KK is highly honoured in the whole Africa. Ask the Mozambicans, ask Madiba(Mandela). He is an African hero not recognised by the likes of you in Zambia. Waiting to honour him only when he dies. What a shame!

  225. Can someone advise RB that the post he inherited must not go to his head…whenever I see him…I see UNIP!!!..and there is no way we are going back to UNIP..
Advice to MMD..ditch RB if you want any chance at winning

  226. I have never seen this level of foolishness, how can one see future in Sata, RB and HH. They are all questionable characters. Capwa nomba the country again goes to the dogs, back to square one.

  227. Hi all, Let me attempt to answer the seemingly easy question that Chibuku Mosi is belaboring on. What is PFs promise thru Sata as President? The PF promises 1 to lower the high taxes 2. They promise to create employment thru empowering the common Zambian through small scale business 3. They promise to have a lean Gvt as opposed to the huge and unnecessary portfolios that we ( 2 Ministers of Agric ) 4 . They will not have ZRA ruin people businesses thru unwarranted taxes at borders and in any trading place. 5 . They will provide a conducive work environment through meaningful workers participation in gvt. 6. They will not create extra organs to pursue agendas which are not there.

  228. I have seen Michael Sata’s website. It is just populist nonsense. Zambians also have to be aware of the fact that internationally, image counts. Investors, will not want to come and put their money in a country that is run by somebody who is inconsistent and seems to always want to play to the crowd. African countries despite the investments that they have seen in the past couple of years, still struggle to attract FDI compared to Asia and Latin America. You therefore need somebody credible and somebody you can trust. From what I have seen, Micheal Sata is not that person.

  229. #305.It is good you have cleared that. Now where were we? Ok, Where then do you put our RB? Is he not in the same era and should rest? #293 you have a point. When RB becomes president all the retired will be brought back to work. Those retired and still serving will continue to do so. LPM kept them. Check in all the ministeries and embassies. These instituitions are full of retirees, and yet we say there are no jobs in Zambia. Let the retired go and rest.

  230. I think this issue of saying that ba Sata is a joker is not correct. People of Zambia please give the Man a chance. He is a man of action. Look UNZA is closed because of the selfish ministers (MMD at play) and you can only understand how these guys work when it hits you. I have felt it and I know the it is time MMD left the platform. The party is full of crooks. Please Zambians wake up!! HH can lead us in 2011 but for now PF to clean up the system.

  231. #309,Dongo na Sundu. Dont give up when the choice is limited. Out of what is presented you can make some intelligent sampling. After, all I also doubt if everybody wherever you are or work trusts you or honour you.

  232. Indeed RB is confident.Ask yourself why ?
    1. He has state machinery and resources to his abuse and advantage
2.VJ is busy polishing up his election dribbling skills.Electronic posting nonsense, transport hickups,he will use the fuel shortage excuse to delay and divert or exchange Ballot boxes.
3.RB is still UNIP thru and thru. MMD will use him as a rubber stamp to champion their cause. Xavier Chungu is coming back after October 30th.Watch out for more sad drama.Court cases will be thrown out against Plunderers.FTJ will be a Hero !!!!
    VOTE WISELY GUYS.

  233. kwena ba RB mwachapumka ye!!U even have such guts.
You guyS!Mrs banda(27) as First lady? i think she will change her title to MISS ZAMBIA! thats if RB doesn eye another younger momma from our colleges or somewhere around the world.

By the way have you seen the New Revolution vice president on page 10 of todays post(11,sept,08)?imwe someone say somthing about her

  234. I think the Post, some sympathisers and Magande have something to hide which they are scared off stiff. Today’s headline did not merit any news at all to be the main item. I was UNIP in 1990, and i was a member of the branch executive committee at that time, my bosses were Wezi, Shepande, William Banda, etc. When i joined the MMD, i just bought my card at the rally at Pope Square and that was it. I never wrote a letter to Freedom house or somewhere else to announce that i quit UNIP. MCC shepande became UPND MP for Nangoma at one time, did he write to UNIP to tell them that he quit UNIP. Magande was UPND, can he produce a letter that he wrote to Mazoka that he quit UPND when Levy picked him

  235. #312 RB is same as others. But guys lets face facts, the older the wine the better. So the battle is between RB and Sata…….HH is still fermating…..and will take long to mature into a good wine

  236. Ba # 317 Banda for President? President for which County? Hopefully not our Zambia.

    Bushe allow me to ask few questions which am hoping my fell bloggers will respond to;
    1. RB is going to beat Sata/HH using what?
    2. RB says the Zambian people are concerned only on Development,
What Development plans has he explained to the Zambian People?
    3. Are our girlfriends safe under his presidency IF he goes through pantu he loves tu sweet mid and late 20s zona? ( Sorry non- developmental question)

    4. Does RB have any plans on Tax reduction for us the workers?

Kindly someone to answer me those Questions pantu Ba RB is not worth my vote

ONE LOVE AND FOR LOVE WE LIVE

  237. Former minister (opanda chinto)minister without portfolio how much
tax payers money was he paid on that useless position?

When plunders were at it,he was part of that Govt.I can trust him if he had also resigned just like late LPM.

Now he wants to be Zambia’s presido at all cost, with out an election
in his own party. what a shame to those supporting blindly.

  238. SATA IS A FLIP FLOP. Supported FTJ 3rd term but he was also inetrested in the seat, fired MP’s now wants them back. Post was bad ill manreed and sued now reconciled and running his campaign – maybe money changed hands. HH is under 5 now they can work together.
Do you think Sata can be no.2 to HH. Over his body or vice versa….kaya
These politicians are playing with fire. They will get burnt. Share votes…I think Ben Mwila should also stand. Machungwa is campaning for RB
sata wake up rhetoric wont help u

  239. It appears as though Zambian Airways has been asked to remit thier debt without further delay.

They are six months behind in arrears.

The headline articles are simply an attempt to cry foul. Apparently, other Airlines are having arrears as well but no preferential treatment has been accorded to them.

3 million US Dollars is no small amount. Mmembe will try everything possible to salvage something out of it.

  240. I agree with 323. Anybody who supported kafupi’s third term bid does not deserve to be president of Zambia. Can you imagine where we would be now if Sata and kafupi had succeeded? What makes you so sure that when he comes into office he wont resort to his old tricks especially him having proved himself to be a flip flopper. Atleast if the organisation of his party was democratic then you might give him the benefit of the doubt. Surely, if you believe in democratic principles then you would make sure that the organisation that you lead was also democratic.

  241. Can someone please tell me why a primary school graduate (eg Hon Sata) should rule Zambia when we have university graduates (HH and RB) on the Presidential race?

I would rather we all focus on HH and RB for Zambian Presidency this time around and move on like this in future.

Otherwise, how shall we continue with the much talked-about-legacy late President LPM (a UNZA graduate) left if we shall retrogressively vote in grade 7 people into Plot 1?

  242. The ‘Post Newspaper’ has found itself between a ‘hard rock, and a frying pan’. The sheltering powers(Mangande) they were relying on have simply lost the influence and their (Post) continued sharp and in most cases unjustified criticism of GRZ has not helped either.

  243. Mr ku klux klan icengelo alumni where are you ? Are you still sleeping ? See the way bloggers are demeaning your superman HH.Say something please.Remind them of the chitenge ministry that Sata will head under HH govt.

  244. Chibuku Mosi, you say the PFs site is full of popularist nonsense. Could you pliz outline to me and us all what is contained in the other parties promises. I feel that if it is popularist we have no experience with them. However we have a record and a bone to chew with MMD who have not met any promise they made. So what nonsence are u talking about. They have closed UNZA, they want to pay themselves 3000% increaments, Fuel is high, They have in place bad laws such TV liencence, Roads are bad thru out the country side. Ministers are arrogant and many more they are rethoric and full of bull sh….t. pardon my laungauge.

  245. ‘The Post Newspaper’ reconciliation with Michael Sata has been seen by many, as a desparate attempt to garner the needed support against the anticipated negative response from GRZ following attempted debt settlement deals between GRZ and debt ridden ‘Zambian Airways’ whose shareholders include ‘The post Newspaper’.

A consented and combined campaign by the two is seen as a formidible tool to tip the Presidential campaign to SATA’s favour and hopefully drive him to form the next government.

However, many have seen this alliance as too weak and ill timed.

  246. ‘The Post Newspaper’ reconciliation with Michael Sata has been seen by many, as a desparate attempt to garner the needed support against the anticipated negative response from GRZ following attempted debt settlement deals between GRZ and debt ridden ‘Zambian Airways’ whose shareholders include the owners of ‘The post Newspaper’.

A consented and combined campaign by the two is seen as a formidible tool to tip the Presidential campaign to SATA’s favour and hopefully drive him to form the next government.

However, many have seen this alliance as too weak and ill timed.

  247. #332. What elections were held in both UPND and MMD other than going to the convertion to have an opinion rubber stamped. The Circus of a converntion that the UPND and MMD are called election.U are either naive or are simply feable in the way you carry out yo analysis. Grow up.from what u are saying is that if I have done wrong I should not talk about correct things. What shallow thinking. Just ask those you support to start parking. The Hour of reckonig is now.

  248. ‘The Post Newspaper’ and SATA alliance is mucked with ill motive besides its wrong timing. The two have previously been known to have reconciled before and this latest attempt is seen in the light of the Presidential elections.

SATA is also courting UPND for a possible Political Pact with a the aim of fielding a single candidate between the two Political Parties-Sata’s ZANU-PF and UPND’s HH.

The Zimbabwe branch has just managed to secure a negotiated power sharing settlement in Zimbabwe with the assistance of southafricas Thabo MBEKI.

The investor community is aprehensive of a SATA regime as threats of expulsion have previously been propagated from SATA’s ZANU-PF as was the case in Zimbabwe.

Mugabe apparently is Michael Sata hero.

  251. bloggers I am not Bemba, but the tribal sentiments I get from our so called “rich man” supporter and his tongo bulls put me off. I was for HH, but not anymore, these people can bring ethnic divisions in our peaceful zambia, I would rather go for sata who able reconcile with others and not these hardcores.

  252. The fools jus took advantage of sata’s popularity, some of them are not mp material like mulojas of kwacha kitwe, apena kumaule chikamba ati ba mp. Liv sata alone

  253. Bemba Bull, Anonymous at #341 has a point.Perhaps you were not in Zambia in the last election when Sata ordered Dr Kanganja that Mugabe and a host of presidents he admires should immediately be invited for his inauguration at Independence stadium. The tone of instruction was full of venomous vengence. Is this the man you would trust to lead a country to prosperity. Tribalism will not take you anywhere. For your information, to think you are better based on tribe is similar to a thinking that whites are more human and superior to any other race which is a sign of being uneducated.

  254. Didn’t Sata say he will build houses in 90 days? To me that is p opulist. Nobody is saying there are no problems in Zambia. But you have to admit that the economy has been doing pretty well lately. If Sata had had his way things would be different. He was being populist when he was castigating the chinese koma lelo chakoma bwanji? Why has he flip floped over the Chinese issue? What concessions has he got from them which changed his mind? His stance on the Chinese showed lack of vision – China is going to be a superpower very soon. You cant start picking fights above your weight – you will lose. Only this time it will be Zambia that loses

  255. Nearly every African country today is thriving on China’s easy lending hand. Sata is anti-China and supports Taiwan. Even Malawi that suppoted Taiwan has gone to China. It would be suicidal for Zambia to ditch China if Sata came to power. Do you know how much we owe China but still continue to borrow from China? How do you put a person as president who has no diplomacy? A man who never admits his wrong moves.Do you see any national presidential qualities. We need a leader that carries the national identity.Generally Zambians are gentle people that have alot of respect for one another.

  256. When an Ostrich sees a charging predator it hides its head in the sand thinking that it has hidden its whole body.

Dont decieve your self. I am busy painting a picture here and you are disturbig me eh.

By the time I finish painting this picture no one will be in doubt what I have painted.

I will invite you to my Art lessons if you dont mind.

  257. Zambia is a land of paradoxies.

People want Sata so that he brings development . Thats like expecting a lemon tree to bear apples – this is dreaming/fantasy of the highest order.

If you want apples , plant apple trees. Similarly , if you want development vote for men of substance who can bring development.

May be we should Big Ken to stand

  258. 330.Maestro Hhehhehhehhe; the answer to your question is simple: We’ve tried those with so-called degrees and they have failed us miserably! What have got to lose?

  259. Now that he is running for Presido, Rupiah Banda must assure us in no uncertain terms that he is not going to put his signature approving those salary increments for himself and his cohorts. Otherwise, no vote for him.

  260. Levy’s legacy is the NCC. Now Satan is saying he has the vision of Levy. Now can he tell us why he is harassing his MPs if he has Levy’s Vision.

We will shock satan by producing the manuscript of his meeting at state house. Dont play with the state machinery.

  261. This wastage of time calling for a political pact between ideologues of dissimilar values is a sign of immaturity, disconnection and fanatical idealism not synonymous with realism. These are incongruent tickets by all dimensions opportunistically rival in dreams. This is why I call this kind of cadrish calls, remote, disconnected, dangerously dangerous and self demeaning. Mature analysts and strategists know where building critical mass is not practical. Hence avoid this self humiliation and mental torture. Any vote other than on MMD is spoiled vote because this Zambia’s continuity election with LPM legacy. Nothing more, and nothing less, but just that.

  262. Democracy is institutional. It starts at intra-party not learnt at national level only. MMD has transparently being leading the way hence being a national party. If a party is not open to internal democracy, it holds no moral authority to reign in power over a democratic society and country. Zambians have tested and matured in Democracy. They want leaders and parties open to intra-party democracy. They are privy to engendering their treasured democracy to scambags allergic to competitive intra-party democracy. Sata and Hichilema must open up to democracy, get entrenched in it and become mandated products of the process not leadership by tribal coronations and decree on the subservient.

  263. Bloggers,

I have just done a 15 day tour of duty across the length and breadth of the country, and was amazed by the storm brewing below the surface…RB has done his homework and has laid a solid foundation of grass roots support.

I now understand why the 2 opposition parties are rushing for a pact…

  264. PF denies reports
The Patriotic Front-PF- has dismissed reports suggesting that it has entered into an electoral pact with the United Party for National Development, UPND.

PF leader, Michael Sata, says there has been no pact for the two parties to adopt a single candidate in the October 30 Presidential election.

Mr. Sata told a campaign meeting in Kafue, Thursday, that reports indicating that the two parties have agreed to field UPND president Hakainde Hichilema in the election, are false.

The PF leader said Mr. Hichilema will contest the election on his party’s ticket.

Political parties taking part in the forthcoming presidential-by election have started their campaigns in earnest.

  265. In as much as am a Sata lover, i don’t think
merging with HH is worth it……its like Mugabe and Morgan….oil and water…….Bush and Osama….

  266. I have been surfing online greater than 3 hours today, yet I by no means found any fascinating article like yours. It is beautiful worth sufficient for me. In my view, if all site owners and bloggers made excellent content material as you probably did, the net might be much more helpful than ever before.
