NCC suspends sitting indefinitely

Share

The National Constitutional Conference -NCC- has suspended its sitting indefinitely.
NCC Chairman Chifumu Banda says the conference will only reconvene after next months Presidential Election to allow delegates to participate in campaigns.
He told ZNBC news in Lusaka, Tuesday, that after a lot of consultation, the NCC decided to suspend sittings until after the Presidential by-election.
Mr. Banda however, could not say when the NCC sittings will start but stated that the conference will wait for the dates of the next parliamentary sittings before making a new calender. He said this is because NCC does not meet while parliament is in session.
The NCC plenary was supposed to meet this month to consider recommendations made by the three committees which met in July.

  1. Sad reading. Anyhow vote UPND’s HH for continued look at the constitution throught the NCC so that we will have constitution that will stand the test of time as our late President LP Mwanawasa and the many Zambians wished and still wich.

  2. AFTER THIS LET, THOSE WHO HAD NOT SAT ON THE NCC COME ON BOARD AND

GET REASONS AS TO WHY TO THEY COULD NOT SEAT ON NCC EALIER ON.

  3. LT you cannot spell. Indefinitely (as it is supposed to be) is spelt wrong in your headline. I you people in Lusaka cannot spell, what hope to people in Kasama and Mongu have?

  4. I think we need someone like Deepak patel
This country is beng racist, why dont we have someone supporting Deepak, we have seen Obama of colour in US, I think we are ready for someone like Deepak, he will make zambi a third world country, We need to drum up support because he wants to form his party

  5. #6 Patelo, The only difference between me and deepak is the straight hair. That guy is bemba and i’m sure he is celebrating ukusefya pa ng’wena. Why would people be supporting someone who hasnt declared his intentions? The other sad story is deepak is of Inian origin just like Scott is british making any of them president would be looked upon as colonialism in disguise. You and i may not see it that way but is just the way it is.

  6. What i mean is Is Depak is better by miles he will not be a tribalist and will call it as it is
He will be liked outside the country as well
He will develop zambia , wake you zambians

  7. #10 – Patel, please go to sleep or go and sniff on some henna or something. You just don’t come from the blues and start urging people to drum up support for Dipak. Even if Dipak was the best candidate out there, very few people would even vote for him or his party, if he were to form one, simply because the majority of Zambians would not a mwenye (Indian) as a President. Apart from te first two sentences, # 6 is spot on !

  8. I dont agree what you guys are saying, knowing Zambia, its among the few countries where there is no racism. They would vote for Dipak looking at how much work he had done in his costituency which he always won when he was in a party and even as an independent.some time back others were saying he wasnt Zambian but he told them off he is Zambian just like everyone else in Zambia. He can win if only he started earlier to mention his intentions. But he doesnt want to stand for presido he retired. That is an important point Patel you raised he wouldnt be tribalist. He has qualities but lets not dream people for presidency lets talk about whats there now, reality.

  9. # 5 if you can not write good grammer what about a person in Chadiza?I quote you ” I you people in Lusaka cannot spell, what hope to people in Kasama and Mongu have?” end of quote.

  10. Arafat as stoopid as he is. Why should we support someone who gat no intentions? Deepak will only take Zambia to becoming the first 4th world country. Grow up Deepak is of indian origin. He doesnt even have supporters

  11. They (GOVT)should truly and honestly revise their allowances…they are too much. I really feel sorry for the ordinary hardworking Zambians. But most of these little tu ntembas like NCC) are meant to appease people so that the president has a grip on all matters and you know the power of money…the son of God died for a few pieces of silver who are we to the people that get favours from the president.
