Righteousness exalts a nation

Share

Today’s Scripture

“Righteousness exalts a nation…” (Proverbs 14:34).

Today’s Word from Joel and Victoria

Many people are looking for ways to climb higher in life and the answer is found in the Word of God! The Bible tells us thatrighteousness exalts a nation. Righteousness simply means to be in right standing with God. It means you are honoring Him and following His ways.

Webster’s dictionary says that the word “exalt” means “to raise in rank, power or character.” Righteousness exalts a nation, and righteousness exalts individuals.

There are so many promises in the Word of God for those who are righteous and honor Him. Part of being righteous and following His commands is to pray for your leaders and people in authority. Pray that they would honor the Lord and seek His ways.

Pray that they would govern in righteousness and integrity. And Psalm 33 tells us that, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” The Lord promises that when His people pray, He will hear us! As you submit all your ways to Him,He will cause you to rise up higher and higher into the place of blessing He has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today

Prayer for Today: Father in heaven, thank You for making me righteous through the blood of Jesus. Remind me to pray for my leaders and those who are in authority over me so that Your righteousness will exalt this nation. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

  1. ” The Lord promises that when His people pray, He will hear us!”

Surely the heavenly father YHWH said those that disobey or not even follow the law theeir prayers will not be listened to and their prayers will be an abomination. It’s funny how Zambians prayed for days for mwanawasa and yet their prayers weren’t answered hmmm I wonder . Being righteous with YHWH is just not an act of declaring yourself righteous verbally but in actions you are a million miles away. Being righteous is an act of obedience of following YHWH and his son’s teachings. But in today’s feign religious world the same people preaching righteousness and claiming it don’t even follow scripture.

  2. #3 Spoken like a prophet. We have a lot of people that preach the Word in Zambia but do not leave it. As a Christian I have seen a lot more Christians act like they are the only ones that have infact own God, we must change this. Remember when the righteous rule, the people rejoice.

  3. The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom. Zambia desparately needs this, remember a time when someone convinced many a Zambian that the west was to blame for everything wrong; then to wake up one day and find out that your own was far more sinister. Evil is inherent in man, but the Lord can easily cleanse us always. Repent and you shall be saved. After that start thinking, working hard not follow nayone blindly, even fellow christians; at times Zambian christians worry my brain, blindly do the follow when God gave us vast supplies of Knowledge. Okay I said it and you know it is true; awake and smell the roses, actually roses do not smell nice.

  4. #2 Right on! How I wish all Zambians would pray more than ever. None of these aspiring for plot 1 have told us anything from Jehova, yet it is God who appoints leaders.

Should we pray so much and yet be lead to deeper poverty, corruption and good jobs for only family members?

who among these has the experience and qualities of a leader? Carefully look at their profiles. Who has a heart and head to lead Zambia?

Oh Jehova you know who amongst these has ours and Your interests at heart, one you’ve prepared, not inexperienced, not turncoats, not none existent family values to lean on; Lord help our Mother Land!

Righteousness by Faith is what we need at this jucnture. The good Lord God will surely deliver us as long as we give our all to him and allow him to use us mightly.
Have a blessed day you all.

  6. No 10 do you not have any reverence for God. You do your candidate a disservice when you inject cheap politics to an issue like this one. Look at the other people’s contributions.

  7. Love and peace to all Zambians
Truth or reality is avoided when it is painful. We can revise the Zambian map if only we have the discipline to overcome the pain. To have such discipline, we must be totally dedicated to the truth. The tribal divide is the truth that we must overcome by conducting continuous stringent never ending self examination on the subject of tribe.
After all, every one of us knows the world only through the relationship we have with it. Let’s change ourselves before we can ask others to change for us.

  8. As it is painful to change the way we perceive the truth, the painful effort required to change is usually frightening, almost overwhelming. This often sends us into denial and ignorance of the new information. Often we denounce the new information as false, dangerous, and heretical or the work of the devil. Sometimes even crusade against it so as to manipulate the world to make it conform to our view of reality.

  9. If we seriously consider God in all our problems as country we surely will not worry. “Seek first his kingdom and all these things shall be added unto u”. Our faith in God is what can give us inner peace for the future. “Faith comes by hearing the word of God” and not the promises of man/politicians.

  10. We certainly do not behave like a christian nation. Insulting each other, wishing others to suffer and lose their jobs. The worst is the lack of respect for each other and the bad examples shown to our next generation. May the Almighty forgive the every day sinners who religiously pray on Sunday to have their sins forgiven.

  11. May God rig the elections so that the candidate he has endorsed for Zambia takes the day. “Make your motions and cast your votes, but GOD has the final say.”(Pro 16:33 MSG)

  12. God does not vote. God does not go with the majority. Narrow is the way that leads to righteousness. If the way was wide, then the way of God could have been that of democracy. Do not use God’s name in vain, just to answer your democratic, demonic inclinations of self interest and ill percieved righteouseness.

Above all, God is not Zambian.

  13. #3 Yesha Yahu,

There are people who genuinely and faithfully prayed for the restoration of health of the late LPM. As it turned out, God chose that he should rest. This does not mean, that the prayers of the faithful were not answered. God will not always answer prayers in the way that we would want them answered. The important element which we usually miss as christians is that of failing to submit to the will of God. We should always mean it when we say “Thy will be done”. Always remember that God’s options are infinite, while those of man are finite, very limited indeed.

  14. May Jehovah Tsidkenu rest his righteous right on our nation and guide the electorate in choosing the right person to lead our nation at such a critical stage.
Emmanuel come down and manifest your power.Saturate Zambia with your devine presence. That`s our prayer from the bottom of our hearts in Jesus` name…AMEN

  15. May Jehovah Tsidkenu rest his righteous right hand on our nation and guide the electorate in choosing the right person to lead our nation at such a critical stage.
Emmanuel come down and manifest your power.Saturate Zambia with your devine presence. That`s our prayer from the bottom of our hearts in Jesus` name…AMEN

  16. We need to deal with the realities of life in zambia, alot of people want to be holier than thou and keep praying for they right leader to be choosen, instead they should go out here and choose the right one themselves. Religion should be personal, how long are the people of zambia gonna sit back and keep praying for change while our so called leaders are busy stealing from us. why dont we take initiative and do something, practicality is what we lack. Keep praying people while we keep getting robbed as a nation. A bit of sceptisim does not kill.

  17. #21 Philosopher,
I agree with you on the issue of practicality. As human beings we have a role to play and God has his own. God will not do for us that which we can do for ourselves. E.g, If you are a student, then study because God will not study for you no matter how many times or how long you pray. Alot of people in our country still think the politicians will come to solve all their problems while they sit idle (but busy complaining)doing nothing about their stuation, not even bothering to choose a credible leader who would play the all important role of facilitating for improved lives of their masters, the people. Righteousness not only does it exalt a nation but it also protects.

  18. #18 confront scripture because it’s the one that says prayers will not be answered for lawless blasphemous. If your prayers are not answered do not make excuses look at scripture to the reason why YHWH has not answered and scripyure holds no punches. From my point of view YHWH has not answered zambian prayers because the same people claiming to be righteous are the most lawless ones. It’s very simple just look at the warning in Isaiah 1:14 or amos chapter 5 and look at what zambians did on valentines, easter and Christmas and ask them where in the bible were they asked to praise YHWH like that. It’s pretty simple but Zambians don’t want to accept the hard truth

  19. Let scripture speak for itself
    isaiah 1-14-15
14 Your New Moon festivals and your appointed feasts
    my soul hates.
    They have become a burden to me;
I am weary of bearing them.

15 When you spread out your hands in prayer,
    I will hide my eyes from you;
even if you offer many prayers,
    I will not listen.

    Provers 28:9
He who turns away his ear from listening to the law, Even his prayer is an abomination.

YHWH speaks and yet you do not listen

  20. #23,

I agree with you to a certain degree. Prayers from the wicked are an abomination to God. My arguement is for those that were genuine, faithful and sincere in their prayers, to such God answered their prayers, in a way that appears negative from a human point of view. That is why i emphasised that when we pray, we must submit to the will of God, because doing otherwise, it would seem as though God does not answere our prayers especially if he responds in a way that we did not expect. His (God) options are infinite.

  21. I am amazed Blogger no. 10 still goes on with his pasting of insults. We need sanity of LT…it’s hard to believe we can have people like this one who ae only there to ridicule and insult. God forbid.

  22. NO 21 and 22. Its okay to pray for God to raise the right leader for this country. Our business is God’s business, our affairs are Gods affairs. In everything that we do as a Christian nation we need to involve God through prayer. That does not mean we are not going to vote or work hard or better still open our eyes to choose the right leader.
Kulibe kusiya ma pempelo iyai. Pray at all times.

  23. #23 you are a prime example of holier than thou, quick to judge others just to satisfying your own belief. If God does not answer your prayers does that mean you are not praying hard enough or commiting yourself to him?I’m sure he loves us all equally and he’ll help but you have to do it.

  24. #30 so if I point out what scripture says then I am judging? Maybe you should acquaint yourself with a dictonary and find out the definition of judging. You epitomise the false christian rhetoric to whenever you are cornered and scriptures condemn your actions instead of repenting you go on a tirade of saying you are being judged. If you don’t like what scripture says might as well condemn YHWH. The bible gives reasons to why prayers will not be answered and yet your prayers aren’t answered you make excuses and continue in your lawlessness.

  25. # 16 God is not a Trickster please Sovereign Yes. I say AMEN to the parayers. God keeps covenant and we are covenant people, glory to His name, I feel safe

  26. So you are using the scripture to say that those claiming to be rightous are actually not?because that’s what you actually said in your comment:”From my point of view YHWH has not answered zambian prayers because the same people claiming to be righteous are the most lawless ones.” and I guess you’d know who are rightous and who are not because you know the scripture yet you don not know these people you claim to be lawless.

  27. it’s pretty simple the scripture says:

Lawless + false holidays ignoring YHWH@s feasts= Prayers not answered

Now if am not mistaken zambians drink themselves senseless on christmas, easter and also the nation has eggs on some unbiblical holiday called easter. Also zambian christians say the law is for jews and doesn’t apply to them . Scripture talks about what will happen to lawless people so next time your prayers aren’t answered don’t make excuses scriptures has already told you why they won’t. And I don’t claim to know lawless people ZAMBIANS ARE LAWLESS, for example yesterday 30th september was The feast of trumpets a festival of YHWH from Leviticus 23:24 how many of you even .

  28. kept that feast. You as a nation have rejected the feasts from heaven and the law from YHWH so how can you even claim righteousness when you don’t even respect YHWH . Instead you respect unscriptural church tradition that only pleases your fellow men.,

  29. Zambians are lawless?are you talking about the law of man or God?May be you should say Zambians are not rightous, actually the whole world is not rightous i’d think.I remember jesus turning water into wine and wine is an alcohol, a lot of people intepret it into their own ways.Sorry who’s claiming to be rightous? The country has adopted christianity as the main religion and it is a personal choice that people have to follow whichever denomination they like.No one is claiming to be rightous, and there’s difference between rightous and lawless so may you should go to a book shop buy a webster dictionary and find out the difference.I’m sure you are rightous and better than the rest of zambia!

  30. Do you even know what lawless means as in the bible? Get yourself an interliner or concrodance dictionary and find out that lawlessness means living without the law given to moses by the creator himself. And yes you zambians are lawless you claim to follow christ and yet christ lived by the law and hated lawlessness, christ even promised to reject lawless ones(matt 5:18).

  31. And no thank you at your proposition of me being righteos and better than zambians I am just a mere brother who teaches the word of YHWH and his law. Am sure you think I need a websters dictionary but surely I can differentiate between righteoussness in the eyes of men which is popular amongst zambians or righteoness to YHWH because

    Hebrews 1:9
You loved righteouness and hated lawlessness. That is why YHWH annointed you rather than your companions

  32. Read Matthew 5:18 and john 3;4 , you are mistaking fulfilling with doing away. If the son of man said himself that the law shall pass when heaven and earth have passed last I looked outside my window earth is still there. the son of man set an example for us to follow and yet the same hypocrites claiming to follow him are doing the opposite.

  33. Folks, can you stop preaching on this platform……there’re special places for such purposes called churches……….some of us are buddhists and we’re kind of feeling out of place…lol))

  34. The righteous are a blessing to any nation . The LORD bless you all.

THE APOSTLE JAMES SAYS : “…..16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

    19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;

20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins………” ( James 5 verses 16 to 20 ).
