We’re not forced to support Rupiah – Southern Chiefs

Share

Five Chiefs in Namwala and Itezhi-Tezhi Districts have refuted rumours from undisclosed circles that traditional rulers in Southern Province were under pressure to support MMD aspiring candidate, Rupiah Banda, for the October 30, Presidential by elections.

Speaking on behalf of other traditional rulers, Chief Kaingu of the Ila people of Itezhi Tezhi district said the decision to support Mr. Banda was a voluntary one.

He was speaking in Namwala yesterday when acting President, Mr. Banda, met the Chiefs at Ila lodge.

Among the traditional rulers present were Chief Chiliabufu and Shimbizhi, Chief Muchila and Mukobela’s representative of Namwala.

Chief Kaingu said the decision was arrived at in Choma’s Kozo lodge last month after chief evaulated developmental projects that the MMD has so far recorded.

He observed that if a new government was ushered in, continuity of developmental programs would be disrupted.

He reaffirmed the Acting President that Chiefs in the region would give him support on October 30.

Meanwhile, the Acting President assured people in Namwala and Itezhi-Tezhi districts that government would address the hunger situation caused by floods and also tackle the issue of the prevalence of cattle diseases in the two districts.

Mr. Banda also lamented over the poor cattle marketing in the two districts which he noted disadvantaged most cattle farmers, adding that government would look into the issue.

  1. what development mwe bantu? History may Judge late president Levy Mwanawasa as the most backward
of the three men that have so far ruled Zambia, two Catholic priests
    have observed.
Father Miha Drevensek of Mission press in Ndola and father Umberto
Davoli of Franciscan Retreat house in Kitwe also say acting President
Rupiah Banda has unfortunately jumped into the bandwagon of
opportunism. The priests argue that the present claim of economic prosperity
attributed to Mwanawasa could be more justly judged as the
world’s thirst for the minerals in Zambia.
They claim that Mr.Chiluba’s government was selling copper at
approximately US$2,000 while president Mwanawasa was sellin us 8000

  2. The priests question whether the present investment policies in Zambia
are done in good faith for th entire nation or for personal gain.
“Many of us think that Zambia is losing more than it is gaining,”
reads the priests write-up on the refletions.
The priests however say Mr. Mwanawasa should be remembered for as
outspoken person on corruption issues and someone who tried to his
best to influence SADC countries embrace democratic principles.
They priests say that even as the country remembers Mwanawasa for
his good actions, the nation should learn from his many mistakes such
as his ‘opening the Zambian borders to the flooding Chinese
    immigration’.

  3. The problem with chiefs is that they support blindly.Let them keep away from commenting on issues they don’t understand

  4. The priest further say that had acting president Rupiah Banda truly
loved Zambia, he would have striven to lead Zambia into a most free
    and fair election.
They say that unfortunately the acting president could not resist the
lust for power and has jumped on the wagon of opportunism, saying the
MMD so far has not shown itself able to conduct either a party or
    national free and fair election.

  5. Shame to Southern Province Chiefs! But as it is well known Tonga chiefs do not have much influence to thie subjects. As individuals they can go for RB. They are just soliciting for donations because their areas are in serious hunger. Shame! Shame!Politics of a smoch would not lead you any where.

  6. In eastern province, some people born out of lies alleged that Mr Rupiah Banda told them chase away the opposition, some frame the chiefs were not even aware of.Some tribalist opposition leader raised up the issue only to find that nothing of that nature was on ground.

  7. kozo lodge is for who? i thought it’s for one of the ministers in MMD goverment. how much did these chiefs paid to the same lodge or was it free for chiefs meeting. who provided your lunch and how much where you given, to me it’s possible for all the chiefs to support one candidate. some chiefs were forced as they don’t like Rupiah and some belong to the opposition. Viva sata, viva PF.

  8. Oh no!! HH may be hammered by his own Chiefs. Thats why Zambian politics is cheap. How can a chief be supporting a candidate, lucky I’m not standing, I would kick them out if they supported my opposition when I win!! cheap cheap cheap

  9. There is no development in Southern Province especially in Chief Mapanza. The Chiefs are all liers. Shame on them. Vote for HH.

  10. # 13, very useless character, dnot you read. if the equally useless RB who has oputlived his usefullness could not deny it himself, why should. kabolala kalale

  12. Our chiefs have lost their dignity by deciding to be partisan instead for them to remain non partisan. We know now that chiefs are just after making themselves rich at the expense of their subjects. The vehicles and brown envelopes they are receiving have Our chiefs have lost their dignity by deciding to be partisan instead for them to remain non partisan. 13. How many chiefs do we have? Lets ensure after 30 oct we start cleaning the mess with a new broom. We see how they will not swallow their vomit, as the likes of mulongoti, teta scamper in all directions.

  14. Iwe Solowezi man….your priest bra bra bra
so what??? You sound like a homo married to these chaps..Ha Ha ha RB azawina. Muzalila ba ngwele

  15. Cant these chiefs just do their job (which we all know is being vilagers) instead of getting themselves into things they have no brains to comprehend.
There should be a law banning chiefs from involving themselves in political matters…….especially if they pledge their support for people like RB. If they had pledged support for HH or SATA, then it would have been an acceptable gesture!

  16. # 15, YOU CAN HUNG. THE PROBLEMM WITH YOU PEOPLE IS THAT YOU DONT WANT THE TRUTH. PLAIN AND SIMPLE RB HAS OUTLIVED HIS USEFULLNESS, HE EXPIRED IN THE 1980S AND ATTEMPTED TO BRIBE THE MMD FOLLOWERS IN 1991 COZ HE HAD LONG EXPIRED.

    # 13 WE NEED CHANGE, WE NEED LESS PEOPLE LIKE RB, YOU AND # 15.

    WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE # 5, # 7 AND # 9

  17. My mbuyas, ni swabile ahulu. I was hoping you would rally behind your Tonga bull but alas, its MMD instead

  18. Munkombwe. Sikota and RB you are just useless old me and Sikota is looking for a job. Sorry Sikota because whoever you support never wins. Just continue with your Law Firm than following failures around the Country. Shame on you Sikota, Munkombwe and Sugar Daddy Rupia.

  19. Litle did i knw th supar wud do ths evn to big pipo..wat do thy c in rb and mmd rili..mr sikota is an insult to lawyerz,so wat is he goin to be in 2011 elections,an endorser again..

  20. We know as Zambian, the poverty chiefs have been living in and the lies of politicians. You were not under pressure but poverty made you going to see RB a chief worthy a chief not and a people like RB. you are not chiefs. Chiefs like litunga, chitimukulu, Kazembe, Ishindi will never be surmon by umupabi never. You chiefs from southern you are a disgrace. You are born a chief not RB you should go and line up for anyone apart from yourselves.

  21. IF you zambian want your dignity back;
    If you Zambians want to take back that which belongs to you from mwisas;
    If you Zambians dont want to be insulted by your infester employers;
If you Zambians dont want your women not to be abused like b#%ches by ba mwisas:
If you Zambians dont wanna suffer at the hands of mwisas in your own country:
Vote MC Sata. Sata will wipe out docility out of your stupid heads.
    Vote Sata Vote PABWATOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

  22. I strongly feel Chiefs should not involve themselves in politics, simply because its very possible for them to cause divisions among their subjects.

These guys deserve respect from us,therefore they should not come in the limelight coz then we shall shoot. Please Chiefs stay away it isnt good for you to be called names like liers, corrupt and so on.

  23. The results on the ground are HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

The chiefs cannot openly tell RB, that we will not vote for you.

    Tonga chiefs are none confrontational

Viva HH THE CHANGE WE NEED

  24. As far as I know, Chiefs and old retired states men like KK are supposed to be mediators for the opposing sides instead of being partisan. Shame on you chiefs and all your bootlicking villagers who will support your ill-meaning endorsements.

The way forward is UBWATO Rules.

  25. once respected chiefs those brown everopes won’t be there after 30 oct 08 stoping making announcements instead remind political parties about developmental programes in your areas!don;t say u were not told ,wina azalila .pabwa………………………tooooooooo

  26. only hh….HH SUITABLE FOR PRESIDENCE…VOTE HH LONG LIVE..HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH…

  27. Iwe Solwezi man or whatever your calling yourself, what are u talking about when u say History may Judge late president Levy Mwanawasa as the most backward of the three men that have so far ruled Zambia? Have some respect for the dead.

By the way am from Solwezi, i’d advise u stop calling yourself that name “Solwezi Man” cos it doesnt suit u.

    Wake Up. VIVA RB!!!

  28. The biggest fool is Banda,he has allowed cheap politics to return to Zambia. We are fed up of archaic politics started by Kaunda, followed by Banda & Sata(both senior people in Kaunda’s govt.
Let’s close the chapter about continuation of ”Levy’s legacy”,he did what he could,he too was imperfect & no one will be perfect but i urge those registered to vote & presently in Zambia to do us a favour & vote for someone who will add more value to what Levy left & bring more changes for Zambia to have Sustainable economic development.Because Banda has allowed himself to be surrounded by bigger fools,it’s time for MMD to go,personally i think HH is a better candidate since Sata is an illiterate.

  29. probably they are out of their minds…….can u pliz wake up you chiefs of s/province. don’t b deceived notuma 500pin… go 4 HH.

  30. RB’s bribery dates back to early 90’s. He is still bribing and corrupting. He will continue to corrupt and bribe when he ie elected president. He will not champion the fight against corruption. RB has not spared anyone – not even chiefs – in his corrupt campaign. RB will ruin this country. Vote wisely.

  31. Ba sata bani dabwista lelo. Ati chinese are O.K. Of course he is telling lies. Given a chance SATA would chase all chinese. That is the core of his campaign and the kaponyas like that.

  32. WE ARE BEHIND HH…WE ARE VOTING HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH FOR PRESIDENCE…

  33. Come to think about it, do we really need chiefs? What value to they add to our lives? Please don’t tell me about preserving out traditions and cultural values cause these were long lost. Apart from hosting these non- value adding traditional ceremonies what do these chiefs do? Deny serious investors land or support Rapist Bandit of the Mob of Molesters and Defilers (MMD) during an erection to defile young girls and extend there filth hands to receive those infamous brown evelopes like the one given to that young doctor who offered himself to go to bed with the rapist. Monarchs in other parts of the world are done away with, why do we still hang on to these chiefdoms?

  34. what have you seen in RB he is useless to this generation, he is saying is a team player, on corruption, a team leader in giving brown envolopes and building on the promise, which promise? because he has said anything he will do for us when elected. we dont need pipo like RB, shameless Munkobwe, who dont even know anything as long as they are eating. shame chiefs we know you are benefically of brown envolopes.

  35. Yes Ka solwezi man that is rubbish though there might be some truth to it they are priests taking sides which is not allowed in the house of the lord.
All the candidates are opportunists in this election so are they saying non of them should stand or maybe give the country to the church.
They support Sata know tell me the charectaristics that this man has that they will support. Let them advise how holy like and not take sides these are not catholic politics of the copperbelt where they want the church to support a particular leader. Give ceaser what is ceasre’s

  36. I am not a kaponya i have worked for the Chinese in a professional capacity and one thing for sure the are crooks out to rip Zambia off…trust me no jokes…Rupiah Banda was one of their beneficiaries he himself got `gifts’i was there!! thats how their corruption goes deep. Sata for President!!!!!

  37. Ni mfumu sha nsala ishi? What do you expect from chiefs from this province? Ma brown envelopes at the expense of their subjects. We have powerful chiefs who are non-partisan and are able to express themselves well in English not utu tuma junior chiefs tuma “yes bwana” Katuya basa.

  38. WE ARE VOTING HH…WE ARE BEHIND HAKAINDE HICHILEMA…LESS GO HH..LESS GO..GO HH..PLOT ONE IS YOURS NOW..GOD BLESS.

  39. “Mr. Banda also lamented over the poor cattle marketing in the two districts which he noted disadvantaged most cattle farmers, adding that government would look into the issue”.
This is rubbish, ba RB is cheating. We need change and VOTE for H H.

  40. LETS US VOTE HH FOR BETTER ECNOMIC AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT…IN OUR COUNTRY…VIVA HH…VOTE HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  41. These guys with our Zambian flag, are operating in one internet cafe in Choma next to Barclays Bank and are speaking tonga.

  42. My frends tongas are wise pipo they cant just be hooked like that. believe me you guys. viva upnd viva HH we are behind you.

  43. Who says having an array of degrees is a must to vie for Plot 1. Prof. Saasa is well renowned economist but has never eyed Plot 1. Don’t be cheated by anyone, whoever is eyeing plot 1 just wants power. To some just having this power is an end in itself, they would have achieved what they wouldn’t have acheived with all their qualifications and wealth, to some its the being to prove that despite having a humble background they can perform better than those with an array of qualifications, because they have performed at a cetain level they believe they can perform even at a higher level, to some its a lifetime acheivement one which they did not even envisage.

  44. My heart bleeds, Corruption at its highest point, RB and his foolish men. How do we fight this trend.

    Vote wisely

    VOTE FOR CHANGE

    VOTE HH

  45. These are progressive chiefs. Support for RB is the correct thing for any progressive chief.
Honestly, who would you want them to support?
    1) SATA, who was the pioneer of Chiluba’s ‘third term’ bid? and holds no intra-party elections or,
    2) HH, who has turned UPND into a tonga party? or,
    3) Miyanda, who is almost alone.
These are visionary chiefs who have the plight of this nation at heart.
Some of you react because you want SATA and his ‘third term’ policies in state house.
and some of you want HH, who may have good economic policies but bad political policies; how do you regionalise a party when you aspire for national leadership. “We want a tonga to lead UPND” and you succumb, ah!

  46. HH wise, HH strong, HH intelligent, HH visionary leader, HH stable, HH composed, HH capable, HH energetic. Thus why bus operators dont employ old drivers becoz they cant meet the target, as compared to young drivers who can manourvers to meet the target good example. viva HH.

  47. #4 SOLWEZI MAN You are right and so are the 2 Catholic Priests. All these activities we are seeing are due to the more than good prices of base metals. Infact investors have not only ivaded Zambia, they gone even to war torn countries such as DRC, the Sudan etc. So it has nothing to do with good policies or peace. Just wait until the prices plument; Zambia will be a hot potato-nobody will want to come here. Ask KK. Chiluba was forced to sell the mines cheaply because of poor copper price-only if he had waited a bit!! Therefore friends we are like leaves being tossed by the wind; today we are a rich nation (KK in 1974) to day we are a poor nation (KK in 1980)

  48. Brown envelopes at work right now. When Sata will go there they will say that they will vote for him. The same applies for HH.

Shame on all you chiefs. No principles No manners.

  49. Im sori much as hh cn articulate tings wel,he came into politics n a wrong slate,he wil neva hav th majority so lng he dosent adres certain isues asociatd wth tht

  50. HH is like Chiluba – sweet talk. When he is talking he thinks everyone out there is dull. He is positioning himself as role model for Zambia. No baba, they are better Zambians out their who have suffered worst than you but have made it in life. HH on National Watch – ZNBC on Sunday said the lowest salary under his leadership will be K3.5m can someone please tell me if this is possible, coupled with free education and medical, reduced taxes and an increased civil service (remember more teacher).

  51. These chiefs were given brown envelopes for sure, if there now scared about the colour of envelope, let them change to white. TD Jakes is coming and hope RB will be delivered from corruption and marrying our potential wives. Epompelele

  52. #77 i like that. You have actually impressed me.So lets bury the hatchet by doing each other a favour.Where i am, will campaign for your HH and where you are campaign RB for me.Is that a bargain?

  53. Chiefs are supposed to be neutral when it comes to issues of politics. They represent people from different political backgrounds. The should do us a favor by keeping shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii.

  54. #62. Uncle Phil,
Chiefs are very important in our lives.
It is surprising that you do not know the value of chiefs in your life. That is very sad.
I will just help you with one simple thing as your starting point. Chiefs govern villagers who grow most of the maize from which the shima you and I eat comes from. To some people what I have said is too complex to understand, but that is not my problem. that is suppose to be a PF problem, which comes from the epidermic called ‘bwato’. It is a very serious ‘mysterious disease’. It can literally crumble your thinking when you get exposed to it.

  55. #81 Baba, Young drivers are the major causers of the road accidents, so please don’t even go that direction. Yes these drivers are young and intelligent but they have caused more fatal accidents than the old drivers. Now am more scared, I don’t know what will happen to this country once we vote HH into office – fatal mistakes/decisions.

  56. Who cares 5 votes only,us the poor 85% of zambians say pali chi pontoon ICHIBWATOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSATA.

  57. Eh, #62. Uncle Phil,
Chiefs are very important in our lives.
It is surprising that you do not know the value of chiefs in your life. That is very sad.
I will just help you with one simple thing as your starting point. Chiefs govern villagers who grow most of the maize from which the shima you and I eat comes from. 58. 80 you are lost in your own country. You cant see that HH has now a mamoth suport in eastern, n/western, western, central,50% lsk, 50% c/belt,and only northern not known yet. what turning party for tongas are you saying. wakeup man. this is zambia.

  59. Uncle Phil #76, we understand that having a chain of degrees doesnt mean you have to vie for plot 1. Mind you other people regardless of levels of education attained will just be academicians who will tell you all theories which they cant put to practice. I beg you dont bring the name of Prof Saasa into these issues. I dont know whether he is a practicing economist or an academician. VIVA HH proven economic Manager

  60. Viva Southern chiefs. RB for plot 1. The chiefs know why they cannot support the opposition because the opposition parties are just promising what the MMD is doing. Why change if it is not for the better. No new ideas from the opposition.

  61. PLEASE CHIEFS YOU HAVE KINGDOMS TO LOOK AFTER YOU ARE ABOVE POLITICS WHY BOTHERED BY POLITICIANS. PLEASE LEARN FROM LITUNGA OF THE LOZI PEOPLE HE DOES NOT COMMENT ON POLITICS.HH WE LOVE YOU COME AND RESTORE THE RESPECT OUR CHIEFS DESEVES.I THINK NOW THEY ARE NOT LOOKED AFTER PROPERLY.VIVA HH

  62. At the end of the day people can vote for who they like. That’s the problem with bribery (and most leaders do this including the Pirate and the boat men). Best thing is chew people’s money and vote for who you like. Corruption doen’t get anyone anywhere. We are all singing Late LPM’s praises but weren’t people at one point saying MMD rigged the elections and Mr.Mazoka should’ve won. Funny how we all change our tune! There is a sense hypocrisy in all of us.

  63. www dot hakainde dot com HAMMERED.

UPND, what’s up with my website?

HELP! I’m being hammered even before 30/10!!!

I might as well jump into the boat!

    PABWATOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

  64. Wanyanya look very silly indeed,he fails to acknowledge intelegency. Whether you like it or not, HH will getfar more votes than your old Sata in the following province: Eastern, Northwestern, Western, Central and share Lusaka provinces.

Your old sinking speed boat cant carry even 500 votes, then, how do you win an election of this magnitude? VIVA HH and fool RB. Vote for real change vote HH

  65. 85 NO SWEET TALK HE IS SERIOUS MAN HE KNOWS WHERE MONEY IS.JUST TRY HIM YOU WILL REJOICE.THE CHANGE WE CAN NOT DOUBT.VIVA HH

  66. COPPERBELT PIPO PLEASE WHATS WRONG WITH YOU?? YOU KEEP ON SUPPORTING SATA AND THE CHAP KEEPS ON LOOSING YET YOU DONT STOP MUNA TEMA NDEMBO?? SATA IS ONLY CAMPAIGNING ON RADIO IN LSK BECAUSE HE KNOWS HE CANT WIN NATIONALWIDE SUPPORT, ALL HE WANTS IS TO KEEP ON BEING OFFICIAL OPPOSITION LEADER TO BE ATTENDING STATE FUNCTIONS AND SYPHONING DONOR FUNDS “KEN NGONDO STYLE” EVEN MIYANDA IS NOW DOING THE SAME. ITS CHAMA CHAKOMBOKA WHO STARTED THIS GAME M.H.S.R.P. THERE IS CLEARLY NO CHANCE FOR THE OPPOSITION. MMD IS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY AND RB WILL WIN BY A LANDSLIDE THIS TIME.

  67. So far only Uncle Phil sounds exceptionally in this debate from you guys with our Zambian flag.Menia mudala!!!!!

  68. iam from the eastern but after hearing HH surely i will vote for him. lets vote for people who are willing to empower us not giving us brown envlops for how long will they dish out the sugar/mealiemeal becoz its now finished.

  69. Hachigubu Hachihaha in trouble in his own homeland. Now he is accusing Chief Bright Nalubamba of influencing other chiefs. Yabija makhani badala, this is politics, wina azalila!!!!

  70. CHIEFS ARE HUMAN BEINGS AND THEY ARE ENTITLED TO THERE OPINION, ITS UPTO YOU TO FOLLOW THERE OPINIONS OR NOT.SO DONT INSULT THEM JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT IN FAVOUR OF SATA OR HH. INFACT THERE REASON FOR ENDOPRSING RB IS SIMPLE, CAN ANYONE TELL HOW HH OR SATA CAN GORVERN WITH LESS THAN A QUATER OF MPS IN THE HOUSE??? THESE TWO CAN ONLY HAVE ONE OPTION IF ELECTED, DISSOLVE PARLIAMENT AND CALL FOR A GENERALL ELECTION WITHIN A MONTH.TO ME AND THE CHIEFS THATS RUBBISH AND WE WONT ACCEPT CHILD PLAY IN NATIONAL MATTERS. PF SUPPORTERS GET SOBBER AND HEAR THE WISE MEN APPOINTED BY GOD TO LEAD “CHIEFS”

  71. I am surprised at your lack of respect for Chiefs. being able to read english does not make you clever, you are just an educated fool. Chiefs are part of Zambian life and they have every right to support the candidate of their choice without being suspected of being paid. How is it that same southern province chiefs did not support Levy in 2001 and 2006? lets be objective in our analysis. they have seen that RB is a more mature leader than the young arrogant HH

  72. Ok! so what else is new? we know for a fact that since chiefs are on boma payroll the can deny all they want, but inside our hearts we know musapota Banda. just try not to force your subjects to vote for the three musketeers. viva Zambian democracy, abash manyozo politics.

  73. Imwe please spare my cousins, just collect the money and vote otherwise, mwe batonga, look at your cousins in North Western, they allowed their cousin to be welcomed by subjects.

This election will be nice, I wish it was an erection .

  74. MMD govt has continued funding development projects in that region even though they lost the province in last two elections. Munkombwe also has been working very hard to change the attitude of the tonga’s towards MMD. NOTE during Chiluba’s time southern province voted 100% for MMD!!

  75. Tilekeni tidye nase. Chrisimisi yabwela musanga chaka chino. Injoyee wabwela nditu.

Tilekeni ti injoyee nase. Osa kamba kamba. Khola yanga ili fulufulu.
    Niyembekeza SATA manje.

  76. I wonder if these chiefs are educated at all, Coz what I see is just nothing in thir little heads. I want to challange them to do what they are supposed to do and not what other people are supposed to do. You chiefs get your shoes and go to school , at least grade nine can teach you more about politics and not what you think. I thought chiefs are people with wisdom and yet it is the other way round. Change for the better mwandini mwatisebanya. HH you are the man and your time is now, We will vote for you coz you are the right man for Zambia. These chiefs Know nothing apart from eating chicken and other traditional things, We need an educated Zambia with lots of degrees. Chao pep-c.

  77. # 14, Kozo Lodge belongs to Michael Kaingu who got money through the Tourism Development Credit Facility. From his last meeting with Tour Operators in Livingstone, one could tell he had blundered putting up that lodge in Choma and L,stone. He commanded tour operators to send tourists to his lodge, for heavens sake what attraction is in Choma? Ba Munkombwe is from the old school and was only saved by LPM becoz he had become a destitute after mismanaging his farms in Choma so you know why he’s yapping like that. As for Sakwiba, you can judge for yourself as he’s a non starter in my opinion. HH you are an inspiration to the young generation. You have my vote.

  78. FELLOS, IT IS NOW CLEAR LPM DIED WITH HIS LEGACY. WHAT RB IS GOING TO CONTINUE IS KK’S LEGACY WHICH HE LEFT IN 1991 AND CHILUBA’S LEGACY OF BROWN ENVEROPES. LETS TRY HH HIS LEGACY IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR IS EQUALLY GOOD.

  79. #104 Mumbwa Mumbwa,i dont know who is failing to acknowledge the ability to learn between you and me.Who is supporting Sata here? You are in tight coner son, knowing that you HH(House of Horror) votes are far fetched.Tell him that the greatest mistake made was getting to that helm by tribalism and that will eat him again and again. What game plan has HH got.Dont forget to remind him that we all know that motto of “one zambia one nation”.So he thinks that by using it a million times people will forget.

  80. #93,BABA,
    – Yes this is Zambia, that is why when Tongas said, “We want another tonga to succeed Mazoka!” HH should have known that this is Zambia and the such calls were wrong for a national party. But what did HH do?

  81. I’m also concerned with Clement’s queston.coment 101, what really happened with our President’s website. To tell the truth I’m a Computer technician and I can not access the website. I had registered but can’t go through, what is it. Please help we need to know more about our man HH, we love you coz you love us, ” Zambia as a whole”. Pep-c Mwiinga.

  82. MAJORITY OF YOU GUYS ON THE BLOG ARE OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY AND YOU ENTIRELY DEPEND ON EAR SAYS. ASK US, THE WE INDIGENOUS ZAMBIANS WHAT IS HAPPENING ON THE GROUND. HH IS ONLY FAMOUS IN SOUTHERN PROVINCE NOT ON THE COPPERBELT, CENTRAL, LUSAKA, EASTERN, NORTHERN AND LUAPULA PROVINCES. SATA IS DEFINITELY SCOOPING THE SEAT. WE HAVE BURIED MMD AND WE WANT CHANGE THIS TIME. AND IT IS DEFINATELY WORKING, BECAUSE ITS SATA NOT HH WHERE EVER YOU GO. PEOPLE CANNOT VOTE FOR HH BECAUSE OF WHAT HE DID TO THE PEOPLE OF LUANSHYA AND HE HAS NO HEART FOR THE PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA. IF YOU MAKE A MISTAKE OF VOTING HIM IN OFFICE ZAMBIA WILL REMAIN AN EMPTY BOX BY THE END OF HIS TERM OF OFFICE.

  83. Ba Chilufya Sata # 110 of course not the real paddler of the Bwato, the vote is secret and Chief’s cannot influence his people not kumusanza maybe other province’s in Zed. With this poverty rocking most Palace’s they will endorse in his presence and get brown envelopes then come 30th October, uli weka mu polling booth with no cameras like in the BBA House, you vote HH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  84. Zambians are very happy people, they are confortable with the foolish supply of electricity, atleast they can manage to pay for expensive fuel.
    What else do they want?

Its only the MMD, so that they continue with the electricty blue.

  85. I hope LT can allow me to send a telegraph to my nephew in town :

Choyamba, ndifuna ku peleka moni kuli ba gearbox mwale. Lindilani alendo afwika mu chizungu ati hold on, the visitor has come.

  86. people help me i have a an issue with zesco.i live in kamwala south near ZIPAS sch and on monday i got home at about 17hrs there was no power till 22hrs when power was restored and i was asleep.Yesterday 17hrs again it was the same experience and when i phoned the so called faulty center i was informed it was load sheeding.Power was restored around 02 hrs in the morning and at 05hrs power was swtiched off till this time.I took the trouble to call the fautly center and a man i spoke to at 12:40 to be precise told me that its load shedding and was given a complaint number.Just at 15hrs i was again gven another number?is ZESCO worthy to be sold?who knows the cell number for Sisala help me.

  87. But what did HH do?
He simply took that is an advantage to his candidature.
Instead of seeing beyond the election for the sake of the party, he simply took tonga calls as part of his strengths against his opponents.
Instead of seeing what Mazoka had in mind, he simply looked at economic policies.
To be a leader you need more than economic policies; you need political and social policies too.
What is the value of having good economic policies and yet frustrating the electorate who wont vote for you.
Anyway HH is still learning politics. When he manages to graduate well in social and politics he will be a good leader in future.

  88. Guys fast i know some one has the number for Sisala i need to brief him as they are stealing money since we are not on prepaid meters and they have an obligation to give us power 24hrs

  89. Solwezi man dont worry about the preists its a fact LEvi is the one who actually sold KCM for a song. ($25m) yet the same indian chaps paid $2.5billion for a similar mine in the USA. they will pay the last installment in Dec this year . and got KCM with 70m in the bank and copper in transit. so. I will remember Levi as some one who was open and honest. but development……….nay. nothing to write home about.

  90. and who owns the same kozo lodge?isnt he a minister or one of the top puppets in mmd?not forced please, dont insult our intellengence, just eat the money you were given.i didnt c you mention the big cheifs like mapanza, monze which means you are just talking for yourself.you are not fit to be a chief instea you are a thief!

  91. #85 MMD Govt awarded itself heft salary increments, where was the man going to come from.Nyama soya is busy duping is stupid fellas with 15ms,where is the money coming from? There is alot of money more than we need to use – its just that this careless MMD govt has misplaced priorities. The 14.7trillion which was mis applied if it was invested or used properly, this time we would have been reaping postive results.HH knows wat he is talking about.#125 stopped being tribal ,be focused and think again for the sake of your children.HH is the only one that makes sense here, the rest are in the wrong place, they should have been at their farms.

  92. # 135 Muzanipeza, our country has gone to the dogs, oh not dogs because dogs are much better to stay with. I hate Zesco thats the reason I wounder they are people who would even support their useless Zesco United.

We ll start throwing stones at Zesco vehicles.

  93. chiefs from southern province are among the wisest in Africa. Its good they have seen the good work that RB has done in very short time.In a very short time RB has achieved alot,eg national unity ,Price reductions ,he has ended hh s political career ,etc. Many good things are in the pipeline, vote for continuity countrymen.

  94. Truth. HH entered politics on tribal grounds and will never rule this country. I am Bemba and i will never make a mistake voting a Tonga We looked like foreigners in our own country when the late Handy was about to win the past elections.I have grown in Tonga Land and i know what i am talking about.Watch out Bembas or else you will be foreigner in your own country. I stand to be challenged. Tongas hate Bembas get it from me.

  95. if HH was genuine, he would have let Saki lead UPND wen andy died. if he was for development he would have worked under Sata for 3 years then take over wen he is ripe. he would have taken over the leadership, but as ussuall only a tonga can rule the party, hes not any different from RB, they both hijacked leadership. and the expense of credible pipo. for that UPND dented its image. MMD we cant even think of them. leaves us with Sata.

  96. You chaps are just as disrespectiful as your HH and your SATA respect the chiefs. They are wiser than you educated fools. They know what they are doing. Yout HH and Your SATA are not offering anything new in their campaigns. All they want is to get to plot 1. Viva our wise chiefs, viva RB!!!

  97. 73. Please try to speak the truth just for one moment and see if you will not be proud of yourself. Surely, you should be ashamed to lie that people with a Zambia flag are all in an internet cafe. May you are. More education to teach you once HH is on Power.

  98. We in zed know tht as we vote in 30th.we ar nt votin 4 coruption,nt a tribalist..gues u knw were th majority ar puting their votes…

  99. Dear, #145

    Attention: Mr Kanyengo,

By our Village standards, your writen English is superb and excellent. Could we be privilleged by your humble acceptance of an invitation to the chiefs Palace. Your purpose, to speak and lecture to us village illitrates. The TOPIC: the Majestys’ Queens language.

  100. OUR CHIEFS ARE SUCH A DISGRACE. DON’T THEY REALISE THAT BY VIRTURE OF ENDORSING A CANDIDATE THEY ARE INFLUENCING THEIR SUBJECTS?
AM EVEN MORE DISAPPOINTED WITH THE “INDEPENDENT” ECZ FOR THEIR FAILURE TO PUT AN END TO RB’s DESREGARD FOR THE ELECTRAL CODE OF CONDUCT.

  101. 153, from your debate, all can see that your are mentaly impotent. Do less writing for now and read a bit just to become semi-literate to comprehend what the call for HH means to mother Zambia.

  102. there is no escaping this tribal issue.
    HH is the one.
Sata and RB have nothing to offer.
if HH was other than tonga what would you have said?

For sensible leadership HH is the one.

  103. MAY I WARN RB AND HIS SPONSORS THAT WHAN EVER CORRUPT ACTIVITIES THEY HAVE SO FAR ENGAGED IN WILL COME TO HAUNT SOONER THAN LETTER.
THEY MAY WIN THE ELECTIONS BUT UMULADU TAUBOLA!

  104. Chiefs must come clean now. or else they wont receive those Land Cruisers we have seen. So it must be voluntary, to come out now. HH will not be President, ever. So now can ALL chiefs come clean. Land Crusers dont come cheap or for free!!!

  105. we all know that the “RB formula” was applied of these shameless chiefs. let them learn from mwata kazembe who has taken a neutral stance on politics. subjects be free to choose their own candidates.’UMUNTU NI NOAH’ PA BWATOOOOOOOOOO

  106. Am sick and tired of this tibal game, tonga this, bemba that…….We are all Zambians and we only have one country ,Zambia. Drop the crap…….

  107. Chiefs from the Southern Province, what is happening with you. You seem to be more political than traditional leaders. Traditional leaders supposed to be above partisan politics, because your subjects come from different political parties.
What you are doing is simply dividing your subjects, your role in this is advsory one period.

  108. Its quiet a big shame for these chiefs to publicly declear their support to one candidate at this early stage.ANYWAY,IT IS TRUE THAT POVERTY REDUCES INTERGRITY OF THE SIMPLE MINDED.I WOULD RATHER HAVE GOOD MORALS THAN BE GIVEN AN ENVELOP FULL OF SHAME TO MY FAMILY. ANY WAY THANKS TO THE CHIEFS IN KAZUNGULA DISTRICT.

  109. #41, Chi Wanyanya iwe!!! Change is a gradual process and always has a starting point, today with SATA and PF taking the lead. By the way am surprised to learn that you still believe we are playing games. PF will govern Zambia very well till 2021. Simple reason, results will be there to tell not cheap corruption and hoodwinking our illiterates. Chalipwa imwe ba MMD. HH or whoever they will impose on the tribesmen will only have a chance in 2021. This is true and it’s our long term strategy. Viva SATA boil their backs like Munkombwe yaps!! We need to truly show you what is meant by tourism, not in the state Livingstone is and you say we behind RB!! Poofff you unprincipled chiefs

  110. At least you are not being tribalists as you are well known. Give some support to Sata also since he is going to be the next president

  111. 164. HH started it by throwing out Saki! I remember people like Sejani threating violence if a non-Tonga speaking person took over from Andy! HH IS TRIBALIST. PERIOD.

  112. I see nothing wrong in chiefs receiving brown envelops or 4×4. After all it belongs to the nation and this could be the opportunity for the chiefs.BUT chiefs must remember that a vote is secret as such they can vote contrary. BUT if the giver forces them sing RB´s song to the villagers and villagers become corrupted then we should condemn illiteracy.Otherwise politics in Africa explores poverty stricken guys. As for me I do not care as my neigbour Angola is free and can start developing my life on Angolan resources.

  113. Tongas are tribal, i will take the comfort of thinking that its a modern world and pipo are educated and civilised so those issues shud not really bother me in 2008 but some blogs on this site make me wonder easpecially the guys outside zed.anyways after all its a tonga Chief who holds the record of a 1st bangee jump. in da history of Zed. 🙂

  114. Nyama Soya can use all the strategies he know as well as hiring those pipo he has hired for his image….what wreck!!!

    PABWAAAAATOOOOOOO>>>>>

    VIVA SATA!!!!

  115. Please lets not talk about tribal issues here. Bembas and Tongas are not the only people who will be voting. Please reserve those comments for your selves. God help Zambia.

  116. #150,CHIWAMELA GALU KULUMA MBUZI NOT MBUZI KULUMA GALU KA?let the tongas rule who told you bembas that you are our kings for ever?we tired of you thives!banabula fye ha,ha,ha kalimeni tuute kumushi peeleshi!VIVA HH not coz he is tonga but becoz he has brings unlike the others

  117. Mozegator #171!awee boyi that really cracked especially the issue of that memorable JUMP!!!HA!HA!HA! Awe kweena!!!

    PABWAAATOOOOOO>>>>>

  118. Edit,

Possible meaning and intention of #160:

I WARN RB AND HIS SPONSORS THAT ALL ALLEGATIONS LEVELLED AGAINST THEM WILL NOT BE SWEPT UNDER THE CARPET.

I hope that this is in order.

    Thanking you in advance

  119. Ewe #4 solwezi man,

Be smart and reason above your so called fathers. They are the same chaps that steered Genocide in Rwanda having been tripping back and forth in the Great lake’s Rwanda, DRC and Zambia where they have sneaked as another target of funning another Genenocide. They approve nothing umunthu but seed hatred and blood shade.Careful with their erand amongsts us.Let them father you but use your common sense with ability to pick their triggering tone for another Genocide.

  120. 171 and 175 Do you research properly
That wasnt a tonga chief. It was a TOKA-LEYA Chief Munokaluya Siloka Known as Chief Mukuni

  121. All the three candidates, there rise to party presidency is questionable, RB, Sata & HH. The thing is change if we need to be safe.

  122. I think we must enact a law which prohibits Chiefs to participate in politics. It reduces their status! Have you ever heard the Queen of England commenting on who should be PM in England? Why can’t chiefs take a leaf from their fellow royalty?

  123. #178 am not worried about which tribe he is from all I know is that the JUMP is memorable!!!can’t forget the memorable part!!!!Nothing to do with Tonga or Toka-Leya!!!

    Otherwise inee Nipabwaaaaatooooo>>>>>

  124. Tongas are not tribal,hh is not tribal aswell, countrymen, its not possible to be tribal in a modern Zambia,we are all inter related.Raise issues and not this tribal thing as it does not exist. Why talk of hh when he is not a force in these elections.Sata will come second to his honour RB.In third position we shall have Miyanda and and the man hh

  125. #169. If you are sure that HH is Tribal, fine, thats your take. I suspect you are also tribal….U scaring me.

  126. Mr. Solwezi man, just give the rest of the blogers the link at Zambia watchdog to read the article themselves, by the way there is another interesting one, about Levy’s legacy still being on trial and one about the media.

  127. # 150 then who is your man in this election? don’t tell me it’s SATA then you will be behaving no different from the same Tongas you have condemned! because Sata has not substance one can only surpot him on tribal grounds period!

  128. #40 thats not funny u make me laugh: sata is a comedian/ bully at the same time. South chiefs bamugaga HH) HAKAIVOTELA HUMWINE..VIVA RB. Ma oposition bonse nivipuba! Kaponyaz

  129. 181 spectator

Typical of PF cadre mentality I am sure you did not witness the Jump all you know depended on hearsay. You are busy killing your self with laughter without the knowing the facts or the truth.

  130. 164. I am 41 and 30 years i have spent it in Tonga land this tribal issue is very serious fellow Bembas get it from me This Tongas openly hate Bembas You vote a Tonga at your own peril.I pit HH he deserve s my vote but he is Tonga and i am Bemba sorry.

  131. Say what you like….We gonna vote HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  132. A chief ‘Bambi jumping’ is cool. I hope ze will allow me in my traditional gear. Here I come.

I wish, I was the first.

  133. Some of you chaps are funny, how can you continue saying tongas are tribal when sata and his honour RB are busy gaing ground in southern province. The chiefs are also busy endorsing.TONGAS ARE NOT TRIBAL ..

  134. #130 – You are correct. HH did more damage – it is difficult to forgate. He is now sending pipo to find out about his chances and to hear what pipo of Luanshya think about him. To tell you the truth he can not be trusted.

He brought pipo who had no knowledge about the operations and were put in charge. They mismanaged things. He just brougt his tribes pipo to come and just get babies. He is a disgrace.

  135. We are not suprised because brown envelpoes are the order of the day in RB’s govt. Very soon our coffers will run dry. Country men, our country’s economy is on the knife edge of collapsing with the RBs in the driving seat.
    Viva PF, Pabwatoooooooooooooooooo!!!!

  136. #148 what national unity when there sqaubles within MMD.Ending some’s political career is it an achievement?come on iwee silly choma 1 thats killing democracy, why are we called a multy-party state then if our aim is to kill off opponents?Shollow thinking.

  137. PABWATO supporters should quickly open their eyes before they get the BIG suprise of 30 october; HH in Plot 1. Those of us whose work involves travelling around Zambia have seen the wind of change blowing. Come October 1 its HH in state house. Voting for Sata is Voting for RB because you are just wasting HH’s Vote. HH is the NEW BIG FORMIDABLE OPPOSITION OF OUR TIME. I mearnt to say atleast for now since next month UPND will be the ruling Party

  138. These Bemba-Tribalists are still going too far with the tribal label on all Tongas. You chaps insulting us I thought you had grown up. Can you for once behave!
I have joined UBWATO as a Tonga and we Bemba-Tribalists never welcomed me in the boat despite my giving you all my details like name Hamwaambwa Mugungulu Mwaanga and telling you that I come from place under Chief Mapanza with VJ.
PF supporters, do you have mental problems or what? HH is a Zambian as much as any member of the UPND or MMD or PF who are Zambian. I am still in the boat and please do not make me leave it sooner than planned.

  139. These tonga chiefs are very wise old men.
They have seen that HH blundered by adhering to calls from tongas to have UPND led by another tonga.
So they want to show HH that Zambia is not just about tongas, its about all tribes being one Zambia.
KK taught these chiefs “One Zambia, One Nation” when HH was still young.

  140. and these chiefs you are insulting, lies the answer to solve tribalism in Zambia.Education will never do any good to this vice.

  141. Sata first then HH,its just disheartening that the 2 didnt work together considering the 80% of zambians wallowing in poverty will still vote for mmd as history has shown the most votes comes from them.let every enlightened zambai paying tax sit with his village folk and expalin to them what their actions do to the rest of us who have the burden of supportying their livelihood.anyone supportying RB has to be insanely crazy…

  142. #188.Bembas are very smart and for your information i am married to a Tonga. I will for sure put my vote on Sata they started it and they deserve a veto from Bemba land

  143. 169 you got your facts right!! you are upto date ma bratha….. if UPND didnt have the tribal mark on them we would have been together Any was the Man. but the Tonga thing is way too pronounced. for that… we shall not be party to retrogresive ideas. so lets move forward in da boat. lets have Sugar D and HH in the opposition and they will be the watch Dog.

  144. I’ve asked this before, but got no response: What do chiefs actually do in this day and age? I mean, besides going around begging for money. Come to think of it, that’s what they’ve always done all through the ages!

  146. #210. Anonymous, and you believed him? Then you must forgive me for questioning your sanity!! All these evangelical preachers have only on thing on their minds when they come to Zambia and/or any other country in Africa: It’s not longer to save your souls! That narrows the field considerably. Let’s see if you can figure it out. Sorry, that’s too hard for you, I see.

  148. All the progressive Zambians shud move on as we leave those that think the Tonga tribalism talk against the Tongas will take them anywhere. While, they left behind HH is doing it well on the ground and more especiallly in the rural areas while the King cobra supposed to be but instead the cobra has decided to be on the boat fishing like my brother in Luapula Province and those along the Zambizi RIVER. viva HH and VIVA PA JANZA………………………

  149. Nine Chale

Good to hear from you, ‘the proud Bemba’. Your man SATA where is he at this stage, is he still resting or what. Any news about him?

  150. HH will need to shed-off the ‘tribal’ label if he wants to rule this country even in 2011. All my Tonga friends need to know that singing the tribal tune or riding on the tribal tidal wave shall never give HH the presidency. He has good ideas ,although he is inexperienced but his biggest problem is the tribes-mate that surround him and advise him wrongly. He should have worked with MCS for three years- come 2011, his victory was going to be more than secured! As it is, I think he’s better off concentrating on his business.

  155. #220 I cannot disclose the whereabouts of Sata, but that shouldn’t bother you. He will be there when you need him most…on the 30th of this month.

  156. I am shocked by the low level of intelligency on this forum! Are you most chaps serious with your contributions? Do you have children? If you do have then you definitely don’t love them because if you did you were not going even to be mentioning clowns like Sata ad RB.

  160. Anonymous, did you know that unlike the Tongas with their small chiefs, Bembas are highly organized in terms of governmental, social and religious issues? All entities are under the jurisdiction of Cghitimukulu, the Paramount Chief of the Bemba people.

  161. #237

You are my man, dont worry, no hard feelings, we are just the same as Nine chale will testify. The good thing between the two of us is that we dont want to intertain the thought of SATA ever ruling. Kapish

  162. The Bemba indeed have a rich history, just like any other tribe in Zambia and for that fact any tribe in the world.

Dont, try to put them on a high pedestal. That is a mistake you are making and you are highly and unnecessary prejudicial.

  163. #238 Nine chile,

The moment, you start looking down on other tribes, you are saying you are special. O.K you are special, so what.

You say ‘unlike the Tongas’. In very few words, you show how deeply tribalistic you are. Look, you are no different from the whiteman who calls a black person ‘Nigger’.

With your such a prejudice, Iam not SURPRISED about your political affiliations.

  164. Hhehhehhehhe.
Bemba this, Bemba that. Bemba-Tribalists (undereducated and normally exhibiting Kaponya mentality) and not well meaning Bemba Zambians, we are sick and tired of this nonsense!
“Abakali, tabalanda.” Statistics tell for themselves. October 30, 2008 will be the final verdict. Zambia Foward. Vote for “wamano, ni zi”.
“Ichidunu chilalisha, abaiche tababako.” – JK or someone (help).

  165. The truth of the matter is that if a person always talks about others being tribal just know that it’s that very person who is tribal. My tribesmen Bembas have a common saying that a Tonga can never rule them, simply put they can not accept any Tonga to rule them and not that a Tonga is tribal. I have lived with Tongas for many years and have not seen that tribal tag these morons always use as an excuse!

  166. Tribalism is a waste of energy. The best tribe in Zambia is but a collection of ‘primitive’ people in the eyes of others.

We are a collection of primitive tribes in the eyes of others. No segragation there. The moment ‘native’ tribes start fighting each other, the theory of thier primitivity becomes fact.

  167. The simple fact is that tribalism blinds people from real issues. No economic sence out of this tribal inclination staff.

No progressive ideas come out of tribal sentiments.

I am honestly impressed with the people outside and above this ‘tonga/ bemba’ tribal talk.

  168. People! Anyone candidate who uses tribalism or any blogger who suggests one tribe is more superior as comapred to the more than 73 tribes in Zambia is not a genuine son of Zambia. That is why the whites used the divide and rule tactic in the colonial days because they found fertile ground. We should be united beyond tribal lines after all, Tonga, Bemba, Ngoni, Lozi , Kaonde etc- we experience the same suffering. If RB,SATA or HH think I will vote for them on the basis of tribe, they are DEAD WRONG. Only performance-PERIOD.

  169. Always it is the sam group making useles comments about TRIBE – the BEMBA-TRIBALISTS – who not not necessarily the normal Bemba People whom I respect for the way they do things. What is wrong with these chaps?
I rebuke the use of INUSLTS in the Bemba language and in the name of hoodwinking all the nice Bemba peopl in Zambia and elsewhere. You Bemba-Tribalists are a shame to Zambia.
Pabwato. Vote for Sata to deal with these Bemba-tribalists and chuck him out if he fails by 2011.
Vote for Sata and PF for Mediocre leadership.
Vote for Sata to risk your chilren’s future.

  170. The fact that we have different cultures and languages ideally is supposed to add value to our rich heritage. Not division.

  171. #Great point #256. look at the Americans in the USA. Diversity is what makes them do things. With education, the Americans put a Man on the Moon. Now, they have put robots on Mars. One of their Satellites have gone past Jupiter. Diversity has given them what they have achieved for they do things for the benefit of all Americans.
The US Lower House (Representatives) is in about 2/3 majority opposition but the country stills moves ahead in development with minority Republicans. The US Upper House (Senate) must be in the same situation with Democrats being more than Republics by a small margin, but Americans move serious strides ahead. What is wrong with a Bemba-Tribalists Zambian?

  172. Learn to accept people just as they are, there is nothing wrong with that.

Hitler’ main philosophy was the supremacy of the Arian race. He committed a genocide that is beyond any sane understanding.

  173. I will sort out all Muzungus when I take over. Mugabe opened Page 1 , I will go all the way. I will grab the mines from the Indians in Chingola and gave to Nsanda and Co. I will nationalise Oil and Mines and North Western Province.

Viva Vigilantes and Pangas in Chiwama

  174. And yet here is someone, apparently abroad and probably enligntened as well, very familiar with negative racial remarks, saying my tribe is ‘unlike other tribes’.

Well, I hope you wont blame that whiteman that will next time smack at you and calls you a monkey. You are indeed proving to be one.

  175. Everybody knows that SATA is an opposition leader, who doesn’t know that?
Even these PF cadres, they are just kidding; who can vote for SATA this time?
It is this same ‘pabwato’ business which is disturbed many intellectually vulnerable Zambians with its severe side effects on intellectualism.

  176. Is it no wonder that ‘villains are yet ‘heroes’; the utterly cruel are ‘loved and cherished’; wolves are champions in the midst of sheep.

  177. #262, Pumpy, I have been with PF pabwato but I have failed to understand this Bemba-Tribalism. II thought these PF guys would embrace and welcome me as a Tonga supporting Hon. Sata, but to they have continued insulting Tonga brothers and Sisters. I am now thinking of going back to HH and UPND as Maestro Hhehhehhehhe. What is your advise, Pumpy?

  178. #262. You, Pumpy, I have been serious of getting a Bemba akakoko nangu akabata. Time is running out, but I might end up chosing a Tonga beauty shortly if this Bemba-Tribalism continues.

  179. Ba#256 thats real..am just sad that pf and hh failed 2 make a pact,..every kaponya wants plot 1. Its a clear chance 4 rb.. Come oct 30.

  180. #266, I agree with you.
Both SATA and HH have not learnt the simple logic why Chiluba encouraged so many political parties.
SATA was very close to Chiluba, to the bitter end of ‘third term’ bid.
But I dont know how the simple logic Chiluba introduced managed to ellude him.
For HH I can give him benefit of doubt. He was busy running the corpoarate world. His only problem is that he thinks politics are like the corporate world where you hire and fire and choose who to be with. You can fire the electorate, neither do you fire an antagonistic citizen. You simply have to develop political management skills to succeed, which he does not have – not a bit.

  181. Chiefs are really becoming a nuisense and they should shut up in their “palaces” and concentrate on what they do best i.e. withcraft, drinking and ceremonies. That House of Chiefs should be abolished. It is a sheer waste of money.

  182. #266, that is a good point. Our grandparent Hon. Sata would have done the Zambian Community very well if he acknowledged that Zambia needs education to drive it forward by letting someone to lead. Imagine what diference could have been made if both PF and UPND picked Honourable Given Lubinda to be sponsored by the two parties as Presidential Candidate and then HH become Veep so that HH could lead Parliament to do wonders for Zambia.
This would have been the best thing to do for Zambia. But Hon. Sata frastrated such health plans for Zambia.
You see, Sata’s failure to acknowledge that he can serve well as a Prime Minister or Presidential Adviser is very retrogress to Zambian Politics.

  183. Anyway, HH is still growing. He still has a bright future to do the learning.
Unfortunately even SATA is also growing, but that will simply make him too old for the job.
As for Miyanda he just wants to contribute to the nation; not necessarily plot 1.
For RB, all is set; he has what it takes to lead a nation.
He has the diplomatic experience to manage international relations. He also has the experience as Vice President for close to 2 years.
He also has the experience as Acting President; all he needs is to be confirmed. You cant be more geared than this.

  184. However, it is not too late. Since Hon. Sata knows that he can not win this election and HH has a more National representaion from all over the country, Sata can support HH for President and endorse HH before it is too late for both of them have filed nominations for Zambian President. Then HH can consider placing Sata as Prime Minister with Given lubinda as Veep to HH.
This is a master plan which all well meaning Zambians must support. I like and love Sata for his contribution to Zambian politics. He will be remembered as a selfless man who led to TRUE change in Zambia by letting young men with energy to carry on the Zambian Dream. Viva HH, Viva Sata. One Zambia, One Nation.

  185. #271. Mwiiyi waku Musanza,
That wish sounds nice, I wish it was not a wish.
Appetite for plot 1 is the same in HH as it is in SATA.
It may need a counsellor to deal with appetite levels before you can get them to talk.
Not where you call for talks with the view to convice the other person to submit to you, and when the other person does not submit to your will you say talks have failed.

  186. Mwiyi, its Hh who was stubon coz all he wanted was to be pres. Had he been reasonable, if would have agreed to be sata’s vice up to 2011. But he is power hungry and doesnt want to learn he is going to end up as opposition. Abt that girl what re you lookg

  187. But all in all, I salute the chiefs.
They have show a great sense of maturity and wisdom, though I know that this wisdom not many will see it, and of course that is normal.
They have managed to help HH to get back to original principles of UPND – that time when UPND did not necessarily need to be headed by a tonga, but any capable Zambian. Of course HH is capable but the environment, the premises and the platform were ill-timed for HH.
Thanks chiefs, you have once again began to restore UPDN’s image which got so dented.

  188. #273, I want to show the world that I am not a Tribalist or a racist. If I marry a Tonga, I will not convince anyone that I am serious about what I am saying. Now, since people have been seeing a cold war between Bemba and Tonga people – atleast on the internet – I want/need a Bemba so as to harmonise and harness the working together of Bembas and Tongas. Per adventure, I can stand for Zambian President in 2016 and show that I am married to a Bemba nkeche. Anyway, we will see what the good lord will provide. And please, I need your prayers and lets us all pray for Zambia and our new President to-be. Let us Pray for peace and may you all be blessed.

  189. #272, Come back home. HH’s appetite for State House is not the same as SataN’s. Sata has gone against his doctor’s advise not to vay for presidency. His medical reviews are due. But he is busy on the campaign trail. At whose loss? its his own health at risk and tax payers if he dies in plot 1. HH is not sick; mentally, economically and morally. Whereas, Sata is sick in all these avenues.

  190. Now, #s 272 and 273. Here is the new strategy. I am schiching back my username to Maestro Hhehhehhehhe. This time, I will campaign for both Sata and HH to come together to remove the MMD.
We need true and meaningful reconciliation for once. Personal issues will not take us all anywhere, but we will move mountains and achieve much as a united front.
Zambians CHOICE YABOOLA. IT is not too late. Our great leaders HH and Sata can still work together to remove the MMD. Let us all support the Merging of UPND and PF to remove RBB and his MMD come October 30, 2008. Zambia Forward.

  191. Lets look at this:RB according to anyadule was fired by KK from namboard because of corruption. This same RB they are saying was an MP in 1991 on UNIP ticket and again bribbed another Sakala to convert him into UNIP.So when was RB working for Namboard?Does it mean that, Ba KK fired him and then called him to stand as MP?

  192. #274 and 277. I am now back as Maestro Hhehhehhehhe fro “Mwiiyi waku Musanza”. Brothers and Sisters, let us move Zambia in the forward direction. This is now not about HH or Sata. This is about removing the MMD which has failed Zambia and Zambians for more than 17 years now.
Hon. Sata may be old and its true he had a heart-attack, but let us convince Sata to leave politics gracefully. We can do it. It is not too late.
Viva HH and viva Sata. I am now humbly asking Sata and HH to come back to Sata’s proposed PF-UPND indaba. Sata ran way from KK’s meeting to bring HH and Sata together, but that does not matter now. I am urging all well-meaning Zambians to advice these 2 great leaders SIT.

  193. The root cause of corruption in the MMD is Chiluba. Its now clear that Corruption is contegious. All those who have joined MMD have been diagonised with the virus. Those who resist corruption have ended up dying. #279, you great ideas, just redirect your focus and all shall be well with you.

  194. #279 wanyanya,
    Great analysis!
I like people who analyse issue and are not scared to use logic.
From what you have just said, one can tell the M’membe’s stories in his POST magazine causes excitement only to intellectually vulnerable people, not all Zambians.
You can clearly tell that the man sits under a tree and comes up with those fake and inconsistent stories in his fiction magazine.
It is just a pity that he manages to edit the minds of some analytically vulnerable Zambians.
Even himself wonders how his fake stories manage to convince people.

  195. Honourable Sata, please let HH lead the PACT and make sure Lubinda is promised the Veep of Zambia position with Sata as Prime Minister. This marriage of convinience will carry us forward in the right course until 2011. By then Hon. Sata will have full recovered from his heart-attack problem and he may be considered for President. Let us mend our Zambian Constitution in this time. So that Sata who is suspected to be a dictator can take it up if it will be possible in 2011. Viva HH, Viva Sata and Viva Lubinda.
    Choice yaboola (Choice has come).
Now, I have to attend to National Duties and so let us keep this working-together spirit high. It can work and lets give it a try one more time.

  196. #280, Great thinking. Indeed such views will carry Zambia forward. We dont need retrogressive minds. You are a great person at leas for once, Keep it up. Now, tell those remaining PF cadres to see what you are seeing in HH.

  197. #284,thanks. Brothers and Sisters in the ubwato. I call upon all of you to emulate what I have done and join hands to move our only great Country Zambian in the real forward direction. Lets us all come together. It doesnot matter whether you will remain loyal to the PF (Progress Finders) or the UPND (United Progressive Nation Developers). We are all Zambians by blood and diversity in culture. Let us all advise HH and Sata to come together and sit for a serious meeting to move Zambia forward. KK (Super Kenny) is welcome too to the possible indaba. Please, HH and Sata ndakomba, napapata, coem together. We can all shame the devil. We have one common MMD to remove from power. I am signing off.

  198. #284. Stanford
Calling on SATA and HH to come together is not going to yield any result.
It is not SATA or HH to blame for the failed pact. It is their condition. This condition might need attention from either counsellors or doctors. This condition is called ‘apetite for plot 1’.
For as long as this condition is not reduced or dealt with otherwise, they will never have talks.
I have said already, you dont go for talks to convince your colleague to submit to your will. And determine in your heart that if he refuses to submit to my will then the talks will fail. For sure the talks have failed before they start them.

  199. Those of you who want a PACT between SATA and HH you can call Tabo Mbeki to mediate. This time he has a lot of spare time; unlike when he was mediating in Zimbabwe his schedules were quite tight then.

  200. My fiancee is a shushu and let me tell guys, there is trouble in the ruling party.Magande and Banda and many others are not on talking terms. So should rb win this election,MMD will die and unip is resurrecting

  201. I have bn working in Luapula since 2002. I have not really felt being victimised because Im Tonga. But since I was introduced to this blog Iv started getting scared for my life and that of my family. These elections have given a second thought and a feel of wanting to go back home. I have started questioning my safety here.

  202. #290, I just came in to check what is happening and thought it wise to respond to your posting. You see, I have always pointed outthat there is a group of Bemba-tribalists who have overriden the normal well meaning Bemba People of Zambia. Today, I have realised that MMD is playing us games. Some of these tribalists on LT are here to disturb us from working together. You see, there could be shushushus working for the GRZ to make sure that the UPND and PF supporters fail to work together. This is why I have now decided to forget about the past but forge ahead too embrace all Zambians. Fellow Country men and women, I appeal to you overlook any tribal statements that may come to you.

  203. #291 continued. The current strategy by the MMD is to show a picture that RBB has more support from all the Provinces of Zambia. That is why they have forced Chiefs to support them as a way of telling all Zambian people especailly the subjects to Chiefs to follow what the chiefs are saying.
Also, the MMD know that Sata is weak than he was in 2006 and therefore want to show a picture that Sata is popular on LT. By so doing, the MMD hope that the real strong opposition candidate HH’s supporters will lose heart and thing that HH is nothing in Zambian politics.
These are MMD gimmicks to disintegrate the opposition.

  204. I’m an indigeneous Tonga Bull and I’ve never heard of a chief Kaingu in Southern province. Kaingu can only be Lozi. This chap probably owns a farm in Southern province and is only a chief on his farm. Don’t be misled fellow bloggers – it’s a lie.

  205. #292 continued.
Ask yourselves Zambians a question? Why is it that the MMD is now focussing its campaign in Northwestern, Western and Southern Provinces?
The MMD know that Nothern and Luapula Provinces together with the CB are not a problem for them. Eastern Province has been taken since it is a UNIP and FDD stronghold and RB comes from there.
Thus only minds which think above a normal average person will see what is happening right now. The gimmick is too cheat the opposition not to merge while the MMD will portray a picture that RBB has already won so that gullible people will vote RBB.

  206. #294 continued. Ladies and Gentleman, I was a UNZA monk and I am still a UNZA monk. Our strength lies in working together amidst confusion. At at UNZA, we strategised by sitting together at the MONK SQUARE in the mighty RUINS. Matures, Monks, Mojos, Lumpens and momas and you name it would all come together and decide on a way forward when a CRISIS arouse.
Now, we have a CRISIS and we need to come together and fight the MMD. This is not about HH or Sata or the POST. This is abnout fighting a battle to free our children from future trouble. The power lies not only in our hands but in working together. This is why I am proposing Sata’s PF-UPND indaba to come RIGHT now.

  207. Looking at these conjectures and at this juncture we have reached, I am calling on all progressive Zambians to phone Sata’s and HH’s campaign team to come together. We have a constitution to fix and our Children’s future to secure.
Think, think, think and think again before you write something on LT.
Viava HH for Zambian President, Lubinda for Zambian Veep and Sata for Prime Minister. Super kenny was and is right.
Zambia Forward. This is the only way to go before Sata and the PF loses it all for good.

  208. Im not Maestro for nothing! Fellow countrymen and wome, please drop these arguments they are wasting time, we have an election to win by making sure the MMD guys lose. We have argued on the same things for close to a month now and these arguments have not yielded anything except hurt, hate and division. This is what makes RBB and the MMD to be happy.
Please, those who have contact details of people in both the PF and UPND, please convert your energy into good use by phoning those people and tell them to go for an indaba right now. We can have 20 days of making sure HH wins as Zambian President with Lubinda and Sata taking a serious lead in the UPND-PF GRZ to-be. Later.

  209. Let me tell you straight.KK lost it, Chiluba switched on the engine to economic recovery, and LPM managed the already switched on engine and he has been over glorified, period.

  210. Very confusing of our chiefs. Why then say we dont want the opposition in our areas? Kalale was saying the chief are free to endorse the candidate of their choice. Fine but why go to the extent of saying their areas are no go zones for the opposition? Why not clarify the voice of the chiefs as personal or cooperate(talking on behalf of the subordinates) Why allow the chief to endorse RB but tell them they shud not involve in politics if they are seen endorsing an opposition candidate?
Double standards are not good and God doesnt want such. So he will judge the MMD and the judiciary for being partial

  211. The majority of chiefs in the Southern Province are very educated. I expected them to understand the danger of suporting one party. When a candidate of their choice fails to win, the area would be side lined in terms of development. These presidents are human beings. They always revenge by not developing areas they were not voted for. Chiluba did this to Chipata when Chipata people voted for UNIP in 1991. Chiluba fixed the road up to Luangwa Bridge. In the second term Chipata voted for him and he fixed the the road up to Nyimba. When Chipata continued with MMD by voting for Mwanawasa, the road is now being fixed up to Chipata. This is how far cheap politics can go in Zambia. Wake up Chiefs.

  212. 25 you are very dull, in these modern times to support sata speaks volumes about your character.Your President has been rejected by zambians not once but several times ,but being dull as he is, he keeps forcing himself on zambians.Tell him and you should get it, the zambian presidency is not a lotto which you keep trying until you win,the same zambians that rejected him are the same ones that are going to reject him again. He simply has no capacity to rule us, at least not that caliber(kaponya). So just pack you TITANIC and retire.

  213. CORRUPT RB HAS HIRED A UK IMAGE BUILDER – BRINGING BACK COLONIALISTS TO BLIND THE PEOPLE AGAIN. ABASH BEING LIED TO BY RB AND HIS WHITE COLONIAL MASTERS TEACHING HIM SPIN AND HOW TO CHEAT THE PEOPLE. WHAT IMAGE BUILDING CAN YOU DO FOR A CORRUPT, BRIBING LIAR? SAYS ALOT ABOUT THAT KA SAME WHITE IMAGE BUILDER. WE DONT NEED FOREIGNERS MANIPULATING THE PEOPLE IN THE BACKGROUND AND GETTING FAT CHECKS FOR IT.

  214. As of today and the days to come, chiefs will also be filling in notination to be a chief. This is because chiefs are also now politicians. The are much in to politics than concerntrating on their works and chiefs in thrie chiefdoms. I believe a chief should work hard and enure that his/her village people are living well in terms of farming and some other major things. They concerntrate less or what they always hope for is for the house of chiefs to resume siting and only for their own benefit.

They are in for cheap politics and forgeting who they really are.

  215. 305 anonymous
Your flag shows you as being deep in the land of the imperialists. We just hope you are not sweeping train stations like you mentor did in the 60’s

  216. Ba Maestro Hhehhehhehhe it too late for a PACT you have already damaged the image of HH through your triblism posting here at this blog. Your repentance now, has come a little bit late and wont change our views of you, UPND and HH. Human mind not like electricity which you can switch on and off whenever you like, it is very difficult to switch on one his mind once its switch off.

  217. its a pity all “real ” chiefs are dead and what we are left with are con men swindling the greedy politicians of their resources in exchange for their support,Please chiefs stay out of this dirty game.

  218. Ba Fine!!
Blind loyalty really blinds absolutely. How can you say M’membe fabricates stories on your RB? Was M’membe working for Times of Zambia in 1991? Was M’membe in Petauke distributing sugar? Does M’membe work at Government House to see your angle RB handing out cash to the boy Lukulu? Your man simply breaths corruption! You can’t even be ashamed of yourself defending such a man? Oh may be that’s what you also do and believe in, if so am sorry Bro!

  219. Even in biblical times, it was the Kings(our chief’s) who first became corrupt, then followed the priests and lastly the prophets. Politicians and our chiefs today are the Kings, while the church are the Priests and our educated men and women are the prophets. Where are the kings, priests and prophets to save us from this corruption that chief’s especially in southern province are exhibiting. The institution of chief’s must be scrapt it has become irrelevant for they have compromised if for bread and butter. viva Mwata Kazembe and the Litunga

  220. much has been said about the chiefs regarding the coming election. how many chiefs have access to LT? the answer is probably less 1%. Whats the point of wasting our time on an issue which will never reach the so call chiefs.
