You must know why you are here. Jesus knew why he came. In John 10:10 He said he came that we might have life and have it to the full. He also came that he might destroy the works of the devil 1John 3:8. He also said in Luke 4:18 that he came to preach the gospel to the poor, to heal the broken hearted to preach deliverance to the captives, recovering sight to blind to set at liberty them that are bound and to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Jesus understood his purpose for being here and hence everything he did was in line to fulfill this purpose.
Your purpose is defined in the purpose of Jesus Christ. You don’t have a purpose outside Christ because the Bible says in Acts 17:28 that ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ So our very existence is in Jesus, therefore his purpose for living becomes our purpose.
Jesus is now in heaven. He cannot preach the gospel to the lost except through you. He is depending on you to make manifest the savor of his Glory to this corrupt generation. He has made you a light to the world… so shine for Jesus with the gospel of salvation to the lost.
You are the hope for the world; you are the answer to the people’s problems. You are deliverer of the oppressed.

I asked Jesus for thru my prayers a pay raise at work two years ago and I am still waiting. Should I go on to wait on him!! If he listens why hasn’t he acted on my request up to now. Help please!!

Teach people to read the Bible. They will benefit from it. They will learn that God has not changed his original design “the blue print” this is, man was created to live forever in paradise on earth. Now man should clean earth and live forever on it.
#2] Simply because you do NOT seem to receive the blessing of your specific needs does NOT mean that His love ceases to exist. It does NOT mean you can’t discover your purpose in life. Perhaps, there’s another purpose he wants to utilize, that lies unnoticed in your life. Believe you me Mr. “Muzi”; there’s something GREAT, and astoundingly great, about your life that you are yet to discover. Just pay attention to your life and you’ll know that there’s something much more worth than a simple pay rise! Faith without deeds is like the body without spirit! Don’t just believe …do something about it in your will power. What if he sees you having a company of your own? Will you still doubt?

Thanks LT for the change of topic :). Gives me a opportunity to concentrate on myself and ask myself what is my purpose in life. Most of those we read about on your forum are politicians who may believe that is their purpose in life but a number of us don’t use time to reflect over our own purpose.
I try to spend time thinking about what my purpose in life is and I may already have the answer but I don’t see it or rather understand it. I pray that God may continue revealing Himself to me and others in my same situation.
Clean, clean the earth so that you can live on it for ever in paradise. Don’t particpate in populution of the earth. If you are a government official in charge of not allowing toxic effluents into rivers, do your job without being corrupt. This way you are contributing to clean rivers and the life that habit in it. Just because he is not here physically doesn’t mean he cannot preach Read matthew 23:10 where Yahushuah calls himself the teacher of men and only he alone. Our purpose in life is to repent ,obey and follow his example. #2 I feel your pain I used to pray for more money, materials and a golf gti 2008 edition. But after A while i realised sometimes what we ask for is not what we need, our hearts desires are not our souls desires. Ask yourself how important is a slaary raise when you are fed and well kept, I payed for things that would change me as man into something worse. Right now my heart desires a 50 inch plasma screen but my soul needs spiritual help if I ask for a plasma tv i won’t get answered because thats just a luxury. Seek the kingdom of YHWH first and everything shall follow, material gain is secondary to good spiritual health. If i may be intrusive whats the salary raise for ? is it more beer

You can look at it both ways. The Almighty is not a wish-machine where we slot in our requests and they are fulfilled. We have to understand His purpose before we can even discover our purpose in life.
The other thing is that God has endless mercies and goodness for His children but He will not force them upon us. We have to step forward in faith and claim them. How many of us have ever wrestled with God like David when he said “I will let you go until you bless me!”?
So we should not always be satisfied with less.

By the way why do people refer to old testament when you talk about riches and to the new testament when talk about sabbath?They call themselves Christians meaning Jesus’s followers.Christ never lead a luxurious life.
