Rupiah Banda asked to unconditionally pardon Chiluba

Share

The Movement for moral rearmament has appealed to president Rupiah Banda to unconditionally pardon second republican president Frederick Chiluba.

Movement chairperson, Kelvin chulu, says president Banda should use his constitutional rights to pardon the second republican president.

Mr. Chulu told znbc news that the seven years, which the former president has lived in confinement, is punishment enough.

He said pardoning Dr. Chiluba will also save resources being used in trying to secure a conviction against the former head of state.

Mr. Chulu said the government is spending huge sums of money on trying Chiluba instead of channelling the money to needy areas like health and education.

He also said Zambia is Christian nation, which should uphold the tenets of Christianity by forgiving and loving one another.

  1. Really, alot of money is being spent trying Chiluba at an expense of developmental project. The Nchito brothers are stinkinng rich now!!

  2. There we go with cheap reasoning. In a Christian nation we should allow thieves to be forgiven. Well, we saw it coming when Dr FTJ started campaign for RB. But this is a mockery to the poor people who voted for RB on the promise of fighting corruption.

  3. This Chulu man is funny, by vertue of Zambia being a christian Nation, we should forgive kabwalalas’. What has happened to Democracy and the rule of Law. Zambians should realise that democracy is expensive!! how expensive, Very very expensive.

  4. i agree though, even with my scorching detatse of FTJ and the region that he hails from, i am not in cohort with the idea of anymore state funds to persecute a useless midget when all the money has been spent on reginas make up and VIAGRA for FTJ… pardon him and let natural justice take its course at morningside clinic.

  5. ya just close these cases, they are a drain on the nation’s resources and just making Levy’s friends wealthy. If you still don’t want to close them then just set up a special court with the mandate to finish these cases within 2 months ..they should work exclusively on these cases. Cases taking almost 10 years. During this period I have had a Son and he is now doing Grade 1 and Chiluba still on trial , come on people

  6. I am sorry Mr Chulu but what are we pardoning him from?? He has not admitted anything he wants to prove he is innocent so let him do so. Even the Late wanted to forgive the man if he admitted his wrong doings he didnt want to do that coz he believe he is innocent so let the courts decide

  7. When the late president just won the 2006 election, he said that the task force has only recovered 400,000 dollars, while the government has spent 10 million dollars to pay the lawyers. The thing lets through Chiluba behind bars tomorow or lets stop all these nonsense

  8. Even the poor petty thieves should be pardoned.Chiluba mudala you played your part by campaigning for RBB so you deserve it???????????????????

  9. Dr Shock I agree with you am shocked and choked that we are yet to see the true colours of the so called justice which some people now want it to be slective. The Whole Chimbokaila and Mukobeko might aswell be pardoned and we start afresh. Am sure we are all christians and we’ll now leave in harmony.

  10. Pardon Chiluba for what? Chiluba is innocent until proven guilty by a competent court of law. The president has no power to pardon innocent people. Don’t jump the gun ba chulu. Wait for the due process of the law

  11. ok, then all the criminals and thieves in all remand prisons should be pardoned because Zambia is a christian nation eh! Why Chiluba alone?

  12. #9. you are right my friend though i don’t agree pardoning a case coz zambia is christian.
this man has contributed a lot in our povert sitaution.
forgiving him won’t teach the rest any lesson. so just make it quick and let justice be done.
besides, i see this as RB’s tactic using chulu to fulfil what he promised FTJ during the compaign.
just be quick, what we have wasted on him is big and will be bigger if justoce is not done. JUST BE QUICK PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

  13. Looking at the period Chiluba,s cases has taken, it was clear that his cases wre not going anywhere. Although am PF,i think just pardon the man.Better that way instead wasting money on the cases which wont escort Chiluba behind bars. But Chiluba please dont behave the way you did prior to the polls.Leave my president Sata alone.Guys lets just leave hin, besides his health has been failing him!

  14. ba zambia, since wen do we circumvent the due process of the law for compaigning on one’s behalf.

politics of benefit at play. imelandu nashifula!

  15. Chiluba has not apologised, he says he is inncoent. So what is there to forgive. Come on Bakabwalala.. Is stealing hard wired in your brains. let the law take it course and morever chiluba is enjoying all the freedom and entitlememnt of which his fellow thieves does not enjoy…
We promise to prosecute and arrest RB if he abuses his power..Come 2011.

  16. RB should not EVEN DARE…The law should take its course…FTJ has never been apologetic to the Zambian for some of the suffering brought upon them..besides we are waiting for the london court ruling to be registered in the high court of Zambia..As for Kelvin chulu i wouldnt be surprised if you have been given a brown envelop to start this campaign…UTTER NONSENSE!!

  17. #11 LPM was a bitter person.Look at how much he spent trying to fix Chiluba.Paying the foreign lawyers, setting up live court sessions. It is noteven 10 million dollars. It is much more than that.thats why the zambian economy did not pick up when the copper price was at its best. This is what sent LPM to a very expensive single room at embassy park.He was always a worrying person finding means and ways of convicting Kafupi.UK will support anything as long as it is against a black person.yes let Kafupi freeeeee!!!!!!!!

  18. This ‘Movement for Moral Rearmament’ must be Chiluba’s NGO or this Chulu guy benefitted from Chiluba’s money. How can one suggest such a thing? Chiluba, should he get convicted, must not receive any pardon. An example must be shown to all would-be plunderers.

I find the name of the organisation laughable too. ‘Moral Rearmment’? Ha! Kwisa?

  19. MR CHULU IS MISTAKEN. FORGIVENESS COMES AFTER AND ONLY AFTER CONFESSION. IF WE FOLLOW CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES, YESHUA SAID, ‘BECAUSE YOU SAY YOU HAVE NO SIN, YOU WILL DIE IN YOUR SINS.’ ELSEWHERE THE HOLY SPIRIT SAYS, ‘IF WE SAY WE HAVE NOT SINNED WE DECEIVE OURSELVES AND THE TRUTH IS NOT IN US, BUT IF WE CONFESS OUR SINS, HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUST TO FORGIVE US AND THE BLOOD OF JESUS CLEANSES US FROM ALL SIN.’ NOW MR CHILUBA DENIES TO HAVE SINNED AGAINST GOD AND THE PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA. SO THERE IS NOTHING TO FORGIVE BUT TO LET HIM HAVE HIS DAY IN COURT. ONLY LET THE LAW AND NOT POLITICS TAKE ITS COURSE.

  20. If this so-called Movement for Moral Reamament is to live by the statement made in its name, its should condemn the manner in which Chiluba got someone else’s wife and married her. Now thats a moral issue for your organisation, Mr. Chulu.

  21. I don’t know why some people are so insane in their way of thinking! This man with a few cases having been proved, is evidence enough that FTJ is a thief! The Lawyers want to just make money out of this as they are culprits(also plunderers)! When they don’t know what to say or do, they seek adjournment of cases, since everything they refer to is,”HISTORY MEMORIZED”! Lawyers have to only show skills of history memorized. Every time in Court, they refer to a certain case like,”FISHER vs BELL” case & argue from that angle!
How simple it is to just lock up FTJ and throw the keys to the JAIL away! This man committed a crime against the Zambian people, so the sooner is locked up the better!

  22. Who are these people in The Movement for moral rearmament? Is it some form of “Amnesty Zambia” for political culprits? Anyway, it’s the president’s sole prerogative to pardon anyone he wishes. No matter what the nation (or bloggers) say.

  23. Chiluba should go to jail for 12 months-to make a good example out of him that leaders are not exempt from being guests of the state in an off white uniform. They should flash some pictures of him in prison gab scratching his head; then in the spirit of reconciliation-be brought back into society. Period. That way we will set an example that being a president does not put you above others. We cannot ignore the fact that we have indeed spent enough on this exercise.

  24. in the good ole days when something or someone became a political liability on anyones mandate to rule, the african way was to have the person “dissappear or assasinated”, no need for anything bloody or violent, just let the guy overdose on viagra or something, do we really need FTJ, he can join Abacha, Idi Amin, Kamuzu and Kabila Sr

  25. DEMOCRACY IN ZAMBIA IS BEING HIJACKED BY ALL THESE TUNTEMBA NGOs. THEY GO TO DONORS GET A FEW DOLLARS FORM SCANDINAVIAN AND DUTCH LIBERALS THEN SET UP NGOs AND WANT TO TELL US WHAT TO DO. WE HAVE PARLIAMENT AND ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES OF THE PEOPLE AND THEY SHOULD BE THE ONES TALKING. IT IS HIGH TIME THAT ZAMBIAN MEDIA STOPPED GIVING VOICE TO THESE TUNTEMBA NGOs WHO WANT TO OVERTURN DEMOCRACTIC PROCESSES WHILE PRETENDING TO BE GUARDIANS OF DEMOCRACY. THE SAME GOES FOR THE ECCLESIASTICAL LEADERS. THEY CAN GIVE ADVICE BUT THEY SHOULD NOT USE THEIR COLLARS FOR PUSHING PERSONAL PROGRAMMES. EVERY ZAMBIAN SHOULD BE ALLOWED POLITICAL COMMENT AS AN INDIVIDUAL CITIZEN WITH INDIVIDUAL OPINION.

  26. If Zambia is a Democratic Nation, and votes in a President who run on a certain campaign platform, thenhe goes against everything he ran on, then Democracy must demand that he be thrown out of office. So, once RB pardons this criminal who has caused alot of misery, he MUST resign on moral grounds!

I think some people should not even be give time to upen their mouths, just like Tetamashimba is another useless chap!

  27. # 41 not if you compare to the real good ole days remember the early retiremenet of Savimbi, Penza, Lumumba, Murtala Muhammed, Haile Selasie, Gen Ironsi, ken saro wiwa, samora Machel, Habriyama, i still have the video of the torture and death of samuel Doe, now that was a plunderer indeed look at Liberia today, is that what zambians want???

  28. IF WE FORGIVE CHILUBA WITHOUT LETTING THE COURT TO DESIDE, WHAT WILL WE DO TO THE NEXT NATIONAL PLUDERER?
WHAT LESSON WILL CHILUBA AND THE OTHERS TO BE LEARN?
WHAT WILL STOP RB AND HIS CABINET FROM DOING THE SAME?
WHAT ARE YOU TEACHING THE PEOPLE MR. CHULU?
WHAT MORALS ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?
DO YOU KNOW WHAT REFORMATION MEANS?
ARE YOU THERE TO BRING ABOUT GOOD MORALS OR THE OTHERWAY ROUND?
    ARE YOU MORALY RIGHT YOURSELF?
DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE PRINCIPLES OF FORGIVENESS?

DO YOU DESERVE TO BE CALLED MR.?

  30. The social gain earned by prosecuting Chiluba cannot be quantified by the amount we paid lawyers and the amount recovered. As Zambian we have scored the first in Africa and are respected worldwide for that. We prosecuted the thieving past president. We have taught the world that if Zambia can do it they can also did it. Besides, by Chiluba’s prosecution, we certainly have prevented other potentials thieves in Zed and abroad from engaging in corruption therefore saving more money that again can’t be quantified. Thieves in the government now think twice as the law may catch up with them one day. Example Ka Chiluba.

  31. Most Zambians hate Chiluba because of reading the Post…they found him guilty and imprisoned him for too long ,its time for forgiveness..

  32. IN THE SAME VEIN IT VEXES ME WHEN DIPLOMATS ASSIGNED TO ZAMBIA COMMENT ON OUR POLITICS. I HAVE NEVER HEARD A ZAMBIAN HIGH COMMISSIONER TO UK GO TO BBC AND COMMENT ABOUT THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT FOR SOMETHING THAT IS UNRELATED TO ZAMBIA! OK, THEY FUND SOME PROJECTS HERE AND THERE BUT IS THIS FUNDING CONDITIONAL? WE MAY NOT LIKE IT BUT THAT IS ONE REASON WHY POOR COUNTRIES GO TO CHINA FOR HELP. THE CHINESE HAVE BEEN GIVING US AID FOR DECADES BUT WE DO NOT HEAR THEM COMMENT ON THE POLITICS. WE NEED TRUE INDEPENDENCE.

  33. This FTJ chap is very dangerous and evil! Who killed, Ronald Penza, Wezi Kaunda, Baldwin Nkhumbula, Paul Tembo etc? Can the people who are advocating for his pardon read between the lines? This chap had Kaunda even locked-up, so what is difficult to put the chap in JAIL and then I can keep the keys!

  34. Theres a queue at Mukobeko for people who want to be pardoned. He should be thrown in there and join the queue of those who want to be pardoned. Anyways lets see what Ba RB will say by tomorrow or next month or in decade as he is not in a hurry.

  35. #55 why not give him the same retiremnet package he gave Ronald Penza, Wezi Kaunda, Baldwin Nkhumbula, Paul Tembo. I say to the Intelligence office, the next time he goes to morning side clinic slip him some cyanide or simply inject some air in his blood stream. Im tired of FTJ stealing our money and then stealing it again in legal fees and yet we could build a school in kasama

  36. Either Chiluba’s cases are closed or continue paying tax payers’ money on these cases, continuing getting poorer. Cost benefit analysis. Chiluba will never be prosecuted, closing cases will Government to take our monies to appropriate projects. Prosecutors in the task force are one of billionaire now Zambia counts.

  37. Whats wrong with Zambia???? why should we live as if ‘TUBUTAFYE’ Everything should be conducted according to the law, people suffered because of Chiluba, and now those up there cause they got nothing to loose, they want to start pardoning each other so that they still more, what in the world is that supposed to mean? some one is guilty, he needs to be tried, and a fair judgement should be passed, theres nothing like vozibana apa. Make a decision that will atleast please the majority… COME ON GUYS…!!! Poseniko amano.

  38. Either Chiluba’s cases are closed or continue paying tax payers’ money on these cases, continuing getting poorer. Cost benefit analysis. Chiluba will never be prosecuted, closing cases will allow Government to take our monies to appropriate projects. Prosecutors in the task force are one of billionaire now Zambia counts.

  39. Atase iwe chulu. Is it your money we are using to prosecute Dr. Chiluba? I am sure you do not even pay tax. How can the president pardon some one who claims to be innocent. What morals does your organization stand for when you want to pardon a suspect. This is nauseating, how many people are in Chimbokaila on whom govt is spending alot of money but we have never talked about pardoning them. What justice are we doing to the fight against corruption by forging Dr. Chiluba? I MISS LEVY

  40. When the then new MMD government changed the currency to remove KK on it, they contracted they changed currency printers, i’m now not sure from which one to which one but it is between thomas de la rue and harrison and son. K6 billion of the money never went through the bank of zambia. it had already started circulating in zaire and on katondo street before it was officially released. no one talks about this case. bane fred needs to be dealt with!!!!

  41. #53 Pastor J..give us a break..are you also telling us that Judge Smith was influenced by THE Post.By the way FTJ being tried by the London High court is constitutional and this judgement is going through the registration process in Zambia.FTJ should not cry foul coz he did the same to KK when he brought in Scotland Yard to investgate him for a period of 6 months..Let the law take its course and forgiveness will come later.

  42. no 53 pastor J: chiluba is not in court coz we hate him. also, and most importantly, forgiving someone doesnt mean they dont face the consequences of their actions. so if chiluba would be found quilty and asks for forgiveness, we will forgive him but he wud still have to face whatever punishment wud b decided by the courts. amount of moni spent on the prosecution process is beside the point. its the principle. otherwise we shud just forgive everyone with court cases to save moni.

  43. If sugar daddy pardons Chiluba, then what happens if sugar daddy steals more than Chiluba? Come on you are telling people to steal when they are head of state. Let Chiluba continue going to court and be imprisoned if found guilty.

  44. Either Chiluba’s cases are closed or continue paying tax payers’ money on these cases, continuing getting poorer. Cost benefit analysis. Chiluba will never be prosecuted, closing cases will allow Government to take our monies to appropriate projects. Prosecutors in the task force are one of billionaires now Zambia counts.

  45. #10 I agree with you. One can only be pardoned if the plead guilty. And chiluba wants to prove his innocence, so trial must go on till the truth is known.

  46. It’s not up to the president to pardon Chiluba, this was not a presidential case but a case against a former president by the people. It’s up to the prosecutors to give the final verdict. At least he should be sentenced to look after the street kids and all venerable people for life, cause by his reckless looting of resources. He should be given an office to fund raise for these people and pay back what he looted!! locking him up will be a waste of tax payers money.

  47. Chuluba should be very dull. With all he was saying that he wiil only support a candidate who had promised him a better deal and just one week two days after RB has been sworn in he (Chiluba) is asking to be forgiven! No wonder RB has been silent he knows what deals he had made.

  48. How much has this so called Kelvin Chulu been given to say what he is saying? This is becoming a habit of paying people to say things….one of them is now seeking asylum for saying more then he was paid for :-/

  49. WE MAY BE ENVIOUS THAT THE NCHITO BROTHERS ARE ‘STINKING RICH’ BUT THEY ARE LAWYERS WHO ARE DOING THIS VERY DIFFICULT JOB WITH EVIDENCE GIVEN TO HIM BY A GOVT APPOINTED TASK FORCE AND PUTTING THEIR LIVES AT RISK. I ASK. WHY DIDN’T THE DPP LEAD THE PROSECUTION? LPM WAS A LAWYER BUT WHY DID HE ALLOW THIS SITUATION? I THINK IT IS BECAUSE TOP LAWYERS ARE IN PRIVATE PRACTICE. IT IS AN INDICTMENT OF THE LEGAL PROFESSION THAT THE BAD ONES REMAIN IN PUBLIC SERVICE. THESE ARE POORLY PAID, UNDERMOTIVATED AND WOULD NOT HAVE PERSUED THIS CASE WITH SUCH ALACRITY. BY NOW THE PLUNDERERS WOULD HAVE BEEN ACQUITED. I WISH WE HAD A SYSTEM LIKE THE USA WHERE THE DA’S OFFICE IS THE FIRST STEP TO LEGAL GLORY.

  50. did anyone ever watch the movie “Mr Johnson”, it was about a corrupt african clerk/official ??? in the end he was shot!!!

  51. #67 If Government wanted to jail FTJ they should have done so based on the London Judgment…instead they kept on tormenting him in court to earn Kudos from the IMF and the world bank … the man despite his flaws is not a common criminal, he has done much service to the nation and he should be forgiven based on the good things he had done.

  52. It is actually not a “pardon!” It is dropping off a malicious campaign that was aimed at tarnishing a great leader of Zambia. Stop it boys.

  53. #73 SARAH, SARAH, SARAH YOU HAVE SWALLOWED THE PERTUBATION OF WORDS BY THE POST HOOK, LINE AND SINKER!
AS YOU CAN SEE FROM MY CONTRIBUTIONS ON THIS MATTER I AM NOT IN SUPPORT OF CHILUBA, BUT I THINK THE POST DELIBERATELY MISREPRESENTED WHAT HE SAID. IN A DEMOCRACY EVERY VOTER VOTES FOR SOMEONE WHO WILL GIVE THEM THE BEST DEAL. THAT IS WHAT CHILUBA WAS SAYING. YOU COULD HAVE SAID IT. MEMBE COULD HAVE SAID IT, ANY VOTER COULD HAVE SAID IT. SO PEOPLE SHOULD NOT TWIST A PERSON’S WORDS TO SUIT THEIR OWN SMALL MINDED PERSONAL AGENDAS. I HAVE BEEN AN AVID READER OF THE POST NEWSPAPER AND I PAY UP TO $75 A YEAR FOR THE ONLINE EDITION, BUT HERE THEY WERE WAY OUT OF LINE!

  54. what do u do at the market if a thief is caught before the police come, if someones shouts “kabwalala”…. do the same to FTJ

  55. # 51. The Rhodesian
You are correct, that is the right way to looke at the case. even if we pursue him to his grave, that would be a good example to others.
Froget about the costs, dropping the case would cost Zambia much more morally, and those in power would be saying steal and take the pressure for some years, then you are forgiven and you can enjoy your plunderd funds.
Pursue the thieve into the twilight, no restbite given.

  56. How can a plunderer Chiluba be a great leader? A thief is a thief even if he is your relative or a beneficiary of the plundered resources.

  57. “He said pardoning Dr. Chiluba will also save resources being used in trying to secure a conviction against the former head of state. Mr. Chulu said the government is spending huge sums of money on trying Chiluba instead of channelling the money to needy areas like health and education.”
Good point but let ba-Chiluba confess.
“He also said Zambia is Christian nation, which should uphold the tenets of Christianity by forgiving and loving one another.”
The fact that we are Christians should not mean we forgive anyhow, but forgive when ba-Chiluba confesses.
By the way, where is this group springing up from? Is it newly formed?

  58. seven years is enough for the old man,at least lets show him some appreciation for the change that he brought to our country in 1992,Remember?

  59. So another unknown, crazy chap will echo what Chulu is saying. I know how these guys behave, thats their style. Watch this space.

  60. However, let us forgive former President chiluba and concentrate on developing Zambia.

However, let us fix the Constitution so that the likes of Sata do not find room to manipulate the Zambian people should an eventuality happen in that line of Sata being Zambian President.

  61. #78 Pastor J..It common knowledge that FJT destroyed more than he built. The problem is that he does not show any remorse at all..LPM asked him to give back at least 75% of what he took and he would be forgiven but FTJ denied and he said he was innocent. But thats not for him to say he was innocent, let the courts say so.Why should he worry if he is innocent..Remember this is the same FTJ who refered to u and me as being “DOCILE”..What type of leader goes to the extent of insulting his own people.I SAY AGAIN,MAY JUSTICE PREVAIL !!

  62. Maestro Hhehhehhehhe its been a while… i just recovered from the zambian elections … now look dont say stuff like “Sata being Zambian President.” that makes me very ill….lol

  63. #90 Maestro, You need to form your own forum and political party because we are fed up of your perpetual anti-Sata attacks on this blog. I can help you solicit money to launch your party. I used to be the richest member here but the stock market crash has ruined me. Now I have to go back to my job as phantom cab driver at the Bus terminal at Stuttgart International Airport.

  64. #92, Chengelo Alumni, nice reading from you and that info too. On Sata, I am always trying my best not to write his name and link it to the Zambian Presidency, but sometimes it is necessary.

Anyhow, let us see how the UPND postmortem of the elections results will go. I think, the mighty UPND still has a strong case to offer all Zambian people for 2011.

On ba-Chiluba, I think we have had enough of him and now it is time to move on with developing Zambia instead of wasting money on the TASK FORCE like these are suggesting.

  65. # 90 there is no trade-off between developing Zambia and prosecuting Chiluba, the two are not mutually exclusive so lets not mix issues here. We can prosecute Chiluba while concentrating on Developing Zambia, whatever you mean by that. Actually prosecuting Chiluba is development. We are creating a better society by detering would be corn people through Chiluba. We can also work on the constitution while Chiluba’s case proceeds.

  66. If RB knows what will make him last till 2011, he must not listen to some of these one man NGOs, barking left right and centre. The crimes Chiluba is facing are against the Zambian people, why not let the courts mete out the appropriate punishment? Silly people. Here is a test for the 4th Republican President. I hope he can just keep quiet and not entangle himself!

  67. #93, Nine Chale, nice data nine chalo. I am trying to refrain from ever writing that undereducated man’s name. In fact, I will only refer to him as THE UNDEREDUCATED Leader of his political party.

Have a great day. I will be using Frnkfurt Airport soon and so I might just pass through Stu.

  68. For a pardon to be given a confession must precede it.This has not happened and therefore the issue of being pardoned does not arise.

Let the rule of law ,for whatever its worth in Zambia ,prevail.

  69. #90.Maestro Hhehhehhehhe
Welcome back to the blog, but I disgree with your contribution! The man is a thief, and he must be punished! There’s no appeal to that judgement. I thought that we are trying to set a precident here? So, let us set it! What do you think will happen to our resources when this man is released? RB,Tetamashimba & his corrupt group will steal more and are we going to develop at that rate? These guys are not joking, they are upto more plundering! SATA is not the Topic here! Brink just for one second and these chaps will sell this Country, since they don’t know what a Nation is!

  70. # 91 Don-chi-chi…I think FTJ did not really destroy more than he built, actually what he inherited from KK was like a hot air balloon.. the economy looked big, but had nothing inside..it was pumped up with foreign debt and insolvent govt parastatals.. he had to smash the balloon and begin laying the foundation for some good things we saw under LPM.. however he lost direction in his second term … Lets forgive the man and move on

  71. Pardoned for what? I thought you had to be guilty and serving a sentence to be pardoned? Smells like Zambians are being made to get used to the idea before it is official.

  72. Pressure continues to mount on President to appoint a new cabinet.

Pressure has continued to mount on republican President, Rupiah Banda to immediately appoint a new cabinet.

Today, Opposition Patriotic Front members walked out of parliament when speaker of the national Assembly, Amusa Mwanamwambwa appointed defence Minister, George Mpombo to act, as leader of Government business in the house.

PF Lusaka Central Member of Parliament, Guy Scott raised a point of order asking the speaker, who the minister was representing, as the position is usually occupied by the Vice President.

The PF MPs also argued that the house is illegal as nominated members of parliament were stil

  73. But Speaker of the National Assembly dismissed the point of order saying cabinet has not been dissolved and is still operational.

And Defence Minister George Mpombo described the walking out of PF MPs as uncalled for.

NOW READER WHAT NEXT? LETS HAVE MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION FOR VP.NOT CADRES.

  74. Thank you Number 9…..when something takes TOO long..it eventually loses meaning and really…7 years later…yangu tata….

  75. Chiluba never admitted to have committed any case, but prisoning him will never happen. Gvt would have alread done it if it had interest. RB knows behind it. Zambia budgeted K30bn to send Chiluba to jail for this year. Now that the year is ending another K40bn is on its way for next year’s budget plus his medical fees in South Africa. Guyz do we need to continue spending in these cases whilst people are dying of hanger in Luanwa, no roads in Northwestern? Lets reason. Everybody benefited from Chiluba including Don-chi-chi.

  76. #100, Geologist, Canada. Thanks very much. While ba-Chiluba FTJ needs the exact punishment, I think that they our courts and the TASK FORCE have been a let down. 7 years is a lot of time for us to be revolving on one issue – the Chilba alleged stealing. It is either our courts need re-doing or they have to made independent of GRZ control.
However, I feel this NGO or whatever it is that is calling for President RB Banda to forgive Chiluba has some connections with the Chiluba campaign for RBB in the last Presidential elections and is new only for this cause. otherwise, why did it not ask late LP Mwanawasa to do it? It could be that someone is paying them to seek President RBB to forgive.

  77. Pardon him for what? He must be locked up so that he understands that what he did was not right. There has been far too much evidence indicative of the fact that he created an environment which encouraged stealing of public funds. He did not punish the wrong doers. He caused more hardship to many people by prematurely closing down companies that were doing well. All that was needed was to change management and reduce on the number of employees. If he gets pardoned, all prisoners must riot and fight their way out of prison. They are also human just like FTJ. When it comes to matters of this nature, do not bring in christianity.

  78. #109.Maestro Hhehhehhehhe
The courts & lawyers are a let down indeed, including the politicians who seem to be so much obssessed with power and think that they can do whatever they want! In a case like this, thus were CRISIS MANAGEMENT RULE should apply! Set a goal & time frame for these Lawyers & Judges who want to prolong the case for there own benefits-in the process plundering our resources & wealth. We are too much involved with this case to just let it go like that! We are going to be a laughing stoke to the rest of the Countries. In life, we need to take up challenges where we know that we are winning, so if LPM knew that it was possible to convict someone, Let it happen soon!

  79. This chulu fellow knows more than he is lettin. lLet him spill the beans before a pordon can be considered. Remember Richard Sakala he should be pordoned as well. He did what he boss was doing.

  80. This chulu fellow knows more than he is letting. Let him spill the beans before a pordon can be considered. Remember Richard Sakala he should be pordoned as well. He did what he boss was doing.

  81. if its costing us money,Just shoot the burger.cases will take long to justify. that movement is gov sponsored so that they should say it came from the people when its just a mob for rent

  82. #110.PRISONER
Thanks! We are operating on the same principle! Grasping the Fundamentals of how FTJ reduced out people to almost the level of Chickens is very important, hence forth the locking him up is very easy! He liquidated Zambia Airways, Meridian BIO Bank & put alot of people on a knife edge, yet people want to still worship the chap as though he was Messiah! What’s wrong with some people? This chap was born on the wrong side, as he could not appreciate humans! Alot of people died under his rule!

  83. LT you finally have interesting news. But guys where in hell do these organisations come from moral rearmament my foot!!

  84. But Zambia has produced too much Mfwiti. 95 % of people here their hearts are black, Durfur-black!! You hold prayers even for votes and football, but when it come to practice Uluse you are shout “mutanikeni!!”

  85. in-line with the loud noise being made by empty tins on this blog, all pending cases in courts should be dismissed because its expensive to prosecute them or alternatively all prisoners should be released because its expensive to feed them ,and after we release them, we gonna save money by closing the prisons. while we are at it, lets let all the sick people die coz its expensive to treat them(VJ). just imagine how much money we are going to save……SO SHUT You mothers!* life’s processes are expensive, let chiluba go to jail and takes it it in the rear! ali tangisha umunani, kwashala ukukutulo bwali!!

  86. Chiluba must repent to zambians and will be forgiven he sinned against the people of Zambia. If RB padons him he will not have it easy.

  87. From the start this task force rubbish was mwanawasa’s ungreatfulness. Chiluba brock all the the laws in zambia to make sure mwanawasa becomes head of state, he rigged 2001 elections Chiluba got money from chungu to pay mwanawasa’s loan at FRA, Chuungu is on the run today cos mwanawasa was a very ungreatful chap. prosecution to a point where chuungu lost his dear wife. its upsetting. Yes i think we are spending too much money on chilubas cases. can they be closed!!!!!!

  88. Let chiluba stand trial and be punished. he could not ask for mercy from Mwanawasa, nga lelo chinshi?
Zambia is the poorest country in th eworld but leaders are rich and steal from the same poor people they lead.

  89. Yesterday i said that the the corruption policy of Dr. Kaganja family tree is an academic paper and here we are. Can we be availed the content of the policy. The draft is nonsense if the president haS POWERS to forgive thieves like chiluba, next it will be Katele who will be next??? Let the law take its course if Chiluba is found guilty let him serve his sentence. Whoever is suggesting forgiving is useless what is the purpose of having a Penal Code if the president can easliy override it???

  90. JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED. COME on NCHITO QUICKEN YOUR STEPS AND GET IT OVER AND DONE WITH! WHAT ABOUT PLEA BARGAINING MR CHILUBA? THINK ABOUT IT. AND RB GET THE FUGITIVE CHUNGU BACK BECAUSE YOU DON’T OWE HIM ANYTHING. LPM WAS SCARED THAT HE WOULD REVEAL HOW HE RIGGED THE 2001 ELECTIONS FOR MMD. Well, I am just speculating and alleging.

  91. Only the courts of law will tell weather Chiluba is guity or not. A speedy and fair trail is needed. But as of now let Chiluba stand and prove his innocence in the courts. No premature pardoning because he has no been found guity though he has numerous allegations.

  92. Zambia is in that mess because of Chiluba & colleagues! This is what happens when people with no purpose in life are given power to rule! GOD preserved alot of their souls by not giving them money because by this time they were going to be long gone, but we’ve a fair GOD who would like to see this corrupt FTJ apologise to the Zambian people! He’ll continue suffering until a day he’ll accept that what he did was wrong! This is a chap who wanted to plunder everything in Zambia, including other peoples wives! Infact, he has never apologised for that! Even singing Ushimbe!
Alot of things need to be done to remove all insane big mouth chaps who think that the people of Zambia have forgotten!

  93. so does anybody think the midget is innocent, why waste time going to court when everyone here knows fully well that the guy is guilty, after the court case he will still be pardoned, so since u dont really want justice, why not just let him scott free and let him continue raping the country of its funds…didnt he just get a new VX… yeah zambia the real africa

  94. Stealing in the night, in the afternoon and in the morning was as a result of not having had money before coming into power, but above all mental poverty!

  95. You know what guys, this has been well planned. RB knows that,if he just stands up today and say he has forgiven Chiluba,he would face criticism from every corner. So in their analisis they hav seen it proper to use people like chulu to speak like that.So what wil happen next is that, other people wil join in showing support of this. Then eventually RB wil come in and say due to calls by the people,i have decided to pardon Chiluba. He wil even use the word reconciliation.Just like how the chiefs behaved before Rb was elected as a part and Republican president thats what you see.Just wait and see,me i wil never be cheated by this government.

  96. Let FTJ pay back the money he plundered and apologise in sincere terms.Let him to get his croonies to pay back all they took unlawfully, let all of them address the Zambian people publicly. They should go to each provincial capital and publicly apologise. Maybe then RB should consider, under legal advice, whether to offer a pardon.

  97. chiluba never pardoned the zambia people from the hardships he caused on ordinary zambians in ten that he ruled this country, he sold the mines withon condition of some funny taxe exemptions, now windfall taxes cant even be collected becoz of him. AKOSE, NO PARDONING,WALACHIMONA pamo na CHUULU.

  98. Streetkid, you are right! Zambians, what do you think about another K40bn budgeted in Chiluba’s case for next year? These monies are going into Chitos pockets without value. Chito bought planes out of Chiluba’s cases. For the last seven years Zambia has spent K40 trillion on task force. Should we continue, alread in poverty you pipo for something without interest of Gvt.

  99. Pardon FTJ, what a lot of rubbish! What message will the govt be sending to other serving leaders. That is it is okay to steal from govt? Chiluba must be locked up to show the whole world that Zambia does not condone theft. Sata is watching the space and it RB pardons Chiluba, Sata will make some big political capital out of it. Anyway, this Chulu boy must have been paid by Chiluba to start instigating. He must also be investigated for plunder.

  100. Kamangeni the chap has even put on alot of weight he is eating fast foods using stollen money probe chulu also he has been given some money

  101. Who ever thought of Zambia as a Christian Nation must have their head examined. Surely this must be an insult to our fore fathers who prayed under a tree and knew their own way of praying and believed in what they believed in. We have lost a lot by declaring our nation a Christian nation where ars Israel itself has never declared itself a Christian Nation despite Christ being born amongst them. There is a saying in West Africa which goes, “If the Aligator comes out the river and tells you the old Croc is dead, who are you argue?” We never lived with Christ, they did.
Separate personal belief and conviction from state politics, you will surely end being confused. A thief is a thief.

  102. this is complete rubbish. its not about spending money, its about justice. i dont care how much money goes behind someones conviction, if i gets away with pardon, be assured there will be more who will ask for it in the future.

Please the the courts decide no matter how long it takes. Plundereres should be brought to justice no matter what.

  103. Who is this Chulu? Gentlemen! you don’t just open your mouth and allow rubbish to come out of if, why is he trying to trivialize the chiluba cases? does he know that people have lost lives as a result of chiluba’s treachery during his ten year rule!

  104. No need to pardon Chiluba because he has not admitted to committing any crime of theft.
The magistrate court has put him on his defense on one corruption case and there are a few others pending. The london high court found him guilty and he still claims his innocence.
    So why pardon him.

  105. Two questions for Chiluba – what does he think a pardon would mean? And how does he feeel when he meets Regina’s former husband?

I am sure the man has no morals and should surrender Regina to the state as she was bought using public funds. He should also be asked to compensate all those who died for lack of medicine in our hospitals when he was busy abusing our money with other people’s wives. Shame on Chiluba and I hope RB can turn a bl;lind eye to all these machinations. Zambia deserves better than glorfying thieves.

  106. ADDITIONALLY, HE SHOULD BE LOCKED UP FOR A SIZEABLE NUMBER OF YEARS BEFORE CONSIDERATION FOR PARDON. BUT ALL ASSESTS AND BENEFITS SHOULD NOW BE SEIZED. MWANYANYA KUTI DOBA

  107. THIS IS DEFINITELY ENOUGH TO INCITE A WAR IN ZAMBIA. DO NOT DARE PARDON HIM WITHOUT TRIAL. MY TEMPER HAS FLARED UP ON THIS SUGGESTION.I AM SURE THERE ARE MANY MORE OUT THERE WHO ARE REALLY ANGERED BY THE SUGGESTION. DO NOT TRIVIALISE OUR HUMANITY

  108. there are leaders who have done evil to zambia.Namely KK even LPM.unfortunately Chiluba is the only exposed of these chaps. You see MMD clinging to power even when the general public doesn’t like them you should know that they are covring up for their bad activities.During the run to October election some MMD officials were telling the press(Daily mail) that wining the elections was a matter of life and death e.g Mbita, VJ and Mulongoti. They don’t want to go through what chiluba is going through.LPM took the matters too personal and thats why he died of that natural death.Chiluba must enjoy the freedom as well.let FTJ free!

  109. #156, u also, how do other people who have married other men’s wives or women’s husbands feel when they meet them? On this one you speak as if you have never seen other such cases. They are common. You should ask the question in general, its not exclusive to Chiluba?

  110. Which politician is clean? Both Sata and HH have scandals of similar nature to that of FTJ, but while FTJ was made public enemy number one by the POST, Sata’s image is being built like that of a saint.. Forgive FTJ now..

  111. let the courts vindicate ftj. in any case ftj has always said he is innocent. so unless he has secretly admitted his guilt to this chulu guy then talking about presidential pardon is meaningless in the sense that the innocent do need pardoning.

  112. This is a lot of nonsense. Prosecute him and if he is found inocent let him go. But a total pardon will be preposterous. If Rupiah does adhere to this the for sure he would have proven to us as a nation that he has always been the corupt individual that he was made out to be through out the campaign period. If this is so we will definately have him out come the end of the three years

  113. for anyone interested in meaningful and progressive debate visit ONE WORD the citizens democratic party “dot” com. Very educative site which also engages debate different from LT. Only visit if you are tryuly concerned for Zambia.

  114. I thought the issue of “pardoning” can only be discussed AFTER immediate admisson of guilt and/or after the due process of the law has been followed; and the courts have pronounced punishment. Zambia should first see Chiluba in a kayili uniform for us to even consider pardoning. Too many innocent ppl sit in prison today for us to treat a common thief like FTJ like a king. I don’t hate Chiluba but God knows the man takes some serious blame for Zambia’s demise.

  115. Bwa-Cha-# 165 I just saw the site you’re advertising. I’ve ignored it for a while but today I’ve heard too much about it. Who are they? Or are you one of them masquerading here- advertising on their behalf. I agree that their agenda is the most polished I’ve seen on Zambian issues. How do I get to thir forum?

  116. # 169-LOL- no I am not one of them- just a supporter of what they are doing. Anyway go to the main site, on the left side there is Citizens Views and click on that.

  117. Its pointless to continue with da case as doing so wont yield any positive results. Let da Man be Pardoned ok! Da whole thing is a serious drain- lets just think of da poor Villager in Chama rural who needs clean water.

  118. WTF did you expect? Any man that allows somebody like FTJ to campaign for him is bound to be indebted to Mr Short Stuff. See where you’ve gotten yourselves?

RB is indebted to both KK and FTJ. Some president we have!

  119. Da Man has suffered enough, let him be PARDONED otherwise we will keep on spending more than what we are extracting from him. Lets leave everything in da hands of GOD.

  120. What about Francis Kaunda and the rest that have been imprisoned? What message is the Z’ Judicial system sending? Like, in animal farm…’all animals are equal but others are more equal than others.’
    TRUE…TRUE INDEED!!

  121. Pardon is not the word for bashikulu (fondly called in some tidyenao circles).RB needs to address this legal cost issue. Scrap the task force and let ACC handle all these issues. You have no reason to be vindictive, the man made mistakes but the nation needs to move-on. But if RB has no specific developmental objectives in the next 36 months, then the Chiluba issue can be used again to shift people’s attention from real issues.

  122. This is the same Chiluba who changed the law to make car theft unbailable just to fix Mctriboy who later on died as a result of the imprisonment. Why should he be pardoned?

  123. Either Chulu is not normal or is being sponsored by Chiluba. So Chulu can forgive a man who is caught sleeping with his (Chulu’s) wife?

  124. We have even stopped stealing vehicles because of Chiluba .so A Banda repeal that law to enable us start the trade we know.( car theft)

  125. If we pardon chiliba then lets pardon others we have put in jail. Justice must prevail and chiluba must be tried until proven not quilt. If he pleads quilt then he should server the sentence. If he i snot quilty as he claims to be, there is nothin to pardon him for!!

  126. visi the site “the citizens democratic party-dot-com” Visit is and see a different party. We need new type of politics. I have been converted to them knowing Zambia deserves better. See for yourself. No other website can compare to the rich educative info they have. Stop supporting recycled politicians.

  127. visit the site “the citizens democratic party-dot-com” Visit this site and see a DIFFERENT party. We need a NEW type of politics. I have been converted to them knowing Zambians deserve better. See for yourself. No other website can compare to the rich educative info they have. Stop supporting recycled politicians who have been making promises for 17 years with no change in our country. I have been moved to advertise this site.

  128. Maestro, why are you saying that now you believe Sata can be President? After calling him undereducated.dont want say much today.

  129. We dont want to make FTJ the subject of the formular for MMD governance , let them decide as soon as posible and not coninue wasting our scarce resources.

  130. Chulu,Christian or not, Justice is Justice. Even in Heaven theres justice my man. You sin and your b***s get squeezed. Remember we are setting a standard here for all future leaders. Abashshshshsh immoral sympathizers like you….

  131. this is sickening, some pipo are just too narrow minded.how do yu pardon somebody b4 he is found guilt?are yu trying to say that FTJ’s already guilt when he has said he is ready to defend himself?there is no wasting money here,it’s money spent on just cause.poor pipo are serving jail sentences fo stealing a chicken or found with a ball of ganja.remember LPM challenged this FTJ man to pay back 75% of the moneys he is said to have stollen and would be pardoned, but what was FTJ’s reaction?plz let justice prevail, let him defend himself.we shall cross the bridge when we get there, good luck FTJ.

  132. i like ur comment # 187 the man say is ready to defend himself. u can not pardon sum one 4 b is guilt.let wait and see Banda watch out this may cause a lot of talk

  133. plz that so called NGO shud be investigated as to who is behind it.its shameful to the legacy of our just passed beloved LPM who stood fo justice fo all regardless of one’s status in the country.my heart bleeds when i read such articles possibly done by selfish pipo who are just able to do anything fo their own selfish desires.God will judge them squarely.think of millions of children who have died because of corruption, think of the maternal mortality bcose of corruption, think of the state of rural schools where pupils sit on the floor bcose of coruuption, think of the difficulties our rural pipo go thru to access acceptable health care bcose of cporruption etc.

  134. How many people have died because of corruption? you are joking He should be punished. Uku kutumpa. the day they will pardon chiluba will riot? we will make this country ungovernable. look at hospitals, schools, roads the councils. If chiluba is pardoned this will set a presidence.

  135. From start the case was just a front to build LPMs image. Just look every other person R Sakala &co have already served jail and XC was allowed to escape. What a charade

  136. Fellow Zedians, Lets’s not tolarate this nonsense! Let them try and will burn the whole nation. Starting with their homes. This aint no joke.

  137. who ever is pushing for this should stop wasting his/her time.No one is above the law.The law says innocent until proven guilty-so why pardon someone who denies any wrong doings. They are so many reformed prisoners wasting away in chimbwakaila who deserve to be pardoned not some ex-presido who goes for review whenever court case comes up.By the way he has’nt gone for review ever scince LPM died

  138. Ladies and gentlemen, how do you forgive a thief??? If RB should forgive Thief Chiluba, the he should forgive all prisoners who have atleast saved some sentence. How do u forgive someone who has never even accepted that he is a thief. Zambia nomba yapwa. Its who you know to survive.

  139. Firstly, why are people uptight about someone saying they are number 1? Amazing really. Secondly, pardon my a@#, this man plundered the economy shamelessly, 7 years confinement my foot! he treks in and out of SA like its going out of fashion. Were do we draw the line and make people own up to their sins, please God, this man has to pay!

  140. when u we said rb’s group is up to no gud,we were called names on LT,This is just the begining, more cases are going to be dropped.expect saviour and the rest to walk free by next year

  141. We knew it. thats why he was campiagning for RB in Luapula. In 2006 He was PF now he’s MMD so that RB can padon him. Takuli wanya.

  142. The moment RB pardons this chap FTJ, I swear I will do everything possible to break loose the barriers at Mwembeshi, Chimbokaila, Mukobeko etc EVEN IF IT MEANS TAKING LIVES. After all, at the end of it all my cousins will form an NGO and will seek for my PARDON from the Head of State and for sure I will be set free (especially that in my case I will CONFESS to the charges).

  143. do we have some lawyers on this blog? plz guide us,isn’t this NGO being “prejuditial” or rather why shu they not be sited fo contempt in that by implication they have said FTJ is guit of the case still in court? plz help our learned collegues.

  144. we told you mwe bantu, vote for RB and you will pay. First Mealie Meal has gone up, now thieves will be free. RB is simply undoing what LPM did.Crooks like katele, chiluba etc are smiling thanx to RB. We have sold our own country, very soon this country will be a teze bantu, the worst is yet to come

  145. ala!confinement?in kabulonga, on servall road?come on people. what I would give to be confined on servall road. anyway, he is not under house arrest, nor has he been banned from moving around zambia.get a grip chulu, its jokers like you who would have us pardon killers on death row. and just because Zambia has been declared a Christian nation, does NOT all Christians make.

  146. Kelvin Chulu who are you and do you know what Chiluba and his clonies did to poor Zambians. Do you know that we are in this situation as a country because of that evil man and his i dont care attitude towards the responsibilities zambians entrusted in him. we had so much faith in him and please Chulu let him face the law.

  147. A sensitive issue for RB…..court cases are better disposed off bt the courts themselves regardless of the presidential prerogative.Levy understood this very well.matters of costs are vital but what chulu and others should do is lobby that the courts dispose off the cases in good time……there is need for a time limit….maybe thats where RB can come in.
Remember…no everyone is innocent until guilty is proven.
    The case goes on….

  148. Hi Zambians, indeed Mr. Chiluba has indured alot of punishment and deserved been pardoned unconditionally by R.B using powers given to him by the consititution. Zambia come on we know you can do it, let the man be freed and enjoy his life.

  149. Yes let them just pardon him beaause this case is just wasting our money, this chap wont be convicted, there is no case which can take more than 7 years. Thus why i really feel sorry for Richard sakala cause he is not the only one who store in Zed. nangu tuluse nangu tuwine ifwe ni sata mpaka fwe mumanda.

  150. In a christian context you can only forgive someone who has admited and asked for forgiveness, but has chiluba done that? If he needs to be pardoned let him adress the nation and apologise we are ready to do that, chiluba didnt steal from Banda but from the country. i think kelvin chulu is not educated

  151. THATS IT,IF ZAMBIA IS A REAL CHRISTIAN NATION,LET HER FORGIVE CHILUBA,WE ALL NEED FORGIVENESS WETHA WE KNOW IT OR NOT! JESUS SAID TO THE PIPO WHO BROT A WOMAN CAUGHT REDHANDED IN ADULTERY THAT,IF YOU THINK UR CLEAN/PERFECT BE THE FIRST ONE TO STONE THIS WOMAN!I THERE FORE SECOND THAT IDEA OF FORGIVING FTJ,WETHA HE DID NOT CONFESS ABOUT OF THE RESOURCES THAT WERE EMBEZZELED OR NOT!

  152. Bayamba ba suntwe aba, these types of groups were the first ones to say yes to third term. Ala, this is the danger of democracy and freedom, everybody now thinks they are free to say anything they feel like.

  153. This should be a stark warming to whoever will even think about pardoning the thief. From what has being written on this article; looking at the names of contributers PF, UPND and MMDs ones are against forgiving this guy. This means that the country is united on this issue for the first time. Therefore, beware on this subject, FTJ is a VERY VERY BAD man.

  154. other questions guys,if FTJ is pardoned, what will happen to the co-acused katele, kabwe and uyu fimofimo? are we going to see katele being pardoned next bcose he is honerable mp and mmd national secretary? are we going to see regina being pardoned bcose she is the wife of the ex presido? Hmmmm! but iyi ni matrix zoona, kaya ba shikulu ba bwezani tizaonako.we are monitoring and surely posterity will judge us.

  155. Indeed Chiluba deserves being set free please people he’s seen enough punishment. The Bible teaches us about forgiveness, so let’s do like wise for the benefit of our beloved ex president.”Chaona munzako chapita, mawa chili pali iwe”. This teels us that, what ever pain we inflict on others later will be reciprocated on us.

  156. zambians! Pardoning Chiluba would be a noble thing but not without consequences. 1.You cannot pardon someone unless someone is guilty. So far Chiluba has said he is not guilty. Let him first ask fogiveness from Zambians publicly.
    2. Pardoning Chiluba, is a defeat of the fight against Corruption. So far we are not the right track. But reversing that would be bad. The celebrated mentality in Zambia is to make it to the top no matter what means. “It is not about what you know, it is about what you can prove” everyone will be stealing and thieving until kingdom come, just making sure they cover their tracks. Let Chiluba be exonerated by the Courts of Law until he asks forgivenes

  157. # 40 – good cooment about the Media and NGOs. Media gives voice to anyone with teeth in the mouth and new NGOs are formed these days for a narrow political fixing agenda. This is the reason most NGOs and Media are in problems in ZIM.

  158. IT IS REALLY TRUE THAT THE GOVERNMENT IS SPENDING ALOT OF MONIES ON CHILUBA’S CASE, HENCE THE NEED TO CLOSE THE CASE, NOT PARDON BECAUSE IS NOT SENTENCED YET, FOR THE SAKE OF DEVELOPMENT OF MOTHER ZAMBIA. THE PROLONGED TRIAL IS JUSTICE DELAYED WHICH IS JUSTICE DENIED. IT IS NOT ABOUT BEING EDUCATED, WE SHOULD LOOK AT THE NATION NOT A MERE PERSON.

    GOD BLESS

  159. Yes I agree Chiluba should be forgiven. God will not heal this land if we dont learn to forgive each other. There is so much tension and hatred for one another not until will learn to love and forgive this country is going to down the drain. The man FTJ has suffered enough let him go free who has never comitted any sin in this world. Sin is sin so matter how little it is if your sins can be forgiven what about the FTJ.

  160. First real test for RB…Can he really fit in LM’s shoes?..or are they too big for him..lets wait and see how he handles this one..it may just make or break his career!

  161. Indonesia has killed the suicide bombing planners of the Bali bombing which took place in 2002, what are we still waiting for, this chap is guilty let us get rid of him once and for all.

  162. Just forgive. But the law should be stiff to all plunders even those who supported the third term bid plundered with him. Some people stealing is in their blood and inherited from their forefathers anyway.

    Lets forgive and forget.its bibilical.

  163. those of yu trying to bring religion here,do not confuse forgiveness and justice.God in His justice will throw sinners in Hell and share iternity with the upright, yet we are told that in His unmeaqsurable love for humanity He is ready to forgive of all our sins only if we confess our sins and seek for the forgiveness.letting justice to prevail on FTJ’s case shud not be seen as being unchristian nor being viewed as a share waste of resources, nononononono!plz do not confuse us on Biblical terms.if so then let’s do away with our courts so that all law breakers can seek forgiveness and bingo we mingle in our streets.Hmmm!kulibe, takwaba, kulije, zwaa!!!!!

  164. Ka Chulu must have been oiled. Why start this topic when the price of mealie meal is up.There are more seriuos issues for RB to tackle than start pardoning people.Chiluba MUST wait until AFRICA FREEDOM DAY next year may be he can be considered to be pardoned if he shows remorsifulness.

  165. ANNOUNCEMENT

#139 and 142 is not the original Abantu Baya you know.

Hey #139 and 142, come up with your own name/ID. It will be best to change it now. I hope it was an honest mistake.

  166. Plunder is still continuing to date. The problem with Chiluba’s case is that it was persued with hate and vengence by certain people who did not enjoy with FTJ. Plunder and corruption in LPM’s era even worsened.
Only certain individuals were sighted for corruption.
Why do we still have certain old and finished civil servants still working in govt? Look at the police, army, airforce, deplomatic missions. They are full of people who should be retired and back on contracts.
Younger people cant be promoted because old retirees have refused to retire. \All that is corruption.
No wonder people did not want MMD in town.

  167. Confess and your sins shall be forgiven,if not you will die in your sins.No comfession no forviness, simple.Let justice prevail because no one is above the law.The raeson Zambia has spent so much on the Chiluba case is because of the illegal “Task Force on Corruption”,the duties perfomed by this body could have been done by ACC.Viva Sata Pabwatooooooooooooo!

  168. let them pardon him,if we say this N.S man is corrupt, you start orbjecting, he is going to dig his own grave. Moreover even chibwakaila guys should be pardoned.let the courts deal with him what are you fearing, may be you are involved let us know.Twachula pafula.

  169. my view about this article is that maybe it is meant to test our mood before the pardon. the support and endorsement during the campaign is being rewarded? Chiluba has suffered yes but if he is guilty then poor people have suffered more. Solution is speedup the trial for everyones sake.

  170. We accept that FTJ is a thief but this case is taking too long hence the need to pardon the guy cause they are just wasting tax payers money.A boatiful person will never rule Zed,we need a person who talks about issues and not boasting about having money and being educated. Its not possible for everyone to be educated because of unequal playing ground. i for one im ready to vote for anyone even a kaponya so long as that person has wisdom and not necessarily education or money. Zambia shall be saved one day if we all believe like the way americans have done.GOD bless ZED

  171. A forgiven person can still face the consequences of his actions. The positive thing about this situation is that the offender is at peace with himself, with God and with everyone as he goes through what he brought on himself. Yes let us forgive Chiluba, but removing the consequences of his actions is not justice.

  172. Goodmorning, we saw this coming, that is why we have been skeptical of RB’s Charlatans….Chuulu is the small voice of what is being said by the big fish….you can not lie to us!!!

  173. Let him be pardoned but he has to face consequences of His actions and deeds…they can forgive each other in their corners…but this man has to be subjected to a trial…

  174. Ladies and Gentlemen,we should be aware thats fighting crime is not cheap. But ,however the cost crime has to be fought otherwise there will anarthy in our communities. We all know that a alot of money has been spent but this need to serve as an example to all those in government including RB that stealing and Corruption expecially tax payers money is punishable.

One day the law will catch up with you even after 10 years

  175. I respect FTJ more than i respect Kaunda and LPM (mhsrip). FTJ did alot for Zambia but we trusted him so much such that he become big headed and stated plundering. Let them forgive him because came what may FTJ will never be jailed. they are just wasting money, lets focus on other issues and not FTJ cause this case is just wasting our time to develop Zed.

  176. There is no justice if you bring in favours. Pardon FTJ because of 7years in Kabulonga? Iwe chulu, careful! You must be a beneficiary to the plunder too.

Why not ask the courts to speed up the process rather than pardon someone that hasn’t even confessed to the plunder.

FTJ’s cases should be discharged before February 2009 then we get the verdict and judgement without favours. Maybe after saving 29 years mu chimbokaila then he (FTJ) should be pardoned (but only if he behaves well while in jail). For arguments’ sake, why not ask for pardon of all those on death row? FTJ did more damage than good to this nation. LET HIM BE ACOUNTABLE.

    LET JUSTICE PREVAIL

  177. This Mr Chulu, I dont know whether to laugh or cry. You say the country is spending money on prosecuting Chiluba. Where on earth has he seen police or prosecution making a profit? The profits come in form of justice and straightening the moral fibre.
Let the due process take its toll and acquit him or convict him

  178. FORGIVE FORGIVE,ZAMBIANS ASKED TO FORGIVE,ALL OF YOU READING THIS NOW,NEEDS FORGIVENESS FROM THE OLD MAN ABOVE! LETS FORGIVE FOR WE NEED FORGIVENESS OURSELVES!

  179. FORGIVE FORGIVE,ZAMBIANS ASKED TO FORGIVE,ALL OF YOU READING THIS NOW,NEEDS FORGIVENESS FROM THE OLD MAN ABOVE! LETS FORGIVE FOR WE NEED FORGIVENESS OURSELVES!

  180. FORGIVE FORGIVE,ZAMBIANS ASKED TO FORGIVE,ALL OF YOU READING THIS NOW,NEEDS FORGIVENESS FROM THE OLD MAN ABOVE! LETS FORGIVE FOR WE NEED FORGIVENESS OURSELVES!

  181. Letting FTJ go free without paying for his crimes against the the people of Zambia will be very sad, because he does not know that Justice is conscience, not a personal conscience but the conscience of the whole of humanity. Those who clearly recognize the voice of their own conscience usually recognize also the voice of justice…

  182. Am commenting on the issue of the second republican president i think he as go through a lot from the time he left office and its high time the president should do something about it

  183. Forginess only comes after confession and apology. Pardon comes after conviction. Mr Chiluba has not apologised so the law should take its course. The government should only speed up the process since this is a special case it should be given special hearing to quickly meet the ends of justice. However if convicted and jailed I would still advocate for the presidential pardon as it will serve as a lesson but it is still a special case and the first of the kind. Lets not be personal but look at issues realistically. We are a young democracy and we are still learning.

  184. # 243.gabriel!

Whatever it is that you love about FTJ, that is your business and don’t let that mess your view on this issue, already your objectivity is compromised there….you are talking about development, you think this country will ever develop when corruption lurks on every corner, which was perpetuated by your HERO! What money is been wasted?! if that money is going to be wasted to apprehend a thief of all times then let it be, don’t lead people on this blog to think the so called “money to be wasted”, will be used for development, by which government the RB one?!! in your DREAMS my friend!!!

  185. 248. NON PARTISAN

Know one thing my friend, some of us forgave Chiluba along time ago, unless you are confusing feeling sorry for him with forgiveness, which is a bit swallow if you ask me…because you are basing your reasoning on a subjective part of your being (FEELINGS). Who are we to hold a grudge? Some of us are too lazy to do so…and we would not like someone to narrow our spirit’s freedom by hating them…What I am saying my dear friend is JUSTICE has to take place, let him be subjected to that system like any other accused.PERIOD!

  186. This is not acceptable. What kind of justice can there possibly be in Zambia????…..shame shame shame….the world is laughing at us!

  187. there’s nothing like forgiving,a lot has been spent already, this man was asked by late patrick mwanawasa to apologise to the nation,he refused,he shud go to prison just like richard sakala.he did more harm to this nation,am going to walk to to state hse alone if hes not arrested

  188. I think forgiving Chiluba will declare Mutembo Nchito bankcrupt so im sure Nchito will fight tooth and nail to make sure that the case goes on for another 7 years

  189. PLEASE WE HAVE PEOPLE IN ZAMBIAN JAILS, WHO NEED FREEDOM AS WELL IF U PARDON THIS GUY, REMEMBER TO PARDONING THOSE IN JAIL’S AS WELL

  190. For those of you saying this man has suffered enough, what suffering….going to and from the court? being flown to SA for medical treatment when thousands of our people are dying everyday because of lack of medicine and equipment in Hospitals to treat even simple things like IMPEELE!! What suffering when he is been accommodated and driven like a King, yet our people are struggling to even raise a 3pin 1 for a bus fare…

The masses are the ones suffering not ba former PRESIDENT, so don’t say he is suffering please!!!

  191. We saw it coming long before you a chulu said anything, and how much have you been paid to say that FTJ must be pardoned??????
Pa Z. is full of comedy politicians are always taking us for rides and round in circles. just when you thought we were moving forwards another full comes and is tryiong to takes back to 1964. The Bible says that a man shall reap what he planted. Its not yet harvest time for chiluba let him pay back. the masses are sufering while he still drives around in his pajeros!!!!!!!!!!

  192. there alot more of us suffering at the hands of our greddy so called learders and some are in govt rite now,ie katele kalumba, its becoz of him and his poor governance that most of us are suffering rite now.while shud he go scot free wen we still nursing the wounds of retrenchment that were inflicted on our parents, justice shud prevail, takuli nakana ine along with my poor zambians who knw wat this man did.say no plizz

  193. Its the stupidness of us Zambians to vote RB into power so we wanted it.Of all the things to be corrected in Zambia all RB saw was Chiluba’s pardon, is this the MWANAWASA vision he promised to fulfill?

  194. Forgiving him for a crime he has not admitted committing, that is a joke! Let justice prevail. I agree with someone who suggested that a separate court should be created to deal with cases such as his in order to save tax payers’ money. If he is forgiven at this point for Chulu knows what, let’s open up all the prisons and forgive everyone else then, they are also part of the Christian nation.

  195. #260,264.

Guyz are aware that the only person benefiting from the same case iz Mutembo and not the masses? So it makes sense to stop this case coz its going nowhere specially that LPM MSHRIP iz no longer there or we change the lawyers.

  196. I always told my friends that these corruption cases were just a fallace, after all this time now we shud 4 give chiluba, after making the Nchito brothers stincking rich,if it has 2b done then get all the monies from the Nchitos and close the case otherwise speedup the process so that we forget about this midget.

  197. Mr chulu your resoning is miscalculated and misleading…….JESUS CHRIST WOULD ONLY FORGIVE U IF YOU CONFESS THAT YOUR ARE A SINNER….AS FAR AS CHILUBA IS CONCERNED HE DID NO CRIMES AT ALL SO PARDON FOR WHAT????????……… HE IS NOW A SO CALLED BORN AGAIN….SO LET HIM ACCEPT THAT HE PLUNDERED THE RESOURCES AT THE EXP OF OUR HARD EARNED TAX MONEY MEANT TO PAY OUR GUD TEACHERS AND DOCTORS AND TO SAY THE LEAST THE VILLAGE CHICKEN SUBSIDIES…… HE MUST COME OUT IN OPEN TO TELL THE NATION THE TRUTH THEM WE CAN CONVICT HIM AND THERE AFTER PARDON HIM…… IS THAT CLEAR MR ?????

  198. ANOTHER THING RB HAS NO POWERS TO PARDON THIS MAN OUTSIDE PRISON…..the case is b/n the tax payers and him not RB…. RB DOES NOT PAY ANY TAX… what appears on his pay slip is just pseudo….it is us at the bottom of the FOOD CHAIN that comopesate his tax….

THESE GUYS ARE MASTERS AND NOT SERVANTS…THAT IS WHY THEY ARE TODAY ARROGANTto us….. a sensible reader would slice the ministerial positions to half and reduce tax and gvt spending on un necess luxurious pajelos etc…

  199. Guys it is a curtail…this is WHAT LAWYERS DO.. BOTH SIDES ARE DELAYING THIS CASE SO THAT THEY COULD BENEFIT…. 7 YRS IS FAR TOO LONG………IT IS A SHAME TO THE jUDICIARY AS WELL…IT LOOKS LIKE THEY ARE ALL IN THS FOOD CHAIN…IT IS A VICIOUS CIRCLE…..ASK DR KAUNDA HE KNOWS HOW IT WORKS AM SURE UNDER HIM HE COULD HAVE CLOSED THIS CASE WITHIN MONTHS…….

  200. #270 YES WE GO FOR IT… WILL CALL THIS COURT THE ”PIPOS VS PLUNDERES COURT” all cases involving public money would be dealt with in this court at a high velocity…. all other cases can be dealt as normal in other courts… this one will be special for public servants/masters at the TOP of the FOOOD CHAIN……

WE WILL LOBBY FOR THIS WHEN I BECOME PRESIDENT IN 2011… PLS VOTE FOR ME THIS TIME OK…..

  201. ”TIME WILL TELL” —-BOB MARLEY

JAMES HARDLY CHASE SAID ”IT IS A MATTER OF TIME”

”TIME BOMB” by street kid manda hill

”everything has time” BY GOD–Ecless-the Bible

Mr TENTA— NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES……???????????

  202. Where we are going now looking at the way things are twalalya bana fweba shikwete abana twalafwa nensala cos already all those promises have already turned upside down RB comfortable as he is has already forgotten his promises

  203. No NO NO, why should the big fish be pardoned when when the smaller fish who were looting under his authority have served their jail senteces? e.g Richard Sakala

  204. #183, Chewe, just look at the flag for I the real Maestro Hhehhehhehhe is in the EU. In fact, I do not make mistakes easily like that imposter character has done. On the undereducated leader of his political party, I still maintain my standpoint.

  205. If whites in America have decided to opt for a change a black president for that matter why cant we. does it mean that we are so sleepy that we cant even see something which is on our nose. Ala bane LESA apalamikila fye ngata ubulile lobe.

  206. The president can only pardon someone who has been convicted, so let the due process of the law be exhausted. Fighting corruption is expensive. I personally dont care if we have spent more than we have recovered but we have to stick to the principle of prosecuting thieves and securing convictions whatever the cost. This sets a precedence of how we deal with such characters. We should also take into consideration the potential of dettering other crooks from taking the plunder root as they will know what happens to thieves !

  207. This guy is being used as a pawn. I think the decision has already been arrived at. Instead of pardoning Chiluba, why not free those guys who have been imprisoned for small crimes like riotous behaviour, unlawful assembly, public disorder…something like that…

  208. A number of you who correctly point out that the 2nd rep. president can only be pardoned if he is convicted. I wish to add that the pardoning will mean “plunder” to those who are waiting to plunder in the current governement. 3 years of plunder.
Talk about Zambia being a Christian Nation. Please read the story of Zaccheus the Tax collector. Luke 19: 8 reads “Look Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone….. ” What is Christianity?
The man was 2nd rep. president and whatever he did for the nation was his job description. Please don’t say he did this and this for Zambia. He was being paid. No wonder we are called docile people, even by plunderers.

  209. there’s this thing in life where one is held accountable for one’s actions, and i’m sorry, but Chiluba has got to answer to the nation for all his crimes. You do the crime, be ready to do the time, Christian nation or no…

  210. in zambia the people’s voice can never be heard or listened to,with such stories am seeing this man walking free again,we wont even realise hw its going to be done.it will be done in a such way that they will allow him to move freely all over the world,a few cases will eventually be dropped citing to no evidence.even the court wil suspend the enitire case

  211. some of yu guys seem to blinded by the fact that the case has taken too long, its not true entirely.its normal for high profiled cases to take this long, even in the Hague, certain cases take yrs to conclude.we’re not going to injure justice just bcose of time nor the perceived waste of resources.records are there for us all to refer to,task force has recovered so many infrastructure besides hard cash from plunderers.why play double standards? only yesterday we all sang songs of praise fo late LPM fo good job done in this regard that in long term made zed gain its international recognition.now one feels somehow proud to be zambian than 10yrs ago, why?do not get entangled into the web of liars

  212. Apa pene baisa Ba Banda na ama Pardon yaisa!Wake up Zambians, the money FTJ plundered will NEVER be restored to us, so he has to pay in some way,by sitting in SECLUSION for a while.People are suffering in Zambia because of politicians who only aim at enriching themselves when they are in office while the people who put them there STARVE!Immoral!

  213. Chulu – I think this man is so shallow in his thinking – very myopic in understadning forgiveness. This short thief has never apologised to the Zambian pipo so what forgiveness? We should never allow a criminal to walk freely in our communities – Kafupi belongs to the jail. There is just too much torelance and if Banda goes ahead to release him then the law will visist him as well, come 2011.

  214. some of yu have this personal attacks on the nchito brothers,Hmmm what a myopic approach!!,the guys are good lawyers and surely they’ve saved our country well.read some of cases they’ve handled while in task force, they deserve the allowances they get for putting in so much into these cases.”cheap things are dangerous” it is said.if yu’re a qualified professional,yu’ll reliarise that yu are highly rewarded fo yo services be it fo lawyers, engineers, economists, doctors, etc.plz do not attach nchito and the team,if yu cannot bit them, join them.ask image builders, they will tell yu how much the’re paid per contract, hahahahahahahaha!!

  215. How on earth do you pardon somebody who has insisted that he did not commit any offence? Either Mr Chiluba owns up to the offences he is alleged to have committed and ask for forginess or he should prove his innocence in the courts of law.

  216. #295 KingCobra – what are trying to say – you need to contribute something not just wasting space – read the subject first – U confused!

  217. Zed is a contry of Laws not men as LPM used to say. That ka FTJ does not deserve any pardon when our contry men are suffering like that. He has been on campaign trail. Jaillllllllllllllllllllllll

  218. Let them hang the short man. My brother died because the doctors were on strike. Titus was busy plundering the money instead of paying doctors. He should spend sometime at mukobeko before they hang him.

  219. Haa, was that a pact between Nyama Soya and Kafupi during the compaign!!? The reason Kafupi went to campaign for Nyama Soya in his village?…Chrisrian trives for justice. Let kafupi bring back the money and Zambians will pardon him, if not pardon all prisoners, all court cases and start all over again.
CRIME IS A CRIME, WHETHER CHRISTIAN ON NOT.
MR. Chulu is this what Nyama Soya(Sugar Daddy) told you to start this?

  220. YABA! THIS CHULU MUST BE A VERY CONFUSED CHAP!
IF BANDA HAS TO 4GIVE THIEF CHILUBA BECAUSE ZAMBIA IS A CHRISTIAN NATION, HE IS SUGGESTING THAT BANDA SHOULD INFACT RELEASE ALL CONVICTED PRISONERS REGARDLESS OF THE OFFENCES THEY COMMITED, MY FOOT!!!
AND HOW DOES SOMEONE ASK FOR FORGIVENESS BEFORE THEY ARE CONVINCTED? IS THIS AN ADMISSION OF GUILT? LOOKS LIKE THIS KA MAN KA CHULU HAS JUST BEEN PAID BY KAFUPI OR BANDA TO START THIS DIRTY CAMPAIGN….

  221. Forgive CHILUBA. What are we forgiving him for? We must have ten good reasons y we should forgive him. Chiluba is a thief [Mama Nawakwi said it]. That man must be put in bars. Ba tata ba KAUNDA did not do anything wrong, but he went on and put him kumukobeko. Its not fair kulibeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ba chiluba.

  222. if u want to save money jail him. if u want to pardon him, the all chimbokaila should b pardond. some of those guys in chimbokaila are there because of chiluba

  223. It is impossible to pardon Chiluba at the moment.
    Pardon Chiluba for doing what?
He has not admitted to any wrong.
You dont pardon anyone from being accused.
He needs to be either convicted or aquited by the courts of law on the many accusations, all of which he has denied.
How can someone be a leader of an organisation with such level of thinking? This is why you have a lot of noise in the nation but very little action. This is because most of the noise is disorganised.

  224. THE AUTHORITY TO PUNISH CRIMINALS IS GIVEN BY GOD TO THE STATE. ‘THE MAGISTRATE WEALDS THE SWORD NOT FOR NOTHING.’ THE POWERS THAT BE ARE ORDAINED BY GOD. WE SHOULD NOT CONFOUND SIN WITH CRIMINALITY. THE TWO DO NOT ALWAYS GO TOGETHER ALTHOUGH IDEALLY THEY SHOULD. CRIMINALITY IS BREAKING HUMAN GOVT LAWS BUT SIN IS TRANSGRESSION AGAINST GOD’S LAW. STEALING IS BOTH SINFUL AND CRIMINAL, BUT FROM GOD’S POINT OF VIEW, JESUS DIED FOR THE THIEF SO HE WILL NOT BE PUNISHED IF HE ACCEPTS THE SUBSTITUTION. BUT THE STATE HAS TO PUNISH THE THIEF BECAUSE THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTION AND FAILING THAT IS UNJUST. FOR GOD TO BE JUST, HE MUST PUNISH THE SINNER, BUT A SUBSTITUTE, SETS YOU FREE.

  225. FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE HANDED OVER HIS ONE UNIQUE SON SO THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES THAT HE TOOK HIS PLACE, SHOULD NOT BE CONDEMNED BUT SHOULD BE SET FREE. GOD SAID THAT THE SOUL THAT SINNED IT SHALL SURELY DIE. SO SOMEONE HAS TO DIE. AS IT WAS ON THAT FATEFUL NIGHT IN PONTIUS PILATUS COURT, JESUS OR BARABBAS, SO IT IS TODAY IN HEAVEN’S COURT: JESUS OR YOU. THE CHOICE IS YOURS.

  226. Ridiculous but not totally unexpected in a country like Zambia. To think this is even debatable is insane.

What happened to due process and the fight against corruption? No wonder we are called “peacefull” although i prefer the term docile and dull.

  227. FOR TEMPORAL PUNISHMENT BY THE STATE, THERE IS NO REPRIEVE. BUT FOR ETERNAL PUNISHMENT BY GOD, A RANSOM HAS BEEN FOUND AND MR CHILUBA AND ALL OF US BORN OF WOMAN, BORN UNDER THE SUN, MUST APPLY FOR THE SUBSTITUTION. BECAUSE JESUS DIED, GOD’S MERCY IS AVAILABLE TO CLOSE THE DOOR TO WHAT PUNISHMENT WE DESERVED AND BECAUSE GOD APPROVED OF THAT DEATH AND RAISED JESUS FROM THE DEAD, HIS GRACE IS AVAILABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR TO THE BLESSINGS WE NEVER DESERVED. OH! HOW SHALL WE ESCAPE IF WE NEGLECT SUCH A GREAT SALVATION?

  228. To some extent this pardon would make sense as 7 years is a long time & in that time Chiluba has not really been a free man but the govt needs to make it clear how much assets have been recovered from Chiluba & explain what will happen to the rest of them not yet confirmed as his.I know for sure Mwanawasa sent some intelligence officers to come & prove that indeed Chiluba had lots of assets in the UK bought from tax payers money, there were reports from some of the officers that Chiluba had several houses on one UK street.

  229. Chiluba is innocent until proven guilty. The man has got nothing to say sorry for.You people who are saying is a thief you have a small brain and don’t know politics.Give the man the respect he deserves,is a legend.

  230. Chiluba, Mwanawasa, RB, VJ, Katele, Silwamba, the Chitos and The Post know that their little game will be over in 3 years and are now panicking. These chaps are together, what is going on is continuation of Chiluba’s rule through proxies hence the riggings. The Chitos are Chiluba’s boys, they are his fronts in Zambia Airways and were Lawyers to Moses Katubi. To make the Zambian treasury porous, Chiluba gave Mwanawasa names of key civil servant that they wanted out to facilitate their looting, that is why only civil servants and not politicians were targeted by Mwanawasa. RB should by now be bringing out Mwanawasa’s mess, but he is busy covering up. He will not succeed

  231. my fellow sons and daughters…please forgive me..i was once your father and you…my children….let he who has not sinned cast the first stone….

  232. Let this NGO fight for the forgiveness of all those who languishing in the Zambian jails and not one person if they are being truthful in what they stand for. In Today’s Post, it has been reported that “Faustin Kabwe revealed that he paid his children’s school fees and his wife’s expenses out of the account which was holding government money..” This is one of those who are being tried for plunder, the guy says he was also keeping his money in the Zamtrop account but cannot produce evidence to confirm this? Now are these the kind of people RB would want to forgive? if Chiluba wants forgiveness, he must forfeit what goes with a retiring Presido full stop.

  233. This so called “The movement for moral rearmament” should go to hell, what the heck is going on in Zambia? If chiluba has to be pardoned then everybody in his regime needs to be forgiven and all the jail terms passed on thugs need to be reversed,I don’t trust RB anyway, protect the poor for God’s sake.

  234. Ha Ha Ha Ha!! I knew it. Remember how Chiluba was smiling during Rupiah’s inauguration ceremony? Only free people smile like that! Just go ahead and stop playing hide and seek anymore. Twanaka nenu bakelenka

  235. What is wrong with you people? Where is your love as a nation? This is your opportunity to forgive someone who has wronged you. The bible tells us to learn to forgive our enemies, because forgiving a friend even the devils can do. As long as I remain the chairperson of Movement for Moral Rearmament, I will ensure that the honorable President Rupiah Banda forgives Dr Chiluba, whether you like it or not. Almost all of you writing here only write and cannot put into action what you write but I can write and take action. Zambia is Christian nation, which should uphold the tenets of Christianity by forgiving and loving one another. Dr Chiluba has suffered enough the past seven years, which he has

  236. @ Chulu
Christian nation? so Christian that we should set a precedent of pardonning corrupt leaders therby creating a environment where polticians can rob us blind yet be forgiven because it is the christian thing to do? That would mean that we as Zambians condone this behaviour, which we do NOT and Should NOT!
So Zambia is so Christian that vote rigging and misapporopriation of government funds is now seen as the norm?

And how on God’s green earth can you see that he has suffered more than the prisoners in Mkobeko and Chiwakailia? are you seriously deluded? how can he suffer when he lives in spacious luxury, has 3 meals a day, conjugal rights and bodygurards??

  237. As Zambia we have a prolem we just what is in 1cm but not the one at 4metres. I want some to give me the correct amout of money Zambia has been spend on chiluba’s case. And these cases are still going on. If you calculate from the time these cases started up to the Time it will exposed off it will be almost the same to what Chiluba spent. We are not saying chiluba did not plunder the resources. But even these the so called antkolapushoni they are plundering the resources by prolonging the cases. If they have failed to convict him let him be free.

  238. what is this??? We’re civilised. Nobody is above the law. Leaders will take Zambians for granted. If FTJ is pardoned, then RB will also commit scandals and expect to be forgiven. Justice guys, Justice!!! Let’s give each man what his/ her conduct deserves. We can forgive FTJ but he has to face the law. Some people died coz they didn’t have access to money which was due to them- all the money was in one man’s pocket- selfish! greedy! Criminal! The law is objective and not subjective nor relative. Come on guys- what do you mean by unconditionally pardoning??? Do you mean to forsake the law???

  239. The case against FTJ should be concluded sooner, forgiveness when he has not accpeted having looted! Ulekwata amano iwe Kelvin. Did you benefit in some way? FTJ has to be prosecuted and if found guilt, be caged with his cronies. We are tired of criminals running the affairs of our country. We need sanity amongst the leaders not bamambala. Kelvin wake up and reason properly. We want others to learn from this, so your bootlicking will not go anywhere on this. Hard lucky, FTJ has to prosecuted to the end!

  240. FTJ delivered the presidency to RBB, now it’s time to cough up…we all know it is coming! Forget about kafupi being caged. More chance of nyama soya staying awake through a whole 1 hour Sunday service at your local church…

  241. You people are fascinating! Why do you talk about this little puppy called Chiluba who caused a lot of suffering amongst Zambians. The puppy or monkey does not deserve any respect from any Zambian because he was a plunderer and still harbours illusions of stealing some more. Send the puppy FTJ to Chimbokaila without any further delay. The noise you are getting from drunken PF members will no longer be there. Cage FTJ as soon as possible and Zambianise Regina. She is a property acquired using public funds. What a shame!

  242. YOU DID NOT FORGIVE YOUR FORMER W.H.Y. I.F.INSTEAD`YOU WENT AHEAD AND GRABBED ANOTHER MANS WIFE.KA POMPWEEEE IWEEEEEEEEEE.

  243. Ala bakafupi imilandu yingi kwaba nayakupokolola bamukamwine mwanza-ba legina abo abatemwa indalama ukuchila life. The woman loves money more than all zambians put together akaninapo nomulume.Kabili kuti atemwa sana if shoti is forgiven ba RB eikaba mistake No.11111111.Pls let justice prevail.apart from that it ‘ll be a big insult to all what Levy fought for.Do not disgrace yourself let the law prevail then you’ll continue to be respected.Mukakalifya bantu muleumfwafye ngamwakachita forgive akakantu.

  244. Give the nation back its money and the stu***d man will walk free. Maybe its a game, Rupiah was helped to rig and now its payback time

  245. This is unbelievable.Kafupi na Regina musana wandalama hell belongs to both of you.Hipocrits. Christian nation?????????

  246. if you read this article “Faustin Kabwe asked not to be funny” then you can see that this call is wicked, by wicked people with wicked motives! US$61,000.00 was used by Kabwe alone for his children. If you were and still have been benefiting from Kafupi’s Brown Envelope program then go ahead with this call. Zambia will never excel above the current poverty level because ‘Accountability” is a crime to many of us. Shame on all of you supporting this call. Punishing someone is not wrong, even the Bible says “God will punish the sinners!” Does that mean He does not forgive? Chiluba must CONFESS and return the money, then talk about forgiving him!!! Not until then
