Finance minister Situmbeko Musokotwane and his deputy Mulenga Kapwepwe (left) taking up seats after taking oath of office at State House

Finance Deputy Minister, Chileshe Kapwepwe almost wept when she was being sworn-in by President, Rupiah Banda, on Monday morning.

Ms. Kapwepwe later told ZNBC news that it was an emotional moment for her to be sworn in as Deputy Minister.

She said this was the same ministry where her late father, Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe served as Minister in the first Republic.

She said her father would have been very proud of her appointment because she was following in his political footsteps.

Ms. Kapwepwe also said her appointment is a political comeback for the Kapwepwe family.

Mr. Kapwepwe was a freedom fighter who helped to liberate Zambia.

He also served in various ministeries and was later appointed Vice President in 1967.

Mr. Kapwepwe in 1980 after suffering a stroke.

  1. This is the kapwepwe who was at national Airport Corporation if iam not mistaken and they did not want to renew her contract musalu walipesamba. Lelo lelo.

  2. #2 Ya what comeback is this? What is she to do now, aspire for MMD presidency? Come on lady, just enjoy the free money and cars and spare us the nonsense, its not like your family is the US Kennedy family version of Zambia. Just enjoy that appointment of appeasement by RB to just calm northerners. You are just a pone in the bigger scheme of things and RB would careless whether you delivered or not as long as he is guaranteed 2011 re-election

  3. Chileshe we know everything about you father. Emotions aside. this is more money and chances are, as long as you you say yes to everything coming from Nyama Soya, you will be full cabinet minister.

    It works in Africa.

  4. Congrats madam its on merit and I wish you all the best. May the prosperity we experienced under Magande continue and do better

  5. suppose i’ll also weep wth joy when i get appointed ambassador to the US. after all we r following in dadddy’s footsteps right? ridiculous wat Banda has going on!!!

  6. Congrats Chileshe!!! Its not your father’s name which will make you but your performance will take you places. The name just gives you an opportunity and you make it yourself. Congrats!!!!

  7. Congrats,Kapwepwe, you have all it takes(qualifications),I have ful confidence that you will deliver and meet the Zambians expectations,Humbly, receive my blessings.

  8. In zambia its about the kaundas, kapwepwes, chilubas, mwanawasas and now Bandas.People can serve the country in different capacities and not necessarily in GRZ. most of the families will remain chewing wild fruits while others will be looking like baby elephants. someone tell me what are the academic qualifications of vera and Munkombwe to guarantee them those ministerial positions? i do not know.

  9. LT this is not a story unless it is based in some facts that you have not provided here, a nominated MP does not qualify as a comeback to politics unless she has intentions of contesting a seat as MP in 2011 etc etc, let us wait and see. This story is flawed

  10. # 17 for sure I also will weep when I follow my fathers footsteps of driving the latest cars and having the latest of everything on the market. Not even Kaunda could handle my father those days.

  11. Rb and hs MMD wil stil nt get it beta in northen province,if thts wat he is tryin to get to..and yes i agre, ths issue of name prominance/worshiping is js rubbish in zed..bt hey cngrats to madam kapwepwe, hop u do a gud job as a very wel qualified accountant

  12. Happy for you as a woman and nothing to do with Name. Show us what you are made of to establish yourself. Is it rubber (Shame)or Iron (will leave a lasting impression)?

  13. How on earth do people do this, taste that a meal has a very nice apple flavour and yet condemn the wole meal as rotten. Amazing wako ni wako zoona.

  14. The qualifications issues is cardinal, but if we dwell much on it then no chance for sata, grade 4.
Let the sleeping dog lay. Then PF should start contemplating Given Lubinda as PF leader and if things goes to the worst,Dr.GUY SCOTT.
Iam been rational on this issue, period

  15. “he said her father would have been very proud of her appointment because she was following in his political footsteps.” DEAR BLOGGERS, MY SINCERE APOLOGIES, I DID NOT READ THIS STORY IN TOTALITY, I THEREFORE WISH TO RETRACT MY PREVIOUS COMMENTS, I MISSED THIS VERBATIM FROM MS KAPWEPWE HERSELF, MY APOLOGIES ONCE MORE.

  16. Yes, being a kapwepwe is one thing. what we are looking for are results. sorry but tears just dont cut it. congrats all the same

  17. chileshe kapwepwe is qualified but lets stop this habit of appointing people anyhow because of some relation with some prominent person.we will one day end up with bena castro as ministers.

  18. its too much of this name culture in Zed, soon it ll be Lubona Mwanawasa as Minister without potfolio…. then Tetamashimba’s children will be rewarded after he’s dead

  19. CK, the challenge is yours today. SMK led the way. Keep the flag of unity and prosperity of the whole nation high on your agenda. May those tears be a sign of dedication to your work and commitment our people. God bless all your work mates and Zambeziland.

  20. If this is a true political come back let her prove it by going back to Chinsali and serve the same people by standing as an MP like her father did. These are Lusaka based appointments and must not be encourtaged. Efinshi ifi ba Mpuno?

  21. @36
Also, when you succeed, make a recall for proud citizens in diaspora to come and share their earned knowledge and help develop Zed to make it a better place for us all. This is working effectively in Rwanda

  22. Multiple diplomatosis is no guarantee of political excellence. One can have all the degrees going in this world and still be a political failure ,or a homicidal kleptomaniac dictator.People do not necessarily have to be graduates to contribute to beloved Zambia’s progress. We can all make our motherland better by working together. There are no such things as political dynasties in our country.

  23. Congrats please work harder. The IG was fired because of the permit that PF was given to protest.Sorry you were doing a Good job bwana I G

  24. all of us are emotional in one way or another. understand that the poor lady was moved by emotions. i hope we all undersand what emotions are. we can not tell her to feel the way we perceive, she is entitled to her emotions. does what she says the reason to choose her as D.Finance Ministry, then it is wrong. i think she must have been chosen by merit in other words she may deserve it. lets wait and see how far we go with this kind of people!!! anyway we wish her the best in this ministry.

  25. Madam kapwepwe is qualified,bt lets stop ths name pleasing apointments in zed,and zed women you nid to a woman wth calibre to run as prezida very soon,nt useles bi*#hes lyk nawakwi.

  26. Though it comes as no suprise, shes a fine level headed woman. I had the opportunity to work in the same enviro with her in my Aero-zambia years. We were flyn arms to Huambo eastern Angola. Those were the days of dark-missions, remember the C113? Katumbis plane? Read between the lines!

  27. Im studying economics here in America and will back and join sata and teach MMD how to run the country.Zambia needs a bailout just like America as our economy is in coma.

  28. all you people that keep saying more money for the family do you mean to say that appointed cabinet personel should work for mahala??

  29. For the seek of digging deeper,do we need qualifications and experience to excute our duties deligently?
    (1)Just experience and no qualifications
    (2)Just Qualifications no experience
    (3)Both Qualifications and experience
    (4)Both no Qualifications and experience
When i got my job i only had item(2),but nowadays, the advertsiments i see in our daily papers is item(3)
Let me have your views verses politicts!…..

  30. Chileshe holds a full ACCA and a Masters of Finance from the London School of Business.
The CV is not a problem but I agree with the others. You dont come back by an appointment, especially from the man who lost the paper where Akashambatwa was.

  31. You do not have to have qualifications to be in RB’s cABINET. Just a boot licker. Mulongoti used to sell me sugar and bread at Shoprite sorry ZCBC then in Luanshya. You just have to be at the right place at the right time.

  32. Insight never mind, in Zambian standards anyone can work as a politician, the only if not the biggest problem we have is, we tend to confuse those that speak loud with intelligency

  33. # 25 what qualifications do you need to be a Zed presido?

Congrats Chileshe, you have made it and remember this is not about your dad or the Kapwepwe family no, it is about the performance we will be looking at you to be judged.
This is a tribute RB 72 is making towards late Simon Kapwepwe, he was a personal friend and worked together under the leadership of KK.
Now it will be former DG’s children and relatives.

Viva H H a man who does not entertain friendship payment

  34. I too can cry, not just any tears but those of joy. Being in government comes with a good life and lots of previledges mwee. More money, more heineken, more houses and more cars. Kids to good schools. More important you leave a legacy on which your wife, children, brother may be appointed to government one day by some politician who assumes high office of the land. So who can not cry for that all you people?

  35. #62

I see what you are getting at. Personally I think qualifications should come in different ways. I have come across very dull ‘educated people’ and ‘very intelligent’ unschooled people. It is a wprold of paradoxes. But then you have alright dull, uneducated people. I have friends with high memory capacity and Degrees, Proffessors even and will tell you exactly (verbatim) the thing they read 40 years ago but have not a simple structure(house) to stay in. For me that is gross ignorance.

  36. zambians – so fcuking petty…talk about phds! is the glass really always half empty! Please give this woman a chance and let her enjoy the moment. thank you

  37. Zambian, let give credit were it is due.Praising someone when is died is no good. When someone is doing good, give credit than posthumously praise.Hypocrisy.

  38. No. 66 Alangizi.
You data for all those who may want to doubt it is correct. Mulongoti was selling mealie meal in former NIEC in Luanshya to be precise. The Building is located very close to the Civic centre and right now someone wants to open a supermarket in there. All one needs pa Zed is your dad’s legacy and being connected kwasila.

  39. Mwaiche chile dont this this is the beginning of a good journey ,why counting the eggs before they are hached.Welcome to hell

  40. I adore madam kapwepwe, being a fellow lady i wish i cld have what it is that makes you tick. viva ck, all the best lady. and pls bloggers give her a chance to perform before you criticize

  41. No. 72 Anonymous, You are right survival instincts dont go with degrees or a PhD. Some people with qualifications have failed to survive in Zambia. Others are surviving and managing so well. There are people who have been to UNZA but they have no accomodation of their own, yet a kanyoni bird has a nest. What do you think?

  42. Congrats Chileshe. Work hard and move Zambia to higher levels. The standard Magande set should be surpassed or maintained. It is the results that Zedians will be looking for.

  43. How about appointments for the opposition leaders who went round with RB on campaigns. What was the deal between MMD and those opposition leaders – Sikota, Nawakwi etc. I am sure they helped MMD win the elections.

Does any blogger here know what the deal was with RB and MMD? I for one thought Sikota could make a good Vice president. He doesnt have to be MMD. He’s got brains. Nawakwi was Finance minister so I am sure she can do better than Mulongoti or Teta – well even better than Vera.

  44. Listen to RB72 interview on radio Zambezi FM on his victory how the world will be affected economically including you.

Viva H H never look on relatives and frineds to appointments

  45. Hai blogers, i just took a quik browse. I can’t see Dog Father and other members of the house Baby C,Beautiful 1, Miss President etc… at least i’ve seen afew. I’l be back shortly.

  46. let ha b pipo, dats ha qualification n has taken ha samwhere, shes sitting on money n we gona tok bt noting is gona change fro our toks.big up kapwepwe bt dont grow wings to se u bak in politics as kapwepwe family.who knows u da last one to b in politics.da nxt gvt might not favour yo family.

  47. And as I have said before, aprt from UNIP almost all the opposition parties are off shoots of MMD, meaning ideologically they are on the same side with MMD. They are in opposition simply because of personal differences, and also because they were not given jobs. Look at Sata, Nawakwi, Miyanda, Tembo etc. All of them are MMD by blood. They did not leave because of idelogical differences. Mainly it was due to 3rd term, which was greed on the part of FTJ and Sata, not a shift in ideology. RB can give some of these jobs in govt. After all RB is UNIP, by blood. He’s not a blue, an MMD.

  48. Never mind, lam a politicalscience scholar, however,#80 you need my comment.Even in Europe, the level of unemployment is high too.
You can have a Degree but no employment or you have a Degree but not doing a good job for degree holder.
Now,it is the matter of time or not getting the right thing.

  49. #88, they where on a contract to receive allowances from the treasury.RB72 could not put them on those seats because they have ULP and FDD party cards.Unless they resign, then he will extend the olive branch to the same.

Viva H H he listens to ideas from Zedians

  50. If the Litunga did not want Sikota to be VP then I encourage the Litunga to put national interest above personal and tribal sentiments. Let us have brainy VPs. Kunda can go back to his old job.

  51. #94. Then they might as well resign. What hope does FDD have. I have not even come across their cadres on this blog. We only have PF, MMD and UPND cadres. This speaks volumes about the rest of the parties. Oh, we had one for Heritage during campaigns.

  52. OK guys there is kapwepwe what about Musokotwane isnt he related to KB Musokotwane of UNIP.If he is why isnt aslo talking about a come back. When i saw the appointments thats the first thing came to my mind Banda has brought about a come back for the freedom fighters as well as some unip guys. Anyhow its a good thing.

  53. #92 I agree with you in totality that Chiluba and Sata were greedy on the issue of third term.
Now,Sata has the hubit to change the constitution,if he understands the clause on tenure of presidency(Third term).
This time around was an attempt to overlook on the constitution,if sata won the elections and have elections in 2013.Please watch sata’s statements. What a flop?Third term flopped,2001 lost elections,2006 lost elections and 2008 lost elections again.
Sata seem to have a negative C.V for PLOT ONE JOB.

  54. #43 then this grade 4 must be very wise , that is why he has so many followers the educated and uneducated viva sata viva pf .had it not been for rigging it would have been a different story

  55. #79

what makes CK tick is her name,so as long as u r not a Lewanika, kapwepwe,Musokotwene 4get it U’ll never b like her no matter what u do,period.

  56. #99 the newly appointed Finance minister is related to the late KB of UNIP, obviously if given a chance to speak out he will first cry and then thank RB72 for giving him a chance for the coming back of Musokotwane in GRZ.

Viva H H one day his dreams will come true

  57. I want to marry you. may be I can ride on your name to get to state house. Village Concept ma 13 pin always yachilamo. what do you say chileshe? All the the best, from your mbuya in Petauke. I forgot where will I take Angela? Is it constitutional to have 2 first ladies? LAZ advise!!!!

  58. I am happy with the combination of Musokotwane and Kapwepwe. Non of them is grade 4, including their appointing authority all of them have a minimum of Masters. This is very nice. Magande kept being arrogant even when he was already droped. I heard him say, he was happy because the team appointed he trained them. But who trained him, he did not tell us. Magande was training a Doc. when he has a mere degree.

  59. Dr Musokotwane is Kebby’s young brother , he is a professioal and very intelligent. He is a self made man, soft spoken and technocratic.
We cant run away from the fact that some families have very goods traits in their genes. For example if you want to have an intelligent child just sir one with the Mbikusita’s or Chibesakunda’s

  60. Kampwepwe is a Chartered Accountant(ACCA)U.K.qualified for life with a lot of flexibilitty. It is the same qualification that Francis Kasonde, Felis Mutati,Dan Pule and all these bosses of audit firms are chartered accountants.

  61. Plz LT can we move on to a topic that is stmulating, debatable and intreasting than this one… This is a bit slow & quiet boring actually!!!! Congratulations to her, wish her the best!!!!

  62. Dr Musokotwane is Kebby’s young brother , he is a professioal and very intelligent. He is a self made man, soft spoken and technocratic.
We cant run away from the fact that some families have very goods traits in their genes. For example if you want to have an intelligent child just sire one with the Mbikusita’s or Chibesakunda’s

  63. #108, Magande resigned before changes of RB72 and ba Musokotwane was under him that is why he’s proud of that.

Viva H H he is proud of Zedians as they get education

  64. All the kapwepwe girls are very intelligent and succesful in life. They are also well mannered and are achievers. I dont know what to say about Sata’s children.

  65. #105.
You have nothing to offer to this discussion.
Why dont you read from those who have something to offer?
Or is it that what we write here are beyond your comprehension.
You need to have respect for elderly statesmen.
I hope you did not skip training in manners when you were growing up.
I hope you are still retrievable.

  66. Ba Golyati, your rationale is very skewed?! What’s this obsession with names and families? Fact is, worldwide, the priveleged and connected get to have doors opened for them where others have to struggle. Even in the US, Senators’ children find it easy to get interships at prominent law firms and with such exposure, they excel on a bigger stage. Same in Zed, prominent families have the same advantage. But to say that their genetics is superior, is utter trash!? Cmon Mr Golyati, that’s very backward thinking…sire kids with the Chibesakunda’s my foot!

  67. So Mulenga and Chileshe Kapwepwe are twin sisters, how come Mulenga looks more light skined and beautiful than her sister Chileshe? The other thing is, aren’t these women married or don’t they have kids or something? How old are these ladies? Or are they like Inonge Lewanika who apparently was married to some Easterner (Nyirenda) but kept her self made Lewanika name to be used for political purposes. If we are going to have people appointed based on their family backgrounds then we are in trouble because some people who come from these ‘political families’ are not very smart at all but then that’s how things are pa Zed. What a shame!!

  68. 103. Biggie Jim
Sikota is both intelligent and wise.
He at least helped to make RB win to avoid some of the opposition leaders from ever becoming presidents.

  69. Can someone in Zambia put the phone number of The Post newspaper on this blog,i want to report that they have a virus on their site,it’s been there since the 17th of November,i wanted to browse their headlines & my anti virus software quarantined the virus,if u don’t have a good anti virus/spyware program u won’t know, the virus is still there,if u vist The Post site & yo PC has gone really slow then that’s the answer,VIRUS so give me their number i call them to have their site sorted,i think it’s fraudsters targeting the paper coz of they want to still card & banl details of paying subscribers to The Post, the only of few papers that charges, shame!

  70. #80
they is time for everything, time to be born, time to laugh, time to die, time to …..
Patience pays….Miracles do not work to everyone at the same time.Who knows maybe you appointment is coming, remember the other list has not been availed to us yet!

  71. Golyati #112/115, you sound like one Golyati we use to hear of in Kitwe, a while back! He was a ngwangwazi thug/bully at KMB? However, he was later embarassed when he was clobbered (via shaolin kung-fu) by a chinese contractor working for China Hainan! Tell me it’s not you, or have you also become sophisticated like your big brother ba Willie Nsanda (that you now even know how to use the net???)…

  72. In short, if you thought your uncle or aunt would be the Deptuy Finance Minister, you feel like a right donkey today. Shut your cake-holes and let the natural order of things to take their course.

It’s not her fault that her surname is Kapwepwe. Even Situmbeko is not guilty of anything. You’re wallowing in the dark corner of your obscure surnames. Work hard, educate your children ba mambala.

  73. # 118 what sort of comments are these. You seem to be very interested in the personal private lives of the Kapwepwe sisters. And how can you start comparing siblings like that? Just because someone is more light skinned does not make them more beautiful. Anyway let us concentrate on real issues. Good luck to Kapwepwe as she takes up her new role.

  74. 131. Shidada, Windhoek
Yeah,i have tried to google to get their contact details but can’t seem to find their number or email address,i don’t wanna go on their site to retrieve the details coz quarantining their virus halts everything & it means restarting the PC after that, actually this has been happening since 15th November not yesterday.

  75. #103 Biggie Jim, Looks like #120 Fine has a point. In any case, I would prefer Sikota were VP instead of giving Kunda the role. Kunda is already a minister. He may be hard working but he cant give 100% to the VP position. Well, may be Nawakwi could be VP, why not. A lady VP is cudos! Look at former VPs – Miyanda, Tembo, Nervours, RB etc. I am sure Nawakwi can perform just as well. I think FDD should disband and go back to MMD. The nation will undersatnd since we were all against FTJ’s 3rd Term. There was no other reason why they left MMD. If they went back even last year, RB would not be president now. Let us have only 3 big parties in Zambia- MMD, PF and UPND. Sikota should join MMD.

  76. This is what we are questioning, now you are telling us that musokotwane is young brother to the late kebby. These guys will be strengthening their empire while we remain blogging. this is 44 years after independence and we are stuck with the same families, there are so many zambians capable of contributing to zed development. look at the system and check who is related to who but let us wait and see.

  77. Thats why when marrying they check the family you are marrying from some families have inclination for prostitution, some for madness, some for devorces, some for barreness, some for dullness, some are querrelsome. Choose a family with inclination to education and intelligency then you will sire intelligent children. For example look at the offsprings of vera and chiluba..Castro and Miko does it ring a bell.

  78. I wonder why most females in RB cabinet are singles/single mothers.Confirm the marrital status of the following ministers- Chileshe Kapwepwe, Dora Siliya, Vera Tembo,Angela Cifire, catherine Namugala etc.

  79. What I have found is that some Zambian politicians are stuck in the past, it is no wonder we can even entertain the idea of having an old president like RB and having people appointed based on their family names. Isn’t this the reason that our nation seems not to move forward fast enough because we keep having the same people doing different yet similar things that don’t take us any where?

  80. #105 i encourage you to stay off, because you are off the mark.Let us use platform for our planners(policy)makers to use part of our know how.

  81. Sire children with the families of Mwenechanya’s, Simpits, Mutatatis, Magandes, Kaundas, Sisalas, Mwanzas and Mweenes then you are guranteed of intelligent children. But make a mistake and sire children with the Dora Siliyas, Gorretti Mapulangas, Sivia Masebo and Chiluba and Dan Pule then you must be prepared to have prostitutes among your children.

  82. #140 Could be that most men fear to marry self assertive women. A lot of such women are single, even when they really want to marry. This is the case all over. Several men are cowards. For this reason, quite a lot of very educated men have married women with humble or modest academics. Fact.

  83. 139. JADE
Thanx so much for the numbers Jade,i was connected to The Post’s webmaster,he confirms they’ve been having problems since last friday so i told him it’s a virus as it has been quarantined everytime i log onto their website. He says thank you so much ”boss” to us that have confirmed the problem.

  84. #140 Dora Siliya is a devorcee she was married to Chisha folotiya, Angela Cifire is a widow, Vera devorcee former wife to Chiluba. Iam not sure Namugala and Chileshe all i know is they are single.

  85. I have been following comments on this thread & i can’t help bust say some of our fellow men really have a problem & are sexist. What is wrong with a woman being single & having so much power. It has been proved that most men fear women who are educated & have responsible positions.Kapwepwe was CEO of NAC,Cifire was Senior Human Resources Manager at ZESCO,i also know of many other women at ZESCO who are very senior & are single basically what am saying is that most women that are highly educated are single because no ordinary man will approach her,it takes a man with real guts,i know of a reserve Police detective constable in Ndola who is married to a former senior ZESCO Manager.

  86. Golyati #147, you’re a twit! We know you’ve got a brain the size of a pea, but pls spare us the buffoonery! Trust me, no one would want to sire a child with a clown called Golyati!

  87. # 148 uk zed observer

The reason is simple, a man must have sex when he wants it from his wife. NOW WHEN YOU MARRY THESE SO CALLED ASSERTIVE women you have to negotiate for sex. When you insist the talk to you about human rights and gender.

  88. Off topic guys.
Those in diaspora, someone explain to me why we have to be changing our passports? Mine is valid for another 6 yrs. I have permanent residence (PR) in it, if I have to get a new passport, then it means I have to get a new PR in the new passport. What a country our is!

Why not say those that are valid are valid until they expire? Britain changed their passport but all those who had old ones were told they still had to hold on to them until they expired.

God I am going to get a British passport!

  89. #101,Please,do not talk about rigging, let me be cited for comtempt. But the truth of the matter is that the opposition shared the votes.
Now,MMD was coming first or second,if you total what do you expect?Let the opposition organise themselves. The system used by ELECTION COMMISIION was perfect.
Sata knows that he lost,he is just using that for popularity and a silver line for 2011.
Sata tell us when is the next election?
    2011 or 2013
Please ,Sata do not change laws to suit you.You did not do a good job on the constitution.

  90. 101
HAVE EVA CHEKD OUT SATA’S STRONGHOLD,ITS JST CB,LSK N PART OF CENTRAL PROVINCES,SO U TINK ZED IS MADE UP OF ONLY 3 PROVINCES.WAKE UP N B INFORMED.
YO PRESIDENT CN NEVA B A GUD PRESIDENT 4 DA NATION.LET HIM CONTINUE LEADING PF.CAM 2011 IT LL B ANOTHA TITANIC,DIS TYM HE WONT SURVIVE.VIVA NO PARTY

  91. #155. Anonymous
The other problem is that the Zambian govt thru the Immigration Dept kept on issuing old passports till a few months ago,it means all those who have recent ”old type” passports will have to fork out more to get the new one.I hope it looks different from the old one & has those features they say they added otherwise it’s a reap off.

  92. #158 Afrofusion What hurts is they come up with all this r)u)b)b)i)s)h) about features when we know they only end up with West Africans.

I am not paying for it sorry! What a nation! You do not force. Why do we keep doing this when we are a poor country? If Gordon said everyone has to have a new passport God that would be the end of him! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

  93. except for a few sensible person most of the blogers here tryin to jokers all the time, but this not funny and plz try to take serious things serious and if u got nuthin to say just shut up,we’l appreciate

  94. Let me by rational on plateform,Sata said if he won the election, the next elections 2013.
If RB says elections 2013,Zambians you will say alot of bad things and condermination, now Sata said it,you are all quite.
Let us critise with proper reason

  95. #154 Goliati. You are very funny. Human rights in bed, boy!!!! No wonder they remain single. I understand why a certain professor has a grade 7 wife. Good value for his lobola.

  96. BEST news I’ve heard since His Excellency Mr. Simon Kapwewe’s untimely death. The man was a TRUE patriot. He LOVED his country more than ANY. A BRILLIANT man, cheated from his destiny by selfish corrupt “leaders”. How different our fate could have been had he served a mere 4 years. LONG LIVE THE KAPWEWE FAMILY! NEVER forget the other African leaders that fell the same fate: PATRICE LUMUMBA (a TRUE Pan-Africanist), JOSHUA NKOMO, & WINNIE MANDELA. We LOVE you ALL.

  97. Dear bloggers, this is to inform you that Lusaka Times have been approached to get culprits (those insulting others) on this blog with their real names published. We all know this is possible. It has been necessitated by flow of insults on this blog. You have been warned!

  98. We need change in Zambia. Too much names!!!!!!! All Zambians should feel they can be whatever they want, they do not need to belong to a particular family

  99. Salibe. Wasalipa we mwana wa mfumu, Lesa abe naiwe Chileshe Kapwepwe. Humble beginnings but focusing on the future always. Efyo iya pa world.

  100. Join and practice politics if you want your family name to be part of the Zambian politics and limelight. RB appointed people who had already chosen to be political practitioners like Chileshe KAPWEPWE and Situmbeko MUSOKOTWANE.

  101. Bamayo Ba Chileshe tekwesha ukulaufwila abalesosa ifyabola.

For those of us who know you, we know you are qualified, competent and capable.

Kano nganibena. Go my dear go. Show them.

We have all the confidence in you.

  102. Being appointed is no “come back”. People should also realise when they are being “used!” Why do u think she cried – it was simply beyond her dreams. we have yet to see whether she can deliver, what she did not deliver at NACS – the Doorway to zambia!! I’m a proud Zambie, there is really nothing to write home about – not surprising that renewal of contract appeared too dicey!! We as a people, should now take time to reflect – we have the power to determine our destiny, however if we remain blinded & remain scared & docile, will it be any surprise when we have more of the nyama soya dosis!! For all Sata’s ills, his cigars, his roughness – he is still a man that produced substance as Guvnor!!

  103. The title “Kapwepwe family” has come back is very unfortunate. I would have appreciated it very much if whoever wrote this article concentrated on the quality that the woman is and brings to the Cabinet instead of portraying divisive tacts like it is written. It appears that the Journalists in Zambia are now bent of dividing the Nation.

  104. We just want Chileshe to help us burry PF and its Micheal Sata. If she comes through MMD she might assume a national charater and do one better that the old man – not through the regionally biased (P)erennial (F)ailures or (UN)nder (P)erforming (D)epartment.

  105. We just want Chileshe to help us burry PF and its Micheal Sata. If she comes through MMD she might assume a national character and do one better that the old man (SMK) – She will have no chance in politics if she tries to come through the regionally biased (P)erennial (F)ailures or (UN)nder (P)erforming (D)epartment.

  106. I think the best thing to do is to remove some of these powers from the president, too many appointments, ispector general of police, amy general, 10 mps, ministers etc, if i had my way, i would like make the office of vice president to be an elective one, do away with nominated mps, make the army and police chief independent, but we are africans and we can only do things with pressure from the west, who will be brave enough to get away this dark cloud that covers afrika, where are the nkwame nkhulumas of this age, as africans i think we are slaves to our own selves.

  107. VJ is probably one of the worst things to have ever happened to Zambia. Ms. Kapwepwe Hmmmmm!!!!!! we shall pray for the madam. Why is botswana much better than we are, yet we have more resources. Greedy Zambians, jealous too. Even abroad we are always in one anothers business, Good night.

  108. No# 156 I know exactly what you mean. Being here has taught us alot about vote sharing. Especially amongst the opposition. Let us pray to Jesus, for only he can put us on a path to save Zambia.

  109. she’s capable of this position and she’ll prove herself,so people can say all the mean things they like it doesn’t take away from her capabilities, some families like ours made a name by hardwork so wether you think it’s a come back or not the point is we who have that last name work hard and we prove ourselvelves by working hard..after all is our country not the land of work and joy?? as for those who are interested in her private life it’s considered “private” for a reason and so mind your own business!!! so what if her airport contract wasn’t renewed?? who said contracts are a life time guarantee??

  110. My brother suggested I may like this website. He was totally right. This put up truly made my day. You cann’t believe simply how so much time I had spent for this information! Thank you!
