Zain subscibers in Northern Province complain

Share

Most districts in Northern Province have continued to experience intermittent breakdowns of network for Zain for over three weeks now.

The situation has forced some subscribers to switch to some other networks in order to keep communicating.

In Mungwi district, subscribers for zain have, however, demanded an explanation from company management on why the area has continued to experience network failure.

The residents stormed ZANIS offices in Mungwi today to register their displeasure at the situation.

The business sector has also suffered serious repercussions as a result of the breakdown of the network.

Some businessmen said they had incured business losses because of the network failure.

One businessman, Peter Ndemena, appealed to Zain management to immediately rectify the network problem being experienced in the area.

Efforts to get a comment from Public Relations Manager, Kennedy Sinkamba, failed by press time as he was reportedly busy in a meeting.

  1. Zain you better pull up your socks every evening the network is not correct you have made enough to make things right for Zambian people please i am about to stop using chi zain number

  2. Sorry Northern province maybe zain is for MMD and that is punishment for supporting PF. Copperbelt watch out you are next

  3. Zain is not only about network but charge per minute is k1,000 which is too expensive. If you top up with 10,000 you only have 7-8 minutes of talking. These arabs are thieves!

  4. OK seriously speaking i feel zain is slowly becoming the worst and we are blinded to see this fact by they promotions of winning the macopolo and what not.Imagine we buy airtime for K5,000 and speak for less than 5 minutes. K400 as promotion charge when you take part, now imagine how many peaple are taking part in lusaka only and how many times by one individual per day? lets say 100,000 sending 4 times each, when you do your math well its K160,000,000 X 7days= K1,120,000,000 X 2weeks= K2,240,000,000. By the way that was just lusaka.

  5. Why give them business as if its the only company which provide such services. Why act as if they being forced to subscribe with Zain. Celtel (Zain) their network has always being a problem. Go to Cell Z or MTN.

  6. ZAIN shud stop stealing your money, i mean zain subscibers, their network is pathetic to say the best.Anyway u enjoy to ma simple promotions,so complain sana.VIVA MTN.

  7. #10. i agree with you, but what happened to VODACOM who wanted to invest in the communication industry. Is it that the Communication Authorities are Toothless.

  8. My wife abandoned chi Zain early this year. And what are you waiting for? They will never improve.Never.In my house it is MTN everyone.Let me see mass defections this same week.

  9. I was once a Zain customer now moved to Cell Z and im enjoying the
good quality of service. it is true abakali bakali tabalandalanda.
join your own and best network Cell Z and you will never regret.

  10. I was once a Zain Customer and left the most expensive and bad network in Zambia. Im now with CELL Z my fellow Zambians it is the best network and very affordable the quality of service at Cell Z is superb.

  11. At Zain you can hold two fons in your hand and try dial the other five times, it will tell you that the subscriber is outside coverage area or switched off!on or the the five occassions.

  12. If only MTN could take advantage of the zain fault and spread their tentacles to all corners of zambia, they would be the largest network by now. But awe they seem very comfortable with their tiny share of the market mwee. Why cant they be more aggressive in their expansion? Most of us are still with faulty zain because our relatives up country (aka rural voters) are on the same network. Excuse the pun but its almost like choosing to stick with faulty MMD because there is no viable opposition. Someone should tell MTN to wake up and take advantage of this current void in the market. Or lets have another service provider. Zain is totally useless

  13. Sarah wa shooter go if u want hw many pipo in yo SIM do u have who u gonnne call the moment u sign up go ahead u will be back….and that i promise soon when MTN as small as it is fails…

  14. I wonder why ZAIN is behaving like that pa Zed pantu kumbi balifwe bwino, come on Zambians you are too cool and thats why everyone is taking advantage of you. talking won’t serve Zain right just defect and join Mwana wa cisi CellZ.Promote your own no wonder you vote for foreigners coz you like foreign things.Ala muchinje

  15. Politics of poverty is what we ve to suffer.Allow vodacom here no nonsense to ve.mmd u complain zesco load shedding zain also too bad.just ve two networks.

  16. Pipo,

Ever heard of freedom of choice? You joined Zain alone, and please if you’re not happy with Zain you have other options to take. For now, leave us to enjoy the wonderful world of ZAIN. You’ll be BACK!!

  17. I use all networks and they are all just as poor ZAMTELS problems are affecting all Mobile Service Providers in ZAmbia……………………. who knows maybe its just a conspiracy by Zamtel so they may seem as though they are the best network. Look at how they have failed to manage the International gateway and who takes the blame Zain ofcourse why? coz Zainers have taken communication in Zambia to another level naba business man ba ku mungwi bene abo ask him hw business was doing before Zain, now he makes loads of cash because of better communication systems brought in by ZAin en then just because of some hic cup (which can happen in any business) bayamba uku ponta

  18. they say u do not appreciate a slave untill he escapes, be content with what you have and make gud use or else you are as good as ama hule who will move from man to man and back to the same man.

  19. its not just the network, even the employees are underpaid, dont be decieved with the promotions kwati ba la fola sana, awe.kamofye ukupela mwanawasa ama million ya chililo.

  20. i’m told zain has about 2 million subscribers and MTN has around 500 thousand maybe that is y in some areas they appear to be good probably 200 subs in morthern that is very manageable but in livingstone put an mtn sim card in a motorola phone and you hear how many times it goes down in a week, PATHETIC!!!. Cell Z IS VERY PRIMITIVE wake up do they have a marketing department it’s hard to find cell z airtime at times. ZAIN NI ZEE….

  21. iwe bambi, if others never gave ku chililo, it just shows that they are uncaring, these network companies should pay back to the community whether huge or small amounts of money back to community not just chewing.

by the way does cell z has mobile internet now or they are still lagging behind as usual. cheap is expensive, why go to an internet cafe?

  22. its very sad with comments circulating that Zain is as bad as many subscribers feel about it

First and foremost Zain has broken the jinx of being the number one mobile subscriber aba shala ni ba ngwele, coz mtn was the first in Zambia coz they werent innovative. And cellz its like a dead network saving only the blind and farmers at large shame on the few blinds who are against Zain mukose……eh

  23. #37 if you are in zed you will (soon) realise that zain is actually the worst service provider. And even though zamtel coould be part of the problem, we cant wholly blame them for zain’s problems becoz celtel used to be a relatively ok service provider until they changed to zain and externalised all the monies made from the public floating of shares on LUSE. Why do you think even the celtel MD resigned when celtel changed to zain?? Its not just the name that changed; even the services went down. zain is now centrally operated from the middle east and they are not reinvesting the profits in local service provision. Thats why they have gone from bad to worse

  24. i’m not #37 sarah u have very wrong information i’m a dealer and i sale all three network products ofcourse zain is doing better probably because of marketing or distribution. when the name changed to zain i had alot of questions for celtel. the company(celtel) was bought in 2005 from a netherlands firm by MTC(ZAIN) from kuwait however they maintain the celtel for all celtel gruops in africa and MTC for middle east. when the name changed we were just invited for a party and met the same management nothing has changed dont give people wrong information. zain is a brand name for all companies owned by mtc(kuwait) e.g celtel,MTC,MOBITEL, VODAFONE-EAST they are all called zain now.

  25. by the way sarah have ever been to southern particularly livingstone and choma try to use all the three networks for a week i think you will have very clear thought about all of them. how can have a network that is wholly run from lusaka?
