The Chipata Municipal council has suspended the slashing of maize on hill slopes until further notice .

The action follows the action by some Chipata residents who yesterday went amok and wanted to slash maize at President Rupiah Banda’s farm after Chipata Municipal Council slashed their maize fields.

Chipata mayor Sinoya Mwale said the council will not continue the program until it convenes a meeting with the affected residents.

Residents whose maize was slashed by the local authority yesterday went on rampage stoning a Hummer belonging to Chipata central Member of Parliament Lameck Mangani, a shop in Navutika and the house belonging to the mayor.

Quick action by Zambia Police who rushed to the area, prevented the irate residents that wanted to protest by slashing maize at the president’s farm.

A check by ZANIS found police officers manning the field around 16 hours yesterday.

Sources who chose to be anonymous said police had rushed to the farm when the residents threatened to slash the fields at the farm of the head of state.

Earlier, the affected residents stormed the office of the District Commissioner Nicholas Banda seeking for assistance to appeal to the local authority not to continue with the program of slashing their fields.

Mr Mwale has vowed to take action against the people that stoned his house in protest against the slashing of maize.

He told a local radio station during a phone in program today that he was aware that the move to stone his house was instigated by some members of the ruling MMD.

Chipata Municipal council took the move of slashing the fields due to concerns of the environmental degradation caused by rain water that runs from the hills which have been left bare due to farming activities.

Mr Mwale said the local authority has been sensitizing residents against cultivating on the hills since last October though the residents went ahead and cultivated.

  3. Iam sure RB ordered the council to stop the exercise otherwise itwas going to be a great loss for him.

  4. We need to ask ourselves how an MP drives a Hummer in a country which has such a high poverty rate. Are these leaders honestly serving us as a country? Thank you Chipata residents for your burning and looting, we need to run these crooked politicians away. There has to be some form of uprising against politicians. Their wealth must be in line with the state of the nation.

  5. WHAT A LOUSY GIMMICK. WHO WANTED TO SLASH WHOSE WHAT? WHO DO YOU WANT TO CHEAT THAT POLICE CAN EVEN SLASH WHOSE BULLOCKS AS A SIGN OF DEMOCRACY? ITS LIKE CUTTING A CAKE AND EATING IT HIMSELF.

  6. It appears to me that our government does not take villagers serious. Surely there must have been another way of making them understand instead of slash their maize in the first place. That was a declaration of war and now the same gov’t turns around to outlaw them when they protest.

  7. The situation was serious!

“Chipata Municipal council took the move of slashing the fields due to concerns of the environmental degradation caused by rain water that runs from the hills which have been left bare due to farming activities,” is confusion me as I thought that vegetation protects the land by blocking run-off instead of causing the written degradation. Which one is which?

Why are Chipata Municipal council authorities slashing possible food in terms of Maize and Mealie Meal which has been die-man for some time in Zambia now? People are eating roots and herbs due to hunger and then some authorities are slashing their would-be produce, what are funny way of behaving. Isn’t this wasting energy? Energy both to plant Maize and then slash it for no end useful result.

  9. Every should treated equally in Zambia. The maize cut is a total loss.
In these times and situation, thats the last thing i think the council authority should have done. They can not feed them at the end of the day, relaible sources tell me not even RB can.Think to sort the issue the council should pay back,if some dude can even have hummers :-w:-w

  10. #20. We surely need CDP in Zambia, but the owners’ campaign strategy seems to be off-side! How do you campaign on Internet when only about 0.1% of voting Zambians access it? Free advice for CDP, it took the UPND, =;, 3 years to campaign on the ground for late Mazoka to make an impact and Sata or PF 5 years to make an impact on the ground to win hearts of Zambian voters. So, start campaigning on the ground in Zambia now and not later, CDP, if you are REAL or really serious about forming GRZ in the near future. UPND in 2011 might win after being around for 13 years. So try this way and not Internet localisation.

  12. “Chipata Municipal council took the move of slashing the fields due to concerns of the environmental degradation caused by rain water that runs from the hills which have been left bare due to farming activities”
In as far as i had stayed in Chipata i know there is no flat land like other provinces where peopple can cultivate, all what is there are mountains and hills and thats the only land in chipata where people can cultivate.I find it difficult for the council to stop people from cultivating coz thats the only land in chipata.

  13. This kind of retrogressive thinking by council in chipata is what is causing hunger in Eastern. All they need to do is to find a good solution to environmental degradation caused by rains rather than stopping people to cultivate, or introduce new farming methods.

    27. your flag Zed1, was UPN or UPND borne from MMD? If you are able to answer this one also, did MMD originate from UNIP? Or indeed were MMD/UPND/PF borne from UNIP? Is CDP also borne from UNIP? or MMD? PF? UPND? I hope to see some answers of these questions from you, if you feel able to answer them!

  15. ya that’s right chipata residents – slash those stalks!!!why not they slashed yours!let RB feel the sting of his goverment’s mismanagement.maestro…he he he,get the thoughts of UPND winning out of your head – teta was mazoka’s rightful succesor!how did HH there – we all know!UPND will give us a president – just not in 2011 or the next elections or the elections after that!!!sorry! :d:d:d

  16. #35, if you as an individual were the entire Zambian voters community, I was going to be worried. But since you are one self-confused individual who thinks you can alone vote for a Zambian President, I will take it that you need psychological help before you do something sad to yourself when reality sets in your mind. Please, have a good day as I will not reply to any useless comments or question of the nature you have placed in your sensations.

  17. 10. Chinsali Inc,

” We need to ask ourselves how an MP drives a Hummer in a country which has such a high poverty rate. ”

Or why in a time of food shortages, the local council can be slashing crops of maize.

I would say the people have more than a legitimate gripe.

  18. My advice to the council – let the people plant strips of vertiver grass on hill slopes to check soil erosion. This will allow them to cultivate on hill slope without seriuos environmetal damage

  19. ah maestro are we taking things personal now?this is not about me or you,it’s about reality and what’s on the ground.in september YOU were predicting a SURPRISE,as in HH winning.if you want to talk about psychology(which by the way i’ve studied!!!)the fact that you used SURPRISE shows that even you acknowledged the unlikliness of the event.realistic people stated that HH had NO CHANCE but you buried your head in the sands of irradical hope (in which your head is apparently still buried) – we all saw the results!i have nothing against HH but i believe in being realistic.for all his bussiness exploits, the man is far from exerting the same influence politically….

  20. imwe bantu who has a hummer apart from mmembe?politician na hammer?iyo nkani MARTWOLD tell me more you people.economi ili puwa yet others drive hummers,ni tax yabandani?

  21. #24 Maestro!
I agree with you that we need CDP in Zambia. However, I disagree that a party or CDP needs those number of years you have given to win an election. My understanding is that; it is not the number of years a party is in existence but if that party has an appealing message for the people. It barely took the MMD one year to effectively mount a campaign that saw “MIGHTY” UNIP out of power. Let us wait and see what these CDP people have under the sleeve.

  22. (43 continued)…exept in the south(most zambians have a reason for this!!!).your support for HH,i can’t take from you,it’s yours keep it!your sentiments on his winning in the near future,i object.for all your sentiments abuot me being alone zambian holding this view, maybe you should take a look in the mirror and ask yourself if your’e not the lone one (or in a small group!) celebrating presidential victory.at least once (2008)you were!!! goodnight sir.and i like RB’s pose by the maize! :)>-:)>-:)>-:)>-**==**==**==

  23. Matworld.

Was working out of town today. Just came back a while ago and got some sad news from back home, lost my sister in law!

  24. Nine Chale you have made me laugh my lungs out. You have stopped saying nambala 1.You are just saying it in a special way.Ala LT ichimbika muchibe ine naleka fya nambala 1.But i wil copy your trick style of doing it.Love you man!

  25. People in Chipata voted for RB.
This is the reward he is giving them.
I guess alot more will come.
Their maize fields have been cut,RBs field protected.
    What a shame!

  26. Matworld. Thank you very much. I do not think I will be long here tonight.8->

Keep well Matworld. I have to ring my mother now. Are you going to be in SA during the world cup Matworld?

  27. I cant see the logic behind the slashing of the maize. RB first gave them fertilizer for 50pin. After realising that the Chipata residents have used the fertilizer in the field, then he sends the council to slash the maize before they are ready. What a Tom and Jerry!

  28. No. 18 & 19, A Hummer costs less than a Landcruiser VX – this is a non issue

On the Maize, yesterday we were told the council was slashing maize to uphold the law. Today people violet the same so called law by trespassing and slashing RB’s maize and the council sees fit to suspend their adherence to the law that they were hitherto so keen to publicise. So the law only applies as long as a VIP’s rights are not violated? What nonsense, either leave the maize on hillsides alone or enforce the law without interference form above.

  29. But this is very bad.How do you slash people,s maize just like that. You failed to give them fertiliser for K50,000.Eforts were made by these people to buy seeds and other inputs. In order for them to have some food evantually. But this government directs the council to slash their maize, hey. How i wish they would have slashed RB,s maize. So that he knows how it feels. If you want know the wrath of a human being, touch his food, money or his girl.Iwe kuti wafwilapo!

  30. The response of the villagers / peasant farmers who had their maize slashed should not come as a surprise. I said yesterday that the council should have stepped at the very begining of the season and given the peasant farmers alternatives. By now these farmers would have planted seeds on alternative allotments and this melee will not even be there. If anyone needs chastising, it is the council bigwigs. These people will need food and for most of them what was slashed down was probably their full years’ supply !!!

  31. Cute i have nothing against you in my heart.I dont know why you had to come out like that on me.You know that i have always joked with you.I wil never attack you no matter what you say against me.

  34. When was that picture taken? Why do you have to slashing maize now?
Is this not meant to be in April? ie the harvesting time?
Is it not that Premature cutting of the Maize keeps the grain from reaching maturity, and can cause serious losses in the quality of the product.?
    Who is a farmer?

Chewe is alive? >:/ Chewe hope you not embarrasing yourself with any female name you see, as has been the norm.

  35. # 10. Chinsali Inc,

Mangani Phiri used his time very wisely here in the US.Instead of blogging insults and waiting to be number 1 on blogs 24-7,he got good education, land pretigious corporate job, served and invested back home before returning.Had his businesses in the money then entered politics.A Hummer is a Bugatti Veyron gobbling US $1,192,057 or a Pagani Zonda C12 F @ $667,321 Or a SSC Ultimate Aero @ $654,400,.LeBlanc Mirabeau @ $645,084 or even a .Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren @ $457,250 A GT supercar, Porsche Carrera GT $440,000

  36. 62 Spectator, no need for the Race Card, keep it to your chest. Really though, we’re all equal. It’s our upbringing and our moral values. Either we choose to honor our obligations or we don’t.
I think your stereotyping is ridiculous.
Regardless, lets give the women some blame here too. Why are they spreading their legs with men that aren’t responsible? Why are they either not maintaining birth control or insisting on it?

There is plenty of blame for people of all colors and gender. Black men do take care of their kids

  37. Mat Got well last night. tried all the advises thrown at me, somehow one must have worked, thanks for asking.
Just tired and preparing for tommorrow, will be off shortly. Enjoy your evening

  38. A hummer is neither a Maybach 62 @ $385,250 or Saleen S7 Twin Turbo @ $555,000.The cost of a hummer is managable by even street boys in US Gettos is within what you with your BSc,BBA,BA even before landing a Graduate school degree level job make.

  39. A Hummer is not a Bugatti Veyron gobbling US $1,192,057 or a Pagani Zonda C12 F @ $667,321 Or a SSC Ultimate Aero @ $654,400,.LeBlanc Mirabeau @ $645,084 or even a .Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren @ $457,250 A GT supercar, Porsche Carrera GT $440,000

  40. 65 My perception of mixed race people is that they are black, is that wrong?
Also i am a proud blackman, and it seems you feel you porobably not black yourself, which is understandable

When black people get educated or come into money, we generally leave the community for obvious reasons, leaving behind the less fortunate. This abandonment, albeit rational, foments resentment among the haves and have nots. It also removes an invaluable resource from the black community.
Ultimately personal responsibility is the cure. But if the successful among us flee, who will teach and serve as an example to the rest? Stop stereotyping mate

  41. #10 do you know the price for ministers’Land Cruiser? a good second hand costs about $20,000 in Japan ,how much does a second Hammer costs here in USA.He mighty have sold his Land cruiser and by a Hammer in return.

  42. Maestro Hhehhehhhe there is geography envolved, like soil erosion filya waishiba, and those people cut trees which retain most of the water descending from the moutains tops. The water finds its way to the communities living near the mountains using the same paths they use and in most waste cases they destroy the roads thereby making it difficult to maintain roads every year

  43. # 78.zest,

I know not of any SUV bought by Ministry of Works and Supply loaned to legislatures being second hand.I now of detaled cars here in the US but what GRZ buys oftenly through Toyota Zambia are brand new SUVs.How can they be used when they are all latest models on the market unless you are paid to come down people’s disquite that someone is enjoying more than others.Talk of VX in 1996,Lexus VX in 2003, Toyota Prado VX 2006, M Benz X-Class 2007 model bought in 2007.You call these used going at U 20K? You are a joker.

I believe none of you with the leisure of blogging daily made not lss than US $ 60K last year.Four years along the road of fiscal discipline you cnnot fail to drive a Hummer if its your dream one.No wonder Mangani like many african politicians such as Odinga in Kenya drives Hummers.

  45. People of Chipata relax. we know that you are annoyed. Just to be reminded you were told that sata and pf are mad niba kaponya. you chose Banda. Now y are u behaving like PF. have you become PF. Its now clear we are in Chipata. this when it was on CB or Lusaka bloggers say indisciplined PF now it is Chipata uko. Guys these guys are law breakers growing maize on a hill is illegal. we dont care whether its is food the law is law. we told Banda not to give fert to civil servants they have no farms. he went ahead they used it by growing on hills in the city. PF is always ahead. yes am grade 4 but wiser than Master holder Banda. because am married to a DR not primary school teacher tandi:d/:d/:d/:d/:d/:d/:d/:d/:d/:d/:((:((:((:((

  47. Kuku- you are unfortunately deluded because you are in the US. The same 20K you see as paltry change can go a long way in a community in Zambia. It does not make sense that a Zambian MP drives a Hummer- by what means? We are missing priorities here. You are in the materialistic American Way my friend. I am in Dallas TX making 78K a year- but even I know a Hummer payment is luxurious. Stop lying and capitalizing on half truths. You are probably an hourly wage fella who does not understand finances well. Zambia is not America my disillusioned friend. Wake up.

  48. #83 KUKU Toyota landcruiser 2001 model 4200cc

  50. #87.Zed1,

You are in Dallas,TX making US $78K per year and you say i’m an hourly wage earner with o clue of finance. Then you go ahead that those with money in Zambian leadership should not drive automobiles you have given book value of US $20k.Has Zambia reverted to socialism where those who have earned their money and entered Politics should never drive US $20k automobies? What is the value of HH’s latest Lexus VX? Teta’s Lexus,Captain Chewe’s Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren? It will immature for me to blog you that you have insulted with your look down on others attitude.Blessings are blessings US $65 is not on peak of Kilimanjalo for every body but you.Its not a Kilimanjalo bracket.

  51. #67. You seem not to understand where the term “black….” stems from in USA. Anything that is not pure white in the USA is or was considered BLACK. So don’t deceive yourself that Obama or anyone else alike is not considered black, espeaically, in the USA. The man is black and we are proud of him as such.

  52. Slashing of maize fields in residential areas is not a new thing. I remember the council doing that when I was a young boy in Lusaka. But the best strategy is to sensitive the residents before any such cultivation is done. Fields in residential areas harbor mosquitoes, and are hiding places for illegal activities..

  53. #87.Zed1,
Any hardworking person who has tapped into serious ways of life and mastered ways of navigating above and beyond through ways of life can make more than you think of them. Be they based in your Dallas, TX or Boston,Sacramental,Atlanta,Bridgeport or Columbus, Ohio or indeed Zambia, opportunities are everywhere. And understanding finance is not your preserve but open to any committed person through school or life battles.Stop dreaming that your US $ 78K figure is heaven on earth and all opinions have no place.Until you get to know that we have Zambians in the diaspora and at home turning extreme end 6 figures holding multiple high level professional degrees, humility may break you.

  54. #87.Zed1,

Capitalism comes with disparities you cannot holistically get clear out. There n your Dallas,TX i have no doubt you have the extremel power street pulpers so are the extreme rich in both business and Politics.Politics is not a preserve of the poor only.Let HH, Geore Chabwera,Mangani Phiri,Austin Chewe stay in politics and enjoy their assets.Go to New Kasama, Chalala,Lusaka east, Lusaka West, beyond Kabanana,Ngwerere and Kasupe.See the real hectarage Mansions there all built on Cash basis not the 15-30 year mortgages.See the fleet of automobiles parked on those estates bought with hard cash while you are battling with car notes.Economic variances is not suppose to limit people.

  55. How can u slash the maize of people?it’s a shame to have such a municipal counsel in govt. They must know how to deal with issues. That maize would have helped zambians during time of food shortage.Awe mwatusebanya ba councl ba ku cipata.People are trying to grow food and u’re just busy slashing them. Are u crazy?

  56. Kuku; you are justifying that politics is an enterprise to enrich oneself @ the expense of our country. It is ridiculous of you to think that ppl like Teta could have afforded a Lexus just 3 years ago- becoz they could not- out of their own enterprise, that Lexus is driven @ the expense of a mother dying due to the lack of healthcare. Capt Chewe is in private business and let his hardwork pay off with his MB Mclaren. Your reasoning is very simple minded- one I certainly expect from an hourly wage fella. FYI- though irrelevant, my 78K is base salary- not including bonus. I am shooting for 250K in the next 5 years- so do not be mistaken that I have limited capability. Go do some overtime pls.

  57. Kuku; PS I am incensed by fellas like you who learn from entertainment magazines, and MTV on how life should be-quoting me car prices you cannot afford-goddamn!. I was in Zambia 9 months ago and it the picture there is bad. Come down to earth and stop reading your magazines on cars you cannot afford. Make the money then start looking at them- that is the advice I’ll leave with you. And yes the truth hurts doesn’t it?

I am out ofhere good luck Kuku.

  58. # 99.Zed1,

Though you dress yourself with dollar value, i regret to categorically believe that you have a poverty mentality. You argue on the premise that irrespective of hardwork and vestures, there must never be social class or mobility in politicians. To you politics must be strictly for the poor, if rich don’t enjoy wealth whil in power. And by the way, who told you that there is no big money in hourly wages and self entreprises? What of a Software engineer, anesthesiologist,Physiotherapists,Registered Nurse,Pathologist,Quality surveyor,Tax specialist and such pulling US $45,50,70 or $80 per hour don’t make good money but salarized you? I wonder your level of finance expertise.

  59. Here is LT,this initiative is viable for big dollar value annually. They don’t need a monthly salary to be in 6 figures. If and only if more effort is added to the initiative, they are millionaers in making. Do you expect them to stay static at the level of their entry unless they pull salaries? Teta has over 3 years now been the owner of Mansa milling feeding luapulans.Don’t see him making money out of that investment. You plough money to make big money.Mangani has been in the money.let him drive a car of his choice.Yours is poverty mentality of once poor, always poor.

  60. I foresaw this coming.I can squarely blame the local authorities for their preemptive action.Matters of food security should not be treated irrationally as was the case with the Chipata DC and his colleague Bwana Town Clerk.

Mangani should be the last person to complain for he failed to come to the rescue of his constituents and feel for him for he wont retain his seat,I know the people of Chipata Central. Matthew Mwale(FDD) will can attest on how these voters make a politician redundant.Hard luck Mangani.

  61. #22 your are right, why are they slashing people`s maize in the midst of hunger? Why cant government deal first with major challenges facing the country rather than slashing people`s fields. Zambians are known to be peacefull and loving people and for them to reach to this extent of even wanting to slash the president`s field it must have been painfull. After all they voted for RB, now they can reap what they planted.

  62. Morning all!!! :)>-

No comment on this topic. I said so much on it the other day. Just that, personally i support the council over the slashing of the maize! we need order. Chapwa!

  63. Chewe,
This is for you and you alone. I never meant to spill all that on you but I lost my ‘cool’ as I felt it was just too much of you commenting unnecessarily & personalising issues especially torwards me.. Nevertheless your apology is accepted and ‘accept mine’too. If you want to discuss further, get me on [email protected]. I will always remain your sister.. No hard feelings from me to you.. We are all Zambians. Lets love one another and respect each other’s feelings. Feel free to contact me anytime. **==**==:)]<:-p<:-p

  64. Its a relief they didn’t do it coz his extended family badly needs the corn. I don’t think the president in his state of drowsiness would like a meal of nshima coz it would cause him to snow big time wherever he may be.

Yeah. Bring them on…….whether Fatah, Hizbollah, Hamas, Taleban you name it. By God their ass will bleed. The mighty army of king David will triumph over them all. Out to Gaza and Southern Lebanon to count the casualties

  65. Not all animals are equal.

    Nyama is above others

Its more than 9 months since this animal became pregnant I wondering if it won’t be a caesarian.
    :d/

  66. #64,
I extend my gratitude to you for your concern about Chewe. He has my brotherly love from me(his big sister). I have heard his plea and we should be on a new page now.. I will never cause such pain on anyone again. All I can beg from you is to encourage others not to personalize jokes to the wrong people, generalising is fine..
Anyone not sure of my gender, email me on [email protected]
    Cheers,
I have to rush to work now.. :)>-:)>-**===d>

  67. The bottom line is that someone has not been proactive. What happened to public awareness campaigns? Why leave people to plant and let the maize grow and then slash? Doesn’t make sense!!! There should have been a deliberate awareness campaign to educate the people about the dangers of planting maize in residential areas before it was planted. Its like a husband sits and watches a wife cook nshima using kerosene which she does not understand the health impacts and then after she has finished, husband throws the nshima and explains that kerosene is poisonous. Now thats a waste of meal meal and energy.

  68. Guys am so happy LT is doing a great job check out # 83 on the Topic authorities Confisicate mealie meal bought by Zimbabwean businessman…..

    Thanks LT you the BEST

  69. No. 120 Princes vayola, thanks for letting us know. To LT we will always appreciate your good work, please keep it up. =d>

  70. Some people are more important than others. Some are VIPs. Some VVIP, and others are VVVIP. I am a VVVVIP in the eyes of my Lord

  71. Sister, there are no people who are more important than others. Thats a very flawed and archaic social stereotype phenomenon. Some people are more previledged than others thats all. And even the previledges are never endowed for a life time, they usually are temporal such as weilding power in the public arena. Those priviledges usually vanish and people revert to the street. Research has shown that those who become CEOs not in family businesses usually die as paupers on the street especially when they can not even keep up appearances. Build a family business legacy and let it run from generation to generation, you might keep the priviledges going for a longer time. Questions?

  72. #128 Thanks. Actually I meant to say “Some people THINK they’re more important than others. You’re right some people are just more previleged than others. In Gods eyes, we are all VVVVVVVVIPs. Thanks once again.

  73. Hill farming is practiced all over the world. If you live in a hilly area, you still have to plant. We have hundreds if not thousands of Agricultural Extension workers all over the country who should advice people in such areas on HOW to practice hill farming correctly.

Even at primary school they taught us all about terrace farming and the like. No pressure, let them grow their crops on the hills. Just teach and supervise.

  75. Cutey/wifey, i can see that you are on fire today. im just busy sorting out the war issue on Gaza cause my relatives are finishing like chickens

  76. #134,

I was on fire/upset a few days ago..
    Manje nili che…

The Gaza story is biblical, good luck on that one…. [-o<[-o<[-o<[-o<[-o<[-o<^:)^^:)^^:)^^:)^:-w

  77. What the council did was a by-pass of the law in my view.
There was no need to destroy food security for those people.
I think that if waht was commited was a suspected offense then those people should have been charged other than have their maize slashed.
Like others have said before, this was misapplication of geographical principles and in most cases you find some of these hillsides bear, and agricultural practices across these hills would even be more helpful to preservation of the landscape/hill than to leave it unattended to.
If the farmers were planting along the hills instead of across, then all they needed was guidance on the farming practice. Otherwise the officer must be charg

  78. Zambians guyz u becoming shallow minded, complaining on who is driving what, hey that nonsense. If Kaponyaz can drive Mark 11.What can stop the Zambian elite to drive Bentleys. Please contribute better things, than who is wearing what type of G-String or 007 Bamba.Work Hard and buy yours.I was impressed when i visited last December to see our own driving GREAT VEHICLES.WORK HARD.

  79. Let the people slash nyama soya’s maize field there is nothing wrong with that after all he doesn’t even buy mealie meal that maize is just for leisure while those farmers whose maize were slashed is what they depend on as their food and someone just goes on to slash their maize it is a pity any way everyone shall die one day it doesn’t matter wheather rich or poor, with all the previleges or not will all go back to the soil so mind the way you treat others.

  80. Slashing of the president’s maize as a reaction does not solve any problem instead it simply adds another unrully behaviour.
What must be done is to question the authorising officer as to why he did not prosecute the suspected offenders instead of slashing their maize which was not a solution to the issue at hand.

  81. #10. Chinsali Inc
There is nothing wrong with an MP driving a Hummer, everyone who works hard can buy what they can afford so the MP bought what he could afford,he probably became a rich man before standing as MP like most MP’s who are well known in their local areas,it’s rare that a poor unknown man would stand as an MP moreover Zambia has changed completely, even youngsters are driving vehicles we thought would never reach Zambia in a thousand years. The revival of the mines brought with it success stories for a lot of people especially on the copperbelt that is why suppliers & contractors to the mines oppose the nationalization of mines, there is money in Zambia,it’s just mismanagement.

  82. What the Police should have done is stop the farmers or residents from planting the maize in the first place,it is illogical & folly to let people spend money on cultivation then destroy their produce without giving them compensation or alternative land to do their farming,in effect the loss of those farmers is loss to the nation as harvests will be affected so expect more importation of maize next season because of irrational decisions by the councils.

  83. Zambia is full of irrational people. Its a poor country but with plastic life.
Thats why the chipata councilor chose a motor bike instead of a clinic.
Thats Zambia guys…every person wants to be seen ati niba pa mwamba.
If you cant stop this nosense Zambia will remain in the 1100 century. Wake up guys ..first develop the nation then after enjoy life. this is what our friends in the developed world did and now they are enjoying. Did God sure curse Zambia??? >:d<>:d<>:d<>:d<>:d<8-x8-x8-x

  84. mmmmmmm been enjoying your postings but first nikadyeko bevula, maybe yama insides, with vegetable mix (bondwe/chibwabwa/impwa/nshaba). #:-s**==

  85. I think someone has misled bloggers, its not a Hummer as in vehicle that the residents damaged in Chipata. Todays ‘Times of Zambia’ says it was a ‘hammermill’. So the discussion of types of vehicles MPs drive in Zambia should end, it should be replaced by the ‘quality of millie meal they grind’!!!!
