Share

Wednesdays semifinal places of the inaugural CHAN tournament currently taking place in Cote d’Ivoire are complete with two former African champions making the cut.

Zambia and Senegal, recent Africa Cup silver medalists in 1994 and 2002, will face two-time winners DR Congo  and four-time  African champions Ghana in the semifinals respectively.

Ghana crushed DR Congo 3-0 on Sunday to finish top of Group B while the latter still qualified to the semifinals on 4 points, one better than undefeated Zimbabwe who completed their three games on as many points.

Zimbabwe finished scoreless against Libya in the other final Group B match.

Zambia will take on DR Congo in Abidjan at 18:00 Zambian time while Ghana and Senegal face-off in the CHAN West African derby in Bouake on the same date.

The CHAN final will be played in Abidjan on March 8 while the 3rd and 4th place will be played in Bouake on the 7th.

    • Its good that tata, you are now supporting the boys, mwalibapontela sana before they even kicked the ball in the tournament . Thanks for the support from senior diasporians like Nine Chale ,Go Zambia Go

    • Though this is not a topic, I still feel sad about Africa “The land of vernomous snakes, rigged elections, croc’s, poverty, lions and now assasinated presidents” Well the circus continues.

  1. Well I did not give them hope, they vindicated me by playing below par levels in the ;last two games. Good luck this game against Congo DR. In the Midst of comfusion in thier camp,DRC can shook you, Zambia be warned. Congo could have lost by 3 – 0 but against Zambia it is always a tough call. Our Top scorer should rise to the occassion or Mputu the Congolese striker will bang in goals past our keeper.

  2. I hope we can lift this cup and have something to smile about as a country. We have too much negative reports.

  3. My anger is vented againest ZNBC. How could they fail to screen the Zambia vs Tanzania game live? They behaved like they were showing it live wen we knew that game was played at 18hrs.Shame on u ZNBC. I hope it will not be the case on Wednesday or else as jerabos we will take the law in our own hands.

  4. We hope these guys will bring the CUP home. We are waiting while shouting chipolopolo iyee. Don’t let us down. Not now pliz.

  5. The CHAN final will be played in Abidjan on match 8 while the 3rd and 4th place will be played in Bouake on the 7th. What is match 8, is it the date or the number of the match??

    • Major pleaaaaaaase be charitable to people making errors. Its jus a typographic error. You know they meant March 8, remember this is for Mahala, right? Go chipolopolo go. ‘First they ignore you, then they mock you, then they favour the other team, then you win’, Two thumbs, congrats boys.

    • Its good Kizito you are not anywhere near my boys to discourage them. I wonder what kind of defeats you would be suffering if you were a player yourself, with your defeatist mentality. You don’t know that those teams its Chipolopolo they are also scared of. We never lost a game, never conceded a goal(apart from the diramba thing). And you boys don’t even understand ball to hand, do you?

  6. Let’s go Zambia, Let’s Go! Getting to the Semi finals was not easy, 4 teams did not make it! Infact a whole lot of other teams did not even make it to the competition…..! Let’s go boys, we can do it! The country is behind you! ZAMBIA FOR LIFE!!!!
