MMD national chairman Michael Mabenga is flanked by party cadres when he was interviewed by reporters on Father Frank Bwalya

Ruling Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) national chairman, Michael Mabenga has urged former Catholic priest, Frank Bwalya to stop using the language that could perpetrate anarchy in the country.

Mr. Mabenga said father Bwalya is a man of God who should administer his duties as a true servant instead of him changing from priesthood to politician.

He said father Bwalya should speak for the voiceless instead of resigning from priesthood.

Mr. Mabenga, who reiterated that he has been a catholic all his life, bragged that he understands the social teachings of the Catholic Church which include teaching members self reliance.

Mr. Mabenga said that people presenting their opinions in the letters to the editor in newspapers should also beware of what they write about, adding that they should get their facts right.

Mr. Mabenga said the social teachings of the church have nothing to do with politics, noting that people supporting father Bwalya might also be among those perpetrating anarchy in the country.

He said the Catholic Church is orderly in the manner it administers duties and if there are pertinent issues in church, parish leaders are informed and matters are resolved amicably.[quote]

He said there is no need to bring trouble in the nation because people should exercise their freedom of expression.

He was reacting to a letter to the editor in one of the daily papers which alleged that he had been hiding in the name of Catholic Church to perpetrate injustice.

  1. Mabenge wants a job. Father spoke for the voiceless and politicians became uncomfortable and did everything possible to get rid of him. Shame on you politicians who can do anything just to keep a job in politics so that your long arms can continue stealing, one day u will be held accountable. Father Bwalya stood for the truth and can never be compared to you MABENGE.

  2. It has been confirmed that Castro Chiluba has died bane. Umwaice he should be making peace with his creator. He really troubled people at the height of his father’s presidency.

  3. Mabenga go back to whatever hole you crawled out of. We need diversity in potential leaders instead of recycling the same old sods. 2011 is around the corner and there’s absolutelely no reliable person to lead our country. Everyone is just chattering like confused monkeys in an empty maize field.

  4. People should be able to say whatever they like as long as they are not inciting violence. Personally, I think the priest is rather self -serving but he should excercise his right to free speech. I dont thik being a clergy man precludes him from that.

  5. Dunderheads like t”hat one” are easily diked by individual patriotic citizens.Government are too committed observing their signatures to conventions, Charters and treaties as state actors. They keep condoming dwaff like “that one”.Patriots quitly spend a full day over the weekend in Ngwerere, Lusaka West or Chilanga duking. Thank dwaff is very easy to case and duke. You just need one for a summary aim. What has happened to you guys. This can be a trainee simulation range.Could borrow you mine if need be

  6. Lets be wary of women and men of God -like Father Bwalya – who want to use the bible to join politics. The following have disapointed us so far (1) Gladys Nyirongo (2) Nevers Mumba (3) Dan ‘libido’ Pule (4) Ron Shikapwasha (5) Stan Kristopher

  7. Father Bwalya has the right to do whatever he wants with his life. Who is Mabenga to tell him what to do. Take your patronising attitude to your wife and children. And don’t forget that the spectre of the Constituency Development Fund will forever hang over your head. Go and confess your sin to your priest and hang your head in shame for once. You shameless man!

  8. Interesting that MMD is headed by people who are supposed to be in jail. Mabenga, kalumba, RB etc

  9. Much as Iam in support of Bwalya quitting the priesthood and coming out as what he is,Mabenga is not the right person to talk about this coz he himself is wanted by the courts of law for various charges ranging from corruption, rigging, using CDF for his compaign, name them.In short this man is evil in the face of Zambia.

  10. Mr Mabenga, your MMD has double standards, what about people like Nevers Mumba who your president has sent into foreign mission? Father Bwalya has a right to an opinion as a citizen…he speaks for the scared many. Tell Nevers Mumba to go back to his church.

  11. Mabennga should keep quiet, the MMD Leadership is so corrupt they have to go out of themselves to find a presidential candidate, Chiluba had to fish out LPM from his private practice and the NEC had to pick un elected Unip member RB for the last election, I wonder what next after RB! THEY spend too much time talking about their perceived enemies and do so very little for the public, if they concentrated on delivering on their campaign promises they would exonerate themselves tothe public.

  12. Ba Chale be humble; and please avoid sweeping statements! Icibote lushinga; ifyakulanda landa nga ba Zambian politician tafyawama!!! Lesa amupaale.

  13. Mabenga is the type of leader many Zambians prefer.Shame on you all! The Priest speaks the truth but many of you like prefer these criminals, bakabolala, what crime did Nevers commit? Does being a priest make one blind and deaf to every day realities? If Fr. Bwalya is far better than HH with lots of money but cannot speak for the suffering masses.Zambia is not a Christian nation,it satanic.I say this because their is nothing Christian about the Zambian way of doing things.Kalumba is a thief and wizard,RB chilalelale and corrupt, its like the more bad your record the more you are prefered by voters!

  14. #23, stop being emotional, actually from your statement it is clear that you know very little about Michael Mabenga. The man plundered western province resources when he was provincial minister over there. Who does not know how corrupt he was, he was appointing only his relatives to some council positions in the province…What are you talking about?
Mabenga should not be telling Fr. Bwalya to shut up, because he is the one that needs to be quiet. If Mabenga wants Bwalya to be quiet, what about Nevers Mumba who also deserted his church and went into politics…be objective and get your facts right be4 starting to rant and rave!

  15. Mabenga knows little about priesthood, Fr. Bwalya is still a priest by virtue of his ordination, He is not in active service at the moment. He can still come back to active service at any moment if he does not take up political office or marry officially in the catholic church. The Catholic Church has it own law called canon Law. Its accessible on internet if you want to know the exact status of Fr. Bwalya.

  16. Mabenga is a hypocrite. He was quiet when the MMD in Kitwe were threatening to spill Fr. Bwalya’s blood if he went ahead with his planned program on radio Icengelo. If that is not anarchy, what is it kansi? Mabenga should shut his mouth up. We have not forgotten that he was found guilty of stealing CDF. Give us a break!

  17. I am in full support of MMD Chairman Bo-Mabenga for his “Mr. Mabenga said the social teachings of the church have nothing to do with politics, noting that people supporting father Bwalya might also be among those perpetrating anarchy in the country“. This important message is what characters of all backgrounds MUST understand as opposed to being cheated by some so-called fathers or priests.

I hope this good spirit of informing the Zambian Nation will continue by the GRZ and MMD catholic church member leaders like Minister of Justice, Vice President, George Kunda (LLB) and MMD National Chairman Micheal Mabenga.

Long live and may our God, the Creator, bless you mightily.
To Mr Frank Bwalya, please see if you can challenge the Undereducate Michael Sata for PF president.

  18. Mungungulu aka Maestro Hhehhehhehhe. I am surprised that Sata is giving you sleepless nights even when you are miles away from Zed. You are feeling the heat, eh? The big man is not even a subject of this discussion. I think your contributions can only be valuable in outer space, Mr. self-proclaimed space physicist

  20. 30 monalisasyndrome greetings and have a benign day. I am just offering my support to Mr Frank Bwalya (Theology?, Catholic University?) to try the PF presidency seeing that the CB Provinces PF cadres’ choice MP Chishimba Kambwili has chickened out of the PF presidential race while his well educated friend MP Saviour Chishimba (Doctor?, ?) has welcomed the calls of the said cadres. In light of this, I am motivating another Bemba man in the name of Mr Frank Bwalya who has made a surprising political impact on the CB to try his luck. Mr Frank Bwalya (Theology?, Catholic University?) has a potential of taking up the leadership of PF and attempting the Country Presidency in 2011. I need to see the comedy in Poor Finishers to continue daily so that I can have laughter. Bonsoiree.

  21. let the guy express himself, who knows maybe he is still discovering himself. if bwalya turns out to be a politician, well and good, it is high time we had young and competent politicians who will redeem our nation from the rule of old damn folks like mukulu mpuno! Viva Bwalya!!!

  22. 31 continued.
With these few words above, I hope you will understand my position. Otherwise, I wish all Poor Finisher members and cadres all the best in their lives.

  23. Chatholics too big for their pants?? Ba Chale benifye bwino. Follow Christ’s teachings properly. Father Bwalya was not for himself like Mabenga who could abuse CDF.

To Mabenga I say: Those who speak for the poor are blessed and not anarchists as you you always want to portray them. Those who abuse public funds (CDF especially) in the name of the name of people or popular leadership are the rotten bad ones.

  24. Zed is doomed if we all start thinking like Rocket Scientist Maestro(31-33). Let us be serrious about Zed.

  25. Freedom of speach when you still have to pay for talk tym and pay phone bills ka??
Trust none of them………..big up LT!!!!!

  26. Father Bwalya has really become a thorn in the MMD govt’s flesh. The only reason that Mabenga and gang would think that the Father is inciting anarchy in the country is because there might be an element of truth to what he is saying and it scares them that people will realize this. Fr. Bwalya has taken leave from his priestly duties and rather than spend precious time, analyzing his every move, Mabenga and company should focus on trying to fix the problems of the economy and let THOSE results speak for them.

  27. 36 Mbo Sam you wrote Those who abuse public funds (CDF especially) in the name of the name of people or popular leadership are the rotten bad ones” nice on 34, but forgot to include the seriousness of abusing church funds and authority for private political ambitions.
Now, I am surprised you are mentioning “Zed is doomed if we all start thinking like Rocket Scientist Maestro(31-33). Let us be serrious about Zed.“.

In light of the above issues, what do you really stand for? What thinking have I portrayed in a retrogress manner for Zambia as a country and nation? What seriousness do you imply?

What is wrong about MMD National Chairman Mabenga’s words?
Kindly respond to my humble queries, bo-Mbo sam.

  28. # 16, What i mean in # 12 is as clear as it can be picked. I’m saying nowhere is everyone’s freedom absolute but relative. Even in successful democracies like the USA and India Fifth Columns” ducking exists. From the sixtees to present Hoover and dedicated patriotic citizens purpetuated the ducking of pro-communists and today its the T tag. Even in Zambia fIndividual patriots who feel this Die Zambia crap sectarianism is rubbish could sole plan to duck this daft reprobate the vatican style.Individual patriots are better placed to aim a rehearsed one with precision till history. This would not be the first time in the world.Rome has experts.Let Die Zambia go to hell by itself. Its a cult movement in the lines of Uganda’s John Koni’s LRM,Japan’s train end time Cult and Mama Alice…

  29. Rocket Scientist Maestro Hhehhehhehhe - ndeezwa ku-musanza for Zambians in the 2011 tripartite National elections Rocket Scientist Maestro Hhehhehhehhe - ndeezwa ku-musanza for Zambians in the 2011 tripartite National elections

May the ‘Die Zambia’ nonsense die a natural death and Poor Finishers continue to finish poorly.

  30. Mama alice Lenshina(Zambia), Jim Jones (USA) and your Dies Zambia are fanatic cults on the same wave length.

  31. Imwe breaking news:

Castro Chiluba, son of former president Fredrick Chiluba has passed away.

Accordingly to Zambian media reports monitored by UKZAMBIANS, Castro,33, died at UTH in Lusaka.

“Castro died this afternoon (Tuesday) after being rushed to UTH this morning” says the reports.

Castro was known to have been on treatment in the past few months. Dr. Chiluba lost another of his sons, Tito, Two years ago.

  32. God I need to ask you , I know you are everywhere. Why do men and women of the collar misuse the pulpit? And why do politicians instill FEAR in the masses, when all there are saying is but lies, since Fear is F=False,E=Evidence,A=Appearing ,R=real. God Who shall be the Leader of the good country Zambia come 2011? certainly not RB, not MC and not HH, for they have one common trait greediness

  33. Why God……………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

  34. Yes Einstein said , where did the Universe come from ?….. God he asked ? Zambian scene MMD where did it come from ? PF and UPND where did they come from ? thinkers did and ,mercenaries took over

  35. iwe chi Mabenga the Priest speaks the truth but many of you hate facts and truth. do you need a job fro RB ?

  36. Who spoke grammatically at LPM `s funeral , The teacher called Bo muluti ,and that was the best speech……..By Michael Mabenga , we are what we are, because our teachers bo muluti…. mabenga

  37. Evil …… Yes evil it is ,We do not need the axis of Evil……………….As bush said

  38. Hehe #31. dangerously cynical. What is wrong with theology/catholic university. You appear to have unfulfilled desires about your Church and political party, hence the apparent hate for institutions outdoing you. Irony is not enough, you just have to do more on your part .

  39. What’s wrong guys?Tell me. I have been in public ministry and I know all these things. Leave Fr. Bwalya alone and concetrate on the problems of the country.

  40. Zambia has 9(nine ) provinces with over 73 tribes and uniquely four languages who shall be the leader/? Not HH the destroyer, not MC the snake ,not RB the betrayer ,yet whom ?Not the priest though, yes ,I repeat not the priest………………

  41. Could someone tell me anything wrong with what Fr. Bwalya has been adovocating since he became a public figure? Please give me points!!!!

  42. Nullity , there are three parties which are well established , let the young from MMD, UPND and PF choose a young leader and become a true leader of Zambia….. Not MC, RB nor HH these are mercenaries …

  43. Thandiwe Banda went to the Doctor’s office to collect her husband’s test results. The receptionist says, “I’m sorry, madam, but there has been a bit of a mix-up and we have a problem. When we sent the samples from husband to the lab, the samples from another Mr. Banda were sent as well and we are now uncertain which one is your husband’s. Frankly, that’s either bad or terrible.” Thandiwe says, “What do you mean?” The receptionist replies, “Well, one Mr. Banda has tested positive for Alzheimer disease and the other for AIDS. We cannot tell which one is your husband.” Thandiwe exclaims, “That’s terrible! What am I supposed to do now?” The receptionist calmly replies, “The doctor recommends that you drop your husband off in the middle of Kuomboka and if he finds his way…

  44. The young man from Kwacha (Fr Bwalya, umwishikulu wa baPandawe) is causing big people such as Mabenga fill up their pants with the smelly stuff. Mwandi mwaice, you have our support.

  45. FTJ and Regina arrive at Chimbokaila having lost all cases and had their bail revoked and the Regina tells her Kafupi, “Honey, I know nothing of this, can you help me, please?” “I will honey, starting from this instant, we will call your thing the prison and my thing we’ll call the prisoner, so we will put the prisoner in the prison.” And they throw the first one. FTJ is laying face up on the bed, but the Regina was delighted and tells FTJ, “Love, the prisoner is outside the prison!” FTJ from political and legal engineering with Levy, Sata and Nchito but very delighted tells her, “Let’s put him into the prison another time!” After the second Regina is very happy and she tells Kafupi, “Honey! The prisoner is out again!” FTJ rises and they throw the third! He is on the bed,…

  46. But Fr Bwalya has become a threrat to MMD this is good we need 5 of Fr Bwalya’s type to put the govt in pressure at the end they will perform..

  47. … exhausted and FTJ says, “Honey, the prisoner escaped again!!!” And FTJ answers, “HEY! It’s not life imprisonment Judge ebele ai!!”

  48. Shaka that is interesting to say the lest and poetry of the highest order, how imaginative you are shaka zulu………………………

  49. Ati ba Fr Fluke Bwalya. Kids on this blog thinks he is a messiah. No he is nothing but a ranting imbecile. Zambia does not belong to the catholic church. While they have the rite to voice out their concerns they should also know that others have a rite to voice out their concern against them. These imperialist church want to behave like colonial masters who enslaved in the pretext of Christianity and civilization. Fluke Bwalya has been preaching violence here on CB. If he is serious about his call why can’t behave like De jong did or the other father at mission, or Fr spaita, press. This gentle men have been ardent critics of evil not just in govt but in all sectors of our nation. They have never associated with a political party.

  50. Shaka write enough and sensibly….the young shall rule Zambia for it belongs to the young Zambians……

  51. I speak the truth only but the truth , so Zambia shall be ruled by a Zambian…….Not HH, Not RB nor MC

  52. How were the three parties formed MMD, PF and UPND formed , yes people thought and genuinely so ….

  53. Mabenga is a liar. There is no Social Teaching of the Catholic Church which has nothing to do with politics. In fact, the social teaching of the Church is closely knitted with the fight against all forms of injustice including politics. Once again, a leader has shown ignorance at its highest level. Let those who are supporting Fr. Bwalya not be cowed by ignorant people like Mabenga. I wonder why Fr. Bwalya has become such an issue when there are big issues like unemployment and high levels of poverty in Zambia today. I even wonder which anarchy Fr. Bwalya can cause apart from the fact that Zambians will soon rise against a government that has failed lamentably. MABENGA, KEEP OFF WITH YOUR DIRTY LIES and let Zambians demand what they deserve from a government that has failed.

  54. Zambian For Life #70, you are 100% correct! Fr Bwalya is not an issue. I dont even understand why all this fuss over the man. Voice of the voiceless? Just how many people have we had/do we have in this country who have/are spoken/speaking out for the voiceless? If anything Late Dean Mun’gomba was THE voice of the voiceless! Speaking out for the wrongs that were being committed cost him his life. Mabenga should just shut up and concentrate on improving the lives of hie fellow countrymen. Infact, he needs to present himself first before the courts of law before he starts yapping.

  55. Ba LT,where is yo problem?Why are u not posting my comments,i thot 2days a brand new day….Behave yoself,i know u belong 2this F-o-o-l-s party,MMD,but freedom of expression mwaiche epoyaba pa zambia.Watch out papa

  56. #71,He is on leave and can do anything now even marry if he wishes. He was suppose to go for studies abroad but he chose to do what he likes (Politics). But if he remains single he may reapply to continue serving as a Father possibly after he

  57. # 65 Twachula pafula . You sound as if you are coming out of coma n you have been detached from the world of the living. You are right Zambia does not belong to Catholics but you seem to be lost, what is wrong when somebody says; there is no medicine in hospitals, pensioners have not colected their money, that despite people voting for them they are still living in poverty. At no time did Fr Bwalya preached violence here in the CB. It is you chaps from MMD who were preaching bloodshed and you wanted to blame the innocent person who was only reminding you of your injustices. There is too much government expenditure in the middle of the Global recession. Your government n RB has got no focus. Be objective iwe # 65 before you call someone an imbicile we shiluwe

  58. Anyway, since my postings relating to the topic at hand are not being aired,i will divert…..Nway a very big congratulations to all MAN U fans,u put up a flamboyant performance last nite but munasheko boasting guys……Meanwhile Zoe will “never walk alone”

  59. #72 Ba Moze Ati bwa? I agree with you on Dean.He was truly a voice of the voiceless.Mabenga is not in a position to castigate Fr Bwalya but i endorse what he did(quit the priethood and conyinue his cause outside the church as a private citizen and not using our church to compaign for some party) coz the church is now aware of such characters. He belongs to likes of Fernando Lugo(former Bishop and now president of paraguay).Haiti’s Aristide etc. They all began like him and the church is now not taking chances.

  60. #65 Twachula Pafula,it indeed takes one to know the other, for u to spot the imbecility in Fr Bwalya automatically indicates that equally u are…..

  61. Mabenga is the one to be questioned. In a democracy it is always important to have people that can challenge the leadership. Just found out you can post comments on Zambian Watch Dog as well. But its much more exciting here. News ya pa watchdog ni 2 paragraphs chabe. I guess they are still learning the trade.

  62. Father Bwalya listen son “The most essential factor is persistence – the determination never to allow your energy or enthusiasm to be dampened by the discouragement that must inevitably come from this government which does not care from its own,we need a voice that awakes those that are sleeping.Let it be known that Permanence, perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacles, discouragement, and impossibilities: It is this, that in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak.Roll on Soldier, you got some gat damn it guts in you ,you are soooo stup!d in thoughts, dont let them under handle you if they cant understand you.

  63. The issue of Fr Bwalya being involved in politics must not be something that could rise dust p zed basa. As far as iam concerned whosoever is a living being is a politician-look church leaders do use the pulpit to convert sinners to come to jesus just as politicians would use whatever could be their platforms to pull masses to choose them during the elections.
    Politics is life bane.

  64. We living in a corrupt system where churche men eat on the same time as politician. It’s al about the benjemins and promince at the end of the day.

  65. tricks of the trade so it called and it has failed Zambia ,only the truth and the genuine will save Zambia……………………….In jail they shall be ,central prison of Zambia

  66. Excuse me honorable bloggers……let’s put Fr. Bwalya’s “priesthood” aside and look at what he has altered thus far…are things okay? Let’s be objective. I dont’t care whether Bwalya is Catholic or not (though he is), but look at the direction our beloved country is heading to……..don’t we need some caution? PULIZI NAPAPATA.

  67. Our concentration should not be on religion, but on issues that affect our country. Frank is just one of us….we should judge him on merit not on religion……some comments here seem to be based on religion….which is somewhat trivial.

  68. Sharp Shooter, guess thats true. For me it clear Fr Bwalya is PF! Kulanda fye.

Abena Smoke!! Whats up my nigger?

  69. There is nothing wrong with Father Bwalya resigning from from priesthood. The problem with our politicians like Hon. Micheal Mabenga is they overreact whenever other pipo want to advance their political ambitions. What these MMD are doing by reacting to father Bwalya’s comments is simply building his image. Countrywide now father Bwalya is known than some ministers. Let father Bwalya talk and if he has his own following on Copperbelt then good for him. The problem on the Copperbelt needs honesty handling by MMD, there is alot of unemployment on Copperbelt and the Urban area is pro PF . The MMD should not burry its head in sand instead should reorganise its structure there and recruit more members. The more they talk about Fr. Bwalya the more they distance themselves from masses.

  70. #43 Mirriam, thanks for the info booo and its good to see you back ,Castro rest in peace, the last time I saw him was when he was begging a packet of shake shake in Ndola, life got the young buck strapped, he is one of those people who would be enormously improved by death.Where life is more terrible than death, it is then the truest valor to dare to live.

  71. #89.Fr bwalya could have been fighting for a noble cause but on what platform? The catholic Church has a line of command and any member found to be propagating message bent on dividing the church is dealt with accordingly within the church ranks. It is a fact that Fr Bwalya’s cause is political hence it has to be outside the church otherwise the church will be accused of aligning with some political party which is against what our church stands for.

  72. I don’t agree that the pulpit should not be used to enlighten people about politics. The problem with Christians is that we are so ready to judge that sometimes we even forgo objectivity. Look, you can’t talk about the spirit without talking about the body. The body is in the spirit and the spirit is in the body full stop. Remember Jesus feeding the 5000? Why couldn’t he just have told people to go away hungry since he had fed them spiritually with the word? His point was:You can’t separate spiritual matters from matters that affect your body. You can’t separate the Church from politics. Politics are simply an organization of life for a group or even a country. The Church should have a say otherwise it will be very irrelevant if it doesn’t address issues that affect its members…

  73. Iwe Moze,LT has rily goten to my last nerves, yesterday and 2day hes jus on me most of my comments are not been posted, propose kuli ine?Abipisha,i deserve somebody better………………..Wise-man fimofimo if neiither RB, MC nor HH shall rule in 2011 then u must be in support of Cosmo Mumba, LT or Lifwekelo fimofimo

  74. Three women, Mrs. Hichilema, Dr Sata and Mrs Mabenga. were sitting around throwing back a few drinks and talking about their love lives. Mrs Hichilema said, “I call my husband the dentist. Nobody can drill like HH does.” Dr Kaseba giggled like a spoiled child and confessed, “I call my King Cobra the miner because of his incredible shaft.” Mrs. Mabenga quietly sipped her “sikokiana sa 7 days” until her mbuya Mutinta Hichilema asked, “Say, what do you call Mabenga?” Sibeso Mabenga frowned and said, “The postman.” “Why the postman?” “Because he always delivers late, and half the time it’s in the wrong box.”

  75. The catholic church is a powerful institution, but like one blogger observed, some priests are using the church to advance their personal motives. Its no secret that we had Presidents in some countries coming from the priesthood. Not that its bad, but let people be open and sincere and not behave like Nevers Mumba, who had one foot in the church and one in politics. Now that Fr Bwalya is ‘on leave’, he is better placed to speak his mind out for the ‘voiceless’ (this term nayo).

  76. #100 well said what is the church?, the last LAZ in meeting Livingstone , what were the suggestions from the SDAs Lawyers? , so what is the Church ?

  77. Bwalya is a free citizen of Zambia to conduct himself in any manner he so wishes as long as it does not infringe on the rights of other or rather break any law. There is nothing he has done or said thus far which is not true. Maybe the system is angry with him because he is from near Zaire, since Chiluba, people from that part of the country are on the receiving end. See, Mabenga is issuing threats to Bwalya when he like Katele is supposed to be appearing before a court. If his name was Mubanga not Mabenga, you bet he would be gagged like a rabid dog!

  78. #102(Nullity).The platform does matter especially with the History that the catholic church has with some unscruplous priests, father, bishops as well as cardinals. What you should understand is that Fr Bwalya went off-track supporting some party of which everyone knows unless you are pretending or you just want to hear what you want to.Meanwhile the church has a nationwide following with different political affilations.Do you expect the church to keep quiet? Yes the church and politics are inseparable why? coz they have same clients(people)but church has the responsibility to preach peace as well as denounce social injustice wherever it manifests.

  79. #107, I don’t know what the SDA lawyers suggested the Church should be. I know the Church from the writings of Paul in the New Testament (not from the LAZ meeting!) that it is the mystical body of Christ. I also know that Jesus mentions the Church in the Gospels only two times but he talks more on the Kingdom of God or of heaven. I also know that Jesus was 100% human and that he cared for the humanity of everyone (e.g. he healed the sick, fed 5000 people, he welcomed outcasts, he spoke against the rich who exploited the poor…). If the Church is the mystical body of Christ and if Christ is its head, then the rest of us should follow his example. We might not be able to do all these things but we can speak against all forms of injustice, support the weak and be voice for the voiceless!

  80. The easiest thing in politics is to oppose. It is even easier to oppose when people are disgruntled for any reason. It has been said that ‘a good surgeon knows how to operate, but the best surgeon knows when NOT to operate.’ A good politician is the one who looks to the long term and does not play to the gallery for cheap publicity and populist decisions. Funny thing is that most politicians run away from real decisions that would benefit the country because they would be unpopular. At this time, no one even remembers what the manifesto said. We elect politicians (hopefully) on the basis of their manifestos. To that, we should hold them to account.

  81. wiseman-reborn
Why do you write the way you do? Your writings sound like a stutter. Your sentences lack structure. A sentence should have a verb, subject and predicate, but yours seem to float into oblivion. I am sure you have good points to share but try and communicate them properly like people outside mental institutions do.

  82. #113, you speak very important words. I wish everyone on this blog could think like you. I am disgusted with this blog because, unlike you, most of them are arguing cheaply. I don’t know what has become of us, Zambians. We are ready to condemn innocent people and let the big culprits go scot free. Do most of the members on this blog know that miners on the Copperbelt are losing jobs? Do they know that RB promised jobs during his campaigns and that so far he has not even lifted a finger to fulfill them? I am surprised that we can perpetuate all this nonsense on the blog when we need to start thinking and realizing what is happening to our country.

  83. The Saint, naiwe siumvela. Ati his sentences lack shani? His sentences seem to float into finshi? And like people outside shani??? ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!! You have really tickled me my friend.

  84. Zambian For Life, there is no need to get upset mudala! Not every one can think like you. It is because of difference in opinion RB is President today. What you call “arguing cheaply”, is a way others present their views. People learn by listening to others and am sure some bloggers are seeing sense in what you are putting across. Relax mudala. Its all good.

  85. #113, Had what you are saying been the case, Zambian politicians will not be behaving the way they do. Before they ascend to power, these scums of the world will promise to bring the moon down to your door steps. Once they are in power, they just do ifyabo! Holding them to account will not change this breed of thieves whatsoever, what you need is people in this country to throw tribal bigotry out and stop electing thieves like Mabenga, Mwaanga and Katele etc, again and again! Teach a dog new tricks and breast yourself for an eternal wait, till the one from Nazareth called Messiah comes back, again.

  86. #116(Zambian for life says)
Having a different opinion on something does not amount to what you are referring as cheap argument rahter shows how opinionated you are and not ready to accept otherwise.Unfortunately Democracy is not like that.
    .

  87. Sharp shooter, do you call most of the comments on this blog “opinion”? Read through them and you’d think they are not even worth to be posted! Democracy, at the same time, does not entail saying whatever comings to your head. (Just read a few examples from this blog, #7, #41, #65, # 87, #115 To every freedom, there is responsibility and I think the same applies with democracy!

51, Akule-akenze greetings and following your “Hehe #31. dangerously cynical. What is wrong with theology/catholic university“, what is your problem with the English Langauge and punctuation? What is your level of formal education?

My thinking is that “I am just offering my support to Mr Frank Bwalya (Theology?, Catholic University?) ” on #31 is very simple as a question mark, ?, indicates that I something is not clear and needs to be clarified or answered! In case this is still beynd your comprehension, what I mean is that I do not know what Mr Frank Bwaltya studied, say theology, and the university or college he attended, e.g. Gregorian University in Rome at the Vatican . Is this clear now? If not, ask someone who knows English to explain it to you or me.

  89. SHARP SHOOTER- A Catholic Priest cannot be shallow and dull. To train as a priest you have to have a full FormV certificate which will enable you to study at college while you do your theological studies(this takes up to 8 years). All priests are professionals( Fr Bwalya has a qualification in journalism- he was once Secretary for MISA Zambia and resigned on principle). My priest is an electronics engineer(UK trained). So dont show your own dullness, just discuss without insulting people you dont understand. Mabenga is complaining about foul language but its ok for MMD to do the same(like yourself). Without Unions, Catholic Church, the Post, MMD could not have removed Unip from power. Today you call them all sorts of names when they point out the wrongs being commited by your Gvt. Shame.

  90. This Bwalya priest is just a Bemba nationalist. He can say what he wants but he will fail because he wont be able to galvanize the whole country. His stance seems to be based on the hatred of Banda because he is from Eastern. Zambia has many problems but compared to other countries in Africa it is not that bad. There is no need to paint a harrowing picture that is simply not true. People like Mabenga should just be ignored. To me the main thing is that Bwalya is able to say what he wants as he entitled to. In other countries he would have been locked up by now and for that atleast as Zambians we can be proud and thankful.

  91. I hope this time around these shallow CB people will wake up and see this fake Priest for who he is. I doubt if he will an an inch of an ear outside the copperbelt. Bashi mine tulo, yaba!

  92. Father Barabas leading the uprising. Make sure all those children who were close to this fake Priest are examined for abuse. Just check if theior anuses have widened. If so, charge that fake Priest for abuse.

  93. I also feel that this Priest is motivated by Tribal bigotry. Just from nowhere at SATA is right ala. Just look at issues not churning out id!otic statements ala.

  94. 124 , 125, 126,127. I dont know if you are speaking freely or are MMD members who have to defend their party. But how do you feel? The minister of mines assures the nation that Mopani Mines will not retrench any miner and then the following day(yesterday) +1000 lose their jobs. Fr Bwalya may be a Catholic Priest(the church you seem to hate)but is here on the CB where people are losing jobs like a joke.

124, Mwana wa pa ngoma, I think you are on the spot. However, Zambia is a great democratic Nation under the MMD. Viva Mr Frank Bwalya for Poor Finishers as a presidential candidate.

126 Anonymous, the CB people are coming round and by 2011, I hope they will be in support of the winning team the mighty UPND.
Have a blessed day you all and take care.

  96. Mabenga just keep quiet and just be thankful that our rotten laws have spared you otherwise you should be in jail for corruption charges which you where found guilty of by the Supreme Court. No wonder characters like you are at the helm of the MMD leadership because you will do anything to cover up your filth you good for nothing man. Leave Frank Bwalya alone. He may have his own short comings but believe you me, you are far from being his equal, you carry filth and nothing else wherever you go and that why you want to smear your corrupt acts on anyone who comes your way. Dont smear the constitution uko ku NCC, we’l sort you out fwema patriotic Zambians.

  97. # 123 (Deja Vu).I dont understand your posting.Read through my postings and tell me where I have insulted Fr Bwalya or i was merely raising the issue of using the church as a political launch pad.I didnt say Fr Bwalya is dull or not a proffessional.Even my Prist here is an Economist but he does what he is required.I understand the procedures of being a priest and you attack on me is in bad taste. You are not even the least person to label me dull and I repeat that Fr Bwalya did what was required of him to do(Relinquish the priesthood and do his politics outside the church)

  98. # 123 (Deja Vu). i could have responded to you immediately but I went out.Iam also not shocked by your sentiments because its typical of PF cadres like you.Let me tell you,I have and never been MMD but during LPM I was impressed with the change of policies, something that your Sata lacks. There is nothing wrong about PF but there is everything wrong about your Sata.

  99. Deja Vu
You are very right. The most intellectual priests are Jesuits. Many of them could run you in circles with their intellect. While that may be admirable in the world it lacks the power that is needed to change lives because the first disciples were not formally learned but everyone took note that they had been with Jesus. The Catholic church fails to realise that ‘it is not by might, nor by power, nor by mass agitation, but by My Spirit,’ saith the LORD

  100. Maestro! You come out as a very dull chap who cannot believe his luck of studying in Russia. We in the UK are far more educated than you but we don’t insult people who are unfortunate not to have gone far with their book education.Education has proved that it doesn’t make good leaders e.g Dr Duvalier of Haiti,Abacha of Nigeria were all very educated by the book but they behaved just like Idi Amin with less book education. Most of you know theories but cannot do the actual thing.

  101. Iwe ka maestro what education is in russia only dull chaps go to russia under those uncompetative scholarships, from today onwards i suggest you shut your mouth cause you are the most undereducate we all know that.

  102. Maestro heheheh greetings. I pity you for being so blinded by a warped conviction that UPND will ever lead Zambia and your display of the worst misunderstanding of issues affecting people in Zambia today. I also fail to understand how on earth you can harbour such hatred for a party which is clearly gaining popularity among those directed and adversely affected by the failed policies of government. A friend has just returned from Chingola and the reality on the ground, the result of the retrenchments in the mines, makes very sad reading indeed.

I would not be surprised if you turned out to be from either the SDA or Watch Tower. Mabenga, though claiming to be a Catholic, and his fellow MMD cronies are the wrong persons to play moral judges. They stink with corruption, adultery, etc

  103. Ka father bwalya is just a villain with ulterior motives.are some people so wapped that they even fail to spot who a gold digger is.learn lessons of 1991 and stop turning villains into heroes.

  104. 137…. you know what ..Mugungulu Mwanga(Meastro) has that hatred specifcally for Sata due to the fact that despite Hakaivotela Humwine being highly educated is always a tail during ellections. So Mungungulu Mwanga is not happy at all. The other reason is that he hates Bembas because SDA-Bembas are marrying Tonga women in order o mancipate the from slavery. So Mwanga does not have Tonga ladies to marry …all are taken by Bembas.

  105. #134 The Saint. Thanx. I did not mean that Fr Bwalya’s is a factor. All I wanted was to enlighten some people who think that one goes for priest hood because they did not make it in Secondary School. Besides, the original deciples like Peter did not even write their Epistles themselves but only dictated to other people. But these Letters have actually influenced the world to day.

  106. Maestro#130, indeed you are a dreamer. Who cheated you that privatization kawalala – HH will win 2011 elections?? Come 2011, he will now come out 4th. This time around Heritage-General will perform better than him. You will come and agree with me. Your party is completely finished and Andy must be turning in his grave. This once mighty party is completely out of 2011 race.

135 Mulenga in Newcastle, your “Maestro! You come out as a very dull chap who cannot believe his luck of studying in Russia. We in the UK are far more educated than you but we don’t insult people who are unfortunate not to have gone far with their book education.” is very misplaced. I have never studied in Russia. Check my flag for I may just be your neighbour. Your overzealousness is caused your useless head to produce such terrible reasoning and hence to your to appreciate education.

141 KK, check your bad English writing “Maestro#130, indeed you are a dreamer. Who cheated you that privatization kawalala – HH will win 2011 elections?? Come 2011, he will now come out 4th..“. Very, very misplaced usage of English words. Interesting that you are a prophet and I hope you are not a FALSE PROPHET for using “Who cheated you that privatization kawalala – HH will win 2011 elections?? . Stop being emotional mani.

  109. Rocket Scientist Maestro Hhehhehhehhe - ndeezwa ku-musanza for Zambians in the 2011 tripartite National elections Rocket Scientist Maestro Hhehhehhehhe - ndeezwa ku-musanza for Zambians in the 2011 tripartite National elections

136 Digital Smoke, on your “Iwe ka maestro what education is in russia only dull chaps go to russia under those uncompetative scholarships, from today onwards i suggest you shut your mouth cause you are the most undereducate we all know that”“, why are you so blinded by haters? When did I ever study in Russia? Your suggestion is terrible and misplaced and keep it to yourself. Do you UNDERSTAND!

For your information, I give respect to the Russians and their education. They have managed to develop great things 40 yrs or so ago that the whole of EUROPE is just doing now in the 2000s. Check out their electrical engineering or space technology and you will agree with me. Ask yourself why Russian Engineers are appreciated by NASA and all space players and stop this nonsense.

137, Kwathukummawa thanks and with due respect, kindly prove your “ I also fail to understand how on earth you can harbour such hatred for a party which is clearly gaining popularity among those directed and adversely affected by the failed policies of government“.

Indeed you are right I am very SDA and if you need more help, ask and you shall be given as the holy Scriptures put it.

    Have a great day.

  111. #146 Maestro, since when did the SDA start commenting on politics? I thought they were too busy defending the Saturday Sabbath. Welcome aboard to the world of reality!

  112. Privatisation Kawalala HH will NEVER rule Zambia ! Not because he is Tonga but because ni kawlala, Kwiba during wateka not before. S.w.i.n.e flu !
