Ndola Catholic Priest fails to honour K10 million compensation fine

Share

A 44 year old Roman Catholic Priest of Ndola has pleaded guilty to contempt of court in the Chifubu Local Court.

Appearing before Local Court Judge Amos Paul Banda sitting with Rosemary Muke and Aaron Sugar Banda for plea, was Pamodzi Roman Catholic Parish Priest Father Davies of 42 Fitente road, Northrise, who pleaded guilty to the charge of contempt of court.

Public Prosecutor John Kabwe told the court that Father Nsama had failed to honour the courts directive of paying Charles Moto a compensation of K10 million in installments for having interfered in Mr. Moto’s Marriage earlier this year.

Mr. Kabwe said father Nsama had as at not paid the first installment of K4 million, which was due on May 10th 2009.

Mr. Kabwe applied for adjournment, as the complainant Charles Moto was not present in court.

Local Court judge Banda adjourned the matter to June 19 2009 for facts, after a further application by Father Nsama to adjourn the matter to a later date after June 15 2009 as that would be the day he would be released from a religious seclusion.

Father Nsama was earlier this year in April fined K10 million after he was found guilty of Marriage interference by the same court.

  1. This is what happens when you appoint human beings and treat them like christ when christ himself gave himself only for service. .

  2. it is not a special story….it is not issue at all. waste of time even to discuss or pass comments over the down fall of one man who has been caught. knowing that there are so many men doing almost what that man did… many fail everyday… these are just useless stories to waste time about…commenting as if we are the most innocent and most upright of all people. we are struggling to live our christian lives according to the gosoel.

  4. Since this gentleman took vows of celebacy, besides the fine the court should have included castration in the sentence.

  5. He is no longer “FATHER” for he has sinned. 10mK? Where is going to find it. Even the mutulo cannot suffice, besides our mutolo is not meant for nocturnal activities

May 27, 2009 at 10:28 pmWhy join religious service if you know you are active? Let Catholic preachers marry. ARE YOU SAYING THIS GUY WOULD COULD KEEP HIS JOHN INSIDE IF HE HAD A WIFE? NAY HE WOULD STILL BE GOING FOR OTHER PEOPLES WIVES EVEN THEN BECAUSE HE IS NOT AN HONEST MAN. HE TOOK OATH AT HIS ORDINATION TO OBSERVE CELBACY AND HIS BEHAVIOUR IS A BETRAYAL TO GOD AND ALL THOSE WHO WERE WITNESSES

  7. It is important in life for each one of us to be faithful to our vocations. We are called in different ways and none of each is special than the others. The Priest is a human being and has feelings just like you blogers, you also have a call, my question is are you living by your call? what this priest has done is exactly same with what some of you married men do by having girl friends when you have enough quantity of your wives. So never should you condem some one you have your own big load in your eye!
