Kalusha Bwalya’s video clip featured on Top Billing

Share

Editor’s Note:

The video was encoded at a high resolution and may load very slowly or even not load at all for people in Zambia that are on slow networks run by  most of the ISPs in Zambia. The only ISPs where you will be able to easily watch the clip are ZAMNET, if you are on their new fibre optic link, and the POST Newspaper run ISP. As for the rest good luck.

Yes you could load the video if you are on Africonnect and Zain ISPs, but these organisation use a billing method hell bent on making shareholders happy and perpetuating the digital divide agenda among Zambians. They cap your downloads and this video clip will certainly chew up a big chunk of your monthly cap on these networks. Sorry we had to say this. We just feel strong about this  issue and believe bandwidth capping is so stone age and stifles innovation in ICT industry on the Zambia market. Undoubtedly it fattens the pockets of the players involved and keeps the shareholders happy, but at what expense?

The Internet usage in Zambia is so dismal. Focus should be to make it grow and everybody involved will benefit. Stunting growth and usage with caps will not help this cause.

By the way CAPPING is when an ISP dictate how much you can download from the INTERNET and if you exceed the quota, they slap you with a heavy bill or just cut you off completely. This practice is very rampant in developing economies.

That’s our blog on ICT in Zambia

  1. Thanks for the video and the lowdown on ICT in Zambia.

Congrats to Kalu but I cant help thinking that with all the elegance in his personal life it is such a shame he is performing so dismally in his role at FAZ, consequently Zambia’s poor and ever falling standard of soccer.

  2. Congrats and I wish you both and your family all the happiness, People deserve to be happy irrespective of what surrounds them, whether they error or have not met ones expectations. Rich or poor, successful or not, whatever status. Congrats.

  3. Good luck to Kulu, I hope now FAZ will have a president of fixed abode i.e House number so his relatives can visit him

  4. Ok i saw it on top billing yesterday. comments reserved. That Italian Casaleti woman was very excited kalu cool calm and disconnected. Thumbs up. l loved the present that they gave to the guests a teaspoon with some decorations of a ball. Very creative. Now is he going to be based in Jozi or Lsk?

  5. they shud a have let him express himself in bemba, he alway has a problem with expressing himself in english l understand its not easy for him., and uses the same words to mean nothing at the end

  6. Congrates great kalu BUT I hope you have done your homework very well. For most of you who don’t know this guy he is just like me. When it comes to ladies they just fell on my side. Let me remind you of Maureen Kandu at the then ZBS who felled for this guy, the white lady who he has 3 daughters and finally Katalina. Let this one be the last! As in any pact let one be the President and one should follow. Kalu set your base in Lusaka not Jo’burg coz you have a big job right here otherwise you will be like Tilyenji who was running the party from the bedroom in Zimbabwe. Once more Congrates but Kwena learn something from your Experiences.

  7. Great stuff Kalu. Stop being jealous ba Zambia. The guy is a succes. Everybody makes mistakes. I am proud to come from Muf. Good to see Ba Chris Mvunga once again- you throw good parties at your place man.. Lets do this thing boys.

  8. #15 I was born and bred in Mufulira House Number 192 Lumumba Avenue. I used to watch Kalu play TT (Table Tennis) at Country Club when he completed Form5 and at times we would watch him play football at the Park in Maina Soko and Pala. Once more congrates but learn from your past mistakes…………………………..

  9. Kalusha has a very big ego and I think this marriage will also fail just like the other two did. He is not a good listener and he thinks everything is like playing fottball which he thinks he knows very well but life is wider than football and wanting to be seen on the TV screens. There is more to life, open mindedness, wealthy of experience and sheer wisdom which I think Kalusha lacks for his age. He should try studying for a degree in social work.

  10. #4 Abantu and #13 Lolipopo akaso! Even when you are not in Zambian you still are the same.

Until Zambians learn and do away with Akaso we will always be where we are. Why not just wish him the best? One of my bosses can hardly speak like Kalu who we all know only went upto form five at Mufulira Secondary school and his GCSE results were not the best.

Ba LT thank you for telling it as it is where ICT is concerned in Zambia. The trouble is as long as Dora and her friends have internet at home then all is well. Goes down to akaso again. We are people who do not like to share. The developed nations are saying and working towards making internet available in every house hold, when we are doing the complete opposite. In the last few years we have seen broadband cost go down by 50% in…

  11. Contd. In the last few years we have seen broadband cost go down by 50% in developed countries. Yet people still have dial up in Zambia.

Leave Kalu alone mwebantu and yes congrates to him. All the best and enjoy life.

  12. Its great to see Kalu enjoying his role as FAZ president, I wish the joy could be felt by the many Zambian soccer lovers by improving the performance of our ever disapointing National soccer team.
Talking about these useless ISPs, I think its about time some of them a flashed out of this country coz they have stolen enough!! We are tired of them stealing from us in the name of technological advancement!!!!!

  13. Cogratulations to the couple.Uncle Kalu still looking great,For those of you still in the ancient world and calling for Kalu to settle in Lusaka…times have changed.I know of people who live London but work in New York etc .SA is only 2 hours from Zed for goodness sake. With the world going global it will not be possible for people to be tied to 1 address. Why is it that us Zambians always have to lag behind? We now have the internet access, conference calling ,video calling and so on so lets move on with the rest of the world. As for Zambia performing badly the organisers should motivate the players by paying them well and ACTUALLY paying them something. They always promise to pay them but never fulfil their promises.

  14. Kalu, I just to wish you all the best in your life with your wife from Italy. And I can assure you that Italian’s are good when you are faithfull to them. I am saying this with the experience I am having in Italy. Just be a good man and you will receive the best from that lady. But you have to remember Italian are fraguire so you have to be more carefull to handle her. I hope you did have some good experience before you two guys made up the mind of getting together as a family. Man you are welcome in Italy now despite you have a chance of playing to one of the teams here. Good luck and God bless u man!!!!!!!!!!

  15. imwe Kalu has made us proud. I enjoyed seeing a Zambian leaving an elegant life. The guest list was top class. Congrats Chief

  16. # 21 I thought Great Kalu’s going up to form 5 is a great achievement considering what he had to undergo during his heydays. I am not talking from without Kalwisha (fondly called) has made it in life especially in that most of the footballers even this time have been a shell of themselves in the heads.
If it where in Britain # 21 they would have knighted him with a title of Sir or lord considering what he has achieved and continues to achieve in life. Even if his GCSE was bad he has come out of that by meeting big time people who matter most in society and moves with his head up.

  17. pipo please leave Kalu alone. Seperate the two his work and his personal life. You cant blame the Zambia national team failures on Kalu. The man can only do so much. When he won the Afrrica footballer of the year credit was awarded to him and not the FAZ. The same should apply when Zambia does nt do well it should be the fault of the team and not the president.

  18. Kalu, I just want to wish you all the best in your life with your new wife how happens to be from Italy. And I can assure you that Italian’s are good when you are faithfull to them. I am saying this from the experience I am having in Italy. Just be a good man and you will receive the best from that lady. But you have to remember Italian are can be easly hurt so you have to be more carefull to handle her. I hope you did have some good experience with her before you two guys made up your two minds of getting together as a family. Man you are welcome in Italy now despite you did have a chance or an opportunity of playing to one of the teams here in Italy. Good luck and God bless u man!!!!!!!!!!

  19. #26 Modus I was answering the person who said they should have let him speak in icibemba. If you look at my post again you will see that we are spaeking the same language. What`s your comment about internet in Zambia. I think it`s pathetic. Makes you think twice about taking your children back home. Children play on their PS3 on line and I do not think you can get that in Zambia unless your father is a certain president or minister whose broadband is paid for by tax payers.

  20. No. 21, but Kalusha Bwalya has FAILED. I can list at leats 4 fialures . Marriage. 2. To qualify to WC as a player. 3. Failed to take Zed to WC as a coach. and 4, He is now failing to take Zed to WC as an administrator. What are you waiting for… We can never move forward if we keep on praising our failures. We are not any different from RSA who are always celebrationg loosing by 1 zero. Lets wake up.

  21. Abantu your reasoning is ludicrous. So you wanted Kalu to take you to the WC single handedly? Not even a certain Maradona would have done that. If he was playing TT yes! It`s not a one man`s game. Lekeni akaso batata and just work hard to be where he is. Akaso!

  22. Naya bane. Kalu all the best in your marriage. Zambians learn to share and give credit where it`s due. Unless you are Simata Simata (sp). lol!

  23. # 31, YOU FORGOT TO MENTION THAT HE IS THE ONLY PLAYER TO WIN THE AFRICAN FOOTBALLER OF THE YEAR IN THE SOUTHERN AFRICAN REGION.

  24. Beautiful wedding, congrats Kalu. And thanks for the ICT blog. Using internet in Zambia is excruciatingly frustrating – totally stone age.

  25. Nice wedding, I wish kalu all the best in his life. I hope he is just not joining the wave of zambians having glamorous weddings and yet failed marriages. Which reminds me I need to start saving up for mine.

  26. 3RqU, anyway those are the standars i have set myself. I can accept to be disappointed onceb but not more than once… He has had the opportunity as captain, coach, admin to influence issues. Problem is that his personnal agendas overide the benefits that the nation can draw from him.

  27. May be it’s time we discussed download limits when it comes to internet service provision in Zambia. Paying K400,000 per month for 2gb is daylight robbery. We should look into this issue. The amount paid is equivalent to USD 50 and for this amount, other countries get high quality services. Why should we be burdened by such nonsense?

  28. Haters, even in good times all you can see is bad? Congrats Kalusha and Emy, nice wedding and the Zambian themes rocked! Guest list was also impressive, Sepp Blatter and Irvin Khoza at the same wedding reception wow!

  29. All the best Big Kalu, you surely deserve a place in the African Hall of Fame for your outstanding contribution to Zambian soccer. Great wedding too, but I wonder why I was’nt on the Guest list? lol

  30. Congrates Ba Kalu, but let me just remind you that the lady is from the Mafias, never ever try to cross her or else, i wont say much , just try to do it and you will see for yourself.

  31. Congratulationz! Nobody will ever take away the greatness Kalu haz achieved, it’s indelible. But I feel he can let go the FAZ prezidency and still contribute to our futbo in so many other wayz.

  32. shani imwe ba numba 35. ati shani jozi na ma boyz. he is the only player quite right but he is failing to MOTIVATE young zambians soccer players to attain his level of success.i personally think he likes the attention being refered to as the great kalu. WHAT WITH THE MESS OF VISAs, HOW CAN YOU PLAY FOOTBALL IN THAT STATE OF MIND,UNCERTAINITY. newcastle.

  33. Nice for Kalu I hope this marriage will last until KIngdom come. Why does this gentleman fond of foreign women. Does it mean our Zambian women do not measure to his standard or just hunting for riches. Where are his daughets coz they have stopped visiting papa Galu. Is that lady going to relocate to Zambia or it will treking for services to and from RSA and this will affect FAZ. Just watch the unfolding events. Wish the the New Couple in SADC the best.

  34. SOBI we are not haters but it’s them WHO ARE PRETENDERS that things are good as the wedding.that is his personal thing my focus is zambian football development.whether someone has a star studded list of invites but with an embarrasing resume about something that takes the gloss off.

  35. Most Africans can’t stand to see their fellow Africans live an extra-ordinary life – such resentment is a sad and retrogressive factor bringing Black people down. You will find that almost all successfull black celebrities who have been victims of homicide were murdererd by fellow blacks; Lucky Dube, Peter Tosh, Notorious BIG, Tupac Shakur, Marvin Gaye are just a few examples.

PS.: When did you last hear about a white celebrity who was murdered by white assailants? I can only think of John Lennon.

  36. I’m in Zambia, our ISP is Real time and I’m able to watch the clip.

For those who have not heard about real time they are one of the better ISPs on the market and in a joint venture with CEC they are also laying fibre and bringing Broadband internet to their clients.

  37. Congrats ba Kalu for that big show and your big choice. Lets hope this will make u settle down home. If u cannot manage to settle in Zambia, pls step down before everyone lose the respect they have for u.We all need to be happy in life, but not at the expense of mother Zambia..Good luck

  38. Hey guys, the fact that Kalu was a good FT player does not make him a good manager or what ever, this guy is a good role model, but the marriages are just too many , i hope he is not taking marriage the same as moving from one FT Club to another.

  39. He definately deserves to enjoy his life to the fullest because he has earned it and did Zambia proud sometime back. He is a very good man. Congrats Kalu. Leave the FAZ thing to somebody else though

  40. No 13 you are wrong. Kalusha is one of the few footballers who reached grade 12 his english is fine, its just that he stummers a bit when he is speaking. Apo peve wanama and besides Top Billing can not entertain speaking in local language.

  41. ISP or ICT…whatever? Is non existent in Zambia, and Its all Dora/RB/Lungwangwa/CAZ’s/AllZambians’ fault…its is honestly pathetic.Even if you pay for it, it don’t mean you’ll get to use it(read the Terms & Conditions of ISPs in Zed). As for Kalu, leave him alone. He is not even the Zambian Presido…but people are already talking about his Bedroom. Lastly, English is not enough…look at the mess that your well spoken ‘leaders’ have gotten Zed into!

  42. #28, Mama Chonya, ala mwalasa!! When a player succeeds or a team does well, no one attributes it to FAZ but when we have strikers missing open goals, somehow its Kalu,s fault..double standards bane…..Anyway, best of luck ba Kalu bakaamba!!

  43. I AM ON REALTIME TECHNOLOGY AND AM GETTING THE BEST OF THE SERVICE – NOT THESE TEMBA ISP. TRY THE BEST AND YOU WON’T REGRET.

  44. So, this is the reason why the Zambian National team failed to camp in Holland and had a disastrous trip to London? The Boss was busy getting RE-married.

  45. I have modest paying job around town. I remember the weeding of Lucas Randebe former Bafana Bafana star. It was fantastic and this one for Great Kalu, it was simply HEAVEN ON EARTH. I wonder if Kalu had the financial muscle to foot a bill for such a huge event. Or was it the lady behind the whole chunck. I understand she has got all the bucks. On the local scene with Chiluba’s impending conviction, I suggest GRZ to advertise for a job to look after the man whilst serving his sentence. I tell you I would use every trick to go for it. Coz it means forme 4 special meals per day, good connection to the outside world. no paying bills, exccess to gud gym. meeting born again pastors. introduction to Moses Katumbi then by time he would ve served his sentence I wud have saved Billions for gud…

  46. I dont know how Brother Marks missed her dating with that 6 Valves South African inchintu. I remember during the 50’s to 70s it was very common for guys going South do some takataka jobs and on coming back theybrought with some human Katundu. Ma Cape Coloreds. The mixture is still around and check the person next to u and ask the background. This time around, ma guys bali wiki maningi. If the Chiluba dream fails then i bet you. I will gun for those grand children of Madiba. They posed too world during his Birth Day. I have tried to draw the attention of our local ones. They are too pompus for nuts, no bucks its one way traffic. Every monthend my parents nid this and that. The other Saturday this Tonga one me my dad minimum price Chopper equivalent to 1500 herds ya Ngombe but we rear Mbuzi

  47. Kalusha’s Children are biologically his no question about it. Strong gene the man has indeed. The two children fathered from the previous wthite woman never look like they are point five (.5) at all. Do smilar, implant the strong characteristics into FAZ. Otherwise, cheers!

  48. Mwangala, point five is an insult, imagine, I am mixed race and I am very upset with that comment, I have seen his kids and they are mixed race, If you were white , you’d be a hill billy red neck.

  49. zedians dont be haters, just wish him well ,thats some of you never taste success coz of jalousy………learn to appreciate when others are rejoicing. you cant say opprtunist when the guy has worked his b***ls of to taste a good life. let him enjoy. God blesses us differently and at different times. accept or live life hating.

  50. remember the “A god in zambia” i see alot of what the writer wrote about in most of the posts above. PULL HIM DOWN syndrom. mwabashani? ngafyapwa ati ekutila amone aleyunfwa nelyo tayunfwile..

  51. #10 limolimo you can try abasungu.Maureen Nkandu was a let down.Just like what happened to me,i used to send money to one useless girl ku Kitwe for 4yrs only to find her very much pregnant.Imagine from a kantemba born again pastor. To Kalu i wish him the best this time.

  52. Yeah, really beautiful ceremony by Great Kalu, I hope it inspires many more Zambians to aim for the VERY Best in life…..no need to pull each other down, as long as one does clean honest business ( which I’m sure Kalu has) the sky should be the limit for each and every Zambian.

  53. thus your taste Kalu….. Suck your pleasure from the white meat men. but let correct some pipo. success is not marrying whites

  54. This is why Maureen Nkandu refused to marry this simpleton from Butondo! She knew she would never be happy with this impresario! I shudder to think if he has even paid any alimony in the adolescent years of their daughter. The same nepotism (he is known for) has brought us an Italian coach who is a cousin of Kalusha’s wife! That’s why the team is failing (even to play) you have to pay the FAZ prez!

  55. I’ve read several good stuff here. Certainly worth bookmarking for revisiting. I wonder how a lot effort you set to create this type of magnificent informative website.
