Sata’s allegations on fuel, misleading, irresponsible and provocative – Shikapwasha

Share

shikapwashaGovernment has described Patriotic Front leader Michael Sata’ s media statement that President Rupiah Banda is about to hike fuel prices to subsidize ‘thieves’ involved in fuel procurement as misleading, irresponsible and provocative.

Chief Government Spokesperson Ronnie Shikapwasha says Government is saddened by Mr. Sata’s allegations.

Lt. Gen Shikapwasha said in a statement to ZANIS last evening that the statement by the opposition leader only reflects his poor understanding of running of government and his propensity to tell lies.

He said government is deeply concerned that Mr. Sata was deliberately misleading the nation into believing that prices of fuel were determined by the President.

Gen Shikapwasha stated that it was only the Energy Regulation Board which has the mandate to determine the prices of fuel and that the criterion had nothing to do with government.

He explained that local fuel prices are determined by the cost of supplies from the source and transportation among other market forces.

Gen. Shikapwasha who is also Information and Broadcasting Services Minister said contrary to Mr. Sata’s assertions, all these factors are not determined by the President.

He dismissed Mr. Sata’s allegations as regrettable and uncalled for.

Gen Shikapwasha said Mr. Sata’ s allegations against President Banda were only a reflection of the kind of leadership that Zambians should expect if he was given an opportunity to lead the nation.

He said it was clear from the statement that the opposition leader’s governance style would also involve fixing fuel prices from State House just to appease suppliers.

Gen. Shikapwasha added, “ As for the thieves that Mr. Sata is referring to in the procurement of fuel, we can only say, it takes a thief to know a thief.”

Mr. Sata is quoted in one of the daily newspapers as having said President Rupiah Banda wants to hike fuel prices to subsidize thieves involved in the procurement of fuel.

  1. But RB has the power to stop ERB from increasing the price. Bamudala bafulwa because Sata has blocked the hike. Viva PACT!!!

  2. If it was not true Shika shouldnt have come out so strong about it,this increase was meant to be done way back during that shortage, then the ERB chairman, stopped the increase with instructions from plot 1,it was just delayed not to rile consumers during the shortage period, so ERB is now in a dilema, they have to increase fuel,Sata has popped the lead on them and the govnt is now so angry that they have been exposed, looks like Sata is ahead of them all the time

  3. Sata is a paragon of lies who speaks shamelessly from his leadership playbook. Its all in his doctrine:

SATA’S PF PARTY CONSTITUTION ARTICLE 3 SAYS

“The party shall ensure that all the public institutions, State-owned enterprises and popular mass and similar organizations are led by persons who are members (cadres) of the party and who are uncompromisingly committed to the party”.

Is Sata worth talking about Democracy?

Certainly no. He has no fragrance for democracy. The PF, of which Mr Sata is the unelected self imposed defacto leader since 2001, is the least…

  4. Leading a party, whose constitution provides for party control of all public institutions, and the Judiciary vindicate the MMD that such PF is not for our country with its undemocratic provisions of the party constitution that if the PF were in government they would run public institutions on partisan lines and completely destroy democracy for PF.

  5. He is a commune who thinks from the confines of communists manifesto. Expect nothing progressive from Sata but such antiquated dialectics.

  6. Veteran, you are an irritant, you posted this same boo yesterday, why cant you say something sensible for once so we can debate your points, this is about fuel increaments not about Sata’s constitution please tapapata

  7. both you shikapwasha and sata are villains who can not be paraded as leaders in a mentally stable society.you are lucky to be zambians.

  8. Imwe naimwe ba Veteran atase! what’s all this grudge you got against Sata? I am sure you are always looking forward to any topic that covers King Cobra because you are always picking on him even on unrelated topics. Just start preparing to get back to Zed. By the way bakamba ba Veteran are you going to go and work for ZNBC after 2011?

  9. Ba Veteran Senior Citizen, I am just wondering if this is a duplicate posting from another thread? Are we now lacking new ideas that relate to the issues being discussed or you are just monogramic simpleton? You should understand that today is thanks giving day in USA and hearing your crazy repugnant rantings will make us puke. You should at times act mature, if you can’t try to pretend you are mature. This is getting out of hand now. Where did you leave your brains? If it was in Zambia, please ask someone down there to mail them. What else will you not comment on? What happens if your RB increases fuel prices as purported by the PACT? What name will you adopt next? Please do not changes, change your thoughts and your behavior. SIR, please, grow up.

  10. we are in trouble again. this guy has exposed us. i told banda to do things fast but he doesn’t listen. anyway we shall talk when i get back from nigeria

  11. There’s a striking resemblance between govt and industry. We always leave the most expensive machinery to the least educated to use. Our Zambian politics have been left to the mentally dull chaps. Why would anyone want to increase fuel prices, that are already too high?

  12. This is what the opposition needs to start doing in order to mitigate the consequences of Banda’s incompetence and criminal acrobatics intended to harm our nation. Had there not been a public outcry about his completely useless trips overseas, you bet Banda would today be at the Commonwealth Summit in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, seriously dozing off leaving us badly unrepresented. His sons already have consessions to buy fuel and hiking the price would even inflate their profits but now that Sata has pre-emptied, we’ll see.

  13. Veteran the MMD govt. No.1 A-Hole. ……….Now imagine if the govt intended to increase the price of fuel!!!!!!!!! Becoz of SATA, I doudbt if they now will. I call that Perceived Action. Away with delayed reaction

  14. A misleading, irresponsible and provocative president is what we desperately need right now in Zambia. Tell us Gen Shika, what has an honest, responsible and not provacative president done for us?

  15. We realize how incensed and hyperbolical PF cadres get whenever Sata is appropriately defined and exposed as a disillusioned kitchen sink political parody laboring in vain. It’s not a misnomer to invoke the PF constitution which call for a kaponya centered PF Government. This clears the air on those who wonder why Sata is being this ignoble with issues of constructional principles of “price mechanism in a free market economy.” He is a commune of antiquated and failed groupthink. He would pronounce hell to the country. The way forward for any nation is responsible free market driven economics and not “PF shall ensure that all the public institutions, State-owned enterprises and popular mass and similar organizations are led by persons who are members (cadres) of the party and who are…

  16. “PF shall ensure that all the public institutions, State-owned enterprises and popular mass and similar organizations are led by persons who are members (cadres) of the party and who are uncompromisingly committed to the party communist Utopia.”

  17. It is crazy. Sata has been in KK’s and FTJ’s govt. Surely by now he must know that fuel prices are determined by the ERB and not the president.

I sometimes wonder why people still support Sata. No one has even bothered to ask how Sata will implement his 90 day economic miracle. Ridiculous.

  18. Mr Veteran pliz you are writting the same thing we are doing in MMD dont be a champion like late Tetamalimba. You know my boss yestarday sworn some MMD cadres in some Gov Institution. MULONGA is our MMD cadre but is now PS. As in MMD all this head of Gov Institution are MMD cadres including you and me. Do you know that DPP is one of our cadres, talk of Judiciary. Please tall of something else. UDWELETU

  19. Iwe chi Veteran waya sana. Ma books ya shani yantu ubelenga? It seems you simply copy and paste without using your brains pantu ifintu ulelemba apa tafilepanga sense wamona.
    Just shut up otherwise twalakuvundukila.

  20. Sata the commune need to be oriented in the responsible free market economic order where the price mechanism is not a preserve of Nkwazi House. What people who have seen the failures of Marxist utopia want is the market economy as an economic order that is correlated to a certain structure of society, and is definite appropriate. This country believes and thrives in the virtues of a free-market economy with minimal government intervention with aggregate social benefits. Populism has never worked in the economic order. Sata’s 90 days developmental miracle manifests his pure Utopia.

  21. I think reading that A-hole Veteran’s sh”t gives him the kicks to egest that nosence. Ignore the A-hole. He makes no sence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. Veteran, Zambia does not have a market free economy with regard to oil. How is it market free if the government itself has to import the oil for the market? Let those in the business do so and determine the price. In a free market, who determines the price of goods and services? Who imports and exports the goods? Can you mention some of these social benefits you have espoused on #23?

  23. Veteran,am not a cadre but you are an irrit who lacks foresight and cant articulate on real issues!! are you a son of an MMD cadre in Diaspora?? your days are numbered come 2011 Chi color. Stan york.!!!

  24. Sata has struck a nerve on someone,,,if Nkhwazi can stop fuel hikes in the middle of a serious fuel shortage, then it can direct the same people to increase, so waht sata has done is to put them in a very compromizing situ,OMC’s want to hike but they cant cause sata has already done the damage.like someone said, just have to wait and see if there’s no fuel hike in the next month or so,then sata will be damn good lier,if not then someone will be really angry

  25. Now have you seen why it is important for SATA & HH not to anounce the presidential candidate so early these are the problem.

Zambians should really take these words seriously . There are thieves waiting in the wings to lay their hands on the national treasury. Watch out Zambians

  27. The Truth Hurts ! Sata says a lot of things every week and Ronnie doesnt bother much. What has shaken the hornets nest with regard to fuel hikes ?

  28. ba veteran you are just as ignorant as the word ignorant itself..a pedantic pontificating portentous bas#@d..you can’t tell me that in you right mind, you’ve failed to see the GOOD Sata is trying to do by exposing the issue of fuel increment. its not about PF, UPND nor UNIP this or that, its about the way Govt is trying to squeeze us more in term of tax so that we can finance their touristic trips all over the world with their friends like chiluba. I fear for your luck of empathy for a common zambia like me. Senseless you!!

  29. SATA’s move was Pre-Emptive statement in order to drail the govenments would be irresponsible and economicaly punitive to the citizens. It was a very timely move.

  30. Sata is a gambler and on this he is at it…just hear Shikapwasha’s tok ——-to me he is simply saying ERB will increase the price but it has nothing to do with PLOT 1..this IS sata 4 U POPIZ ….RB and SATA no difference….. GOD give us a leader 2011 is just too soon or else pipo will desperately vote 4 this old tired comedian in the name of politician SATA…..

  31. Ba Veteran, did you write that PF constitution you always refer to? The story is talking oil procument but you still bring party constitution. Kabiye ku NCC to do that. If anything start contributing positive or else we shall locate you and report you to interpol

  32. ANOTHER PF KAPONYA CHASED

Parliament yesterday ordered PF Roan MP Chishimba Kambwili to leave Parliament for gross misconduct and use of unpalatable language.“Mr Kambwili, I cannot allow lawlessness in this House. It is unacceptable and shows indiscipline. I will ask you to leave this House and not to attend sittings for two days.

  33. Take it or leave it,what SATA has beeen doing and is doing is what a good opposition leader is supposed to do,to provide checks and balances on the running government.Ba big nose bafulwa coz baba exposed.Veteran you are a dreamer, foolish add *****ic,infact you are useless to zambia and this hatred you have for sata will not take you anywhere but frustrate you,REPENT before the PACT comes into power because their intelligency team will hunt you.By the way am non-partisan

  34. RB is relatively a good leader except he has sorrounded himself with useless chaps like Mulongoti and Shikapwasha. The sooner he realises this fact the better. come 2011 viva RB

  35. There you go again VETERAN,ubupuba no busushi. What is at stake is fuel and not Kambwili. If you are siting for exams you would have failed because you have a low calibre of understanding things.Whats wrong with you and your hatred for pipo?Ulindoshi?

  36. Sata has done his duty to his country. Imagine if we had no sata! These bastards would be riding rough shod all over the show!! Veteran! We are waiting for You.

  37. SATA is always saying something, but this one got them off their feet and now they are scrambling to find an explanation as to how the information leaked so fast before they can close the deal. Ha ha ahahahahahahahahahaha!

  38. #38 you right but the thing is he cant realise that.Any person who does not seek counsel brings shame to his name.If you observe critically real MMD guys are all quiet coz they know what is at stake.Mulongoti and Shikapwasha are only interested in their jobs and not serving the people who put them into power. But I disagree with you omly on one thinf RB not fitbfor 2011.

  39. Iwe Vet,

debate issues not that senseless copy and paste type of mentallity. Dont you know that RB and shushushu get feedback from this same you are using to belittle other leaders. You must have respect for the elders. You are behaving kwati tawakwata abana. Behave yourself nga ulimwanawamunthu.. Mind you am not a cadre.

  40. MY SIMPLE QUESTION IS WHEN THE LAST TIME FUEL WAS REDUCED WHO GOT THE KUDOS? WAS IT NOT HIS EXCELLENCY RB? HE EVEN BRAGGED THAT HE COULD HAVE REDUCED IT FURTHER!!!! NOW WHAT IS WRONG TO SUGGEST THAT EVEN THE INCREMENT HAS THE BLESSINGS OF THE PRESIDENT? THE ONLY THING THAT HAS CHANGED IS BECAUSE IT IS A NEGATIVE MOVE AND POLITICALLY NOT SOUND. THIS VETERAN GUY MUST HAVE THE SIXTH SENCE YOU CANT TALK OF MARKET ECONOMY HERE. ITS CLEAR FOR ALL TO SEE. LETS BE NATIONALISTS AND ANALYSE PROPERLY!!!

  41. It is sad to note that people that are supposedly to be intellectuals can not critically analyse issues. Nearly 90% of the postings here are saying SATA has gone ahead of them and most are showering praises. It is so unfortunate that even those in the diaspora can post such comments supporting someone whose popularity and politics is based on Zambians failing to follow up things critically. So unfortunate such that people buy his pronouncements without analysis and his image builders M’membe and the post cover him so much. Zambians when the Minister of finance presented the budget in parliament he touched on petrloeum and he announce an increase in tax from 7% to 10% effective January 1, 2010. From here it is very clear that when this is effected as announced then you expect an increase

  42. SATA, HH & THE PACT ARE GIVING YOU (MMD) SLEEPLESS NIGHTS. NO MATTER WHAT DEFENSIVE LANGUAGE THOU SHALL USE IMWE CHANO NIKUSIYA MA OFFICE COME 20011.

  43. in pump prices and this will be soon (in weeks time). Even SATA if he was in the oil business he was not going to hestate to increase the pump prices. If you asked HH he will tell you this is business and am in the oil business so I need to make a profit. So the issue is not that we have a good leader in SATA but a leader who is in a hurry to get to state house . What I expect from the opposition is to sell their policy on energy and oil marketing in particular how they will manage it if they got into power. It is also a good strategy to give solutions whilst you are in opposition so that when you get in there it will be easy but alas all we get from SATA are accusations. If you do not give solutions now you will find a bad economy and it will be difficult to turn things around.

  44. Every thing is now done at State house…procuremnet of maize, fuel, cooking oil, sugar condoms etc…all the GRZ contract are awarded to Banda and Sons LTD.

  45. Veteran,

MMD cadres are well behaved and mature in the manner they articulate developmental issues. Though people have suggested that you could be one of them, your utterances disqualify you. Probably you are a drug pusher hiding in the name of RB, and if you are, soon the law will catch up with you. English alone as a language does not develop the nation. It takes selfless leaders to raise the standard of people in that nation.

  46. conti…

So what SATA is saying is already in the budget and for sure fuel will be increased (though i do not like it) and it will affect the entire economy as most commodities will follow suit especially house hold ecomies will be affected. So country men and women what we need is an opposition that has an alternative to what the current gvt is doing. Unfotunately I do not see any hope in this PACT with regards to real development as mostly their stance is militant and negative to every move that gvt makes. Look at Kambwili who was against the chinese in Luanshya without even engaging them into serious discussion on development today he is standing on the ant hill praising them coz he has a contract with them. Let us critiize and offer solutions.

  47. This is straight forward case Sata should have avoided exposing his deficiencies on. The RB administration is at best with economics of altruism which applies rational behavior by an individual who values the welfare of others than self. In any economic order market, commandist or even in the new traditional economy, there is no way prices can remain fixed for life. Pump prices are dependant variable to feed price shift. The propagation that Sata will keep prices static for life is pure kitchen sink politics for kaponyas. In the real world producers do actually respond to these price signals! This is a listening administration doing the best for citizens despite the fact that macroeconomic variables are uncontrollable. We are not an oil producing coutry to have pump prices predicated on…

  48. # 45 i dare to add that when he see those pictures Chabwela sent. Back to the issue of fuel. I believe PRESIDENT SATA is providing an disputed high level political checks and balances. these ruthless politicians in MMD have taken us for a ride. Youths rise up and kick out these lazos come 2011

  49. If there are any dlevel headed PF kaponyas here better than street kids daily insulting i challenge you to a detailed discourse on Sata’s communist Utopia.

  50. Yangu tata iwe chi Vetaran. Why don’t you just go and teach English elswhere than wasting space on this thread. Watutendwisha ne chisungu chobe! Ati altruism… macroeconomic variables fimo fimo ……twakana mune fitwale uko.

  51. WHAT NONSENSE IS THIS SHIKAPWASHA IS SUBJECTING US TO? DURING THE LAST ELECTION RB REDUCED THE PUMP PRICES WITH NO REGARDS TO THE MARKET FORCES, NOW WHAT THE HELL IS THIS MINISTER ARGUING ABOUT? YOU THINK THAT ALL THE 10MILLION PLUS PEOPLE IN ZED ARE FOOLISH EH? GET A LIFE BOY!!!! & U VETERAN & MR. CAPITALIST, KUPUSA BATI, DULL CHAPS!! GO AND ASK ERB IF THEY ARE THE ONES WHO REDUCED THE PRICES PA CAMPAIGN TIME…ATASE!

  52. Zed is in critical leadership crisis.Liars, thieves, self imposed leaders, hypocrites, revilers, covetous, envious, fraudsters, gossips. Is this whats in stock for 2011?

  53. It is very clear from the budget speech by the Minister of Finance that tax on fuel will increase from 7 percent to 10 percent in January 2009. So what is this tragic comedian Sata talking about? Please let HH stand for president in the pact otherwise Sata will plunge this country into grave danger. The man hallucinates a lot and the Post give him prominent coverage to sell their paper and fight their own battle with RB’s govt all for self preservation.

  54. Ba Veteran. Firstly i need to be educated on whether the flags that accompany the postings show the origin(need to be educated on this one). If they do then Ba Veteran come home and see how the majority of Zambians are suffering. The losses that MMD are registering and will continue to do so are about non-delivery of services. Close to two decades promises are still unfulfilled. Zambians in the rural need basic services, good roads, accessible health services and so on. At the moment any person who is able to stand up and deliver will be the man of the moment. Sata’s track record is that of delivery and thus he is inspiring hope to ordinary Zambians. That is the truth on the ground back home, the ruling party is losing it’s popularity even tho its manifesto is sound. Delivery is 20%.

  55. For those with short memories. Just one year ago during the Presidential by Elections, Mr Rupiah Banda publicly ordered the reduction of fuel price. So Iam very surprised that Mr Shikapwasha, is today telling us that the President has no powers on fuel price fixing. Mwe bantu nangu muliba CADRE please use common sense. I also remember how this false reverend supported RB on this issue. No shame. By the way ,bad Sata as he may appear, he has more effective experience in running government than this chalatan. And I wonder what happened to the report on the ZAF chopper from Mbala that crushed killing families. Shikapwasha am sure was ZAF commander.Shikapwasha lives in constant fear of RB, lest he treats him the way he treated Magande for chakllenging for presidency.

  56. # 66-

If you have any level headed PF kaponya you know here better than you all street kids daily insulting, i challenge you to a detailed discourse on Sata’s communist Utopia. telll us how he will realise his lies.

  57. If Sata stops exposing the evil intentions of this corrupt government the people of Zambia will be totally turned into slaves. Please Sata continue exposing them for the sake of the country. Zambia is not Rupiah and sons property. As for Shikapwasha, Mulongoti, Munkombwe, Mabenga, etc… they must know that their time is up.

  58. Sata is provocative. How ba General? You have not countered Sata’s allegations on the fuel price rise. Its very difficult believing what MMD leaders say. May be its “DO AS I SAY NOT AS I DO”. There are so many issues which pipo (Both ordinary and politicians) bring to attention and they remain unanswered. We are buzy day in day out finger pointing at each other when are we going to come together as one and chart way forward?

  59. Iwe verteran are you in Zambia or else where?Pantu Umucele ukufina baumfwa kumuntu ausendele.Futi necikalipa cumfwa umwine.Us we are here feeling it.You, as a coward you are in diaspora with a lot of so called good English for notinhg. You exhibit typical MMD mentality where they are just good at talking but rubbish when it comes to implementing.Free market……….or……. whatever boi FYABUPUBAFYE, IFWE IFYO TULE FWAYA FINTU UKUBABWINO BY bringing change to to this sweet mother ZAMBIA.If you have relatives in the govt and they dubiously facilitated your procurement of your V.I.S.A and other related documentantions…….ahhhhh am sorry TIME HAS COME FOR CHANGE MY DEAR AND YOU WILL ACCOUNT FOR IT.Ngwele!!!!!!

  60. Veterinary,

listen, there is nothing altruististic about the leaders you worship. They are full of hate, they are oppressors, they have no regard for a common man. Theirs is to exploit and rob a poor Zambian. The sufferings being experienced by Zambians will soon haunt you.

  61. Comedy of the day, one Senior Citizen Veteran, no likeness to our one and only, was once asked told that he was a dull man and he vehemntly denied this, then one chap asked him to spell the word “DULL”, the SCV retorted “You think I am dull, heh, that is very simple, let me spell it for you you numbskull etc, it is DWST”

  62. #20 I agree that it’s ridiculous that right thinking people can support a man who promises a 90 day economic miracle. Even if the current leadership was inadequate, certainly Sata is not the alternative to carry out experiments with the lives of 10 million plus. Once Zambia wilts under Sata, it will take a hundred years to get back to where we are. Surely would anyone wish that for their children and their future? It shows a deficiency in mental capacity among some of our people.

  63. There is one simple but important point that Shikapwasha and bloggers have missed about Sata’s statement on fuel. Sata’s intention is to create panic buying of the commodity so that the fuel shortage persists and chaos reign. The fuel saga was just the latest among a long list of Sata’s (and mmembe) failed strategies to create anarchy and chaos in the country. Sata thrives on chaos, just observe how active he becomes during such episodes. By creating chaos he is assured of massive support among the gullible and those who cannot reason for themselves (see the blogging activity on LT). Sata can never get into Sate House except by creating anarchy and that explains his pertual losses . It is predicted that his last chance in 2011 will even more painful because he will lose by only 100…

  64. #78 FIBROIDS- I dont know where you are, but we here on the ground are feeling it. We are not talking because we are not priveleged to be quoted(head lines) by the press like Sata and Shikapwasha. Continue eating MMD money but one day God will get to you.

  65. fibre 77 you are very very dull, who is causing chaos between sata and banda? its minions like you that are taking Zambia backward. why do we have shortage of gas when no neighbour is an lacking? are we at war? even mugabe who is under sanctions is performing better than banda. think before you write. sata is an opposition and he must cease any moment that the main part is going wrong. if he doesn’t make use of this opportunity when is he going to show them that he can perform better. as for 90s, even the USA evaluates it new president in 100 days. if no new policies are generated or implemented within 90 then you have an ***** in the state house. banda promised to continue with levy’s legacy, let him show us. please shut up if you have nothing to write here.

  66. #78 ba fibre you are really exposing your ignorance and foolishness. im surprised that a man you can write such good english can fail to have a sensible mind and proper reasoning. where are you getting these ideas that sata is engineering the shortage..FOOLISH man..very very dull indeed. in fact its you who cannot even reason, or even say anything right. What creation anarchy by sata are you talking about? remember the nurses strike (chansa kabwela’s photo), doctors strike, teacher’s strike, massive load shedding, bad roads, clinics with no drugs plus those long hours of waiting and so forth…who is in power? RB.now you want to lie that it’s sata engineering all this..SHAMELESS FOOL!!!!

  67. Thats the problem with African politics and its people, you want things always on the cheap with government subsidies.
Here is a fact a little over or less than a year oil was trading at $35 a barrel and of let it has been flip flopping between $70 & $80. Any sensible person will see why prices go up. I other country you just drive out and you find the price has gone up because commodity prices have been going up not because of economic fundamentals unfortunately everyone has there own explanation for that.
When prices go up its not because RB wants, that’s just a misconception that local Zambians and unfortunately some bloggers here have. But its OK because i can blame it on the politics and the politicians in the country who take advantage of its people. Educate ur friends nt…

  68. That’s Sata for you.

The PACT should direct their energies at picking their presidential candidate for 2011 elections while there’s enough time to iron out the fall out. If they leave it too late, the fall out may be too damaging. This is probably the most crucial challenge they face now. How will they handle UPND want HH as president, and PF cadres who want Sata for president of Zambia? They need to have an idea of the size of those who will be disgrantled.

Fighting the MMD over fuel etc at this point is strategically not the best way to spend time. The biggest threat to the PACT is the fall out after either Sata or HH is picked as President. And how will that happen, by convention?

  69. #82 UCHIPO. Spot on. There’s a lot of ignorance among Zambians, even LT bloggers. It’s a very sad situation. Having uneducated political leaders doesnt help either.

  70. Shikapwasha , just answer yes or no. Are fuel pices going to increase in two weeks time? Thats the question Sata posed which you have failed to answer. The truth is that very soon fuel prices will rise period.

  71. Imwe ba Veteran you are posting same things over and over, what is your problem? We know you are working for MMD becoz that is the language of the dudes in MMD. Dont you see that people are ignoring what you post. Waba itole. Stick to the topic not decampaign. The issue here is ERB not manifesto.

  72. Ba veteran mulichopo sana you always bring Civics into Accounts. Can’t you see between your monkey eyes? If you have nothing to add here leave this site for ma
ture people so that we gate something from them. You can be in any political party but bring issues which can help the future not just matter of attacking with baseless and childish copy and paste points.

  73. #82 Chief Analyst, Sir, if you understand the Queen’s language and read my blog carefully you will find that I did not say that Sata created the fuel shortage. I could never accuse Sata falsely because I am not in his league and yours. I fully understand what caused the fuel crisis. What I DID say, sir, was that Sata thrives on chaotic situations to take advantage of the gullible like yourself.

  74. #81 Kafupi: Dear Sir, I see that even the language (minion) is parroted. Sir, Sata can never make president of this country. He will never get the chance to be judged after 100 days in office because we do not need to wait for that. He has already scored zero just by his history and behaviour. Why do you think that no one ever thought of appointing him as vice president? Sorry it hurts but those are the facts, Sir.

  75. The question here is why was there fuel shortage in the first place? How did it come about? PLEASE MMD LET US KNOW IN DETAIL WHAT LED TO THE SHORTAGE.

  76. When I commented on this story in the Post yesterday in response to an earlier comment by a blogger extolling Mr. Sata, the story has since been removed – it is not even there in the archives of the Post. My comment was under moderation and all I see is the story has been removed even though older stories are still there. Anyway, what I said on a comment by somebody who said Mr. Sata has the interest of the people at heart was that this is the man who supported Mr. Chiluba’s 3rd Term attempt thus hounding out of the MMD, Miyanda, Tembo and many other progressives. He led to the resignation of LPM as VP, he is responsible for hacking people in Chawama, and not too long ago he said that he would drop all of Mr. Chiluba’s cases.

  77. In addition, he has a very questionable development strategy for the country – bordering on trial and error and a clear indication that he does not understand world economics as manifested by his China/Taiwan confusion. Granted the country is in malaise right now and we need change, but this would not be the right change. At one I really thought that Mr. Sata would at one time rule Zambia – I am now afraid I do not think so anymore. HH with his strategy of demeaning the Presidency does not show any statesmanship, I think that the young man is not equal to the task which is pretty sad for our country. I strongly believe that we have time to come up with a credible leader for Zambia before 2011. We need to start being serious NOW.

  78. Without Sata or HH these MMD-thieves would have gone too far. They would have started ra.ping Zambians in day linght. Who has not seen how Sata and HH have been consistent in their political game? Who has not heard and noted how Sata has really woken up these sleeping Ministers and MPs? How many politicians has Zambia produced and always end up in the stinking hands of MMD? Where are the likes of Nawakwi, Nervous Zambia shall be saved, Sikota, Ben Mwila name them. All are serving MMD but Sata has remained giving checks and balances to these d.ulll gonvernment. Its a pity that those whom the MMD favours would support blindly.

  79. Kambongolo, do not forget that Sata is as MMD as the other people that you have mentioned. He is just being like another Mpombo – people who want to be heroes and see fault only when they are out. Sata was already raping Zambians in daylight – I have cited the Chawama incident. From the way HH is talking, I can only imagine what he would be like once given power. The consistency is only in the desire to get to Plot One. There is nothing at the moment that would make me believe that these gentlemen would bring any meaningful change. In fact, I am also worried of the consequences of internal fighting as they jostle for power amongst themselves. You are right – we need Sata for checks and balances – just that (I think KK once mentioned something to that effect).

  80. Just one more thing – who in 1991 lifted a bag of mealie-meal telling Zambians that the price for the commodity at that time was pure insanity and that once in power the reduction in the price of Zambia’s staple food would be the first thing that will be done. Do you remember what happened to the price of mealie-meal when Mr. Sata and Company came to power? King Cobra will be haunted by history so much. This is exactly the same story that we are being subjected to with oil now. King Cobra had the potential to run Zambia, but I doubt it – he has made too many mistakes.

  81. A strong opposition is always healthy in any democracy. PF / UNPD is a strong opposition but are they talking much sense?
    # 96 and 97 Advisor, i have learned a lot from you…A very good analysis in my eyes. I’m sure there are other ‘ knowledgeable ‘ bloggers out there who will dispute your facts.
I am not partisan, but if these are the sort of comments that the post removed then they are biased ! ..Maybe they don’t like bloggers with common sense. 🙂

  82. #96, 97 Advisor: Well analysed. If we need change we need a credible replacement and not just change for its sake. And you are spot on regarding the pact. As it is arranged now the pact is a sure recipe for violence when the two protagonists jostle for power, as they surely will. I said recently that the strategy of not competing against each other for parliamentary elections simply confirms who is the junior partner in the pact. The only way this pact can work is to merge and face the truth well before 2011. What kind of republican president can baby Sata be if he cannot see these simple facts. What kind of strategist is he?

  83. Oh sorry maybe they have read the constitution and fear to lose their parliamentary seats if they dissolved their respective parties to merge. Just shows the quandary they are in, especially that one partner is senior by numbers, inconsistent, and quite cunning too. He has a proven “track record” too, which baby Sata would do well not to brush aside as he is doing.

  84. Iwe mune VVVVVVVVVVet are you RB’s nephew .why aren’t you in zambia???? Let us judge our leaders and not you mambala.you can not compare President SATA to yourself.Sata has been with us and will be with us in zambia.Umucele baumfwa ukufina kuusendele. It’s only people in zambia who should be the best judges coz they are the ones feeling the hardship and not you kamwaice.I hope you will STOP making the rubbish noise you have been making.
    shut up for ……………………………………

  85. what si the issue.we have working models of fuel management in the neighbour countries.why cant we learn from them.and stop to foolishly think it is a normal problem .it is not.iam trying to thi nk of one thing that zambia has done well in it.education i think .so with all the education, why are we allowing our country to go down like this .why are we waiting for RB to tell us what we are going to do .why are we not doing it.i dont think the solutions to zambias problems are political solutions .unfortunately people believe that ,because it is cheaper.what is expensive to suppose is hardwork .are we working hhad enough to develop zed.or are we waiting for a general election.we need to shift a bit from politics.it is killing us.

  86. Mudala shikas; why are you intimidating the King?. The King is the spokesman for the too many silent people in this country. Mudala learn to do your work properly. If wrong things are being done by you people in leadership, it is healthy for concerned and affected people to talk about such issues. Long live Sata, long live Hikainde and long live the pact.
