Share

The opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) has sent a message of condolences to the government and the ruling Movement for Multi Party Democracy (MMD) on the death of Deputy Minister for Home Affairs, Misheck Bonshe.

UPND president Hakainde Hichilema has also sent a message of condolences to the late Mr. Bonshe’s family.

Mr. Hichilema said the late Mr. Bonshe, will be remembered for his determination and selfless service to the country.

“I wish to join the people of Zambia in expressing my heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Hon.

Bonshe, the people of Mufumbwe, the MMD and the Government at large on the occasion of the untimely death of the late Hon. Bonshe,” he said.

He said in a statement to ZANIS in Lusaka today that the people of Zambia have lost a patriot.

“Our hearts therefore go to the bereaved family in these trying moments,” he said.

The late Mr. Bonshe, who was Mufumbwe Member of Parliament, died yesterday around 11:15 hours in Nigeria where he had gone to seek healing from the renowned evangelist, T. B Joshua.

He was 65 years old.

The death of Mr. Bonshe brings the number of MMD Members of Parliament (MPs) who have died in the last six months to three.

The other two are late Solwezi Central MP, Benny Tetamashimba, who died in September last year and Milanzi MP, Reuben Chisanga Banda who died last month.

The late Mr. Tetamashimba was also Local Government Minister.

  1. Ever since HH gave a statement about FTJ’s accusations on that mickey mouse press conference,I’ve started believing in this mans wisdom,he has definately won my VOTE,im sure im not the only one.he showed maturity in that statement, otherwise we could have read another statement from chiluba’s press aid

  2. May his soul rest in peace. The fact that he went to seeck for healing from a man of God tells me he was a believer. Better to die seecking God than politicing.

  3. The inabilit of T.B. Joshua to trace his Christian journey and provide proofs of his spiritual conversion, give names of his Pastors and friends makes him up as “fake”.

    T. B. Joshua would tell you he just got born again from his mother’s womb, which is not possible.

Where have you been my friend? This TB Joshua is indeed FAKE.Or should i say “wolves in sheeps’s clothing.

  5. Nice message from the UPND Team. May you UPND Team send a delegation to the funeral house of the late Mr Boonshe and assist the bereaved family in any way possible, please.

Have a great day all as we prepare to see what will happen in the coming Mufumbwe By-Election.

The Question should have been does the devil possess any powers? Refer to the text in the bible after JESUS had fasted for 40 days in the desert. You will get your answer!

  7. We the North Western Team are ready for yet another Bye election. GO the PACT GO. We are right behind you. I and my family count on you. The Tarmac in Solwezi done some two years ago is now Pot holes or Bole holes in any term you can use. May H.S.R.I.P

So many deaths in this govt of late, very saddening indeed for the bereaved families.
On the other hand, our leaders must try to up the efficacy of our own medical set-up so we lessen our quests for better attention in SA, and now Nigeria. Anyways, it’s only the politicians who enjoy that preserve…
My heart goes out to the Bonshe family. Keep the strength and take heart!

  9. Human beings have no control over death, so it is meaningless to talk of ‘untimely death’.

Even when we may believe in the spiritual powers, it is indespensable that in modern age, we have access to world class health services here in our own country. MMD government has failed lamentably on this score. I’ve never even heard MMD leadership mentioning health services as a priority. They seem to forget that even when the leaders can be evacuated abroad, their family members can not. There are too many unnecessary deaths in Zambia.

  11. Timely message from HH to the family of the late minister. As UPND we shall ensure that the seat comes back to UPND as we position our selves to take back North Western seats in 2011

  12. #19, I surely agree with you on “There are too many unnecessary deaths in Zambia”. The Government should research on why people in other nations’ life span is on the increase. The health sector has been neglected bad!

  13. How do you know he was on his way to TB Joshua? and even if he was – does that mean that it is the fault of TB Joshua if this man died in Nigeria? I think the use of his name is unnecessary and creates a false impression.
