  1. Number 12…..now thats love.Carrying the madam safely …..as for number 8 and 13size matters guys. The women are straining the backs of the Tonga bulls

  2. Classy. All news is depressing whether it be here or the rest of the world. Can you post pics that put a smile on faces? Is it even remotely possible? Surely there are some positives around? No? Yes? Its the end of the week for crying out loud!!

  3. Rather sad…the men in blue overalls look clueless too. What are the stone they are piling going to do? This is some risky muddy river crossing.

  4. Zambians have the best sense of humor. #1Comment master – LMAO

On a serious note – This should be declared a state of emergency and all resources tapped to get that bridge up, STAT.

  5. Zambia one, just wondering if the disaster management unit under veep office have a proper plan to deal with natural disaster like floods and so on. Those floods are threatening life.

  6. that looks very dangerous.when the strength of that current increases people will be swept away.I’m curious who these people are going to vote for in 2011

  7. LT, change the heading. You ve only showed us Sinazongwe flood victims. Its not neccessarily talking about the pics in the week.

Balance it up with other photos, am sure its not like that everywhere else.
Thats a sad development, but still it makes it all boring.

  8. Ladies looking for equal opportunities must participate in ferring the people. I can’t see any lady here doing the job.;)

  9. In other countries this would have been declared a national emergency but in our so-called peaceful country, our carefree President takes it as business as usual and even manages to fly away on lonf foreign trips! God, help us!

  10. Pic 10,12 and 13 are interesting awe kwena.Umunandi ichupo chalipwile na ba madam when he was photographed in such a position.:-?

  11. #15 Mangelepa and # 18,19 Persona, please don’t bring your ignorance out in public – Equality in men and women does not mean physical strength. Educate yourselves on women’s rights.

  12. # 21, we knw tht equality comes when ladies want a good thing, but always cry foul they face physic, this wonders men especially when donor aid is also involved:-?

  13. They are very lucky crocs could have had a nice free meal , it is sad to see what people are going through while their leaders and their young women are travelling around the world on tax payers expense.

  14. Ci SENIOR CITIZEN do you know that if RB had cancelled only one of his many expensive trips that bridge would have been done a long.

  15. When Barak Obama realized that the successful passing of the Health Care Bill was going to need his presence, he suspended his trip to Asia until June. Now I call that seriousness with the Office of the President. Rupiah Banda, on the other hand, cant wait to get on the plane for the next trip to who knows where next. When the country has some places cut off by floods, he sends a handful of clueless soldiers to do nothing. How about releasing the boat that was confiscated from Xavier Chungu to ferry people back and forth. How many people have to drown before this is considered a serious emergency that it is?

  16. And when people call for red card, he arrests them. For me it is red card all the way. Even my underpants are red. The food is red, the drinks are red, I thinking about buying a red car. I am deliberately sitting in front of smoking wood so my eyes can turn red as well. Viva Red Card campaign.

  17. By the way Thandiwe is in favor of the red card campaign. She was wearing a red dress and red shoes during the renewal of MMD card exercise

  18. The guy wearing the Arsenal shirt should be careful, he will be arrested for participating in the red card campaign

  19. my poor country..just where is the goverment thats suppose to take care of us..the presidents travel monies..can we divert a bit towards rectifying this..this is sad..and you jail for 18months a citizen for speakin his mind…???

  20. Diaporan mwanjipaya with your Red Card campaign, Keep it up. Lol. Lets start a group on facebook and call CNN to highlight it.

  21. Your government at work. tomorrow he will be airborne again. When his own people cannot even get from one village to the next. Such a shame.

  22. Diasporan and Chenda, have you guys been watching the news to see what the floods have done in the USA, most developed economy? Once you see those images, please get back to the blog and comment.

  23. LOL why should RB go to the Bridge, why should he suspend his trips when he is not going to add any value to the situation, the process will still be the same, should he just suspend trips to appease the masses? and people keep comparing to Obama, have you looked at the GDPs of the two nations lately?

  24. When Zambians give the Air borne RB zero Votes….he and his clowns will start crying….boats could have been taken to this scene immediately. Masebo bought some boughts, where are they????? Knowing the MMD, they are just waiting for a fatality so that they can take one of there hearses and tell people that their govt cares for them….malabishi!

  25. #39 Chintomfwa…. you are indeed a ‘chintofwa’….you mean you cant see the sense in Vasco Dagama RB suspending his discovery trips so he can address issues like these? Let me break it down for you:
    1. If Vasco Dagama RB stays in his office, he will have time to order and monitor the work of his Ministers.
    2. If he stays in the office to write a book about the lands he has discovered so far, resources will be saved and be channeled to such emegencies.
    3. If he visists the site, all involved will treat the matter with urgency as a way of impressing the boss before he dozes off on site.

Do you get it iwe Chintomfwa!

While we are at it, someone tell that imitation of a Veep not to go by a helicopter to inspect the site!

  26. Shame!!! and yet RB gets on his Challenger Jet u SOB !!!!!mother F! come arrest me 1475 druid valley drv atl ga 30329!

  27. Banda just said that he is happy with the crop of Civil Servants. Such a failed government needs to be kicked out for sure. Just think of it, the whole big Choma cut off from the nation.

  28. It happens everywhere even in England. Natural disasters should not be blamed on anyone. We cannot stop them from happening but we can ameliorate the difficulties the victims face and prepare to act when they happen. (Obama)

  29. Good Evening

It’s rather disturbing to see how these poor people are fighting against the catastrophe while a handful of soldiers are also not being quite helpful with their stones and ropes.

Yes, natural disasters are everywhere and Zambia is no exception but it takes a well organised government to rectify the situation properly enough for life to carry on conviniently.

  30. oh no this is pitiful can’t the government provide two boas atleast, next people wil be having all these unnecssary diseases.

  31. no strong institutions in the country so people have no fora to seek redress. consumer protection or citizen’s forum? voiceless, easily bought
case in point, look at the recent english channel fracas. those people’s plight cannot be compared to these people exposing themselves to this dangerous situation crossing a treacherous stream and then compare and contrast the level of complaints and calls for accountabilty between the two, mindful though of guarding against comparing apples with potatoes…. is that the saying?

  32. RB, i dont even know how to say his name all i know about this fool is RB. He has drained the country to the bottom. People of Zambia please try to wake up, our country is been destroyed by this so called RB .

  33. RB you have failed yourself and the people of Zambia. Stop those tourism trips and attend to peoples sufferings. You are not in that office in order to save Chiluba’s ass or to globle trot. When are you gonna get it son? And please stop arresting people for no reasons, you are a dictator, you don’t listen to peoples cries except Chiluba. God will punish you for that. RB red carded and go to hell.

  34. Where is chi Senior Citizen, chi MMD Chief Boot Licker and chi Capitalist? What a coward he is?

Only comments when it suits him. Coward!

  35. Zambia needs to invest in infrastructure.Disasters happen everywhere but these same disasters spurn the leaders to look for better ways to curb their effects.how many times have our poor roads been washed away? every freaking rain season.last time it was ndola/lusaka road washed away.those roads are so narrow with no drainage systems.indeed our tourism minister aka president banda should spend more time in zambia.

  36. Its The Party and Its Government (PIG) at work. The governemnt sent the solders to buid a temporary bridge. Meanwhile the GRZ receives donations year in and year out. Matero roads will be done soon. The bridge?????? Kaya if it will be looked at again after what solders will put up. 2011 vote wisely. You vote will count. Together We Can Change (TWCC)

  37. It is a govt by the people for RB & Company!! What do expect from such a govt?!

These clowns are in govt to suc.k it dry before they drop dead! How come there is always money to send their relatives and their political cronies to foreign lands for medicals, yet they can’t find money for bridges & such?

–One of them develops “Impele” (scabies), private jet to South Africa.
–RB feels pain in his knees (old age Arthritis), it is fly me to South Africa.
–One of their relatives develops “Ichipute” (bowl), get me a plane to India
–Even the walking dead in govt are flown out at huge expenses
    –Presidential tourism, Ok!

Yet these govt officials don’t seem to care seeing Zambian mothers risking their lives crossing flooded rivers on the backs of men—what a country!!

  38. no words!!!!!!!:((:d/:((:d/:x:d/:x8-|/:):o:-?:o:o:o:o very saddening indeed.
priority number one should be people and not foreign trips.
who is gonna vote for you again-heh,foreigners or us????

  39. Mwangala. Despite the photographs above. RB is off to Namibia.:d:d:d:d:d:d:d:d:d:d:d:d:d:d:d:d:d:d:d:d

Wait a minute. This aint funny!:-?

  40. Its indeed a sad state of affairs. I feel especially sorry for the poor man in picture #8 who seems to be struggling to maintain his balance after lifting a weight twice his own size as well as ‘fighting’ the force of the torrent against bearing on his legs. How I wished the soldiers from the Engineering Squadron could have come in handy to help these poor souls…but Alas…they don’t seem to better equipped for this occassion too apart from the pile of rocks they are moving.

  41. Welcome to Zambia the really Africa. Beautiful Zambia in the sun of Africa. :x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x

  42. Oh NO Dam ! This is very sad indeed ! As an african Dark-Child, it is not allowed to get close to our respected mothers like that. It is a taboo to hold them that way. You young people you might have bad luck in your life Ka ! All because of the failure of our government leaders. When I saw the pictures; I almost wept. Chilenkadipa sana bane; nde mpukunya no umutwe. Nshile shininkisha olo panono. Umudala taleposako na amano, ali paulendo ku Namibia mu kwisansamusha.

  43. is this an annual event.

let qualified engineer’s do their thing (avoid fly by night contractors)

    people need to be safe.

  44. i guess L.T. was stuck at the washed away bridge. Hope you made it to the other side to take pics of other things going on.

I think the bridge washing away is an example of cutting corners in building infrastructure in Zambia. No one is held responsible. Who ever wins the bid to build a bridge should warrant it holds up for x number of years.

  45. Look at pictures, this is in Zambia. Bloggers! Do you see anything fi smile about? Look at the condition of our Soldiers. Do you really see anything to smile about. Shame on our country “ZAMBIA”
