Zanaco Raise Some Dust

Share

Zanaco today have made their feelings very clearly known about what they think about the Kalusha Bwalya co-opted executive committee.

The defending league champions on Thursday showed in their very own peculiar way what their views were on the co-opted executive committee which has stirred controversy with most Faz affiliates stating that it is constitutionally invalid.

Zanaco today snubbed Faz delegation leader Elijah “Shenko” Chileshe who is one of three new executive committee members co-opted into the executive committee after four former members quit a fortnight ago.

Chileshe who owns Division 1 club Mining Rangers is the official delegation leader for Zanaco’s final Caf Confederation Cup Group B match away to Haras El Hodoud of Egypt this weekend.

A club is obliged to host and foot the delegation leaders’ bill but Zanaco have declined to do so, ultimately a strong no vote show in Faz’s current disposition.

“It is very funny that Faz for the first time paid for a delegation leader,” said a Zanaco insider. “I hear he (Shenko) is now traveling to Egypt as an observer from Faz.”

Zanaco meanwhile left, with “Shenko” on the Ethiopian Airlines flight on Thursday afternoon.

Zanaco’s demonstration on Thursday comes after four other Super Division sides namely Green Buffaloes, Red Arrows, Choma Eagles and Nkwazi openly stated on Tuesday that they believed the co-opted executive was illegal.

  1. Zanaco have failed to ably represent zambia in the CAF games. A string of poor results, failure to win home games and as a matter of fact all the teams in the top ten in the zed league save for GBFC and Nkwazi , are from the copperbelt and kabwe. This is aclear sign that lusaka times are full of politics and hence the strong attempt to overthrow FAZ boss.

  2. Ba Kalu, for how can you stick to FAZ with your hangers on abena Kasengele. Plitz dont bring politics into football. If people dont want you, you have to go. Maybe all clubs should stop paying affiliation fees to FAZ and lets see if all of them will be suspended…

  3. last sentence should read- this is a clear sign that the lusaka teams are full of politics and hence the strong attempt to overthrow FAZ boss

  4. The FAZ executive should be composed of people who want to serve Zambia’s number one sport and not power hungry chaps who are there for themselves.

Why then should Kalu stick like glue to the FAZ presidency when all is there to see that FAZ is in a crisis and the executive has to be an issue to be resolved.

What is surprising is the powerlessness being exhibited by the FAZ affiliates who should be in the forefront in seeing to it that football was well run and the present scenario call for an extra-ordinary general council meeting to iron out FAZ issues and map the way forward.

  5. ” Former Football Association of Zambia FAZ Disciplinary Committee chairperson Sunday Nkonde says the Kalusha Bwalya led executive has dissolved itself.

Nkonde explains that resignations of the four committee members have rendered the remaining five not capable of forming a quorum of six.

He says this is according to article 27 sub section 3 of the FAZ Constitution which stipulates that six members of the executive committee are needed to form a quorum .

Nkonde said this in a statement released to ZNBC Sports in Lusaka Saturday evening .

The former FAZ Disciplinary Committee chairperson also stressed that the Executive committee can co-opt a person to fill a vacany in conformity with

  6. ….cont from #8……..with article 26 sub section 7 for remaining period of office ”

#6 Banja , The above quote is from a story on LT from Saturday 2nd October.

The argument here seems to be that in order for the exec committee to co-opt anyone, there have to be at least six of them. We now have a situation where five members have co-opted four new members , which should not happen if the rules were followed correctly.

  7. Augustus Mukoka at The Post, can you please stop these disgusting stories against FAZ and Kalu.. please. You have been very disrepectiful to the Buffalos and Red Arrows, becareful when you write about those soldiers you s**#&.

  8. Munaile is Zanaco. Chitembeya is Baffaloes and has the simpathy of Red arrows and Nkwazi. Lets hear from others like Rangers, worriors, Nkana, Blades and all those from the CB, maybe we shall determine wether thier is a crisis or not.

  9. There is no need to wait for CB teams that are mostly run by incompetent chaps serve for Power dynamos & Nchanga Rangers.
FAZ in its current form is illegal, thats what the constitution says period. This should not even attract any arguement

  10. #3&6 The fact that great Copperbelt teamz have not voiced out on the malaize at FAZ iz not a sign of their support for the rot, after not all Midlands teamz have said anything. And #11 take note, Chitembeya iz from Ndola United.

  11. Zambians are a problem. you should all remember that Kalu was voted into office by the affiliates. so let him continue if he wants to until the end of his term. should he call for an emergency general meeting, we all know what happens. all these pricks are cowards that they will just be queit. it has happened before. they even left a meeting they had organized just coz Kau was there as uninvited. so just wait for 2012 and contest, period
