The petitioners calling for the dissolution of the Kalusha Bwalya executive committee have said they will hold a parallel emergency council meeting (ECM) in Lusaka on the eve of the one announced yesterday by Faz to be held in Kabwe on November 27.
Pettioner Simataa Simataa told ZNBC sports news this evening that, as far as the pressure group is concerned, there is no Faz executive after four executive committee members quit on October 1.
Simataa said the petitioners had garnered the required two-third majority with 147 signatures out of the 209 affiliates and will disregard association general secretary George Kasengele’s announcement on November 10 that an ECM will be held in a fortnight’s time in Kabwe.
“We are all aware that there is no (Faz) executive committee since it dissolved itself on 1st October,” Simataa told ZNBC Sports.
Simataa said the parallel ECM will be held on November 26 at Intercontinental Hotel in Lusaka.
“That is why the members have taken up the right and the opportunity to call for this meeting. So from where we stand-and I stand- is that this is not tit-for-tat. No. The two thirds have called a meeting. It’s on a Friday 26t November,(at)  Intercontinental, (at) 09:00 Hrs,” Simataa said.
However, Faz has said in reaction after receiving the petition from the pressure group today that the parallel ECM is illegal and all affiliates should disregard it.
According to information obtained, the agenda for the 26th will have three three items that will see the confirmation of the dissolution of the Faz executive committee, the election of a chairperson for the ECM and the election of a new executive committee.
The ECM on the 27th to be chaired by Kalusha in Kabwe will have two items; to debate the legality of his regime and his speech.
Wrong move bo Simata. Please seek legal advice. The failure to attend the ECM with the elected FAZ president will merely confirm them in office. FIFA currently only recognises the elected FAZ president and will not accept any resolution from the petitioners without the participation of the current FAZ. If the petitioners want to remove the current team, they would be advised to attend the meeting with FAZ and then table a motion under “Any Other Business” to elect a new team or confirm the current one.
Utter rubbish. So who is acting constitutionally?
If the petitioners are acting unconstitutionally, then their “new Executive” is still born. FIFA simply will not recognise it. So they better point to clauses in the constitution which support their actions.

This is now insanity of the highest order. How do sane people hold a parellel meeting instead of meeting together to resolve the outstanding issues. Surely Kalu is right to discipline these indisciplined chaps calling themsleved petitioners. Unless I am missing something. As far as I know, there is no FAZ executive as it disolved itself after the resignation of the trio and the vice president. In the same vein, I do not know if the Simata-Simata parallel faction can legally hold an ECM. What does the FAZ constitution say when faced with a problem like this?

Ladies and gentlemen, why don’t we use this space to educate ourselves instead of what we have resorted to. Remember, FAZ is neither Simata nor Kalu. Who knows, it might be ourselves running FAZ but if we are not conversant with rules that govern institutions such as FAZ, we risk facing the same problems. Kalu was a great player and Simata took us to 1994 CAF finals against Nigeria as president. If my memory serves right, players were more motivated under Simata as president than they are today.
Simaata you’re messing up on this one. Attend the ‘official’ meeting as it has been called by you, the petitioners. However, ‘the Great’ Kalu cannot chair that meeting as it is not him who convened it but the petitioners. Additionally, the agenda should be set by the petitioners or a new item called ‘any other business’ should be introduced. I have had beef with Kalu. The boy self centred. When he was V/President of FAZ he challenged the COSAFA Prresidency. Results he lost badly only his vote and one from Malawi.
He changed his mind and attempted to vie for a post at CAF. he withdrew in the face of crushing defeat from the French & Arabic powerful speaking countries. Even Abedi pele warned him. Now he wants to challenge Danny Jordan the 2010 WorldCup SA Organising committee Chairman for a seat on CAF. This boy overates himself. He want to use FAZ as stepping stone meanwhile failed to show anything tangible at FAZ since he took over. ECM by the pettioners is valid. Get Rid of Kalu.
#31 it is not that Kalu acted slyly when he saw that the two-thirds majority was reached .it is a constitutional requirement that he had to make sure it was adhered to unlike the headless petitioners that have nothing to lose if that requirement is not met.What surprises me is that these Kalu critics went back to Kalu’s FAZ to present thier petition to an illegal executive(PURE MADNESS)-do these people know what they are doing?

His contribution to the re-building of the Team after the Gabon disaster and his personal display on the field of play is well known and admired by all. Indeed Simataa played a good role as an Administrator. I remember him organising the manning of gates at Independence stadium and ranking in good gate takings for FAZ. The correct position is that the 2/3rds required petitoners should have led to FAZ or what remains of it to convene the ECM, however the bone of really contention would be the Agenda Items. True Kasengele has set his own agenda whilst the petitioners have a different agenda. Who then called for this meetng? The Petitioners! then whose agenda must be followed? These are the real issues..But remember that even an agenda proposed before a meeting has to be adopted or amended by the full meeting when it convenes..but suffice to say this is no ordinary meeting and it should ordinarily have a focused agenda item..the rest can come under A.O.B

I thought Kalu clearly outlined in the circular he sent to clubs and NSCZ on the grounds that they used to coopt other members. I don’t know why people are not commenting on the circular because its clear. We need an interpreter of the FAZ constitution. Looks like its understood differently. It was satetd that the constitution is silent on what happens if people resign. It must be amended.
