Scandinavians praise Zambia

Share

Three Scandinavian countries have praised Zambia for being one of the fastest growing economies in the world.

Danish Ambassador to Zambia Thomas Schjerbeck says Zambia has now reached a point in its development where it is able to mobilize its own resources to further its economic growth.

Ambassador Schjerbeck says Denmark will continue its cooperation and dialogue to Zambia to benefit both countries.

And Swedish Ambassador to Zambia Marie Anderson De Frutos is confident that Zambia will maintain its reputation as a leader in peace and democracy in the region ahead of this year’s election.

Ambassador De Frutos says Sweden is committed to partner with Zambia to advance development cooperation to end poverty.

Norwegian charge de affaires Tori Hoven says the three Scandinavian countries have enjoyed close relations with Zambia both politically and economically.

The three diplomats were speaking in Lusaka on Wednesday evening at celebrations to mark the three countries’ national day.

And Justice Deputy Minister Todd Chilembo praised the Scandinavian countries for their role in addressing poverty in Zambia.

He says Sweden, Denmark and Norway have remained committed to projects aimed at fighting poverty in the country.

Mr Chilembo says the country has benefited a lot from cooperation and AID from the three countries.

  1. on pf planet, Zambia is a worse place to live than Somalia or Afghanistan. For some of us it a beautiful place that we can not risk to put in the hands Micheal Chilucipher Satan.

  2. Scandinavians know that there is too much corruption in the Zambian government and they laugh at us that we are giving out our minerals for free. Scandinavian economists openly tell us that the less than 10% we get from our mineral wealth cannot give us any meaningful development.
Read the Scandinavian book entitled “WHOSE EDUCATION FOR ALL, THE RECOLINISATION OF THE AFRICAN MIND” then you will understand what I’m talking about.

  3. Those of you who are in Zambia I understand your shallow thinking, I’m in Scandinavia and these people are laughing at us.The say Late Mwanawasa meant well for Zambia and not the current government.

  4. #1. i agree with you, for PF, Zambia is like hell, it is portrayed as if it is the last place one would want to live in. I have been to a number of countries and there are countries that are far worse that Zambia. Zambia is on the right track, 6% annual growth is something that some countries are struggling to archive.
    I love Zambia.

  5. “And Swedish Ambassador to Zambia Marie Anderson De Frutos is confident that Zambia will maintain its reputation as a leader in peace and democracy in the region ahead of this year’s election.” thanks ambassador, but zambia cannot maintain that record in the very unlikely event that mr sata came to power, he doesn’t know democracy not even in his own party, up to now he is still the wamuyaya of pf, he will not hold a convention, and he will pick each and every parliamentary candidate for pf. comedy of a “party” indeed, and they say that they will bring us change hahahahaha, okay change to dictatorship yes!!!.

  6. dear ambassadors, our traditional leaders have been lambasted by pf for expressing similar sentiments and they have been accused of receiving brown envelopes from mmd. so please assure pf that you have not received brown envelopes, and that you speak from the bottom of your hearts.

  7. # 2, State House Press Secretary, how many pseudos do you use? You are wasting your time. Minds are made up already. All your paid bloggers are even giving up now. Ask your friend Senior Citizen/Veteran, Bootlicker, Capitalist, and other embassies employees how we have cramped on them. It is end time. If you want you can also give access to your boss to join on this blog, we shall whack him clean.

  8. The peace and stability we are enjoying in Zambia would be put in jeopardy if the likes of Kalos 2121 had their way. He says he would be the first one to use a machete on a fellow Zambian who does not share his myopic, delusional and tribalist political views. Some of us who are patriotic in the true sense of the word are always in a celebratory mood when we see our country making progress be it in education, health, food security and infrastructure development and will ensure that these hard won achievements are not put in danger by placing the future of the country in the hands of a sickly, violent prone and tribalist populist demagogue in the name of Michael Chilucipher Satanzania.

  9. Zambia is only groing on paper, practically all the money in this Country is externalised. Take Mopani Copper Mines for example with a rubber stamp CEO. The Company pays on average 5 times the real Invoices value with the rest of the money paid back to Tim henderson

  10. If we are growing so fast, why do we need their AID? MMD propagandists should make up their minds one way or the other

  11. The more PF kaponya dream for a Zambia with Sata will never come forth only in his Graveyard, us who understand seasons are investing heavily in the Zambian markets. We are getting the best return on our investments. By the time PF mongolides realise that they are cought up in utopia, we gona be Zambian indigenous plutocrates with economic hands in every sector.

  12. Zambia mobilising its own resources for economic growth? What a way of telling us we are brainless, our resources are being externalised and we are busy getting loans from ABSA, China, ADB, name them. That is a very diplomatic way of saying Zambia has enough wealth to sustain itself without their money, won’t be surprised if the next statement would be no more aid from their countries. They have seen how carefree we are when it comes to contracting loans and aimlessly throwing the money o expenditure projects.

  13. Having visited Zambia for many times I have a few comments to share. It strikes me that the larger international companies seem to be prospering and not the local Zambian businesses. Also a lot of young people have university degrees but are unable to get a fitting job. May it be that the growth in Zambia is enjoyed by a minority of the Zambian people, whilst a great share of spendings is actually going to multinational corporations. A good example is the local zambian guesthouses struggling to make business as they are outmarketed by the well known branded hotels.

  14. I agree with what #3 has written. Scandinavians are actually laughing at us for the way we are mismanaging our economy. It is a shame that our system does not allow for many competent Zambians to contribute to economic recovery.
