Stophila Sunzu and Jacob Mulenga have pulled out of Zambia’s November 15 friendly against Nigeria.

And TP Mazembe defender Emmanuel Mbola will not be part of the traveling party after all as his four-month FIFA ban also extends to friendly games.

Zambia coach Herve Renard said after Wednesday morning training at Independence Stadium in Lusaka that Sunzu sustained his injury at TP Mazembe’s training camp in Belgium.

“Stophila got injured while in camp in Belgium with TP Mazembe. He broke his arm,” Renard said.

“(Green Buffaloes defender) Dennis Banda will replace him will join us for the camp in Johannesburg.”

And Mulenga said he had pulled out of the friendy because of had an appointment with his doctor but was not injured.

Meanwhile, Christopher Katongo of Chinese side Henan Jienye joined camp on Wednesday and was in training with the rest of his team mates at Independence Stadium.

The team leaves for Johannesburg on Thursday where they will setup a three-day training camp before heading to Kaduna on Sunday.

  2. SUNZU BROKE HIS ARM? Can u shed more light , its a very serious injury , what happened and any legalities? TP mazembe is in belgium? Also Jacob mulenga not travelling cos. he has an appointment with a DOCTOR is a lame excuse , let the comment come from the doctor now , i smell some cisushi here. Mbola four months ban when is it ending and why was the todler banned? Why the coach has not called SAKUWAHA that every fan has been crying for to replace JM. Lets be serious guys and deny those supper eagles the US$2500 or should i say negotiate each zambian player gets ka US$1000 after losing, but how can u stike this deal, with the opponent your are marking? After all FAZ is giving u nothing so why not negotiate for a cut, but knowing the crookedness of nigerians they cant pay u at the end.

  3. @^ Papa Wemba.
On paper Billy is still a good player. However, the former Lusaka Dynamos player has reached his peak. we need to use younger players. As for leaving out Sakuwaha & Clifford Mulenga Renard has made a big mistake. Why not employ Stephen Keshi if we cant afford an expensive coach?

  4. Thanks gumu gumu or gunkumu for the whereabouts of billy Mwanza,i think pipo have contributed much on SAKUWAHA and CLIFORD MULENGA let the coach hear please, if i were him i would include these players to proove themselves in the Nigerian friendly. Who is the assistant to HR is it Patrick Phiri? maybe talking to a local coach would be easier because renard does not speak Bemba(The language that most players speak and understand since they are uneducated)
