President, Michael Sata’s continued stay at his Omelo Mumba home has raised concern.

The UPND is wondering why President Sata has continued to reside outside state house two months after being elected Republican President.

UNPD Deputy Spokesperson, Cornelius Mweetwa claims the state of affairs has raised a lot of questions in many Zambians minds.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mweetwa has urged government to clarify PF Secretary General, Winter Kabimba’s trip to Brussels.

He says the two Months of PF in Government have been the most inconsistent and decimal.

Mr. Mweetwa was speaking at a news briefing.

  1. I thought Given Lubinda just explained why the president has continued staying at his residence. Why these questions naimwe ?

  2. The president wants to make money as the government is paying him $2500/ week to live at his own house.

Remember this is the man who deposited government money in a personal account to gather interest.

  3. LEAVE PRESIDENT SATA ALONE, PLEASE!
He is allergic to corruption. Just give corruption a different name then his allergic reaction will go!

  4. Ba Mweetwa you mean you will be nagging on everything, please choose what to criticize. Maybe you are just overexcited for being an MP. Choose what to talk about ba Mweetwa before you become irrelevant, you are just too young to practice tribal politics.

  5. Here we go again! Picking on non-issues. Aren’t they suppose to make renovations or changes to the State House living space for the new president to move in? RB did not expect to leave State house, so renovations might have start late. Does he expect the new president to simply move into the bedroom of the former president without making changes or making another room fit for the new president’s sleeping quaters? Probably if Mr. Mweeta found out, he will discover that the reason is as inosent as that. Not as sinister as he wants us to believe.

By the way, what questions are being raised and by who? And how many Zambians even knew that Sata had not yet moved his family into State House? Or to Mr. Mweetwa “many Zambians” means himself and a few UPND MPs—-LOL!!!!!

  6. State house is haunted and Sata is superstitious so he ain’t moving there anytime soon.

I hear he has asked some priests to cleanse the house of bad spirits. Apparently Chiluba had alot of iminyanga in the place.

  7. #10 Chiluba also suspected Kaunda of leaving ivinyanga in State House. The Born agains had to come and pray there to ‘cleanse’ it before Chiluba could move in.

  8. The situation gives us the reason for putting an article in our constitution about; DATE OF PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION and the DATE WHEN THE PRESIDENT MOVES INTO THE STATE HOUSE. Let first Tuesday of September be the election day; Let the newly elected President enjoy the title of PRESIDENT ELECT FOR THREE MONTHS; THE THREE MONTH PERIOD WILL BE ENOUGH TIME TO THINK ABOUT WHO TO APPOINT and to do the necessary State House Renovations or moving away of the furniture; This article shall allow for SMOOTH TRANSITION and HAND OVER.

  9. Some bloggers are behaving as if they are married to Michael Sata.Any query about Sata they jump to defend.please note some questions are genuinely looking for answers.Just answer if you can. There is no malice in asking such questions

  10. The finance Minister Mr Chikwanda’s company Apollo co. is renovating state house to remove RB corrupt cobwebs and replace it those employed by Sata like mr Chikwanda. Chiluba called it New Culture and Sata calls it Bemba Culture.

  11. Mwetwa boyi just tell your boss HH to go and rent there. You seem to worry so much about everything. Is it a southern thing??

  12. This is non-trivial – what renovations? If RB was living in a ramshackle, then he needs a lot of commendation. This is all about corruption and mysterious behavior. To overlook what Mweetwa has said is double standards. The President’s conduct has been less than impressive.

  13. Plz ba sata move.2 month sure mweetwa talyapo hihule de young man cn sure complain.anso ilyo mukakuka alatukayalya nabe mweetwa, kusenda yatatu yatatu

  14. under 5 with bold head full of water.free advice,as a young politician stop yapping yaping,yu will be like dora.try to behave like mutati, chituwo, and to some extent like muteteka.give up that ka position,yu are forced to yap,yap and yap senselessly.

  15. The President is a significant national asset whose security should be our concern. It would be nice if, for the sake of security, our President starts to reside at State House. I don’t think there is anything tribal or trivial about the matter. We should implore the single sourced Hon.
Chikwanda and Apollo to quickly complete the ‘renovations’.

  16. Imwe naimwe ba Mweetwa! Didn’t you read that Winter Kabimba is part of a three-man PF delegation which is  Brussels as guests of renowned German’ good governance NGO, Friedrich Ebert Stiftang to familiarise themselves with parliamentary democracy? What is your problem boss? Secondly, it is only you in UPND who see inconsistencies and decimal performance of the new govt. The common us see more successes than failures. We are generally happy with performance of PF GRZ. We know that they are human and have made a few mistakes but the good they have done outweigh the failures by far.

  17. MWEETWA YOU ARE A STUPID MAN. AND WHATS YOUR CONCERN IF SATA HAS NOT YET GONE TO STATE HOUSE? WHICH QUESTIONS AND IN WHICH PEOPLE’S MINDS?

  18. Zambians, It takes 3 months for the white house to be transformed into the Incoming president’s liking and for the outgoing president to handover office. MMD engraved their party symbol on everything at state house, those of you that have been mixing with plunderers you know that.

  19. Mwetwa has a validate point bana…I’m not UNPD supporter but his converns are geniuni..Sata is now a commander in Chief…It is like Obama with a special key for nuclear weapon in his pocket just staying anywhere…this is a huge security and logistical concern…State House is designed for effective 24/7/365 effective GRZ operation..Some of you taking about revovation dont know that state house has infrastrature to cater for more that six VIP families.. Kaunda and Kapwepwe once shared the state house resident. Ba Sata give advise and move…If you a christain, demons are under your feet.

  20. Chikala mweetwa don’t you and upnd have anything progressive to say apart from pf? please journalists spare yourselves some embarrassment by shunning this *****s press briefings because you are assured every time he opens his mouth, he will only talk about pf or sata at the expense of other serious national issues. Mweetwa if u continue in this direction u will soon become irrelevant because u r already irritating

  21. It was Sata and Miyanda who took catholics and Dr Kabuhaya to cleanse State House of the ghost of a certain late Premier before Chiluba could move in. I hear that Sata suspects there are two ghosts of deceased former occupants “Kamwendoling” in State House so he is keen to have Dr Sansakuwa and his brother-in-law Bishop Mpundu cleanse the place before he can move in. You must understand Zondwe is very suspicious. Though I do not envy his chief of security, with all the enemies he is making on a daily basis, residing in Omelo Mumba Road makes hiM such a nightmare of a security detail to protect. Maybe once he has a close shave like FTJ did with the gallant Capt Solo, he will scamper to State House.

  22. Mweetwa as a young politiian and first time Parliamentarian, best you will do is to cool down, learn few things before you start issues you hardly understand. In parliament, you are raising points of order on issues you have hardly understand, you are a smart guy but you need some humility and soberness!!!

  23. The presidential candidate for ADEDO political party during the run towards elections (though I did not see his name on the final presidential candidates’ list) said once voted into power, he was going to govern Zambia from his home in Mufilira… Just giving Cornelious more information.

  24. Both sides of the debate have a point. But what is it that which is important is sencerity. Sata is now above PF politics and a national assert for both those who voted for him and the other camp. Pro-Sata people stop thinking that his security is your concern alone, this man is far more important secuity wise that it is better he moves into Sata house. Also PF supporters recall that everyone has a business with Sata’s way of doing things including Mweetwa and yourselves. Therefore, stop insulting each other based on what is thought to be the right direction for this man.

  25. winter is in brussels in his capacity as PF general secretary because that trip is a party trip and not a government one that is why PF is footing all the bills

  26. @chillis here is the answer is it wrong for the president to wait for the renovation of state house before he shifts, or what is more expensive between renting at hotel intercontinental or just in your own substandard house

  27. iwe bantu,
its obvious he needs the house cleansed of all the juju that the former left. it aint easy been in plot one. even if you are a staunch catholic, your relatives will advise you to protect yourself, at the end of the day, it african for him to find the best n’ganga to do the house rituals.

  28. Tongas will not stop amazing me.Mweetwa tell Hakainde that you tongas will not rule Zambia. The reason is simple, you hate Bemba.

  29. Hahahaha, talk about being petty. Well, the fact is that State House is the office of the president. Politicians have no right to question the president’s decision to stay at his residence as long as he is working from State House.

  30. Serious contradiction here. Sata and PF gave themselves 90 days to produce tangible results; not necessarily completing projects. Still Sata comes out to demonstrate he is not even ready to get to state house 2 months after he was sworn in. The much talked about $2,500 rent to himself should be clarified by cabinet office or we demand a commission of enquiry to investigate single-sourcing of temporary lodging for Sata. Who is renovating state house? Was tender procedure followed? What is the cost and time frame set for renovation or ‘construction’ of state house? Any abuse of authority of office involved?

  31. This country needs good economical brains of HH to lead otherwise, you will keep on crying and defending wrong chaps for your more problems. I can no longer be cheated, enough is enough. keep your 90 days as i dont need it. These are fool s days.

  32. This country needs good economical brains of HH to lead otherwise, you will keep on crying and defending wrong chaps for your more problems. I can no longer be cheated, enough is enough. keep your 90 days as i dont need them . These are fool s days.

    • As a country, we have more educated technocrats in the ministries, we don’t need the Tonga Economics from HH. The economics of bragging of being rich but without CLASSY!!

  33. Ubupuba tabwakapwe all mweetwa is concernd about is safety of the principle(zambia one)do you think those who built the so called state house bfo u and were born were stupid, common think ubupuba tabucilapo.

    • I cant agree with you more….Cornelius may have been UNZASU president but he can never make a good national leader judging from this bupuba. VIVA Elias Chipimo….viva NAREP. good goin PF.

  34. :-wBooooooooooooooooring.. Mr. Mweetwa pleeeease for the love of criticism!!!! find something sensible to criticise. UPND is now synonymous with pettiness and jealous. W have stopped taking your concerns seriously coz you are tribal, bitter and inconsistent….Where is Elias Chipimo please, We need to maake you the strongest opposition leader in Zambia

  35. who told u  that HAKAIVOTELA UMWINE  is bralliant than me ,mwilaibepa at at akayuteka .a tonga  can only taka ingombe not human beings

  36. The problem with PF is that they act without thinking, RB wanted to build a new state house and HE was busy denouncing him. Now he realises that RB was right that State House is in a deplorable state…..
Oh what webs we entangle ourselves in.I would suggest that the Presidents handlers put a gag on him where he stops making off the cuff speeches except from prepared notes/speeches.
THIS WILL SAVE US FROM EMBARRASSMENT AS A NATION ,each time he speaks we have to fasten our seat belts.

  37. Whenever UPND is mentioned, some people develop immediate diarrhea that throws them into some frenzy of mumblings devoid of any intellectual content.

  38. pipo have no problem with satas stay at his home.we in zambia have not complained in any way.it is these childish politicians Hende hakaivotele who is bickering too much. zambians dont regard upnd anymore.they are weeping boys who have now become experts at tribal politics. bakaivotela beka aba bamambala.

  39. Some people are dellusional, ‘state house is in a deplorable’ state. Lol, since when? Have you even ever been to State House? RB wanted to build a fortress. Renovation and construction are two different activities.

  40. HH and his tonga vote are very insignificant in terms of votes, all they can do is make noise and insult other tribes, please count yourselves how many are you in Zambia because majority rules

  41. @SDA Hamonga Hanyoko- Spot on. HH has failed to realise that he is unelectable. He always comes third. Also, I think he is starting a tribal war by targeting other tribes and branding them tribalists. The truth of the matter is that if he claims that other provinces are tribalist, why is it that Sata, unlike him, improved his margins in all provinces including Southern?

  42. Mweetwa has a point imwe tu PF dont be too defensive in everything KABIMBA was courted in the POST NEWSPAPER yesterday addressing DIPLOMATS in BRUSSELS saying all THOSE DIPLOMATS who are not MMD will be spared but those for MMD, PF will remove them, is this not intimidation? Since when did PARTY SECRETARY GENERAL become FOREIGN AFFAIRS spokesperson. All MMD NATIONAL SECRETARIES including SATA himself never addressed DIPLOMATS on those lines its like we are in one PARTY STATE serious we are gone back to UNIP DAYS when FREEDOM HOUSE was more powerful than CABINET OFFICE no wonder KK is too close to SATA

  43. YOU GUYS SUCK! There is no way Sata should’ve just jumped into State house. Don’t you have constructive issues to talk about Cornelius? The house could be ‘bugged’ and there is need to have OP clearance and not only that RB handed over power in a dignified way so there was no need to burge into state house. If Sata did that I am sure you, the same people could have been condemning him for being so power-hungry.
Shows you what HH would have done if he was in the driving seat.
Viva PF…mukanaka fye ba UPND…5 years is long, long way. Already tamukwete ifyakulanda!

  44. Dull concerns ………..and finally as ususal these days – the TRIBAL trash!! Have we (you) all stopped thinking??

  45. pliz pipo, is it that you have nothing to talk about?? ba mweetwa i think mulefwaikwa inchito, ifyakuchita fyapwa….grow up for heavens sake……shaaaa

  46. Hon.Mweetwa..those are serious concerns but I can see some kolwestans here don’t agree due to their limited understanding of issues and repercussion..someday he shall be probed unless he dies b4!

  47. The juju aquired COBRA needs to be defused before living Omelo Mumba road house he will die if he wont fumbulula the juju

  48. Mweetwa you are a graduate so I surely did not expect you to be shallow minded like that. Is it excitement of being MP or what?? Look. Plot one (state house) is not like an ordinary house. you live in. Renovations for the new occupant is ineviatble not to methion the more serious asoect os ensuring that it is more secure as # 69 stated. Remember the FTJ revealed the security of the stae house so its not as secure as you magine. Just shut up..you will sooner than later be like Dora who was yapping. There is more wisdom in remaing mute and observe than yap for the sake of yapping.

  49. Mwaona manje, namahuule a kalipa.

LEAKS in are that prostitutes operating along Omelo Mumba Road in Rhodes Park are disgruntled with President Sata’s continued delay to relocate to State House. The huge police presence along the famous road has left the poor girls with no trading place.
Some have complained of having incurred losses of up to K 5 Million over the past month. They are earnestly appealing to the Head of State to move to State House as soon as possible lest they lose their clients, who obviously must have sought other markets.

  50. Mabvuto, you are an *****. Mweetwa has not insulted by questioning why Sata is not at state house. We need to know as a nation. What is he fearing at State House? When you insult then we know that you are a real *****.

  51. PLEASE GIVE BA KATEKA A BREAK. STATE HOUSE IS JUST A BUILDING – BUT BAKATEKA STATE HOUSE IS IN HIS BRAINS. INTELLIGENT MAN, WHOOPS!

  52. Will Bembas and Tongas ever get along?let Sata wait until state intelligence clears state house worthy. Question should be, why is Xavier chungu a ps?

  53. Good people it is okay for Mr.Sata to live at his house as long it is not costing the taxpayers any money. The Ministry of Housing and Local Govt should put an ad outside the State House “FOR RENT”

  54. This is what we call STU.PID foolish unrealistic criticism very cheap UPND??? That’s it??? no hope for you to be a real opposition. You are so shallow minded. What the Heck if he stays at his house?? Moreover it is cheaper for us than running that stu.pid state House.
Why rush Bwezani??? Also any house when someone leaves needs to be renovated you fool?? This is why everything is so messed up in Zambia because there is no maintenance.
    GROW UP UPND..

  55. UPND should find a Tonga-neutral spokesperson as PF had/have Lubinda. Everything Mweetwa or his boss says is always confused with tribalism. JUST advice ba up-and-down…. otherwise, what Mweetwa has said is 50% correct
