Do we have to block roads for Government to Listen?

Share

File:Zambian students at the Russian people's Friendship university (RPFU) on stage dancing to mozegata song "time time"

I would like to air my grievances over both the former and present government for continuously neglecting G.R.Z. students abroad. We have been airing our problems to them but all in vain.

I feel like it takes the blocking of the Great East road for them to understand that we are really in need of their consideration. Unfortunately being in a foreign country and Russia specifically is not a joke.

The only way we can air our views is through the embassy which I feel is doing practically very little or nothing at all.I don’t know if it was a political move or not but our friends back at UNZA and CBU have seen their allowances increased 225% during the past 3 years whilst for foreign student a
mere 25% for the same period of time.

We have tried our level best to convince them on simple arithmetic that even someone from all walks of life can understand “The costs of commodities have increased by over 70% in the past 3 years in Russia” which am sure is not felt by the so called diplomats we try to channel our grievances because their salaries have been continuously revised over the same period.

To make it worse our government can’t even give us the same little money on time. Right now as am speaking, the government has not yet sent the money for the student to buy their medical policies and are being threatened to expelled from school because its a law of the Russian Federation for all foreign students to have medical policies before the start of an academic year which starts in September.

I would like to remind the government that we are also Zambian students under Bursaries Committee and we deserve fair treatment.

  1. Don’t embarass yourselves ba vikarra with such stories. I was in Russia like you and you had to learn to survive one way or the other.
If you cant survive then russia is not for you. Dasvidania

  2. It was a mistake, in the first place, to send u to Russia for a first degree. Its a waste of tax money! And why are u suprised that ur allowances hav not been increased for some time? are u voters?

    • FOOLISH Simunyola you a big incorrigible greedy poor man..villager!!chicken dung!!!you have never been to Russia before perhaps living in the ghetto of USA.what re you even studying in that great country as the only fool?:)>-you are the best definition of an ***** just like your fellow inconsiderable officials!!!!i will beat you when i meet you ????!!!

    • ya mukombe ..we didnt know what Russia was really made of until we got here..its somehow unfair for GRZ to only consider our colleagues who are studying within the country when it comes to increment, especially the fact that it is only done for political gain and not for the well being of the students

  3. i guess all diplomats at the embassy should go.they re doing nothhing.recently two students were expeled frm the same skul.the embassy could ve intervened bt  no one defended the students.there were chances for them to continue according to the skul but our embassy could nt do wat they were required to do.especialy the education attache he is a waste of time

    • :(( it’s so sad that you can say a thing like that, do you even know the students in question, I personally know them and know what went on, their own school admin told them the only other option they had to continue studying at the university was to sponsor themselves and repeat, they had been missing classes and had accumulated academic debt, not even the embassy could do anything, it’s not even humanly possible to write all the exams they had outstanding… get your facts right next time.

  4. Why did you go there in the first place? Such stories have been there for a long time. Advice is that before you take up a Govt. scholarship to such countries, do due deligence and find out the conditions under students endure. Ask from former students of these countries for life experinces. Just endure and get your qualifications and come back home, them quickly advance your studies.

  5. Russia is the last place I would ever let my children go. Other than puttig up with all those bananas being thrown at you, the whether is pathetic!

  6. Russia is the last place I would ever let my children go. Other than puttig up with all those bananas being thrown at you, the weather is pathetic!

    • you villager!!!ta waishiba snow…its beautiful especially in moscow….its not cold all year round though.your kids are unqualified even for the last place in chibolya thus why they cant come over here..i m loving it but need the money lol

  7. Simunyola, it wasn’t a mistake. I can feel what these students are experiencing. I did my firsrt degree myself in Russia. i got so much knowledge that when i did my Masters at Liverpool and my PhD at Harvard, I felt i was naturally intelligent because of the solid background i had.

we need to invest in these students and increase their stipend a hundredford

  8. #6 Te fintu,

No, we DON’T need to invest in these students, instead we need to invest in OUR universities so that they start carryng out meaningful research. Any development begins in the lab, so as long as there is no political will towards research, the country will hardly develop.
Also, however intelligent u become after u earn ur degrees, as long as u dont contribute to nationa ldev through meaniful research, then u are a waste to the nation. The govt has been sending students to study abroad since independence, but

    • :((… AM cryin coz i feel u hav no insight, the reason y The Govnt sends students is to acquire knowledge wich is absent in our counrty, technology is not sent on a plane ,some one has to study it n bring it home,no matter hw much u invest if u dnt knw wat u invest into u cn neva attain development, there things wich dont exist in zambia ,which are a mere nuisance in europe,so if u think those students are a worst of time, think again, travel to one of these countries n compare it to zambia, then u wil knw that it is nt jst money that is required to b invested,do u knw y even big countries like america send people to learn else were, its not that they don’t hav the capabilities, its coz they wnt to expand there database,if u dont hv sight u cnt see benefits ,,,

  9. Simunyola. MMD have set a precence, all you have to do send your child abroad! I mean not to Russia. It is “cheaper” in the eyes of Dora and the other dimwits! UNZA is for those that can`t afford!

  10. Simunyola, dont be an ***** like the sound of your name. why do u think govt came up with an incentive of sending students abroad? think of solid reasons before u put that ignorant brain to work.

  11. Ochen Plakho,…

I thought it was only the price of Vodka that had increased, hehehe…

Perhaps i’m missing some,.. They want to come back all the way to block Great East Road,…?!

Anyway,… Zambians still go to Eastern Europe???!?

  12. #8 Bunga,
Education is a big ‘business’ in the west, they make alot of money frm intl students. and the zambian govt has been a gud customer ‘since independence. why cant we jst strengthn our edu system so that we internalise resaerch?
-most of the reasech in western universities are done with the help students. And this is not jst a source of income to students, but they also learn research skills. If u want to be dispointed jst go and giv a reasearch work to a UNZA or CBU garduate!

    • AGAIN tO mr simunyola… u hav totally no idea hw these things are called scholarships, am sure u dnt even knw who pays for those tution fee, u think the govenment wud send sum1 if the fees wer double those in zambia, hav u even attended a lab in europ n 1 in zambia,u jst concerned abt money man u nid a difrent hobby, the students here know alot about lab work, it is not jst the gud labs,i cn tell u sum labs r dirty with tecnology even older than zambia’s its the dedication, sum teachers hv to teach them, the ryt sourc n the environment,my frend, ask the Govnt y its called scholarship, they will tel coz its under russian budget …

    • Mr. Simunyola and all the others who are against our govt sending students to other countries are just plain stupid. 1st of all, education cant be “a big business” because we are here as a grant from the russian govt. our govt is required, according to their deal with the russians, to provide us with meal allowances, accomodation allowances, book allowance, a medical insurance policy amoung other things. the russians pay for our tuition, exams, research and anything else accademic, get your facts straight. secondly, our current accademic state in zambia cannot provide places for all high school graduates in universitys or collages, so the govt is forced to send some out. were lucky China, Russia and Algeria are taking in so many students. build more universitys at home first, then talk.

  13. It was indeed a mistake to send you to Russia especially for a first degree. Most of you got those scholarships in dubious circumstances.
Come home and enroll at Cavendish.
On a serious note, lets expand the capacity and quality of our universities and more funding so that we dont send students to Russia. We can actually make money from education as a country.
ZCAS is a living example of what a well run institution can achieve (Forget about Iris and Nathan)..
So come back PLEASE!! you are most welcome

  14. Let us be honest with ourselves for once and open up our eyes to reality. Firstly, the education system in eastern and western europe is more advanced than what is currently existing in out zambian universities- fact. But you are the same people talking about strengthening universities, in what way? My friends, bringing in fresh ideas from outside is one of the very few ways that such projects can be pioneered, and if you are talking about foundations, that was supposed to be done upon the institiution of these learning facilities. why is America such a great nation today? Because they were always open to ideas from outside that could improve the living standards of the nation as a whole. the age of pioneering ended in the 20th cent

  15.  i am studying in russia and its too expensive to live government does not even look after us no book allowance no project fee nothing only ka 1000 dollars which comes after 5 months and some weeks or 6months,from that same money  one should buy a medical policy which increases yearly these are our expenses
    $200…medical policy every year
$150….. visa and registration every year
    $500    hostels every six months
$50   transport every month to my university
    $100  every semister for research
we also have to buy books food winter clothes and shoes which are all expensive, some students even go to the black sea to dance shaka zulu songs for them to make money
some sleep with old women twapapata help!!!
we r suffering here we cried for sata but up to now no medical policy

    • the problem with pipo loke simunyola thinks that the zambian govt pays for us school feees.yayi mudala simunyola, our govt only gives us something for food.school feels is the russian govt which pays for us.only little changes frm our ministers is wat we get for books bt stil more they fail.wat if they were paying skul fees for us?

  16. #15, you cried for Sata? did you even vote? Ngafyashupa, bwelenkofye! besides, no ordinary Zambian will even benefit from your education apart from your families!

    • u know wat chiwela that is unwise of u to say so don’t behave ignorant i know u are not revise ur general knowledge in  economics u don’t have to study economics to know that one way or the other through my education the government of Zambia benefits even if its 100 kwacha . and yeah family first its the basic principle of life

    • you are chiwele wele not chiwela..you are very poor thus why you are not supporting development.i think you a grade seven failure!!who even helped you write english.selfish dog!!!!

    • uli kapuba iwe. i am a civil engineer, sponsored by the govt. dont you think the houses i will build will provide shelter for your brainless puny self? dont you think the roads i will build will make it easier for you to ride your bicycle to work? you would die without me, insignificant twit!!

  17. People try to reason before u put a stupid coment,u think it was a worst to bring students to russia or any other european country,, then u got no sight for future..

  18. @ marco pollo or wateva u call yoself you nid to revise your version of thinking. Just becoz you underwent hadrship does not mean all of us shud suffer. @ Simunyola your name sounds like a tribalist the gov is not only for the pipo that voted  it in power but for the pipo of zambia. do not make us conclude dat you an empty tin which u have managed to show us.

  19. Mr Simunyola, it is clear that u dnt understand a thing, we praise the zambian govnt for sending us here,if i may ask,do u knw who pays for tution,nt the salary we get bt the sku fees.,n u think the western countries earn frm sku labs n stuf, wich western country r u referin to am sure its nt russia or rather the sku i go to,u say invest in our local university thats recomedable,bt wat r u investin wen u don;t knw the tech, even western countries send studs to study abroad so that the expand the’r knowledge n here u think zambia is wastin resources, yeah has the govenment employed the pipo it sends to study abroad, thats another isue n its nt student fault that there is no employment in zambia,o in govnt,so u cnt blame them for no doin any research u might say ,

  20. Those of you who are against the govt offering scholarships to study abroad are total morons. Are u trying to show us what kind of social status u exist in? thats why the govt offer scholarships u *****, to those who cannot afford to pay for their own education. I must admit the conditions of study, including the student allowances are not too pleasing, but the knowledge offered in countries like Russia is next to gold, far from what cbu and unza offer. dont you think that could be vital inout inti improving  Zambias educational sector at university level? And this ***** says enrol at cavendish.

    • oh please Alpha how many zambians have been out studying in Russia and how many have come back to teach others thats the whole reason govt sends them there to impart the knowledge back to the ordinary zambians that didnt get the chance…patriot my foot whilst praising other nations cbu,UNZA,evelyn hon,Nipa to mention but a few has produced real patriots that are currently slaving for our country…..this bursaries thing should even be scraped out and give it to the zambian students that are attending school in local institutions

  21. #19 barussia,
I dont know who pays u ur tuition, but since u ar asking for alowances frm the gov, one wouldnt be wrong to assume that zambian gov pays ur tuition fees. U shud come to the US and see how money is made in the lab, apparently Russian universities arent strong enough to make money. Its ok to send students abroad, but not at the expence of developing our own universities!

    • well if frm the begining it was at the expense of building our local university don’t u think they wud have done something about?? Well unfortunately the russian government deals with o students on budget apart frm ther allowances,u shud hav collected such data before put a big blame on them, if only it was the allowance we needed am sure this guy wudn’t have gone online,n u cnt blame the student about studying abroad for u r also abroad wether on self or sponsored doesnt carry weight, has there been a day wen the govnt said we cnt pay zambians at UNZA coz we sent money to russia?? No i dnt think so,so y wud u think we get paid at expense of local Uni,we are equally entitled, wether we voted or not, mind u we don’t vote once in life ,just like we don’t live forever in russia

  22. The GRZ makes it clear when sending students here that its up to your families to help you where GRZ cant. GRZ pays you US$250 month which is given to every 4 months(a sum total of US$1000). There is no year or month in which students were never paid. The question is: how much money do your parents sent to help you(per month or per year)? Most of you students do send money from BC home to help you parents, brothers and sisters. SOMETIMES YOU NEED TO APPRECIATE WHAT YOU GOT.

  23. I stand to be corrected, the study in Russia is not paid for by the Zambian Government but is under scholarships from the Russian Government. the scholarships are just administered by Bursaries but funding comes from the sponsoring Government which in this case is the Russian Government. If this is correct it may assist you to direct the request for increments to the appropriate authorities that grant scholarships in Russia

    • do not comment if u have no data about the scholarship, its a two way scholarship the russian government pays 4 education and gives the students book allowances and the zambian government gives the students meal allowances!

  24. @Simunyola. You are in the US but your brain still cant be fed with the right info becoz of your thick headed nature apparently.  are u a supporter of Pan Aficanism? that is a good trait, but all I can say is this, get your head  right! U think most african countries have the resources and skilled labor to match these former super powers? That is what the govt is doing, investing in skilled labor. And by the way, what are u doing in the US, are u an illegal immigrant?:-\”

  25. Ernest, you sound like an ***** as well. I study in Russia, I have seen all the documentation. All our universities here know that we get our allowances form THE ZAMBIAN GOVT. Please investigate thoroughly before you show the whole world u are an ignotamus

  26. The scholarships are offered by the Russian govt. Student upkeep is taken care of by the ministry of education under the Zambian. Some of u are just so sore because u never had the chance to study abroad. Just shut up before u make a total fool out of ur self

  27. In order for a country to develop it invest in many ways, term investment doesn’t mean u jst hav to rip money at the end,or it being local owez,1 of the ways has bin sending the students, abroad, jst coz its a scholarship doesnt mean u cn say wat u hv to ,To Mr Simunyola the tutions are paid by the govnt,TO IDI DAMOI am sure wen cumin they told u that u will b living freely in the hostel, tho we pay others pay as much as 1000 plus dollars pay yr,aint the govnt suppose to tek cr of that ,aint i wonder wich BC u refer to bt i neva got it in 4mnths,its owez 5,do ur calcs well, anyway the point is ,we r nt difrent from studs at unza, coz even at unza their top ups are being increased, y cnt our be too,or are u sayin that ours are top ups while unza n cbu are are nt,, ???

  28. Most of you are talking of investing back home in education, let me remind you that the present students stand as assets for our countries future…if not well managed we will end up loosing our educated people to the same Europe which is busy brain draining poor countries by offering citizenship to professionals….

  29. I have seen and heard a lot of students go on scholarships and I will be going on one next year. I have never heard of a scholarship where the Zambian Government tops up. We have students at college who have also been demanding for sponsorship from GRZ but to no avail. I believe if Government has to send students abroad where it is actually paying for the students then it should be for skill that cannot be obtained locally because of the expenses involved

    • I for one am telling you this because I study here and I know how the system works, these are goverment offered scholarships, not scholarships being offered by private institutions in conjunction with state owned universities. Do you understand now? or do i have to use source code?

  30. we know some of you have been waiting for this time to fire back because you were not picked to study in Russia..its not our fault that they didnt pick you..sending students to Russia is the agreement of zambian Government and the Russian to strengths they relationship..so you bloggers you must think before sending that dull heads of yours to work..

  31. I agree with Gucci, think twice before you let your emotions fly. as for Ernest, the scholarship u are being provided with is one given by a private agency in conjunction with state owned universities. The Russian scholarships are a form of international relations between Russia and certain countries, which even trace back to the days of the soviet union. Think before u talk

  32. THIS IS NOT NEWS!
IN CHINA THE ACCOUNTANT USES OUR MONEY TO ACCUMULATE INTEREST FOR MONTHS BEFORE PAYING, IF ITS THE EDUCATION ATTACHE I TELL YOU HE IS JUST A RELATIVE TO SATA

  33. i  hear the  pipo  at  the  BC  are   not  even picking  the  fonez! Nzelusaupuba!!!!!!!Zambian students  are  the  least paid! and  as if  it  not  enough the  small  we  get  is  always delay!Mrs  Chilwa  Madam do  something for  us  please! Mr Mundambo  does  not  tell  you  the the  really problems we face    he  has  an  inferiority  complex!!

    • Who pays you? The Zambian Government or the Embassy?? The job of the education attache is to inform the Ministry of Education in Zambia about your problems, even if he wanted to help what? you expect him to feed you and not his family? Ask the Zambian Government for an increment not the people working at the embassy.

    • I think you and I need to chat. Am also in China though not on govt sponsorship but I’m trying to help out a friend here whose in a dire situation!!! Risks getting expelled for failure to pay fees, and believe me it’s not for lack of trying. The situation is just bad mwandi, but our embassy as usual, useless, cant even lift a finger to help or anything. Holla!

  34. yes really true, right now the goods and services have increased,we surely need the money so that we can be able to carry out our school projects on time and also the medical policy.

  35. yes really true, right now the goods and services have increased,we surely need the money so that we can be able to carry out our school projects on time and also the medical policy.

  36. guys u are jst facking lazy, i was in Russia with the same zedian scholarships but i used to teach english and i was getting 20 dollars per hour 5 to 8hrs per day 7days a week and in summer i used work in constructions i was getting a minimum of 95 dollars a day .so guys stop complaining like bitches. for girls its understandable.asshole hard u will be heads of yr respective families .

    • dont lie chikala!! 1st of all, they pay a maximum of 1000p ($30) at construction sites, ive been there. secondly, its impossible to work at a contruction site continuously and do well in school. unless ure doing photocopying and binding like you did. you dont know the current situatiation in russia. its practically impossible to teach english now, because they are more strikd about work permits now. if you get caught, you pay a 50000p ($1700) and your university pays 500,000p ($17,000) so they would much rather expell you and deport you. yali kosa.

  37. guys u are jst facking lazy, i was in Russia with the same zedian scholarships but i used to teach english and i was getting 20 dollars per hour 5 to 8hrs per day 7days a week and in summer i used work in constructions i was getting a minimum of 95 dollars a day .so guys stop complaining like bitches. for girls its understandable.asshole hard u will be heads of yr respective families

  38. simunyola the way you express yourself leaves me in doubt if you’re really a teen (as you claim to be) or you’re still an under five maron??? first and foremost, which village fellow of yours did you consult that the tuitions for these scholarships are footed under government budget?? these are 100% funded scholarship by the Russian government(in terms of tuition) the only issue in hand is keep-up allowance which we receive from our own government. its too little to sustain our leaving here. at the moment Zambia is not capable of educating all its intellectuals, thats why it needs a hand from other cooperating partners(Russia)..be objective in your reasoning kid..

    • had it not been for russia, you would not have been using what ever ur using to put the comment here, RUSSIA MADE CHEMISTRY. all those transistors, diodes, capacitors in your little device, its the work of the periodic table…and the russians made it……even USA fears russian scientists…NOW TELL ME WHY I SHOULD NOT GO TO RUSSIA?

  39. Marco Pollo Mapollo Yako..am sure your real name and in no doubt sound in those lines! you claim to be educated in Russia but why can’t you tell us if you graduated or they expelled you from school? you don’t seem to posses any intellectual capability that can be seen from any Russian graduate. keep on roaming the streets of zed…

  40. I intended to say your common sense is actually limited, use your brain to the expected level of its working capacity, I just trolled you

  41. @ mwaba
there are those who have opportunities to study in other countries in which english is spoken but unfortunately for us the opportunity we had was this one and above all unza BC is never 100% so if my pare cant assist with the other percent, russia is the oppotion on the plate and off-course cuba and algeria and china of which language is involved
    so u see our positions

  42. Italian Bunga Bunga(Original), Simunyola, Nte…etc. We know you were sent abroad for studies by MMD through your parents or close relatives to Chiluba. Even Congolese went to study on Zambian bursaries leaving actual Zambians in the cold. We know you very well, just like Kunda’s children and his young brother’s children are at same university with my own kids here in UK. They used to receive 2500 pounds per week while Unza and CBU students got peanuts. You benefited from MMD govt and now you ‘ve turned against it because your uncles Chungus and Bwalyas are in PF govt.

  43. kwanshi muya you should even be grateful that you are on bursaries that you never even pay back even just out of respect for your so called silly govt……start shouting at those that have not yet payed back to govt then govt will do something we have too many problems back home…..to start worrying about out of town chaps come back and learn at UNZA…..going to russia algeria those countries are even worse than zambia all because of wanting to go abroad.

  44. and someone asks ‘Why go to study in Russia of all countries in the world?’ and i always ask?? why not????im enjoying it here..im a med student self sponsored and in my 5th yr..every holiday i go back home and do my holiday practice at UTH…my skills and knowledge out-class some of those you call unza grads…so why not russia??

  45. honestly pipo are ignorant ba mwaba u hav neva studyd in russia if u do ur research
u find that russia has among the best minds in the world en there education system is second to
none …so dnt jus yap anyhow …we are nt complainin about the education or anything ,..we want us to be supported by our govt…dnt forget that we earnd our scholarships by workin hard so cut us some slack and shut up…we are the ones that will bring the much need expertise to zambia …..we need an increment asap…..

  46. Too bad for students in Russia, i hope BC will listen and act fast. China is the best place, BC money is more than enough and beside our embassy is very supportive, they pay us on time and the embassy organises meetings with students whenever some leader from ZED comes, recently we dinned with KK. Thumbs up to our embassy in BEIJING, no wonder her ecellency C Musenge has not been recalled by the cobra , she is doing a recommendable Job. Continue mama. I wish the embassy in Ruski can learn from us here.

    Thanks

  47. Most f you are talking of investing in Zambia’s education,Let me remind you that the present students stand as assets for our countries future and if not well managed we will end up loosing our educated Zambians to the same Europe which is busy brain draining poor countries by offering citizenship to professionals.

  48. Sanchez. just because u’re enjoying and dining with dignitaries doesnt mean every student in China has it easy. A student from my uni in Dalian tried to get help from that embassy u’re praising but to no avail and now risks being sent back to Zambia next year.

  49. you are chiwele wele not chiwela..you are very poor thus why you are not supporting development.i think you a grade seven failure!!who even helped you write english.selfish dog!!!!

  50. sie on 37…having people of your type, illiteracy and stupidity is a setback to the development of our  great country. you clowns should get your malfunctioned senses in order and visualize reality. how can you compare UNZA and CBU  to any European university?? mind you my university has a place on THE WORLD UNIVERSITY RANKINGS. I got my scholarship to come and study abroad in this eastern part of Europe due to my excellent performance in my academics. pity to you with your trades certificate you got from whichever trades school you went to (if any)

  51. People please…… these students went to study so they could come back and develop our country. In the first place it’s not their fault they went to study. Government introduced this initiative and they
took their opportunities, if government cannot afford then they should abolish it or reduce the number of receipients than to make these kids suffer like that. I feel for you kids it’s not easy being overlooked in a foreign country, let alone banana Russia….

  52. Those living or studying abroad will agree with me that if you ever needed any kind of help the Zambian embassy is the last place you should go to. They don’t care, their priorities are their personal agenda.

  53. For the sake of you ka mwamba and all those who think tht Russia education is useless..here are some facts for you.. today russia has today of 407 universities and academic institution ..these can be related  some of the greatest minds tht Russia has produced in the last 100yrs..Vladimir Demikhov, major pioneer of transplantology Vladimir Filatov, ophthalmologist, 1st to perform corneal transplantation Svyatoslav Fyodorov, inventor of radial keratotomy Georgy Gause, inventor of gramicidin S and other antibioticsVera Gedroitz, the first female Professor of Surgery in the world

  54. Waldemar Haffkine, invented the first vaccines against cholera and bubonic plagueGavriil Ilizarov, invented Ilizarov apparatus, the apparatus used to fix broken fractures.. the list is endless..we have our every own pathologist professor Nkandu luo..professor chilwa in Aerospace engineering..the russians are the best at what the do..their methods maybe old but im proud to be here and looking forward to having my first degree in med from Russia..

  55. Russia discovered science, russia was and its still the only country which can send and bring back pipo to space,Russia discoverd the periodic table of elements, russian scientist pavlov his work in medicine is being used anywhere in the world even at unza, russian scientis BONCH BLUVICH discovered the optic fibre technology and the whole world is using that in telecom, doctors 4rom russia are the best doctors working in zed, russia produced even the most educated zambian prof CLIVE CHILWA,he has done a lot in the aviation industry the whole world relies on him, he is the adviser to the european union, airbus,  harvard university even to the russian governmet..AND THEN A FOOL WHO WILL GO ON TO TO SAY WHY STUDY IN RUSSIA? which zambian scientist has invented anything 4rom unza?

  56. hey overseas or watever u call urself  do u think we dnt try 2 find jobz …its nt easy especially in smaller city …..so jus shut it…..en kip quite it aint u who is sufferin….

  57. 58. Waldemar Haffkine, invented the first vaccines against cholera and bubonic plagueGavriil Ilizarov, invented Ilizarov apparatus, the apparatus used to fix broken fractures.. the list is endless..we have our every own pathologist professor Nkandu luo..professor chilwa in Aerospace engineering..the russians are the best at what they do..their methods maybe old but im proud to be here and looking forward to having my first degree in med from Russia..

  59. Chimunyelo OR Simunyola,u r an *****!do u know how advanced education is in Russia as compared to Zambia?Don’t u know that development starts in the brain?.When we graduate we r bringin back development to zed.Without proper fundin,do u think students will be at peace when they r being chased for not payin MEDICAL INSURANCE?BITCH reason b4 u tok son of a GUN!!We will make sure that SATA Gets the message.IF IT MEANS HACKING and SENDING the MESSAGE to ALL GOVT SITES,We will do that for us to be heard…R.I.P Embassy of Zambia in Moscow,U r Doin Nothin…NO PEACE!!!!

  60. IF OUR PLIGHT WONT BE MET BY THE END OF THIS MONTH WE ARE GOING TO BURN THE EMBASSY DOWN!!!!! VIVA STUDENT POWER!!!

  61. in the first place selection criteria for studying abroad is very questionable. not many zambians know about this opportunity and only those with connections are the ones who benefit. however govt should not abandon its responsibilty over the students even if they are MMD carders’ children or they are carders themselves

  62. What do u mean which roads in Russia? u are the foolish type with which a sensible conversation cannot be established. We are talking about education and not road infrastructure

  63. @ Ernest 31 Most the scholarships abroad which come through Bursaries Committee are taken care of by the host country. This includes Tuition, Lodging, Medical Insurance and a living allowance. However in many instances the host country does not provide an air ticket and the living allowance is meager and this is where GRZ comes in. Hence the name top up allowance.Very few scholarships are lucrative with lots of upkeep money at least those which come through B.C.Scholarships with good financial incentives are very very competitive!

  64. I agree with 55 Gee! Not all students in China are having it easy, perhaps those living in Beijing. But other cities are just so damn costly!

  65. the permanent secretary of the ministry of education shud be fired and caged, very useless sturbon and moody chap…….Mr Mundambo enjoys sittin and eatin more than workin….he is gettin fat n fat everyday.the other day i cudn’t even recognize him ……can someone tok to this ignorant man man b4 Sata prepares a cell for him for wasting the tax payers money!!!!!!**==

  66. @Mulondwa muzungu,, Iwe mulo wich scholarships cums with those u jst mentioned, are u even in 1 of them, those are jst written on paper,Med policy, logging,n living cums frm the government, only tution cums from the host,,atleast wer i am

  67. Sir Simunyola is talking like a retard!!! He is probably retarded…you think people who are studying in russia are not zambians whose parents pay tax back home? After completing our studies here in russia, we are going back home to work for mother zambia, and we deserve good studying conditions, being in a foreign country is not a joke, in russia to be specific. So, Sir Simunyola shut your ass if u ain’t got nothing positive to contribute to solving this problem, you think everyone is in the US where everything is going smooth like you? The above stated problem is really big and has to be attended to by the govt as soon as possible.

  68. we have bin very patient wit the govt now we want change…pipo complain that u dnt hear about scholarships u shud read the newspaperz en u ll get the info dnt jus hate on pipo who deservingly got scholarships…research dnt jus concentrate on drinkin chibuku and loiterin on the streets…we hav a genuine complaint that shud b heard by the govt…

  69. @ Barussia, 79 I completed my Master’s degree from India not more than 6 months ago under the Indian government scholarship through B.C. I was given A return air ticket, free accommodation, I did not pay any tuition, I had medical coverage from the university clinic and any other government hospital, i got 12000 rupees( $270) a year for book allowance which BTW is more than enough to purchase books in India, Additional 7000 rupees ( $155) for my thesis printing, photocopy etc and an upkeep of 5000 rupees which was not enough but was supplemented by the $250 a month from GRZ. Any blogger who has been on an ICCR Scholarship will agree with me. You can also check for yourself the benefits of the ICCR scholarship from this link :http://www.iccrindia.net/studentwelfare.html!

  70. @ Barussia . 79 to continue I am currently in China under the Chinese Government Scholarship program. I do not pay for tuition, accommodation, i get a monthly allowance and I have medical insurance. There are two ways of getting the Chinese government firstly those which come through B.C and secondly directly from the universities and I got mine through the latter. So in my case I do not get top up from GRZ. The main reason they sited is that since I was sponsored in India I need to work for two years before being sponsored again. I said F.U.C.K to that and I came here. The money the Chinese give is sufficient for upkeep and you can extra money here which of course many foreign students do. Teaching English, modeling etc. Some guys work as Dj’s and some do trading with links back home!!

  71. @ Barussia, 79 so either go to India or come and join me in China! Looks like you are not getting a good deal. In which country are you by the way?

  72. Sorry my Russian student-Zambians, but campaign to your family members that next presidential elections, they have to vote for the Real Change Team of UPND which is currently giving PF a run in the Chongwe by-election.

  73. Well,I also graduated from Russia.
Russia is the best place to go if u want engineering courses.

To people who don’t know about Russia.
Chinese,South Korea, vietnam, iran,Syria,Libya etc all send students to Russia.Russia was the first country to find electricity just to make our Unza students more aware. In addition to that most lacturers at Unza are from Russia.
I’m enjoying my work Coz of Russia.

Mind u Russia has beautiful women you can think of.

  74. Hardship is everywhere be strong guys, above all don’t depend on the Government with all your strength. You will be disappointed at least venture into self help to survive. Some of us have never bn to skool, how i admire the Graduates and wish them all the best.

  75. if yo truly understood the Zambian economy you be grateful for that $1000, not saying that it’s enough but at time we need to appreciate. stop talking about things you are not sure about.

  76. tenzokamba ati ba vikala are not workin mwenzo’ona kwati niboza.
let Mundambo come back home…..i think ana sanduka chabe chakolwa ku russia.
Kayumba is trying, the rest of the diplomates nibama gelo chabe……atase!!!!!

  77. Sipopa boi wakamba,nezo’ona monga unasila….
i think ise bamene tiziba chitundu ndise tizankala ma diplomates
    not aya maduvi…..bambuli……

  78. Its a pity to learn that some bloggers always prefer to comment from the air.The truth, its always better to realise that our comments shld be objective so as to chat way forward vis-a vise, hw arising issues might be solved. The issue herein above,is quite serious and needs our undivided attention.

  79. The Education attache,Mr.Mundambo is a big let down.Up to now he has failed to furnish us with a concrete answer as to wen our medical insurance fees wil be paid. All he says is,”But you know what Chimumbwa, madam Chirwa is not picking”.The same drama all year round.Did he come here to enjoy cruising his pick up on Moscow roads?Uh,one problem tho.Students re so damn disorganised to comfront the powers that be.

  80. its very sad that our embassy( Mr Mundambo) is not performing his duties as the man responsible for student affairs in russia. personally,i suffered coz of him. Real change is required. Calling for mr mundambo to resign coz he has failed to perform.

  81. To all those who claim that they will come back to work in Zambaia after completing ur studies in Russia (or india?), my message to u is that: you don’t NEED Russian education to work and contribute to develpmt of zambia. Russssssian education system is best suited and applied to the country of Russia, and not Zambia. Thats why u fail to perfom when u come back. If u want to prove me, jst do a random survey, to compare the productivity of those studied abroad and those who went to CBU/UNZA.
-So principally speaking, its not justifiable to continue sending students to Russia for a first degree!

  82. And its quite unfortunate to hear some pipo screaming loud here.Suggesting that the $1000 per semester is ok.This is not a maternity ward or a mourning place.I kno u re looking @ it frm the Zambian angle(The mentality even diplomats stil can’t fight).U might even have multiplied it with some figure close to 5000 and u realised the product wud inevitably afford u a 50 yr old Japanese wheelbarrow.Maybe u try to look @ it frm the European angle?Well,u don’t ve to close yo eyes to imagine hw very different economies can be!!!No surprise tho that u will still choose to ignore the truth on the ground. But God help u so that u don’t find yourself in a similar uncomfortable situation in which case u’ll be the first one to castigate the leaders and hurl a sea of unheard insults.

  83. Sir Simunyola or wat ever u call yoself panyopako…….u the biggest ***** i av ever seen.
its very surprising that retard chaps like u r still living in the 21st century busy denying
civilization…..u shud go back to the late stone age era!!!!!!!!!

  84. Mr.Simunyola, sorry 2 react but I thnk yo threads ve raised more unnecessary dust than providng object & mature counsel.Indeed the Bible makes it clear wen it says “There is accomplishment where there is a multitude of councilors”.Be a councilor!!And another adage goes like “A problem shared is a problem (half)solved. Now in yo own personal understandng & judgement, u ve deliberately chosen 2 castigate the pipo bringing the problem. Why?We re not competng wth our fellow UNZA/CBU studs.NO!!!If anythng they all wud lyk 2 come here 4 there 1st degrees. Its strange hw u ve found ths letter a podium 4 u 2 exhaust yo condensed anger against us.Is it an opportune tym 4 u 2 start pouring out yo grudges now that we ask 4 our meager entitlement?Does it make u hapi 2 see us struggle 4 no reason?

  85. but mulasabayila guyz even wen u dont av anything to tok about .ka $1000 finishes in one week after getting paid.and some of us pay huge amounts of money for hostels in which we live.the universities dont care hw much yo govorment pays u,the only thing they care about is u payin yo dues on time.n in some hostels if u dont pay on time they wil get back the room key frm u n chase u outside the hostel n they wont allow u to get in again untill u pay .they dont care where u will go aftawards.@ sir simunyola i dont know y ur being so negative about everything but i bliv u know y in yo heart.wat i cant tell is dat t we appreciate the little our goverment is givin us,but we nid an increment bcause the commodities here increase every year n dats nt our fault.the goverment brought us here.

  86. GRZ should just increase our stipends instead of wasting money on those chiefs who are up to no good but witchcraft!

As a matter of fact,I´m doing Medicine here in Cuba and in 5th year and if they do not take good care of me,I´m going to Venezuela,Chavez is paying good money…a doctor gets $17,000 US.per month.
To hell with all your saying our families should help, scholarshps is for vulnareble but viable students .How do you expect my father who takes care of 6 children, pays rent and has to travel to and fro work and worse still his net salary is 3 million to send me money?…..

  87. Them students from Angola get $ 500 per month,Seychells $400,Botswana $450 per month,Lisotho $400,Zimbabwe $350,Libya $10000,even Malawi gets something like $400.
Plus most of you Zambians who are overseas know how people look at us who come fro Africa…Now can you imagine yourself BROKE and from AFRICA,thats a shame to our countries…

  88. FINAL WARNING!
In the event that GRZ does not pay me accordingly…..upon my graduation I have options,I can go to any of these islands,it could be Trinidad and Tobaggo,Bermuda or Antigua and Barbudas.Everything depends on GRZ now !

  89. :((:((:(( BA SIMUNYOLA mwati mwenze na brain ku sku,.i cry for u to attain wisdom,n nt jst knowledge mr simunyola, because u don’t seem to know development,if i may ask hw did u knw that that white stuff they put in relish is salt???Mr simunyola,if people neva walked the earth u wud stil think the world is flat,if no wyt man came to zambia u wud still b sitting on copper without realising its value, people who study abroad do difrent stuff, tell me hw cn a student doing networking in zambia do a project on 3G network wen he hasn’t seen the server itself, western countries hav developed in many ways,n we learn n share it in our countries,Serious i got no words for Ur ignorance surpasses human understanding,

  90. instead of planting money in the soil, lets us support these future leaders of our country. education is the best investment a country can ever make. we know that agriculture is equally good but planting paper money in the soil money sivintu. may the confisicated 2 billion kwacha channeled to meet the demands of these brains of country. I rest my case…..Hon liato(mp)

  91. Russian students lets stand together, work shoulder to shoulder, making sure we speak louder than ever before. These buffoons who ve never bin abroad re just jealousy.Busy yapping frm without.Get a life 4 once en learn hw to mind yo own business.Shaa!!
