PF has failed to tackle unemployment

An opposition member of parliament has charged that the PF government has failed to tackle unemployment.

UPND’s Jack Mwimbu also said in Parliament that the PF’s promise of tackling many issues within 90 days have not born fruit.

He said with only six days before the 90 days of delivery comes to an end, many Zambians remain unemployed and the promises made in the campaign have not been met.

Mr Mwimbu said many people are unable to access the CEEC fund especially those in rural areas making it even more difficult for them to empower themselves.

  1. 90 day theory is not real please, this MP is dull. thats why he can never take development to his constituency, are you seriously going to wait for Sata? try and come up with schemes that will help your people. get up stand up!!!

  2. Zambians are stupid people period, that’s way a man like MCS can find himself president of a country. How one can believe and get excited of  the 90 day development promise is mind boggling and boarders on insanity.

  3. Pipe it down Jack boy, are we magicians to do everything in 90 days? There are still at least 4.5 years  remaining so just chill and stop looking for silly faults.

  4. Oh please! You of all people should understand the implication of these promises…Their sole purpose was to put into play a systematic process of governance that would propel the economy to better times…In my estimation, they have done a pretty good job so far.  What would have been the point of creating jobs and what not if the previous government left a mess of things? Kwisa eko mwaumfwa ati state house naikwata inkongole ya zesco? let alone K200+ billion worth of Zesco Bills? Kwisa eko mwaumfwa that former ministers are burrying 2.1 Billion, let alone 23 year old kids having over 2.6 Billion…??? Things are a mess, and unless there is a mass clean up, any efforts to bring development wont be as effective…

  5. The only people who should be singing the 90 days song are those who voted for PF, if you did not vote for PF like like failed lawyer shouldn’t be reminding us of 90 days because you  never believed it in the first place so why talk about it now.
If numpties like Jack stopped opening the mouths every so often and concentrated more on cultivating busala there will be enough employment in S.Province

  6. 90 days.. What did you espect from Sata cheating and lies.Running a country is not easy.. The PF can be given 90 years Zambia will go the waste.. Now vandalism has been liberlized what messed up country

    • SURELY, THIS MCS OF YOURS,IS FULL OF LIES. REMEMBER HE TOLD THE NATION THAT WHAT HE EATS IS WHAT CIVIL SERVANTS ARE GOING TO EAT MEANING’ BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND SUPER. WAS HE SINCERE? AND TODAY HE WANTS TO GIVE CIVIL SERVANTS 4% SALARY INCREAMENT. WHAT A DECEIVER? MCS GO BACK TO YOUR PROMISES DURING CAMPAIGN.

  7. yeah … GRZ is an institution and not a party. PF is running GRZ together with opposition through parliament. That said, GRZ has a responsibility to continue to provide services to us citizens, develop infrastructure and report back to us.
This also means that GRZ solves problems from the past.
Ask yourself this, have you ever heard Obama or Cameroon, or Zuma blame the previous administration? Don’t think too hard, the answer is “No”. This is because they have a vision, an objective and an understanding that they have a job to do.
Making excuses, blaming our ancestors makes for good reading, but does not benefit anyone.
We were promised jobs, more money in our pockets, etc. While 90 was a complete joke, we at least expect some kind of a roadmap. Is there a plan?

  8. Very poor article. Guys, we are not from the streets so we know that unemployment cannot be reduced in three months.
Policies to curb unemployment have not been put to table because at the current time the PF has focussed on protecting the employed.
Moreover, we must understand that employment can only come with education. Education must be tackled first.

  9. This is ridiculous, you cannot pull jobs out a hat in 90 days. Shaking my head at the UPND MP trying to gain political milage. Ok could everyone please just work in government and for once PF, UPND and MMD elected officials just shut up and work.

  10. This MP should have known this was just cheap plain politics of getting somebody into plot one.Afterall politicians always promise to build bridges even where there’s no river and when they see light at the end of the tunnel they go out and buy more tunnel. In other words if we get to the promised land they know they’re finnished. So we’ll never get there Mr Mwimbu.

  11. :x Give the man chance. He has done what MMD has failed to do in 20years eg tax threashold K 2M at 0% what more. The problem tatutasha

  12. Parliament or Govts do not manufacture jobs it is the businessmen and women who create jobs in the market place. All I ask all those men and women in Parliament is to come up with laws which will help the creation of more jobs by businesses.

  13. IT IS REALLY STRANGE THAT EVEN BANTUSTANS EXPECT DEVELOPMENT AND JOBS WITHIN 90 DAYS. LET US BE REALISTIC PEOPLE, PF FOUND SO MANY IRREGULAR THINGS IN GOVERNMENT AND THEY ARE TRYING TO MAKE CLEAN SO THEY CAN WORK PROPERLY. THE MANNER IN WHICH THE GOVT WAS BEING RUN BY THE MMD WAS PATHETIC AND WHAT WE USED TO SEE AND HEAR WAS JUST A TIP OF AN ICEBERG. SO KEEP THINKING ABOUT 90 DAYS AND YOU WILL REAP NOTHING. WAIT FOR 5 YEARS!

  14. u r talking about tax threshold being adjusted u should ve gone further and talk about salary increament which should be K5MILLION-as was the campaign promise. This man has to honour his promises how he does it we do not care.THE FACTS R THAT HE MADE PROMISES

  15. This one is a siilly MP. Instead of coming up with initiatives for creating jobs within his constuency he is diverting attention to PF. How pathetic is that? Should really 90 days be something to judge a govt by that has just been elected to run for 5 years? MPs should raise their game by discussimg long term strategies( training of teachers, doctors, nurses, engineers, taxation regime etc). Instead we have a dimwit asking for a sudden change in the employment numbers – this is disgusting.

  16. “The Rhetoric Zambian” sometimes I tend to wonder how otherwise suspected intellectuals like you manage to balance intelligence and dullness in a single system. To say that Zambians are stupid people is reflective of oneself. Find something unique on your cognitive domain, cheap vulgarities will never earn you a living, but I strongly believe its a recipe for disrespect. If you feel you are better than MCS, why are you not president?

  17. Yaba Ba Hon Mwimbu simmer down! We expect U to push CEEC to start disbursing loans to applicants. Its not enough for Hon Bob Sichinga to direct CEEC to stop receiving Loan applications. We expect an official statement from DG CEEC to clarify why the delay in realising funds. All we see in papers is info abt generic codes blaah blaah. What is the purpose of having CEEC which never attends to pipo’s aspirations? We need funding as SMEs period.

  18. Its pathetic for MMD who stayed in power for 20 years and failed Zambia in all sectors, to start dreaming now that PF has failed to create employment. How many years has PF been in power? Less than 6 months. Ba MMD the frustrated fox, Deal with the fact that you lost. I hope and pray who never come back in power ever just remain vuvuzelas.

  19. Mr Jack Mwimbe is in parliament by default, thats why he is opening his useless mouth to utter rubbish just for the seek of appeasing those brought him to manda hill just for being tonga. This man would not have been mp if he was not tonga because the voters had no choice but to vote for a tonga no matter how *****ic he was..that country men is tonga power; 90 days my foot only a foolish child would hold on to that ..an mp ????

  20. Ba PF sometimes muzivomelako vinangu vintu,he new he cant do it in 90 days why say it in the first place.just admit that your presdo didnt know how had it is to lead the country he thought its like his house.why say 90 days when he knew he has 5 yrs.

    • I thought Ba Jack Mwimbu is educated, but he is just another *****! With the mess MMD left behind, do you expect things to normalise just now??? Remember Zambia is under eveloped and needs more resources to move forward. PF is busy trying to lay strong foundation that will stand test of time for future generation.

  21. Whthr 90 days or not at least we have someone in the first house with a vision for mother Zambia. We know he is taking us somewhere good.we know he has a more listenin ear and will run a more transparent nation.he z gt direction
Ba honorable, you dont even know where your party is going if we asked you.NO VISION at all.I wonder why u can say PF has failed when your party has`nt got direction

  22. “Wafaba” I’m desperate to agree with your conclusion that PF has failed, but could say at length the failure you referring to. I must say that you deserve a rest with sedatives to quieten hallucinations engraved on your psyche. Give them chance, if they truly fail they’re out period

  23. Sata is not a magician to creat employment just three months in power. This jack is just another Jack-ass. Reason before you open that mouth of yours. PF is cleaning the mess left by Ala Bee and after that you will see real Governance.

  24. Its ironical how some Zambians analyse issues as if taken leave of senses. Now that the 90 days is almost over with NO sign of service delivery (actual service may be imposible) we hear an act of heroic defiance. To say those political rhetoric of ’90 days’ were designed to bolster the votes by back door method, then Sata lied to Zambians. That wasn’t an act of statemanship, but a “pseudo-deceiver who thrives on the vulnerability of poor Zambians. To those defending the undefensible if any thing is total foolishness. Words were meant to mean what they convey in normal speech. Let the author of the words come back to Zambians what he exactly indended to mean. Others have no legitimecy to stand in Sata’s place and would desdain to be called liar.

  25. PF and Sata think can fool us the voters and if so for how long?? We were promised more money in our pockets and jobs in 90 days by Mr Sata himself. Many of us voted for him because of these promises. We demand fulfillment to our promises without fail. If you think you can mock zambians then you are cheating yourself. And who told you that street vending is job creation??

  26. UBUCHUSHI will always be there. Everywhere you go, some will be employed, others unemployed, some thieves and others will be complaining about their governments. That is how the system is. People have the mentality that the government can provide a lasting solution to this, but am afraid it has to go both ways.
Since we have a democracy pa Zed, It is government and people; meaning entrepreneurship has to play a big role as well.

  27. Im suprised that these i.d.i.ots bantustan wants development in 90days when they did not vote for sata mwe mbwamwe
Go to hakaivotera mohamad abdula hakainde

  28. I am disappointed with my country men. To question anything about PF brings all sorts of name calling from PF sympathisers. Zambia belongs to all Zambians, let us debate with cool heads without calling each other names. I am Tonga 100% and I am proud to be associated with multitudes of progressive Zambians cutting across tribal lines. Our strength as a people is in our diversity.

  29. It is unbelievable the quality of some of th these so-called MPs! More like Jack-Ass Mwimbu than Jack! Do tghey seriously think anyone can implement each and every one of their political expectations in 90 days! UPND, please learn to disinguish sense from crap! No sensible politician anywhere in the world take’s another politician’s words som literally as we have seen in the UPND in Zambia!!!

  30. EVEN THAT TIME SATA SAID WE ARE RECEIVING ELEPHANTS AND UPND CATS AND RATS, THEY COULD NOT INTERPRET AS A PARTY. THEN HOW DO YOU EXPECT THIS CHEAP MP TO INTEPRETE THIS FIGURATIVE SPEECH?

  31. You f u c k I n g hypocrites you said 90 days.
    YOU LIED
Now you are saying we are not magicians.
You Party F ucks are disgusting liars.
    YOU LIED
What’s more even in 500 years you will do nothing because your platform is based on IGNORANCE.

  32. What a dull MP this Jackass Mwimbu is!! Even William Banda looks like a genius compared to this nitwit. Seriously. And his constituents expect sensible representation from an MP like him? You have to wonder! Wake up and smell the coffee UPND! You can’t take the 90-days PF election slogan so literally!!! UPND continues to behave as if they are still campaigning. PF is in office for the next five years. And at the rate you are going, most likely for another ten years!

  33. The problem these cheap thieving Party F ucks don’t see is because we told you that no one can do anything in 90 days and because you F ucks are so IGNORANT jealous lazy greedy and have no plan you voted PF.
So Jack is saying we knew you wouldn’t perform and that’s why he’s raising it now.
He didn’t expect anything from the beginning and thats why he’s making the point.

  34. Even a baby doesnt start walking in three months, mwimbu you are so dull jobs are grown they are not made, so the president must gain confidence from the international investers so they can come and invest in zambia, that is how it works i can already see the world has so much interest in zambia now those are the signs. RB kept the world away because of corruption

  35. apparently, pipo seem not to differentiate between figures: 3 months and 60 months are way too different. PF has got about 57 months to deliver. Instead of bringing critico issues, this fellow chooses to be confused by math and simple reasoning…. *sighs*

  36. some Zambians disgust me, you think everything will change in one day? come on too much damage was done to this country and you expect PF government to correct all that within the short period of time,,the 90 day theory is not about achieving everything within 9+0 days, unemployment has been the greatest problem in this country caused mainly by corrupt practices and u want pf to sort it out within 0,9 days,,so pathetic,,grow up opposition grow up, positive critic is wat we need not just flapping the openings on ur faces anyhow….

  37. #Mkazi why some muc insults?????????? You say PF has failed;;;;;;;;;;; No PF has not failed if anything its proved to be doing better, it the tonga tribal party of HH that has shamelessly failed to the extent we have to send in Miles Sampa into your back yard to be the boss of all bosses in Tonga land deny it or pretend it does not matter,, BUT THE MEMBA,S ARE IN SOUTHERN PROVINCE AND TRUST ME THAT MPS SEAT IS PF,s soon and very soon,,,,,we have come to take you out watch and learn

  38. slowly we shall take southern province like we have taken most,if anything l think we should have a Mwata Kazembe, Mwamba and Chitimukulu palaces in southern province

  39. Come people on this blog are not kids. To P F supporters you seem to have short memories because your campaign was based on the 90 promise. I personally said it would come back to haunt you and indeed it has. Rather than insult people humble yourselves and apologise for misleading those that believed in those promises

  40. Well spoken Hon. Mwiimbu, PF has no programme for the youth. Even if they have money under institutions like CEEC, they have no plan.

  41. 90 days is 90 days, it is not 4.5 years or six months or seventy years. NO guys, the language of PF was plain simple, it is 90 days. Of course we know that you are not magicians but didn’t we tell you so? If you promised to create employment or deliver BRE in 90 days, you have to deliver unless you admit that you are liars and you lied your way into power, in which case a commission of inquiry will have to be appointed to look at this kind of impropriety.

  42. You PF buffons, when you promise to do something in 90 days make sure you fulfill your promises instead of insulting a person who is reminding you about the promise you made. In short stop playing monkey tricks and get real! An honourable man sticks to his words. Zambia will not develop with lies. As correctly pointed out by the Post editorial of two days ago, Sata and his PF thugs have failed to show any meaningful roadmap of where the country is going in their 90 days of ruling. Sata is still behaving like an opposition leader and comedian. We doon’t have a functioning head of state, period! He would do better to let Guy Scott rule.

  43. 90 days and then what? Work hard and you will have money in your pockets, PF didn’t say that they will put money in someones pocket. Leave PF alone, sichumofye Pabwato!

  44. We should all be realistic,Unemployment is one of the hardest things for governments all over the world, that is to tackle.Obama has been in power for almost 4 yrs but, unemployment still remains his biggest challenge despite having all the money at his disposal. As for the 90 days campaign theory,it should be common sense that every election has some form of message that appeals to voters, politics is like Marketing  and or Advertising, not all products out there perform to the expectations of the customer or as advertised.Lets all put the 90 days crap behind us and move on.

  45. people get easily angered with simple comments. Zambia belongs to us all, and we all have a right to speak and be heard. the article simply says that grz has not created jobs as promised. are we wrong in pointing this out?
we knew 90 was too little a time, but there should at least be a plan by now.

  46. Politicians are good liars especially in Africa, why did Sata promised too much in
90 days,it not crime to remind PF govt, otherwise the unemployed are gonna be
Forgotten ,it not only enjoying the sweetness of power but remembering the poor
    And the unemployed

  47. People tell me Zed has changed, Lusaka looks like London, I am told. I think that is a fallacy. The politics don’t encourage me, and unlike England, unemployment in Zambia is more than 70 percent. About 80 percent of the population still lives in abject poverty. This new government seems to have no plans at all to help the common man. That is why it is encouraging street vending, as part of a solution.

  48. ” UPND’s Jack Mwimbu also said in Parliament that the PF’s promise of tackling many issues within 90 days have not born fruit. ”

Ask Dora Siliya, Situmbeko Musokotwane, Maxwell Mwale, Rupiah Banda, and the whole MMD whether nothing has changed.

I don’t care about any deadline, as long as the PF keep the country and their policies moving forward, they are succeeding. And what’s more, they are the only game in town.

The MMD is in shambles. The UPND is no alternative to either party, especially as they wanted to create an alliance with the MMD – this MMD – which shows a complete lack of judgment.

Now let’s move the PF back toward the Windfall Tax, and start investing in infrastructure, agriculture and manufacturing with our own money, not borrowed money.

  49. @61 MrK………..nothing has changed of course. Where is your beloved Windfall Tax which you rant about daily? How about the Chinese ‘infestors’ have they gone away?

The only stuff that has changed is the daily dose of corruption accuses coming from State House. All of which remain unproven. We’ve heard childish allegations about ‘fake’ money, Musokotwane receiving two salaries; both of which have proved to be boggers. And of course the country has seen the ascendancy to power of what is Zambia’s most regional and tribal govt in history. In short the country seems to have jumped from a frying pan into a fire of visionless leadership.

  50. Its pretty dumb, that someone educated can think jobs can be magically created, it is a process, the country needs infrastructure, which gives opportunity to industry, industry creates Jobs. Remember the reason we don’t have a good infrastructure is simply because of Greed. No one was looking out for the little Guy. You need to give PF a chance. Instead these guys want make uninformed statements just because the can get some sympathy points. The Opposition needs to make constructive criticism.

  51. Y’all talking about the PF government failing to create jobs in 90 days that MMD failed in 20 years are dreamers and stupid. I wonder if you have any sense in yous to think logically about what it involves to create jobs. Better shut up all your mouths if you cannot think. What a waste of time blogging about what you don’t understand. You are lucku LT even allows you to blog about nonsense.

  52. The fact that people voted based on the 90 days theory, it is a worry in itself. Can someone help PF come up with a national agenda in the next 90 days and let them operate on that agenda. PF you are now worrying a lot of us who thought just may be, you could change things. But now there is no hope in your govt and its policies if any.

  53. You already know therefore significantly when it comes to this topic, produced me personally imagine it from a lot of varied angles. Its like women and men aren’t fascinated unless it’s one thing to do with Lady gaga! Your own stuffs nice. At all times take care of it up!

  56. WHEN U ARE OUTSIDE THE FOOTBALL GROUND U THINK ITS EASY TO PLAY BUT WHEN U GET INTO THE PITCH!!! SATA THOUGHT MMD WAS DOING NOTHING AND HE WAS IN THE FORFRONT CRITISING THEM SAYING “CIVIL SERVANTS NEED TO BE PAID MORE MONEY BUT WHAT IS HE SAYING NOW, 4% SALARY INCREAMENT TO CIVIL SERVANTS. IMAGINE HE IS EVEN THRETENING TO DISMISS THEM AND EMPLOY OTHERS CAN HE DO IT? PROPER DICTATORSHIP.
