PF cadres invade market

Comesa Market in Lusaka

Despite assurances from the PF that its cadres will not interfere in the operations of markets and bus stations, to the contrary. And a civic Leader in Lusaka is concerned that PF cadres have invaded markets.

In a walk in interview Kabwata ward Councilor; Casius Mbalazi has disclosed that a PF branch in Kabwata has grabbed the market keys from the market master in a bid to run the trading facility.

He has described the act as criminal saying those involved are enemies of the party. Mr. Mbalazi claims the cadres who have just shifted camp from MMD to PF want to continue extorting funds from markets.

The group has since been reported to Kabwata police.

And hundreds of suspected illegal traders have been rounded up at Lusaka’s COMESA market by the Zambia police and immigration department officers.

The traders are suspected to have been conducting businesses without permit and legal documents.

Lusaka Regional Immigration Officer, Margaret Mvunga has confirmed saying her office is also investigating how most foreigners have acquired the green national registration cards.

Among the people picked up includes COMESA market Chairperson, Donald Kachingwe for harboring suspected illegal foreign traders.

If found guilty after the screening process the suspects will be deported to their countries of origin.

  1. The cadres in the markets have just shifted camp from MMD to PF. If that is true prove it then correct it. Markets and bus stations are better managed by councils in respective towns and cities. However, since PF govt is characterised by half truths and lies a status quo is expected in these markets as the govt so far has semonstrated to be without solutions to most problems beseting the nation.

  2. but its you who reported that lcc is making billions from these markets and stations. what is this you are reporting now? if its true, ba nkandu luo will pick it up and act. but i doubt wether this is true .indeed.

  3. we knew that pf thugs were just waiting..there are no jobs for them..what do you expect them to do..?their father sata is master dribbler when it comes to lies..@local govt ..

  4. the move to round up foreigners in comesa is long overdue, tanzanians have taken over that market they they make big money buy our dollar take to tanzania.the all dollar circulating in tanzania is mostly from zambia.

funny enough a zambian can not go into tanzania and conduct any form of business in a matter of seconds you will be reported to police and you will be in the air.
so pf reposes those stands from foreigners in comesa and give them to your youths you promised more money, same as in chisokone in kitwe

  5. @4 joe hunter, well said ma bro. why is it that the atmosphere to conduct business in zambia is conduicive to foreigners than us zambians. everywhere you go, its foreigners. why? why? why? just go round your town whereever you live and do a quick count. in kitwe, chisokone market is for foreigners, emerald mines in chief nkana are owned by foreigners, most shops in town are owned by foreigners. perpetrators of criminal activities are foreigners. why? when are zambians going to own their country cause we are foreigners in our own country. please help change this.

  6. @3,the reporter said the people were MMD who have just shifted camp to pf.so these are NOT genuine pf cadres but MMD hiding in pf slogan .iam ignorant on grabing keys from the market master, who appointed this market master?and which party did seem to support b4 september 2011.?only when these two qns are answered then it be clear for the blogers to get the facts.otherwise i doubt the story.

  7. DON’T EVEN THINK OF ARRESTING THEM. MMD THUGS REALLY POSSESSED STATIONS AND NOW ITS OUR TIME. BUT IF IT IS THE MMD PRETENDING TO BE PF, ARREST THEM.

  8. How would one determine party membership in the absence of membership cards??? Just wondering as anyone can claim to be a member or to the contrary the party can deny anyone as the is proof/ evidence/ symbol of belonging

  9. @ Mature, the day prevaledged Zambians decide to spend money on businesses, hire Zambians and stop buying twenty cars.

    2) Zambians should start buying businesses and not hire relatives as employees. Except the inelligent ones.

  10. The council is incompetent. These guys mobilize police to try and chase away street vendors then they can do the same to party cadres at the markets just get police to remove them. The Government has said no cadres at the markets. Its now up-to the councils to act.
