Share

Zambia will get K400 million from Zambian Breweries PLC if they win the Africa Cup.

In a statement, ZB corporate affairs specialist Japhet Banda said the incentive came after the company paid a K250 million bonus to the team for qualifying to their Africa Cup.

“We enhanced our support to FAZ and the National Team in the past three years and we are looking forward to continuing our support especially that we are beginning to realize the positive results from the National Team,” Banda said.

“It is our hope that the Chipolopolo will deliver on the expectations of the nation.

“We are close to bringing the trophy home and we at Zambian Breweries are pleased to be associated with the team’s achievement at the AFCON. Zambian Breweries PLC is the official sponsor of the Chipolopolo through our leading brand Mosi Larger.”

    • This is just from one sponsor other corporations are well come to put up more funds. Its no like all they will get is from ZB

  1. All willing soccer fans can donate K10,000. 00 to a FAZ controlled acoount. 50, 000 fans translate to K0.5 Billion. Not much , but something with the heart stamped on it.

  2. Why give money to players? Its like paying soldiers, teachers, policemen etc soccer players are paid by FAZ if they think ka salary/allowance that FAZ gives them for playing for zambia is too little they can leave their alot more who want that ka money. Pipo are dying of hunger u donate 400mill. to FAZ, Where is Chibamba Kanyama to show us his rationale behind such. U pay pipo chasing a ball, what about our gallant soldiers from peace keeping missions, Teachers who made sure grade 9s had 100% pass, policemen who brought peace in Mongu, RB who conceded defeat, Liato who burried 2.1billion, he had a choice of burning the money but thank him he burried, the list is endless

  3. Hellow Zambians, while it is a good thing to give, but am against this giving, it is ungodly. I say so because there are so many people suffering who need food on their tables, some people who needs help are just next to ZB breaking stones to earn a living. Think about charity and it is in the bible for those who are christians. The national team, the gonverment gives them all they need. Even the casual workers at ZB are getting peanuts and yet you have alot of money to dish out like that.
God have ercy on us and give us the right direction to be our brothrs keepers.

  4. Iwe HENRIQUE, you have a good idea nomba problem ubupupu at Football House is just too much. They will steal all the donations. We must fast flush out the rotten administrators at footbal House before doing that.If they can drink all the imprest at the tournament.

  5. Lets go and salvation, you are not soccer fans and do not even understand it. Those guys are doing the country proud, they are working for mother Zambia. Those who are starving, especially some who are even able bodied its out of choice, why not go to the village and grow you own food?

If I stopped work today and I face difficulties surviving in Lusaka, I will not be asking for alms, I will pack my bags and wives and head to the village to grow food, period.

We can donate those ten thousands, if an independent account was openned, there would be more than enough money to even construct another stadium after paying the guys ka dyonko!!!

  6. Number 6 mwaliba fye saddist!!! It appears you are disgruntled about everything anyone does… you need a change of heart mwe. Viva Zed**==**==

  7. its a shame. so many people suffering, if they have so much money why not donate to a worthy cause. but I am not surprised, this money is donated from alcoholics like myself so I think “give to ceasar what belongs to………”

  8. Zambian Breweries is credited to sending the national team to the camp in SA prior to the tornament when they paid K250 million for lodging. This was just part of the other contributions made as the National Team beverages sponsor (total cost of spocnsorship since 2009 is K4 billion). Type ‘Zambian Breweries K4 billion, FAZ’ and you will see plenty stories on the same. This is marketing at its best…they know where the heart of their consumers lies. it is through this they raise money to pay salaries and taxes.

  9. I strongly and 100% agree with salvation at 7. Why give so much money to footbal which does not add any value to the economy. why not give that money to a hospital or build clinics in rural areas or support children who have no one to pay school fees for them. if this goes ahead it will be sin and based on this offer may the team lose the final so that this sinful cash offer does not take place.

  10. LET ZB ALSO ASSIST PEOPLE WHO ARE HELPLESS. WE HEAR PEOPLE BEGGING MONEY FOR TREATMENTS ABROAD.I KNOW OUR GUYS WILL BRING GLORY TO MOTHER ZAMBIA. BUT WE SHOULD NOT FORGET TO ASSIST VULNERABLE PEOPLES.
