Opposition Movement for Multi Party Democracy (MMD) youth Chairman Moses Muteteka says he is not intimidated by people planning to bar him from attending this weekend’s party card renewal exercise.
The opposition MMD is slated to hold its party card renewal exercise on Saturday 25th February 2012 in Lusaka.
Mr Muteteka told Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in an interview that the people calling for him to barred from attending the party card renewal exercise were not serious.
Mr Muteteka who is also Chisamba Member of Parliament revealed that his party card membership falls under central province and not Lusaka province.
He wondered how he would be barred from attending the party card renewal exercise when his membership is not with Lusaka province.
Mr Muteteka said people calling for his barring from attending the MMD party card renewal exercise were ignorant as they did not know that his party membership was in central province and not Lusaka province.
Meanwhile Mr Muteteka says construction works at Chisamba high school have slowed down.
He explained to ZANIS in an interview that works have slowed down due to lack of funding to run the project.
Mr Muteteka said the contractor had not yet been paid by government resulting in the contractor laying off some workers.
He however disclosed that he has since reported to government adding that 75 percent of constructional works have been done.

Go, Muteteka. Don’t be intimidated by the corrupt. MMD needs to clean up. We need good leadership and accountabilitology. We say this because we would like to see all political parties that represent any of our people do well for the Zambians who support them, and indeed for the whole nation. UPND needs a check as well. Donchi kubeba also needs to improve its ways of consultation and explainology of their agenda to the masses so that we dont argue and delay progress over what might otherwise be good ideas. We dont necessarily support parties. We support good agendas. Evidence of that is the fact that after UNIP we supported MMD, then e gave Mazoka’s UPND our full support, then we gave it to PF. Whoever comes up with better ideas will get our support. That’s how we deal.
Party cadre mentality is what kills progress because it entails arguing to win even if one is wrong, just for loyalty’s sake instead of arguing to find the right way and the best ideas.
It appears Moses Muteteka has lost direction. His comments are like he is a PF cadre.It wont take long before he defects to PF. Just watch his steps. The young man likes attention and he is a ministerial job seeker.
One would wonder if mmd wl ever learn a lesson and uphold the tenents of dimocracy as the founder party by respecting other people’s views. Or else a de-registration will save us a hell lot from embarasmentology to the whole wide world
MMD should learn to embrace democracy after the dictatorial tendencies brought in by some past leaders. Moses Muteteka should be able to attend the convention and stand for whatever position he wants. And he should be allowed to campaign freely for the position.
