President Michael Sata is expected back home today following his private visit to India.

State house Deputy Private Secretary Amos Chanda said the President is expected to arrive in the country at 13:00 hours.

President Sata is said to have also used his private visit to India to engage various investors from that country who have since shown interest to set up base in Zambia.

These include Apollo International Limited who have expressed interest to construct a super-specialist hospital in Zambia and Mohan Exports, an internationally renowned agriculture-equipment manufacturer that is prepared to set up a tractor assembly plant in Zambia which also serve as a distribution point for the Southern African region.

The President concluded his investment promotion engagements with the Indian business community yesterday.

However President Sata’s week long visit to India left speculation brewing back home over the purpose of his visit, with unsubstantiated reports in some sections of the media claiming he had gone for medical treatment, assertions government dismissed.

According to the Indian on line media DeshGujarat President Michael Sata was on Sunday discharged from the hospital in Ahmedabad, India. The DeshGujarat reported that Mr. Sata was discharged from the hospital in the evening, after which he reached the Taj hotel near airport.

Reports said President Sata was operated on Saturday in city’s Samved hospital.

“It is unconfirmed but, possible that the President is in Ahmedabad for the treatment of benign enlargement of Prostate. At Samved hospital in Ahmedabad, this illness is treated by GreenLight laser (KTP Laser). The treatment is non invasive without bleeding. A patient can start eating and taking fluids within 2 hours of surgery and can be ready to go home in less than 24 hours (without the catheter”.

Mr. Sata was accompanied by the first lady Dr. Christine Kaseba, spokesperson George Chella.

  1. Welcome home President. Everyone needs a medical checkup once in a while, the only shame in this is that you had to skip the country to have one.

Please work on developing and staffing our hospitals.

  2. Well come back but you should tell us the truth of your so called private visit..If you went to engage various investors from that country come out clean or if you were @ some hospital getting treatment. It seems damage control is a bit too late from your government… Enjoy the Zambian weather

  3. I miss Kaunda who will get rid of people causing decisions. Mr President finds these people and make them disappear. Peace has it costs.

  4. So big mouth is comin back?guy scott has handled the tthe bbarotse iissue wwell.no ppanickin.you wwill ssee wwhat kkaponya wwill ddo.I ffeel ffor the ngambela.

  6. So why hide bph……its just a condition most men over 50 yrs of age suffer from. nomba kubbisa bbisa as if you caused it….now watch your mouth regarding the lozi agreement…we do not want war.

  7. Ukwa or anybody should never dare to use force or we will retariate. “Death threats will not worry us but our future does” we are determined like your afcon champions…dialogue with respect may help.

  8. Welcome back zebigge, the cat(edit to read Cobra) is back, lets see the mouse at play now,do not change the channel time for the Tom & Jerry show.anyhow, sad we are in the last episodes, but seriously no govt can tolerate the overzealousness and careless statements from Sinyinda and Co.If they push their luck too far they end up making last years Mongu shootings under MMD look like a Sunday school picnic, take heed.

  9. Welcome back home ba Sata but start putting your life right with God. And why ashamed of sickness when none of humanity is immortal? Reading this filed Indian press filing has left Zambia embarrassed. So the Zambian press were spot on that you were leaving Gujarat on Friday.

    • I was 286 went to Jenny Craig and lost like 40 lbs. in 4 months. The food does taste good but it is outgraeously priced. The same meals at cub cost like $2.65 and are like $5.50 at JC. My local office gave me very little counceling they really were just a glorified grocery store. But I did lose 40 lbs. fast so I did like it and it was worth it. I have been doe with it for a few months had two surgeries and have not gained any weight back. Any comments let me know.

  10. Zambian president flies back to his country from Gujarat

Zambian president Michael Sata will return to his country on Friday following a hush-hush visit to Gujarat for a medical procedure.
Sources said the president, who got himself admitted to Samved Hospital, was keen to avoid any media reports about his illness. Earlier, some newspapers had stated that the 75-year-old was suffering from problems involving his prostate or urinary bladder.

  11. It should be noted that Dr Janak Desai and the team of doctors who carried out the laser procedure on him had refused to divulge any details regarding the same citing medical ethics. Meanwhile, sources close to the team of the president said that he was keen to avoid any news about his ill health as that would create political turmoil for him back home in Zambia.

  12. Sources said the president was keen on not giving his opponents anything to write him off. So severe was the need to maintain secrecy that according to sources, his team had given a time slot to the chief minister to visit him but withdrew it at the last moment. A member of his team when contacted at the hotel refused even to divulge his name.

  13. LOOK AT THIS EMBARASSMENT!

“Media persons who requested an interview with him were told by his personal staff to come for an interview on Friday morning after 10 am at the hotel where he was put up. Incidentally, the president and his team are to check out early morning on Friday”.

  14. A castrated bull is an ox. Its like a cobra whose poison fungs have been removed. We live in a changed world and any id.iot who goes around killing unarmed people will also receive his dues. Wanting to secede is not a crime. It only becomes a crime if one takes up arms.

    • Is the Scottish National party commuting treason for campaigning to break away from the UK? Sein Fein campaigning for a Ireland by having northern Ireland break away from the UK? These are legitimate demands. They only become a crime if they take up arms like what sein Fein did through the ira. So please tell me something intelligent not your usual pf nonsense.

    • Ireena please remember that the laws that govern UK and the rest of those countries that belong to UK are different from Zambia. It may be misleading to try to compare Zambia and the UK countries in this manner.

  15. Pipo you nd to understand when the predo is going out of zambian citizen shold be informed it’s the tax pays moni no nd to hide.

  16. According to the DK (donchi kubeba) agreement of September 2011 ; you don’t have the rights to know what he went to do.

  17. Ukwa improve local hospitals..this is what you promised. You see out there they don’t know this Donchi Kubeba rubbish..they’ll always spill the beans when you dash there for whatever ailment.!

  18. WELL COME BACK Mr PRESIDENT, TO THE DISAPPOINTMENT OF HH AND SOME OF UPND MEMBERS WHO CELEBRATED AND HOPED THAT YOU WERE SERIOUSLY ILL AND YOU WERE GOING TO DIE IN INDIA SO THAT THEY CAN LEAD THE COUNTRY. WISH YOU GOOD HEALTH. AND PLEASE, SOLVE THIS LOZI ISSUE ONCE AND FOR WHOLE. ZAMBIA IS ONE COUNTRY. LOZIS SIGNED THAT AGREEMENT BEHIND OTHER PEOPLE WHOM THEY FOUND IN THAT LAND FOR SELFISHNESS. WHY NOT ALSO TAKE PART OF BOTSWANA, NAMIBIA, ETC WHICH WERE ALSO IN THE AGREENENT IF THATS THE CASE? WHY ZAMBIA ONLY?

    • Hi Kim, thank you for contacting us. Vince’s will be clsoed on December 25th and 26th. We reopen on December 27th at our regular hours. You can find our hours on the location/hours tab on our website. Thanks and Happy Holidays!

    • This week sucks, thanks. I love/hate this wod today I did beettr than the day after my honeymoon, but not my best ever. Kudos to Becky T who scaled up and was still a rock star.

  19. Despite the numerous problems awaiting his attention I think his health is paramount and he must ensure he has plenty of peace and quiet to recuperate. Luckily his wife is a physician and can help him achieve this. It won’t be long before he returns to India for a medical review or his doctors might sneak into the country secretly to check on him.
For now it is very important that he swallows his pride and tell Zambians the truth and nothing else but the truth about his trip to India.

  20. Ok,to all those who want to secede, lets say govt lets you go,were are the boundaries,am sure if one had to ask even 10 people who attended that BNC they would come up with 10 different maps, even between the Litunga himself and Sinyinda, nobody knows the boundaries simply meaning Barotseland as a territory never existed its a myth.I pose a question to all secessionists,i know that region very well,By use of towns, roads rivers ,villages etc as landmarks, can somebody on this site describe the boundaries of Barotseland?,A territory must be defined.

  21. Cannot trust these donchi kubeba, once bitten twice shy. After leaving out the key players in government, I hope that proper procedure will be followed with the so called investment promotion in India, I mean ZDA, ZPPA etc, otherwise it looks like we will go round full circle come 2016 when we have a new government.

  22. its being too simplistic to postulate that prostrate cancer on a geriatric at 75 with kraals of children from innumerable women is a simple issue. Learn to be humane and spare the poor sick man alone so that he can peacefully with privacy spend his last phase of life with his family. There will always be a Zambia without and after Sata.

  23. haters at their worst! just know that its not over until God says so. here you are, swallowing your own vomit. sata is back to rule us. stop this hate business imwe mwetubantu!

  24. Waiting for the death of a leader so that one can take over may work in a small political party or club but but at national level its a different ball game,no matter how one may wish ill will to the president and celebrate hoping the demise of the president may make them become president themselves is self deception and this is what makes certain candidates never to make it,not because of their tribe. You have to compete with the living and gain favor with the voters.

  25. Well, to the haters and lover of HE MCS, I would like to say to you that you gotta put aside all that and come together for the benefit of our mother Zambia. Or is it mother Zambia and Son Barotseland?

  26. I fail to understand why some neanderthals are still claiming that HH and UPND were celebrating Cobra’s alleged ill health? As far as I know, Sata abruptly snuck out of the country and Zambian Watchdog quickly reported this. Later, credible media sources in India reported about Cobra’s medical treatment, which was shared by Z Watchdog. The ensuing cover up by State House was embarassing at best, considering the cat was already out of the bag. Honesty would have saved everyone the trouble and embarrassment of private & confidential patient details being plastered all over the internet. We look forward to more comedy now that Ukwa is back in town.

    • I’m so glad they’re taking all the crap out of their food YAY! I don’t do well with plans and other peolpe telling me what to do..but JC is a great thing for someone who is clueless about nutrition or, like you said, doesn’t have the time to deal with figuring it all out. But eventually you have to go off of it and learn to do it on your own anyway.. do they teach you how to do maintenance on your own?

    • Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rehatr sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

  27. you can see the disapointed UPNDs Tongas, They celebrated thinking that our beloved president went to die, wenyoooo…. You will never rule this country; NENER, NEVER with your under five dog. fusekeni shaaa!!!!!

  28. Tis said people once found watching gladiators being mauled by lions entertaining. I guess there is no understanding how some seek pleasure from the pain of others… Seriously, have we nothing to look forward to but cries for a fight with Barotseland and job losses over media handling of presidential illness? I guess on the plus side my political action thriller slash comedy market is growing daily :) UK politics is fixated on hot food tax and self invoked fuel shortages, US is watching a security guard in Florida… Hmm comforting thought that everyone is losing the plot in Mad March!

  29. #5 Tonga Ball…hate or love him, castrated or not , with or without balls, even in wheel chair – Sata is president elect. And no amount of cyber insults will erase that. Welcome home Kanabesa bashi chilufya, shimu kokota nsono, imibanga mise, bashisha chiminine.

  30. The castrated old guy ran away from the problems he created.Lozis are challenging you mentally, not physically. Not that they cant do it physically. So,do you have balls of steel to challenge them with brains?Oh I forgot that you no longer have balls. What ever

  31. Is Sata bemba? I believe hez Bisa….are they one and the same?

We all look the same…tonga, bemba, luvale, kaboke, nxosa, and the like… in the eyes of ba mwisa

    • My hips are smoked but that was so much fun!! (in a sick, dinsustigg way). Next time we need assigned yellers/counters and Murphie needs to be here because it’s just not FGB if she isn’t telling me I can pick up something heavy and throw it at a wall.Pretty pumped with my score increase but not as pleased that I continue to catch wall balls with my face. One step at a time

  32. It is clear these presidential haters have already lost any semblence of legitimacy or claims,to resort to insulting the president in this manner shows that the argument is already diluted, like the gay rights chaos Barotse will also soon disappear from the headlines.Barotseland is just a myth,an imaginary nation in the minds of some misguided political failures. That agreement is not even worth the piece of paper it was written on,its a paper full of written words meaning nothing.Development has failed to trickle down because of lack of a proper decentralised system of governance, thats why PF started by first realigning the admninstrative structures so that even the people of western province can be closer to the national cake.

  33. With or without his “tools”, he’s something all of you haters will never be…. Presido of ZAMBIA!!!
    Mwapya baisa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • It is amazing how low people aim, honestly just being President? That is not good enough; be the best President. Be the best you can in whatever position. Be remembered as the best president.

  34. Welcome home Mr. president .please we should learn to respect our head of state and elderly people  as it unafrican to insult them. For those calling on sata to spill lozis blood over this barotse comedy of errors, will be very disappointed coz that is not Mr. Sata ‘s Character though his  personality may seem so. He is a peace loving man. Some of you calling for violence have never dressed a dead body in the mortuary, scared of even body viewing  or worse still  can’t even slaughtered a chicken.

  35. Welcome Home. Some of us knew it was rest and you were to come back home. The people in Western Province need answers, welcome Home to neutralise everything.

  36. No.28 Ireena

“A castrated bull is an ox. Its like a cobra whose poison fungs have been removed”

    Welcome back Mr. Lean Cobra

  37. Its way past 13:00hrs.Where is he?It was a secret exit,is it going to be a ceremonial or still secret return?

  38. iam back. mongu now that i have sent soldiers expect more pregnancies.i brought some hot chilly, japati and some cricket balls. i sugest that i must be quarentined since their is an out break of yellow feaver in india.

  39. Let us all have respect for our elders whether they are simple villagers or whatever else. Remember that we are also growing older by every minute.

  40. Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) is closely linked to Erectile Dysfunction; I’ve no pity for Ukwa. Let me explain; there was a time when Sata poked fun at my late uncle LPM, claiming there were sexual problems at State House (since LPM was a prostate cancer survivor). Karma has a way of paying back in the worst of ways. Now Ukwa himself has blue balls, LMFAO. Hope he rots in hell.

  41. The cobra is slimfit. Some weight has been cut off and cremated. The ashes will be donated to kambwili for use as gunpowder.

  42. He has arrived back. First thing he did was not to give an interview to the press, presumably to avoid making off the cuff remarks……..but he has arrived and looks strong as ever, more popcorns please!

    • mr icisoka cikalamba king cobra wabwela uko ku zambia solve problem dolla na kwacha nomba tuletina no kubofya ipiya shesu.bushe ulikateka washani?na magande awama ukuba kateka.

  43. Welcome back Mr. President! Now worry about people who are not working, NOT about people who are already working.

  44. Welcome back home Mr president and wish you complete recovery. However, you are coming home to a country with more questions than answers. Many more queries have increased since you left the country secretively. Prior to your departure Botswana govt demanded an apology from you over your allegations that Botswana is poor and has only few shops. As if that is not enough, you have arrived to half of your country, the other potion has declared (UDI) as Balotseland. Hope you can make a state visit to your new neighbouring country. Unemployment has not improved and your party spokesperson has misrepresented your cabinet that he is the chief advisor to it. Now that you have come back help Dr Scott clarify issues raised in parliament to which his response were quite impressive given

  45. the difficulties of numerous issues that are yet to be ressolved by PF govt cabinet. It is my hope that you private visit was incident free but in today’s world of technology we have already learnt that news media was denied interviews by you and that created further news and in turn will create more embarassment to you and your govt. Advice is to be open, truthful and humble to people that elected you. Lastly, your DPP has set record in the legal world by demeaning the court and judges. How will you succeed with your fight on corruption? You have an uphill battle Mr President with this turn of ivents. Wish you the best.

  46. As I have been instructed in the Word of God to pray for those in leadership,I join all the others thanking our Lord for good health and travelling mercies granted to our president.May the Lord grant him wisdom to rule our beautiful country Zambia.
