FLORENCE Mampa, the 24-year-old woman from Samfya who underwent surgery to control her enlarged breasts, has been discharged and is out of danger. In an interview at the University Teaching Hospital, Ms Mampa said the surgery was expertly done as she does not feel the pain she endured for the four years she lived with the enlarged breasts.

She said life was miserable as she was a laughing stock of the town.

“People used to laugh at me and I was called all sorts of names during the four years I lived with those breasts. I used to cry but my family was there to comfort me. I was a very sad person, I never thought I would ever have normal breasts again,” she said.

Ms Mampa said during the onerous four years, her mother took her to different hospitals but none of them could offer a remedy for her peculiar condition. She owes her successful operation to her faith in God, saying she believed the Lord was going to heal her and remove the shame on her life.

Ms Mampa said the two general surgeons and one plastic surgeon who conducted the surgery to remove 16.25 kilogrammes of breast mass have helped restore her womanly pride and she has now started wearing bras.

The bright-looking Ms Mampa thanked President Sata and the Zambian government for the support. She said while in theatre during the operation, she felt what she described as the Lord Jesus Christ speaking to her and reassuring her that it was not yet her time to die and to trust that the surgeons were God’s helpers.

And UTH managing director Lackson Kasonka explained that the operation had down-sized Ms Mampa’s breasts to normal. Dr Kasonka, who confirmed Ms Mampa’s discharge from hospital, said the wounds were not showing any sign of infection and that doctors are optimistic of her recovery.

He said she did not bleed a lot during the operation, adding that the tumour was non-cancerous. Dr Kasonka said Ms Mampa was in high spirits and responding well to treatment. Ms Mampa was evacuated from her hometown of Samfya to Lusaka two weeks ago.

  1. why thanking the president all the time as if that is his personal hospital? This type of worshiping human being is a nuisance

    • Ms sampa is thanking the president n government for the support. What is wrong with that. You should learn to thank pipo who have helped you to achieve somethin. Above all she has given credit of her healin to Jesus of Nazareth.

    • Joe that woman has been living with that condition for 4yrs until sata and his govt came to h er aid.is it an offence to appreciate this gesture by saying thank you

    • Poor Citizen like you Joe what to criticize even on right things.. To God be glory Sampa you are a blessing in society..

    • I do not see where the president should come in. May be there is some help that we do not know and has not been revealed that the President has done. Politicians are meant to serve people not to be worshiped, they are paid for that.

  2. Something to cheer our minds/hearts after the so many hot issues we’ve been debating here. Wish you a complete recovery.

  3. Pretty woman. Wishing you a happy life after those agonizing four years. Thanks to the President and the government for offering free medical service to that beautiful being and i wish and hope you’l extend those life services to the many poor people in our great nation. Thank you Jesus Christ for sparing that life.

  4. I do not see where the president should come in. May be there is some help that we do not know and has not been revealed that the President has done. Politicians are meant to serve people not to be worshiped, they are paid for that. I hate it when innocent citizens are used for political mileage as if they owe something to the politicians. What aid did Sata do? That is what I want to know. Why is it that it is the president telling professionals the people to treat? Professionals must be made to make independent decisions. I remember a surgeon chasing David Cameron;s photographers who were filming him in a hospital. For him it did not matter whether one is a prime minister or not. So whenever I hear a person talking about the president it must be a good reason

    • It is just the question of distinguishing the differences that may exist between ‘thanking’ and ‘worshiping.’ I also realise and want to understand clearly why directors are praised for the job well done when they are not the ones who even do the job they are praised for. Usually the leader is appreciated for taking some initiatives to bring things to their standard. I wouldn’t have a problem for thanking someone because he is a leader and I would differentiate ‘thanking’ from ‘worshiping.’

  5. The healing period for the wound is not yet over for the Doctors to say it was successful! Zambians don’t want to hear that she has been readmitted again!

Its sad hearing that she was praising Sata as if Sata took his money from his salary or companies! Sata does not even deserve to be praised because he is our servant whom we Zambians are just paying money and allowances as he is traveling as a tourist all over the world!

  6. Show us a picture of your breasts, why covering with a blanket, we want to see and maybe moves can be made.

  7. We praised kk,chiluba, levy and RB for Evacuating their fellow Politicians.now through the consent of H.E. M.C.S. The Girl has been offered a service here in zambian. Dont u feel someone needs to be thanked .? Incase the Government never gave the consent what would have happened?

  8. DON”T GET MARRIED TO YOUR FELLOW BEMBA/LUNDA BABY.TRY EAST.YOU NEED UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. NOT LOVE YAKASEPA.

  9. Thanks be to God. Oh yes, if an Engineer risks his life to build a bridge across the grand canyon or our knife edge bridge at the Mosi-oa-Tunya falls the credit will usually go to the politician who determined that it be done or the financier of the project. Efyo yaba fye muntu wandi ai… The doctors do a good job, politicians get the credit. If it goes wrong, doctors may be blamed.

  10. Its a way forward for the hospital. We need more doctors in the country, even those who can deal with even more complicated cases. Thank you doctors and the PF for carrying out your duty well. This is what you are there for. One Zambia, One Nation. KEEP IT UP.

  11. 1)
THE DOCTORS AT UTH MUST HAVE REQUESTED FOR CONSENT FROM THE PATIENT TO PUBLISH A CASE REPORT TO A RENOWED SCIENTIFIC JOURNAL ON THE BREASTS THEY HAVE JUST OPERATED ON.
    2) DO THE UTH DOCTORS KNOW WHAT MADE THEIIR PATIENT’S BREASTS GROW THAT BIG? 3
) HAS THERE BEEN A SIMILAR INCIDENT IN THE WORLD, AND IF YES WHAT WAS THE OUT COME MANY YEARS AFTER THE OPERATION? 4) WHAT IS MEDICINE DEALING WITH HERE? UTH SURGEONS REMOVED A TUMOR FROM THE LATE BOY, MAYBE WITHOUT A PROPER ANALYSIS OF THE CONDITION. THIS MUST STOP AS IT IS UNSCIENTIFIC!

  12. Am so scared for this gorgeuos woman. When zed doctors say non cancerous, then youre doomed. May Robiana’s soul RIP. Will keep praying for you love.

  13. Thank you for bringing this beautiful GODDESS to the attention of the world.. Please do post any more material, (especially videos and more beautiful pictures), when you find them.

This young woman had awesome beauty !!!! We must find ways to reduce this sort of thing – gigantomastia breast reduction surgery- in the future. Every woman should be made aware of the pros and cons for such surgery; that millions of men in the USA and EUROPE, to name only a few places and regions, love and value their exceptionally large breasts, and would give their last dime to make them feel loved and appreciated, and comfortable in their condition.

i am truly sad and hurt that she chose to have breasts reduction surgery.  That is indeed great loss for millions of men in the USA and EUROPE.
