New Kitwe United coach Knight Mpundu has declared that he is not under pressure to perform after being engeged to mentor The Buchi Boys two weeks ago.

Mpundu has replaced Fred “Schemer” Siame who claims to have been fired although the club insists that he is just on a one month suspension for insubordination.

In an interview, Mpundu said he will not panic because he has self confidence.

“I don’t have pressure my self because I have confidence in myself. I have been in coaching for a long time and I know what I can do,” he said.

Mpundu said his immediate task at Garden Park was to build a team that will challenge for promotion.

” Firstly, I am building a team. I have been here for two weeks and I have seen the problem, I have to work on finishing,” he stated.

Mpundu added:” I am aiming for number two. Position number two in the league is still open. Our supporters just need to support us.”

Under Mpundu, Kitwe have played two games winning one and forcing a draw.

  1. ok, so mayuka signed by southampton…… just a deja vu feeling i have re: mbesuma. but everything pointing to a different direction this time around. mayuka has been in europe for some time now so the issue of failure to cope (acopia) and resorting to ‘comfort’ eating and it’s offshoots of obesity and sluggishness might not occur. so lighten up!!! bravo mayuka
