Police officers conduct search of UPND Secretariat and leave empty handed

Share

File : Police officers wield a short button against UPND cadres outside the Lusaka magistrate court

The ill fated search by over 100 police officers at the UPND Secretariat for suspected seditious materials proved futile.

The officers whose efforts to conduct the search yesterday were thwarted after UPND lawyers rejected the two search warrants because they were defective.

The Police who came from headquarters are said to have produced a convincing search warrant to the UPND lawyers.

The determined officers returned to the UPND Secretariat in the early hours and sealed off Lagos Road where the UPND officers are situated.

Only five officers were allowed to enter the premises after they were throughly searched by alert UPND youths in the presence of six UPND lawyers.

After many hours of searching, the officers left the offices empty handed.

UPND Vice President Richard Kapita later told reporters that the officers searched the entire building and office computers.

Mr. Kapita stated that the UPND does not deal in seditious materials. He said the search is another attempt by President Sata to intimidate the opposition.
Mr. Kapita vowed that the UPND will not be intimidated and will continue speaking out against the wrongs in the PF government.

  1. Searching an office when they are alredy alert???Ba kapokola naimweee….u cant read btween the lines??U would have waited untill some other time.Dont you think all the suspected materials had been removed?Yaaaaaaa….ukushishitaaa.

    • Kosadabwa! They are working under cnp goverment.Even if the seditious materials were there, would upnd be that dull to keep them after the failed search yesterday.Chibwi no plan indeed.

    • If God has annointed him to be the next president no kolwestan and tribal hater like you fools can stop it. Mind you HH is a serious believer, this can be from God himself. Dont you remember what your superman hero, the one who inspires you Bembas so much- Sata, used to say, musalu wali pesamba……..

  2. Police State. This is shameful. Guy Scott, are you happy about this? This is a real directionless government. I am sure even pf bloggers like chimbwi na answer are ashamed. My advice to the pf government is to start working; time is running out for you guys. Let HH and Nevers do their checks and balances. That is how democracy works. If you are genuine enough, you know very well that most of the criticism from HH is constructive and is meant to correct you or tell you that something is wrong. But the unfortunate thing is that when you guys are criticised you quickly run to The Post to hide your failures using the term “bitterness”. This does not correct or make you right. To the contrary it shows your own bitterness against the truth from the opposition. Wake up guys and start working!

  3. #2 HH can’t be the next presdo. who is gonna vote for that tonga tribalist? Pf will be there after 2016. thereafter, chipimo will take over.

    • @ shameless hahahahahahaha that was funny. I was thinking the exact same thing. As much as I like Miyanda, HH would be a better president in his first 5 years than sata.

    • If you want Chipimo to suceed Sata wat re you if you say HH is a tonga tribalist re you not a bemba tribalist too.tribalism has never been this spoken in this country not even wen there was chiluba.

    • I never liked HH but right now he is looking more credible than HE MCS and his hopeless Ministers. Hopeless, is even an understatement. I will consult the Thesaurus for better wording but for now it will do. So ba Shi bwalya kalya usulile…

    • EQUALIZER sounds like you are made from the same mold as your UKWA….he is not normal, and I would say the same for you. The likes of you need to be locked up together with all PF Cadres who will defend all the rubbish PF has to feed our beloved country or Zambia will surely become a Zimbabwe or worse still, a Somalia.

    • Well said Ba W.I.S.O I think The Equalizer is one of the beneficiaries of these unprofessional diplomatic postings so he/she is desperately clinging on to HE MCS being in power. Sorry bwana mukubwa

  4. And then someone has the temerity to insult Dambisa Moyo – the current most well known Zambian on the planet when she says that this govt is scaring away investors? What is the rate of the Kwacha today? How much is mealie meal now? Where are the jobs we were promised? Where is the Barotseland agreement and above all where is Ukwa  Satana Chimbwi No Plan?

  5. #12 Why must you insult baboons – how can a decent person such as you purport to be bring baboons down to the level of Ukwa?

  6. Woop! Everything is falling in place! Chanda Chimba III must be very happy for being courageous. It looks like the rope is not long enough they are looking for an extension. What a breed of creatures!

  7. Can the ZP Inspector General despatch her trigger happy 100 Officers to Luano Valley instead of harassing innocent law abiding Citizens..

  8. This land is yout land and its mine to. Yoi want to dominate, we fix you. period. Keep your mpnkey tricks in Bembaland.  Dont extend to North Western Province you shameless tribalisys  and thieves

  9. Nop! pf is really in self destruction mode! Are you their supporters not ashamed? Or you are as shameless as your leaders?

  10. This is what happens when people find themselves in positions they never expecte.FTJ once said and I quote “Ba Sata was my secretary, tabalekwanisha no kulemba “the” ,how could i have appointed him as my successor?”.End of Quote…so pipo don’t expect too much from him

  11. Mr. President, Michael Sata.
I have written this open COMMENT to you so that in future I will reproduce it and say ‘I warned you’. Could you please fire defense minister Geoffrey Mwamba. He is not only a threat to you but to the nation as a whole.

  12. Sata, mwamba, sakeni, nsanda . These are the northern alliance intellectual heavyweights. The country is being run by baboons lacking both intellect and good looks. Zambia has just lost 10 years of development. These Muppets are below illiterate villagers because illiterate villagers can be productive. Sata & co are barbaric , tribal and destructive! Pama. Fi indeed!

  13. Whatever seditious material was removed last night, it is simple and straight forward, but remember police said they will issue a statement later? I am not sure why bloggers like Livingstone can not try to be civil and argue logically, you will be apprehended one day!!!

  14. Bravo UPND youths for seaching these hundry and corwards we call police. You showing expleplary behavioir which is most welcome in 2016.

  15. Mr.HH, I adore you a lot because you know how to effectively use the hegemonic system of capitalism to your advantage as a knower of unique knowledge of amassing wealth with the objective of extracting huge surplus value from gross wealth. We all generate our personal resources in this capitalism oriented world through the application of our highly sought after knowledge we possess. Therefore, I say keep it up as long as it is not a criminal initiative. Mr. HH, a lot of universities are conducting several theses which involve the mangement of Zambia’s valuable resources, i.e. Uranium huge reserves, Copper reserves etc. You are very popular abroad both among academics and general public. Your audience is growing.

  16. @mfumu chidano: Ndiwe msilikali watulo, bwanji sunafake evidence? Manje ukonza, but osamenya kumanso but mu mbambo. Utylo nangu zibili tuzakamba at anagwela pa mfuti yamene analikufuna kuba.

  17. What a disgrace to the PF government this saga has been.GBM must go.Since when did a countries defence minister threaten an opposition leader? How do police go with 2 defective warrants?and why were they 100 armed police, why did they cordon off lagos rd.Persecution at its worst.I miss RB!

  18. Please HH learn something from ths…or you too will face the people.I thot PF would learn from MMD mistatkes but alas! i was mistaken.

  19. Why are the catholics very quiet about whatever is happening kanshi where are they and where is ukwa himself?

  20. Zambians are very clever people….viva the youths..your votes are being abused by the PF thungs…failures……ba SATA NA BA FULWA

  21. The search was a mere academic exercise. It was too late in the day. If UPND had anything criminal on their premises, they could by the time the search was conducted, have removed it.

Besides, this, it is really silly how the Police cannot be trusted by the members of the public. This mistrust has been demonstrated by the search the Police were subjected to. Ati first nikuseche ukalibe kunisecha, olo tisechane. Wow! I have never come across this before. Both the UPND and the Zambia Police were suspects ka.

  22. The President should dismiss a lot of his Ministers, and bring in young progressive Zambians who have fire in their bellies to lead the nation forward. It is President Sata’s only chance to leave a positive impression on Zambia.

  23. Seyo tingo langanako tyala and enjoying the comedy. Nazo nkhani coz you boasted of action and experience….kekekekeke

  24. Well done Mr. HH and team, excellent team work and you know how to demostrate solidarity among your rank and file membership. In fact it is a splendid reflection of desperate unilaterally prepared display of visionless attempt to assinate your character and to discredit your party. Shame, the world is watching and it knows the party which is prudently after gaining recognition and, on one hand a party that is morally gaining support because the compelling circumstances create the opportunity for Mr.HH to rise to the demands of ordinary poor Zambians, not trying to insult their consciousness. Others are psychologically insulting the cognitive intelligence development of Zambians and you know who they are.

  25. Kapokola bamusecha?…..lol. zoona kapokola wasila. Next time osasechewa. Nikungena chabe. Akapusa ni kumudonsa chabe Mapolo.aaaa tu ma UPND cadres mupusila mwami imwe?

  26. Seriously SATA should reshuffle these embarassing ministers if PF has to survive, they are now a liability to the govt. We are now fatigued with daily boobs and blunders.

  27. These are the dumbest ministers Zambia has ever had literally and figuratively; no moral code or common sense. We need to pray Zambians period.

  28. Chiluba ( forget his thieving ways ) and Mwanawasa probably had the best ensemble of minisers ever. They were pulled from Zambia’s generation of moral and every day sense parameters. Only evil was little Napolian chiluba.

  29. Zambians never cease to amaze me, just yesterday you were crying for Sata, God gave you Sata, and now u want HH. Dont you see, politicians are just the same even HH (if at all) manages to seat in that position will also have his own weakness! let’s grow up and try to fix the problems other than insulting at each other. Most bloggers will one day be ashamed to wake up to the news that sata has made hh republican vice president, after all they had once formed an alliance.

  31. This is what happens when you have retards in government. With the high crime in Zambia wasting resources on rubbish ventures!

  32. # 50, you have made my day.

Your drawing encapsulates the frustration that the majority of zambians are feeling after the 920 deception.

  33. Ka HH should be very grateful to our hard working gallant ZP for being courteous to him and his lawyers yesterday; giving him time to shred and dispose off whatever incriminating documents he may have had. I guess that’s the beauty of the democracy we are enjoying in our beautiful country.

    • Your comment sounds remarkably like what the National Party used to say about blacks in South Africa. These bantu should be grateful for living in such a beautiful and democratic country as this…. blah blah!

  34. wasted resources who could have prevented robberies or arrest wrong doers during all this stupid witch hunt. The gvt should stop harrassing citizens please.
    Shame on you

  35. I used to watch the Muppet Show and it was better than this, I can even do an encore but for the PF PULIZZI once is more than enough. I am on my knee people. PULIZZI

  36. Unless the government restore order in the country, there could be no future for HH and for Mr Sata on the political stage. All their efforts in the past will have been for nothing.
We want this acrimony to stop, so that normality can be restored. The nation began on a very happy and positive mood when the PF won elections, and the Chipolopolo became champions of African footy. However, the recent disorder and lack of visible progress has dispirited many citizens. We need to recapture whatever it is that we lost in the last few months. Tribal nonsensical rhetoric has been rife, particularly among e-communities. This is casting a heavy dark cloud over nationhood. We have never been at this low in the existence of our country.

  37. Is the time right for inter-party dialogues, provided these are not time wasters, and opportunities for demeaning each other?

Clearly, we have not yet finished praying for stability in a developing democracy in our nation. It is now high time Christians prayed and fasted for the nation, playing the role of intercessors who don’t take sides, except God’s.

  38. HOW STUPID IS PF TO ALL OF A SUDDEN ELEVATE UPND????? A PARTY THAT WAS A DISTANT THIRD LAST ELECTIONS, YOU NOW MAKE THEM HEROES AS THEY JOIN THE RANKS OF THE PERSECUTED!!!! TO TEACH PF A LESSON, voters that were on the FENCE WILL NEXT TIME OBVIOUSLY SYMPATHISE WITH UPND – It is simple human nature!! The Bright eyed young things in PF SERIOUSLY NEED TO CALL FOR AN EXTRA ORDINARY CONVENTION BECOZ YOU WILL SINK SO FAST YOU WON’T KNOW WHAT HIT YOUR CHIBWATO!!!!! You need to rest YOUR GERIATRIC LEADER, he is losing his grey-matter at an extra-ordinary rate!!!!!

  39. PITY THE OTHER OPPOSITION PARTIES OPT TO SIT ON THEIR HANDS WHILST THEY WATCH OTHER ZAMBIANS BEING PERSECUTED FOR THEIR POLITICAL BELIEFS!!! IT IS A MOCKERY THAT THEY EVEN CALL THEMSELVES POLITICAL PARTIES & YET NOT BE ABLE TO RECOGNISE POLITICAL PERSECUTION FOR AS LONG AS IT IS NOT HEADED THEIR WAY, but it is ONLY A MATTER OF TIME & AS ZAMBIANS WE WILL REMEMBER THIS INDIFFERENCE!!!

  40. One begins to wonder whether this wholesale GENDER-EQUALITY ELEVATION OF WOMEN FOLK WAS DESIGNED TO GET THEM TO DO ONES BIDDING BECOZ (I wonder, whether women feel more indebted to benefactors than men – I know I’ll draw so much flak – BUT IT IS JUST WHAT I SEE!!) Hence we see judges in limbo; Police unleashed!!

  41. Oh & I FORGOT!! SOME ONE SHOULD “testify” & CHECK whether Judge CHIKOPO IS A TRANSVESTITE!!!! Squeeze the goonies!!!

  42. Empty handed…? Even if ZP didn’t find any seditious material, how many party documents, position papers, internal emails, and other things of private importance to the UPND did the police manage to cart off to be shared with the ruling party? It’s much like Shoprite storming into the office of Pick n’ Pay demanding to look at all their computers and company files!

  43. @ Maxwell (#53): Your comment sounds remarkably like what the National Party used to say about blacks in South Africa. These bantu should be grateful for living in such a beautiful and democratic country as this…. blah blah!

  44. What has been said by @Gundix (56 / 7) is the best blog! Zambia is greater than HH and Sata. Their agents should not mutilate and annilate the spirit of enterprise and endownment God has bequeathed ZED. The majority in UNPD, MMD, NADA, ZRP, NAREP and PF celebrated the change of Government to a yet unknown the PF. We surprised ourselves that despite being Africans we possessed democratic values akin to the West. And then the Chipolopolo did the ‘impossible’ and oh my God we were on cloud 23!! Everything looked so promising until the tribal totting lunatic fringe across the political divide invaded cyber space to drag us into the sewer of hate and apartheid with words like Bant. In Human Rights Law, segregation on tribalism equals apartheid. Stop apartheid; abash Bantustan!!!!

  45. I like the helpful information you provide in your articles. I?ll bookmark your weblog and check again here frequently. I’m quite sure I?ll learn a lot of new stuff right here! Best of luck for the next!

  46. Thanks for your handy post. Over time, I have come to understand that the actual symptoms of mesothelioma are caused by your build up of fluid involving the lining of your lung and the chest cavity. The infection may start inside the chest region and propagate to other limbs. Other symptoms of pleural mesothelioma include weight loss, severe inhaling trouble, a fever, difficulty taking in food, and puffiness of the face and neck areas. It should be noted that some people existing with the disease tend not to experience every serious indicators at all.
